Since my other Nether worldbuilding post was received pretty well... I'm back on my bullshit!
This time featuring zoning and biomes of the Neath: Lore below cut
Nether (noun): the formidable hellscape straddling the boundery between the Fragments of the Overworld and Death's Realms.
Derived from Beneath -> Neath -> Neth -> Nether.
The Nether is most easily accessable through outer regions of the nether, regions that are comparatively closed-off, and lacking in biodiversity compared to the Deep Nether where most Neath civilizations are centered.
The Neth is divided into three primary zones, distinguished by altitude and general climates.
The Calfactory Zone: the largest and most iconic of the three, the Calfactory zone is blisteringly hot and bone-dry, it's most prominent features are its abundant seas and lakes of magma, and the massive Supermagmas atriums that are common above the magma. In the largest of these atriums, the ceiling may be so high above as to be completely invisible from the ground, obscured by an ever present smog of toxic vapor and minerals formed in the self-generated micro-climates that are generated from the rising heat of the lava that begins to cool at a higher altitude.
In the Basalt Deltas and other biomes around the edges of these lakes, massive pillars of rock and crystals bulwark the more-visible ceiling.
The most common of this zone’s biomes is the Crimson woods, home to hearty thermal-philic fungi and plants that grow on the minerals and vapors of the lakes. Many are carnivorous in their lack of access to water or sunlight, and these forests contain many sub-biomes and ecosystems of flourishing life.
The Wastes are perhaps the most desolate regions of the Neath, irradiated deserts of red-rock, brimstone, and sharp sand. Even the vast majority of nether-folk avoid these deserts due to the leftover radiation that rots and destroys anything that waits too long. The only forms of life are particularly robust lichens and bacteria that are happy to sit by the boiling pools of sulfur and mud and toxic sludge that dot the landscape. Growing within the rocks themselves are colonies of amorphous fungus, called geocorpus molds, they get their spores into cracks in the soft netherack and slowly feed on it; the ‘rock meat’ is considered a delicacy in nether cuisine.
The Temperate Zone: Cradled in the heights of the Neath’s atriums and sat below the roof is the temperate zones; the rising heat of the zone below begins to cool and by doing so, distinct weather patterns form within this zone, leaving it, while still sweltering, a cooler though much more humid climate.
The main biome are the luminescent warped-fungal rainforests that collect the high-rising minerals and odd moisture from the lakes. Liquid is actually present here, though, if it’s not safely filtered through the innards of the various plants and fungi, this water is usually aggressively corrosive, and it is best to shelter from the acidic precipitation to avoid chemical burns. The nether folk and ender local to these rainforests are suited to deal with these conditions and the ender especially do not have trouble with the extreme pH of the water here like they would in the overworld. The zone is lit almost exclusively by the biolumincense of the organisms there and have often been described as false-stars.
In the Deep Nether, the ceiling may give way, allowing one to pass onto the plateaus of the Nether Roof and the yawning void above. The bedrock of the nether roof is jagged and layered in huge slabs, sometimes broken up my mazes of pillar-like structures and shallow, thermal pools of crystal-clear liquid. The kind you don't want to touch of course. fogs may hang low to the ground, but when its clear, or above the fog, the entire universe seems to spill out into the sky. The nether roof was culturally significant and a source of much knowledge and inspiration in the early days, but I'll get more into that in a later post 0.0
The Rime Zone: Plunge deep enough and one might find themselves bellow the lava beds. Here, where the heat can't quite penetrate, the temperatures will drop rapidly to sub-zero.
Namely, the Rime Zone is made up of the soul valleys, flat steppes of cinder and clotted sand, you can imagine it almost with the blindness effect, a fog that pools by your feet, and a heavier darkness hanging from the sky, it feels massive and endless and claustrophobic all at once. Frost collects as crystals on the irradiated, soul-soaked barrens, and the bones of the massive nether wyrms lie fossilized, breaking up the landscape. The sands are also split with patches of crazing on the ground and vents of blue fire that spills out and sets the sand ablaze.
These same wryms can be found sometimes, ancient things that dig through sand and soft rocks and the magma lakes, far and few between and treated with both fear and reverence.
And in the deepest pits of the Neath are the glowing frozen lakes that are colloquially and rightfully called the Gates to Death, glowing blue from beneath their surfaces. Indeed, any further down and you pass into limbo, the edge of Death's Realms.
Extra Notes??:
Soul sand/soil is tread on carefully or not at all, is one form of remnants from the apocolyspe. Like the general radiated rubble present through the Nether, it's a fault of nuclear fallout. Unlike other areas of radiation, its also been infused with the souls of those who didn't survive the joining of worlds. That said, unlike soul sand, soul soil is used productively to grow certain nether crops. It’s minerally and magically dense.
This infused quality is also precent in Nether Debris, resulting in a material that takes magic particularly well.
Iron cannot be found in dense veins and crystals like gold or quartz in the nether, but it's a pretty rich mineral a lot of netherack, giving it its ruddy coloring.
Sorry for this massive rant that no one asked for. If you have questions please feel free to send an ask, I may not have an answer yet but I'll certainly come up with one if I can.
I'm also hoping to do a pass on my headcanons about history and culture in the Nether and then we might start talking about character headcanons since this is also an actual AU.
If you read this far, here's some notes on striders and ghast

Minecraft feels like it doesn’t know what to do for big updates any more so they’re doing like small miscellaneous updates collected together. I wish they’d move on from trying to give them a theme bc I feel like that’s just confusing.
One thing I wish they’d do is do updates from time to time and go back and add pieces to old update. Like maybe add more fish or tree types.
Specifically what made me have this thought is that I’d love if they’d add more to the geodes. Like the amethysts are lovely but I’d love if there was a whole range of crystals to find in geodes!! I feel like that’s along the line of the archaeological stuff they’ve done recently! Digging into the earth for history and stuff!
Also if they ever do a forest update I’d freak out. I’d love if they revamped their nature bc I feel like that part of the over world specifically has been the same since the beginning era of minecraft. Like ocean, nether, caves, villages, NOW FOREST. And end.
Feels like natural progression of their universe growing! And I like feeling like the updates can have a “story” like aspect to me. Especially bc worldbuilding. Favorite idea when it comes to minecraft lore
#mineblr#Minecraft#Minecraft game development#Minecraft updates#minecraft lore#minecraft worldbuilding#minecraft caves#minecraft crystals#ROCKS ROCKS AND MORE ROCKS#like if they could add to the andesite granite diorite thing too with like limestone and other minerals#MINERAL ROCK UPDATE#GEOLOGY UPDATE#they could add like volcanic and igneous rocks to the nether??? l#I like this idea very very much#minecraft and game development are my special interests#and worldbuilding but that’s like a part of those and my storytelling spins#I feel like there’s some things in minecraft that people love to add thru mods that mods shouldn’t be necessary for#like more biomes! I get biome design or unique biomes but give plains and forests more flavor!#or forest animals! OR BUGS ADD BUGS#I get mods for dungeons or cute decoration but simple worldbuilding shouldn’t need mods#I’m getting frustrated with being dissatisfied with vanilla minecraft when all I want are more variability to blocks and biome expansion!#often times mods are too complex and add too much over vanilla minecraft when I like vanilla minecraft#it’s just after all this time especially with cave and cliffs added the nature feels behind and too simple

Orphan’s Path is one of the most beautiful pieces of fanfiction I’ve ever read- it just /perfectly/ encapsulates the boundless creativity that was my favorite thing about the MCYT fandom. Beyond just the storytelling though- the WORLDBUILDING just astounded me. From the more story-based beats like Sky and Moon’s Landing, Lagos’s splintering, and the Manifold, to the more general MC worldbuilding like totems of undying being created via ritual, pearleye, and ofc all the new months and the longer years and the server mechanics!
There are so many worldbuilding aspects I look at and go “i don’t know how they came up with this idea but i am going to aspire to reach for this level of creativity every time I try and tackle Minecraft as a setting.” I’m sure having multiple heads to put together for ever-fresh concepts really helped too!
I was wondering- did you have any sort of..personal guidelines or jumping-off-points as to how to approach integrating things into the Orp universe? Questions you’d ask yourselves or a theme to keep in mind with each new feature you figured out? Because I’d be delighted to be able to create with the same spirit y’all did. It’s inspired me ever since I first read Orp, and I think I’ll always look to it as an example of how much you can do when you’re handed a few pieces of lore and are determined to carry it all the way home.
a lot of what you're describing for how i approach worldbuilding boils down to "yes, and?" like taking even the most innocuous offhand stuff and deciding to find ways it does work. accepting it as true in some form and figuring out how this affects other things.
and the most important thing is you have to be willing to do this even with ridiculous shit. because all jokes come from something real, and you gotta not be embarrassed about writing a story or thinking about something stupid. be willing to look at something ridiculous and go "why ISN'T this stupid" first, "why IS this stupid" second. sometimes, it really can't be anything but stupid! but if you let a silly element breathe, that's where you can find a certain meat to a story that sometimes doesn't exist anywhere else.
fear is the mind killer. cringe is also the mind killer. you gotta shank any sense of shame or embarrassment that can come with engaging the premise YOU decided to create and explore, and a huge part of that is acknowledging the implications of seemingly (or genuinely) unserious elements of something at face value. writing off a character's silly name, goofy theme song, or meme humor is easier on yourself, sure, but it's so much more interesting in the long run if you don't. the absurdity of a setting is part of the setting! don't pretend it isn't!
you CANNOT get "piglin family units dictate the societal structure of the nether" in orp without first accepting "orphans killed my parents".

Demon Trio rambling because I genuinely love cubito demon lore so much!!
First off, although I do want demon/immortal lore to be talked about more on the server I genuinely love that the whole mysteriousness of it allows fans to create so many headcanons about the worldbuilding, the characters, and their history. It's so cool how people can say different things about these Minecraft demons and we can all say they're true and valid because we really don't know much about the demons in canon.
So q!Bad has hinted at a fallen angel past multiple times before, and surprisingly, he is the one we know most about. But we also know q!Mouse is a pure demon in the sense that she was most likely born and raised in the Nether- from this info we can also gather that not all demons are fallen angels which is so cool! Q!Mouse said she can sense a demon's presence simply by their smell which is how she was able to find out about q!Tina and q!Bad despite their apprehension and efforts to hide their nature. Them hiding the fact that they are demons led to q!Mouse being insecure about her demon nature herself. From that we can gather demons are probably not very welcomed in the Overworld and have many stigmas against them.
Another thing that's kinda crazy is how out of all the three demons, q!Tina is the one we know little to nothing about. We know she shaves her horns and feels very ashamed that she is a demon, but we don't really know why. And that opens up so many theories and possibilities about her character.
IT'S SO COOL!!!
Anyways, this is really just a huge ramble of me gushing about q!demons because I really love to see everyone's headcanons about them and little theories that further expands the world Quesadilla Island is in!
#qsmp#qsmp badboyhalo#qsmp ironmouse#qsmp tina#qsmp demons#DEMON TRIO WOOOOO#this isnt really an analysis or anything- i just think theyre neat lols

can i ask what you have in store for the divine warriors 👀
writing the divine warriors for me mostly is because i love historical context and worldbuilding - most of my notes so far cover pre-divinity and childhood. i guess what i have in store in terms of changes covers what i feel the divine *could* have been. i don't necessarily want their stories precisely expanded on in canon because i think they can serve better as ideas n concepts n expectations for canon to live up to, but for me personally -
having pre-divinity context of the world and how ru'auni (prior to becoming ru'aun) functions. i am loving working on the ru'aun geography rn. rearranging the timeline of divinity + what in canon is the war of the magi, which actually gets shifted around and revamped. the wyvern conflicts happen first and have nothing to do with shad. connecting mystreet's zi'tah lore to early mcd and by extension that goes hand in hand with the newly designed continent that ties into zi'tah.
in terms of character:
sorry but i hate how 90% of everyone treats rewriting menphia. hell i hate how canon treats her. i have a lot in store to tie her into zi'tah, scholarship and witchcraft & and her relationship to irene and shad in particular - she's one of the divine warriors who's receiving not only a title change but a huge shift in canon direction, which wasn't much to begin with. she probably has the most Original content, since her homeland is the new continent and ties directly into my rewrite of zi'tah.
drawing esmund a little closer into o'khasian history - a duke's son that becomes a knight for his king & becomes involved in wyvern hunts prior to becoming faithful to irene. i want to bring more context into garroth's lineage and o'khasian history as a whole. he's the only divine warrior that serves the king for a time and acts out against the other divine prior to his abandoning the city.
i love kul'zac but also i hate him he has been a pain in my ass. he has revamped titles but his goings on are probably the loosest of the divine thus far - he's got one of the healthiest genuine connections to irene and whats in store mostly ties into falcon claw & my aaron rewrite! which was briefly touched on in loverman but is kept for my rewrite. i also plan to have him involved briefly with the sacred forest alongside hyria and irene's relationship.
irene & shad were also touched on in loverman but whats in store for them is truly just Extending on canon and fattening their stories up. irene is already an incredibly interesting character so i'm mostly just building out from canon thru her relationships, childhood and the rearranged timeline. whats in store for shad revolves around a big shift in spirituality before the divine warriors, how mages fit into the worldbuilding, nether worldbuilding & just making some of the canon notes more filled out.
enki is also not changing much, most of the separation from him and canon is simply to do with his relationship with the devourer (azriel, aka the demon warlock) and the gal'ruk worldbuilding. most of whats in store with him is actually just azriel JFDJKDKJF.
i'm not infodumping too much about each of them specifically unless asked but this is just a general idea of what i have planned for them to connect to in mcd!

I heard netherborn worldbuilding and lore? 👀👀👀
For basics ig: there’s a lot of diff nether hybrid species (blaze bornes , ghastlings, etc) but netherbornes are basically humans that millions of years ago fled to the nether for whatever reason and over time have adapted to the environment in different ways . Such as ones that grew up in the crimson forests have red / blonde hair and fur and thicker skin, warped jungle ones ((this skizz)) has blue / teal / or rarely orange fur and have longer tails to help balance while in trees, and silly stuff like that, they are solely influenced by biome they have genetic traits which are passed on through their parents and were gained through the long line of evolution (ex. The longer tails) however there are secondary traits that can be influenced (namely fur colour that can be changed by hanging out in a biome for long enough) so you might get a basalt delta netherborne with thicker skin and hooves but with blue fur (instead of their normal ashy grey / black :D). But some may have genetic mutations or just different builds as although they normally fall into one of the handful of biomes groups you may get some between other netherbornes havin kids with other nether hybrids which may result in some more mob like netherbornes :3!!
(This is all just copy and pasted from messages but one day I am gonna make a netherborne world building chart w/ doodles and diagrams :3)
#fence posts#there is soooo so much more I could add but I am just so so tired and tomorrow is a beeg day hehe :3

THE
WINGSMP BLOG
Intro
The WingSMP is my fantasy Minecraft SMP that I have lots of lore and ideas for! There will be 5 bounds, three in the overworld, one in the nether, and one in the end! If you like this smp idea, feel free to make any OC's based off of the following descriptions! (For the overworld bounds, it may be confusing but SkyBounds have eagle/hawk shaped wings, Earthbounds have ostrich/emu like wings, and OceanBounds have Penguin like wings.)
BOUND INFORMATION
【IMPORTANT TO LORE!!】
Which one fits you?
(Fuck ignore the typos)
★☆The Gods☆★
There will be 3 gods! The OverWing, me the NetherWing, @lavend3rh4ze , and the EndWing, @regnskyllofficial ! Plus, the gods will have siblings of their own to live among the mortals! If this sounds familiar, that idea is heavily inspired by @covenofwives and their GodSiblings AU. I would be lying if I'd say this blog would exist without the inspiration of their own creative mind. In a way, artists find inspiration in some shape or form, and they were one of, if not the main inspiration to create and worldbuild this smp. Thank you.
(Click for better quality)
And a fun little side-lore.. fact.. thing.. idk. There will be a very, VERY, VERY rare ability called FeralForm that only gods can hand out since they have the magic capable of doing so! It's rumored that if you come across the god of the realm you reside in, they will grant you a FeralForm of your own (provided that the form is tied to what your origin, or BOUND, is) by the following:
SkyBounds: Rocs.
EarthBounds: Chocobos
OceanBounds: pelagornithids (Couldn't find a mythical aquatic bird for the life of me, so you get this extinct bird that can fly. Good for your tribe if someone is granted FeralForm!)
Netherbounds: Wyverns
Endbounds: Dragons (for obvious reasons if you read the bound info)
◇◆The FeralForms◆◇
◆◇of the Gods◇◆
(Click for better quality)
Are you curious or have any questions? Feel free to leave any asks! Of course, they won't be asked for a while since this new account was made on a whim when I found out I could easily make alts, so I'll still be on my break from the internet, but giving asks will give me things to post when I come back!

hopping onto anon (im shy lol) to give my ideas for shad followers: these people fought alongside shad and truly believed in his divinity; so when shad was thrown into the nether like a sopping wet webkinz, these humans were banished or followed shad to the nether. these humans ended up establishing a unique society who lived off of the nether and had loyalty to shad, now im realizing MCD lacked any worldbuilding on shad and it drives me the wall 😭😭😭
God the lack of any Shad lore makes me so mad. Especially since the lore we do get is either ignored or contradicts itself.
(Quick Note; I use the terms abyss and nether interchangeably as they’re just different ways to refer to the same place based off whether we are using OG or rebirth lore)
But I love that idea, just a little swarm of humans trying to survive in the abyss/nether and worship their god. I’d imagine that they were slightly more advanced in some places than most humans, as the time difference between the nether and the overworld is like… 14x I think? Like for every day in the overworld it’s two weeks in the abyss. So they’re a slight more knowledgeable about things they do have access to, like magic and the human body.
But also by open portals and realm barriers, I feel like they’d build temples dedicated to him, as they wouldn’t have the sole objective of murder that SKs do and they want to appreciate their god appropriately. They try not to spend too long outside of the Nether though, and have specific priests and priestesses that are assigned to the outerworld temples to keep them safe.
There are messengers who are allowed free travel between the temples and the nether and it’s a very highly esteemed job because of the dangers of it. Messengers typically don’t have families because being out in the overworld takes too much time away.
#I just Like to expand on other people’s ideas ignore me#aphmau#aphverse#rewrite#aphblr#minecraft diaries#mcd#amaranth#Shad the pussy destroyer#I should probably start using the normal Shad tag but I don’t know if I am brave enough

New to the blog and loving all of your art!! I’ve been on a comic/superhero kick lately and saw your amazing neopoltian trio hybrid super Au art from way back— do you still have your notes on it?? I would love to know more!
Oh wow, I haven't thought about that AU in a While! I definitely still have some of my notes, but most of them are in my head so all the physical notes are backstory and the first few planned chapters of the fic I was writing 😅
I put so much thought into the worldbuilding and plot of that au, maybe I should revisit it at some point...
Anyways, I'll just copy-paste all my notes below the line for you for now! If you have questions I'll happily answer, whether it's about the characters or the plot or the worldbuilding, I have it all in my head!
Setting:
Basic world lore is that the nether and end realms merged with the overworld(less the end, more the nether) and people started being born with ‘mob’ attributes. It’s semi post apocalyptic, the cities are surrounded by walls attack on titan style and outside the walls are the mobs. The further out you get the more dangerous they are. There are multiple cities and they’re all fairly modern. There are heroes and villains, don’t know how they started yet.
Prologue: Memories of a lost homeland, hope of a promised land.
When the Nether and End spilled into the overworld, so did many other things. Mobs, magic, wildlife, plants. And among those beings was a Virus. Created by the magic of the End and the Nether colliding was a Virus to the world. It started as a sprout in the center of the wastelands, but it grew, attaching itself to travelers and animals, looking for the best host.
ACT 1: The pact of our Youth
Tommy was kidnapped by an illegal organization when he was three, he’s (thought to be)an avian hybrid. He’s roomed with Dream(063.D), who’s around ten at that point, and after Dream gets attached he’s used as collateral so Dream cooperates with the organization’s plans.
Dream is given the resources to teach Tommy as rewards for achievements in training, and since Dream wasn’t always in the organization’s ‘care’ he taught Tommy about the outside world. Dream learned not to go against the organization years before Tommy showed up, so he taught Tommy to be neutral to the scientists.
Dream and Tommy didn’t use names when others could hear, at first it was a way for Dream to try to keep himself distant from Tommy but later it became a habit. Tommy often just called him ‘Green’ around the scientists because he’d compared his eyes to the color when Tommy had been learning, while Tommy was just ‘Star’ because he’d loved stories of the stars. They only called each other by name when they knew they were alone.
Dream is basically Tommy’s only positive attachment until he’s eight, when Dream is sent to work his way up the ranks of the heroes. (Dream is 15 at this point).
Dream leaves willingly, only because the organization promised he and Tommy would be free the moment they get what they want.
Tommy is then roomed with Wilbur and Technoblade, twelve year old Piglin hybrid twins who were recently brought in. Techno has the more obvious Piglin traits, he’s physically stronger, has tusks, and has bright pink hair, while Wilbur is only slightly above average strength wise, has burgundy hair, and is more aggressive to ‘outsiders’.
Tommy is initially wary of the twins, especially since his first interaction with them was Wilbur and Techno trying to attack the scientists as they were brought back to their room, but he slowly becomes curious about why they kept fighting. Eventually, after Wilbur is taken for testing, Tommy asks why they keep fighting. Techno tells him that they don’t belong there. When Tommy asks where they do belong, Techno says ‘Anywhere, as long as we’re together and free.’
There are a few time skips with flashes of Tommy, Techno and Wilbur bonding, Tommy never tells them his real names so Techno names him Theseus, Wilbur and Tommy coming up with stories about creating a nation(called ‘Vienna’, since Wilbur vaguely remembers the name from records of the world before.), Wilbur and Techno noticing that Tommy’s wings are growing gold feathers.
When Tommy is ten and Wilbur and Techno are fourteen, they make plans to escape and, eventually, they do.
ACT 2: hurt and grieve (but don’t suffer alone)
They’re on the streets for two weeks before Wilbur is injured and uses himself as a distraction for Tommy and Techno to escape. A few weeks after that Techno does the same, leaving Tommy alone.
Tommy is by himself for the next few months, until he meets Tubbo, a normal, if neglected, Ram hybrid kid his age. Tubbo hides Tommy in his room during the nights and they play at the park during the days until Tubbo’s parents find Tommy in Tubbos room. They decide to call the police the next day. However Tubbo decides that he’d rather be on the streets with Tommy then at home, alone without him and they run away together that night.
They’re both twelve by the time they’re able to afford a tiny, very much illegal, apartment. Tubbo had made some (somewhat accidental) connections with a trio of Vigilantes during their time on the streets (It’s Aimsey, Billzo, and Freddie because I couldn’t help it) by helping an injured Aimsey. Once Tommy realizes Vigilantes actually exist he starts planning to become one and take down the organization.
While all of this has been happening:
Wilbur and Techno were back with the organization, separated and under higher security. They knew the other was there but not how they were. After months of this there was a Hero Raid.
Techno was found by Philza, the no.1 hero, and he refused to go with them, fighting to find Wilbur. Philza went after him and eventually found Techno hugging Wilbur in a training room. Wilbur refused to let Philza near them until Techno convinced him to relax.
Techno and Wilbur didn’t trust anyone except Philza, and tried to run away from police custody multiple times to find Tommy. It wasn’t until Philza visited again and promised to look for Tommy that they calmed down. Philza got custody of them and they insisted on joining the Hero training program.
When Philza goes to tell the other heroes to keep an eye out for Tommy he’s pulled aside by Dream, a up-and-coming Hero who’s rising through the ranks rapidly. Dream tells him that the Hero commission is corrupt and that telling them would put Tommy in danger, insisting that he knows Tommy’s safe.
Back with Tommy:
They end up hacking into police records and find notes of a hero raid on an unknown illegal experimentation operation. They obviously decide to join in. In the chaos Tommy finds Ranboo hiding in a room deep in the building, away from the Heros and Scientists. Ranboo insists that he can’t be found by the Heros and, after Tubbo meets up with them, Tommy agrees to bring him with them and they escape the (now burning) building.
Wilbur was one of the heroes helping evacuate the area and he sees Tommy leaving with Ranboo and Tubbo, he recognises Tommy’s hair and Tommy’s wings look gold because of the fire. He calls for Theseus and Tommy turns back to look at him before disappearing in the crowds.
ACT 3:
Years later, Tommy and Tubbo are 16, Ranboo is 17, they’re all vigilantes.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/33003292
(That's all the notes I have specifically written out for plot for now, but I wrote a few chapters of a fic for this AU before I got too busy to write. I linked it there.)
Ages throughout the story:
Tommy: 3-8 when he’s with Dream, 8-10 with Wil and Techno, 10-12 on the streets and with Tubbo, 12-16 with Ranboo and Tubbo
Dream: 10-15 when he’s taking care of Tommy and being trained, 15-19 training as a hero to talking to Philza, 19-23 fully fledged hero
Wilbur and Techno: 12-14 with Tommy, 14-16 being saved to starting basic hero training, 16-20 looking for Tommy and becoming fully fledged heroes.
Philza: Old (/j, probably around 28 when he meets Wil and Techno
Powers/Hybrid traits:
Tommy:
Thought to be an Avian (a hybrid with permanent bird-like traits) but later realizes that he can hide his Hybrid attributes, making him Elytrian.
I haven’t actually decided his power yet haha
Techno:
A Piglin Hybrid, has enhanced physical strength, tusks, and pink hair.
His power is to manipulate Gold, shaping it into whatever he needs. He discovered it when he was on the run with Tommy, stealing a gold ring as a last-minute weapon. Once he becomes a hero he wears multiple pieces of gold jewelry and his trident is made of solid gold.
Wilbur:
A Piglin Hybrid, has slightly enhanced strength, burgundy hair, and is more aggressive and possessive than the average person.
His power is sound manipulation, using high frequencies to disorientate people and corrupt enemy frequencies. (I was thinking of giving it a physical effect as well but idk what)
Philza:
An Elytrian Hybrid, has the typical Avian attributes but is able to ‘de-summon’ them at will.
I had way more stuff for worldbuilding but I got a new phone and the transfer deleted the app it was written in 😔
I do, however, have playlists for all the characters where the songs follow their full personal plot in the story. Granted, y'all wouldn't understand most of it, since you don't know the plot, but still, they exist😅

As far as Whittled Pantheon goes.. a few questions. 1) It was originally a MC RP.. how has it being made into a group writing project affected certain liberties you have been able to take?
2) How has the loss of the original group of character creators affected the direction the story has gone and what difficulties have presented themselves as a result of this?
3) What aspects of the story have changed since its conception? (I.e., the Catalyst, characters' personalities and actions, etc., etc.)
Love this stuff (:
omg hi.. hiii... HI... long time no see hope you've been doing really well aaaahhhhh ahhh ahhh!!! also this set of questions is so freaking cool to answer... aAHHHHH HHH! AHHH!! also your smiley face is still the wrong way i guess some things never change :)
i will warn you that asking me about the whittled pantheon is like walking into a minefield and i think i got really incomprehensible here so i'm sticking this all under the cut. thanks so much for the ask
also i seriously think a lot about how this all happened w the og group :) and i for sure did not manage to properly say everything i wanted to within this ask haha
wanna start by saying i feel like since the beginning the whittled pantheon was always going to grow out of minecraft. like as soon as we said lets make them gods in survival minecraft there was so much like. worldbuilding and context and stuff that was automatically just so much bigger and complex than minecraft was able to provide and i honestly think that was very charming. like we - and by we i mean literally all of the original group of creators - put so much love and thought into this that of course it was going to grow further than we expected. and i think that's really beautiful.
1) moving it away from minecraft absolutely EXPLODED the possibilities which i think you ended up seeing the first part of? especially within the context of the old world which before really functioned as like... another server. since moving it away the worldbuilding has gotten really unique - specifically in regards to things like language and culture, which i feel like minecraft lays out within its own game lore? yk? so moving it outside of that really changed a lot. and things like... we're not tied to minecraft mechanics in terms of the nether and the overworld and the mobs and stuff, like that's not really a factor? anyways we were able to take a lot more liberties in terms of godly powers and abilities and creations, and worldmaps and timelines and just so much specific city culture and building. but as i'm writing this it's occuring to me - and i don't know if like, twig or tgm would say this as well - but it's a bit funny because even now picturing the new world/post catalyst i... still imagine it in the format and layout of our minecraft server. like in terms of where houses are, the paths, aides' tree and the warren... like when i picture that i'm still picturing the server. maybe that's just because your ask got me thinking about it i'm not sure but it's kinda funny!
2) i mean it changed a lot. i think this is the answer that is gonna vary the most if you were to ask it to tgm or twig because i think our individual relationships to the group and such are different but i will say that the main difficulty for me has always been like. wanting to include people in the process and getting nervous that people will feel excluded or that we've taken too many liberties with it and people will be angry that we didn't consult them, but also... it's hard to manage consistency and communication for as large and complex of a project as what the whittled pantheon was becoming especially within the context of the group at the time. and i think that bit kinda speaks for itself, haha. the main change i think was again the worldbuilding and a bit the arc of the characters - we never changed really personalities, exactly, i think the main cast stayed relatively true to original concept in many ways, but there's a bit of archetyping of characters in terms of their roles within the larger story that were impossible to predict when we started. the story itself for sure also became a lot more of a commentary on society which i don't think outside of tgm's stuff with agathodaemon it was beforehand - because largely that wasn't what the whole group was into, from what i remember.
the other thing in terms of all of that is, especially on my end, the attempt to stay true to the original concepts without like. being able to know for sure where y'all were going with it all. there were some parts of lore that either never got fleshed out or i personally never fully understood or never fit within the worldbuilding that the majority had set up, and so it was like. hard to make sure that that was close to what it had been while still making sense. thinking about maey forever. and idk like i'd talk to people and they'd be like "hey what's up with my character and can i write stuff" a year later and it was tough to be like "yeah here's kinda... how its changed. please don't b mad and also you can write stuff but its so much more complex now" idk it is kinda scary.
3) changes time EEE. lets see. im gonna make you a little list :]
the worldbuilding at its very basic essentials changed SO much. how the planet systems and how the Carver came to be are much more solid. i kinda dont know how to explain it because the effects of it are still the same but its just more detailed? if you want more the tag on my pinned post "whittled pantheon explanations" has a lot of it
other big change was the Failsafes - Melior, Palaemon, and Aides. failsafe is a type of god essentially and there are two per each world (the Carver isn't supposed to carve any other gods just set the two failsafes down and move on) and they are like the protectors and caretakers of the world. there's usually an earth one and a water one - for the old world, Melior is the earth and Palaemon is the water. this is why things get SO BAD when Palaemon dies, because he's fundamentally a part of the world. And Aides is the earth failsafe for the new world, and is awakened by Agathodaemon when he goes back to get Iota. failsafes can create passages (like. melior goddess of paths yk) between worlds (melior creates the one to the new world originally and aides then creates the warren back to the old world). so you can prolly see a lot of the similarities in terms of plot function, just we've kinda slotted it all into worldbuilding better.
uhm the Catalyst. no longer about turning into glass haha, that just stopped making as much sense. it's still the end of the world, but there's a lot more... politics? in it? it's more centered around the loss of water, so there's a lot of faction-action surrounding like... the last standing sources of water. the fortuna and iota stuff is still pretty much the same though.
a lot of character actions still stay the same at their core, i think. like there's been modification for sure but a lot of the story concepts that were fully written out stayed the same. maey's stuff with kappa has been slotted into worldbuilding but still remains at its core the same, the relationship between morrighan and ludo in all its godly toxicity still remains a lot of what it was. the whittled pantheon started out as a story driven by the characters. there's not some big bad guy out there to destroy them, it's entirely the actions of the characters and so in a lot of ways there was absolutely no way for us to ever lose sight of that bc that would fundamentally change the project.
final thing because this is so ungodly long. i think you will be maybe pleased toknow that to my knowledge the stuff in the new world with morrighan. that arc. + her convos with agathodaemon. are still pretty much the same.
anyways if you got to the end of this hey. hi. i kinda lost my mind answering this but i hope it meant something. the whittled pantheon means the world to me and what we created with the original server really i think fundamentally changed my life. and you had a lot to do with that, so thanks.
and uhm you are always welcome to pop into my dms or whatever.. i know we havent really talked in a while but i hope youre doing so good <3

Hello Terra! I am here to pester you with questions about your lifestuck au!! I am sorry for the way I’m about to become obsessed with worldbuilding in your inbox (<- not actually sorry)
Number 1!! Are Earth and Alternia the same as in HS canon, or is it more of a minecraft world? Do they even have Earth and Alternia or is everyone from the same place?
2! From the posts you’ve made so far it sounds like the game itself is leaning more life games than sburb… Do you think players are more encouraged to work together or to fight each other? Or is it kind of up to them?
hello guppy!! and thank you very much for the ask :]!! all of this stuff is subject to change because i'm very super indecisive about aus BUT...
earth and alternia are pretty much the same! definitely different locations -- mostly because i think the cross-cultural interactions between the humans + trolls in homestuck are so funny and can't bring myself to cut that out of here. i have been considering basing 'earth' more on the overworld and 'alternia' on the nether which would be interesting as well... that influence would be only in terms of things like geography and architecture, though, since the more minecraft-y mechanics only get implemented when they start the game. but it definitely has some cool worldbuilding implications ^^
as for your second question, i do think the players are made to work together initially! even against their will, for some of them (read: pearle as scot's patron troll in lieu of the soulmate mechanic) (an attempt at working together is made) (it does not go well). this all kind of starts being less of a thing as they get further into the game and it becomes clear that there can only be so many winners, though. then things start going downhill
i do want to make a post or drawing of some sort explaining the lore of the game itself because i have a few ideas for it!! that might be up in a few days? hopefully ^^
#apologies for responding a tad late i've been contemplating the answers to this since you sent it!#see again: very super indecisive about aus lol#askbox#friendstag#(also 🤝 insane about worldbuilding buddies.. love thinking abt this kind of stuff so much)#lifestuck au

Etheos Masterpost
(trying out this as a better way to catalogue lore and things for those not wrapped up in my google docs hellscape)
"The Server of Etheos is a world of its own, a world of hidden magics, hybrids, monsters, dimensions, and kingdoms. Surrounded by great seas, filled with lush jungles, thick forests, wide plains, towering mountains, and stifling deserts… For centuries, it has existed as such. People claimed the lands, waged wars, took lives, and toppled empires. Inversely, people settled, fell in love, gave life, and led the people of the lands. Etheos is rich in history, told through many stories and confined to legends or lost to time altogether.
To you, worlds can be created with the tap of a finger, the whim of a creative mind. To you, they are pixels on a screen, moving lights creating a picture of a world at your mercy.
To them, it is real.
To them, this is their world, this is their home, and they know nothing more.
They are the players.
This is the game.
Thus begins a new story, a tale untold, of travels and wars, of secrets and brotherhood, of quests to alter the very course of the universe.
May the adventure begin."
Etheos is an incredibly developed fantasy world built on the foundations of Minecraft mechanics, creatures, and lore created by myself and @howcow47. I (Vaughn) am the main writer and artist of the series, with HowCow being my beta reader and fellow story architect.
And no, I have poured too much time and creativity into this story to even THINK about abandoning it (approx. 23 google docs + 3 spreadsheets + so much more). Updates might be slow, however.

I've realized that i havent properly introduced my ocs yet so. here is a BASIC rundown of my ocs & who they know/are related to & who they are. im going to try to keep this as basic and simple but its kinda hard for me to do that
first things first: they are dsmp worldbuilding ocs. they have very little to do with the actual canon, but you will recognize some things. also I've kinda repurposed some characters for my own lore
also : techno is NOT the blood god. he's the blood god's champion. the blood god is a separate god
okay so lets get into it
EROS : she/it/love. she's the goddess of love, and is also a war god (War of Love). love is c!ranboo's mom. she is married to Erebus, and is queen of the end. she does very little politics, and is more into outreach than policy. she is very kind and gentle, but can be terrifying. she is immortal. she is the child of Hysteria and the Blood God. because of this, it is not an ancient god, and therefore isn't extremely powerful. she's a shapeshifter. love lives in the End
EREBUS: they/she. she's the ruler of the end. they are a very good and fair ruler. she is the twin of z. z & erebus overthrew the old ruler. they are married to Eros, and are c!ranboo's other mom. they are the child of an enderman and the god of the void. they are immortal. they live in the end.
Z: they/them. they are erebus's twin. child of an enderman and the god of the void. they live in the end. they are a scholar and a scientist. they helped organize the people for the rebellion to overthrow the old king
^these guys all live at the same time and regularly interact !!!!
CRESSIDA: she/her. she's the child of the goddess of the nether and the blood god. she is very kind and extremely loyal and protective. she is also a badass warrior. she died during battle protecting her sounder (shes a piglin hybrid btw) which made her ascend to godhood. her physical body became jewels and precious metals and stuff (why piglins love gold) so as a god she doesn't have a physical form. like if she tries hard enough she can appear in dreams but it takes a lot out of her. she died a long time BEFORE eros & erebus were even born so they never met
OBERON: he/they. he's the child of hysteria and some (probably) forest nymph. he lost his memory, so he doesn't remeber his past at all. he was found wandering the nether by cressida. she brought him into the bastion and helped him gain his feet. he was head over heels in love with her. she eventually becomes good friends with her. she's also aroace (it's okay tho cause they r lithoromantic so it works out). she is his everything. he struggles a lot with his mind bending powers from their dad (hysteria), and cressida grounds him. when she dies, he looses it and decimates the nether with his powers. using cressidas teachings, he manages to control it to a forest he grew, thus becoming the god of warped forests. he lives in self-imposed exile, away from anyone.
^cressida and oberon are BEFORE eros & erebus & z!! they don't interact with them.
THE GOD OF BLOOD, FLESH, AND BONE: aka the blood god. they/them mainly but also chill with it & he. an ancient god (original). born in the overworld. made a deal with the goddess of the nether to live there. domain is the physical body. also a war god (War of Bloodlust). often appears as a piglin or piglin hybrid. patron god of piglins. eros & cressida are their only children. was much more affectionate, but when cressida died they became cold and antisocial. by the time c!ranboo was born, they were like. warming up again. c!techno is their champion (person chosen to do their bidding and they have special gifts and stuff). they have a very strong grudge against hysteria.
HYSTERIA: he/him. the god of the mind, emotions, and sanity. patron god of humanity & the arts. the third (and final*) war god (War of Power). lives in the overworld. a slut. has tons of children that he does not keep track of or take care of. also an ancient god. a shapeshifter. again, by the time c!ranboo was born, he was getting a bit better about the whole "caring for other people thing". has a very strong rivalry with the blood god.
^these guys exist throughout the story!!! they interact with both cressida & obereon and erebus & eros (though not much)
#*in a au there is a fourth war god !!! not revealing that here because it brings up a lot of questions but mentioning that#anyway i have a ton more ocs in this world but im not mentioning them here because im mostly going to be talking about these guys#feel free to ask questions tho !!!#rain feathers dsmp#oc : eros#oc : erebus#oc : cressida#oc : oberon#oc : the god of blood flesh and bone#oc : hysteria#rain feathers original#ocs#oc backstory

How much worldbuilding do you have? Not because I love it or anything- (I've already noticed some of the bits you've sprinkled in regarding architecture and clothing but I would love to hear more if you want to share!! More on these or language or food or trade exports or-)
ooOOH WORDBUILDING. my beloved. especially for Golden Rings. i have some (?) that's fully fleshed out and fully coherent, absolutely! Pulling from some of your suggestions, so starting with trade, the Nether and the Overworld are obviously in constant contact and commerce with each other. That much is kinda obvious, since The End is actually sorta..limted access only? Compared to just poppin' up a Nether portal, at least. Most of the exports between the Nether and overworld areee typically building materials at a massive level, meaning that things like quartz, blackstone, all those fancy materials are constantly being traded and paid for and brought through. On a smaller level, though, the nether is also known for its apothecary-related materials for potion making, which is obviously based on gameplay. (Blaze rods, magma cream, etc.) so shops and other people also find trade sources within the nether for those sorts of things. hopefully that makes sense haha i also LOVE that you noticed my architecture lore. because god. i don't know a ton about it in technical terms— but if i've learned ANYTHING from this fandom, it's that a building can have a LOT to say and a lot of meaning. And you mentioned the gates the other day in your ao3 comment, but there's more! Like, the windows for example are pretty obvious, but they definitely have such open windows because the Overworld Royal line has 1. always had winged beings in it, so it was built for easy take off and landing's sake and 2. their entire thing is about being open and having access to the rest of the world. Whereas in the Nether, they're very iron-clad and defended. Mostly because they live in a place with many hostile beings that can do real damage (ahem. GHASTS.), but also because i think they have more of a protection priority and want that impression to carry through into the castle :) so you can see how their ideals and defenses might definitely clash in something like,, war. which i need to try and expand on sometime because i'm just flying by the seat of my pants with what they were actually fighting over lol.
BUT! one thing i can also say is that the Overworld's army is much bigger than the Nether's. This being because the Nether, who takes pride in defense and such, trains their soldiers and knights to be multi-faceted. They can handle a lot that is thrown at them, and they're very diverse since they technically have to consider fighting on multiple kinds of landscape/in different weather/etc. So, while they may lack in number, they make up for in a really intensely strong and adaptable force of soldiers. But the Overworld doesn't really have that, not as much as the Nether. So, they have power in numbers and larger, oddly complex weaponry. uhhHH i haven't thought TOO much about language aside from a few things that are not at all coherent in my brain! but here's one thing, i suppose! :D People from the Nether or the End will often use "Void" instead of "Gods" like people in the overworld do. Obviously language is fluid and exchanged, so this isn't a fixed concept. but depending on how close you are to a town/village with a nether portal, there will be lots of different languages/slang the closer you get, because it's likely those who live in that town have visited/lived in the nether at some point and have picked up a few things while they were there. i just thought that was kind of an interesting lil tid bit. annnd i'm gonna shut up now before i write a whole ass essay in your ask response LMAO dude,, you really know how to get me goin' with this story,, woooughh but thank you for asking!! i really love talking about it and answering the questions so sfksj

I love mixing wider minecraft fanlore into mcyt fics of mine for the worldbuilding. Herobrine is a sort of boogeyman people tell their kids not to wander far from their houses or else he'll get ya. That kind of stuff.
Oh yeah I love it when people worldbuild in Minecraft, esp with culture and food and stuff! Feel free to tell me more of your headcanons if you want!I don’t really have anything on minecraft lore besides the “dimensions” but a headcanon for how endermen happened.
I believe that the endermen and end cities are the result of an ancient civilization, a subsection of which whom wanted to obtain immortality and got a lil too arrogant about it after moving to the magic void at the center of the planet from which the overworld and nether were formed and building a society there. They tried to ascend to the astral plain, where the “gods” were, transforming their physical bodies into magic centered around objects now known as pearls!
The other members of this species slowly developed into what are now known as players. their bodies are mostly like. Magicy spirit stuff trying to be flesh? Their souls are stuck in an eternal cycle of growing too tired to maintain their physical bodies/being killed, regaining energy in the ether for a bit, and reincarnating into a new baby body as a new person. They’re so tall because they’re pulled simultaneously towards the portal, a site of very high magic (magic is kind of like heat in that it’s everywhere but not equally and produced passively by humans. Endermen eat magic, they can taste but their senses are geared towards whatever contains the most magic, which is usually meat or a crafted food) and towards the void surrounding the universe where the gods dwell, which stretches them out. I’ll reblog some art that looks a bit like what I think they look like.
