Was speaking with my partner about Overlord and he mentioned some stuff I wasn't familiar with. I'm on Novel 12 and he only watched the anime... So I'm thinking, maybe it happened and I forgot, or the anime took liberties.

Turned it on a few days later to rewatch the anime and OmEYGAWD is that hard to sit through. The vibes are so different T.T

The novel is more serious, gritty and the anime... is powertrip and harem vibes and lowkey cringe. How??! The main events are the same but the Presentation ✨️ is not.

Anyways, I did not sit through that. The Discrepancy we spoke about shall remain a mystery to me.

I call this the Worlds Peerless Beauty AU

It all started because the developers of YGRASILL decide "let's have a beauty contest!" In which players voted for who they think is either the most attractive or beautiful player avatar

Ainz Ooal Gown to not be undone come together and start to brainstorm who to put

At first they think of Bukubukushagama because she has the voice , then they wake up and remember that most people wouldn't find a pink slime attractive

The they go through the other fem presenting members and well ...

Yamaiko looks like she will pummel someone to the ground

And the less said about Ankoro Mocchi Mochi the better

Then Peroroncino has the bright idea to put Momo-can , because everyone loves him

To Momonga dismay everyone else in the guild agrees , so majority vote

And so Ainz Ooal Gown goes head first and full steam into putting Momonga out there

By the time the voting came almost everyone knew that Momonga the adorable skeleton is more than just the guild leader of Ainz Ooal Gown

And say what you will about YGRASILL player being Heteromorphphobic but even they can agree that a skeleton getting the title of Worlds Peerless Beauty would be hilarious

And so in parts doo to players :

- actually falling for Momonga

- being a monster fucker

- being a troll

- being the only contestants most people recognize

Momonga got the title in a rather big majority vote (the second place had close to 3x less votes)

The title allows for a rare class called Peerless Beauty that's kinda overpowered , and because they are Ainz Ooal Gown they start to abuse it (the fact it allows Momonga to charm even otherwise not possible character is a BIG bonus)

But times goes on

And then we get the start of the story

Except now you have Ainz not only as the undisputed ruler of Nazarick but also as the undisputedly most beautiful thing there is

Because the Carne Village situation ? He got the villagers blushing , the enemy attackers blushing , Gazef blushing , Gazef's men blushing and the Sunlight Scripture blushing . And they all are blushing like it's a sport . His mere presence makes people questioning either their sexuality, morality or sense of beauty

Being Momon (with the armor and it's dampening effect) only somewhat negates that , more specifically it just makes it so people need to either look closer or be around him more to get the same effect . Remember the scout dude that made a rude comment about Ainz's aperance ? Yeah here he says that Nabe is beautiful in a cold , exotic and unique to see way , while Momon has a warm everyday type of beauty that slowly but steadily grows on you . And Evil Eye is even more lovesick that canon

Ad the moment the mask comes of is when people are hit the hardest :

Jirchiv is even more convinced that Ainz is GOD (he is probably gonna convert soon)(he is also one of the only people NOT having a sexuality crisis because he knows what he is , that being sapiosexual)

Neia is even more sure Ainz is GOD and acts as such (the religion is spreading even quicker)(Neia is also one of the only other people who aren't having a sexuality crisis over Ainz ,because she had her's from Shizu)

The Elf King wants to make babies (and is getting his ass beat)(power hungry madman what can you do ?)

Rener is having a breakdown because she thought she only liked Climb that way and is having a sexuality crisis

Climb is going through a sexuality crisis of his own because he thought he only had feelings for Rener

Zaryusu and Crusch are not only also in a sexuality crisis but are also contemplating opening their marriage to also include Lord Ainz if he so wishes

Brain is having his second biggest sexuality crisis (the first was from Gazef , so he knew he liked powerful men what he just didn't know was that he liked powerful men even and if they are skeletons)

Filip (being an idiot) thought that Ainz had a crush on him and decided to do all that (for some no name noble) . Filip decide he quite likes both him and Albedo and wouldn't mind having her as their shared mistress (he is getting send to Neuronist for the blasphemy he committed)

Remedios thinks Ainz is even extra evil because he is that beautiful

Zanac is like "I talked to GOD , and he is a really cool and down to earth guy" , granted he died but still got the respect of both the world strongest and most beautiful person and in just one conversation

Platinum Dragon Lord is contemplating kidnapping Ainz(and maybe taking him as his bride) and keeping him in his castles like he is a dragon from a fairy tale (dragons kind inborn skill to be able to judge how much something cost are going overdrive trying to calculate how beautiful Ainz is)

One of the fun parts in this is that people who wouldn't be attracted to him sexuality won't be attracted they just see him as someone extremely beautiful , and if someone argues let me ask you . Do you get horny while watching a sunset ?

Presenting…! An short overview of Seraphim SB's general information!

It wasn't mentioned in the original ask, but Seraphim SB is the heteromorphic race ‘Angel’ and has gotten to the maximum evolution and level, reaching the class of ‘Seraph’. I thought of a passive trait of theirs being that they have a natural holy aura around them that purifies anything within a certain distance of them. And by anything, I mean, living and non-living things.

As mentioned in the previous ask their aura harms those of undead or demonic origin, steadily chipping away at the health of those who are at the same level or higher and hacking away at the health of those of lower levels. The effect of Seraphim SB's aura is so powerful that even Ainz has to step away from them after a while after seeing his health become three-quarters of what it was just an hour ago.

As said above, Seraphim SB is a Seraphim; in angelology, Seraphim represents light, ardor (enthusiasm & passion), and purity. This would mean, after a little while in the new world their overall demeanor would become incredibly positive, bright, and enthusiastic.

The positivity they hold never dissipates even in the most serious or depressing situations, as their mind no longer allows them to feel negative emotions; their racial qualities completely blacking them out. They'll also take on a strange sense of innocence that makes those around them feel an irrational need to protect them from certain things and people. Seraphim SB's positivity also affects those around them, driving being into an almost deranged happiness if they stick around too long.

Because of Seraphim SB's holy origin, most if not all of the spells, skills & abilities they use are also of holy origin. Their particular skill is somewhat similar to a command order, but it's strictly directed at other angels. This skill, ‘Buisine’, allows players of the seraphim class to issue irrevocable commands to those of the angel race that are ten levels or less below them. Not only that, but angels and other holy beings have a natural want to follow, serve, and protect seraphim as they are usually a sign that a God is nearby.

It's already been established that Seraphim SB is the law of Nazarick; they are the judge and sometimes the executioner. But, who's the jury? Seraphim SB has two NPCs who act as their jury, each one is of a race that can split themselves into multiple consciousnesses with a maximum of six. They give off the appearance that each part has its own thoughts on each case, but in reality, they all share the same thoughts, goals, and morals stem from Seraphim SB. So to be clear, the “jury” is also Seraphim SB. It was also mentioned in another ask I received, but they can summon a sort of instant domain in the form of a grand courtroom that can seat thousands.

Let's talk about Seraphim SB and their relationship with others in Nazarick!

As stated in the previous post, Seraphim SB pays the arch-devil no real mind. They usually ignore most of the people around in favor of having a constant internal celebration instead. What do they celebrate about, you ask? Anything. Back on topic– Because Seraphim SB is physically and mentally incapable of having negative thoughts and opinions anymore, they usually fail to see the wrong in anyone's words or actions.

Demiurge wants to take over the world in the name of Ainz and themself and also happens to be kidnapping humans and doing unspeakable things to them at the Happy Farm? Okay! Sounds great! Shaltear was brainwashed and is fighting Ainz? That's awesome, Seraphim SB is rooting for both of them! Albedo wants to hunt down and kill any other players she finds? Cool! They're wishing her luck! 

Seraphim SB is also incapable of reprimanding and forgiving others, they can't identify that any wrong has been committed and because of that, have no reason to punish or forgive them. That may make you wonder how they can accurately judge others when they commit a crime against Nazarick, but they trust that the book of laws that Ainz gave them is correct and they abide by it without fail. They also have Albedo, Demiurge, and their NPCs to point them in the right direction when it's needed.

Because they trust so readily and are easily manipulated by others, Demiurge, lucky for him, has been assigned to Seraphim SB as a sort of protector and a balance to their morals.

I wish critique of colonialism and feudalism in westeros was more welcome in the asoiaf fandom, considering the books are literally critiques of medieval and fictional politics. At first I called this the lizard skely au but we need a better name so Overlord In The Swamps AU it is

So this all started because I'm finally reading(or more so listening) the light novels and I'm on the lizardman arc and remembered why it is my favorite

And so I decided to make an au and thought why only have Crush and Zaryusu as the couple when we can also add Momonga (and then later on I got reminder that Zenberu exist and said fuck it we are adding him in too)

So we now have this

It starts with Momo having gone out to fire fireworks and ending up in the new world a few years before the start of canon

Momo after having come to the conclusion he was in fact Isekai-ed decides to travel and explore the world

And while traveling he meets Zaryusu who has also just started to travel

By a series of events the two become travel companions

While traveling Zaryusu and Momonga start to develop romantic feelings for each other

With Momonga trying to suppress his feelings like he did with Touch Me before , because of his abysmal self estime and thinking nobody will ever love him

Zaryusu on the other hand is going through a roller coaster discovering that he is in fact not straight , because he thought he liked women from his species but the first person he fully fell in love with is both not a lizardman and not a woman . He is hoping his ancestors (or just anyone really) will guide him on how to express his feelings to Momonga

At some point Zaryusu succeeds in confession , resulting in Momo's brain doing a reboot and trying to comprehend someone loving him , and loving him romantically at that

After Momonga finally comprehending that Zaryusu is in fat in love with him and returns his feeling they start to date each other

Along with Zaryusu having to sit through a very long and detailed explanation of safe sex , sexual identity and gender identity (Zaryusu is a little surprised that a undead who is for all intense and purposes ace knows soo much about sex and how it's shapes the world for both good and bad , but then again its Momo so that makes sense)(Momo having had to deal with his guldmates is surprisingly informed on a lot of topics , especially ones that society might consider as taboos)

And so they continue to travel learning different things like how to farm fish , how strong people are and the overall political situation (also having Momo run experiments on people he meets that do very morally questionable things and learning how his skills work here)

Then at some point they go back to Zaryusu tribe , and having Zaryusu explain why he has a (presumably) elder lich with him as his travel companion

Its the start of the comedy that comes after it , like Momo refusing to be off Rororo more than nesesery because he sinks(no matter what he unequips he still skinks) in the swamp unless he constantly cast a fly spell that unfortunately unnerves the tribesman , Zaryusu having to explain that the very powerful lich is his boyfriend or that the ridiculous amount of undead that Momonga are here because he has started commanding them to build him a base in the Great Forest to store his gunk in . The lizardmen are in for a ridiculously big culture shock

After a few years things have become somewhat calmer on the tribe end with no one trying to purify the undead (or Momo) anymore

Then the Slane Theocracy tries to conquer and enslave the lizardmen , so the Lizardmen Alliance still forms albeit with the undead this time on their side

So Momo and Zaryusu go and try to make the alliance for the freedom of lizardmen kind and they meet the Red Eye acting chef and like cannon it makes Zaryusu question his sexuality (he and Momo come to the conclusion they might both be poly) , to the surprise of both os then she does find them charming and agrees to travel with them (and date them) and while not as fast as in canon she does fall for both of them (and later on their other boyfriend)

Then after that they go to Dragon Tusk and like canon Zaryusu and Zenberu beat the crap out of each other (the magic casters are on the side and contemplating why are they idiots) , after that Zaryusu is again going into a sexuality crisis because why does he suddenly find so many hot people all at once ?

Anyway the reparations go somewhat like in canon except they have Guild War Veteran of World Cass Momonga on the meeting so their tactics are horrifyingly efficient , and they also have him as their ace in the sleeve and while he would need to stay hidden to use him in case something extreme happens he can still buff people (and his buffs are ridiculously strong in comparison to those of other people)

The Theocracy tried their shit and not only didn't it work they got their ass wiped . Then they decided to use the a Godkin and practically forced Momo to use magic more specifically his favorite spell [Grasp Heart] that they can't block (because it's 9th tier and 7 is already in the realm of gods let alone 9th)

As you can imagine the Theocracy got beaten not only to submission but also had their corpses used to make undead with the Godkin used to make a higher tier undead that what Momonga normally makes here

The reason they even know about that plan is because of Carne Village that had became Zaryusu and Momo's favorite place to trade after Momo subjugated the Wise King Of The Forest while they were going home

So you can imagine Momo's ire when he learned his favorite date spot and favorite trading place was attacked (also Enri got 3 Goblin General's Horns because he actually knows her and isn't stingy on HIS people's protection)

The Sunlight Scripture got their ass beaten and Gazef was utterly impressed (the idiots in the king's court don't understand just how lucky they are the as of yet not formed nation didn't decide that what they said is national offence , especially since their prime minister is right there on the meeting as the princess)

I could probably continue but I didn't think I have enough information about the new world at the moment to more accurately shape the au so we're stoping here at the moment

The night expeditions in Pikmin 4 have the odd side effect of making me sad about how the Overlord games died, because a tower defense lite mode would have also fit with Overlord. When the premise is being an evil Overlord, defending your tower just makes sense.
