charlie/tom riddle? mr “dragon breeding is outlawed by the blah blah blah” would be the one person who would be genuinely thrilled to sit through tom riddle’s six hour lecture on basilisks and would immediately respond with “okay now where can we get one 🥺🥺🥺🥺”
this would leave hundreds dead and so i should back it entirely, but i am wedded to the headcanon that lord v is very much not an outdoorsy person.
charlie's idea of romance is a multi-day hike in the peak district. it ends with him getting pushed into a ravine and tmr checking into the nearest spa.

Prompt: Western
@wolfstarmicrofic - 206 words
The man stepping out of the stagecoach – he looks like he doesn't belong here. No wear on the hands, no skin tanned until it looks like the sand. Baby-face too. Remus has seen a lot of them. Marshals from east, thinking their mere presence here will bring Tom Riddle and his outlaws to heel.
“How long do you think?” Remus asks Marlene. As the local saloon owner she would know. Also, she is basically the only person who speaks to him, the cripple, let's him play piano for money.
Before she can answer, the Lestranges have already caught up, heading for the man to “play” with him.
But what was supposed to be a quick and merciless beating, goes all wrong. The man moves quick like a snake, kicking the feet from under Rabastan and breaking Rodolphus' nose with his elbow. “Tell your boss that Albus Dumbledore send his best. He can give up. Or take it up with me.” He even looks elegant through all of it, and Remus' heart beats up his throat.
More so, when he comes over. “My apologies. May I rent a room?” Marlene is quick to agree, but to Remus it seems the stranger is smiling at him.

What’s the most shocking actor range you’ve seen in Starkid? Mine has to go to Dylan Saunders. In starship, he played Pincer, a sadistic and obviously evil scorpion, and in the same show plays Tootsie Noodles, a simple yet sweet country bumpkin, then in BF goes on to play Tom, a PTSD riddled father who just wants to make his son happy, and then in Twisted, he plays the mountain of a character that Ja’far is.
Mine is probably also Dylan, Jafar is one of my favorite characters of all time. I’d say he’s closely tied with Joey Richter for me though. He’s just so good at bringing these different characters to life. The difference in character between Ron and Ted is amazing, it’s kind of hard to see them as the same actor. And Bug is a personal favorite Joey character of mine, who just wants to achieve his dreams and become a Starship Ranger. And then you switch to him playing someone like McDoon, this silly yet deadly outlaw. I think TTO really just shows Joey’s range as an actor. He plays an outlaw, an ox, and a screwy general store guy and all these characters are so distinct, which is in part to the writing but also to Joey’s amazing portrayals of them. Joey characters are just always a joy to watch, he brings so much energy to all of his parts and I appreciate him a lot for that

Deimos and running from the dark for the wip tag game!! Love ur works
I think I’m nearing the final act of Deimos! It’s a thrilling thought. We are currently at 156 thousand words. Here’s a little snippet from Ch. 30.
>>>
The items the room conjured could only exist within its walls. Tom learned that the moment he tried taking Secrets of the Darkest Art to his dormitory. The book vanished from his hands the moment he stepped into the corridor, but it was better this way. Harry could not discover that he’d learned the steps to making Horcruxes. He didn’t even risk taking notes. The safest place was his mind. Occlumency was added to his private, extracurricular course studies.
With each passing day, the plan solidified in shape. It sprouted from his heart, growing thick leaves of pointed ivy, coiling around his spine, rooting along the lifeblood of his veins, reaching down to his fingers and toes. Its buds plumped with confidence and grew fat on sureness, but they could not bloom yet. Not yet. Harry wasn’t ready yet.
>>>
Running from the Dark is yet another story that was inspired by Kelly Link. I’m still trying to nail this one down. The title comes from this line in Zella Day’s song The Outlaw Josey Wales:
Storm's coming and you've been running from the dark clouds
Link’s story The Lady and the Fox is the core inspiration. In it, the protagonist meets a young man standing out in the snow during a Christmas get-together. He looks very out of place and clearly wants to go inside, but can’t. He vanishes the moment the snow stops. This repeats as the main character grows older. When it snows, during the holiday, he shows up, and she ends up falling in love with him and frees him from the curse that keeps in frozen in time.
In Running from the Dark, I’m imagining a non-magic setting where Tom is raised by his parents in Riddle House. My personal headcanon, if such a thing occurred, is that Tom would not have the most loving of childhoods. I picture Tom Sr. choosing to take care of his son and wife more out of duty or public shame rather than love. I always imagine him rather cold and uncaring and his parents even more so. So Tom in this setting is often left to his own devices and ignored.
During one of the Christmas parties his father and grandparents are putting on (I think I will put Tom’s mother in a mental institute while he’s at a young age, but we’ll see), Tom grows bored with the festivities (he’s gonna by young, maybe 11?) and returns to his room. While reading in bed, his door opens and a guest slips inside. The guest is clearly hiding from someone or something and snaps at Tom when Tom demands to know why he’s in his room. And why he’s dressed like a girl.
“It’s a robe,” the man will reply. “Not a dress.”
“Looks like a dress to me.”
As Tom grows up, he’ll come across the man multiple times and will discover who he is and the rules that he is forced to follow and why he’s scared of getting caught by the Dark.
Like I said, the structure and plot of this story are very flexible at the moment. I was flirting with the idea that Harry is able to appear where Tom happens to be (when he’s at school or living abroad), but recently I’ve become more attracted to the idea of keeping him rooted at Riddle House and following the threads of Link’s story. I’ve had multiple Riddle House-based ideas that don’t have enough oomph to bloom into a story, but this one might be able to. I’ve always loved the idea of there being two versions of something. Two versions of Riddle House existing side by side and Harry is able to bridge the gap and Tom, like his mother, is able to see him while no one else can. Or perhaps, he’s able to remember him, when no one else can … I’m reading another book that’s all about not being able to remember a person so that’s on my brain at the moment.
It might also be a cooler and more horrid idea to make the festivities happen on New Year’s Eve. The idea of his father and grandparents blatantly ignoring his birthday in favor of a very stuffy and boring party of the high elites would fit very well with their attitude. And it would be fun for Tom to have a birthday mystery/visitor that he looks forward to every year.

[HERE'S AN IDEA THAT'S NOT YET A PITCH YET THIS TIME IT'S ACTUALLY A GOOD AND INTERESTING ONE]
Vigilante: Anarchy
What is it —
An action-adventure, third-person shooter that deals in modern day outlaws, gangsters, drug operations and criminals.
PREMISE:
Set in the fictional Byron City, New York, the game follows Franklin Beaumont, an experienced Punisher-type crime fighting vigilante who's in his first year and yet has already made a name for himself with the criminal underworld and police department. A mysterious force that leaves bodies hanging, riddled with bullets, he's now the only person for the job of taking back the city now that a series of violent riots has lead to the criminals, gangs and mobs taking over two entire sections of said city.
NOTES/TRIVIA/DETAILS:
• When it comes to the character of Franklin Beaumont, he will be voiced by Tom Hardy and his backstory for the most part will be kept ambigious with some of the few things we know on him are he was once a high-ranking officer in the Marine Corps, the captain of the BCPD and that his family who he had a troubled and dysfunctional relationship with were killed in cold blood in a robbery gone wrong.
• The game will be a very hard MA rating. While they're won't be swearing non-stop every one or two minutes, the violence will be brutal, creative and visceral. But at the same time, it won't be just non-stop gun shooting. I want there to be actual variety in stealth, how you kill people and the hand-to-hand combat.
• As for who makes the game, that's easy. It's Hundred Stars Games. The new company from the former founders of Rocksteady, this is basically the hard R version of Arkham City and even Origins even though they didn't make the latter.
• Now this should be interesting — I have in mind who should do the score and that's the underrated as hell Christopher Drake with him giving it the same epic and blood-pumping music of Origins in a new setting.
• Another thing that should be interesting is all of the easter eggs and secrets, some of them will be flat-out references either direct or blatant that heavily imply a retroactive shared universe with other media that shows there's more to this world than a former U.S. marine and cop-turned-vigilante. For example, when hacking into a boat in a certain district and the shipyard, you can discover a secret lair where you find a new and improved black Survey Corps uniform, a crown, a red flowing cloak and several photos of two women (presumably in a relationship) doing several things together — it's Mikasa Ackerman and Historia Reiss.

A Fate Worse Than Death
A Fate Worse Than Death https://ift.tt/bcaL4NE by PicklePost Exposing muggles to the wizarding world led to Chaos. Tom Riddle took advantage of this and rose to power. Establishing a community of his elite and most loyal supporters, he banished all remaining wizards to live amongst muggles within the remaing Districts. Wands were outlawed in the Districts and any use of magic is considered treason and punishable by death. The Hunger Games were established to remind the Districts of the cost of war. A boy and girl must be offered up as tribute by each District; only this time, both muggle and magical children compete in the same arena. In a fight to the death, Hermione can't afford to lose. In a fight to the death, Draco won't let her. Words: 74, Chapters: 1/1, Language: English Fandoms: Harry Potter - J. K. INDEX • GUIDEBOOK • CANONS • WANTED • DISCORD
The end of the war begins with Bellatrix Lestrange's triumph over Albus Dumbledore, and a dark February for the Order of the Phoenix. It ends with the sudden, unexpected, death of Tom Riddle (alias Lord Voldemort), after Regulus Black's systematic seeking out and destroying of all of his once-lord's horcruxes. Finally, this tumultuous period has come to a close.
The war is over. The Death Eaters and Order of Phoenix alike have been dissolved, following the deaths of their leaders, and the Ministry has, graciously, offered clemency to all: everyone will be pardoned of actions committed during the war. It was a dark time, under the sway of two megalomaniacal wizards.
(Involvement in both groups or any offshoots thereof is outlawed, to only ensure this point further.)
It's a new year, finally, and it's time to wipe the slate clean.

Please tell me more about the whole generational trauma thing, cause its not talked about enough and I'm genuinely interested in what else you have to say about this <3
tumblr swallowed my entire reply :'') so i'm starting over and hopefully this time it will be shorter and more to the point
for the sake of this post, I am diving the characters into the following generations:
GT Gen (Golden Trio): Harry and his friends, Draco, the Weasley kids, Nymphadora etc
M Gen (Marauders): The MWPP, Black sisters, Snape, Lucius Malfoy etc
TR Gen (Tom Riddle): Riddle, Wal & Orion and their siblings, Abraxas Malfoy, Lyall Lupin, Effie and Monty Potter
E Gen (Elders): Dumbldore, Pollux and Arcturus Black, etc
There are several aspects to the kind of trauma I am talking about. There are more, of course, but I believe these are the main ones:
The Witch Hunts: often brushed off and disregarded as irrelevant due to how "old" they are. However, witch hunts in the UK haven't ended until the very end of 17th century/beginning of 18th. It was a literal genocide by the entire muggle population of Europe against a tiny minority of Wizarding families, so much bigger than all the wars put together. Considering we are told that the average life expectancy for wizards is much older than muggles (between 120 and 140 I believe, but in PS we are also told there are wizards as old as 500 and 700), the TR and E generations would grow up in families who still remember that. They are told stories how their great grandparents were burned at the stake. It's a lot of cultural and historic baggage for any family who lived through that and survived.
20th Century Wars: The Global Wizarding War (1910 to 1945); the First Wizarding War (1970 to 1981); the Second Wizarding War (1995 to 1998 on paper, but in reality the fear in tensions never really disappeared between 81 and 95). This goes beyond just terror and murder, this is persecution of followers (think of DEs knocking on every pure-blood's door like ding dong do you have a minute to talk about our Lord and Savior), this is living in constant fear that your loved ones might not return home, and certain generations (like Gen TR) literally knew no peaceful time at all, they were just tossed from one war to another.
Bloody Purity Culture: Stems from point 1 - witch hunts. This is the most by-the-book, typical, generational trauma response on a larger scale. When a minority group gets persecuted to the point of near genocide, the most natural reaction is to be hostile to the "oppressor" group and to distance yourself as far away as possible. The obsession with blood purity is deeply routed in the fear that if they let muggle-born kids in and muggles find out about the Wizarding World once more, history might repeat itself. Gens like E and TR have actual living relatives who still remember that.
Physical and Corporal Punishment at School and at Home: as I talked about it more deeply in the original post, it is mentioned by Filch that just like in the muggle world, Hogwarts had a corporal punishment system for a pretty big chunk of the 20th century. Phineas Nigellus Black was actually the Headmaster up until 1925, so it is likely that he either enstalled these laws, or enforced existing ones, which hints that the situation at home for most families like the Blacks was not any easier.
Use of Unforgivables at Home for Punishment/Training: The Unforgivable Curses actually were not categorized as such up until early 18th century, so the parents and grand parents of Gen E grew up with Unforgivables being used freely at home if not for punishment, then at least for resistance training. This kind of practice does not just die out upon being outlawed, it usually takes several generations, so we can safely assumed that Gen E and TR both grew up with curses like Cruciatus and Imperius being used at home at least for durability training, especially considering they were growing up in times of war.
So since I am a big fan of visual data, I even made an Excel table for you:
As you can see, Gens E and TR are the peak of generational trauma in this timeline. Especially TR, who lived through all three wars, fought in two of them at least, and also witnessed living memory of witch hunts, corporal punishment at schools and use of Unforgivables at home. It is no coincidence that Tom Riddle came exactly from this generation.
The thing about generational trauma that most people don't realise, is that when you grow up in a war, it's not just you - it's everyone, so nobody ever gets treated. When everybody has PTSD, then nobody really has PTSD, right?
These things leave lots of issues in people, each reacts in their own way to it, and this does not go away with one generation, even with lots of hard work and treatment, which neither generation ever got, except for maybe GT when it's finally all over.
This is why I'm so against painting characters like Dumbledore or the elder Blacks as strictly bad - these are deeply traumatised generations that carry previous gen's burdens as well as their own, they never had the chance to get treated, and it reflects on their kids as well.
#i will stop talking now#before tumblr decides to reload once more#asks#generational trauma#hp meta#marauders meta

Your favorite female fictional character?
This is a very hard and cruel question T.T
I chose my top3 female characters from my originals and fanfictions.
(from left to right)
1. Veronica Gyuradinovich from Tulips in the Cemetery {original}
Her surname is croation variation of my surname. She is a margravine in the Austro-Hungarian Empire in the 2370s. The story is a steampunk. She is stubborn and doesn't want to be married, but she falls in love with a grave-digger while a serial killer is killing people in Budapest. The hierarchy of rank, her injury and the killer make their lives more difficult. She inherited many traits from me: the intellectual, the emotional instability, the curiosity, the family situation, the attitude to the world. She's a rebel, but she's got morals and virtue.
2. Edahlia Sorensen from Blood of Yggdrasil {original}
She is a much-suffering character who first served the Empire, her fiancé was the Prince, then she saw the oppression and cruelty therefore committed treason. She was still needed to maintain the Empire, so she was not killed, but she was imprisoned for 10 years, where she was subjected to the most extraordinary tortures and brainwashed. As soon as she got out the King wants her to help, while the people want to see her as a rebel again, but she doesn't want to play either role. And in the meantime, his ex-fiancée shows up.
3. Natalia Szendrei from Just a drink {original}
OMG, I love her * - * She is very funny and clever and me :D She likes drinking, drawing, her job is chemist engineering which was mine too. I think she is the more open version of me.
Her story is that after a drunken night out, she suddenly starts seeing all men as women. And I love the connection between her and Robi, her staff member. (and alcohol...)
4. Scarlette Cowen from Conjuction {Twilight fanfiction}
She's been on my mind most of the time lately. I like her acceptance, her openmind, her wanting to help everyone as a doctor, she's not so naive, she's more realistic, resourceful and tenacious. She fights for herself, for her loved ones, lives in a modern world and yet she has to look back hundreds of years to become a witch. She know herself and knows what she want. I like the harmony between her and Carlisle, they complement each other.
5. Charlotte Bradwick from Legacy of the War {Peaky Blinders fanfiction}
She is a true survivor and friend, she went to the first world war after his platonic love and friend, where she lost a leg, but she was able to recover, return to home, Birmingham and enter the alcohol market in partnership with Shelby company. She lives her life and when the opportunity comes, she doesn't miss it, but she's not a pusher and manipulator however she can be cruel sometimes. She loves and wants Tommy, but knows she can't put pressure on him. She is very special.
6. Ludovica Siskovich from The devil doesn't sleep {Harry Potter fanfiction}
Ludovika was a good girl who was misunderstood, persecuted, and then captured and exploited by the Germans during the World War. Dumbledore was the only one who tried to help her, but he took her to Hogwarts but only to give her in the clutches of Tom Riddle. She was making great progress, Tom was increasingly exploiting her obscurity through his manipulations. She become a villain.
Sorry that I could't choose one :( I'd like to tell you about all my OCs in time :3
Who should I tell you about next? × Annabeth Outlaw - Marvel fanfiction × Ithya Lestrange - Harry Potter fanfiction (Golden trio era) × Vease Sargen - House of the Dragon fanfiction × Letisha Carnahan - The Mummy fanfiction × Nemezis - The Boys fanfiction × Lilith Blackburn - Wednesday × Wilma Hermann - D.Gray-man fanfiction × Ivy Lex - Now you see me fanfiction × Lysandra Harlowe - Game of Thrones fanfiction × Others in my original stories (× Sinthea Schmidt - Marvel fanfiction (I know, she is not an OC, but but I made a lot of changes to it compared to the comic) × Faith Fraser - Outlander x Poldark crossover (She is not an OC too, but she never grew up, so…)

Love Potions
I like to think that, once Hermione got to higher ranks in the Ministry, Ron told her about how he felt and Romilda’s love potion and she started a campaign to have love potions outlawed
Initially, it’s not taken seriously because “what’s the harm? It’s just a bit of fun. We’ve all given someone a love potion! It’s harmless”
But then witches and wizards who have been under the effects of a love potion give statements, describe the experience and how they had no control, comparing it to being Imperiused
And the papers start publishing stories of love potions, including the times when it certainly surpassed the likes of “just a bit of fun,” like that of Tom Riddle and Merope Gaunt
It takes a long time, but eventually the law is passed and love potions are declared dangerous substances

So it’s -40° C (Canadian vibes) today…
So I’m staying in bed and what do we think about Tom Riddle x Dark Western Outlaw. Real Billy the kid, gunfighter vibes. He’d totally still use his magic though, but I think he’d be discreet with it around the muggle cowboys. And ofc he’d definitely be handy with his pistol.
(Definitely more than 9 kills under Tommy’s wand though 🤭 )

The last ask I sent started getting out of hand, so I left the Snape's mount to that and here's the rest of the ideas that are set in Spaghetti Western Style AU (if anyone wants to use them, please feel free):
The town is called HogMeade - it's named for the two most historically influential families in town, the Hogs and the Meads, who didn't actually get along but tried to one-up each other via community projects. It's one of the gateway towns, so it's rather large.
The local military fort is Fort Phoenix, presided over by Sergeant Major Albus Dumbledore; he was promoted, in days gone by, for his capture of Grindelwald, and put in charge of Fort Phoenix out West to keep him from becoming a political threat by those in the East.
Minerva McGonagall is the next highest ranking officer at the fort. No one questions her rank or authority because she's earned both.
Flitwick is the sheriff of HogMeade; he's a sharpshooter, and has been teaching Snape the art. Flitwick has a normal-sized horse and does not need help climbing into the saddle, but he does have special stir-ups (bought from Weasley and Sons) to accommodate him while in saddle.
Hagrid is Flitwick's deputy; his Da was a fur-trapper, but he likes animals too much to take up the family business. He has a large draft horse and an older model of rifle that is prone to jamming. It's rumored he has a half brother in the Northeast.
Sprout and Pomfrey run the (more successful) doctor's office - Sprout makes the tinkers/ointments and handles day-to-day injuries and Pomfrey is the surgeon and mid-wife. Snape, who previously apprenticed with an apothecary, works here sometimes. They, sometimes, ask Hagrid to perform unofficial veterinarian services as well.
Pince is headmistress of the schoolhouse.
Trelawney works in the saloon; she's babbled at Snape the few times he's gone inside about his past catching up with him, so he stays clear of that specific saloon.
Sinistra, Burbage, and Hooch are local stagecoach guards; any coach under their guard is sure to reach its destination and return home safely. Snape gets along with them well enough when they cross paths.
Snape works at the Hogs-Warts Ranch as a hand; Dumbledore gave him a letter of recommendation and paid for his fare from the East coast, and he's deeply indebted to the man. He's not trying to make friends in town, but he is trying to re-establish himself and distance himself from the reputation he left behind; he's, of course, a very private individual. The Hogs-Warts don't really pay him (they give him food/board for his labor), so he takes odd jobs around town and is trying to become self-sufficient/able to repay his debts as best he can. He gets called to the Fort on various tasks, even in the middle of the night.
Tom Riddle is a manipulative businessman/politician type that has a band of outlaws at his whim to go intimidate (burn down houses) of those who refuse to sell him their properties or vote against his policies. He's failed to gain the level of power he wants in the East, so he's turned his sights on an easier prize to the West.
Lucius Malfoy is a ranch owner from old money; he's never spent a day on horseback except for in leisure and is rarely actually living at his ranch. He prefers his eastern estate, with its white peacocks. His ranch breeds pedigree horses and prized farm animals. He's Tom Riddle's trust-fund.
The Potter-Black-Prince (PBP) Trading Company used to be the biggest importer on the East coast until the three heirs broke up the business into three smaller trading companies over a dispute. It's rumored the families are cursed due to a series of tragedies leading to the decline of their wealth/influence (including the Prince Trading Company going under and the family disappearing into obscurity); there's a family superstition that if the three families can reconcile, it will undo the curse, but Snape doesn't put much belief in it all.
ANON You are Brilliant ™️
Whoever did this is fucking brilliant and I love you 🤠♥♥️♥️🪶
I HAVE NOTHING TO ADD TO THIS, this is beautiful
