(Asking this to your writing blog bc this is a theory)
so, this might not make sense, but I was thinking about the port mafia transfer.
Asagiri probably wants to surprise us all, and choose someone no one expected. And that had me thinking.
Who is someone no one is really expecting? A lot of people think it’ll be Dazai, or Tanizaki, or Ranpo.
But what are the chances Fukuzawa himself gets chosen? He’s their leader, and therefore part of the detective agency.
Without their leader, the agency very well may fall apart, and would become weak and vulnerable.
Sure, Kunikida would step up to take the leadership role if that were to happen, but if Fukuzawa is no longer in the agency, Kyouka and Atsushi and maybe other would lose ALL control over their ability.
And what is something that Mori could gain from Fukuzawa’s ability?
It could make it so Chuuya could control corruption. And they wouldn’t exactly need Dazai anymore for their best offensive strategy to be put into place
that’s all I can think of at the moment, this probably isn’t very well thought out, but I wanted to share :3
MON DIEU???
Kim you are a genius. This is such a Mōri move, he definitely would. The agreement only ruled out Yosano from the exchange, so that means that Fukuzawa is indeed an option. An unexpected one, but an option nevertheless. Imagine Mōri never giving Fukuzawa missions, because he knows Fukuzawa doesn't want to be an assassin anymore, and he wouldn't risk his cooperation; the only thing Mōri needs is to have Fukuzawa be a Mafioso in name only.
Kunikida isn't ready yet to be president, and the entirety of the agency would fall into chaos. Even Rampo would be shaken to his core; that's his father boss we're talking about. Yosano would have her hatred for Mōri increase tenfold, and with how big of an impact this might cause on everyone, Katai might re-join the agency to support Kunikida at his lowest.
I am so excited, and in love with this theory you don't even know Kim–
I can't go into full meta mode thought because of my exam tomorrow, but just know this: I'm absolutely rooting for this theory to happen.
Tysm for dropping this in my inbox I'm genuinely so mind blown Ily/p 🥹

I saw you talk about the colonel and. Can I ask if you have thoughts on the ability users that fought against verlaine? I find them all so fascinating, despite the fact they really weren't around for long.
I think they're all so interesting!! Let me see how many of them I remember off the top of my head.
Obv we have the Colonel and his earth-moving ability, and we know he survived Stormbringer, but I just think he was a really interesting guy from what little we know about him. Its in the Dead Apple Prequel event from Bungo Mayoi so take it with a grain of salt, but Chuuya and Dazai both seemed a little personally upset that the Colonel was killed. Sure, we didn't see much of him, but I kind of think of him as a jolly great-uncle type of guy that would have had one of those really full-bodied laughs when telling old stories from the Great War to his colleagues in mafia-owned bars. Like, he was certainly a powerful ability user, its a shame we didn't see more of him.
I think the only other ability user from that battle that got a name was Karen, the one with the frost ability. If I'm remembering correctly, she was pretty out of it, and only really did anything when she was told? I'd love to know more about her and why she was that way, only acting when given orders. She has to have an interesting backstory somewhere, right? Right?? And the range of her ability was quite impressive, too. She has to have some kind of personality to her in off-times though, which means she can't wholly be a weapon to aim and not much else, but I understand why she's not an executive if she doesn't really think for herself despite her powerful ability. I think she survived as well? Or at least survived the Brutalization phase, lord knows what happened once Guivre was activated.
I can't mention Karen without mentioning the Time-Wielding ability user, since he died shoving her out of the way of an attack. If he was included in the wet cat poll going around I think he'd have a fighting chance, because god this guy was miserable. Technically we have the most backstory on him, just because he mentions right off the bat that his family was killed by time. Parents, I'm sure this was old age, possibly, but he also mentions the death of a sibling if I remember correctly. I can't help but wonder what that time-related death was. Something running out of time? A terminal disease? Can't be sure, but I feel like its different. I find this guy really interesting even though we only see him for a brief moment, because for one second he isn't so gloomy, and that's trying to save Karen. Despite how gloomy he is, clearly he hadn't given up on forming attachments yet (this is also why I think Karen is more than a blank slate, the time guy saw her as something worth saving!). That, and his ability itself is rather rare, as time-based abilities are incredibly powerful and the only other one we know of is H.G. Wells from 55 minutes, but hers operates completely differently. He had soooooooo much interesting potential and its a shame he died, even though it was protecting someone! What a way to go.
The only other one I remember off the top of my head that we saw any true personality of was the guy with the keyhole ability that died getting sucked through his little viewport. Gosh, his was fun. It also kind of reminded me of Nikolai's ability in passing? I don't know anything about this little keyhole guy off in the control room, but I would bet money that he and Albatross got along fucking great because they were both absolutely ridiculous. I'd like to see what that guy came up with on April Fools day, because he had the personality and ability to cause some real havoc.
That's the really cool thing about these characters. We only saw them for an instant, but in such a short time we saw enough of who they were to remember them and form some opinions. I'd love to someday see Ango-style files written on them as bonus content or something, just to see what's left to say. They all had such interesting abilities and so much potential. And again, in theory, at least Karen may have still been alive. I can't help but wonder if, if she made it, she also had to fight her ability during Dead Apple, and if she survived it (or held it off long enough for the others to defeat Shibusawa). I almost doubt her ability to simply because of her thing with following orders, but there's certainly a chance. If she is still alive, I hope she pops up again some day.

There’s a loud cackle from the corner of the hallway. Kajii appears, strutting up with a toothy grin and waving at them. “Surprise!” “Kajii,” Chuuya greets. He got the worst of it, confetti all over his hair and clothes. Higuchi stifles a giggle. “What the fuck was that?” - or, the port mafia, guns, lemon bombs, and... confetti?

idk if you like these sorts of questions but how would you rank the organizations in bsd? in terms of faves or some other criteria? and/or who is your fave from each group?
let’s see... a few organisations i need to get out of the way right off the bat...
i can’t really rank the order of the clock tower by virtue of we know fuck all about it at this point.
and i’m not sure what to make of the rats given that next to the scale and complexity of the doa schemes it very much feels like fyodor’s fun little side project that did little more than put him in position to spend some quality time with dazai irregardless of how dazai may or may not feel about that. cannibalism arc is still my favourite though, so idk i feel like i should give them an honorary gold star for instigating all of that.
mimic gets a gold star too. they were a one-off villain organization, but their miserable quest for death and horribly inefficient weapon choice stuck with me. and again they instigated a lot of angst and i appreciate that.
the sheep... they did provide us with the utter brilliance that is sheep king chuuya, which inspired an ungodly amount of absolutely magnificent art both in fandom and in canon (i straight up can’t read the 15 manga because the art is so good, it makes my insides instantly wither and rot out of sheer envy). i refuse to give those brats credit for that tho.
with that out of the way my ranking of the main organisations goes as follows (with each respective fave in parentheses):
1.port mafia (mori)
2.the guild (lucy)
3.armed detective agency (dazai, fukuzawa is a close second)
4.decay of the angel (fyodor, nikolai is a very close second)
5.hunting dogs (fukuchi)
6.The Government™ i forgot the fucking name, do as marvel does and shorten it to something snappy, i have to remember enough public offices for work already (ango)
ahhh it pains me to put the doa so low and the version of them that lives inside my head would easily take the runner-up spot, but aside from ~aesthetics~ and favourite-character-concentration (which the doa wins handily with 3 out of 5 members being some of my absolute top faves, 60% my dudes, that’s vodka territory) i also value cohesion (how organised they actually are, what goal(s) they’re aiming for and the relationships between members) and that’s where the doa in its current state kind of falls apart. there are no shared goals, fyodor is just fucking with everybody and the only relationship that has any kind of substance is fyolai. is it really “organised” if my darling fyodor who can do no wrong is just puppeteering everybody else? i'm not so sure anymore...
(to be clear i do enjoy the betrayal and despair of it all and generally i reserve judgement until the arc has actually concluded, but looking at it as an actual organisation as opposed to a plot device it’s not doing much for me at the moment. though again i hold out hope for maybe some flashbacks that could give us some more insight into the doa’s planning stages and especially the relationship between fyodor and fukuchi...)
the port mafia has solidly monopolized the number one spot though, no matter what groundbreaking revelations we may or may not get on the doa front. discounting that one official art of the doa, the pm has by far the best aesthetic. aside from a few outliers everyone’s outfits are absolutely fantastic (from kouyou’s ensemble to elise’s dresses to every black suit and whatever spin the wearer takes on it; also as short-lived as they were, all the flags looked dapper as fuck too). special shout-out to mori’s office, 10/10 would love to do my soul-rotting paperwork in there and have a mental health crisis lying down on the carpet right after. great view too. dazai’s shipping container is a vibe as well tbh.
on the less superficial side of things i love that aside from taking on the thankless responsibility of working the nightshift of yokohama protection duty they are also just a fucking mafia that does mafia business and i wish we saw more of that.
in terms of members the pm is kind of a mixed bag (a handful of characters i love, a few i hate and a whole lot i don’t have any particularly strong feelings about), but even the characters i don’t care for generally have a more intriguing reason for being members than /you gotta be employed to survive under capitalism/. loyalty, a sense of duty, of belonging, everyone has a reason to be here and a role to play and is actually getting shit done. it feels like an actual organisation (which some entries on this list quite honestly don’t) but it’s also more than that... i’m not explaining it very well, the point is that i would not be opposed to a 500 chapter spin-off detailing the day-to-day port mafia business and exploring every member’s backstory and motivations. bsd needs more filler is what i’m saying.
#made the important part bold for your convenience because that got way too fucking rambly#i started word vomiting about every other organization too but i felt like i got too mean#also who's gonna fucking read this wall of text??? why add more bricks to this train wreck

HI!!!!
blinks. hi. looking for friends maybe possibly (please I need people to talk to I'm so bad at making friends)
I'm michael!! (or v, or luciel. take your pick, I dont mind :D), he/him (and it/its but he/him mostly preferred) I'm 18, gay, n living in the central us at the current moment!!!
a lot of what I enjoy talking about is ensemble stars, bungou stray dogs, genshin impact, chainsaw man, mystic messenger, OMORI n a lot of other things!!!
Enstars wise I love Valkyrie and I produce Valkyrie, Ritsu, HiMERU n Hiyori!!! I'm a Yae Miko main in genshin, and the DOA are my favorite group in bsd but I also love the ADA n Port Mafia!!!
A few disclaimers; I'm really, REALLY bad about texting someone first - I usually only do so once I'm super comfortable with someone, please keep that in mind. I'm also very awkward due to my really bad ability at making friends 😭😭 I'm trying to do better though! I talk a lot about my interests and can be really bad at thinking of responses too, so theres that.
All I ask is you be around my age (so around 16-21, but I'm fine with anything!! I just talk about a few more mature things like. idk. jobs n stuff and I just dont wanna be friends with anyone below the age of 16) and not be like. proship or anything that'd be standard dni material yk??
thanks for reading!!!

Stick Together
A story about a hat, a tailor, and a jailbird
The first BSD fic I wrote & it is centered around Chūya Nakahara
Word count: 3.6K
Pairing: (port mafia!) Chūya x (tailor-gifted) reader
Rating: CNF (Chūya Nakahara Fluff)// strangers->lovers
Warnings: mentions of poverty, growing up around drug users (none used by principal characters) , reader and Chūya do fight, mentions of Dazai
Sitting in a jail cell is not how one Chūya Nakahara thought he’d be spending his afternoon, yet here he was. A recon mission for the Port Mafia had gone awry after a client of the Armed Detective Agency had their cover blown by his fellow cohorts. Unfortunately when the battle had settled and cleared away via the local authorities, only a high ranking member of said mafia was apprehended.
Though the use of one phone call to his boss and another to a trusted lawyer, Chūya paces his holding cell now, hoping to change out of the dreadful ensemble jumper he had forcibly been told to wear (his signature top hat would only be returned to him after being released). Thankfully, his gloves that kept his power intact were allowed to be kept on his person.
The hat, though a stylish and signature wardrobe piece, had a tale uniquely its own. Perhaps if Chūya ever bothered to listen to his dear ol’friend Dazai more often, Chūya would have taken better care of it.
Once, when you were five, a teenage boy stopped by the city slums. Your parents were nowhere to be found, probably getting their fix on some gifted-approved uppers. The teenage boy arched his eyebrow at your direction as you unashamedly brought little straw dolls to life. You were a little puppeteer and you even chased the pigeons away with said talent. Magic was never lost in the eyes of a child, at least that was what the boy was thinking. He knelt down and beckoned you to come closer. Surely, you knew not to trust strangers, but with his charming grin and alluring smile, you couldn’t help approaching the older-young man.
“I’m Dazai.”
He extends a bandaged arm and hand to you.
“YN, mister dazai.”
You enthusiastically shake his hand. He chuckles at your eagerness to make a new friend—you stay out with him exploring the slums, making straw and paper-debris dolls, he fills your head with stories about the city he’s heading to for work. With the lights of the sunset reflecting upon your face, you notice a small black hat a few paces away. You run to grab it and give it to Dazai. Your smile is infectious for one who seems to have gotten lost in the wastelands.
Sometimes, you wonder what ever happened to the teenager with playful jokes and charming grin; other times, he wonders if you ever made it out of the slums. Your name never appeared in the obituaries over the course of the years—post wartime, post formation of the Port Mafia, and Armed Detective Agency. Imagine the surprised look on an older Dazai when he spots you chatting with his old apprentice, Chūya, in a tailor’s shop.
Dazai notices the hat Chūya is wearing, surely you’d know whose hat that was. He enters the building undetected wondering how this will play out:
“That’s not your hat sir,” you are stubborn in your tone. Chūya looks offended as he scoffs.
“Oh, and pray tell,” Chūya squinted and read your hand embroidered name on your worker’s apron. “YN, who’s hat is it?”
“An old friend of mine! I-I-I haven’t seen him in a while,” you now your head in defeats. A quivering pout forms on your lips and you muster up your resolve to explain how you were a child of the slums, the teenage boy you befriended, the hat, and that one blissful afternoon you were able to be yourself.
At this admission, Chūya removes his hat and scratches his auburn head.
“And this guy…did he have a name?”
“Dazai-san. Do you know what happened to him?”
Chūya glances up to see the person in question hiding behind a coat rack; Dazai blinks back in a code only Chūya deciphers as, ‘tell them I’m ok. I made it out of the slums at that point in my life just fine.’
You fiddle with the ties on your left when Chūya released a resigned sigh.
“He made it out of the slums just fine,” he relays the message through gritted teeth as his former boss and mentor leaves through the alternative side door entrance of the shop. Your eyes widen when this intriguing man not much older than yourself allows you to hold the hat.
“Y’know he was supposed to come find me?” you fiddle with the brim. “I was five years old, making dolls that could move on their own with paper scraps…”
You glance down at the hat with misting eyes.
“He never came back, did he?” Chūya inquires. He didn’t want to take too much longer since he was supposed to be at the drop location (for his current next mission) in under an hour and fifteen minutes.
“No,” you hand him back the hat with a short lived sniffle. You sort of let out this soft laugh. “Dazai was unique, to say the least. He did have enough gall to encourage me and…”
A few dolls made of excess yarn and thread held up several push pin needles thus freezing the port mafia man in place.
Of course this was a sting trap. Why couldn’t Chūya see through this? Or wait…
“You-you think I killed him?” He nearly doubled over in laughter when he locked his eyes with your stone cold ones.
Your anger and shortened fuse cause a few of the dolls to deliberately take a fighting stance. Your hand came into contact and thus you struck the Chūya Nakahara, upper rank in the Port Mafia, across the cheek with a slap. Your hand was calloused and roughened from years of living in the slums, only to be discovered for your needlework by an embroiderer who let you inherit the tailoring shop after her retirement. Chūya was caught so off guard by the physicality of your slap he nearly lost control of his gravity gift for a moment there.
“No,” your voice is icy and there is a fist of yours that nearly collides with his other cheek. “I just think Mister Dazai wouldn’t let such an idiotic member of the port mafia wear the hat I gave him.”
Chūya grabs your wrist and forcibly twists your arm behind your back as he stands behind you, urging you to calm yourself.
“Sweetheart,” his tone changed from that of a thief to a serial murderer. Your blood doesn’t run cold at this nickname, rather your brain and your heart chose to follow two very different paths: the first is telling you to at least elbow him in the ribs and give him some sassy remark; the second chooses with every inconceivable thump of blood in and around your body, decides the next words to fall out of your mouth.
“Yes darling?” your arm is rigid in his bruising hold.
Chūya’s suit jacket grazes your lower arm close to the wrist behind your back as he straightens up with you in front of him. He inhales the scent of freshly rained lavender from your clothing, from your hair, you excite his need to flirt with you longer with the way it twists and turns into a lowered braid, now draped over the opposite end of your back.
“Dazai would have mentioned you to me if you were so important to him back then, wouldn’t you ag-ack!”
You stomp on his foot, causing his hold to loosen enough for you to lunge forward and have your small army of threaded men ready their push-pin needle weapons at the largest threat you might face: a gravity manipulating monster.
Chūya hears you hurl insults at him in a language he thought he had forgotten: it’s a lost and dead dialect of those who grew up in the slums. Broken Japenese mixed with a few French words and hyphenated with English terminologies made him reassess the situation at hand. All he had wanted to do today at this tailor’s shop was ask for a new pair of pants that went well with his winter’s coat. Instead, he finds you, a loss last connection to his former mafia ‘big brother’ at the cost of not revealing the understanding fact Dazai had been keeping some tabs on you since you had parted ways all those years ago.
Dazai is a man of many talents and connections, such a feat would be possible even if you were never to be found again. After all, since the president of the Armed Detective Agency had been recruited as part of the team which busted the trap house your junkie parents had overdosed in, Dazai had been put in charge specifically looking into those next of kin whose loved one had since died during the siege. Apparently, your photo when you were five had been shuffled in with the rest. The president nodded when he had finished wrapping up the report with the authorities, however considering one member of his team had been thinking about how well a young orphan was doing in the streets, it is fair to say Dazai had been keeping track of you.
When you were done calling him every name under the sun, Chūya stood back and dusted off his suit. It wasn’t as wrinkled as he had thought, yet on the sign of good faith, the thread-men army you had created had slowly begun to unravel.Your frustrated tears had subsided thus leaving Chūya staring at you with his mouth slightly agape. His hat was still on the table from where he left it and his brilliant eyes shine with curiosity.
“YLN?”
The blood in your face drains a bit when you stumble backwards.
“I haven’t been known by that name for quite some time,” you breathe a little easier. “How did you know my family name?”
Chūya wants to tell you the truth, the whole part about his life prior to Dazai up until the mad lad left the group; he wants to tell you about how a few years after the trap house bust, he probably saw you trying to sell your wares in a flea market at night in another town. Sure you donned what the shelter would have given you, yet you made it your own (and no one would think twice about the embroidered flower branches covering a year’s long seam rip). Akutagawa and his faction were watching for any signs of the were-tiger in said night market, yet luckily for those who had gone on ahead, no one seemed to have taken note of your little kerchiefs. All but one, if Chūya were to be completely transparent with you. You dry your own tears, just like you did that first day when no one chose to buy any of your goods, yet now as you look on at the redhead, you hold your wrist. Dark splotches of light red and purple begin forming an imprint of his hand; feeling of guilt is not a foreign concept to Chūya, yet you allow him to approach you.
You’re hugging yourself, insulting yourself for almost attacking a customer in your store, one who knew of the teenage boy who took you far away from the location where your guardians were too busy trying to find their escape in lethal doses.
For once, Chūya doesn’t say anything brash. There is a stillness he brings when he sees how fast you can calm yourself, and yet when he glances at your arm, he chooses to show a bit of mercy. All this for a hat, huh? His inner thoughts scoff at him. Ever so curious, Chūya takes a short step of faith toward you.
“YLN?” he asks in such a voice laced with a false sense of sweetness.
“Go away,” you’re stern and deliberate in your dismissal.
If looks could kill, Chūya would be dead on the ground at that very moment. Your eyes are growing colder every second that ticks by. Chūya himself might have just shot you because you immediately begin to tune him out even as the words of apologies flutter about and out of his mouth hoping to reach your ears.
And yet, three days later, you don’t listen. Not even when you’re told about the news when you clock in to the seamstress office that morning. From what your co-workers had told you, there was a raid on a Port Mafia safehouse not too far from here. Apparently a deal with the Armed Detective Agency might have turned sour with the arrival of another organization threatening the life of the Gifted.
“...thank goodness none of us are Gifted,” an older co-worker says as she pours herself a cup of coffee.
“Yeah. I think we’d lose so many customers, don’t you think so, yn-san?” the other seamstress that morning chides on.
You fix yourself a cup of coffee as well humming along, not willing to expose yourself as one of those they say with a disdain in their tone. Honestly, with those three days, now four, without hearing back from the intolerable redhead, you wonder if he was swept up and caught in the whole affair.
So Chūya sits in his cell’s bunk bed, waiting for a lawyer or another grunt worker to come bust him out of jail. He wants to ensure the hat, his hat, can be returned to you in one piece for repairs. Chūya’s thoughts drift every now and then back to you; did your bruises heal? He still wishes to apologize to you, for angering you, for annoying the crap out of you, hell, for even calling you ‘sweetheart.’ Chūya’d run through the entire city if it meant you could be his, and he wonders now if leaving the life of a mobster behind is a path open to him.
“People with likened minds, who share sorrows, or tales of hardships, will gravitate toward the other,” Chūya whispers this to the nothingness of the cold concrete walls of the cell.
Tonight he will play nice with the guards, tomorrow, he’ll stop by the tailor’s shop hoping against all odds you’d join him for tea.
A sudden crash and surprised shouts of the guards outside the highly defended unit for the Gifted can be heard about thirty feet away. There is gunfire and even more shouts as the sirens blare.
Turns out, Chūya doesn’t have to wait for long at all. If there is one thing you’d learn about Chūya and his subordinates in the Port Mafia is that they are loyal to the elders for as long as they are willing to obey. Under Akutagawa’s orders, Chūya was supposed to be freed one way or the other and the current Boss would clear up any misunderstandings calling it a ‘peaceful protest’ gone awry on local news that late evening.
Currently, Chūya rides in the back of a taxi, finally changed out of the tragic sham of a jumpsuit, with his faithful hat in tow. Forty city blocks are cleared in a matter of minutes as the getaway cab had it’s driver and passenger breaking the speed limit within normal parameters so as to not disturb the citizens (best they can). Yet, the driver is a familiar face and though Chūya claims he never wanted his help, Dazai just smiles away in the rearview mirror.
“Make up with my old-new friend,” Dazai has a serious expression on his face. “YN-san hasn’t been dealing well with the new regulations for the GIfted and might have been found out tonight.”
A bandaged hand throws back a smartphone with the article of business listings with gifted employee members both known and unregistered ones. The tailor’s shop is listed there within the first column, in the middle of said list, and Chūya swallows nervously. His hat is upon his head when Dazai pushes the brakes too hard. Chūya doesn’t say a word until he opens and slams the door shut behind him yelling a word of thanks over his shoulders as he runs the rest of the way.
It is nearly eleven at night when you’re about to exit the store when you hear a pounding on the front glass. All those early hens had decided to leave early once their latest projects were done, so it was just you who had left the cashiering duties until the end of the night. The lock for the safe had already been bolted, your apron had been hung up almost immediately after the last customer left for the night, so imagine your surprise when you see what, or rather, who, was making such a ruckus.
You roll your eyes, not ready to deal with this jerk on the other side of the glass. Suffice to say, until he types out a message on his smartphone and holds it up to the window:
‘Open up. I think my hat needs a repair…Please?’
You read as promptly as you can before unlocking the front. Chūya passes through with ease and he hides in the corner of the shop away from the searchlights of helicopters and other law enforcement vehicles flashing their sirens down the quiet streets. He waits for a fifth police car to ride past before reaching over to where you stood, holding on to your hand with his gloved one. He holds it as firmly as you hold on to him, a worried brow raised at him. You know what you want to ask, however, you acknowledge there will be time to explain everything from the top when the coast is clear. With his free hand he makes a sign to stay as silent as possible to move within the shadows of your shop, guiding you back to the offices where the soft glow of the desk lamp lit the back office.
“You got any alcohol?” Chūya inquires as he motions for you to have a seat.
“No, only coffee,” you shrug your shoulders before running a hand nervously through your hair.
“Bah, I don’t drink the stuff, but I suppose you might enjoy it,” Chūya says, leaning on your desk.
You glance up from his shoes to his face, you notice he might not be as tall as you recall from a few days ago, yet he is strikingly, robustly, handsome. Sure, a few patrons of the store did have their preset preferences, but now, in the late evening, amidst the glow of the lamp, does one Chūya Nakahara tell you about his life both before, during, and after meeting Dazai. You sit back and listen, fixing yourself another cup of coffee as he comes clean about every little detail he could think of about Dazai’s time within the Mafia family.
“...and that’s why I stopped here earlier last weekend…”
“Because you had a mission in the next town over?”
“No,well, not really.”
Chūya hands you a note in Dazai’s script instructing the red head to keep an eye on a person who looks like the composite sketch the note is written on. The sketch must have been made by one of those with a gift for sketching or one of the many who can recall with photographic memory the countenance of a person with only a few descriptors to go by.
“Uncanny, ain’t it?” Chūya chuckles when he sees your lips turn slightly upward.
“There is something written on the bottom, right?” you ask, seeing a few light pen parks on the bottom left of the page. Rounding the corner by the desk your company leans against, you take a final sip of your beverage before joining him on the side there. Chūya still holds the sketch in his hand.
You and Chūya are in close proximity to each other, so much so your lips graze his jaw when you read the inscription to him.
“Stick together.”
Chūya turns to you suddenly, not realizing how close you truly were because though he felt your lips graze his jaw, he was not expecting his own to become pressed to the top of yours so suddenly. It takes a half a minute to realize what had transpired, yet you don’t push him away, much to his surprise. Rather, you pursue his lips again the moment you feel his free hand turn your chin more toward his face. He wishes to heal some wounds of your past over and over again the longer you let him linger there.
“Is your arm ok?” he deftly asks, placing the paper on your desk so as to trace over the yellowing marks covered by your shirt sleeve.
“Mmhm,” you nod against his forehead. “I think it’ll heal faster if you kiss it.”
“Hah,” Chūya pecks the corner of your mouth, sneakily raises your injured arm to his shoulder. “Are you flirting with me dear?”
You shake your head, defending your innocence. “I wasn’t the one who leaned in first. Heh.”
Rolling his eyes, Chūya smirks before peppering your arm where he had his hand been wrapped, clearly smitten by the sudden attention he was given. You tried to hide behind your blush, yet he genuinely smiles when he pauses, curling his forefinger to trace your cheekbone.
“You’re much more beautiful than I thought,” he confides in you.
You’re still a few inches shorter than he is, but nonetheless you relish in delight, thus causing a small number of thread people to be created on a whim. Purple satin ribbons with a star design are soon being fabricated as a secondary option to the tarnished yellowing one on the hat at the furthest corner of the table.
“And you’re not as lethal when you’re docile like this,” you let him kiss your knuckles before you shy away.
Chūya presses his forehead against your own, taking a deep breath leaving your hand against his shoulder. Closing his eyes, he exhales.
“Stick together,” you say to each other like a secret.
Sirens and search parties can be dealt with in the morning, for now, you enjoy this slice of paradise for as long both of you can.

Drummer Lucy M. will forever live rent free in my head. She'd be so cool, and pretty I love her. She would start taking lessons from an early age, taking her time until she could play it like second nature. Mark would've taken two weeks of lessons alongside her (shhh ik it won't make sense given the timeline and how they would probably still be in Canada, and a town near the Mississippi but shhh) because he thought it'd make him look cool, but gave up too soon, and went on to be an amazing self proclaimed musician, trying multiple genres because he can't choose one (he's actually has pretty good vocal range, but his ego is infuriating to those close to him. His outfits are usually made for fan service, and Lucy, his twin in everything but blood, makes fun of him 'You look like a hotdog mascot abshshksb'.)
Atsushi would look so good with a saxophone. He'd be under training for a while since his skills are pretty rusty at best, but his potential is there, with Fukuzawa, and Naomi having complete faith in him from the start. He gets his debut a few months later. His signature haircut grows out a little until it looked decent (looks like the one in beast), he usually wore caps, hoods, a hat like tricky's from subway surfers, or maybe have it pulled back with multiple bobby pins. His popularity skyrockets after a few performances, and let me tell you the people love this albino.
The Guild productions™ is an international agency with it's main branch in America, they attempted to recruit Atsushi into their ranks, using underhanded tricks, nearly succeeding for a little over a week before their Japanese branch nearly went bankrupt, courtesy of souheki; they had to give up Atsushi, and Lucy left along with him to work as a barista in the Agency's favorite cafe, rumours about her are spreading like rapid fire, and she tries to act like she couldn't care less (She has had a little bit of a break down when too many people gave her judgemental stares at the grocery store.). Louisa A, the Guild's manager, manages to pull them, and the president, steadily rebuilding their reputation. They'll never go back to their prime days in Japan though.
The Violinists of the show would be Mōri, Dazai (former), Akutagawa (former), and Yōsano.
Akutagawa would've been a very capable violinist in the past, and continued to play despite Dazai's absence in hope of proving himself to him. Chūya, and Gin convinced him to try something different after gaining Dazai's approval (something like what happened during the guild arc), and that's when he found out how well he went with a trombone. Don't question it. He'd look great with one, and by now he's on the fast track to finishing his treatment and getting cured from his lung illness, because he's actually receiving medical attention (courtesy of the black lizard + Higuchi and Chūya, and the fact that it isn't as severe as canon.). I also read somewhere that playing brass instruments helps with the lungs or something.
I can definitely see Kōyō playing either a flute or a harp with the 'Black Port' orchestra, having the Japanese biwa as a side hobby.
Oda's voice would be such heaven on earth to listen to. He was originally a genius in the music industry, having worked with multiple choirs, and collaborating with multiple artists, yet preferring to be a soloist. However, one day, he up and left the entertainment world behind at the age of sixteen without so much as a notice, only to return as a backstage assistant in the 'Black Port' orchestra, not drawing any attention to himself, and refusing to do anything music related if anyone asked. He left that same orchestra after three years due to unknown reasons, though it was rumoured to be related to an agency called 'Mimic', and the maestro (and violinist) of said orchestra. Dazai Osamu, 'The Black Dove of the Port', went off the grid weeks after that. He isn't recognisable at first sight, but people eventually catch on as he debuts with an electric guitarist under one of the country's best agencies two years later. He would mentor the younger recruits from time to time.
Fyodor's Cello should become a fic name if it already isn't.
Kunikida would be an electric guitarist fight me.
Chūya would've be one of the best vocalists in the industry, being an on and off member with the 'Black Port' until he turned 15, officially joining as a snare drum player. He gets assigned to practice with a group that called themselves 'The Flags', they are still alive, happy, and well (I am definitely not escaping reality leave me alone). He was the former drummer, and lead singer with a band of outcast kids during his middle school years because I said so, and he attended lessons with Michizō because redheads solidarity. (Sheep disbanded teen rock band real?!)
Nathaniel might have basic knowledge of how to play an organ because why not??
Kyōka would be a natural pianist, a prodigy in the making, with Kōyō, and Atsushi fighting for the spot of 'biggest fan'. She was recruited by Atsushi despite Kōyō's complete refusal; she came around eventually, and started being more supportive of her growing on her own.
Kenji country music artist Miyazawa got scouted by Fukuzawa after watching him preform beautifully in the middle of a market. Everyone at the performance was smiling uncontrollably, even Fukuzawa being affected. He can play the ukulele, and a normal guitar too.
Yōsano would continue her violin career after quitting lessons with Mōri, but under Fukuzawa's agency. She was proud of her capability, and recognizing it as her own, still flinching slightly at the mention of her former mentor. (He didn't SA her get your mind out the gutter you weirdos, he was just too strict, and his methods weren't conventional, or suitable for eleven years olds)
Naomi is the agency's esteemed manager, and Haruno is Fukuzawa's direct secretary.
Rampo would be an enigma in his own right, one of the best directors that created revolutionary master pieces throughout the 21st century. The agency was founded to support his child acting career, and to serve as a somewhat safe home for him, before he decided to become a director. His reputation is a mix of good and bad, mostly speaking of his random schedules, and sweet tooth, but he couldn't care less. He only starts new projects when he's in the right mood, he's unpredictable like that. He's close friends with one of the Guild's members that specializes in mystery movies, specifically focused on psychological horror; they cause trouble together a lot despite how usually unsociable the latter is.
Jun'nichirō plays on the keyboard, and his audience loves his awkward + cute personality; he's besties with Atsushi, and is always either seen with him, or Kenji. The audience know of him having a sister, but overprotective big brother Juni would never allow her to appear on stage, much less allow the audience to know her name (no incest crap this is a slightly happier life without Abilities)
I could go on but I'm lazy :>

Hc that because Dazai and Chuuya are somewhat okay with each other (i.e. the whole four years now that they've reconciled in soukoku ways) the ADA now has a sugar daddy that is Chuuya who stepped inside the building with his black card to throw a bento to Dazai and promptly said "Wtf, you guys work like this?"
Chuuya has been hailed as a god in ADA. Even the President likes him because Chuuya built a cat room because of how many cats began to appear after Chuuya bought cat food for the president.
There is now another friendly war between the Port Mafia and the ADA. And that is who gets to have Chuuya for the majority of the day.
Chuuya is blissfully unaware while Dazai is cackling.

an excerpt from what might be called... Rinne Amagi and the Dark Era, if you will.
alternatively: ibara struggle tweet
----------
“Your Excellency.”
Nagisa flips the page of his novel. “This is a fascinating story, Ibara.” He takes a sip of tea.
“I’m sure it is, Your Excellency.” Ibara sounds caught off guard. “Really, it’s very important that we talk about this, I must insist you put the novel down for a moment.”
“I suppose you must,” Nagisa says mildly. He continues reading. It was a very compelling novel he had picked up: the story is about an assassin who wants to be a novelist, but feels like he is not qualified. “Ibara, do you think one has to be ‘qualified’ to be a human?”
Ibara splutters. “I’m sure I wouldn’t—really, shouldn’t—” He nearly crumples the paper in his hands, but sets it down on the table instead, a little harder than necessary. “Why don’t you ask His Highness?”
Nagisa sighs over his cup of tea. “You really must stop being jealous of Hiyori,” he reminds Ibara.
“I am not—”
“What’s the news you wanted to talk about?” Nagisa interrupts.
