How I feel after making a comic about mother feelings while having zero of them:

kouyou has some complicated feelings towards dazai---on one hand, she pities him: he's a boy who got roped into the mafia too young, an SA survivor who can't stand human touch, and she's not stupid--she suspects she knows why dazai wears those bandages

on the other hand, he's fucking annoying

chuuya lives above kouyou's brothel, and dazai is there constantly. imagine the worst upstairs neighbor you've ever had. multiply it by 30. when they're not beating the shit out of each other and actually shaking the walls of the building, they're just...screaming. kouyou finds out dazai laughs like a screeching hyena when he's around chuuya, his limbs flailing and unrestrained. it's so unlike the performative smiles or derisive snorts she's seen from dazai before, and she's a little relieved that he actually is 15, despite his absurdly high rank.

but it's the 4th time this week that dazai has rushed past a client to get to the front door, causing her girls to drop expensive wine glasses on the ground. kouyou grimaces as they shatter. chuuya, as expected, isn't far behind. he stops to look at the glass.

sorry ane-san, it's his fault, ane-san, i'll pay for the glasses, he says, looking genuinely guilty and well, kouyou could never stay mad at chuuya for long.

(dazai doubles back when he realizes chuuya isn't chasing him, and they snipe at each other as chuuya cleans up the shattered glass)

- Kouyou, 27 yr as of current canon

- Kouyou started dressing in traditional clothing in an effort to seem older/inspire more respect when she first became an executive, and it stuck. now instructs all the people under her wing to do the same

- Actually a huge fan of romance novels, Chuuya started reading them cuz of her

- WILL judge you to your face in the most convoluted language, you will only realize you were insulted in like three business days

- She has freckles but she covers them up w makeup, Yosano loves them

- Dazai gave him a bunch of plants as a surprise gift during his brief plant dad phase, he frantically learned everything he could abt them so he could take care of them properly

- He cuts his own hair, yes it is uneven on purpose, he thinks he looks cool (he does, but only because hes Chuuya so he can pull off literally anything) (yes i am biased why do you ask)

- Fantastic cook

- Piercings <333 he would get a tattoo but he doesnt rly do well with needles (cough trauma cough)

- Had a "sleepover" with Kyouka when he realized neither of them had ever had one, it was great they did eachothers nails and watched romcoms together, Kyouka decided she didnt really like them but Atsushi did so they watched them anyways

- Made everyone friendship bracelets one time on said "sleepover"!

- ALSO has an atrocious fashion sense, its Dazais influence <//3

- Kyouka has made it her personal mission to fix his haircut over time (he cuts his hair with kitchen scissors, she was horrified when she saw)

- When he first realized he felt something for Atsushi he not only did not realize that his heart speeding up around him was a crush thing, but thought it was excitement for a fight, so he just ended up challenging him to an absurd amount of fights, going as far as to go to the ADA to pick fights

how i think bsd characters would hug: pm edition

akutagawa: this poor sweet boy his hugs would SUCK. he doesn’t hug you back. he doesnt know shit about hugging! you have to place his hands around you and ask him to give you a (GENTLE) squeeze. he would never admit it but he likes the hugs. i have a feeling that after some dangerous mission or something he’d hug you real tight and you realise that wait he’s actually not bad at hugs he’s just crazy shy about it. 

chuuya: he gives perfect hugs. just because he doesn’t receive hugs often doesn’t mean he cant give them. he puts his hand in your hair, squeezes you, and makes you feel safe. you can feel chuuya smiling when he hugs you. chuuya’s hugs are the best thing in the world. god i want him to hug me so bad 

kouyou: she doesn’t seem like she’d like hugs very much, but she would give them if she cared for someone. she’s scared to pull you too close so she just sorta...loosely hugs you. she smells wonderful (i KNOW it). give her time to get used to hugs and soon she’ll be giving you such loving embraces <3 i think kouyou is honestly more of a kisser. she’ll lean over and peck your cheek before hugging you. 

gin: she doesn’t hug you much. i’m sorry she just doesn’t. she could, she has awesome hug potential, but she doesn’t hug you often. she cuddles into your side, holds your hand and wraps her arm around you. she would only ever hug you in private/intimate scenarios. maybe if you nagged her enough she’d give you a (very shy) short cuddle.

tachihara: his hugs are spontaneous and genuine, and are usually just kinda smaller squeezes before quickly letting you go. he mostly hugs when he’s excited. when he’s tired or feeling down, he gives you long, tight warm hugs. tachihara sometimes gets so excited that he picks you up when he hugs you. if he realises that he’s done this he gets a little flustered because thats a romantic thing to do (even though ur his s/o lol). 

hirotsu: he doesn’t feel like much of a hugger, but like gin he totally could. a hug from hirotsu would be kinda like when you don’t see a relative for a while and you finally see them again and you give them a short but meaningful hug. he would never hug you in public. he barely even hugs in private really. but if you ran up to him and jumped into his arms he would catch you. 

kajii: he’s a frickin weirdo but he gives...weirdly calm hugs? like they actually comfort you when you need comfort? it’s odd. that being said, he will give you a surprise squeeze out of nowhere thats honestly more like a heimlich manoeuvre. proceed with caution!

higuchi: her hugs are great! she pulls you into her and squeezes you enough to feel wanted but not enough to suffocate you. higuchi loves hugs and is always there to make you feel better with em. she’s a great hugger. she’ll hug you anywhere and everywhere (except around akutagawa, maybe? he probably thinks its ‘unprofessional’ or some shit idk). this poor girl needs just as much love and care as you do. she’s clingy!

mori: mori gives the same hugs as fukuzawa...except none of the feelings are there. they’re false hugs that are just meant to deceive. they’re hollow and manipulative. still, if you’re desperate, perhaps they’ll cause a placebo. i don’t think mori LOVES you. i think he can like you, or enjoy your company, but he won’t love you. his hugs reflect this. elise’s hugs are more like murder attempts by strangulation. 

kyusaku (platonic): well, he’s a kiddo. kids, especially lonely ones, would like hugs. they’re too cute to resist when they tell you they feel sad and need a hug to feel better. you best not fall for it though because he’d use that creepy doll on you. just pat his head, he loves that just as much.

oda: forget chuuya. ODASAKU is the best hugger in bsd i can promise you this. his hugs are comfort, love, gratitude, they’re home. nobody hugs better than oda. after one time you’d do anything to be back in this man’s arms. oda is musky, like his natural scent is musky, and it’s very relaxing. you could fall asleep in his arms within minutes. he kisses the crown of your head when he hugs you. he keeps his face in the crook of your neck when you cuddle with him. odasaku marry me

ace: uh. so this guy would hug you like, so unsincerely. his hugs are devoid of any honesty. at least mori TRIES to appear as if he cares, smh. ace is just like...kind of an asshat ngl. i don’t know why you’d hug him, but if you want to then all power to you? man he’d just turn you into a pretty set of jewels and hug those

karma (platonic): okay this kid is a pretty good hugger! i mean i don’t think he’s much of a hugger, but he’s not like particularly avoidant of it like gin or hirotsu. he’s a sympathetic and understanding person- if he sees you need a hug he’ll give you one. and it’s not long, or really intimate or anything, but it’s soothing nonetheless.

chuuya loves dogs as you know, he esp loves small dogs that he can dress up in similar attire to his (his black leather coat and his porkie hat).

chuuya likes to sleep with the lights on at times, so he'll be alert in a way.

chuuya learned cursive from koyou, but is embarrassed of how good it may not look so barely writes in it.

elise and chuuya hang out a lot when he has time off, they draw together and chuuya is actually pretty good at drawing animals. he once drew a picture of a realistic mackerel and named it dazai, crumped it up in a ball afterwards.

chuuya and dazai actually used play chess together (mori taught them) when they were younger but dazai would keep going on/have a tantrum about how his slug of his partner was so bad as he claimed while chuuya would win by pulling a fool's mate while dazai was ranting on.

dazai got so mad over that he posted his chuuya is a sore loser newsletter over the mafia about how "chuuya was a loser that sucked as chess" and chuuya would just sigh and roll his eyes at dazai sticking his tongue out at him.

Dazai:

Has bpd. A lot of his traits remind me of my friends with it

He some kind of trans. Nonbinary. Transfem. Transmasc. Idk he's megender lmao

He's described as appearing very youthful in the first two light novels. I imagine that once the events of the main timeline start picking up though, with all the time stopping or slowing abilities that *dont affect him*, he actually ages faster than the other characters. I draw current dazai with small wrinkles, which also hints at stress and stuff

Also, I imagine current dazai getting tanner as he works in the light, as well as getting more prominent freckles.

Round/doe eyes because that is part of his appearance in my opinion. Seeming unsuspecting and innocent, especially during his mafia days

Bad eyesight in his right eye from being under the bandages for so long. Saw this headcanon and loved it

Similarly, beastzai has bad vision in general

-I loveeee the idea that the aku siblings knew oda and Dazai just. Never knew. I wouldn't call this a headcanon, because it's not probable in any since we saw Oda's interaction with Aku, but a very nice AU.

-Kouyou is MOTHER. To everyone in the mafia. Because I said so. She's like the Godfather.

-I gotta ask, why that name? XD

-Gin has a knife collection, and names them all and polishes them on the dinner table.

• Chuuya gets too clingy to Kouyou when he's tiny. He hugs her everytime, because he knows she wont mind, and she just giggles and hugs him back.

• They play with stuffed animals and have tea parties together.

^ They like to play tea party with the stuffies, and Kouyou always makes sure not to make the tea too hot not to burn Chuuya or cause accidents

• Kouyou likes to spoil her baby, but Chuuya is not used too it. He always gets happy.

• When Chuuya is too sleepy, Kouyou won't mind placing him on her lap or letting his rest on her shoulder.

• Kouyou has rules for Chuuya, and one of them is not biting on everything around him. (She bought him a fishy teether to help with this)

YAYYYYYY FINALLY A BSD SHIP ASK :D SAPPHIC BSD SPECIFICALLY YES :D

• Okay since BSD isn’t my current hyperfixation this might be tricky BUT I was hyperfixated on it for like half a year not too long ago so I still have loads of info stored up in my brain to be dumped out

• Their first time meeting was when Kouyou was held captive by the Agency during the Guild Arc. They had heard of each other prior to that and being from rival organizations, they went in expecting to be enemies

• Their first impression was a rough one, but there was an underlying thread of chemistry. They matched each other’s banter very well, despite being used to having the final word at their respective organizations. It was a welcomed change

• And they’re both raging lesbians so like…hot lady who is my enemy…many thoughts occur

• It’s very much an enemies AND lovers dynamic, they meet up for secret rendezvous and then fight each other during times of conflict

• The tragic part is that they both like each other, that’s why it’s become an ongoing thing. That’s why they start going on secret dates in disguise, although they both claim to not enjoy it

• In another life they would’ve been soulmates, but their conflicting ideologies and rival positions force them to be enemies (because I like to make things overly romantic, sue me)

• They have a lot of insignificant things in common- favorite desserts, favorite books, etc. Those are important, but they’re also similar personality-wise and with their backstories

• I imagine Yosano dates around a lot and this makes Kouyou insanely jealous. They aren’t official so she technically can’t have a problem with it but it still gets under her skin

• So Yosano’s like “hey if you want to be exclusive just say that, there are no rules to this secret relationship thing” but Kouyou is too stubborn to admit she likes Yosano that much

• Yosano initially takes a very “your trauma is not my business” approach to their differing jobs but as things get more serious she starts to develop a slight savior complex. She goes from being completely unattached to way too attached. She wants to show Kouyou the light the way Ranpo and Fukuzawa did for her

• Speaking of which, there’s only one person who knows about their situationship and that’s Ranpo. He figured it out himself and mentioned it casually to Yosano one day, nearly giving her a heart attack. She knew he would find out eventually but it was very sudden. At least she has someone to vent to when things get especially confusing

• Higuchi and Gin eventually find out too because they catch them at the same lesbian bar

• Pretty soon it becomes an open secret

• I like to imagine there’s a big moment of confrontation between the PM and Kouyou that goes down exactly like the “how long have you been fucking Nate Jacobs?” scene from Euphoria

• Kouyou addresses Yosano as “Doctor” in public and “Akiko” in private

• Kouyou likes to use her mafia money to send Yosano anonymous gifts on a whim. Yosano always knows who they’re from

• Yosano’s favorite physical trait of Kouyou’s is her hair, Kouyou likes Yosano’s sadistic smile

• Speaking of which, Yosano definitely appreciates having a relationship where they get to beat the shit out of each other on occasion. It keeps the spark alive

• But on dates or in settings that are generally more intimate, Yosano is a total gentleman. She def gives all her girls the princess treatment. Kouyou is used to being the one to spoil women so this makes her very flustered

• They had one big fight about Mori and ever since then they made a silent agreement never to bring him up. When things are tense he becomes an elephant in the room

• In traditional “ADA member has a PM-related secret” fashion, Kunikida was the last to find out about their relationship

• This is so completely random but they remind me of Kermit and Miss Piggy. Yosano is Kermit

• Kouyou pretends to be severely injured every time the PM and ADA team up so she has an excuse to see Yosano

• Yosano sends Kouyou pictures of particularly bad crime scenes or injuries at random to jump scare her

• Kouyou likes classical music and Yosano is a metalhead

BDS Gender & Orientation HCs pt2 PM

Akutagawa:

Orientation:|Gay, Demiromantic| Doesn’t get romantically attached to people, with a few notable exceptions. He has never looked upon a woman with lust in his life and genuinely doesn’t understand the appeal (lol). He does understands the appeal of men but his fear of physical vulnerability tends to negate him acting on it.

Higuchi:

Orientation: |Bi| The Akutagawa’s were her bi awakening.

Chuuya:

Orientation: |Gay| Exclusively likes men. He was self-conscious about it (possibly with some self-loathing) when he was younger but then he met Albatross and the Flags, and they assured him it was cool (half of them were queer anyway). Since then, he’s been secure in his identity, but keeps pretty quiet about it as he’s a very internally guarded person who likes to keep his personal life private. Still, he won’t compromise for others’ comfort and can be quite outspoken if somebody’s making unsavory remarks—regardless of if they’re directed at him or not.

*Chuuya has a soft spot for the younger queer kids in the mafia and tries to subtly wingman for them. He’s like a brother figure to a lot of them and is more than willing to talk with them about their identity or offer comfort, regardless of how close they might be. (yes, in his own way he’s trying to pay forward what the Flags did for him.)

Tachihara:

Orientation: |Queer(pan)| Had never really given sexuality much thought and just assumed he was straight—and then he met Gin and was like ‘oh, guess not’. Since then, he has been more in touch with his sense of attraction.

Gin:

Gender: |Genderfluid, Demigirl| Mostly use neutral forms of expression/address, however, for as much gender euphoria that causes, they do get a bit antsy if they haven’t been able to express either of the binaries for a while. Conveniently their work/life balance lets them express their gender with relative ease, presenting femininely (and using feminine or neutral pronouns, though feminine is more common) while off work—and conversely presenting masculinely/androgynously while a work (and using neutral and masculine pronouns, though neutral ones are generally preferred). She doesn’t tell many people about her gender and often lets them assume —usually enjoying the mixed results and ambiguity—unless they are very close with her (so the Black Lizards and her brother know).

Mori: (When I was writing this, I told myself I wasn’t going to touch this one, but then I stared at his hairline too long and realized he would be wilding more interesting—to me specifically—if he was ace, so-)

Orientation: |Asexual, Demiromantic| Fascinated with sex and human sexuality to an almost fetishistic degree and is more than willing to exploit/abuse those attachments in others—he likes to watch the fallout and sadistically enjoys the exertion of his power. BUT, he doesn’t feel that kind of attraction himself, which may be a contributing factor to why he’s so interested in it.

He does, however rarely, feel romantic attraction. He’s had one(1) notable crush and its fucked with him ever since.

Kouyou:

Orientation: |Bisexual-sapphic| Despite (in the strictest sense of the term) being bi, she only entertains advances from women and will identify as lesbian if asked. She did have a notable romance with a man in her youth and while it was genuine attraction, it burned her forever—since then she has shunned the romantic advances of men. After that formative heartbreak all her entanglements have been sapphic in nature, but she’s still very wary of romance and ‘love’, so they have been few and far between; mostly consisting of short lived situationships.

Q:

Gender:|Nonbinary| Uses neutral pronouns. They get a right kick watching people fumble to trying to figure out how to categorize them.
