One of the Team just solved one of the Sam Heughan and "mystery blonde" riddles!
So, remember these exclusive source pics I posted in early June 2023? 👇 They were of Sam Heughan leaving his hotel with a mystery blonde the day after the Outlander Season 7 premiere in New York City.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Later and completely separately, another Team member had let me know Sam was following this wellness account based in New York City. 👇
Tumblr media
The very attractive blonde who is the founder is named Lauren Hawkins. 👇 I made a mental note in case anything came of it, and forgot all about her...until now.
Tumblr media
Well, remember, the sneakers the New York City mystery blonde woman was wearing? 👇
Tumblr media
Lauren Hawkins is wearing the same exact sneakers also in June 2023 in New York City. 👇 Matchy matchy! The team member made the connection and DMed me to let me know.
Tumblr media
And the long, wavy dirty blonde hair is also an exact match. 👆
The ankle tattoos also match. 👇

This made me think back to another mystery blonde seen having a meal with Sam at New York City restaurant, Jack's Wife Freda. The pic with the blonde with the Kith shopping bags. And long, wavy, dirty blonde hair with thin black sunglasses. This pic was posted by another blogger in May 2023. One month before the sighting by my New York City source. 👇 The bottom pic is Lauren Hawkins. Match matchy again!
Tumblr media
I don't know if they dated last year, were or are friends, but the blonde with Sam in my New York City source pics is definitely Lauren Hawkins. So, I'd say that's pretty much Mystery Solved. 🤗

Thank you for posting videos, pictures, and the Tribeca panel commentary on twitter. It is much appreciated. 🙏🏻
[ Anonymous #2 asked ]: Sarah, would you mind writing a S701 review since you were at the premiere last night? Don't mind spoilers and you can warn others if they don't want to read. Loved it when you did it before. Thanks!
Hello Anons! Thanks so much for both your asks! I hope you don't mind me combining both your asks.
You're so welcome, Anon #1! I so glad so many people enjoyed my posts about it! I'm very grateful that I've been able to go to these events for several years now. I know that so many of you don't get that opportunity, so I try to do what I can to bring it to you all even if only virtually. Things are always so much more fun when they're shared, anyway. After all, that's what fandom should be about! 💜
For anyone who missed it, you can check out my Twitter page for my full coverage of 92Y and the Tribeca Festival. But here's some GIF spam from my favorite of the videos I was able to capture this week!

Anon #2, yes of course I'll write up a summary of my thoughts. I know you said you don't mind them, but I will try my very best to not include any spoilers in it as I know it really does ruin it for some. But just in case:
~~~POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR OUTLANDER 7x01 BELOW~~~ ~~~SERIOUSLY, DON’T @ ME THAT I DIDN’T WARN YOU~~~
Outlander 7x01, "A Life Well Lost"
As Caitriona + Sam have mentioned previously in interviews, 7x01 picks up right where 6x08 left off. No time jump or anything, which I was really glad for. The opening scene was SHOCKING and used something that I thought was really clever and really rude all at the same time lol. I can tell you that the audience gasped because of it. I feel this bit was extremely effectively done. Caitriona's micro-expressions really made it for me.
One thing that surprised me — and perhaps it shouldn't simply because Outlander has always been full of this — was that there were so many small moments of humor in this episode, despite the obvious dire situation Claire and Jamie are in (but really, when aren't they lol). There's a new small side character that both Claire and Jamie get to interact with that provides much needed comedic breaks. Even Jamie's menacing looks add to this. Claire especially, I feel, gets to use her biting wit (or just straight up cursing) to add some humor to the tenseness. There's one particularly funny scene that takes place on a boat and involves an interrupting officer that I so loved! The entire audience burst out laughing when we saw it.
While Caitriona + Sam were obviously amazing, I'll say the surprising standout actor in this episode wasn't them. I won't say who, but it's someone we're well acquainted with. There are moments straight out of the book that this actor just fully nails. We're so lucky to have such strong actors filling these side character roles and s/he is just fantastic. Their sincerity and conviction sold me completely.
As book readers can probably guess from the title and from where we are in the timeline, we know basically what will happen in this episode — and they to stick pretty well to it. Even so, it is still so satisfying to get to see it played out on screen. Claire's despair, hope, and heartbreak. Jamie's torment, anger, and determination. The relief of it all. It's all played so, so well across Caitriona + Sam's faces and in their line delivery. Sam said during the Tribeca panel that Jamie is perhaps "more frail" in this episode, and I think that can be said for both of them. Despite them being well versed in separation, I think every subsequent one after their 20 year split wears on them more and more. And they both play that so expertly, making the time that we do see them together just that much sweeter. I don't think it's too spoilery to say that yes, they do share several scenes together this episode so dinna fash!
As for Brianna and R*ger, their scenes are pretty well separate from the Jamie x Claire scenes. I don't really have much to say about them, except that they move certain other storylines that will become more important later on in the season forward. And only just so. While it was important to do so, honestly it felt a bit filler-like. That said, I am actually pretty excited for certain arcs for Brianna and Jemmy later on (while also hoping they don't include that storyline for R*ger... sorry, not sorry) and this brought them maybe half a step closer to it.
Other than the moment on the boat I had mentioned earlier, there are two scenes toward the end which I really loved. One was such a sweet moment straight out of the book with some really great book lines that I had very much wanted to hear. it is Classic™ Jamie x Claire, so you know Caitriona + Sam knocked it out of the park. The second is not a book scene (I believe?? I don't remember it anyway), but was a great one for Sam / Jamie. It's how the episode ends and I told a new friend I had met in the Tribeca line that the final moment of the episode reminded me of Batman's cape swooshing over the camera turning everything black. Lol take from that what you will!
Some other random thoughts:
Jamie x Claire are SO. SOFT. They say separation makes the heart grow fonder? Really, it makes those two grandparents softer AND I LOVE IT.
I LOVED seeing Caitriona + Sam's names appear as Executive Producers! The entire audience was singing along to The Skye Boat song and then burst out cheering when that came up.
I really hope Major MacDonald's wig gets snatched by Adso at some point because F him lol
Overall, I'd say I enjoyed the episode. Some might say it's a bit slow, which I wouldn't disagree with. But knowing that 1) they had to get this part over with the tie up the Season 6 cliffhanger; and 2) this is really going to be a jam packed season of action and emotion, I think I'm okay with that. I've heard it from more than one source that 7x02 is even better than 7x01 so I'm really excited! I'm also really excited to meet our newer cast members, as none of them featured in the premiere episode. The Hunters especially will be so much fun to watch!
Hearing Caitriona + Sam speak about not only this season, but their journey with Outlander overall makes me so grateful that the quality is still there after seven seasons. They're clearly still so passionate about these characters and are determined to do them justice in every way to the very end. And I think that most definitely shows up in their scenes. I'm super curious to see if there's anything noticeably different or better now that they've been promoted to Executive Producers. And of course, to see Caitriona's first foray into directing!! Until then, I'm looking forward to you all seeing the first episode for yourselves 💜
So, I received additional info from a different source regarding the woman seen with Sam leaving his hotel. I'm starting a new post about it since the reblogs and comments on the other one got so long.
I'll start by summarizing: Yesterday, a source sent me these pics of Sam and a woman leaving Sam's hotel in New York. She said she didn't see the woman's face because by the time she realized it was Sam, they had already turned. Here are the pics I posted 👇
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some people thought it was his handler at the Premiere and she was also his handler at 92Y (I'm guessing she's a Starz handler). But side by side pics show the blonde leaving the hotel with Sam was NOT the handler. 👇
Tumblr media
Some people thought the hotel mystery woman could have been the blonde woman working the Tribeca Film Festival, who was seen filming Sam. But, nope. Some eagle eyed followers noticed the hotel mystery woman has tattoos on both ankles, the red carpet woman has no tattoos on her ankles. 👇
Tumblr media
The NEW info I got is this. Someone DMed me that some fans had taken a selfie with Sam in New York yesterday. I'm not allowed to post or share the full picture but what is of note is not the fans with Sam, but the reflection in one of the fan's sunglasses. I know, I know, but this reflection is pretty clear. No need to guess or squint hahaha. The reflection shows the blonde woman that was with Sam leaving the hotel. She is wearing sunglasses like Sam was. So, I still can't identify who she is. The pic was taken on Spring Street, and the specific place where it was taken is a 5 minute walk from Sam's New York hotel. This is all I was given to share. 👇 For now...
Tumblr media
You can see on the right, the fan raising her hand, holding her phone to take the selfie with Sam. And on the left, the mystery hotel woman. Wonder why the mystery hotel woman didn't take the pic. 🤔
Soooo, she's still a mystery. If I get more info that I can post, I'll update here.
PS. For those asking if Sam is with Karina Elle since they're both in New York at the same time. Nope. In fact, today, Karina was in Montauk, NY working. 👇
Tumblr media
And Sam is scheduled to return to filming The Couple Next Door tomorrow.
Oh, and Chloé Montana is back in Paris with her male best friend and a couple of female friends.
I'll keep you guys posted if I find out anything else. 😘
I forever feel like a tease. Wait, hear me out on this, not only have Outlander fans had to wait till about now to find out about the second half of season 7 release date, they learned it's going to be a long road till the actual premiere in November. All I can say is I am sorry. I mean I can't wait to see everyone's reaction to this fantastic second half- the writing to the directing to the fellow cast is just amazing. Our boy is back in Scotland after all too. But it's the fans I feel for and this long wait. Has their been any premiere or release or even collab drop you just could not wait for?
🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨
Spoilers if you haven't watched the Season Finale
Parade.com
Paulette Cohn Jan 17, 2025
'Outlander' Author Diana Gabaldon Weighs in on the Shocking Season 7 Finale (Exclusive)
The bestselling author reveals how she helped shape that unexpected ending. Plus, her favorite moments from the episode.
If you’re a book reader like me and not just a TV watcher of Outlander, the Season 7 finale was quite the shocker. It hinted that baby Faith, Claire (Caitríona Balfe) and Jamie Fraser’s (Sam Heughan) child, didn’t die in France and that Master Raymond (Dominique Pinon), who was prominent in Season 2, had something to do with the mystery.
“No part of the ending is from the books, save that Frances's mother's name was Faith,” bestselling author Diana Gabaldon, who created the Outlander novels the series is based on, tells Parade.
In the books, soon after Fanny (Florrie May Wilkinson) comes to live with the Frasers, she shows Claire her tiny cache of possessions, including a locket, with an indistinct miniature of a woman with dark brown hair, and the name "Faith" engraved on the cover. So, while the series changed the when and where Fanny showed Claire the locket, the event did take place in the books.
Also, according to Gabaldon, “They totally made up the [use of the song] ‘I Do Like to be Beside the Seaside’ in Season 2 and re-used it here.”
She indicates that it will come into play in the prequel Outlander: Blood of My Blood, as well, but that since that series won’t premiere until this summer, it’s too early to discuss it.
“I agree that the ending of 716 is flat-out weird, partly owing to their (evidently) having exhausted their budget,” Gabaldon continues. “They could have made a more convincing visitation by Master Raymond with blurry special effects, rather than having him just walk through the door and stand there. Better to have kept it soft-focus and leave it up to question as to whether he'd actually been there, or perhaps Claire imagined or dreamed the whole thing. But easy for me to talk; I don't have to figure out the logistics.”
Then she adds, parenthetically, (“I'm frequently pleased that I can do things easily in a book, that are incredibly difficult [not to say expensive] to do in a visual medium. A book is a remarkably useful [and economical] way to tell a story.”) That's not to say that Master Raymond showed up in this manner in either An Echo in the Bone or Written in My Own Heart’s Blood, upon which Season 7 was based.
That said, Gabaldon did have some input into the idea and maybe something similar will show up one day in one of the Outlander spinoff novels she writes, like the Lord John Grey series, especially if she does a book featuring Master Raymond, who is an interesting character. Or if she changes her mind and maybe does a second graphic novel. The first one, The Exile: An Outlander Graphic Novel, features Jamie Fraser.
Tumblr media
“They actually did get the (general) idea from me, though,” she admits. “When chatting with [showrunner] Matt [Roberts] about All Things plot wise, I mentioned that if I had written a second graphic novel (I didn't, for assorted reasons), I would have shown what actually happened after Faith's presumed death at the Hopital des Anges, and how/why Master Raymond resuscitated and nurtured the baby secretly, but wasn't able to come back with her before Claire and Jamie left France. So, they liked that idea and ran with it.”
Because Outlander is ending with an eighth season that will be only 10 episodes long, and Gabaldon has a lot more story, Season 7—as mentioned—was a combination of An Echo in the Bone and Written in My Own Heart’s Blood, which together are more than a million words of adventure and story.
“The show had 16 hours; just listening to the (very good) audiobook versions takes more than 90 hours, which tells you something about how much has to be left out,” Gabaldon points out. “It's amazing that they're able to make a comprehensible (and usually very good) show, using no more than 20 percent of the book version of the story. (On the other hand, a visual medium is also economical, insofar as they can capture thousands of words of description in a few seconds of film.)
“Naturally, I have my favorites among the episodes: Ep. 708 and the two battles of Saratoga, for instance, and the parallel stories of Jamie and William [Charles Vandervaart], and some of the later episodes in the second half of Season 7—I love how they handled the accidental triangle among/between Claire and her two husbands, with the collateral damage to Lord John. <g> In re which, while I love and admire all of the actors, who did a remarkable job with this season, my kudos to David Berry, for Lord John's adventures in the last few episodes of 7B."
There’s no word yet when Outlander Season 8 will begin airing, but it has finished filming, so possibly later this year. The Outlander: Blood of My Blood prequel has been announced for this summer.
For the ones that already watched and want to read a recap, for the ones that perhaps don't want to watch but are curious about the recap. Vist the link.
Note: I didn't read it myself, as the the episode hasn't been launched yet in the NL (and other countries) and I want to watch it before reading anything about it. I'm actually a bit annoyed since I think it would be more considerate to hold off a few more days.
