AIKA (Love / Elegy)

I sang and recorded this in several hours of karaoke sessions over two days during the summer. my throat was very sore throughout, and I caught a fever after that, but I think it was halfway worth it.

I wrote the lyrics myself.

the music is from a certain song that you may very well have heard of (okay, yes, it's a parody of "Love Story").

It was record with mobile phones.

I really do not know how audio editing works.

the song is a bit high for my vocal range "comfort zone", also like I said my throat got very sore after the first few times (and because it's my own lyrics, I needed some tries to adjust to singing the entire thing)

the album picture you see above is a piece of fanart, drawn by me, of Himena Aika and San Kagura. it is not that directly connected to the content in this song (since this song is technically more about Himena and Hiko) but it feels like an idol album cover sort of thing if that makes sense lmao.

While the song was written for a certain Magia Record fanfic of mine, you 100% don't need to have read the fic (or even know MagiReco, really) to listen to it lol

“The drowning of a girl named Lynn”

The girl called lynn, played the violin. Grey hair, flowy dress, roses ‘round her neck, blue eyes that seemed to hold secrets- secrets that went beyond what mankind knew. Untamed curls blew in the wind as she stood on the cliff, and for a brief moment, i thought her for a mermaid, the way she fit into the scenery

Ghost or girl, whos to say/that i am not a spirit anyway/ i dont know if i survived the river that wanted to take me, maybe i carry it inside of me, a piece of wilderness that wont ever be still, tears made from sweetwater fall from my eyes

Memories of her past were scarce, she remembered being born and living close by the water, how she used to collect shells to put on her walls, how the sea always seemed to call her, and her mother warning her to avoid the river- a nymph lives there, she said. In lynns Eyes, i saw the river myself, the waves of the sea, she smelled like sand and salt

There lived a nymph in The river, lynn told me, and i believe it pulled me in-not to hurt me, but to protect me. Away I Ran, deemed a siren or a witch by some, a accusation as baseless as footsteps in the sand when the tide approached, but men made it, so it was seen true- a tear Rolls down Her face, as beautiful as a pearl

Maybe i became one with the river,taking the place of the nymph before me- i feel the call öf the water, i want to flow with it, be as free as the waves are!

They said id lire men to their death, i told them it was all lies, my parents had dued awhile ago and they claimed i lurdered them, so to the river i ran, i called out for help, any help would do! I have left shells and other trinkets at the river befire, and i used to sing to it when i felt as if it was upset, this now payed off, k went into the river and was pulled under, i gasoed- and looked into the most beautiful face ive seen, clear, pale, shining, eyes as black as night.she-she put a finger to my lips adn went to the surface, while i sank.and sank….then i lost my senses and woke up later, on the side of the river, feeling newborn, she finished, and it had started to rain. I didnt notice, she had captured me, i now understood why people fell in love with rivers and seas, the beauty of lynn reminded me of them..
