Osomatsu-san AU: Fantasy Outcasts (Short version)
Fantasy AU/Age AU/Found family. The reason the brothers all have matsu in their name is because Karamatsu gave it to them after they became part of the family. Everyone except Kara and (maybe) Jyushi have extended life spans due to being non-human. The village they live near is Akatsuka. (CW: Slaughter of family. Witch burning)
Kara (30): Human/Freelance Knight (Ex-Knight). Once a Knight but now an outcast due to refusing to give up raising Ichimatsu, a Catfolk. Has no memories of his past
Choro (30): Mage. Comes from a powerful mage line, but was banished from his family for being too weak. Moved into the orphanage with Kara and has lived with him since.
Ichi (20): Catfolk/Rogue/(Secret) Assassin. The only survivor of his village that was murdered due to being Catfolk. Isn’t an outcast to the Akatsuka village, but treats himself like he is one due to fear of being murdered.
Todo (18): Witch. Potion/Charm salesmen. On the run from his old town (he won’t say where) due to trying to use a love potion on someone. Came to Akatsuka to avoid being burned at the stake.
Jyushi (19): Human(?)/Freelance Fighter. Just showed up inside their home one day, but won’t talk about his past for some reason. The one to find Osomatsu while on a job.
Oso(Toddler): Dragon. Was found by Jyushi after his parents were (most likely) slayed by some Knights. Spoiled by his older “brothers.”

Because I accidentally misspelled Osomatsu as Osonatsu, I'm now imagining two things:
Osomatsu and Natsuki becoming friends and bonding over both feeling like friendless outcasts
Some kind of unholy fusion of Osomatsu and Natsuki

CAMP CAMP X OSOMATSU SAN HEADCANONS
The Matsu's took a family camping trip near Lake Lilac. Due too crazy hijinks they got lost in the woods and were found by Nikki, Nerris and Dolph. They brought them back to camp and at first the majority of the camp was either terrified or very cautious. The idea of that they were a cult came to mind also. But then getting know them, they were barely a threat to them even if they wanted too be. They decided too hang out for a while until their parents came to get them.
Osomatsu and Jyushimatsu like the camp the most. The campers remind them of when they were kids. It brings them a weird nostalgia.
Todomatsu probably like it the least. They're is no internet and its filled with bratty kids.
Ichimatsu, Choromatsu and Karamatsu are indifferent. Though Karamatsu tries too make an effort too connect with them.
David and Gwen appreciate the extra distractions for the kids. Though David thinks they are pretty bad influences.
Max and Neil are probably the most skeptical about these identical strangers after the whole Daniel incident.
Jyushimatsu and Nikki have a weird special connection. Since both of them act like dogs and can defy the laws of physics. They get along instantly and constantly bark at eachother. Though they are actually talking in dog language.
He also gets praised by David for being so positive
Osomatsu and Max form this alliance of being little shits together. They both have begrudging respect for eachother.
The campers find someone they hate more then David. Karamatsu. Glitter pants, tanktops with his face on them and his wording are way worse then happy go lucky David.
Though Karamatsu does have a soft spot for Harrison, Preston and Ered. Relating with Harrison because of being an outcast, Preston with a love for theatre and Ered with being cool. (Ered denies they have any correlation)
Choromatsu and Neil relate with hating Osomatsu (Oso picks on Neil because he reminds him of Choro) and also talk about mAtuRE StUfF. He also likes hanging out with Gwen.
Ichimatsu has a soft spot for Spacekid surprisingly. He listens too his intergalactic rambles. Its strangely calming to him.
Todomatsu doesn't really like anybody there. He would much rather be back home, going to mixers and having internet
Osomatsu found Gwen's weird fanfiction. After Gwen freaks out on him, he assures her that everyone has a weird fetish.
David doesnt really like any them, if he's being honest. Though Jyushimatsu is a slight exception.

some sokudo hurt/comfort with oso helping choro calm down from an anxiety attack?
Sokudo hurt/comfort highlighting Choromatsu’s anxiety is among one of my favorite tropes in this fandom so I was eager to write this one. Poor boy really needs some comforting. Under the cut:
There’s no reason for me to feel anxious…why do I feel so anxious…??
Choromatsu folded his hands in his lap, suddenly aware of how badly his fingers were shaking. He tried to push aside his overactive thoughts and focus on the TV, on whatever inane gameshow Osomatsu had picked for them to watch and was currently laughing his ass of at, but it was like he couldn’t reign his mind in. His thoughts were spinning wildly, spiraling out of control.
Maybe it’s not anxiety. Maybe the doctor was wrong. It could be something worse…way worse. You never know.
Choromatsu’s heart skipped a beat, and he was aware of a sudden tightening feeling in his chest. He tried to suck in a deep breath, but he couldn’t. It was like the air suddenly couldn’t get all the way to his lungs, cut off in his throat instead. The more he tried, the more he felt like he was choking.
It could be your heart. Maybe it’s racing so much right now because you’re going to have a heart attack…maybe something was wrong with your heart this whole time and no one wanted to tell you because they knew you couldn’t take it.
This was stupid. He was being ridiculous and he knew it. The doctor wouldn’t lie to him about his heart…would he? Maybe it was just his anxiety…but hadn’t he read somewhere that people with anxiety were more likely to have heart attacks later in life, something like that…?
He couldn’t remember. He was too distracted by the pain in his chest. That tight sensation was getting worse now, gripping his heart, squeezing his lungs. He tried to gulp down another deep breath, but it stuck in his throat. His forehead broke out in a cold sweat, his entire body feeling tingly and way too hot.
Oh god, I can’t breathe, why can’t I breathe?? Is it because of my chest, why does it hurt so bad so suddenly? Oh my god, is it my heart, am I going to die?
Panic seized him, and he gasped, suddenly struggling for breath.
“Choromatsu…?” Osomatsu turned to glance at him, eyebrows furrowed together. “Are you okay…?”
“I-I think I need to go to the bathroom,” Choromatsu said curtly, standing up quickly and rushing out of the room. He didn’t want Osomatsu to see him like this. His brothers had already seen him like this so many times before, and he hated it, hated feeling so vulnerable all the time and like he needed to be handled so carefully.
He hurried into the bathroom, shutting the door a little too hard behind him. He slid to the floor, clutching the front of his hoodie, his chest heaving as he gasped desperately for air.
I can’t breathe…I can’t breathe…has it ever been this bad before?! I’m going to die, I’m really going to die like this, aren’t I? It hurts, my chest hurts…
He felt dangerously close to passing out. The edges of his vision went fuzzy and dark, and he was getting lightheaded. This wasn’t good, this wasn’t good at all…
A knock on the door made him jump. “Choromatsu? Are you in there?”
Osomatsu. His voice was muffled on the other side of the door, but he sounded worried.
“Y-yes,” Choromatsu managed to croak out.
“Are you okay?”
Just tell him yes, don’t let him in…
Choromatsu drew in a rattling breath that barely met his lungs, his chest burning.
“N-no,” he answered in a wavering voice, tears pooling up in his eyes. “I’m n-not, p-please I need help…”
In no time Osomatsu had thrown open the door and kneeled down in front of Choromatsu, eyes flickering with alarm at his brother’s obvious distress. “Panic attack?” He didn’t even have to ask. He already knew.
Choromatsu could only nod in response, hyperventilating. “C-can’t breathe…m-my chest hurts…”
“Okay.” Osomatsu took control then, placing his hands on Choromatsu’s shoulders, his grip tight and reassuring. “You know what to do. We’ll do it together, okay? It’ll all be fine, you are going to be fine.”
Choromatsu wanted to believe him, but it was hard. Even though he’d been through this so many times before, it was always so hard to convince himself he’d be okay.
“We’re just gonna focus on breathing now. Okay? Just do what I do, just like before.”
Choromatsu managed a tiny nod.
“Breathe in–” Osomatsu inhaled through his nose, held it for a few seconds, and exhaled slowly though his mouth. “–and out.”
Choromatsu did as instructed, his breath shuddering as he let it out too quickly.
“Good. A little slower this time, alright? Let’s keep trying.” Osomatsu’s voice was calm and comforting as he spoke.
He demonstrated again, and Choromatsu followed his lead, his breaths short and shallow at first but gradually improving. Osomatsu murmured comforting words to him the entire time, mostly meaningless rambling, but encouraging nonetheless. It was amazing, really, just how trustworthy Osomatsu could be in a situation like this, and Choromatsu was so grateful for it.
Eventually, Choromatsu was managing to breathe normally on his own again. The tightness in his chest had loosened up some, and although his breaths were still a little shaky he could at least inhale deeply.
“Feel a little better?” Osomatsu asked gently, moving his hands to Choromatsu’s and giving them a little squeeze.
No, not really. But he just nodded a little, wiping at the tears still in his eyes with the sleeve of his hoodie.
“Want a cup of tea, maybe? I’ll make you some.”
“Okay…thank you.”
“Yeah, no problem.” Osomatsu helped ease Choromatsu back to his feet. Choromatsu’s legs were quaking at first, but Osomatsu kept a protective hold on him until he could regain his balance.
Choromatsu wordlessly followed his brother into the kitchen, and sat down at the table while Osomatsu put a kettle of water on the stove to boil and started getting out cups and the tea.
“….Osomatsu?”
“Yeah?” Osomatsu glanced at Choromatsu curiously.
“Do you….do you think I’m…” He tried searching for the right word but couldn’t find it.
“What?” Osomatsu sat down across from Choromatsu, looking him in the eye.
“I guess…not normal?” Choromatsu finally made himself say, swallowing hard against the lump in his throat.
“Why would I think that?” Osomatsu asked, raising an eyebrow.
“You know…” Choromatsu wrung his hands, lowering his gaze to the tabletop, his vision blurring with tears again. “Because…because I’m like this. I just…I feel anxious a lot, and sometimes have panic attacks for no reason…” He shut his eyes tight, blocking the tears there from falling. “That’s…that’s weird, isn’t it?”
“Choromatsu…no. Not at all.” Osomatsu’s voice was firm and sincere. “You have anxiety. Sometimes you overthink, and sometimes you have panic attacks. But that doesn’t make you not normal.”
“It feels like it, though…none of you have to deal with this. Sometimes I feel like an outcast in my own family…like everyone else is okay, and then there’s me. The freak who’s always breaking down.” Choromatsu sniffled, his chin quivering. “Why do I have to be this way…?”
Osomatsu stood up, and wound his arms around Choromatsu in a hug. “Choro, that doesn’t make you an outcast. We know it’s hard for you, and we want to help…I mean, when you actually let us help. But never once have we seen you as anything but our brother. You’re not weird, you’re not a freak. You’re just Choromatsu to us.”
“Even w-with my anxiety?” Choromatsu asked, sniffling more, leaning into Osomatsu’s embrace.
“Of course! That’s just part of you. It sucks, but you just have to deal with it. And it’s not like you’re the only person in the world with anxiety, either.”
The kettle on the stove emitted a high-pitched whistle then, signaling that the water was ready, and Osomatsu pulled away from Choromatsu to finish making the tea. He sat down again a few minutes later, placing a steaming cup in front of Choromatsu.
“Thank you,” Choromatsu said quietly, after a minute.
“No problem.” Osomatsu sipped his tea.
“No, I mean, like…for everything.”
“Yeah. Like I said, no problem. I’m always here for you.” Osomatsu gave him a small smile. “But maybe you should talk to the doctor again. There must be something else they can do to help…because I don’t wanna see you feel this bad again. It’s hard seeing you be so down on yourself. I want my brothers to be happy, y’know?”
“I know.” Choromatsu blew on his tea, then took a sip. The thought of going back to the doctor, of confessing he wasn’t doing okay and needed help, made his heart pound. But he didn’t want to keep feeling like this, either.
He wanted to be happy, too.

okay hi my name is jamie and me and @dedede-get-ipad made a high school au for TFA because some folks in the tf rp chat are making a general high school au, since me and whirlibird rly like TFA rn we decided to make a TFA centric one
Optimus Prime is a sophomore with a really nice charismatic attitude who’s captain of the school’s basketball team.
Ratchet's a senior who's currently job shadowing the nurse in the main office so he's usually found in there volunteering and helping out. but he has a super shitty attitude, school has taken so much out of him and he just wants to Graduate and never have to wake up early ever again.
Bulkhead is a junior and like that kid in the back of the class who's playing video games. Fell behind in all of his classes except for woodwork and excels in that. His teachers know he’s trying his best but he still has 5 F’s.
Prowl is a sophomore and is the resident anime nerd who watches naruto in class instead of doing his work. Constantly naruto runs in halls. Somehow seems to turn in all his work on time regardless.
Bumblebee is a freshman who thought he could make quarterback on the football team. He didn’t. He got kicked out of the football team due to accidentally launching a ball at Megatron and joined the basketball team out of spite.
Ultra Magnus is a senior who’s been basketball captain for all but one year, which Sentinel was for a time and then Optimus came around. Expects a lot from Optimus. Hangs out with Sentinel and tries to keep his ass in line since he ain’t a senior yet and can’t be making fun of the freshmen.... Yet.
Sentinel Prime was the previous basketball captain in freshman year, super pissed that he isn’t this year especially since he’s a junior and will be a senior soon. Gives Optimus a bunch of shit for because of it. Likes to make fun of underclassmen
Jazz is a junior and also an anime nerd, he’s president of anime club and will literally pay you 100 bucks for a racer miku figurine.
Blurr is the school senior track champion who's won the state championships 3 times in a row since he was a freshman. He talks really fast and is actually a brainiac. Everyone thinks he’s running off some kind of energy drink of coffee, no. He’s just like that.
Grimlock, Swoop, and Snarl are the school furries/scalies who constantly pretend to be dinosaurs and everybody avoids them at all costs.
Wreck-gar is a freshman and the resident trash kid who’s locker is full of papers and fallen pens and looks like a mess. He rarely takes a shower and always blurts out the answer out in class (albeit it wrong). He’s hyperactive and doesn’t really know what he’s doing with his life but he’s having a good time
Megatron however is a senior who’s captain of the football team and has been since he was a freshman, but Optimus showed up and has been one-upping him for two years and he’s getting pretty sick of it
Blitzwing and Lugnut are Megatron's lackeys. Bliztwing is a junior and is that one kid with a temper problem but despite his shitty temper he's like the class clown, always cracking jokes and saying stupid answers. Someone says the word ass because they were reading the passage from the book? Bliztwing sneers loudly and causes everyone else to laugh. However at times Bliztwing is known to stay quiet and avoid talking to people. Nobody knows why.
Shockwave is a sophomore and the school's resident outcast who seems to get along really well with Megatron. The two have known each other since childhood and Shockwave recently went through a whole new personality and look make over for high school, however only Megatron knows who the real Shockwave is.
Lugnut is a freshman who's been going to the same schools as Megatron since elementary and basically has seen his rise to glory as a hella good football player and is like 'DO YOU NOT KNOW WHO MEGATRON IS??? HE'S BEEN THE CHAMPIONSHIPS IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. HE'S AMAZING SHUT YOUR MOUTH.'
Starscream is a junior running back who’s pissed that for the third year in a row Megatron was voted as team captain over him and has been actively trying to sabotage Megatron for years and have him get into an ‘accident’ during practice so he can be voted as temporary captain as Megatron’s in the hospital. (This however fails and he ends up in the hospital instead.)
Black Arachnia is a sophomore who used to be Optimus's girlfriend back in 6th grade but because of an accident she had to move away. she recently transfers back to school with them but now she's a goth. that accident being she got bullied hella hard and Optimus was too much of a wuss to go and help her despite Sentinel thinking he could square up but Optimus was like 'it's no use we'll all get beat up', and she's super pissed about it still.
Waspinator is a freshman who used to be one of the ‘cool kids’ on the football team. However due to an accident involving Megatron and a rake, he was kicked off the team and suspended from school. Having been grounded by his parents he basically went silent for a month. When he came back to school however he was a changed man. He was a lot more antsier and wanted to take out his problems on Bumblebee, who is the reason he got suspended and grounded in the first place.
Thundercracker, Skywarp, Ramjet, Sunstorm and Slipstream are Starscream’s siblings. They’re sextuplets who Starscream absolutely despise and they despise him in return. Welcome to Osomatsu-san seeker edition. Thundercracker is the second oldest and the snarkiest of them all, often gloating about how much better he is than Starscream. Skywarp is the third oldest and middle child, very timid and often the one to keep his siblings from fighting. Ramjet is a compulsive liar and is constantly lying whether it be stretching the truth of a story or outright denying doing anything shady. Sunstorm often times kisses up to Starscream to get favors, actually he does this to everyone to get favors. Especially Swindle. That favor being free weed. Sunstorm is a stoner. Slipstream is the youngest of the sextuplets and is overall the most logical one out of all of them. She’s the one who makes sure all of her brothers stay in line and don’t go off doing something stupid.
Swindle is a junior who sells stuff from his lockers. Pens, test answers, snacks, energy drinks, you name it. All for a fair and reasonable price of course. You can catch him hanging around his locker during lunch or passing period with somebody passing him money and he fishing something out of his Mary Poppins-locker. However if you have the money to buy it, Swindle can sell you some booze in water bottles or a bag of weed. However when the drug dogs come sniffing he’s always first to get busted and is constantly suspended because of it.
Soundwave is a freshman who's entire character is basically built by Megatron. He was a nobody who started hanging around Megatron and through his influences he became a little punk who likes to listen to his music a little bit too loud.
Lockdown is the school bully, but not in a conventional way. People pay him to beat up other kids. He doesn’t care, he usually gets sent to the principle’s office because of it but he always finds a way to worm himself out. He uses the money to buy weed from Swindle.
i’ll add more characters as i see them, i’m still watching TFA so i haven’t gotten to everyone yet.

a bunch of people told me that i should leave the fandom if i'm not okay with blmatsu n i kinda feel like an outcast now like that other anon,,that i HAVE to like blmatsu in order to be part of the fandom,,tbh blmatsu comes off as alter ego selfcest to me
well 1. it’s not. they’re literally brothers blmatsu is LITERALLY incest
and 2. you’re hanging out with the wrong kind of people then. you don’t have to be in the fandom to enjoy osomatsu you know, if you really have to make a decision of ‘oh if i don’t ship it then i can’t participate in stuff’ then literally??? leave like no. you literally do not have to ship blmatsu to be in the fandom blmatsu is gross and hurts people and the fact you have to make that kind of decision is kind of fucked dude.

It’s kind of funny seeing fake “My teacher likes Superwholock!!!!” posts because I seriously did have a teacher in my current program who liked Doctor Who and Sherlock
It came up naturally because it seriously was relevant to the classes she taught; my major is related to the broadcasting industry, so we do learn about and discuss recent trends and what makes them successful. We’re going to need to know these things when it comes to crafting and pitching our own properties in this market. Sherlock in particular was relevant because we watched a lot of different things with the character as an example of how different cultures will handle the same character, from old black-and-white movies to parodies to the BBC series.
So, yes, I did spend a few weeks being taught about Sherlock, including watching the first episode of the BBC series in class.
And you know I wouldn’t lie about this for notes because rather than be excited about OMG FANDOM TEACHER, I just found the show distressingly mediocre
Instead I wrote my midterm on Osomatsu-san and outcast culture and my final on the evolution of queer representation in children’s media, with references to things like Sailor Moon and SU
so that was fun

Osomatsu-san AU: Fantasy Outcasts (Long version)
An AU I made, like, a year or two ago. I decided to redo it and post it on here. (CW: Slaughter of family. Witch burning)
Fantasy AU/Age AU/Found family. The reason the brothers all have matsu in their name is because Karamatsu gave it to them after they became part of the family. Everyone except Kara and (maybe) Jyushi have extended life spans due to being non-human. The village they live near is Akatsuka.
Karamatsu (30): Human/Freelance Knight (Ex-knight). He doesn’t remember why, but at some point in his life he ended up in an orphanage. He was never adopted, so he helped to look after the younger kids, especially since he was the oldest. When he was a teenager he found a mage in the woods. The mage was Choromatsu, who was practicing his magic skills. When he found out that Choro had been kicked out of his family and was homeless, Kara invited him back to the orphanage and the two have been living together ever since, even when they both aged out of the orphanage.
At eighteen he became a guard for the village and quickly rose up in the ranks to become the youngest knight of the Queen’s court. At twenty he heard reports of a thief. Apparently there were reports of a kid stealing from the markets, yet despite his age he kept avoiding the guards. While the Knights weren’t given orders to track the thief down, Kara went to try and find him. He felt bad for the kid and thought if he found him first he could help him and keep him from getting arrested.
He eventually tracked down the kid and offered him some food, but the kid took off running. After that Kara somehow kept tracking the kid down and offering him food or to help find him a home, only to get rejected. He didn’t tell the guards or other knights about this though. One day he finds out the kid is actually a Catfolk (Half-human/half-cat) and named Ichimatsu. He then offers Ichimatsu to come live with him and Choromatsu. Ichimatsu finally agrees.
Three years later the Queen visits his home. She tells him how she knows that he’s raising a Catfolk. She has no problem with Catfolk, but she knows how hated that race is and if people were to find out Kara was hiding one, there might be a riot. She gives him two options: Either make Ichi leave the village and remain a knight, or keep him and become an outcast. Kara obviously refused and he was stripped of his title and told to move out of the village. They could still visit, but they all knew that the villagers might not be so welcoming towards Kara.
The Queen would keep Ichi’s identity a secret, but warned that if someone found out and a riot happened, she will play ignorant and won’t save him and his family. She allows him to keep his status long enough that he can have a house built somewhere outside of the village that they can move to, and promises the land is his and he won’t have to pay taxes on it. After the home is built and they move into it, the Queen strips him of his title. She doesn’t explain why, but being stripped of a high title like that is seen as a great disgrace, and most of the time it’s due to a scandal, so the other knights and villagers instantly dislike Kara and anyone associated with him (except Ichi who was 13 at the time).
Since he’s no longer a Knight, and the village won’t hire him, he has no income. He calls himself a “Freelance Knight” and wears his old guard uniform (except he’s modded it now to look flashier and different from the town guards). This means he tries to help the villagers in need with any problems they might have. No one wants to hire him and if he does save someone in trouble, they refuse to pay him.
Kara doesn’t mind though. “Doing a good deed is reward in of itself, heh!” He would say, though deep down he’s disappointed and a bit frustrated that he can’t help provide for his family, but luckily some of the others make money and they live comfortably.
Since Kara has no memory of his past, he is greatly attached to his new family and wants to do whatever he can to make them happy. He’s used to taking care of kids from his time at the orphanage.
Choromatsu (30): Choro was born to a very powerful mage family. All mages start at level 0, but there are different types that they can attune to easily (like healing, fire, etc). In Choro’s family they are expected to have found that attunement and have impressive magic by 13. Choro…never found it and his magic was very weak. His family saw him as a disgrace and threw him out, stripping him of his family name and status.
He was found by Kara when he was in the woods trying to practice his magic, hoping if he got strong enough his family would take him back. Kara convinced him to live in the orphanage with him and they’ve been honorary brothers since then.
Choro has tried to help the villagers in the past with his magic, but due to his low skill he’s caused more harm than good. Like, he once tried to use a growth spell to help a farmer’s field, but he accidentally ended up summoning lightning and destroying the crops. He’s earned a bad rep among the villagers, but when Kara was a knight they tolerated him and never said anything bad to him. After Kara becomes an outcast though, the villagers openly show their disgust towards him and refuse him any work.
Unlike Kara who still tries to help the villagers, Choro had given up years ago and instead focuses on trying to increase his magic skills, though it’s not going too well, especially since he doesn’t study much.
When they were at the orphanage, Choro didn’t take care of the kids like Kara did, but that doesn’t stop him from nagging his brothers.
Ichimatsu (20): Catfolk/Rogue. Catfolk are the most hated race, so it’s not uncommon for people to kill them. When Ichi was 8 his whole village and family was slaughtered, but he was able to escape. Since then he had learned how to steal in order to survive. He lived on his own for two years before he ended up in Akatsuka. He kept avoiding the guards and successfully stealing from the shops, but for some reason he kept running into this Knight (Kara). One thing leads to another and Kara ends up finding out his secret. He thought he would be killed by him, but was surprised when Kara told him he’d keep his secret, and offered to take him in. Ichi agrees.
No one told him, but he knows it’s his fault Kara lost his knight status. He overheard Kara and Choro talking about it when they thought he wasn’t around. He doesn’t tell them that he knows, but his attitude towards Kara changes, becoming more like in the show. Kara believes Ichi hates him due to making him an outcast, but really Ichi is just mad at himself for costing Kara his job/status and thinks Kara would be better off without him, but is too afraid to leave.
Unlike (some) of his brothers he’s not an outcast to the village. Since he was adopted by Kara at a young age, they’re not strict in regard to him living with them. He’s too scared to interact with the villagers due to his fear of them finding out about his race, especially since the Queen said it could cause a riot and get him and his family killed. He sticks to the shadows when he has to go to town and only interacts with others when he has to.
Ichi gets income from doing quests and for assassinations. Unknown to his family (though Todo and Choro have their suspicions) he is a contract killer. Sometimes he has to leave the family to complete these contracts. He also steals food for them.
Due to survivor guilt and trauma, Ichi lost his ability to talk. At some point he’s able to again, but has selective mutism.
Todomatsu (18): Witch. Potion/charm salesman. He comes from a town that’s located very far away (he won’t say where). His “brothers” don’t know that he’s actually on the run from that town. When he was 16 he fell in love with someone (Atsushi), but wasn’t sure if his feelings would be returned. He tried to use a love potion on him, but he was caught.
His town then labeled him an evil witch and tried to burn him at the stake, but luckily he was able to teleport himself away to “a place far from here,” and ended up in the Akatsuka. He had no money, no possessions, and being only 16 he couldn't buy/rent a home, but that didn’t stop him trying to find a place to stay.
Karamatsu found him on his patrol when Todomatsu was arguing with someone, trying to rent a room at an inn. Totty promised to buy the owner when he had the money, but they refused. Karamatsu offered to let him stay at his place until he got on his feet. Totty (not wanting to end up at the orphanage like the innkeeper was suggesting) agreed, and has been living with them since.
Unlike his brothers, Totty isn’t an outcast in the village, due to his charming personality and not telling the villagers about where he’s living. If he sees one of his “brothers” in public, he’ll pretend not to know them. Due to this he’s the one in charge of buying food or supplies they need (shopkeepers tend to hike up the prices if one of the others try).
He has a stall that he sets up in town to sell his potions and the charms he makes. Most of them are for things like good luck, cleaning potions (like getting stains out), and a lot of generic, low-level things that any witch could make, but since the town is more human populated, he’s able to sell a lot of them.
He comes from a powerful witch line, so he’s actually one of the few witches that doesn’t need to use his wand to cast spells. Sometimes he uses it and sometimes he wiggles his nose cutely to cast spells (though Ichi is suspicious that he’s just doing that to look cute and he probably wouldn’t have to do that).
Jyushimatsu (19): Human(?)/Freelance Fighter. Unlike the others that found the family through unfortunate circumstances, Jyushi just showed up inside their home one day. When they try to ask him about his past, where he came from, the only info they get is, “my name is Jyushi!” They eventually quit asking.
Kara was more than happy to let him join the family, though Choro is still wary of him. Jyushi and Ichi connected instantly (despite the difference of personality). Totty doesn’t mind Jyushi, though he is miffed that since Jyushi is older than him, Jyushi is his big brother, even though Totty has been in the family longer!
Like Ichi he makes money doing quests, and a lot of those quests take him out of town for a while. He’s earned a rep as “Immortal beast” because no matter how many times he gets beat, he always gets back up. Also, sometimes when he has blood on him, he doesn’t notice and scares people.
He was the newest addition to the family (having only been added for a few months), but then during one of his quests he returned with a baby dragon.
Osomatsu (Toddler): Dragon. The newest addition to the family! Jyushi found him crying in a cave. He was hidden behind some rocks and his parents were missing. Jyushi could tell that he had been there for at least a few days, meaning he was either abandoned or his parents were… Not wanting to leave him alone, but also not sure what to do with him, Jyushi takes him back home so he can be their new little brother!
At the current time of the story he’s been with them for a few months and he’s spoiled. He can eat regular human food, but his favorite things to eat are gems, but those are hard to come by. Due to his young age he has trouble controlling his fire breathing, so he tends to accidentally set things on fire. When he gets upset he sometimes unleashes a fireball by accident. He also can’t transform into his dragon form and will either have to learn it on his own or have someone teach him (luckily there might be another dragon in town).
The town’s opinion on him is kinda split: On one hand he’s a dragon and he could turn into a rampaging monster, but on the other hand he’s still a baby. They don’t have much faith in the Matsuno’s to raise him right, but since he’s adopted he’s technically a “tame” dragon and it would be illegal to do anything to him. Plus, he’s so cute!
The brothers weren’t sure what happened to Oso’s parents until one day the Queen’s knights showed up in town. Oso (who was with Kara at the time) saw them and started to cry and panic. The brothers then theorized that Oso’s parents had been killed by a group of knights, a common fate among wild dragons. They doubted it was the Queen’s knights, since dragons don’t naturally live near the village and Oso’s cave was too far away. This knowledge helps Ichi bond with Oso, since he knows what it’s like to have your family slaughtered.

Ichimatsu, a cave-dwelling, cat shark merman, decides to give up on life after many losses of his unborn, being fearfully outcast by the other fish people, and intense jealousy over Choromatsu's new affair with a surface-dweller. The fishing net, however, didn't grant him sweet demise, but rather three amazed fishermen and too many damn questions.

Anime NYC, Day One
It’s Anime NYC weekend! I’m here to cover everything for you – at least, everything I can get to. We’re starting early, though, as I’m typing this before the con begins. That’s because Seven Seas, which is not allowed to leave California due to some agreement with a lich, I believe, has announced a giant pile of titles every day this week, including some absolute stunners.
We start with Dragon, Ie wo Kau (Dragon Goes House Hunting), which sounds absolutely hilarious based on title alone. It’s a Mag Garden title that runs in Comic Blade, and a fairly recent series. As for the premise, well, I’d hate to spoil…
Do you like sports manga? Have you been thinking “I like sports manga, but there’s not enough fanservice? Where are my girls in swimsuits”? In that case, we have Harukana Receive, a beach volleyball manga that takes place in Okinawa. It runs in Houbunsha’s Manga Time Kirara Forward, and has 4 volumes to date.
I greatly enjoyed My Lesbian Experience with Loneliness when it came out earlier this year, and so am delighted to hear Seven Seas has licensed the sequel, My Solo Exchange Diary, which only comes out in Japan next month. Judging by the title, it promises to be as emotionally compelling as the previous book (exchange diaries by definition requiring another person).
I have often begged for licenses from Shogakukan’s Big Comic Superior, one of the more overlooked seinen magazines. And, well, OK, I asked for it. Now we have Wonderland, which manages to turn Alice in Wonderland into a horror thriller sort of deal, as humanity shrinks all of a sudden and has to fight to survive. The author may be best known over here for Fighting Beauty Wulong.
How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom has been one of J-Novel Club’s breakaway hits, so it’s no surprise that Seven Seas will be releasing it in print. Get ready to hear about Machivelli’s The Prince a lot and ask yourself “Isn’t that Saber?”.
This should not be a surprise anymore given the number of classic titles Seven Seas has announced, but it still surprised me. Space Battleship Yamoto will be coming out as one omnibus manga! From 1974, it ran in Akita Shoten’s now defunct Bouken Ou magazine, though I believe Media Factory may have the rights now. The anime version may be better known to Western fans as old as I am as Star Blazers.
Udon still has the rights to Rose of Versailles, though it’s been significantly delayed. But Seven Seas teased us with two sort-of-related titles. The first is Versailles of the Dead, combining 18th century France with zombies. It runs in Shogakukan’s Hibana, and is from the creator of After School Charisma.
And we may not have Rose of Versailles yet, but we are getting a Ryoko Ikeda title, as we have Claudine! This single volume shoujo manga is considered a pioneer in the field of LGBT manga, meaning of course that it’s going to end unhappily for all concerned, like most pioneers of LGBT manga. Claudine ran in Shueisha’s Margaret, and will be complete in one volume.
Who wanted a combination of beloved fairy tales and survival game manga? Certainly not me, but there’s definitely a market for it, and they should be delighted with Fairy Tale Battle Royale, a Kadokawa title that runs in Gene Pixiv.
If you liked The Heiress and the Chauffeur, Seven Seas has a new shoujo series by the same author (and that also ran in LaLa from Hakusensha). The Bride and the Exorcist Knight is about a young woman who attracts demons, and the boy who rescues her… and then says they should get married. The boy’s age worries me (he’s apparently 12), but we’ll see how this is handled.
The biggest surprise so far (I may have to edit this when Friday’s titles come out) is the license of the Shin Tenchi Muyo novels. These novels expand on the past of the original OAV series, with one devoted to Aeka’s family, one to Tenchi’s grandfather, and one to Washuu. (Romanization may vary depending on when you got obsessed with Tenchi Muyo). These came out in the 1990s, and were on no one’s radar, so I was stunned. But I will absolutely pick them up.
Friday brings us the final Seven Seas titles. First we have Elf-san wa Yaserarenai (Plus-Sized Elf), a comedy manga from Comic Gum. Dieting elves seem to be the comedy du jour.
Ojojojo proves that the Dragon Maid author can still get things licensed, but at least it doesn’t seem to feature monster girls. Outcast girl meets outcast boy in this 4-volume series from Takeshobo’s Manga Life.
Lastly, there is Hanayome wa Motodanshi (The Bride was a Boy), an Asuka Shinsha title about the titular bride, who was assigned male at birth but has decided to transition, and her husband who finds out about this but falls for her anyway. It’s apparently autobiographical, and should appeal to fans of My Lesbian Experience with Loneliness-style manga.
Now onto Anime NYC proper. After a bit of line wackiness (better signage was desperately needed), I got into the Exhibit Hall, grabbed a copy of Nekomonogatari Back (likely my sole purchase this weekend), and headed to the panel on Anime Fandom 15 years ago, run by Doug Wilder of Animecons.com.
It really is startling to see how far we’ve come in that time. 15 years ago, VHS was dying and DVDs were the new thing, but they were frequently high-priced and sometimes came with a box to hold the remaining volumes… which may not always have come out if sales were really poor. Streaming was being talked about, but that’s all. It was a physical media world.
There were magazines! Animerica, Protoculture Addicts, Newtype USA. Wizard magazine devoted part of its content to anime, which makes me sad as it means I have to remember Wizard magazine. You still had Toonami and Adult Swim, but ADV Films (remember them?) was starting up The Anime Network. We had the Lupin dub! Which changed so much dialogue it could have been a different series.
There were the usual gateways. Sailor Moon, etc. Gundam Wing was HUGE at the time. I noted from the audience that it was the Gundam series that attracted a lot of female viewers. Doug also discussed other robot series like G Gundam and Battler Aura Dunbine, which tried to sell itself as being similar to Gundam Wing, which… it wasn’t.
After this nostalgic trip, I toured the show floor a bit. Spoke to Mangagamer about the delays on the Higurashi re-release (their programmer is very busy with other titles, so Tsumihoroboshi may take a few more months.) Got a hot dog, because the days when I try to power through an entire day on water are long gone. Then camped for Viz, which meant seeing Funimation Favorites, which was fun. They’re excited about the Nichijou re-release.
Viz had a lot of people at its panel, though the only panelist was Charlene Ingram, their marketing director. Most of the announcements were things that had been mentioned at prior events, such as Infini-T Force and the Homestuck print omnibuses. A lot of anime clips, which the audience appreciated. The Terra Formars one was quite violent.
A big announcement was that Viz has partnered with Pluto TV, an app that allows you to watch various titles whenever you want, including Viz titles. They were also very excited about Osomatsu-san, the very popular comedy manga that sort of came out of nowhere this past year.
On the manga front, we talked about to My Hero Academia speedup starting in 2018, as well as the Vigilantes spinoff being licensed. The one new series that they announced was That Blue Sky Feeling (Sorairo Flutter), an LGBT series that runs in Square Enix’s Gangan Joker. It’s about a boy drawn to the school outcast, who may be gay but that’s not stopping our hero getting close to him. It looks quite interesting.
After the Viz panel I went to dinner with two friends at a pub on 46th street nowhere near the con, which I always recommend when you do NYC cons – the convention center is near absolutely nothing. Fish and chips were eaten, rum and coke was drank, and a good time was had by all.
Then back to the con for the One Piece 20th anniversary panel, which had a considerable line, but everyone managed to get in. (By the way, the con had about 20,000 people, which is not bad given it’s a first-year con. The panel was run by the One Piece Podcast, and the hosts were Zach and Kelly. They oddly tried to keep it a spoiler-free con, which was increasingly difficult as the panel went on.
A lot of the events going on in Japan for the anniversary were discussed. One Piece is big business there, with shops, restaurants (one restaurant is run by a guy dressed as Sanji, who flirts with the women but is hirrible to any male customers. That sounds… a bit too accurate for my taste) and the like.
There’s an exhibit at Tokyo Tower. There’s a kabuki show, though the lead actor recently got injured. One Piece is used in tons of ads – Coke, Nippon Ham, and a ludicrous ad in appalling Engrish for a pen, ending with “THIS IS A PEN!” declaimed. (That phrase is the standard opener for Japanese kids learning English.)
The live-action One Piece is in production for North America, and few fans seem excited, even with Oda supervising it. Too many people remember Dragon Ball… and Ghost in the Shell… and Death Note. Still, hope springs eternal. Oh yes, and they also showed the 4Kids opening – a surprising number of people grooved along. I guess it didn’t kill the fandom after all!
They had a history of the One Piece anime and manga over the years after this, which got increasingly vague as we tried not to spoil. Unfortunately, I had to cut out before the panel ended, so that I could come back here and write all of this up for you.
Tomorrow brings us Kodansha, Yen, and other assorted fun things. Who’s gonna be there with me?

My Review of Prison School
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But I still find myself hating on Shingo. He literally turns on his best friend, has everyone else turn on him so that Kiyoshi is solo in everything, and won’t even give Kiyoshi the benefit of the doubt. Yes, Kiyoshi did some sneaky things in order to be with a girl he really liked and even almost screwed up their peeping mission, but Shingo went too far. I’m glad Shingo came to his senses and realized Kiyoshi is pretty damn loyal (especially all he’s done for Gakuto). It’s just after Kiyoshi was found out, Shingo turned into such a jerk that I hated seeing him for the several episodes he had his broodish behavior. SHIPPING: So there were several ships worth mentioning. *Kiyoshi x Chiyo: It was weird how they came to meet because Chiyo noticed an item on Kiyoshi’s desk that had to do with sumo. Meanwhile Kiyoshi only had it because his grandma likes sumo and he doesn’t. But it doesn’t stop him from flirting with Chiyo. And you know that saying about how men will do anything for a pretty girl? That’s pretty accurate here as Kiyoshi was desperate enough to escape from prison by disguising himself as a girl, and hang out with Chiyo at an event that bores the fuck out of him. But hey, he’s with a girl that actually acknowledges his existence, so why the fuck not?! It’s clear that Kiyoshi does care for Chiyo. As for Chiyo, she sees the good in him (despite some of the questionable things he’s been involved with). She goes as far as to stand up for him when her older sister Mari tries to expel Kiyoshi and his friends. In fact, she downright disobeys her older sister for the sake of a boy. Yep, this ship has just left port! *Shingo x Anzu: I know Anzu was only around for the sake of leading-on Shingo per Mari’s order. But the fact that she did the right thing by being truthful to Shingo before he could be expelled from school was good on her part. I know her infatuation was fake from the get-go, but that kind gesture at the end of their “date” makes me think she might come around later. And she does in the finale. But after the OVA, I’m pretty sure they’re on good footing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
*Kiyoshi x Hana ... ...I don't know what you want me to say here. Crazy Bitch Hana has been on a crusade to crush Kiyoshi personally after he accidentally was in the same area as her as she took a piss in the forest. And ever since that day, she has done everything in her power to destroy him for what he (accidentally) came upon. And all times have kinda backfired on her with her being R. Kelly'd all over, feeling an unwanted mushroom touching her, and a kiss that'll leave her stupid her for three weeks. In a strange way, yeah, I can see her being obsessed over Kiyoshi (especially after that last kiss they had). But I'm not a full supporter of them. *Mari x Meiko: I’m not even going to discuss how many fanarts involving these two I had to go through in my research. But seeing as there’s some history involving Meiko being indebted to Mari from their middle school days, it doesn’t surprise me that this ship is heavily sided on Meiko. Meiko does everything for the sake of her madam president. And if she feels as though she has failed her madam president, she will punish her own self. I can’t really tell if this requited love or not. I'm leaning on Mari just using Meiko and doesn't return the feelings. Maybe if we get another season, I’ll change my thoughts on this. *Kiyoshi x Gakuto ... Only in Shingo's imagination. NO! Fuck no! By the end of the special OVA, it seems as though all 5 boys had some girl that seemed semi-interested or fully interested in them. Kiyoshi x Chiyo is a definite big one. Shingo and Anzu might be a little rocky, but a few hints were dropped. As for the others, Andre has a few admirers, Jo got a special surprise in a random girl, and Gakuto found luck in the world’s unluckiest girl. OMG MOMENTS: So I’ll admit that what peaked my curiosity with this particular series was some of the O.M.G. moments. I saw and heared about these certain moments and I wanted to hear more. Now, the two moments that first caught me years prior was Hana peeing in the woods and Gakuto deficating in class (yes, you read right, a guy shit his pants in class). Certainly that should be the end of this disg…Not by a long shot! There were plenty of jaw-dropping, O.M.G. moments to go on! Accidental panty shots, squat-thrusts that go on longer than it really should, graphic details of a high-heel shoe in a boy’s ass-crack, a girl getting aroused by a stray hair on a boy’s nipple, nudity of just about every variety, and a girl being R. Kelly’d all over (a.k.a. golden shower). And those are just the ones I could remember from the top of my head! But seriously, I think Hana getting R. Kelly'd was the one that did me in. ANIMATION: I will say this anime can go very creative when it comes to the animation. Many scenes go completely different from the norm. The facial expressions for one are VERY detailed (especially in the suspenseful scenes). But one scene I want to mention was when Kiyoshi and Gakuto were planning their escape and the animation decides to use legos to detail the escape. That was very fun to watch. Though I’m sure when it first came out The Lego Movie was probably still a big thing and this series wanted to use lego-mation for a few scenes throughout the series. Whatever the case, I loved it. But for me, I feel like they go WAY over the top when it comes to animating Meiko. And to tell you the truth, it’s probably the creator’s fault with this too, but getting several moments where the viewer is face-to-face with her taint as she does squat thrusts. Her ass literally swallows up panties. But it doesn’t help when this teenager… (REMEMBER SHE’S A TEENAGER) ...has overly-exaggerated drawn body parts. Like dominatrixs show more than she does, it’s so insane! THE DUB CONTROVERSY: So dubs can be notorious for putting unnecessary lines into the series. It could be one line in an episode or movie, several lines throughout the series, or in special cases like Shin Chan and Ghost Stories, the entire series. And trust me, Rica Matsumoto never once insulted Vikings or Minnesota in Pokemon the First Movie. You may blame the good folks at 4Kids for that line! In a couple of their dubs in the past five years, FUNimation inserted a few dub lines in animes including Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid, My Girlfriend is a Gal, and Prison School that did not go over well with anyone. And the one that seemed to set people off the most was when Shingo was asked if he was a “GamerGate creepshow”. It caused so much controversy that fans got into a fight with the writer on Twitter, angry letters were sent to FUNimation, and the line was eventually changed for DVD release. I’ll be honest, I was never aware of this particular term or the controversy that surrounded it until I heard about the mess the Prison School dub wound up in because of it. Probably because after 2010, I stayed clear from those certain topics/sites/etc. But I’ll admit that this was very out of place and things like that really shouldn’t be in that unless the dub is supposed to be out of left-field like in Shin Chan and Ghost Stories. But it isn’t! This is Prison School! This anime has enough going on without out of place lines being spouted! ENDING: It is clear that the girls of the Underground Disciplinary Committee hate these men. Especially Mari! Actually, Mari has a strong disdain for the male gender due to her father's dirty little habit of lusting over Brazilian ladies with big asses. But all of them hate the boys. Hate them so much that they would go so far as to mess with their brains and set them up for failure as long as they remain prisoners. Kiyoshi’s escape arc caused the boys to get another month to their sentence and giving them one strike. So the girls figured two more offenses were going to happen one way or another. Once they get three strikes, they are eligible for expulsion. And that’s where Operation D.T.O. comes in (Destroy Testicles Operation). The girls were devious enough to lure Shingo with a plant and have Meiko mentally destroy Andre with “punishment”. Shingo was allowed a couple of hours out of the prison, but had to be back at a certain time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mari sets up a plant to distract Shingo. That plant managed to seduce him during his time out of prison and while his back was turned, changed the time on his clock so he’d be late returning back to the prison. Meanwhile, Andre is the biggest masochist in this anime, quite possibly in the whole anime world. He lives for being struck by women when he’s been bad. So when Meiko held back her punishment tactics, he went crazy. So much so that when Meiko called him over, he crashed through barbed wire and the girls considered it as a prison break. That’s strike two! And even though Shingo’s plant broke down and confessed what was going on and Shingo managed to get back to campus on time. He didn’t technically make it inside the premises. So now the boys are at strike three and up for expulsion. Meiko, Hana, and Mari are some manipulative bitches! With any luck, the principal will go easy on them. On the plus side, he’s an ass-man and can understand the boy’s lust for ladies. But then it gets ugly when you realize this guy is also Mari and Chiyo’s father. While Kiyoshi was able to get favor points with the principal by giving (false) praise to the booty that would make even Space Dandy proud, the principal was only able to give the boys 24 hours left at the school before they are fully expelled. If the boys have one more plan, they better pull it off and FAST. Actually, with the help of Chiyo, Anzu, and the other boys, they were able to pull off one hell of a method to combat D.T.O. The boys distracted Meiko with an arm-wrestling match. Anzu distracted the girls by sneaking around the prison. Gakuto was able to hack into Mari’s computer to dig up dirt for the principal. Kiyoshi got the final laugh with crazy-bitch Hana by sticking his tongue so far down her throat she won’t think straight for a week. And the sprinkles on top, we got Chiyo to pose as Jo, Jo pose as Gakuto, and then have Gakuto get the final nail in the coffin to take down the Underground Disciplinary Council. With this amounting evidence, the principal felt that the boys more than enough did their time in prison school and have all earned their freedom. And yes, they can stay admitted to the school. As for Meiko, Hana, and Mari, those three have won a one-way trip to the clink. Now this didn’t turn around like having the boys become the warden and the girls become the prisoners. Actually, the REAL president of the student council stepped in as warden for this special occasion. We meet Kate Takenomiya literally in the final five minutes of the last episode (despite so much more discovered in the manga). And she wastes no time chastising, embarrassing, and breaking the girls of the underground disciplinary council in a private and even public setting. But enough about Meiko, Hana, and Mari’s backstory, we now rejoin the boys as they are enjoying their freedom. MAD WAX: This is the sequel OVA to Prison School where we see what life is like for the boys after leaving prison and watch as Meiko, Hana, and Mari are sent to prison and literally stripped of their dignity. Actually, we don’t even watch more than 2 minutes involving the three witches. Most of the episode does consist the boys interacting with the girls of the school. Kiyoshi and Chiyo are cute together. And there’s some hope for Anzu and Shingo after all that has happened between them. That just leaves Gakuto, Andre, and Jo. Andre quickly became popular with the ladies for being strong. Gakuto got lucky with the world’s unluckiest girl. Since it’s a given that Gakuto risked being an outcast through high school and quite possibly a virgin for life after he shit his pants during class. This girl understands due to a similar incident that happened when she was younger. And like I said before she’s the world’s unluckiest girl. She ends up in mishaps where we end up seeing her panties or her being half-naked for some reason. But all wasn’t good with one of the boys. Jo started to feel that he’s unable to survive in the outside world and misses being locked up. And he was willing to fondle a girl’s ass just to go back in the system. Kinda relatable to people who are locked up for a long time and they know no other life outside prison. Really sad! But Jo gets a surprise by a female classmate as she took the time to give him a baked good personally and even address him by name. This actually touched Jo and made him second-guess the whole prospect of living outside the system. And through some accidents, Andre wound up naked, bondaged, and kicked by scared, naked females. Don’t ask. It’s an OVA. OVA’s are notorious for kinky shit like this happening. Despite a lot of fanservice (not aimed at me whatsoever), I was really captivated by the story of these boys trying to survive the prison school. The animation was very inventive at times and fun to watch. I just think I could do without constant close-ups of Meiko’s taint. And while I’m on the subject of Meiko, who put bull hormones in her milk?! Not since Eiken have I seen a high school girl with overly-eggagerated proportions and clothing that doesn’t leave much to the imagination. Okay, I'm being too harsh here. But if you watch this girl, you'll understand where I'm coming from. But I enjoyed the story overall. Shock factor and all! There were so many shocking moments in the anime that might scare off some folks. I leaned in closer, jaw-dropped waiting to see if there’s another scene in this anime that’s going to top this one! My only issue was with the dub. Yes, controversial line aside, some of the voices just feel like they didn’t belong. Particularly when it comes to characters like Gakuto and Andre! But I honestly think it’s because I was never a fan of Eric Vale voicing a high school student…yes, even when he was doing that on Fruits Basket. If you’re looking for a thrilling anime filled with escape plans, sweat dripping from between girl’s thighs (skeet, skeet, mother fucker), clever moments, oh my gosh moments, big ol’ jiggly bits, and moments that’ll keep you at the edge of your seat, check this one out. Just watch the dub at your own risk. And if you want more of that, the manga goes much, much, much further than what the anime tells. Currently, FUNimation and Hulu are the only ones streaming the series. The OVA, Mad Wax is not streamed on any platform. I’m also pretty confident it’s not on the home release either. So you might have to do some digging around for that one. Okay, that's done. Okay what anime on my LONG list of FUNimation licensed animes am I going to watch next? Let's fire up the random... Yes, I see you Zombieland Saga. But I really need to do the randomizer and... Yes, I realize Mamoru Miyano is in this and is at his maximum craziest. It's just that I have a long list to get through and...

OKAY, FINE! I'll watch Zombieland Saga! I'm hoping that this guy is crazier than Cilan, Rintaro Okabe, Light Yagami, and Tamaki Suoh.
