warnings: please read the warnings before reading. reckless regard for safety, suggestive content, unhealthy obsession, alcohol, stalker behavior (both reader and siren) no spoilers for the fic if you haven’t read it, if I forgot anything let me know, unedited!
Tumblr media
You knew it was wrong, so, so wrong. He was a villain, a terrible person in every way. but the small voice in the back of your brain told you otherwise. You couldn’t deny the pang in your heart that told you the opposite. For once your heart and brain were getting along on one subject.
It was late on a Saturday night. People on the upper east side of the city were out after another exhausting week of work. Getting drunk, laid, whatever.
Only a month ago it was a night like this you met him.
Wandering home late from a company party with coworkers at a bar. It was stupid to walk home alone, especially in this city. With all the criminals running rampant, and the heroes and villains getting into public brawls that caused city-wide damage, it was a wonder why anyone still lived in L’manberg. For many people, it was home, including yours. You never imagined living anywhere else, you grew up in this city, and it was all you knew.
A man had followed you for two blocks and you only noticed when you could hear his footsteps padding behind you. You had never been so scared of what this person might do to you. Trying to lose him by turning down a busy street, then getting turned around and ending up in an alleyway. The man had cornered you against the wall of one of the buildings.
Then he was being yanked away from you roughly. Another figure had appeared, dragging the man away from you before he could do anything. Scrambling away and mumbling incoherent words, he didn’t even look back twice. He ran and disappeared around the corner.
Allowing a shaking breath to pass your lips in relief, you began to thank whoever your savorer was when you finally got a look. He was tall, he dawned a dark trench coat and fingerless gloves. You caught the eye of the dark blue bandana that covered his eyes and it clicked in your brain. After watching countless news broadcasts it became clear and unmistakable who he was.
Siren.
Part of the supervillain group known as the syndicate, he was the most feared apart from The Blade and Zephyrus. The ability to control minds made him unpredictable. Unexplainably, he didn't seem to frighten you like the man who was following you. Siren's odd behavior fascinated you to a degree that since then almost every night you've skipped taking the bus and chosen to walk home alone in the dark. Determined to find him. It was foolish despite something inside giving you a rush to see him again.
For two weeks, you waited for him to show up and help you in dangerous situations. You got into trouble two more times, but each time you saw him, you felt better because you knew he would be there for you.
Tonight was no different. You had purposely gone into the bar with a mission to find the sketchiest man you could. Luckily, you didn’t have to look very far since there were creeps everywhere in this bar already giving you stares, licking their lips like you were an object, something they could take. It made your stomach turn, but you sat down two seats away from one guy who was drinking what looked like a rum and coke.
He eyed you up and down, his gaze lingering on your legs. You internally grimaced but kept your act up of seeming like you liked this man's attention. You ordered a drink and began to sip it slowly through the straw when a presence sat beside you.
A knowing smirk pulled at your lips, the plan worked.
after a about a minute of chatting the stranger put his hand on your thigh. bold move.
“what do you say we get out of here?”
So you pay for your drink, slip out the door with the stranger, taking off down the road as he pulls you into a dimly lit alley way.
He presses you against the rough wall of the building, hot breath fanning across your neck as he leans in. It makes bile rise in your throat the reeking smell of rum lingering on his tongue. He tries to whisper something seductive in your ear, it doesn’t even come close to being sexy. His words slur and his hands wander down your body.
Before you could try to push him off, he’s being yanked away in the blink of an eye and shoved to the opposite building wall with a grunt.
A tall figure stands tall over the stranger, and your breath hitches in your throat.
“We just keep meeting like this, don’t we sweetheart?”
Siren had the man from the bar pinned up against the opposite wall with a hand wrapped around his throat. You could practically see the creep's face shade growing purple by the second, Siren's knuckles white with his grip tightening, all while giving you a sickly sweet smirk that made your knees buckle.
The man from the bar was still struggling to breathe as you and Siren had your little exchange. You had completely forgotten his existence until he made a strangled noise. Your eye shifted over to him before they moved back to Sirren again.
"Please, don't hurt him, he didn't get the chance to do anything."
Without even looking away from your gaze Siren released the man as he slumped to the floor clutching his throat, sputtering out coughs. The guy had taken off before you could even blink.
Siren inched closer to you with a swaggering step that made your breath hitch. You could make out his features faintly through the glow of the street light casting against his jaw, handsome, just as you remembered him. Taking him in as he towered over you. His hair was longer than the last time you saw him, and a scar was healing over his cheek. No doubt from the fight two nights ago with him and Dream that was broadcasted on the news. Still, he was as handsome as ever.
“Don’t think I don’t know what you’ve been up to.” Siren's voice modulator makes his voice sound rough almost like he was warning you.
Your heart pounded in your ears, mainly from the adrenaline and anticipation of seeing him again, you swallowed and tried to keep your breathing steady.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” you tried to play it coy, but he could probably tell if you were bullshitting.
“Don’t play dumb, you think I didn’t notice all those times I found you in a situation you couldn't get yourself out of was by accident? I know you’ve been looking for me, sweetheart.”
How would he have known?... unless.
"Have you been following me?" your voice sounding annoyed.
Siren scoffs and shakes his head in disbelief at your words.
"If you think I have time to babysit, then you clearly have no idea what really goes on in this city after dark."
"that still doesn't answer my question."
His lips were thin.
"let's just say I've kept an eye on you." he says. "weren't sure if you were hired by the heroes committee to find out information for a while, but turns out you're just a civilian with a death wish."
It seems like he was talking down to you and treating you as if you were a child. Maybe for good reason. He should turn around, and leave you in this ally like he did last time. However, there seems to be a force preventing him from moving away from standing just a few inches away from you.
“I mean what are you thinking? Don’t you know how stupid it is to get yourself into trouble like this? you could get hurt, or even worse end up dead.” his words are sharp. "There are other villains out there that would take advantage of you sweetheart, and I don't say that lightly."
He was right. You were this fucking dumb. All to get the attention of a supervillain.
“I wanted to see you again.”
You can’t see his eyes due to the fabric covering but you’re sure he’s blinking at you in surprise. His mouth parted in shock, like a fish out of water before his lips hardened into a snarl again. Never once had you noticed him falter like that. Even for a moment.
He leaned over you before he spoke.
“Forget about me. Go back to your civilian life and stop trying to find me.”
Your eyes narrow at him. Pushing away from the wall to stride towards him until you're tilting up to try and be level with him, but his tall height makes that challenging.
“Don’t you think I’ve tried? I can’t stop thinking about you. Ever since you saved me all those weeks ago. I couldn’t understand why,” you took a step closer. Siren wanted to back away, but something was keeping his feet glued to his position. “why, would a villain of all people help someone like me? maybe, I am dumb, maybe I'm insane for thinking all those times you helped me you actually cared about me in some sick twisted way."
You can feel his hard stare under the mask. He says nothing as you go on your tangent. Your breath heaving, tears streaming down your face. Maybe it was better before you knew him. At least you wouldn't feel pathetic for crying over someone who disregarded you as nothing more than a fool with misconceptions.
"I'm sorry I burdened you with my stupidity. I was delusional to ever think a person like you could ever change.”
“A person like me?” his tone was challenging.
He looms over you walking closer until your pressed back against the wall, trapped.
“You don’t understand what a person like me has to do in order to survive.” he spits.
Pushing off your toes, you grip the back of his neck and pull him into a searing kiss. You just had to know what he tasted like. Shocked, Siren didn't move. Your soft lips pressed to his, your hands threading through his hair made him lean into you. He couldn't deny how intoxicating you were.
Practically throwing yourself at him. Your hands carded through his soft curly locks, slipping under his silk bandana almost uncovering his eyes. Siren didn’t care in the moment. He kissed you back with just as much frustration and passion. His hands gripping your hips, pulling you closer as he groaned into your mouth when you parted your lips to let him in. The taste of him had you reeling and seeing stars. Everything you had yearned for since the moment he saved you all those months ago.
When he had separated himself from you, disconnecting your lips you couldn’t breathe.
When you finally open your eyes in a flash he was gone.

Saturday Movie Night
I wrote this after it’s been floating around in my brain for a while now. Thanks to @josephfakingquinn & @ghost-proofbaby for encouraging me to post
———————-
The door to the Munson trailer slams wide open with a bang and Eddie falls out, “she’s here guys!” He shouts back into the noise of the trailer, everyone else must be here already.
“Hey there stranger, what took you so long? I’ve had to put up with Steve trying to convince me that Cocktail is a better movie than Poltergeist for the last half an hour!” he gags. Your friend since middle school, Eddie Munson could best be described as a human tornado, a real force of nature, it’s this energy and love of metal, DnD and the macabre that earned him the nickname of ‘freak’, but it’s what drew you to him.
“If you missed me Eds, all you have to do is say it” I smirk.
“Yeah, yeah, you’re just lucky I didn’t send Hopper out there with a search party” he jokes, biting back a smile and slings his arm around my shoulder dragging me inside. He’s solid and warm and smells like a mix of cigarettes and the spice from his cologne.
The trailer is small but cozy, car magazines litter the coffee table and a shelf full of novelty mugs covers the wall behind the couch. A tiny television stands in the room corner. Tonight it’s full to the brim, Steve and Robin in front of the tv, argue over what to watch, Nancy and Jonathan in the kitchen getting snacks and drinks and the Hellfire kids sprawled out across the floor arguing about the latest campaign Eddie had created.
“You’re here!” Robin shouts, spotting you and dragging you by the arm towards the tiny kitchen, to join Nancy “okay, okay I need your advice” Robin pleads. Eddie glances over at you as Robin explains her latest interaction with Vicki, her crush, and whether or not it means she’s into her.
“You could just tell her you know” Steve mutters, not even needing to look at Eddie to know where his attention is, instead looking at the tapes in his hand.
“Just pick the movie, King Steve” Eddie mocks and sips his beer.
The movie, finally chosen; Gremlins, much to yours and Eddie’s dismay; as everyone files into the small living space. Eddie takes a seat next to you as you sit down on the couch. As you continued to talk with Nancy and Robin about some upcoming girls day you lean your back against his arm.
Torture, Eddie decides, this is torture.
Dustin jumps at something on the screen, throwing his bowl of popcorn everywhere, as choruses of “Dustin!” and “you butthead” ring out Eddie decides it’s time, time to man up as Steve would say; he can’t believe he’s taking advice from Harrington; he taps your shoulder and gestures outside, miming a smoke. I nod.
No one seems to have noticed as the two of you slip out the door. You sit on the worn out couch near the door falling into a comfortable silence as Eddie lights up a cigarette.
“It was getting a little crowded in there, I miss when Saturday movie night was just the two of us” Eddie mutters around the cigarette. He blows the smoke out into the night as he hands it to you.
“And miss out on the chance to scare everyone with Hellraiser last week?” I chuckle, accepting the cigarette, you both laugh at the particular memory of seeing several members of your tight not group the next day, exhausted from not sleeping out of fear.
“Okay, I don’t miss that” Eddie concedes, sighing as silence falls over you again. I lean my head against the back of the couch, staring up at the stars.
“What’s on your mind?”
“Nothin’, nothin” he says not meeting my eye.
“Let’s pretend I buy that” I laugh, passing back the cigarette. Eddie leans his own head back glances at you.
“Do you remember, in middle school, we had to make those lame ass valentines cards?” He says.
Of course you remember, the only card you got was a funny joke card from Eddie that Jason Carver had promptly ripped it in two.
“You made me that..monkey card” I laugh “and I made you that one with my shitty flower drawing on the front”
Eddie doesn’t say anything, he leans forward pulling out his wallet. Opening it he pulls out a folded up piece of paper and places it on your thigh.
I unfold the paper to reveal it’s the silly little card, with the badly drawn flower on the front faded from age and being shoved into Eddie’s wallet.
“You kept it?” I run my fingers over the little flower.
“I kept everything” Eddie’s staring now. His weighted admission hangs in the air. “The card. Those character sheets you made for Hellfire, your posters you made for Corroded Coffins gigs”.
“You did? Why?”
“Don’t make me say it.” Eddie groans.
“Eddie you can’t just tell me….” The words die in your throat as Eddie suddenly surges forward and his lips find yours. It’s messy and full of feelings.
“Oh” the only word you can form once you have pulled apart for air.
“Yeah” Eddie says, suddenly self conscious. “It’s weird and I’m not good with this shit like Steve, but yeah..” he runs a hand over his face and curses.
“I don’t care about Steve, Eds” his eyes shoot back up to your face.
“No?” There’s hopefulness in his voice.
“No” I admit. He grins and kisses you again, slower this time, as his hand glides along your arm before coming to rest at the back of your neck, tangling in your hair, pulling you closer and your hands grip the front of his shirt.
…“Robin! You owe me 20 bucks!” You hear Steve yell.

Friday Nights
Fandom: Halloween 2007
Pairings: Zach Garrett x unnamed female oc
Word Count: 5,153
Warnings: Domestic violence, abusive relationships, drinking
Author's note: I honestly had forgotten that I had this sitting away. This was part of Nano 2023, and it hadn't seen the light. Big thanks for @tinalbion for reading through this and telling me the flow wasn't as terrible as I thought. You are wonderful! Cruddy gif is my own. Had to look everywhere to find the theatrical cut of Halloween since that is the only version that Bill's character Zach appears in.
Tumblr media
Friday nights had always been theirs, a time to unwind, relax, and have the company of someone that they actually enjoyed. Zach couldn't recall a time at this point in his life where it hadn't been the two of them on a Friday night. It didn't matter where. Her place, his, a bar chosen at random. The location never really meant anything. They could make do anywhere and everywhere. It just couldn't be missed and couldn't be messed up.
The exception to that rule had been if one of them was too ill or got stuck at work. Otherwise, the start of the weekend was a sacred time for them both. In the near fifteen years that they had been friends, that hadn't changed. No one else was allowed to encroach on the time. And no one ever had. Relationships came and went, each of them thinking that they had found somebody only to have Things fall through for one reason or another. Through it all, the Friday night get togethers never ceased. It was the one thing that they could each rely on no matter what happened in life.
That was until now. When she had called and said that she wouldn't be able to make their Friday get-together, Zack had thought that she was sick. He had offered to bring her whatever she needed, making the assumption that she was staying home. When she had told him that she was meeting up with a guy, a tightness in his chest formed. That wasn't right. Still, he managed to be a good friend and congratulated her. He was able to spit out the words that he was happy for her, even if they felt like acid on his tongue. He's supposed to should be thankful. She hadn't done it in person, which made it much easier to be able to lie. She would have known right away that he wasn't being genuine if she had been able to see his face. So, Zack did the only thing he could think to do. He picked up a shift at Smith Grove for Friday night. It would at least keep his mind off everything. There was a small selfish part of him that hoped it didn't go well, and if it didn't, he wouldn't be available for a phone call. The thought did make him feel a little guilty, but at the same time, it was fueled by hurt.
Friday night came and went, and there was no phone call. He felt it was safe to assume that everything had gone well. He wasn't sure if that made him feel better or worse. Though he didn't have to wait long to get more information. Midday Saturday, he had received a text from her. It was another apology for cancelling last minute, but in addition it included how wonderful the date had gone. Another false sentiment of happiness was given. Then she confirmed that they were indeed on for the following friday, that she wouldn't be cancelling and that she would be buying drinks. Zack didn't have the heart to say anything else to that besides agreeing. Maybe this thing with this guy would fizzle out, as they often did. If he could consider his luck with relationships bad, hers was worse. Maybe things could have been different, could be different if he could get his head out of his ass and actually say something to her. But the fear of ruining the friendship was far too high.
*******************
Things felt odd all week, something that he couldn't seem to shake. Like something was looming overhead, await that was pressing down and affecting every aspect of his life. Well, Fridays had always been that chance at releasing anything and everything that had built up during the week. This Friday almost seemed to be adding to the pressure. Deciding to have a fuck all attitude, Zack had invited her over to his place for the night. He did not feel like being out among the public or dealing with anybody else. And the thought of running into whoever it was that she was seeing made his stomach churn. Safety of his home was far better.
A knock on the door was the only signal that he got that she had arrived. Nothing about the fact that she had made her way inside with a simple knock to announce her presence was unusual. Hell, they even had spare keys to each other's places if something were to go wrong or the other needed something. But something about tonight felt just as off as the rest of the week had. He shoved it to the back of his mind for now, wanting to focus on having a pleasant Friday evening with her. There was plenty to drink in his fridge, and by the sounds of it, she had brought even more. She had said that she would be buying so he wasn't all that surprised. Coming out of the office, he found her setting a couple of bottles on the counter and two cases of beer in the fridge.
"Hey, was wondering where you were," she greeted softly with a smile. The one that he always enjoyed seeing. It softened her face a bit, brightened her eyes.
"Sorry, was just finished up some things needed for work."
"They got you pulling mandated overtime again?"
"Nah, that was all last week." She scoffed, and he couldn’t help but smile. Always worried about him and the work that he did. It seemed that wouldn't change.
"Got your favorite, figuring that I owed at least that much." He shook his head and leaned against the counter as she finished up in the refrigerator.
"It's really no big deal, you know that."
"See, that's how I know you are wrong." There was a pause between them, but it didn't feel awkward like Zach half expected it to after last week. Instead, the silence that stretched between them held the same level of comfort that it always did. There was not always a constant need to fill that stretch of time with sound. A rare occurrence that he found. Most people seemed to always feel the need to ruin a quiet moment. She never had, contented to move through time on the same level that he did. "You know I wouldn't have canceled unless it was something important."
"I know. And you know that you don't need to go apologizing. Really, it is okay. You're here now, and that is what matters, right? So, why don't we crack open one of these bottles and get started while waiting for the rest of that to cool down?" He reached for one of the bottles of whiskey. Seemed like a good place to start as any. She held up her hands in a gesture of surrender before moving to grab them both some glasses as he opened the bottle and reached for his phone to order some pizza. If the plan was to drink even half of what she had brought, they would need some food. Thank God he didn't have to go to work tomorrow. It wasn't as easy to pull off this shit as it had been even just a few years ago. Not that they always drank heavily, but it looked like the night's aim would be to make up for the missing day last week.
That observation hadn't been all that far off. A bottle down along with a couple of cans of beer and Zach was feeling the pleasant haze of being drunk beyond a shadow of a doubt. Relaxed on the couch beside his friend, thoughts were anything but platonic. She was nearly plastered into his side, laughing as they talked about some of the ridiculous things that they had done when they were younger.
"You remember when we were out for my twenty-first, and that asshole at the bar wouldn't leave me alone?" Zach chuckled and shifted an arm around her, keeping her close to this side, even if the action was unnecessary. There was nothing strange about cuddling. Nope.
"Man would not take anything for any answer. Still swear I shoulda knocked the shit out of him."
"Yeah, but that would have gotten us kicked out. Instead…" He shook his head a little and squeezed her shoulders.
"Instead, I pretended to be your boyfriend. We didn't hear the end of it that night." It wouldn't have been a bad thing, but all of their friends had thought it was ridiculous. Why had Zach listened to a single thing that had been said that night? How different things could be.
"It's your fault for just coming up and kissing me without saying a damn thing!" She laughed. While the memory had been amusing, it was also one of those that Zach replayed over and over again in his mind. Especially when he was drinking and alone. He swallowed hard for a moment and glanced down at her. She was snickering and laughing a little too hard at the memory. Now would be an embarrassing time to let any arousal cloud over what little judgment was left. But did it matter?
Captivated. That was what he was as he watched her fondly, all while his fingers moved absently against her arm.
"It shut him right up and right down though, didn't it?" he could lean in and kiss her now. It would be so easy. As the thought became more and more enticing by the second, he had to be content with the way that he she was turning more into him, pressing into his side and wrapping an arm around his waist. Why was it a bad idea? Liquid courage at its finest, though that was not what registered in his brain. All that kept playing on repeat was that previous kiss. It would be so much better now, wouldn't it? They were closer and knew each other so much better than even then. They had been through so much more.
Before he could second guess the action, Zach was leaning in and brushing his lips over hers. The soft little gasp of surprise sent a shiver down his spine and shot the last little bit of control or thought that his brain could muster. A more insistent kiss was pressed to her lips. Much to his utter joy, she was kissing him back, that soft hand coming to rest against his neck. Nothing outside the two of them mattered. Actions were a little sloppy, the effects of the alcohol apparent, though it wasn't anything that he could give two shits about. He had her here, in his arms, kissing her with her returning the affections.
His currently unoccupied hand lifted and gently carded fingers through her hair. Giddiness, like he was a teenager all over again, forced everything else into the deep recesses of his mind. Finally. After all this time, it was finally happening. For a mere second, there was a break, both gathering their breath. Not a word was uttered. It wasn't needed. Then, she was pressing into his with far more enthusiasm, practically crawling her way into his lap and Zach had to quickly adjust, though it ended with him on his back, waist straddled and his hands against her hips. A position that he would not complain about. Ever. It could have been hours or minutes, but Zach wasn't able to tell. There wasn't any desire to pull back or shift her from his lap. Though eventually, oxygen was needed. The two were silent, looking at one another, soft smiles shared without having to say anything. Fingers gently ran over her cheek, the moment seared into his brain. He felt sleepy, warm, and comfortable. She settled down against his chest, sprawled out over him, allowing him to wrap an arm properly around her waist.
The next thing that registered was the painful bright light that came streaming through the window. With a pained wince, it took effort to manage to open his eyes. There was a warmth atop him. What had happened? Glancing down, he was greeted with the sight of air. Oh, that was right. They must have fallen asleep after drinking and…shit. They had been making out. In the light of day and with a sober mind, he realized that perhaps neither of them had made good decisions last night. Or maybe it was the best decision that he had ever made. Things were yet to be seen. He would have to wait for her to wake up to make that determination. For now, he was going to enjoy the few moments that he was gifted.
A small groan told him that she was waking up. A part of him wanted the moment to last just a little longer, selfishly enjoy something that would likely be ripped away from him in mere seconds. But there wasn't anything to do as she shifted. He could feel her lift a hand, rubbing her face.
"Morning," he murmured gently, not wanting to startle her. There was a dull throb in the back of his head, a sure sign of the hangover that would be plaguing them both as soon as they actually started to move around. There was a small grunt given in response, and he had to do his best not to laugh. It would have been a little too painful right then. She just seemed to nuzzle closer instead of pulling away. Not what he expected, but maybe she hadn't quite come out of whatever dreamland that she had been living in. While it wasn't common, it wasn't exactly unheard of that they ended up cuddled on the couch or passed out and waking up like this. He just figured it wouldn't be the case when she had whatever it was that was developing with whatever his name was.
"Shit…" She managed to slowly pick her head up before realizing what position they found themselves in. Another second, and she was picking herself up off of him. Zach immediately missed the heat. "How much did we drink last night?" His heart sunk a little when that was the first thing that she asked. Did he say anything? Would it be smart?
"Probably too damn much," he offered with a slightly pained chuckle. Zach ran a hand over his face and forced himself to sit up, where, as expected, the throbbing in his head immediately worsened. "If you feel anything like I do, I have a feeling that you'll agree."
"Yeah, okay. We overdid it." He didn't watch as she moved towards the kitchen, listening to the steps that wandered off. Perhaps she was ignoring the elephant in the room. Perhaps it was a simple case of her not remembering. Zach wasn't sure which he would prefer it to be, which might hurt a little less. Pushing the thoughts to the back of his mind in favor of heading to the bathroom, Zach could worry about it later. Things were normal otherwise this morning so why bother messing with the status quo.
*****************
She never mentioned what happened, and after a week where things weren't awkward, he figured that she simply didn't remember what had happened. He did, and it was just making things a little more difficult for him. Sure, it happened when they were both drunk, but Zach really wanted to believe that even with alcohol, she wouldn't have done anything that she didn't want to do. But, like the good friend that he was, he didn't say anything since her relationship seemed to be progressing instead of ending like things had over the last few years. She was happy, so he had to suck it up.
A few weeks went by, and everything seemed typical. Work was work, life went by, and Friday nights continued to be a source of enjoyment. He had gone on a few dates, though nothing really stuck. Everyone ended up compared to her and always fell short. Not that the reasoning was ever fully explained to her when they got together. That would ruin the whole thing that he was trying to do.
It was when a Friday night was skipped without warning that Zach began to feel a little uneasy. At first, he thought it was something that he had done. Maybe she had remembered and had decided that it was something that she couldn't handle anymore. A spiraling thought pattern that he was able to recognize. Zach had to give the benefit of the doubt, calling her to check in and see if she needed anything the next morning. That uneasy feeling grew, though, when she had said that she had forgotten to let him know that she hadn't been able to make it. Her voice sounded off. Off in a way that he couldn't place but enough to make that pit in his gut grow. The sort of off that he heard at work at times, when someone was worried or trying to hide something.
That worry grew into an all out concern when she started to not return texts and when more get togethers were missed without any sort of warning or explanation. All the way, this guy was still in her life. Concern remained present but began to share space with suspicion. Zach was simply a security guard at Smith Grove. It wasn't like he had a lot of reach or ability to look into things. But he was owed a few favors with some people who did have those abilities. Now was the time to call them in. He needed some background information on this guy that was becoming a major part of his friend's life. One that he had yet to meet, one that there was always an excuse so he couldn't. Red flags slowly began popping up left and right but until he had information and some concrete evidence.
****************
Poignantly, information came to him on a Friday night. Another night that was meant for them to spend together, and there had been nothing but radio silence. While suspicions weren't entirely confirmed, Zach didn't like the information that had been given to him. The guy had a record, and there were some things on there that were enough that it wouldn't take a leap to putting hands on someone.
He had to see her and had to check on her after not seeing her for nearly three weeks. It was the longest time that they had gone without seeing one another for almost ten years. Armed with the knowledge that there could be a potential problem when he showed up, he was prepared for all possible outcomes. Arriving at her home, the first thing that he did was try to see if the lights were on. Some sort of sign that she was there. Check. There was a soft glow coming through the curtains. Someone was home. Now, the question was if he used the key or knocked on the door. The key would give him the element of surprise, but if his concerns were correct, that sort of action could make things way worse for her. Knock on the door it was.
He waited patiently, glancing around for a moment as there was nothing but silence on the other side of the door. Another car sat in the driveway, one that he wasn't familiar with but assumed it belonged to the boyfriend. Seconds passed, which turned into two minutes before the door finally cracked open. Zach had been about ready to go for the spare key before he could see her face around the crack in the door. His stomach dropped to his feet as she seemed panicked. Not outwardly, but he could see it in her eyes. The way that they were darting back and forth, fingers fidgeting at the door. Something was very wrong.
"Hey, sweetheart. Hadn't heard from you in a bit and wanted to check in. Was worried about you." She still hadn't fully opened the door, something that hadn't escaped his notice. "Think I can come in?" Under any other circumstances, Zach would have respected whatever answer that she gave but tonight? He wasn't going to take no for an answer.
"Now really isn't a good time, Zach." The words shook, causing him to square his shoulders. Resolve washed through him, reminding him why he was where and why he was doing this.
"I'm gonna say it again. I'm worried about you." He tried to get the point across without saying it outright, but at this rate, it looked like she was going to make him. The sounds of heavy footsteps caught his attention. Whoever was in the house with her was coming to the door.
"Zach, please. Now isn't a good time." It was almost a plea. Enough so that it caused him to press his hand to the door, applying some pressure to be able to get her to open it more. A brief struggle before his willpower was the one that won out.
"I don't care what you think, I'm not leaving you like this. Not when I know something is wrong." Maybe he should have given it a little more thought, but his overriding concern was your safety. And right now? She was not safe. He could hear the angry words that were coming from the hallway right before the man appeared. All before his brain could register the bruise that was forming on the side of her face.
"What the hell is this?" Zach's eyes finally locked on the man that had been causing so many issues and found exactly what he expected. A larger than average frame, both height and weight and a look that screamed rage. Experience told him that this was going to turn into a fight rather quickly. Squaring his shoulders a bit, he was already trying to assess which would be the safest way to get her out of the line of fire and what at hand weapons were closest to grab. None of the options were particularly good, but what was he supposed to do? He was in the thick of it now. There wasn't any turning back.
"I think it's about time for you to leave." The asshole had the audacity to laugh. As much as he wanted to react harshly and immediately, Zach knew that he couldn't. He had to be the one with the level head, thinking clearly would be the thing that got them both out of this safely. It was the same as if he was handling a patient at work. The only difference? He wasn't armed with a loaded shotgun, permission to shoot if things were getting out of hand. So, the next best thing had to be done. Though, it wasn't entirely clear besides getting her out of harm's way what that thing was.
"And just who the hell do you think you are? No one. She's the one who owns this place and decides who comes and goes. And she doesn't want me going anywhere, do you, sweetheart?" Zach didn't miss the way that she seemed to cringe at the pet name, something that she had never done when he used it. It was just another sure sign that his gut feeling had been right.
"See, I know she is entirely capable of making her own decisions, but do you? Because it seems to me that she isn't overly fond of your presence."
"Fuck off and get out of the house." It was Zach's turn to make an amused sound.
"I'm not letting you hurt her anymore. So, either you get out of this house or I call the cops. And I'm not sure that you can really afford another hit on your record right now, can you?"
"Is that a fucking threat?"
"Take it as you want." The man closed down the distance, and Zach tensed, prepared to take a swing or move out of the way as quickly as possible. A good thing too as the punch came without any warning, the arm barely cocking back before flying at his face. While he attempted to dodge, he wasn't able to get out of the way of the full blow, getting clipped on the jaw. Shit, that was a hell of a punch. Probably a good thing he had not taken it full on, otherwise he might have been unconscious on the floor. With the first punch thrown, he quickly moved to put some distance between them while reaching out to grab the closest item that could be used as a makeshift weapon. "Guess that racks up assault." Maybe he shouldn't be taunting the man but he couldn't help himself.
"Danny, stop!" She had reached out to grab Danny, and Zach had to grit his teeth as the man shook her off, sending her into the wall. Just what he had been trying to avoid.
"All right, asshole. This ends now. I'm not letting you hurt her again." Instead of responding, Danny simply took a few more swings. Noot the easiest to dodge but he managed for the most part. There was one blow to his side that had the air knocked out of his lungs entirely, causing him to swing in reaction. It caught Danny on the side of his face, though given that it was an umbrella, it didn't do all that much damage. Enough to make him back off a few steps though, and it opened a cut along his cheek. The opening was enough for Zach to duck by the hulking frame. Taking a whack at Danny's legs from behind, he reached for the phone to call 911. Just two seconds were needed to make the call and get the police here.
*****
The last thing that he wanted to do was deal with paramedics or the hospital. So, as soon as Zach was able to sign the consent form, he did so. Thankfully, it didn't seem like she needed to go. The blow to the head hadn't been recent, so there was no concern for any concussion. There was still a possibility, but the chances were far lower.
Danny was hauled off to sit the night in a cell at the very least. A problem for another time at this point. Zach wanted to focus on getting her back in the house and settled for the night. Actually relax and not have to worry about anything at all.
Ushering her back into the house, the first thing that he did was make sure to remove any trace of Danny. The man had certainly made a mess of a few things. Zach knew that she wouldn't have ever stood for the beer cans laying around or the few articles of clothing that were tossed over furniture. That kept him busy and kept him moving. Preoccupied, really. That worked for a distraction while the silence between them stretched on. She hadn't said much, and it was driving him crazy. Anything would have been taken at that moment. Anger, happiness, anything. But there was nothing. He finally had to break it just to know what was going on in her head.
"Are you going to say anything?" It probably wasn't the right thing to say exactly, but it was what came to mind. A knee-jerk sort of response.
"What do you want me to say?" Her voice was soft, barely audible, but he managed to catch it. Shoulders fell, and he let out a small sigh before moving over to her.
"Anything, sweetheart. Anything at all." There was a hesitation to reach out to her like he wanted to, a nagging doubt in the back of his mind that had never been present during their entire friendship. He hated it. "Just...talk to me? Please?" If he hadn't been that close, he wouldn't have heard the sigh that slipped. Her eyes were focused down on the floor, not raising to look at him.
"I don't know what to say, Zach. I mean, you saw what happened, what he was like." She swallowed hard but didn't break. Not yet. "It's a lot to have to process, and I don't even know where to start." That was understandable and couldn't be argued. Getting over the doubt, he reached out and rested a hand against her shoulder, giving a small squeeze.
"You know that I'm here for whatever you need. I'm sorry about having to force my way in here before. It's not what I wanted to do, but I was worried about you."
"I know, thank you." After a second, she leaned forward and wrapped her arms around him. Zach immediately returned the hug, holding her close and tightly.
"I'm sorry."
"You don't have anything to be sorry for, Zach. He would still be here." Her body went slack against him further, her head resting against his shoulder, face practically in the crook of his neck.
"You deserve so much more than that, sweetheart." This was not the time that he needed to be doing this, but the words were beginning to flow without thought. He couldn't stop it now that it had started. "Someone who knows just how special you are and can appreciate everything about you." She sniffled, and his heart skipped a beat. He hadn't intended to have her cry.  She didn't say anything right away either, making him a little worried that he had indeed said the wrong thing. A little more sniffling as he held his breath, all before she was finally speaking.
"I know that, at least logically. It didn't start out like this."
"It never does. None of that is your fault. You know that, right?" He needed to hear that she knew that. She would be carrying around enough as it was. She didn't need the extra burden.
"I know that. I'm just upset that I let it get this far to begin with. I should have kicked his ass out weeks ago." He could feel the shudder that ran through her and, in response, tightened his arms around her frame. Reassurance was only going to do so much. Thankfully, she was calming down. Zach felt grateful for that, at the very least. It was something. A few more moments passed by before she sighed and pulled back a little bit. "I don't know what I would do without you, Zach." Words that he appreciated and liked hearing, but they were not exactly what he was holding out hope for. He was jumping ahead of himself right now. After what had just happened, it was the last thing that should be on his mind.
"You know that I'm here for whatever you need. Anytime." The words were easier since they were genuine. He would do anything for her. Maybe one day, she would truly see that.

                              [~*~]
Roman cleaned his hands on his jeans before stretching his back and sighing in relief when a small ‘pop’ came from it. The pal from the nearby library was a cool person – not that he would ever allow the other to hear this, because, damn, people who called Roman cocky definitely haven’t met them yet – but equally precise in get on his nerves with as few words as possible, even though the florist didn’t care that much as his dramatics discourses tried to convince everyone he did.
Besides that, they was Patton’s friend and even more important, they made an accord with the Flower Shop’s owner and Roman was the one in charge to deliver their biweekly floral arrangement to the library’s decór. However, today Roman managed to win their discussion and therefore a couple of podcast episodes read by them (What? Their voice was quite nice!!).
Roman ignored the small ring of the door’s bell as he entered the Flower Shop, looking around to be sure there was no clients before taking his position behind the balcony, internally thanking how chill Patton was with his employees using phone during the shift as long there wasn’t no one near, especially as he unlocked his screen and a new notification popped in front of him.
Butterflies went immediately crazy on his stomach.
[Message from Panic! At Everywhere]
[P: Hey. So, are you still ok?]
Virgil kicked his blanket out of his bed, already feeling a tad of giddiness spread across his body, a small smirk finding its way to his face without him even realizing. Today was the day. Since when he and Roman talked on the last week about boundaries to be sure nothing had changed and decided Saturday as a good day for their session the one with purple hair couldn’t help but let his thoughts wander, picturing and re-picturing what would happen, even though Roman always insisted to never tell him his plans, wanting to keep everything as a surprise, which definitely didn’t help at all the excitement running on his veins.
Their session.
Their tickle session. It was only eleven in the morning and Virgil could already feel his skin tingle just by imagine Roman’s fingers grazing, dancing on it, carefully looking for all his weak spots both knew so well before coming with an entire new technique that would make the other (almost, barely, hardly) want to jump out of his skin so he could escape from the maddening tickly sensation.
He was going to love it.
Also, it didn’t help that he spent the previous night and its following morning consuming all his favorite tickle content, dying on the spot (and on the reblogs) and skyrocketing his lee mood to the mountains.
Nevertheless, he tried to play nonchalant as answered the other’s new message.
[Message from Dumb(o)]
[D: Yes.]
[P: Cool.]
[D: You?]
[P: Yep.]
[D: Glad to know, Blushy Bug. Try to not alarm all of our neighborhood with your squeals and giggles before I get there, okay? ~
D: And yeah, plu-e-ase, continue with your so delightful tags on your reblogs, okay, Tickle me Emo? I’m learning so much new information with that. If only I would have an opportunity to use all of them today…]
Virgil snorted, one hand trying to hide his face as he attempted with all his might to ignore the flames taking over his cheeks as the teases sank and the memories from the day he conquered this nickname emerged from the deeps of his mind. So, Princey was already so over his head with being the ler this time? Thinking Virgil would be hiding his face on the pillow, squeaking and tittering helpless? Well, he would have a big storm coming, then.
Virgil got up, his footsteps leading him to the clean desk in the room, moving some of the objects so carefully chosen in order to get the perfect picture. Every single makeup  brush lined, gleaming under the lens of his camera, away enough so the viewer would be able to realize all their individualities but close enough to create an impact.
Two can play this game.
[Panic! At Everywhere sent an image]
Roman clicked on it, eyes going immediately wide as he quickly slammed the cellphone’s screen on his red apron, his gaze running from a place to another to be sure no one was near or had seen the conversation or noticed the way his smile went from an ear to another.
[P: Nah. I’m too occupied choosing the perfect tools for today… I mean, there are just so many options, ya know? I especially prefer the smallest ones, their bristles softly running on my ribs, tracing their way across my tummy to get to the other side… yeah. That is the good stuff. Or maybe we could be experimenting the biggest ones today, letting them tease that spot right under my chin, the softness engulfing all the nerves… ]
Roman took a deep breath, realizing the other still typing.
[P: Anyway, don’t make a big deal of this, ‘kay? I know your imagination can be very fertile but try to not alert Patton with all your blush and twitching. You know he is a curious guy and will want to know why you’re so smiley. ;)]
“Pai amado, (Dear God) he is going to kill me.” Roman crossed his arms, using all his will to no start wiggling them to nothing, a sudden urge to sing some nursery rhymes making him begin to humming quietly as attempted to gather enough concentration to type a proper, cool reply.
[D: Is that so? So, the big, badass Virgil Storm is excited to get all his tickly-tickle-tickles today? Is he excited to become a so helpless, so adorable mess of giggles and squeaks? To be teased and tickled until he can do nothing but give me those lovely snorts and wiggly-wiggles? ~
Awww. So cute. ~]
[P: Yeah, I am. So what? Wanna do something about that, Sir Sing a Lot?
Ops, I forgot you’re at work rn. Tsc. Such a pity. Well, guess I will have to kill some time by looking at your precious collection of feathers, see if I find something interesting there.]
[D: You just wait for when I get home.]
[P: :)]
Virgil laid his phone at his side, hiding his face on the mattress, kicking just like he was some teenager in love from those generic movies. The squeals bubbled out from his lips, smiles blooming. He knew he probably was just digging his own grave, but, ha, as if he would fall without a fight. Plus, imagining Roman trying at every cost to keep a straight expression while reading his texts and then struggling to continue his work just as if nothing had happened, with that cute, excited smile planted on his face made a proud wave of power – and joy - hit him and that was a bonus which was worth it.
Then his phone vibrated, indicating a new notification and a new flood of shivers as he unlocked his screen, freezing for a couple of heartbeats with the length of the message.
[D: A poem for my dear Knightmare. ~
Once upon a time
There was a wiggley-wiggly lee
That just a few pokes
Made him giggle with glee
Some scribbles here
Some scratches there
You can tickle-tickle
He is ticklish everywhere!
What, you don’t believe me?
‘That much cute he can’t be!’
Well, then allow me to demonstrate
All the beautiful sounds he can create!
Give a few prodding on his ribs
And a quick digging on his hips
Some brushes on his toesies and feet
And don’t forget about these helpless pits!
(And hey, psst, if you squeeze his sides
The cutie, squeaky, wiggly lee,
Will be squealing in a happy delight)
This neck is also asking for tickly-kisses
He always denies, always desire
Add to that some teasy whispers
And watch his cheeks be set on fire!
Once upon a time
There was a bratty, smug lee
That just a few tickle teases
Can make him a blushy mess
Just like now, you see!]
[…]
“Have a nice day. Thank you for coming!”
Roman waved to the client who got out from the Flower Shop, taming the smugness which threatened to take over his features as he realized that even though an hour had passed, no answer to his last text had arrived yet. He was perfectly aware of how weak Virgil was for any sort of rhymed tease and a whole poem – not his best, he had to admit – dedicated to him? He could almost see the other shrieking, hiding his red face on the pillow, lost in a mess of quiet peals of laughter and curses. His smile got even bigger, swelled in pride. And, well, if he couldn’t help it but push his luck a few inches further, his fingers already halfway to typing a small, itsy bitsy, new tease to his favorite emo lee, how could someone really blame him?
[D: Oh, sorry. Did I make the scary Virgil too much flustered to talk? Awww, I will miss your sassy remarks deeply and sing a ballad in your honor at the funeral. ~]
He snorted at the amount of time the symbol of ‘typing’ appeared and disappeared on the conversation, using the ten minutes he took to be answered to organize a few sales signs on the glass in front of the store, gaining a dance on his step as the one-worded sentence shone on his phone.
[P: Bitch.]
[D: I have no idea of what you’re talking about. Is that something I said? I feel wounded.]
But a new thing popped up.
[Panic! At Everywhere sent a video]
[P: :)]
It seemed like hours passed, even if he knew the downloading probably didn’t really take more than a few pieces of minute for him to hit the play.
The focus of the camera took a few seconds to adjust, the image trembling and shaking before going still, the crystal clear form of a small light brown, slightly spiked feather twirling between Virgil’s index and thumb locking his eyes on the screen. A quick, quiet sigh could be heard before the tickle tool descended to the palm extended on a desk, stopping by Virgil’s pulse.
The bristles grazed the skin there as the feather began to move on slow strokes, going from the left to the right, left and right, left and right… calmly making its way up, changing to small swirls as it contorted the form of the hand, giving to each finger a light tracing before concentrating on the palm, drawing a spiral which approximated inch by inch to the center. If Roman wasn’t so quiet, - even holding his breath, - maybe he wouldn’t be able to listen the incredibly low, contained huffs of laughter on the background, a soft snort escaping and making both hands tremble as the bristles hit the center of his hand, dancing around the spot for a bit.
When it stopped, the tool was placed on the desk and then the camera started to move, stopping on Roman’s so very well-known golden with silver details box. Its lid laid next to it, letting its entire content to be proudly shown. The explosion of colors from the most diverse large, small, pointy, fluffy feathers took over the frame, however, a tiny piece of paper placed on the exact center of them was what captured his attention. The lens zoomed and focused, making him able to read the quick message written there.
“:)”
And then the screen went black. The video was over.
Roman could feel his face being almost split in half by his grin, his fingers hitting the table top in complete frenzy since they hadn’t to hold the device anymore, curling and uncurling as the one who couldn’t just stay still started to bounce his right leg, ignoring the redness he felt crippling down his neck.
“Roman?”
He fully shrieked. Both him and Patton startled and jumped a few centimeters in the air with the sudden sound. The florist slapping his own hand on his mouth, trying with all his inner strength to stop the bubbly giggles which flooded non stop from his lips
“Sorry for the scare, kiddo,” the shine on his eyes free of any guilt as Patton bit his own knuckles proved the contrary, especially when the rest of an awed squeal escaped from his lips, only making the other to giggle harder, eyes closed, blush deepening and nose scrunched. “Aww, your giggles are so cute!”
“Shuhuhush!!” The Flower Shop owner just smiled fondly, withholding his comments and patiently waiting for the other to recompose himself. When Roman looked at least a tad calmer he decided to make his decision to talk to him clear.
“I’m glad you’re in a good mood, Ro! I just wanted to remember today’s shift is already over. I need a bit of time to organize everything before the painter comes so we can discuss the new design of the Flower Shop. Thank you so much for the ideas, by the way! I can’t wait for you all to see the result! It will be so pretty!!” Roman’s wide eyes were enough of an explanation of why he wasn’t ready to go yet, probably having forgotten about their last month conversation. Although, the surprised look was away in an instant, a shine taking over his glare before he softened, locking his eyes with Patton.
“Of course, it will be, Patty-cake! With my magnificent ideas and your good taste, I really don’t think any other result besides wonderful and perfection will be possible!” He squeezed Patton’s cheeks and his friend stuck out his tongue at him, winning a quick poke on his ribs that made him squirms and yelp, quickly tittering and waving the other with his hands.
“Now shoo-shoo, go enjoy your afternoon!”
A devious smirk gleamed on Roman’s expression for a second. “You can count on it, Padre.” But then it was gone as quickly as it appeared. “Thank you, my mighty hero in a shiny armor! May the universe let our destiny align again in the future.”
“See ya, kiddo!” He replied, his tune also full of joy, watching the one with red hair going away, a happy bounce on his steps.
[…]
Virgil picked the phone in the first ring. “Roman, something happened?”
“Nope,” the purple lover sighed in relief, all the tension getting out of his body and being replaced by confusion, “nothing happened except that a handsome, incredible someone got out from his work earlier than expected and might be heading his home by now.”
That made Virgil shot up, biting his lower lip, butterflies freaking out. “No.” It was his whisper.
“Oh, yes. ~” Roman practically purred on the speaker. “any last words, my dear, defenseless Giggly Storm?”
Virgil just giggled and Roman had almost forgotten how that sound only was enough to spread an explosion of a warm, good feeling on his chest. “Aw, and here I was thinking I would have at least some challenge today. ~” He continued to tease.
Silence.
“Go check your messages, Princeypie.”
And then he hung up. Roman fondly rolled his eyes, running to check the new notification on their conversation.
[Panic! At Everywhere sent a photo]
It was Virgil, sitting on his bed criss crossed, one elbow resting on his thigh as he took the picture on the body mirror on the other side of the room, a strong blush very visible on his face half hidden by the device, wearing a short and Roman’s red crop top. A new message popped right under the photo.
[P: Get your butt here and tickle me, Sir Sing a Lot.’]
This emo was going to be the death of him.
[D: Aww, I don’t even get a smile?]
[P: You gotta work for those, Princey.]
Virgil definitely did not jump nor yelp as he heard the low, dangerous tune of an “evil” laughter echoes in the house coming from the living room, the sound of the front door being closed making his flight instincts kick in.
“Oh, don’t worry.” Virgil was already halfway to the most far away room where he could escape, trying to keep his reputation as he heard another set of footsteps quickly getting ground and following right behind him. Laughter and squeaks mixed in the air.
“Because I will.” Roman answered.

Note
either 9 or 13 for the 'good parts' prompt, for whoever you like! (I couldn't choose - they're all so good...)
I said that I would answer this one eventually!! Though, I'll admit when I said it, I wasn't expecting it to be half a year later. Sorry for the wait!
I went with "We’re hiding from the authorities and it’s very close quarters in here, I can feel your body against mine." for Merrill/Isabela for this one. Thank you for prompting me!
(I'm going to be a bit cheeky and tag @dadrunkwriting because I really tried to finish it last night. I just couldn't stay up late enough. And it's not quite Saturday morning everywhere yet, right?)
.
A hand comes out of nowhere; a warm rough palm pressed against Merrill’s and then she’s being quite suddenly pulled off-course. It’s startling but she doesn’t quite have time to be too thoroughly alarmed before it all starts to feel much more familiar. Aside from the being pressed against a stone wall in some dirty alleyway that is. But there’s a body that’s doing the pressing, warm and soft against Merrill’s and while that bit—the pressing bit—might not be familiar, the sea-salt and sweat scent of the skin pressed up against her and the smile that, once Merrill looks up, is all she can see are far more so.
“Isabela! What are you doing back here?”
She’d probably have a better job looking for herself if it weren’t for her friend’s sudden proximity. She looks up into golden brown eyes that glisten with mischief and Merrill might not know what’s going on but the sight makes her feel so strange and warm inside.
“Hiding, Kitten,” says Isabela.
"Oh.” Merrill supposes that makes sense. “Who from?”
Isabela has one arm braced against the wall next to Merrill’s head. It’s not doing much to lessen the feeling of Isabela crowding all of her senses but Merrill doesn’t mind much. Not with her.
“This place is crawling with guards,” Isabela explains.
“Oh, right. I suppose they do come here a lot but that’s not so unusual, is it? Is there some reason I shouldn’t let them see me?”
Isabela is still smiling at her and though the surprise has long worn off, Merrill still feels her heart beating so fast and hard the sound of it echoes in her ears. “I’m sure you’ve been good as gold. But you know me, Kitten, I’m always in trouble.”
Merrill thinks about that for a moment. “So then, you’re hiding and I’m... helping?”
“Oh, definitely.” Isabela’s smile widens and her eyes shine in a way that makes Merrill think she might be the most beautiful woman in the world. Well. She’s probably always thinks that about Isabela. Not just the most beautiful but the most interesting and the kindest (but in a way that she’ll never agree to even though Merrill’s seen it over and over again). She makes Merrill think of comfort but also adventure and it’s all terribly exciting. She doesn’t really see what help she could be with that but just the fact that it’s her Isabela has chosen to pull aside and keep her company while she keeps out of the sight of the guards roaming nearby makes her feel like more than she’s ever been before. She doesn’t really know what to do with the feeling.
“What should I do?” she asks because she thinks she’d like to be helpful.
“You’re doing just fine as you are.” Isabela grins and Merrill feels so warm she thinks she might melt. “I don’t think the coast is clear just yet.”
They wait and it's actually a little bit awkward just standing here. Merrill’s not sure she's really doing all that much to help, trapped against the wall like this. “Perhaps we could play a game to pass the time,” she suggests.
Isabela laughs. It's the kind of sound that makes it hard to think when she asks, “What did you have in mind?”
“Oh... I’m not sure...”
She does know a few games. The sort to pass the time with the children while the clan is on the move. She's not sure how well they'd work for now. And it doesn’t matter anyway because there’s a shout from somewhere nearby that must mean they’ve been caught because suddenly Merrill’s being pulled along again through the narrow Lowtown streets.
Merrill had only come out to get a bit of shopping, now she’s dodging the very market stalls she’d come to peruse while running hand in hand with a beautiful pirate. And the strange thing is she can’t say she minds. Isabela could ask her to do anything and Merrill would probably agree to it. Isabela just has that effect on her.
She wonders if Isabela knows it. But only for a moment before she’s distracted by the sight of another guard in the direction they’re running and Isabela’s about to pull them off in another direction when Merrill realises where they are and has a better idea. “This way,” she says, pulling Isabela with her as she heads the opposite way.
“No, no! That’s a dead end!” Isabela hisses.
“It’s not! I promise. Let me show you,” Merrill insists.
She takes her through an archway at the back of an otherwise empty square into a small Lowtown hovel. At the back, beneath a rickety dust covered table there’s a small hatch in the wall. Merrill drops to her knees and pushes it open.
“Where in Thedas are you taking me, sweet thing?” she hears Isabela’s exasperated muttering from behind her. But at least she’s following. At least she trusts Merrill rather than assuming she doesn’t know what she’s talking about like so many do.
The passageway is a short one. After a few seconds crawling it opens up enough to stand. And if she turns... Yes, it still there: a ladder leading up to the secret spot she’d remembered was near here. Grabbing the rung closest to eyelevel, Merrill begins to climb.
It’s a bit dusty at the top, but there’s a gap in the stone wall that serves as a window so at least they can breathe.
“They’ll never find us here,” she grins, as Isabela’s head pops up over the top rung of the ladder. She plants a hand on the dusty ground and heaves herself up the rest of the way before surveying where they’ve ended up. She peers through the window onto the street below then back at Merrill.
“I suppose they won’t. How did you find this place?”
“That’s one thing getting lost so often is useful for. You find all sorts of secrets. There’s another way out just over there,” she points to another hatch just past the ladder lead them up through. “It leads into a completely different hex so we can go that way or just wait until they leave.”
Below, the guards are milling about but they seem to have determined that there’s no one about and are returning their search to elsewhere.
“Hmm... You are a clever one, Kitten. Let me just catch my breath for a bit.”
They do that, leaning back side by side against the wall beneath the window. It’s not quite as close quarters as the alleyway Isabela had pinned her in earlier. Well, the alley was probably more open but there’s a slightly disappointing lack of pinning here. That’s a shame.
Merrill sneaks a glance at Isabela but she’s not paying attention, having been distracted by a small wooden crate beside her. She rummages inside and pulls out a bottle full of dark liquid, which she uncorks and sniffs. “Oh you do find all the good places,” she smirks before taking a swig and passing it to Merrill.
She gives the contents of the mystery bottle a sniff. It’s some sort of alcohol. Strong and spicy. If it’s good enough for Isabela, she thinks... she takes a swig and tries not to pull a face as the alcohol burns in her mouth but she mustn’t manage it because Isabela laughs beside her. “Definitely not the best I’ve tried but it’ll do in a pinch.” She takes the bottle back from Merrill and takes another swig before putting it aside.
Creators, that stuff was strong. Merrill can already feel her head getting a bit floaty and strange after only one mouthful.
“Are you still up for that game?” says Isabela, after a moment, surprising her. Merrill looks around to see her wearing that smirk again and can’t tell if she’s joking.
“Oh... um. Maybe? Unless... you’d rather do something else...” To be honest, Merrill already has a certain something in mind but she’s really not sure how to go about beginning.
“Like what?” Isabela looks at her knowingly. But she can’t know... can she?
Or, perhaps she can. She always was better at this sort of thing than her.
It might just be because of the strange warm buzz she feels from whatever she just drank—rum, she thinks—but she has the sudden feeling that it can’t very well hurt to try.
“I... ah... You’re very beautiful, you know.” Oh, Creators she’s bad at this.
Isabela looks at her with a half-smile lingering on her lips. “Kitten, are you trying to come on to me?”
Merrill feels her face burn. “Perhaps. Am I doing it right?”
Isabela laughs. “It’s far from the worst attempt I’ve ever seen. But then I might not be in the best position to judge.”
“Oh? Why’s that?”
“Because it’s you, Kitten...” Isabela hesitates, then admits, “I might have a bit of a soft spot for you.”
Merrill’s just staring at the wall across from them now. She wants to look at Isabela but it’s difficult when she feels aware of every part of her body. She just feels like a big awkward lump but with all these limbs that don’t quite know what they’re doing. Was it always so difficult to think about what she should do with her hands?
“You’re thinking so hard I can almost hear it,” says Isabela. And then her hands are encased in one of Isabela’s and Merrill feels that same warmth rush through her that she always feels when Isabela is nearby. She turns her head and her eyes meet dazzling brown ones.
“I can’t help it,” she says. “My head always feels like this when I’m around you. Like my thoughts have just jumped out of my head and started running around like little mice across the floor and I’m just scrambling to pick them all up... Wait, that sounded strange, didn’t it?” Isabela is laughing at her now. She sighs. “I liked it better the way we’re were before. I didn’t have to think then. I couldn’t with you pressed up against me like that.”
“Like what, Kitten?” Isabela always calls her that but she’s the one that sounds like she’s purring and it’s really not fair.
She frowns at the wall. “You know.”
“Hmm maybe you should demonstrate.”
Merrill frowns at her a moment longer before she gets it, then she blushes furiously. She turns and looks and Isabela just stares back at her like it’s a dare. She takes another swig from the bottle and holds it out to her again.
Maybe it’s the high from escaping the guards, or the buzzy feeling of the rum in her head or just the close quarters they’re in, where she can smell Isabela’s skin from here and it’s enough to remember how she’d felt pressed close against that wall... but Merrill feels suddenly braver than usual. She takes the bottle, takes a drink and the taste is a little better this time around. She places it aside then shuffles closer towards Isabela where she sits with her back against the wall, legs out in front of her and swings a leg over the top of hers.
“It wasn’t quite like this,” Merrill whispers, perhaps feeling a little more shy than she wants to admit. “It’s difficult to get the angle right when were sitting down like this.”
Isabela places her hands on Merrill's hips and Merrill bites backs a little squeak at how intimate it feels. “I like this angle just fine.”
“Oh. That’s good.” Merrill’s heart is pounding now because Isabela’s hands start to move slowly from her hips to her waist and back again and it feels so nice and if she’s doing that and making her feel like this then surely it would be okay to do other things too.
Merrill looks at her with wide eyes and the scent of the sea filling her head. Her gaze dips from the warmest of brown eyes to full red lips stretched into an inviting smile. And Merrill find she’s gone back to that wonderful state where her thoughts aren’t all in a muddle for a change and it seems easy then to just lean in, dip her head and kiss her.
Her lips are as soft as Merrill had always thought they would be and they mostly taste like the rum they've been drinking but Merrill finds she likes the flavour a lot better like this. With that, Isabela's hands tighten at her waist. She kisses back a little harder, holds her close. And it's wonderful. Merrill doesn't have to think about it at all; there are practically no thoughts to be had. Just her and Isabela and the delightful way she feels in her arms.

MY BRIGHTEST STAR🌌🌠
May 14,2020
11:15 pm
There are 45 minutes before my birthday. I got out of bed, holding my phone, because I couldn’t sleep no matter what I did.
I slowly opened the door and tiptoed out of my bed, taking care not to let it creak. Everyone in the house is still sleeping, so I can’t make any noises that would wake them up. Since my throats were dry and I needed to remain hydrated, I went to the kitchen to get a glass of water. After all, I can’t be dehydrated because I’m supposed to be hydrated all the time.
I walked out of the house wearing my oversized T-shirt and night shorts, leaving my glass on the counter. Since there were some torches, the whole subdivision was quiet and dim. The sky was lovely, but the boy who had just entered with his silver bicycle was even more so. I told myself, “Shut up, all boys are gorgeous.”
“Are you ready?” Miguel stated as he brushed his long, silky golden hair back with his lovely fingers. I grinned and walked over to my pink bicycle in the garage. “Where is your gear?”
“Where is your gear?” I questioned as well after noticing that he had not brought his. He squinted and raised one of his thick brows. “Don’t worry, I’ll be fine. Especially because you’re here with me.
His lips curled into an endearing grin, exposing his charming dimples. I got on my bike and pedaled down the road first, hoping he’d be close behind.
The cool night breeze caressed my face and caused my hair to fly, making me happy. I took a left and later realized Miguel was standing right next to me. He hasn’t changed since I first saw him with his hair flying and his aesthetic dark eyes. He is still the boy I loved and admired, still admire, and will still genuinely love.
11:30 pm
“Don’t worry, you’ll be fine.” Just don’t breath—“
“Do you want me to die horribly?” When my eyes accidentally went down, I exclaimed. I screamed and turned away, my eyes closed. Miguel sighed and his hands rested on my shoulders, which helped me relax a little. Only a little bit. I’m in a panic, crap.
“What I mean is, don’t breathe too quickly; instead, breathe slowly. Exhale slowly after taking a deep breath, then repeat. I’m telling you this because I don’t want you to die, okay?” He said calmly, which made me feel bad for screaming at him while he was simply trying to help me from panicking.
I followed his instructions and, to my surprise, it succeeded. When Miguel wrapped his handkerchief around my knee to cover the cut, I slowly opened my eyes and yelped in the quietest way possible. When he kissed it after tying it, I bit my lip and felt my face flush. He got up and extended his hand to me, which I gladly accepted.
“Are you all right now?”
“Thank you very much, Miguel.”   I smiled, and he smiled even more. God, I love that face.
“Oh, if you weren’t so stubborn, you wouldn’t have gotten hurt.” He said it with a little frown on his face, which made me laugh because he’s so sweet when he’s upset.
“If you hadn’t been there, I would have passed out in the middle of the road right now, but I’m still standing and breathing.” As I smiled, his frown vanished, and all he did was shake his head before walking to get his bike.
“You’re stubborn as hell. As he grasped the handlebars of his bike, he uttered. “Instead, let’s go for a stroll.”
“If I’m right, give me 500 pesos.” Your favorite shirt right now is the blackpink t-shirt I gave you.” Miguel muttered something and smirked as he looked at me and the path we were walking on.
“Wrong my favorite shirt is the other black pink t-shirt which I bought last Saturday. “I confidently replied and smirked back at him. Aw, you don’t love me anymore?” he pouted and gave me that cute puppy look. My weakness.
“oh my gosh, stop that. You look like an idiot.” Yes I’m a great liar.
“ugh, darn it.” He huffed and continued walking, which made me chuckled because of his cuteness.
It became quiet after. Enjoying the peaceful and satisfying cold wind with each other’s company was already enough.
I know in my heart that he has a problem but he didn’t want to share it with me and I respect his decision.
“ Has the thought of leaving me ever cross your mind?” I asked out of nowhere to cut the silence while we’re walking down the silent road with our bikes.
“Yep.” I pouted and glared at him immediately when he said but he just laughed. That hurt right into my heart. “ What, if I am be pooping, you wanna watch?”
“Gross, of course not.” I cringed which made him laugh harder. His laugh is annoying but also cute but its pissing me off but I still love it.
“How about you? Ever thought of leaving this handsome boy?” he raised his eyebrows up and down while staring at me, waiting for my answer.
“I don’t wanna promise that I won’t because we never know what will happen in the future but I assure you that no matter what happens, even if the worlds screwed up, we’re screwed up, I will always stay with you.” Miguel stopped walking so I did too and looked at him. He smiled at me before starting to walk again.
His smile didn’t reach his eyes.
11:45 pm
“Don’t go yet.” I whined quietly while softly pulling the sleeve of his hoodie. I know that its late and he might be tired but I wanna be selfish even just for now.
“Alright then, my princess.” Miguel smiled and pulled my hand going inside our house silently. Miguel being Miguel, he didn’t make the slightest noise even in closing closing the door. It was dark but with Miguel’s hand holding mine, I know that I shouldn’t be afraid.
When we reach my bedroom, he gently pushed me inside and slowly pushed the door behind him while his sexy dark eyes were staring into my soul, dominating me. He took little steps going towards me, not cutting eye contact, and as if I’m frozen, I stood still staring back into his beautiful dark grey eyes until I could feel and smell his strawberry scented breath.
“Let’s go stargaze even if I know to myself that gazing at you is better.” He huskily uttered before smiling and pulling my hand to go out the window. He assisted me to climb up the roof carefully before he followed.
He gently guided me to a spot between his legs where I could sit comfortably. As his arms wrapped around me and his big hands devoured my tiny hands, I laid my back on his chest.
Nothing beats sitting on the roof with the guy you want to spend the rest of your life with, gazing at thousands of sparkling stars in the midnight sky, which isn’t quite midnight yet, but let’s call it that anyway.
“Did you know that the sun is a star?” Miguel said as he rested his chin on my left shoulder. Our eyes glued on the sky full of stars above us.
“uh-huh.”
“Personally, I think that stars don’t appear only at night because if it only appears in the darkness, the isn’t it unfair that it doesn’t appear during bright days?” he said in a serious expression which made me laugh a bit.
“That doesn’t make any sense. And the sun is a star because science shit.” I replied which made him laugh as well.
“Yeah I know, I didn’t know what to say so I just wasted my saliva for bullshit.” He said while chuckling because of his darkness. What he said didn’t really make sense but he’s still cute so never mind.
“but let me tell you something, my princess.” He sat properly so I faced him to give all of my attention.
“if all the stars disappears, that doesn’t mean that its over. Darkness is everywhere already. No, don’t forget that the moon is still there, there to light up the darkness. And it lights up the most. So don’t ever think that you’re alone and your life is pure darkness just because the stars disappears.” He smiled for a while before continuing.
“the stars will appear again. But they may not be the same stars from before again.”
11:55 pm
When I got tired of watching the stars above the sky. I faced Miguel.
Miguel had the same dark grey eyes. The same dark grey eyes I used to always stare at since when I was six. He had the same small nose. The same small nose I used to always poke when we were toddlers since it was cute. He had the same chubby and soft cheeks. The same cheeks I used to always squish whenever I’m ecstatic, annoyed, sad, or normal. He had the same sexy pinkish lips. The first same sexy pinkish lips I kissed when I was ten. He had the same long golden hair. The same long golden hair I used to braid or play with when im bored though I always envy his hair since its straight and silky more as hell than mine. And lastly, he had the same effect on me.
Only realizing it now, his face was only an inch away from mine. His deep breaths made me look hotter.
“Advance Happy Birthday, I love you my princess.” Miguel said.
I slowly shut my eyes as tears started forming in my eyes. Seconds have passed and sobs started to come out. I slowly opened my eyes to look at the time.
12:00 AM
May 15, 2021
It was all a dream” I told myself.
Miguel died because of the car accident. If only I hadn’t been selfish and let him go home that night, maybe he’s still with me right now celebrating my birthday.
It’s been exactly a year since my star vanished.
It’s just unfair that among billions of stars out there, he’s the one chosen to be vanished.
I held onto the shirt he gave me a year ago on my birthday while crying hard. It will never not be painful as hell.
His smile, his eyes, his dimples, his long golden hair, my Miguel that I will never get to see anymore.
“Wherever you are right now, I hope you’re happy.” I sobbed while looking above the sky full of stars. “I don’t do promises but I’m doing it now. I promise that I will continue living the nights with different stars. Only for you, baby. I miss you so much.

Friday afternoons were the least busiest time of the week at University. Much of your time was unoccupied, and not wanting to deal with your noisy roommate you headed to the school’s public library. Swiping your school id, the loud audible beep welcomed you in while you looked for the perfect place to sit.
It was a cold bitter afternoon, several tables were already filled with bodies and stacks of books everywhere. You looked around for familiar faces, scanning your eyes around ceiling high book shelves and occupied tables until finding two close classmates that gestured to join them.
“Hey,” they both echoed, as you plopped your bag down on the table gently, finding your own pocket of spread out books and pens and notebooks. You had no real necessity to be here outside of finding time to waste since all your classes had finished for the day, but you were still needing to study something - or rather, someone.
“Hey,” you responded. “You seen her yet?”
“Seen who?” said one of your classmates, ignorant to the situation.
“Nah, she hasn’t shown up yet. She usually comes in late on Fridays though.”
“Got it. Nothing to do but wait around until she does, “ you said, lazily slumping back in the wooden chair.
“Who are you talking about?” your oblivious classmate asked, with a confused face as his curiosity peaked.
“Somi.”
“Who’s Somi?”
“New librarian. She only works on weekends,” you said, swiveling your head around for any sight of her.
“You’ve been missing out. Always wearing those tight skirts, hair in a ponytail like she’s trying to be super sexy. She’s got the biggest tits you’ve ever seen.“
“Sounds hot.”
Right on cue a woman matching that very description entered the picture, carrying a large stack of books as she walked out over to the checkout desk and several pairs of eyes followed her every move.
“There she is.”
The woman who was the talk of the afternoon walked behind the counter, placing each book into several neat piles, giving you and your thirsty classmates the full view of her. The curvy librarian was gorgeous - perfect face with a perfect body that she seemed proud of as she dressed in a tight low-cut blouse that showed off head-turning cleavage and her very voluptuous chest. Her light brown locks were pulled back in her usual ponytail, and to top it all off round glasses that matched the frame of her face, fitting into the typical librarian look quite well.
“What do you think?”
“I think I wanna fuck her.”
“Get in line.”
Now, you didn’t spend every Friday afternoon just to ogle her, as much as that was a routine part of your schedule. There were rumors, several rumors about the librarian that your table was drooling over that Somi was a very... promiscuous woman, which was not that out of line given her youth and her well defined assets.
The librarian thing was a bit cliché, and while there were a few other librarians you saw during the week who were quite attractive, none of them matched the beauty and sex appeal of Somi. She was something else.
Somi drove everyone in the building crazy just by breathing. Her presence was deadly, she kept her hair tied up like it contained her every secret. Those deadly tight skirts showed off her dangerous curves and gave a perfect look at every inch of those long luscious legs that seemed to never end, her body absolutely oozed with sex. You wanted to have her - you needed her, and nothing would get in your way.
“You think she can take all three of us?” your previously clueless classmate asked.
“At the same time?”
“Yeah, at the same time. Fill each one of her holes.”
“Don’t you two losers have studying to do?” you asked, annoyed with the sudden depravity
of the conversation.
“We’ve been studying all day, cut us some slack. Don’t you have studying to do?”
“No, I’m done with classes for the day. The only thing I need to study is that hot piece of ass behind the counter.”
You studied Somi like a hawk, watching her every movement. You studied every subtle motion as she reshelved books, the tight skirt draped around her waist doing justice to her wonderful backside. You felt your cock twitching as she bent down to place books down on the lower shelves, giving the whole library just a hint of what they all wanted.
Without a word you stood up and left the group, leaving your belongings as you approached your unsuspecting prey with hunger in your eyes.
“Excuse me, Miss…Somi” you said, feigning ignorance as you scanned the nametag attached to her shirt, which in reality was just a poor excuse to get a glimpse of her big luscious tits up close.
“What can I help you with?”
“I’m looking for a book for one of my classes. I don’t quite remember the name.”
“I can direct you to our computer systems, we have a list of required reading material from each professor that you can look through and see if anything looks familiar?”
“I’m really not good with computers, Miss Somi. Do you... have a section where all the most popular books are located?”
“Yes we do, right this way.”
You walked behind her, watching every step carefully and her hips swaying as she lead you to the specified section. You had no intention to acquire a book, putting on your best act as you pretended to find what you were looking for.
“Oh here it is, right here,” you said, after scanning several titles, grabbing a book with such randomness that you might as well have chosen it in the dark.
“Thank you, Miss Somi.”
“You’re very welcome, let me know if you know anything else from me.”
“Oh, I will,” you said, smirking as you walked away from the hot librarian and towards the checkout counter, planting the seeds of your master plan.
It was easy to see how rumors started with a woman like Somi. There was more to your conversation than Somi just doing her job. Something a little flirtatious with how she talked, and while you didn’t know her you wanted to. In an intimate way. You felt seduced by her already, as if she had just undressed you with her eyes.
With a plan carefully in place, you returned the next night, much later. Saturday nights at the library were like a graveyard. You counted the amount of people you saw as you walked in on one hand. Perfect.
You hid in between tall shelves, trying to subtly find your target as you skimmed the labels of nearby books. Out of the corner of your eye you saw her, wearing an even tighter top and an even shorter skirt. You tried to control yourself as you watched between the shelves as she placed books up on a tall shelf, stretching up to reach as her breasts bounced with every book placed.
You kept an eye on her, but also kept your distance, listening for the squeaking of her book cart that gave away her location within earshot. As you walked alongside the wide seemingly never ending rows of shelves you marveled at their construction, realizing just how strong and sturdy they looked, and wondering if anyone was lucky enough to bend Somi over one.
Somi had finished shelving the last of her books, and you put your plan in action and made a beeline for her section, rounding the corner as you approached her.
Your sudden appearance startled the young girl who had spent the better part of an hour surrounded by books and silence.
“Hello sir,” she said, greeting you with a bright smile and sparkling eyes that you tried to keep focus on, and kept your pants in check as you tried to not let them wander around to the more generous parts of her body.
“Hello, Somi. It seems I require your assistance again.”
“Of course, what can I help you with?”
“I’m looking for a book,” you said, stating the obvious and trying to conceal your true intentions.
Somi adjusted her glasses, eager and waiting for a response. You tried to keep a neutral face, holding back a smirk as you responded. ”Don’t worry, I know the name this time. It’s called classic sex positions, I think there’s a number after it, twenty-five, fifty? That seems like more than plenty, but if you could help me find it, that would be greatly appreciated.”
You waited for Somi’s reaction, keeping your best poker face on as you watched the paleness on her face become a light red tint in embarrassment.
“Yes, I-I can help with that, it’ll uh, be upstairs. That’s where our adult material is kept. “
“Perfect,” you said, no longer able to keep up the facade on your end as a devilish grin formed on your lips.
“Please follow me.”
You did so with glee, walking up the spiral staircase with your eyes nonchalantly trained on her ass the whole time. When you arrived, you noticed the non discrete area labeled erotic and the dust collected on most of the shelves, giving the assumption that this area was not visited often, if ever.
Somi was nothing but professional as her fingers ran over the spine of each book, each title more and more ridiculous as the next one. “It has to be here somewhere.”
“Got it,” she said, snatching it up and presenting a black book to you with both hands. “Is this it? It was twenty five. ”
You flipped through it rather indiscreetly, making a show of the ridiculous positions and crude pictures. “Yes. This will do just fine.”
“Is there anything else-”
“Which one position is your favorite, Somi?”
“I’m sorry? Which what?”
“Which position do you like the most?” you said, the smirk on your lips no longer hidden.
“I uh, I don’t-”
“You don’t have to answer, I was just-”
“No, I don’t mind. The truth is...I’m a rather vanilla girl. I don’t really care as long as I’m on my back or bent over…”
“Are you saying you don’t prefer-” you flipped through a couple of pages, equipped to find something with the most ridiculous name. “The Rocking Stallion?”
Somi laughed out loud. “No, I can’t say I do. Now what about you?” she said, taking a few steps forward.
“What about me?”
“I told you mine. What’s your favorite position? Be specific. ”
You were surprised by Somi's sudden forwardness, but welcomed it as you hesitated before answering.
“I love to see a woman bent over for me. Seeing how wet she is, seeing her ass, seeing how much she wants me.“
“So you’re an ass man?”
“Not necessarily. Ass...thighs...tits, I love them all.”
Somi grew closer with every breath she drew, until you could almost feel her skin touching your own.
“Do you like it when a woman moans for you?”
“I love it.”
Her body even grew closer until you felt your back pressed against one of the many bookshelves, inadvertently knocking one of the books off the shelves.
“Let me get that for you,” Somi said, bending down deep, her skirt hiked up enough that you saw a glimpse of the black thong underneath, releasing a deep breath you were holding.
Somi stood up and shelved the book back in its place, her supple chest brushing up against your own enough to feel the heat of her body.
“What’s your favorite part of me?”
You took in another breath, feeling your lip beginning to quiver at the act of seduction you were being hit with.
“Come on, don’t be shy. I love learning about the students here. Just don’t say something lame like my eyes.”
“I love your tits, Somi.”
Somi's full juicy lips formed into a pretty smile. “Everybody does. Do you know how many times I catch people staring at my tits?”
“No, I don’t. “
“All the time. Whenever it comes to ask me something about where a book is, or where this section is. They stare at my tits, even if I know they’re trying not to. But I don’t mind, and I certainly can't blame them. Go on, take a peek. I know you were dying to see yesterday.”
Your neck was hurting from trying to not crane your neck downwards, but you stopped as your eyes moved down and focused on the delicious large breasts of Somi, inches away and in your view, they looked magnificent.
“What do you think?”
“They’re amazing.”
“They are, and they’re real.” Somi said, demonstrating by cupping her breasts and letting go, causing them to bounce perfectly.
“No doubt you’ve heard the rumors about me. That’s why you came here right? I don’t think you actually need any of the books you’ve asked me to find, and I know these books aren't the only thing you're checking out.”
“I guess you’ve figured me out, Miss Somi.”
“I am rather flattered that you went through all this trouble just to get in my pants. Does the idea of banging a librarian as hot as me get you off?”
“It does.”
“I bet it does. Now...all these pesky rumors. People come up with crazy ideas. People say that I’m a slut, that I’ll sleep with anybody who so much at looks at me. Pretty ridiculous right?” Somi asked, looking straight into your eyes with such a deep level of seduction that you didn’t know to respond.
“These rumors…”
Somi’s voice grew into a whisper as she angled her head, talking at a volume just soft enough for you to hear, not that anyone else was around.
“...are hardly rumors. Because I am a slut, and I do love to sleep with anyone. I know my body is amazing, and I want everyone to see it. That’s why I dress more daring, because I love to show it off, even if I get the staff telling me to cover up. Nobody else wants to work on weekends, so there’s not much they can do about it.”
You nearly choked. Somi’s voluptuous body made contact with yours, her breasts pressed against your chest, driving you crazy with lust. She looked into your eyes, waiting for any response, but you were more than speechless at the moment.
“So if you want...to bend me over, if you want to see my pretty ass...and if you want to stuff your cock in me and watch me be a pretty little slut for you...well all you have to do is ask.”
You found the will to gather your thoughts, despite everything going more than according to plan, you couldn’t help but hesitate as you picked your next words.
“I’m dying to fuck you Somi. But my dorm is occupied, my roommates are- ”
“Dorm? Who said anything about a dorm?” Somi interrupted. “You can fuck me right here.”
You’d never heard a better set of words. “Here? In the library?”
“Of course here. Nobody comes here on a Saturday night. Besides, the risk of getting caught is part of the fun right?”
“I-you’re right, but, I could get in trouble if someone sees us.”
“We both could. But they won’t find us. I’m the only librarian tonight, and people here this late are rather self-sufficient. I know all the spots hidden out of view, and nobody ever comes up here. Especially not the erotic section, not when porn exists. It’ll be our...little secret.”
“Sounds like you’ve done this before.”
“Oh you have no idea. So, what do you say? Wanna live out a fantasy and fuck a hot slutty librarian?”
“God, yes.”
“Good, because it seems like you’re ready to start already,” she teased, as her eyes were drawn down at the bulge in your pants that you hadn’t even realized had formed. You had been blindsided by Somi’s lewd words and seduction that had peaked your arousal, and there was no holding back now.
“Shit, I’m sor-”
“Sorry? There’s no need to be sorry. This is what I’m here for.”
Somi gave out another cute smile again as her voluptuous body pressed tighter, pressing you against the row of books as her hands wrapped around the nape of your neck. Everything happened so fast that you were in awe as you felt the softness of Somi’s plump lips as they smashed against your own and her sweet taste entered your mouth.
Her tongue followed and brushed up against your own, and if that wasn’t enough the abrupt feel of Somi cupping your cock sent you overboard with sensations as your tongues explored each others mouths. In return you reached forward and cupped Somi’s breasts, giving them a gentle squeeze through her clothes, feeling just how large and desirable they were in your hands.
Just as you were getting used to taste of Somi she pulled away, leaving you with an insatiable desire for more as she bit her lip as she dropped to her knees on the library’s colorful carpet.
“Can I suck your cock?” Somi asked, not that she ever needed to as her sexy lust-filled voice deepened your arousal. You gave a simple nod of your head as she eagerly fiddled with your pants, pulling them down along with your boxers down to your ankles. Somi’s pretty eyes widened as she exposed your stiff cock to to the liberating air, her sparkling eyes lit up and she licked her lips in approval.
Her eyes stayed glued to your cock like a moth to a flame as she wrapped her fingers around it, gently sliding up as she caressed your shaft.
“You’re really hard, like really hard. Do I turn you on that much?” Somi giggled, like it was no fault of her own. As she twisted her delicate hand around your shaft, softly pumping you up and down you leaked on her fingers already.
“Guess that answers that,” she smirked.
You felt her fingers tightening as they traveled the length of your cock, applying the most delicate of friction as she stroked you, smiling as your cock continued to leak over her slender fingers.
“Do you know how many times I’ve done this? How many times I’ve gotten on my knees in this very library, ready to give some guy I barely know a blowjob?”
“No idea.”
“I don’t either, because I’ve lost count. But I can tell you I’ve done it many times, so I’d like to think I can give a blowjob that will rock your world, but you’ll have to be the judge of that.”
Somi smiled innocently, beaming with confidence as you felt her tongue meeting your shaft, cleaning up each drop of precum that she had caused to escape already. Her hot breath on your cock felt incredible already, you moaned as she swirled around your sensitive head and made full use of her wet warm tongue as she gave several long swipes down the entirety of your length, sending shocks of deep pleasure throughout your body.
“Now...how do you want me to suck your cock? Nice and slow? Or wet and messy?”
You weighed your options. Usually you liked things slow, a nice build up really set the stage for what was next. But as the sultry voice of Somi wandered into your ears, you had no patience for build up, you wanted things as messy as possible.
“I want the messiest blowjob you can give me.”
Her eyes lit up, as if she wanted the same, and before she could say another word you felt soft lips wrapping around your tip, causing a gasp from your lips as she brought you into the satisfying warmth of her mouth.
Too preoccupied to shush you Somi did not waste time, those delicious lips felt heavenly on your cock as she sucked your tip softly and kept that gaze glued on yours. Her lips pushed forward, slickening up your shaft with every inch and without warning you felt the back of her throat, groaning at the sharp striking pleasure.
“Holy fuck,Somi,” you moaned, and she hummed as she enjoyed every second of your cock in her wet mouth. Her head bobbed at a rapid pace as you felt those sexy soft lips inhaling your cock, slurping away and drenching your cock in her warm saliva, spiking your body with insane pleasure.
If you were supposed to judge Somi's blowjob skills, she would get a gold fucking medal when it came to sucking your dick. She deepthroated you with relative ease, her pouty lips made you feel extra amazing as they worked your cock, moving from base to tip as she gave loud messy slurps, gagging occasionally and throwing away all pretense of trying to stay quiet.
The pleasure forced your eyes closed. It felt too good that you felt powerless as you savored the sloppy blowjob that Somi was delivering. Her wet lips moved faster and faster as they met the base of your cock, resting against your base before for a mere moment before retreating
Somi looked so damn pretty as she bobbed her head up and down, her innocent looking features contrasting with the fact that was she giving the messiest, loudest blowjob you’ve ever had the pleasure that you felt overwhelmed by it all.
You ran one of your hands through her hair, resting it there to help guide her, not that she really needed it as she sucked you off expertly. You fought the urge in your core that demanded you give in to the satisfaction Somi was bringing, the woman so gifted at sucking your cock that she could have made you cum in ten seconds if she really wanted to. But you weren’t ready, you needed to explore her body and weren’t going to stop until you did so.
Somi released your cock with a loud sensual pop, stroking your messy hard shaft with vigor and strength, and you were thankful for the much needed break even if it meant the loss of her warm mouth.
“You can fuck my face if you want,” Somi said, as innocently as if she were talking about some mundane subject as her lips curled into another smirk. She was full of surprises it seemed, and you would not take the invitation lightly.
“I don’t mind if you’re rough, I can take it," she said, removing her glasses, which took away a bit from the librarian outfit but made her look that much more sexier.
Her smirk turned into a mischievous grin as her mouth opened for you, granting you an opportunity that didn't come too often. You plunged your cock all the way inside her mouth as her lips tightened around it, hitting the back of her throat on the first try. You placed a hand on each side of her head, looking down at those big beautiful eyes with an absolute desire to ruin her.
The first thrust inside Somi’s warm wet mouth felt absolutely wonderful, as did the second and third. Your pace quickened with every rock of your hips, earning your first set of gags as you began to fuck Somi’s needy mouth, groaning every time you felt her wet lips meet the end of your hungry cock.
“This is going to get messy,” you said, as you retreated your cock for just a moment, giving a short breather.
Somi took your thinly veiled excuse to remove her top in stride and happily obliged, removing her tight red top and exposing her fantastic clothed breasts in a black lace bra that could hardly be contained.
“I love messy.”
You stared at her big tits for several seconds, wanting to devour her deep cleavage before slapping your cock on her soft puckered lips and pushing forward to enter her mouth again. You grabbed the back of her head a little more forcibly this time, and in one fluid movement shoved your cock down her throat again.
The look in Somi’s lust filled eyes was nothing but encouraging as you pulled her head down onto every inch of your cock, matching the timing as you resumed fucking her mouth, thrusting harsher and faster as you stared into those beautiful eyes that began welling up with tears.
It didn’t take long for drool to spill out of Somi’s mouth as you rocked your hips, pistoning your cock into her and forcing every bit down her throat. It was rough, and certainly messy, but not once did Somi show any bit of discomfort, instead smiling with her eyes at how forceful you were with her, as if she loved to be used.
The more you filled Somi’s pretty mouth, the more she gagged, her watery eyes showing how much she loved this as she held onto your thighs and braced herself as she became a beautiful ruined mess.
With every harsh thrust Somi felt a pool forming in between her thighs as you used her, she was getting of on this just as much as you were. The gagging sounds coming out of her mouth grew louder, the lipstick around her mouth now became smeared against her lips and the head of your slickened cock that continued driving in and out of her messy mouth without a hint of care, dripping more saliva onto her chin and down into her delicious cleavage.
As much as you loved Somi on her knees, choking on your cock in the middle of the library’s adult section you were both starting to tire out. You held Somi all the way down, looking at her watery eyes, her messy face, and smeared lips as every second felt like forever, looking down and waiting for some signal for you to stop, but Somi took it all like a champ.
When you finally loosened your hold of Somi, you collapsed against the nearest bookshelf, both of you gasping for air.
“You okay? Too rough?”
Somi simply shook her head and smiled. “Not at all, I loved it. Nothing I couldn’t handle.”
You felt soft hands wrapping around your dick again, as you looked down you saw Somi gently jerking you off again. “Let’s see if I can handle this. It’s big. Want to fuck me now?”
“I’d love to...but what I really want is to see those big fucking tits.”
“I’d love for you to see them, but let’s go somewhere more private first. One of those more... hidden spots I told you about.“
Somi stood upright and offered her hand, which you accepted as you stepped out of your pants and underwear, leaving a small pile of your combined clothes behind. She led you further into the depths of the upper floor, taking you into a section that was a little bit darker, a little bit quieter, but also a little cozier. Tall brown shelves formed an L-shape, and you noticed the table centered in the area which Somi pulled a short chain on a lamp to illuminate the area slightly.
Somi ran a finger through one of the shelves, demonstrating the dust that collected on her fingertip before rubbing it off on her dark skirt.
“Since I’ve worked here I haven’t seen a single person in this area. Not even once. This is our reference area, but most of these books are decades old and useless. I’d even bet that these books are older than the two of us, so I don’t think we’ll have anyone bothering us here. ”
You exchanged smiles as Somi pulled out a wooden chair and gently pushed you back onto it, running her small delicate hand over the surface of the table that she seemed more than familiar with.
“And as you can see, this table will be useful later. That is if you want to use it.” Somi grinned and climbed onto your naked lap. “Now,where were we?”
“You were about to show me your tits.”
“Right.” Even clothed in a bra, you could tell just how well endowed Somi was, her bra working hard to support her huge tits and you were grateful she wasn’t going to wait long to reveal them.
As Somi reached behind her back to unclasp her bra, you wondered for a second how many men she has done this for, but those thoughts were quickly erased by the reveal of her chest as she tossed her bra away and exposed her large and round breasts. The beautiful paleness of her naked upper torso highlighted by the dim lamp. Somi’s bare breasts were absolutely perfect and mouthwatering.
You didn’t let Somi get another word in before you dove in, cupping her tits and giving a firm squeeze, floored by just how huge and soft they felt in your hands.
“Fuck, these are the best tits I’ve ever seen.”
You couldn’t take her eyes off her chest for a second as you felt the warmth and softness of them, fondling, squeezing, and doing everything you can to get as much of them into your hands as possible, feeling her stiff pink nipples brushing up against your palms as her arousal level mirrored your own.
Their warmth and weight and softness drove you insane, you still couldn’t believe just how goddamn big they felt as you continued groping Somi’s delicious tits, caressing them with your hands as she leaned back to grant better access to her chest, while you never had your fill of playing with her luscious tits.
As you partook in the scrumptious chest of Somi, you forget that you are even in a library as you feasted on her tits, bringing your mouth to one of her pink nipples and swirling it around before capturing in between your lips, sucking and slurping on it just as loud as she had your cock to earn a soft needy moan from the librarian.
“Careful...they’re sensitive..” Somi cautioned, but you cared little for her words as your lips were too preoccupied on tasting her large mounds, messily slurping and nibbling and downright devouring them, encouraged by the whiny moans of Somi being pleasured.
You could do this until your lips were numb, and even then you were sure you wouldn’t be able to stop. You switched nipples every so often, both of her hard nubs coated in your saliva as you worked them into your mouth, doing every single thing to stimulate her swollen breasts - licking, sucking, pinching and even the occasional biting.
You took one more taste of Somi’s tits, her moans growing louder as you gave each breast one long slurp and prepared yourself for what was next.
“Looks like...you’re ready to fuck me,” Somi said, feeling the stiffness of your cock that never seemed to die down.
“But before you do, I bet you would love to fuck these big tits huh?”
You were too tired to give an answer, but Somi didn’t need it. She knew your response already as she knelt on the carpet again.
“Thought so.”
It took a while to process the sentence that just escaped out of Somi’s mouth. With her knees on the carpet and a smile on that gorgeous messy face, she leaned forward, cupping her own breasts and wrapped them around your cock, smothering your shaft in the warmth and pillowy softness of her bountiful cleavage.
You groaned as you felt her tits around every bit of your cock. Somi let out cute innocent giggles as she pleased your cock with her big tits, causing grunts and groans at the sensation of her tits wrapped around your needy shaft. She supplied adequate saliva, spitting in between her cleavage constantly to provide generous lubrication that ensured your cock moved smoothly and freely in between those delicious large mounds.
Her ample full breasts felt like heaven as they slid up and down your cock, she pressed her hands around her chest and squeezed tighter, feeling your sensitive shaft throbbing and twitching more as if she were daring you to cum, sensing the climax that had been building up for the last several minutes.
“Do you love this? Do you love fucking my big tits?”
“More than anything in the world, Somi.”
In between deep breaths you moaned Somi’s name as she quickened the pace, trying to lick the tip of your leaking cock every time it reappeared from her deep cleavage, each time she succeeded causing electrifying pleasure.
“Somi...fuck, you’re gonna make me cum if you keep doing that.”
“Then I’ll keep doing this,” she smirked. “Cum if you need to, but you better stay hard. I’m not done with you yet.”
Somi kept your cock tightly contained in her slippery cleavage, staring at the need in your eyes and the uncontrollable yearn for her tits as she sped the tempo up, fueling your demand for release.
With each pump in between her soft breasts, you found it harder to breathe and the aching in the pit of your stomach grew and tensed up your body. Somi took you to your limits, and soon after she brought you past them as you reached an early climax.
Somi grinned wide as you came with a loud greedy groan, your aching cock throbbed as thick spurts exploded out of your tip and filled her cleavage with hot sticky semen, finding her collarbone as a target to paint while the rest of your huge load landed on the top of her delicious breasts
She kept the friction going and didn’t stop grinding her chest until she milked every drop out of you until you had nothing left in the tank to give her. Somi’s lips smiled proudly, admiring the mess you left on her chest and leaned back to give you a view of her cum stained chest as she released you from the confines of her sticky cleavage.
“God, it’s so fucking thick, and sticky. Did you like bursting all over these huge tits?”
“Y-es, I loved it.”
Somi ran a finger in between the load deposited in her cleavage, collecting a bit to sample as she brought it to her lips and sucked it clean with a lewd slurp.
“Yummy,” Somi said, as she used her hands in circular motions to rub your stickiness into her chest, letting a devilish grin form on those plump lips.
“Let me clean you up.”
She sucked and cleaned every inch of your sensitive cock, and the return of her hot breath against your tip brought your erection back to life.
“Good, you’re still hard. Because I have an appetite for a pounding.”
“Whenever you’re ready...I’d be more than happy to demonstrate my favorite position.”
“I’m ready right fucking now,” you said as you stood up from your chair and helped Somi up to her knees.
“Prove it then. Fuck me.”
Somi spun around until she was no longer facing you, placing both of her hands flat on top of the dark wooden desk as she bent her body over it. She grabbed the hem of her tight skirt and hiked it up around her waist, enough to show you her plump ass and the thong that might as well have been see-through with how little it covered up.
As you pushed Somi’s thin thong to the side and revealed her delicious looking pink pussy, you squeezed the warm flesh of her ass and delivered a hard smack to each of her cheeks.
Somi gasped as you delivered a few more slaps to her perfect plump ass, looking between her full thighs at the pink pussy lips that looked divine and drenched with an abundance of slick already.
"Don't keep me waiting. Put that inside me now," she said, her pussy aching with need. You loved to normally tease a woman before you entered her, and you wanted to do the same to Somi but you both had no patience. You needed her now.
Somi looked over her shoulder as you prepared your cock, lining it up with her pretty pussy and placing it between the slippery lips of her entrance, feeling the heat of her core surrounding your cock already.
You entered Somi slowly without any hesitation as you both gave out hungry moans, feeling the tight silky wetness of her pussy that wrapped around your cock as you slid the first few inches inside her. As you settled into the sensations around your shaft as you pushed in deeper, feeling the incredible tightness of her wet pussy as you began stretching her slippery walls out as you filled her with more of your dick.
“Fuck, you're so big. Keep going,” Somi moaned.
The movement of your hips began, the pace slow and steady as you thrusted into Somi’s tight pussy, feeling her getting used to your size as she moaned along with your motions. You grabbed onto Somi’s delicious body by her hips, squeezing them with a firm grip as you found a rhythm, moving in and out at a pace that was not satisfactory for her.
“Harder,” she demanded. “Fuck me like you fucked my face. I know you can do better than this.”
You upped the pace immediately and gave Somi the satisfaction she desperately craved. Your hips smacked against her ass as you pistoned into her tight dripping pussy with ease, her juices slickening up your shaft generously and moaning into the night.
"We're still in a library, Somi," you remarked, and even though the likelihood of being caught was low, you still reached forward and placed a hand over her mouth in attempting to silence her loud moans.
The tight seal on Somi's mouth did not last, as she used the opportunity to suck on your fingers, silencing herself as she lewdly slurped on your fingers. Her wet lips on your fingertips persisted as you pounded into her tight cunt, increasing your pace as you fucked her from behind as deep as you could go, filling her with every last inch of your shaft.
You withdrew your fingers from her lips, feeling the saliva coated on them as you used the same hand and grabbed onto Somi's ponytail and formed a tight fist around it, pulling back and causing her head to jerk back. You felt her walls clenching tighter in response, and with a handful of her hair you absolutely drilled Somi, fucking her with deep long strokes as she let her satisfaction known by releasing loud and drawn-out lustful moans.
"Fuck, you're deep, oh my god fuck me, don't fucking stop!"
You put in more power into your hips as you wrecked Somi from behind, slamming into her tight hole with the harshest thrusts you could summon. The wet sounds of her pussy and slapping sounds as your body smacked against her ass filled your ears and motivated you to keep the harsh pace, increasing Somi's seductive moans as she lost herself in pleasure.
"You really know how to use that fucking cock don't you? God, you're stretching me so wide, I fucking love it," she said, eyes rolling in the back of her head as she was stuffed with cock to the very hilt.
"I can tell by how wet you are. You always like it this rough?"
"Yes. If I can still walk the next day then it wasn't hard enough. Now keep fucking me, use me like the little slut I am."
“With pleasure.”
It wasn’t often that you involved yourself with anyone as unique as Somi. She knew what she wanted, and that was a turn-on in itself. And as you felt the hot pink flesh wrapping around your member, you hoped that this wasn’t a one time thing. There were many things you wanted to do to her, and hell you’d even check out that goofy book to help out.
Somi’s cries of pleasure were intoxicating, and you wanted to hear them as long as you could. You grabbed her breasts from behind and felt her pussy pulsating around you, her tight walls wettening your cock as you pounded into her without a care in the world, knowing that she was close to climax.
You increased your speed even more, playing with her wonderful full breasts and pinching her hard nipples, teasing her into an approaching orgasm that sent her scrambling for anything to grab onto, desperately finding the edge of the table to find an outlet.
“Ah, fuck, I’m cumming!”
Her climax was loud as it was messy, you felt her walls squeezing your cock hard, dripping around your shaft as her body shook violently. It took everything you had to keep yourself deep inside her, fucking her through her wild and intense orgasm which was sending you on the road to your own climax.
“Fuck, Somi, you’re going to make me cum too. Where do you want it?”
“Anywhere you’d like. You can fill me up, or you can paint my face. It’s your choice.“
You smirked at such wonderful invitation “I’d love to cum all over that pretty face. Nothing would make me happier than to see you covered in such a big thick load.”
“Then come make a mess all over me.”
With one more firm squeeze you let go of Somi’s tits, returning your hands to the full wide hips of her body as you gave her everything you had left, fucking her from behind with every last bit of energy and strength, savoring the unforgettable tightness and warmth of her pussy as you grew closer and closer to the edge.
As you pulled out, Somi knew what to do and dropped to her knees one last time, smiling as she awaited what you have in store for her. You took your cock in your hand, slicked with her juices, aiming your cock at the beautiful librarian’s face as your climax neared.
“Shoot that fucking load all over my face.”
She couldn’t wait for you to burst all over her gorgeous face, and neither could you, slowly stroking over her face as she looked up eagerly in anticipation.
Those few final pumps brought you to release and Somi was more than happy to receive your load as you unloaded all over her stunningly beautiful face. Your breath weakened and you let out loud moans as you shot the first few thick spurts onto her forehead, nose, and cheeks, long lines of cum catching in her hair and earning lustful moans as she smiled deeply as she felt the sticky warmth coating her gorgeous face.
You saved the last bit of built up seed and aimed for those beautiful soft lips, painting them white as the final spurts of your load coated them, thick streams clinging everywhere to Somi’s face into a beautiful sticky mess.
You looked down at the proud mess you left on Somi’s beautiful face and she looked up with satisfaction, unable to stop smiling as she gushed in between her thighs. Your hot load clung to her face, the weight of it arousing her to an all time high, and she cleaned your cock once again with sticky white lips sucking the sensitive tip of your cock. Your freshly deposited load began to slowly drip down her cum-stained face, and as you caught you breath you've never seen such a beautiful sight.
Somi giggled as she finished polishing your cock, releasing it with a loud pop that signaled an end to the night's festivities, not that you were really in a position to go again.
“Now that’s a load…”
Somi cleaned up what she could with her fingers, feeling it trickle down into her cleavage as the two of you collectively caught your breath.
“How does it feel... to fuck a librarian?” Somi said, in between deep breaths.
“Amazing. You’re incredible, Somi. I’d love to do this again,” you said, hypnotized by her heaving breasts.
“You know where to find me. I don’t work on weekdays, but I live on campus so I don’t mind coming in for a little one on one assistance. Or maybe you’d prefer the bedroom? I don’t have a roommate.”
“Either sounds perfect.”
“Then I’ll see you soon. It’s almost closing time and I need to clean up this mess you left all over me. " She let an adorable giggle once more as she began to dress and sent you on your way. “Good night, I hope to see you again.”
“Good night, Somi. Thank you for your assistance. “

Damienette arranged marriage: part 26
-------------------------
“Hold still girl if you want to see your friend and yourself walk out of here alive!” Mayura threatened her. To enforce the point made by his partner, Hawkmoth pressed the blade closer, drawing some blood. A single droplet traveled along the edge and hit the floor. The heroine felt her whole body go stiff with fear. She silently accepted her fate when suddenly there was an ear-piercing cry of pain behind her. The blade, together with hand that was holding it, fell to the ground. Hawkmoth stumbled holding the stump that used to be his hand. Behind him Damian wiped the blood from his blade.
“Leave. My Wife. Alone!” He barked and turned to Mayura. “The game is over.”
-------------------------------
Hawkmoth was really glad that his miraculous stopped the bleeding immediately. But at the same time the pain was almost making him see stars. So she married a batbrat…
Mayura immediately let Luka go and rushed to Hawkmoth to help him. She tried to lift him, but she was stopped when a cold blade was pressed to her neck.
“I wouldn’t try it. He will need immediate medical attention once his transformation wears off.” Robin said through the gritted teeth. “Try not to join that list.”
Marinette was still in shock of the events that just occured, but she grabbed her yo-yo and tossed it up. “Miraculous Ladybug!” A swarm of magical energy traveled everywhere around and fixed everything, including Hawkmoth’s hand, but he was still without his weapon while Mayura was at the sword’s pointy end. The heroine walked to the defeated pain. “Gabriel Agreste, Nathalie Sanscoeur, As the Great Guardian of Miraculous I hereby renounce your right to miraculous you have abused.” With that, she plucked their jewels away. The two Kwami were ejected from them and looked at the girl with clear relief. She then turned away to collect other miraculous when suddenly a knife went through her. Adrien was standing there with fury in his eyes.
“You’ve chosen some random american hero over me?! What does he have that I don’t!? You are a monster!” He spat at the girl. He was about to grab her miraculous when a chakram hit him and pushed him back. He stumbled and fell on the ground. Damian was about to rush him and gutter him open, but Nathalie used the distraction to tackle the hero and looked at the blond boy.
“Run! Run and don’t look back!” She shouted and turned back to the wrestle match against Robin. She was winning until other heroes didn’t come at her aid. Adrien grabbed the Butterfly and Peacock miraculous and run as fast as he could. He jumped into the platform and traveled to the underground compound. Spoiler was about to jump after him, but she turned her attention to where Ladybug laid.
Marinette had a knife going through her chest, about right where her heart was. Damian punched Nathalie hard enough for her to get knocked out cold and run to his wife.
“Angel! Can you hear me?!” He held her close.
“Dami…” She was too weak to actually say his full name. “Did… did…”
“You did it angel!” He cried loudly. “Hawkmoth and Mayura are both no more! Everything is going to be fine.”
“I… thank… you…” She managed to spit out. While she was not bleeding, having a pierced heart would still kill her slowly. He also suspected her lungs were damaged given her irregular breath and troubles with speaking.
“Save your strength. The help is on the way I am sure.” He tried to comfort her. The certainty in his voice almost convinced him that it will be okay.
“The t-time… with you…” She had to make a break in the middle of the sentence, but she grabbed his hand tighter. “was best… in my life…” She pressed his hand to her stomach tighter.
“And we will have more time together angel. Don’t leave me! Don’t leave me damn it!” He cried.
Gabriel took advantage of the commotion and tried to sneak away, but the Gorilla stepped in his way. “Nuh Nuh.” He grumbled while shaking his head before he hit his former boss on the head like a whack-a-mole game.
Finally, the transformation surrendered and Tikki was forcefully expelled from the earrings. Blood started to fall from the wound.
“Oh Marinette! I am so sorry! I…” The kwami moaned.
Damian stopped speaking. He just looked at his wife. She was so little, smaller than even him. He contemplated pulling the knife, but it would be pointless.
“Can you… Can you heal her?” Sabine asked the Kwami.
“I don’t know. Oh Marinette!” Small goddess of creation nuzzled into the neck of now passed out girl. The pulse was still there, but it was getting weaker with each passing second.
Damian took off his mask. Screw secrecy! He looked at the girl he came to adore and tightened his grip on his hand. “Don’t leave me habibti. Please don’t do it…” A single tear fell from his eye, mixing with the blood around her heart. Then the next one. And another. He allowed his emotions to surface. He didn’t care who saw what. It was his moment, his wife, his damn business and no one’s else.
Tikki saw the pain and suffering and cursed. Cursed the laws, cursed the balance, cursed her own limitations. She was the most powerful kwami... scratch that, most powerful thing in existence. She created this whole damn world. Marinette was her greatest companion and true friend. She would not watch her Ladybug pass away so young. The Kwami floated above the girl and focused her energy. An orb of white formed around her and she launched it on Marinette. As the energy connected with her, the knife was destroyed and wound closed immediately. There was a flash of green light for just a moment, but it was quenched with another green light that came from where Damian’s tears still remained.
There was also another pulse of energy. This one was much bigger and came from near the ring of Black Cat where Plagg just awoke after he was exhausted. Doing evil was much more tiring for Kwami. And him potentially hurting Tikki like that made the lazy cat pass out for some time. Now he sensed the balance shifting. He acted almost on instinct, but retained enough awareness to change one thing. This pulse hit everyone in the room, but it looked Like Gabriel and Nathalie got the worst of it.
Marinette opened her eyes and graped for air, looking at Damian confused. “W-What… What just happened.”
“You are alive!” He shouted and pulled her in deep hug. She was confused at first, but embraced her husband as well.
“Marinette! You are healed…” Sabine lost her voice. “Thank you Tikki. Thank you so very much. You can have any sweets you want whenever you want!” She shouted before jumping to pull both Damian and Marinette into embrace.
“That is indeed a great news to see Mari-hime well, but what exactly happened.” Kagami asked, voicing what everyone thought.
“I can answer that.” Plagg floated closer to them while carrying his own ring. “When Tikki used her power to heal Marinette, she disturbed the balance. Normally, it would require someone else to surrender his life force to heal her.” It was unlike the Kwami of destruction to speak in such academic tone, but most seemed to ignore this fact for now. “But since she was still alive and I was conscious I instead took some of the life energy from everyone. For next few weeks, maybe months I would advise you to avoid strenuous activities.”
“Since when do you know the word ‘strenuous’ Plagg?” Tikki giggled while looking at the other Kwami.
“I have other interests than eating cheese!” He shouted. “Besides this mogger hid my cheese behind encyclopedia and I read it while eating at night.” He murmured. Tikki would have probably laughed if not the implications behind this. She floated to her companion and pulled him in a hug. There were no words spoken, only the two of them comforting one another after so much things happened in such a short (for a Kwami) time.
-------------------------
Next week was hard. The defeat of Hawkmoth caused severe backlash. The public swarmed Ladybug wherever she went and questioned her about details. The chaos in the city caused by the news was close to riots. People were overly ecstatic. On the bright side, the school was canceled for the time of celebrations.
Before the heroes managed to turn their attention to Adrien he was long gone. He also wired all the funds from his father’s account somewhere. It was clear that the older Agreste had safety mechanisms in place just in case something like this happened.
Marinette didn’t care. She would later, but for now she was just happy that she could spend some time with Damian. Since the time she almost died, the two were inseparable. Even crowbar would not help here, so back off Jason!
The trip to America came sooner than expected. Marinette’s flight left on Monday, but Damian had to return by Saturday to have everything prepared. She wanted to go with him, but Madame Bustier firmly protested, saying that all students must travel with her because she is class representative and some other utter bullshit (Damian’s words).
Still, the bluenette came to the airport to say goodbye. It was about five in the morning and they were in private longue while waiting for the jet to be ready. Marinette kept forgetting that she was married into the richest family in the world. Then again, she did not care. Damian would mean no less to her if he was broke.
“It’s only two days, but I will miss you” Marinette said to him when the message came that everything was set.
“Me too habibti.” He said while looking into her blueberry eyes.
“I… Thank you. For everything.” She smiled. “If I didn’t meet you, I would probably still be fighting a losing war against Hawkmoth.”
“It was nothing.” He shrugged it off. “I did what I had to. To keep you safe I would do more.” He paused for a moment, taking another look in her beautiful eyes. She also starred back at him, the two whirlpools of emerald were mesmerizing in the morning light. They were really mesmerizing at any time of the day or night. “Marinette… Before I go. There is one more thing I wanted to tell you. The last months I spent with you were amazing.” He forced himself not to close. Damian decided that he would do it today and he would. No matter how embarrassed he was feeling right now. There was only the two of them and he turned all the cameras into loop so his family could not hack them. “For the first time I could really be myself. I am grateful for that.”
Marinette looked at him funny. “Damian? What are you…” She didn’t finish the question because he interrupted her.
“Marinette Dupain-Cheng Al Ghoul Wayne. I think I love you. No. I know I love you.” He said with an emotionless expression. It took every bit of his willpower not to run away.
She blinked. Then she blinked again. The weight of this words almost crushed her. Suddenly her legs felt weak. She tried to avoid his gaze while her mind was getting overheated. But then the courage she always showed as Ladybug filled her. She straightened up and looked him deep in his eyes again. “Damian Al Ghoul Wayne… I love you too.” She said. there was a relaxed smile on her face, but the most important part were her eyes. Damian saw only one thing in them. Love. He never saw anything like that before, but he knew that this was love in purest form.
He grabbed her in the waist and looked at her with question. For a moment, she hesitated, understanding where this was going, but then she wrapped her hands around his neck and pulled himself closer. For a moment their faces were just inch apart. This was her last chance to back away. Yet instead, she closed the distance between their lips.

Chapter 5: Don't Stop Me Now
Killian - Two and a half years ago
Music had always been a constant in Killian's relationship with Emma. In fact, he had been playing the guitar and singing when they first met. The memory of that first meeting always accompanied him everywhere, to the point that he kept it as something precious.
It was impossible to forget that first moment when she entered the premises and how the lyrics of the song he was singing seemed to acquire a new meaning because of her. Certainly, she had looked like an angel, with a kind of ethereal aura surrounding her due to the way the bar lighting fell on her. That particular verse — You're just like an angel — had ended up being a kind of prelude since Emma had become the savior angel not only of The Kraken, but also of himself.
The first look she had given him would always be etched in his memory. He had found himself unable to take his eyes from the fire of her emerald gaze. To say that he fell in love at that very moment would be an exaggeration, but he would never deny that something stirred inside him when their eyes connected. He had definitely felt a kind of electricity enveloping them.
That feeling had not only not faded away but had increased as he got to know Emma. A rather difficult task, considering that she was a reserved woman, reluctant to open herself to others. There was something about her, though, a halo of mystery surrounding her, along with her determination and her incredible talent, that kept him completely bewitched.
His brother Liam, faithful to his standard of taking care for people in need of protection of some kind, took her under his wings from the beginning in such a subtle way that Emma didn't seem to notice. Little by little, she began to trust them, letting her true nature out to bloom and with it, causing his growing feelings towards her to increase even more.
No doubt the music in its different forms had helped to strengthen his feelings since it was as if his passion had always been the soundtrack to all the experiences he had begun to share with Emma. Something that wasn't surprising considering that they spent most of their time in the bar and that he was a musician. Still, he soon began cataloging his favorite songs based on the memories associated with Emma.
The Eye of the Tiger would always be connected with one of their first conversations, back when they barely knew each other and he tried to absorb any bit of information that she allowed herself to reveal.
Livin’ on a Prayer was playing in his favorite pizza shop the first time Emma had decided to accompany them after closing the bar. She even dared to joke with them by using the song's lyrics as an excuse, alluding to the fact that she hoped that the waitress who was serving them didn't have a life like the one of Gina in the song.
The song that opened his first performance in The Kraken was Sweet Child O’ Mine, chosen by Emma. In fact, she was in charge of supervising his entire repertoire and collaborated with him on everything related to his performances on Saturdays in Concert.
There was a song that stood out above the others, though. He had soon learned to respect Emma's reservations about being open to the idea of them as a couple. He also knew that he should be patient with her, perhaps because he had been harboring feelings towards her from the beginning. She had intrigued and seduced him in equal parts, with that look full of determination, her fierce expression, and her disarming smiles. His need to know more about her was overwhelming at times, but he restrained himself, waiting for the right moment.
The long-awaited moment came on a Monday night one and a half years after they met Emma for the first time. The evening had begun as usual, with a session of Netflix and pizza at the Jones brothers' apartment.
When the show they were watching ended, Liam decided to go to sleep, saying that he had to get up early the next day. Neither Emma nor Killian were in a hurry to call it a night, so they decided to check the set list of songs that Killian would sing next Saturday, putting the player on a low volume so as not to disturb Liam.
Killian couldn't help smiling the moment he recognized the first song by simply listening to the first chords. Don't Stop Me Now had always had that effect on him to the point that Liam had used it as a resource on several occasions when he had needed to lift Killian’s spirits. The song also seemed to have the same effect on Emma, as her lips curled into a bright smile as she began to hum the song softly.
"What?" she asked when she noticed he was staring at her.
His smile widened before answering. "Nothing, it's just that... I feel aliiive."
He chanted the last words, emulating Freddie's tone and causing, of course, Emma to roll her eyes. Still, a reluctant smile tugged at her lips before she decided to play along, much to his pleasant surprise.
"Let me guess, are you having a good time?"
"Oh yeah, I'm having a ball."
They both looked at each other for a few seconds before bursting out laughing while Freddie's voice accompanied them. It was a delight to see Emma in this way, so carefree, so relaxed, so he tried to make his brain work to continue creating situations like this that would allow her to shine even more than she normally did.
On this occasion, it seemed that he wouldn't have to make any effort because once the laughter subsided, their eyes met again, a mischievous spark crossing her gaze.
"Do you know what would make us have an even better time?" She paused deliberately while arching an eyebrow conspiratorially.
"Enlighten me, love."
"Alcohol."
That's how they ended up sharing shots — rum for him, tequila for her — while they continued to check the repertoire and sing along.
It was obvious that they were, in fact, having a good time. What Killian hadn't anticipated was that the ingested alcohol helped play into a sudden wave of nostalgia hitting him in the most unexpected way.
"I love this song," he commented as they listened to Another One Bites the Dust.
"Really?" she asked skeptically, narrowing her eyes. "It doesn't seem to suit you. I would say it's rather a bad-boy kind of song."
"Are you implying that I'm not a bad boy, Swan? Because maybe you would be surprised to know some aspects of my past." He was aware that it was the alcohol in his system that was speaking for him, making him use a tone that was perhaps too suggestive as he gave Emma a look full of intentions.
He wasn't surprised to see Emma rolling her eyes again before turning a little on the couch to stare at him more closely.  "So you've been a bad boy, Jones? Now I want to hear that story."
His brain had become numb enough to make him not care about the consequences of what was about to happen. After a brief hesitation, he took a new shot to drag down the emotions that struggled to emerge as he remembered his past and started to tell his story.
He told her how after his father's abandonment when he was barely fourteen he had entered a rebel stage, constantly getting into fights, smoking, drinking, and even committing some minor crimes.
He also told her that it was his brother who took him out of that spiral and put him back on the right track but that his good behavior was short-lived, much to Liam's despair.
He didn't even hesitate to tell her about Milah, ignoring how his pulse quickened and his heart hammered in his chest at the mere mention of her name. It was as if he had been accumulating all those emotions inside and finally found a way to release them, so he decided to hold on to that opportunity.
"Milah was my first love. I fell in love with her when I was just twenty years old. She was a few years older and came from a failure of a marriage, so she was looking for adventures and new experiences. It was something that I could offer her at that time although that would mean going back to my old habits. We were behaving as if we had the world at our feet and we could achieve whatever we set out to do."
Before continuing, he cast a sidelong glance at Emma. The expression on her face was indecipherable, but she was watching him closely, so he felt confident enough to keep baring his soul.
"I proposed to her a year later. Although Liam never expressed it openly, he never approved of my relationship with her. Anyway, our relationship was not meant to be since we were only engaged for six months." His voice trailed off while he took another sip of his drink, drowning out the intense emotion that threatened to overwhelm him.
Emma reached for his hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. The corners of his lips moved slightly upward in appreciation before continuing. "She died in a car accident and… well, let's say that my brother acted like my lifeline in those days. His perpetual support was the only thing that kept me afloat. And since we're using nautical metaphors, The Kraken served to anchor me to try to forge a future, at least professionally." He didn't mention that his heart was still healing six years later, but Emma's sympathetic look seemed to indicate that she had caught the hint.
Silence fell on them for a few seconds while he felt the pressure in his chest loosen, as if he had freed himself of a burden after his confession. He expected some kind of words of encouragement from Emma and was even prepared for some expression of pity towards him. What he didn't expect was that she also decided to open her heart.
She seemed hesitant, struggling with herself, until after an almost imperceptible nod of her head, she downed the contents of her glass in one swallow and looked at him, her eyes showing a special glow.
"Well... Since it seems that this is a confession kind of night, here goes mine. I was also a bad girl. I mean, that's how they usually catalog you when you're a foster kid and you don't seem to adapt well to anything or to anyone. In my case, I was determined to live up to that description." She sounded quite restrained, but Killian did not miss the hint of bitterness in her voice. Before he could offer any gesture of support, she continued. "I ran away when I was sixteen and, like you, I got into some trouble. A few months later, I met this guy, Neal, and let's say we didn't use the most legal methods to survive."
Killian already knew from previous conversations that Emma was an orphan. She had also dropped some glimpses into her awful romantic experiences, but always without going into details. Until now.
"I fell for him like an idiot. Maybe that's why it hurt a lot more when he decided to run away and even worse, he got me involved in a crime he had committed years previously." Her voice trailed off as she clenched her jaw and averted her gaze for a moment. He debated whether he should reach for her or not but before he decided, she hardened her features and continued speaking in an unexpressive tone. "I would have ended up in prison had it not been for the fact that I was a minor and my social worker decided to take pity on me. She worked hard until I got included in a program that would help me graduate from high school and prepare me to gain entrance into college."
Only when she paused for another drink did Killian realize that he had been holding his breath. He also noticed that he had his right hand curled into a fist to the point that his knuckles turned white, such was the tension he felt when he heard Emma's story. He was aware that there was still more to come, but at least the worst part seemed to have passed since Emma's expression eased a little, much to his relief.
"And that's where the Arendelle sisters come in. Anna was my roommate during college but Elsa lived relatively close to the campus and we saw her quite often. You already know how Elsa is, always wanting to take care of others. For some reason, she seemed to be fond of me and took me under her wings, involving me in all kinds of activities and inviting me to spend every vacation together with them."
Killian liked Elsa. She was a kind, caring person, who always had a gentle smile or words of encouragement for the people around her. He was aware that the connection between Emma and Elsa was stronger than that with Anna, probably because they were more alike and because Emma saw Elsa as a kind of older sister since Elsa was four years older. He was thankful that chance or fate had put the two sisters in Emma's path, thus giving her the support she deserved after a childhood marked by loneliness.
"Well, that seems like it hasn't changed over time. I mean Elsa and her tendency to take care of the people around her."
"You're right, of course. In fact, during the time I was in New York after finishing college, she called me constantly to make sure I was eating enough." She sounded annoyed but the smile that appeared on her face was full of affection. "Speaking of New York," she paused for a moment, her expression becoming more serious. "We're already reaching the last chapter of Emma's pathetic life." She let out a humorless laugh before continuing. Once again, he was tempted to reach for her and offer her some comfort, but he restrained himself once again to let her resume her story.
"I went to New York for a job opportunity and I soon met this guy there, Walsh. Everything went well for a few months until the company I worked for went bankrupt and I discovered that Walsh was cheating on me. So I took my belongings and returned to Boston with Elsa with a broken heart and hardly any savings. And you already know the rest."
"Well, I would say that our lives are no longer pathetic, Swan. Look at us, running a successful business and fulfilling our dreams in some way, me with my music and you with your creative magic and your pictures."
"It's not that bad," she admitted reluctantly while her lips twisted up in an attempt at a smile. At least the bitterness seemed to have disappeared from her voice and her features had softened. "Look at us at... " She paused for a moment while she looked around with a confused expression on her face until she spotted her phone and grabbed it, looking at the screen "...at almost two in the morning, listening to our favorite music and a little drunk.  And we don't have to get up early tomorrow, which is pretty fantastic and besides... At least for my part, I have my heart sealed so there is no risk of anyone breaking it again. So everything is fine, isn't it?"
Killian felt his heart drop into his stomach after hearing her last words, but he chose to ignore the feeling of disappointment that threatened to emerge, focusing again on Emma. She looked beautiful with her flushed cheeks and her emerald gaze intensified by her slightly watery eyes. Her innate beauty was undeniable, although he suspected that alcohol — and the moment of confessions — had something to do with those two aspects. Her speech had also become a bit slurred, so, although they hadn't drunk that much, he wondered if it was time to stop. Again, Emma surprised him before he could even open his mouth.
Her gaze shifted back to the phone she was still holding, her brow furrowed in an expression of concentration as she slid her finger across the screen, as if she were looking for something. The living room remained silent for a moment until she got up from the couch and the first notes of a song began to play. A well-known song. Again.
Don't Stop Me Now. The song that had started this entire cathartic night.
"Tonight, I'm gonna have myself a real good time, I feel alive and the world I'll turn it inside out, yeah and floating around in ecstasy."
Emma Swan was singing to him with a soft and suggestive voice as she stared at him. Killian remained still, watching her performance with rapt attention as he pressed his lips together to keep his mouth from hanging open. She wasn't an angel anymore, she was a goddess and he was totally at her mercy.
Well, his thoughts might run a little wild due to his state of semi inebriation, but then Emma offered him her brightest smile as she raised her hand holding up her glass and making the gesture of toasting. "Come on, we're having a good time." She hummed again as she grabbed his hand and pulled him up. He had no choice but to oblige, of course.
It was in this way, singing and dancing in unison to the rhythm of the music, when Killian was finally able to admit his true feelings. He was in love with Emma, that incredible woman, who had risen from her ashes and who, despite the darkness she had gone through during her early years, now was able to bring light to the people around her. His heart was finally healing, although it was evident from Emma's words that it would still take her a long time to reach that level, if she ever got it. Still, he set himself a goal, to try to keep Emma in the light and not let anything or anyone ever hurt her again.
"What the hell are you doing? It's two in the bloody morning!" Liam's unexpected angry voice brought him back to reality. He snapped his head in the direction of the voice and found his brother leaning against the door frame, his arms crossed over his chest, and a scowling expression on his face.
Although the music was still playing, the two of them suddenly stopped singing as they looked at each other and then at Liam. When he heard a giggle from Emma, he couldn't hold it anymore. A chuckle bubbled in his throat as the two of them looked back at each other and finally burst out laughing.
"Ha, ha. It's not funny, guys," Liam grumbled as the wrinkle in his brow deepened, causing their laughter to grow even more intense.
"Come and join us, Liam." Once the laughter subsided Emma gestured to Liam with her hand while offering him a glass of rum. "We're celebrating."
"Don't be an ass and have some fun even for just one day. Or night," Killian added while smirking at his brother.
"What are we supposed to be celebrating?" Liam ignored him and instead stepped forward and grabbed the phone to stop the music. Next, he focused his gaze on Emma as his features softened. It was obvious that his brother had a soft spot for her, and he didn't really blame him. The funny thing was that he had never felt jealous of his brother because, in his eyes, the relationship between Liam and Emma was rather fraternal, as if she were his little sister, which sounded a bit weird considering his own affections towards her…
Stop. Bloody hell, he was definitely drunk.
"We're celebrating—" Emma stopped for a moment while waving her hand as if she were holding a microphone, "that we're having a good time," she hummed, emulating Freddie's voice.
"So don't stop us now," Killian sang, going along with her.
Liam let out a deep sigh before raising his eyes to the ceiling while hissing, "Dear Lord, give me patience." Then he grabbed the glass Emma was offering him. "Why are we toasting now?"
"To us," Emma responded by raising her glass.
"And because a broken heart means that it still works," Killian ventured to add as he cast a sidelong glance at Emma for her reaction. Her head snapped in his direction as she held his gaze for a moment, her cheeks tinting a soft pink hue. She opened her mouth, but before she could say anything out loud, his brother came forward.
"Did I miss something?" Liam asked, his narrowed eyes flicking from him to Emma.
"Nothing," Emma hurried to answer after throwing Killian one last furtive look. "It's just that your brother seems to become a little sappy when he drinks."
Liam grinned, any trace of his previous anger faded from both his voice and his face when he found his favorite entertainment, messing with Killian. "He definitely can't hold his liquor."
"I'm still here." This time, it was his turn to sound moody. "And I can definitely hold my liquor."
"Whatever you say, little brother. Come on, we're going to toast one last time and then I'm dragging you to bed." Killian rolled his eyes, holding back a harsh retort. He instead focused on Emma again.
"Since it's so late, I guess my old brother would agree with me that you should stay overnight. You know there's room for you, Swan."
In response, Emma raised her glass, her lips curved into a wide smile. "Let's make a toast to us and to the succulent breakfast that Liam is going to prepare for these two poor hangovers."
This wouldn't be the first time Emma stayed for the night and, although Emma wasn't a morning person, it was always a pleasure to see her sleepy face first thing in the morning. While their glasses clinked together he hoped that these special moments would be repeated more often. He was willing to experience this sweet torture as much as possible.

Killian - December 2019
Saturday night. The adrenaline rushed through Killian’s veins and his whole body vibrated in anticipation of what was to come that night. He could almost feel the touch of the guitar strings on his fingertips, and how his vocal cords tensed, impatient to begin to work out their magic in the form of a melody.
This state of excitement was not something new to him. On the contrary, it was his usual condition on his concert nights. Everything was possible when he was on stage, he could feel it on every fiber of his being. He felt so alive in those moments, freer to express his feelings through the music. He felt powerful, able to get anything he set out to do. Well, almost everything.
The sounds around him brought him back to reality. He was behind the bar, following his usual routine on concert nights. He forced himself to act that way every Saturday night as a means of distraction, to keep his excitement at bay.
And tonight was not going to be any different. In front of him, two young women waited for their drinks. He offered them his trademark smile, a flash of white teeth and curled lips as he unfolded all his charms over the two customers. They, in turn, gave him bright smiles and suggestive glances, full of promise.
He was fully aware of the effect he had on the female clientele —and also on some male clients of course— but this kind of seduction game was just a part of his job. At the end of the day, he always went home escorted by his two favorite people in this world. His brother and his... well, his friend. For this reason, although his smile was directed at his avid clients, his gaze had only one goal, Emma Swan.
She was stunning that night, slipping through the crowd as she took photos right in front of him, teasing him like a bloody siren. Her choice of attire did not help to calm his agitation, but rather the opposite. She wore a tiny black top and black leather leggings, which, along with the heels she was also wearing, made her legs look slender. Her golden hair was pulled back in a high ponytail, which enhanced her features, making her even more desirable. A bloody siren.
He couldn’t take his gaze away from her. His eyes watched all her movements through the room and she seemed fully aware of his scrutiny. Maybe he was just imagining things, but the truth was that her suggestive movements were driving him crazy, especially when thinking that a little later they would have to share the stage.
His lips curled into a smile at the thought of their next performance together, his mind bringing to his memory the moment he unveiled the mystery and informed her of the song they would sing tonight.
 //
He hoped he had made the right decision.
After their kind of impromptu and then failed date the night before, Killian was going to meet Emma early at The Kraken to begin rehearsals for their upcoming performance. As he waited, his mind relived, again and again, some of the moments experienced the night before.
Emma had come to the restaurant wearing the same bloody dress from two months ago when they met by chance in that bar. Killian suspected that she was aware of the effect her attire had on him, yet he did his best to hold her gaze and keep his eyes from straying a little lower. ‘Bloody hell’. The sole image of her impressive neckline was enough to make his blood run hot in his veins.
Something different was happening between them. It was such a subtle change that Killian still couldn’t identify its meaning, but from that fateful day that he confessed his feelings about Emma to Liam due in part to Belle's betrayal, it was as if his attraction to Emma had multiplied. He felt freer now that he didn’t have to hide in front of his brother's eyes. The hope that his feelings might be reciprocated became more and more intense, as Emma was closer than ever; more affectionate, more tempting. Maybe it was only a matter of time. Or maybe it was just his imagination and Emma still saw him as just a friend.
The temptation to choose a romantic song as an instrument to express his feelings had been strong. After the experience with ‘Because The Night’, the idea of following the pattern his brother had started was quite attractive. He had even created a list of possible candidate songs. But this time, he couldn’t use his brother as an excuse as to the choice of the song. This time, the weight of the choice fell entirely upon him. Maybe he would be exposing himself too much, risking her picking up the hidden message and pushing herself away, raising her walls again.
No, he couldn’t take the risk, not now that her walls were so low that the line between friendship and something else was so faint. He would choose a fresh, positive theme that would at least allow them to have fun on stage, but that at the same time would have a somewhat deeper meaning which he expected Emma to grasp.
Killian grabbed his guitar and began to play the first notes while clearing his voice and trying to adjust the tone to the song. Just then, the front door of the premises opened with Emma appearing there in all her splendor.
Emma Swan was not a morning person. Killian became aware of that fact shortly after meeting her for the first time. It was a day where they had to take inventory at The Kraken at a time when ‘it should be forbidden to get out of bed’ (her words). Her complaints and sulky expression softened only when she had ingested a sufficient dose of caffeine. This time wasn't going to be any different, of course. Her features were still marked by sleep, her eyes slightly swollen, and her lips pursed in an adorable pout.
She grunted something like "morning," and dropped into one of the bar stools, burying her head in her folded arms on the counter. Killian couldn’t help but smile as he set the guitar on the stage and moved behind the bar. He pulled out the to-go cup of coffee he had previously bought and gave her a gentle squeeze on her arm to get her attention.
Emma raised her head enough for her eyes to detect the cup. "I'm still blaming you. Coffee is not enough." She pointed at him with an accusatory finger, but grabbed the cup and brought it to her lips, her throat emitting the most delicious sounds as a sign of appreciation for the hot liquid.
A few minutes later, Emma seemed to have recovered enough. A small wrinkle still remained on her forehead but she straightened her back and, at last, she focused her gaze on him.
"I need a reminder. At what point did this one-time thing become something else?" Her tone still had a harsh hue, but though her words were meant to be a reproach, her voice seemed to hide some amusement with the whole situation.
"Since we started using it as a business strategy, maybe? Or because you and I had a good time up there?" he offered, pointing toward the stage. Then he leaned over the counter, invading her personal space. "Or perhaps because it's the perfect excuse to spend time with a devilishly handsome guy?"
Emma rolled her eyes, a faint smile adorning her lips. "We already spend all our time together, I do not need any excuse." The fact that she had not denied the devilishly handsome thing didn’t go unnoticed by him, a wide smirk pulling up the corner of his lips.
"Shall we start the rehearsals now that the caffeine has taken effect?"
Emma let out a puff of air through a loud sigh. "Okay, if it has to be... Can you just tell me which song we are going to sing?"
Killian cleared his throat as he gave her a mischievous look. Then, he just hummed.
“Tonight I'm gonna have myself a real good time I feel aliiiiive”
Her eyes widened in recognition, a soft blush coloring her cheeks. Good. That was what he intended, for her to grasp the implications of his choice.
"Seriously?"
“And the world I'll turn it inside out - yeah
And floating around in ecstasy”
"You're serious, aren’t you? You want me to sing ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’? Why?" She seemed pleasantly surprised by the choice, but Killian did not miss a hint of disappointment in her voice. He tried not to read too much into it, but still, the idea that she might be somewhat disappointed because she expected a more romantic song caused his stomach to make a small somersault.
Killian stepped out from behind the bar and approached her, wrapping his arm around her shoulders as he pulled her to her feet. "Because we already have experience singing this song together. Because it brings me good memories. And because we'll have fun."
"We'll have fun," she parroted his last words as she tilted her head slightly, seeking his gaze, her eyebrow raised in question. "There's something else, right?"
Killian wagged his eyebrows at her, schooling his features so as not to betray the delight it meant to him that she knew him so well. "Well, I've prepared a musical base that can fit well with our voices. Besides, there may be another surprise..."
"Like what?"
She was both intrigued and excited; he could tell both from the slightly demanding tone of her voice as well as the intensity of her gaze, so Killian decided to go a little further with the game. "I'm thinking maybe it's a good idea if we leave the surprise for Saturday..."
"Don't you dare, Jones." She cut him off while hitting him in the chest with the palm of her hand. "I won't get on that stage without knowing what I'll find on it."
"Oh, but sometimes facing the unknown can be exciting, Swan."
"Just tell me."
"If the lady insists..." Killian let out a heavy sigh of resignation to give more effect to his confession. "I'm going to play the piano."
Her eyes widened in surprise as she stared at him with a strange expression on her face. "You mean Saturday on stage?"
He nodded his head, holding her gaze. "This song brings me very good memories, although some may be somewhat blurry. You know what I mean..." Before continuing he winked at her to emphasize his words. Her reaction was as expected, she offered him a look of complicity as she bit her lower lip in an adorable and yet so tempting gesture that he had to suppress the sudden urge to kiss her. "What do you say, Swan? Are you willing to create new memories with me and with the help of the piano?
The bright smile that blossomed on her face did nothing to mitigate the desire to finally taste those lips. Her response also did not help in the least, to be honest.
"But no alcohol is allowed before going on stage, okay? I intend to remember every detail of our performance." This time it was she who winked at him before separating from him and heading towards the stage.
He needed a few seconds before reacting, unable to decide if that game of seduction recently initiated by Emma was innocent, hiding a promising meaning or, on the contrary, was just a way to torture him. Oblivious to his inner turmoil, she went up the stage first and held her hand out to him. "Shall we begin then?"
Bloody hell. He was so fucked up.
 //
“Killian! You start in five minutes.”
Liam's voice coming from the other side of the bar brought him back to reality. Killian shook his thoughts away for at least a while, looked in his brother's direction, and nodded his head.
Killian didn't miss that while serving, Liam was chatting animatedly with Elsa. Fortunately, she had already recovered from her cold, and, in her words, she wouldn't miss their performance for anything in the world. Actually, Killian had begun to suspect — he was totally blaming Emma for this — that her usual presence there lately had another explanation.
Elsa even had come up with a plan for the next day that included the four of them. A soft chuckle escaped from his lips when Killian remembered Emma's reaction to this new plan, looking at him while raising an eyebrow in a barely subtle gesture, as if she were saying, ‘See? I told you so!’
Killian paused for a moment to observe them. Liam and Elsa were totally focused on each other as they chatted as if they were sharing something confidential. Killian wondered if maybe he should ask his brother about this change in attitude towards Elsa. He wasn't quite sure what the most appropriate way to approach the subject would be, given that Liam's relationship history was rather sparse.
He shook his head making a mental note to share the news with Emma later. Now he had to focus on his performance. He went into the office to pick up his guitar and tune the strings before starting. When he came out, he headed toward the stage. The pre-performance adrenaline ran through his veins, his muscles tensed in anticipation.
Emma was already waiting for him in her usual spot, on one side of the stage, a wide smile of encouragement drawn on her face. If things were different, he would kiss her senseless before climbing the stage. For now, though, he could only settle for a tight embrace. Their bodies joined for a few seconds while he buried his face in the crook of her neck and inhaled her intoxicant scent. He had become accustomed to these hugs as a prelude to his performance. It was as if the contact with her body gave him the necessary energy to give the best of himself up on the stage.
Before pulling away, she gave him a soft kiss on his cheek as she lightly squeezed his arm. He, in turn, took two deep breaths and smiled back as he nodded. He was prepared. Emma held up the camera as she told him, "Don't think I’m taking my eyes off you for a second."
"I would despair if you did, love. I'll see you in a while up there." He winked at her before walking to the center of the stage where Liam was already announcing the performance.
As the public began to clap and cheer, Liam stepped aside and patted his shoulder. Killian turned his head, looking for the sound engineer, and nodded subtly. His heart pounded against his rib cage as the music began to play, wrapping the entire room. He closed his eyes for a moment and when he opened them, his gaze sought Emma.
There she was, in the middle of the crowd, right in front of the stage, camera in hand. She smiled at him as she nodded.
That was all he needed.
His fingers slid over the strings of the guitar, creating the first chords as his vocal cords began to vibrate, and from there the magic appeared in the form of a melody.
For the next little while, he devoted himself to the music. He let it flow through his body, as the public accompanied him enthusiastically, chanting the songs, and cheering him on with applause and whistles.
Despite being focused on music, he kept track of Emma's movements. She, in turn, kept taking pictures of the crowd, but above all, took many more of him. He couldn’t wait to have her by his side. Although he would never acknowledge it, Liam's idea of Emma singing with him had been brilliant, on all levels.
He continued to sing a couple more songs, moving around the stage and encouraging the audience to sing along with him. Tonight there was something in the atmosphere that made him feel more exhilarated than on previous occasions. He let himself go and enjoyed the most of the moment. After one last song in which he gave everything of himself, the moment to share the stage finally came.
The last musical notes still echoed in the room when he grabbed the microphone with both hands and set out to introduce Emma.
"Thank you all, you are the best!" he shrieked, his breathing trying to normalize after the last song. "We still have one last performance as an encore for this special night. I ask for the loudest applause to welcome a great and talented person, a good co-worker, and the best friend that anyone can have. I present to you all, Emma Swan!"
She was ravishing tonight, he thought as he watched her step onto the stage. He was going to have a very hard time concentrating while Emma looked at him in that intense and suggestive way. Her lips curved into a smile he wanted to erase with his own lips on hers. But he was a professional first, so before the music began, he gave her a brief hug as he handed the microphone to her. He could feel she was nervous; this was new to her, after all. In an attempt to reassure her and before he took his place at the piano, he whispered in her ear, "Remember the rehearsals, love. Let yourself go, everything will turn out well." He squeezed her arm slightly, Emma nodding with a small smile. Then he walked over to the piano, trying to pull himself together.
Once more, he closed his eyes for a second, put his hands on the keys and, after two deep breaths, began to sing.
Their performance was everything he had imagined and more. Killian was especially inspired with the piano that night even though he hadn’t played the instrument for some time. That night, though, his fingers slid over the keys as if they had a life of their own. His voice sounded totally tuned, fitting with Emma's to perfection.
Perhaps her presence was what inspired him to give the best of himself. She was a goddess on stage. Maybe it was his partial vision because of his feelings for her, but the truth was that she was a natural up there. Once the initial nerves were over, she got into the performance, encouraging the crowd to sing with them. She jumped around and gestured towards him at times, like during the line ‘give me a call’ in which she simulated she was holding a phone while holding his gaze. He was surprised that he could be so attuned to the music with such distraction in front of him.
When the performance ended, his heart was beating frantically against his chest, his body was sweating but he felt elated, the discharge of adrenaline had had its effect. He couldn’t resist the temptation and pulled Emma towards him, wrapping her in a tight embrace to which she responded with the same enthusiasm, to his satisfaction. After a few seconds, they separated a little, but they held their arms around each other's waists. The public was still roaring and cheering around them, so they thanked them with a bow as they waved their hands.
Before leaving the stage, though, Emma had something prepared. She grabbed the microphone again, addressing the audience, her voice still sounding slightly breathless after her performance.
"Thank you very much to everyone for joining us tonight, and we hope to see you again next week for a new session of 'Saturdays in Concert.' Remember, you can visit our website and leave your comments there. And you can also choose what song you would like us to sing together next time. Thank you!" Emma applauded the audience, getting well deserved new cheers. Killian was impressed with this brilliant woman. She not only was able to shine on top of a stage but had the ability to seize the opportunity to boost their business. His admiration for her grew at times.
The ovation of the crowd accompanied them on their way to the bar, where Liam and Elsa were waiting for them. His heart swelled in his chest as he saw the proud smile his brother was wearing. Liam's approval meant the world to him, after everything he had done for him in recent years.
"Very well done guys," Elsa greeted them with an amused smile. "You two make a great team up there."
"You don’t have to thank me for having this great idea," Liam added, waving his hand in front of them.
Emma snorted at Killian’s side at Liam's words and he was about to reply, but then he realized that Elsa had looked away as her lips curled into a thinly concealed smile. He followed her gaze, seeing that what Elsa was watching was his hand and Emma's, which had remained entwined since they left the stage.
That didn’t seem to matter to Emma since she made no attempt to free her hand, so he ventured, giving her a slight squeeze, while his thumb brushed her palm. Far from pushing him away, she turned her gaze to him, her lips drawing a small smile, matching his own. He then looked at his brother, who was giving him a penetrating look that contained a special glow. He could also notice that Liam nodded almost imperceptibly. It was as if he were telling him, without needing to express it aloud, that he was following the right path on his journey to win Emma's heart.
//
Two hours later, all the customers had left The Kraken with the exception of Elsa, who had even helped them clean up after closing. Ruby and Robin had also left the premises, so there were only the four of them left, a picture that was becoming quite common lately, something that he didn't mind at all.
They were now sitting at the bar sharing shots to celebrate another successful night. It was nice to share these moments of camaraderie with the most important people in his life. The addition of Elsa to the small group was an incentive, as it had been like a breath of fresh air, giving them the opportunity to carry on new experiences.
And that was what they were talking about at that moment, about the new idea Elsa had suggested as a plan to hang out together. The idea of going ice-skating at an outdoor artificial ice rink that was open during the winter hadn’t seemed too attractive at first. Killian had barely skated previously and felt a bit clumsy in that aspect. But little by little, he began to see the advantages of the plan. Since both he and Emma seemed to have the same level of clumsiness, perhaps they would have to hold on to each other to avoid falling to the ground.
Yes, it was definitely not a bad idea. Not at all.
"I'm not sure I like that plan." Emma, sitting next to him, didn’t seem so convinced. "I mean, it's freezing outside, and I don't want to fall on the ice. Just thinking about it makes me shiver." She groaned as she crossed her arms and rubbed them with both her hands as if she wanted to warm herself up. Her lips pursed into a pout that was meant to show annoyance, but which Killian found adorable.
"Oh, come on, Emma, we'll have a good time. Don't be afraid of falling. Besides, exercise will make you warm up quicker," Elsa encouraged her.
"Well, guys, I don't know about you, but I'm starving. What do you say if we close and go to the restaurant next door? You're coming with us, aren't you, Elsa?" Killian raised an eyebrow at hearing his brother refer to Elsa directly. He didn’t want to get his hopes up, but all this looked promising.
That's how they ended up at a twenty-four-hour restaurant eating pizza at two in the morning. They chose a booth away from the entrance, with Elsa and Liam sitting together on one side, while Emma and Killian were on the other side. Sleep seemed to have abandoned them all despite the hour, no one was in a hurry to go to bed. Instead, they chatted nonchalantly about any subject that went through their heads, making the half-empty premises fill with their voices and laughter.
At some point, Killian put his arm around Emma's shoulders as she placed her hand on his thigh, close to his knee. It was an innocent gesture, just a display of affection between two close friends. He was aware, though, that the image they gave to the rest of the people was quite different. Anyone who saw them that way would think of them as a couple. But as long as he could maintain that confidence and closeness with Emma, he couldn’t care less what people might think about it.
What he had with Emma now was so precious that he wasn't going to risk losing it by acting hastily. He had the impression that Emma might feel more for him than a simple friendship, especially if he compared it to her relationship with Liam, the other person closest to her. However, her fear of ending with a broken heart again kept her paralyzed.
He just had to be patient and show her again and again that he wasn't going anywhere. And these new opportunities offered by both his brother and Elsa were bringing them closer. For that reason, the plan to go skating was so attractive. It was the perfect excuse to maintain the physical contact between them, something to which he found more and more difficult to resist himself.
Perhaps if he added an incentive to the experience, it would improve even more. The corners of his lips rose slightly as an idea settled on his head. "What do you think, guys, if we make a bet?"
The three of them looked at Killian with the same expression of confusion on their faces. Once he got their attention, he continued.
"The first to fall to the ground tomorrow will have to pay for a round of drinks for the others."
The first to react was Elsa, who smirked while rubbing her hands together. "I like that idea. I know that no matter what happens, I'm going to get free drinks tomorrow."
Liam, though, didn’t seem so convinced. "We aren't especially skilled in this matter. I don’t get the point. It's very likely that the first thing that happens as soon as any of us step on the ice is that we fall."
"You know I like a challenge, brother. What do you say, Swan? Are you aiming to get this idiot to buy us some drinks?" As he spoke, he held his arm even more tightly around her shoulders, drawing her closer to him.
"Yeah, we're gonna beat you, Liam."
"Hey, that's not fair. This is supposed to be an individual competition and you two have already allied against me," Liam grumbled, frowning as he pointed to both of them.
"Don’t complain, you have an expert to help you stand up. You're going to help my clumsy brother, aren't you, Elsa?" Killian cocked his head slightly, his teasing words disguised in an innocent tone.
Elsa's cheeks flushed furiously, raising Killian's suspicions that something between them could come up. He would be glad if that happened. Liam had been so focused on taking care of him in the first place and then running the business and trying to keep it afloat that he had barely had time for himself. Elsa was perfect for him, sweet and calm but with great determination. Maybe Emma was right and they just needed a little push…
Liam's sigh brought him back to reality. He seemed to have resigned himself because then he held up his beer. "Okay, do we have a deal?"
Everyone toasted as a way to close the deal. The friendly talk still went on for a while. Killian hoped the next day's plan would bring them at least as good a time as they had experienced today.
//
It was a cold, Sunday afternoon. Killian adjusted the beanie he wore to protect himself from the cold and rubbed his hands together in an attempt to warm himself. He could feel his fingers were almost frozen despite the protection of his gloves. The idea of ice-skating was no longer so appealing to him, especially as the cold filtered through his bones as he waited for the lasses. They were late.
"There they are, at last." His brother gave Killian a nudge to catch his attention as he pointed to them.
Bloody hell. Emma was impressive on that Sunday afternoon. She wore a beanie, her golden hair falling in curls and framing her features. Her cheeks had a rosy hue, her bright eyes and her gleaming smile were enough to warm both his body and his heart.
The two brothers greeted the two friends with kisses on their cheeks. After a brief chat, they all approached the skating rink and slipped on their skates. The moment his feet came into contact with the ground, he had to cling to the railing to avoid falling. Bloody hell, this was going to be more complicated than it seemed at first. How on earth would he stand on only two blades on that slippery rink?
Killian looked around; both Liam and Emma had the same problem keeping their balance. Emma's expression even showed a little panic. Fortunately, Elsa soon came to their rescue. Since she was the expert on the subject, she stood before them, prepared to give them a little lesson. Elsa taught them the basic motions, showing infinite patience to their endless questions and reassuring all their fears. Killian listened attentively, feeling somehow like one of the children Elsa taught to skate. He was willing to absorb everything she could offer him if that would help him stay up long enough not to be the first to fall.
"Okay guys, so far we’ve only done the theory. Now let's start practicing slowly. You two look at our movements," Elsa said to the two brothers. Though her words held their usual soft tone, she imprinted a touch of firmness in her voice. "Emma, come with me."
"What? Why me?" Emma cringed a bit at his side, her panicked expression became more evident.
"Come on, don’t be afraid. I won’t let you down." Elsa's soft, reassuring voice seemed to have an effect on Emma. When Elsa held out her hand to her, she seemed hesitant at first, but then grabbed her friend's hand firmly.
That's my girl, he thought with pride. The two women moved in front of them, Emma emulating Elsa's movements as she tried to keep her balance. The addition of Emma to this kind of masterclass was an incentive, no doubt, since it was the perfect excuse for him to observe her carefully. Once Elsa made sure that the three of them had assimilated the basics it was time to move to the next level. She offered Emma her hand again. "Now let's skate a bit through the skating rink. Slowly, just so you can gain confidence, okay?"
Emma nodded hesitantly but gripped Elsa's hand firmly. Both began to move away with slow movements at first, Elsa holding Emma's hand as she did her best to move without falling.
Slowly, Emma was gaining confidence in her movements, adding a little more speed as she slid down the rink. Killian couldn’t take his eyes off her, following her every move. He felt bewitched by her rosy cheeks just as much from the exercise as from the cold of their surroundings; by her hair dancing in the wind as she moved. And by her smile, hesitant at first, but that was widening as her confidence increased. She was a goddess and she seemed to perform a show just for him.
At least it was what he deduced when he realized that Emma took any opportunity to look for his eyes, her gaze so intense that it could take his breath away.
"Close your mouth little brother." His brother's voice filled with amusement brought him out of his reverie.
He finally turned his gaze from Emma and fixed it on Liam as he mumbled. "I don’t know about you, but I'm trying to learn not to be the first to fall. The bet is still up, older brother." His lips curled into a smirk as his eyebrow rose defiantly.
Liam snorted at his side but didn’t reply to him. They both continued to stare at the ladies in silence. A few minutes later, the two lasses skated in their direction, both of them clearly excited as they approached.
Maybe it was the speed or maybe Emma still didn’t have complete control on the skates at all. Regardless, the truth was that she rushed directly at him with so much momentum that Killian had to hold onto her with one hand and cling to the railing with the other to avoid both of them ending up on the ground.
"Easy, Swan. You don’t want us to lose the bloody bet before we start playing."
"Whoa, it's been incredible." Emma made no attempt to move away from him, to Killian's satisfaction. It was a delight to see her with that level of emotion, vibrating in his arms.
"Okay, next level." After catching her breath, Elsa continued. "Since Emma is no longer a beginner, I'm going to take Liam now, while you, Killian, let Emma guide you. Remember, guys, it's important to keep the balance point; don't lean your weight on the other person, use your joined hands as support to keep your balance. And don't be afraid, let yourself go and have fun!”
Killian had to admit that he had some respect for the ice. He had always preferred water in its liquid state and found it much less dangerous to sail in a rough sea than to slip on the damn slippery ice. But he liked a challenge. He had set a clear goal, that he and Emma would stand for longer than Liam. And, if to beat his brother he had to skate, so be it.
"What do you say, love? Do we show these two what we can do together?" As he spoke, he offered her his hand and she took it with determination and a smile drawn on her face.
"Sure, let's go."
Emma grabbed his hand and they began to move, moving away from the safety offered by the railing. It was much more difficult than he imagined; he had to make great efforts to avoid falling to the ground. Still, having Emma by his side was an incentive as she managed to convey the confidence he needed to keep moving.
They began to move faster, the grip on the ice felt firmer, and Emma's support helped keep his balance. Once overcoming his initial fears, Killian found himself enjoying the experience more than he imagined at first.
The initial cold he felt was gone. The mixture of exercise and seeing Emma with that carefree, happy expression as she gripped his hand while occasionally smirking confidently, was enough to warm him.
Killian looked for his brother and found him a few steps ahead of them as he tried, and almost failed, to keep his balance. Despite Elsa's help, Liam didn’t seem to be having a particularly good time. He moved his free hand up and down, unable to control his body on the skates. Killian's lips curled into a smirk. It was only a matter of time before Liam fell to the ice.
After a few minutes, the self-confidence he felt was such that he dared to let go of Emma for a few seconds. She wanted to take a picture —how not?—, so she let go of his hand while looking for her phone and skated away a few steps to get a better angle. After taking a couple of photos, she came up to him again, with somewhat hesitant movements as Killian reached out and pulled her to him. He held her in his arms as they regained their balance. When they found their stability again, Emma held up her phone to take a couple of selfies of the two of them together, immortalizing the great moment they were experiencing.
"It's my turn now, Swan. Hold on there for a moment." Killian felt the need to take a picture of Emma to capture the joy they both were feeling. He skated slowly, moving away from her, took his phone out of his pocket, and took a few photos, capturing the image of Emma all excited, vibrant, and joyful.
Just as he began to approach her again, something happened that froze his heart and paralyzed him completely. Killian watched in horror as a damn reckless guy swooped past Emma at full speed, causing her to fall to the ground, her head and shoulder slamming into the icy surface.
"Emma!" A gasp escaped his throat as he staggered, suddenly feeling the damn skates as an obstacle to reaching her. When he finally got to where Emma lay on the ground, Killian knelt, his gaze traveling frantically over her face to determine her condition. "Emma, love, are you alright?" He didn’t bother to hide the worry in his voice. It was at that moment that he discovered she was bleeding through an open wound just above her left eyebrow.
Emma looked confused, but fortunately, she hadn’t lost consciousness. She tried to sit up, but a wince of pain crossed her face as she reached for her left arm. "Shit, my shoulder hurts like hell."
"Do you think you can get up, love? You're going to get frozen on that bloody ice." Killian realized that it was hard for Emma to fix her gaze, so his worry grew, his heart caught in his throat.
Liam and Elsa arrived at that moment, Elsa kneeling at his side with concern marked on her face. "What happened?" Without waiting for an answer, she continued. "We have to get her out of here, her clothes are soaking from the ice. Liam, can you help us?"
When Killian looked up at his brother, his gaze met the damn asshole that had caused the problem. He was a little away talking to a group of people, totally oblivious to what he himself had caused, laughing and having a good time. The sight of the unconcerned dude in contrast to Emma's pitiful situation was too much for him.
A sudden rage seized Killian, clouding his reason. "I'm going to kill that asshole," he mumbled as he sat up abruptly, arms on both sides of his body, his hands curled into fists and his jaw clenched. He felt an urgent need to discharge all of his fury and worry in the form of a punch to the face of that guy with the aim of erasing his stupid grin.
Just as he was moving toward the guy, something slowed him. His brother seemed to see his intentions, because he reached him in an instant, his firm grip on his arm preventing his advance and causing him to turn. "Hey, Killian, look at me."
Killian forced himself to take two deep breaths, trying to calm his inner rage. Reluctant at first, he finally looked at his brother. When Liam seemed sure of getting his attention, he began to speak in a slow voice. "Believe me, brother, I'm the first one who wants to go for the guy who's harmed Emma, but we have a priority. She needs you now."
The mere mention of Emma’s name was all he needed to come to reason again. He took a deep breath once more, trying to slow his racing heart, letting his fury fade away. Killian nodded then and knelt, taking his previous place beside Emma.
He searched her gaze for any hint of her condition. She looked back at him, but her eyes had lost all of their previous vivacity. "Emma, let's get you up. Do you think you can walk?" She nodded in silence, the corner of her lip raised slightly in an attempt of a tiny smile.
Killian's heart broke when he saw her in that state. A few minutes earlier she was full of life and now she was barely able to stay conscious. It was as if the fall had drained all her energy. Although his inner rage still persisted, he tried to put all his efforts into ensuring her well-being.
They managed to get her off the rink and reached a nearby bench. Emma had started to shiver, so he didn’t hesitate and took off his coat, something that took longer than desired since his trembling fingers refused to cooperate. He then put it over her shoulders while rubbing her arms in an attempt to warm her up.
Elsa was trying to plug the wound over her eyebrow, but this one was still bleeding and from the grimace on Emma's face it looked like her shoulder was still aching. They had to take her to the hospital.
He searched her gaze again. "Emma, love, we're going to take you to the ER, so they can check your shoulder and head, okay?"
She nodded again and finally spoke, her voice coming out as barely a murmur through a small smile. "It seems that I lost the challenge and it’s my turn to buy you all a round of drinks."
A wave of affection swept over Killian, along with an almost irrepressible desire to take her in his arms. He felt unable to hide his feelings and at that moment, he couldn't care less.

1 MONTH LATER
It was 1PM now and Mila refreshed her e-mail again, but no new mails were received from yesterday, at least not from the sender who has been sending at least one every day for the past month. Since she hasn't replied to any of them she though thath maybe he finally gave up and the thought of that made her a bit sad, immature since she never replied and could expect this result, but nonetheless sad. She clicked on the first mail she received one month ago.
Do you ever want to turn back time? I do and if I could do that, I would go to the night I first saw you, grab your hand and never let go.
I feel how hurt you are deep down and I know that I'm responsible for that, let me make things right, please.
Whenever you are ready to talk or to listen, I will be here. One word and I'll come running to you.
I will be waiting, no matter how long it takes.
 Yours forever,
Henry
Her next click was a random one, the one she received late at night.
Do you know how many times I had to do retakes today because I couldn't stop smiling?
I don't know what you did today, but feeling your happiness... That was the best thing I've ever felt.
 Eternally yours,
Henry
She opened the last one she received yesterday morning.
Some things are inevitable, no matter how hard you fight them, they will happen.
I can't wait for us to happen.
Yours till the end of time,
Henry
Mila refreshed the mail for nothing once again before closing her mail. That didn't sound like goodbye. She dialed marketing department, getting back in her work mode. "Hey, Kim, you were in charge for today's Hugo Boss perfume promotion on the rooftop, right? Let's go check if everything is okay." Why does it even matter even if it was a goodbye? What is wrong with you?
"I don't know why they chose us 4 days prior to promotion, but we got so much free promotion, it's insane." Kim commented as the two of them waited for the elevator to reach the rooftop deck.
"That's good, websites already posted photos?" Mila fidgeted her phone.
"Most of the major ones. God bless Henry Cavill and Boss for choosing him as the face of their new perfume."
Mila pressed a lower floor button frantically but it was too late. "Why didn't you tell me this earlier?"
"I'm sorry, but you usually don't require such information." Kim was surprised by her harsh tone and panicked reaction. Elevator doors binged, announcing that the doors were about to open and Kim stepped out as soon as they did.
Mila's initial plan was to stay in the elevator and go down, but as soon as Kim was out, Mila's eyes locked with Henry's and she didn't want him to see her running away, so she stepped out too. She felt a rush of happiness coming from him and she immediately tried to block it, but it wasn't possible since he was so close.
One of his hands was in his pocked and he held a glass of whiskey in the other one, he was engaged in a conversation, but he stopped in an instant when he saw Mila. He excused himself and walked over to her. "I hoped you would come." He made no intention to touch her, no matter how much he wanted to.
"Kim, please, give me a minute." Kim disappeared in the crowd right away. No matter how hurt Mila was, she could never deny how handsome Henry was, especially now that he was standing in front of her, with his longish locks flying in the wind. He had a scrub and she was never a fan of it, but he pulled it off. In fact, she was sure he could pull off any look. "I didn't know you'd be here. No e-mails today?" Her eyes traveled over his broad shoulders, down to his forearms which were visible thanks to his rolled up sleeves.
"I knew I'd get a chance to talk to you in person today." One step towards her and his body was almost pressed to hers. He closed his eyes, taking a deep breath through his nose, taking in the scent of her hair.
"How did you know that?" Mila's eyes locked with his when he opened them.
"Because I'd come to you if you didn't come to me." He felt the urge to rub his cheek over hers, to kiss her breath away, to run hands all over her body, he wanted to rip off the dress she was wearing, imagining fucking her while she only had her heels on.
"Did you have anything to do with my hotel being the chosen venue today?"
"They had a mishap with the initial venue, so I simply suggested your hotel when I found out about that." All the positions in which he wanted to have her flashed in front of his eyes, but he wanted to fall asleep in her arms after that way more.
Flashes coming from everywhere made Mila uncomfortable, but she was partially hidden by a big plant and partially by Henry and they could only get fragments of her body if they were lucky. "Thank you." She stepped back and offered him her hand to shake as she felt a sudden urge for physical contact.
Instead of shaking her hand, a glass of whiskey remained in his right hand and with his left one he engulfed her elbow, urging her to lower her arm, so his fingers could find a way to hers, traveling via her forearm. When they reached their destination, he entwined them, not taking his eyes off hers. "There is nothing for you to thank me for."
Henry put his glass on a pot of the plan that was wide enough for the glass not to fall over. He stepped closer again and took her other hand too, sending shivers down her spine. "Reporters."
"Who cares?" His lips lowered to her ear level and hot air washed over it. "I'm yours, always remember that."
Her heart started racing and she pulled away her hands. "I have to get back at work." She walked to the elevator and he remained in spot.
"When will I see you again?" Henry kept his lower lip between his teeth.
"I don't know, I'm sorry, I can't."
"Okay."
Mila looked at the floor until the doors closed. What the hell was that? What am I doing?
Mila couldn't focus on anything in the following days, she had to check every report five times, she didn't even remember about what they talked in meetings, she was completely useless. Going on a vacation on Saturday would be her way out of this mind cluster, she was grateful to herself that she picked this date as the start of her vacation 2 months ago.
She was glad that it was finally Friday - the end of the work week, but also Ruth's birthday. She wasn't a fan of clubs, but dancing was a good way to let out some steam and it would be a good distraction. She put on a short purple dress with wide straps, it hugged her body perfectly. The shoes of her choice were golden sandals with high thin heels and thin straps.
When she arrived, only Ruth and Blake were already there, she arrived early as he had an early flight in the morning and couldn't stay long. She hugged and showered her best friend with kisses , wishing her happy birthday. Ruth pretended to be surprised Mila's gift even though she picked it herself and knew exactly what she was going to get.
Soon their friends started arriving and some of Ruth's coworkers, all of them were people Mila saw on every occasion related to Ruth. A few drinks later and everyone was dancing in the booth. Ruth was already tipsy because she started drinking when she arrived and she kept hugging Ruth as they swayed in the rhythm of music. "Let's go to the dance floor."
It was too crowded and Mila didn't think it was a good idea. "Why? It's nice over here."
"Because it's my birthday." Ruth dragged her to the center of the floor. "See, it's better here."
Sweaty bodies jumped and danced everywhere around her, so Mila joined them, not letting go of Ruth's hand. After a few songs, most of the group joined them, so she didn't pay much attention when someone put a hand over her shoulder, thinking it was one of them, but when it started sliding down, she abruptly turned around, slamming into Henry. "Hey, gorgeous."
"What are you doing here?" They screamed at each others ears and even like that they barely heard each other. What are the chances?
"I came here with some friends," he pointed to a booth in a corner across from theirs. Mila looked at the group of people who were oblivious that she was looking at them. Ruth was right, if he came alone, that would be too obvious. "Are you out with your friends?"
"Yes, it's Ruth's birthday." She pointed at her and Henry walked over to Ruth, kissing her cheek, wishing her a happy birthday from what Mila could tell. Ruth gave Henry a slight satisfied nod he made sure to turn his back on Mila so he could thank Ruth for coming up with this idea.
When he made his way back to Mila, he took her hand and spun her around once. "I hope you don't mind if I join you."
When Henry spun her, her hand landed over his heart in order for her to keep balance. She pulled it away, but Henry quickly grabbed it, placing it where it rested before she removed it, covering it with his much larger palm. "I really hate you, don't you know that?"
Henry clasped his hand over hers and started moving them away from the dance floor, Mila silently followed. He greeted a security guard and he let them pass into a closed part of the club, where music volume was much lower. He gently pushed her against a wall, his hands resting on her hips and her breath hitched. "No, you don't. I know that you don't."
A knot formed in Mila's stomach, but she relaxed in his touch. He lowered himself enough to move the tip of his nose over the length of hers up and down, he freed one of her hips, only so he could place it on her cheek, his lips separated from hers by a millimeter. "Don't"
His eyes opened abruptly: "Okay." He put his lips over both of her eyes and the both of her temples.
Mila's hands were clutching his t-shirt and jeans fabric was pressed on outer sides of her legs. "I have an early flight tomorrow."
"Are you going on a vacation?" He continued trailing kisses over her face.
"Yes."
"Can I join you?" Henry put just a tip an index finger below the hem of her dress, creating small patterns on her thigh.
"Only if you manage to figure out where I am." She chose this answer instead of a blatant no because she was sure that he couldn't figure out  a small coastal Italian city where she will be staying for two weeks.

Sexy Little Me
This is how Hollywood turns a pretty Texas girl into Sharon Tate, the star.
By John Bowers for "The Saturday Evening Post"
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
1. Two of Sharon Tate's three pictures have been produced in Europe. Although Texas-born, Sharon spent her adolescence abroad, and much prefers London to Hollywood.
2. Sharon will be shown off to American audiences for the first time in DON’T MAKE WAVES. On the set, she reacts prettily to a compliment from co-star Tony Curtis.
3. At 6 months Sharon won Dallas’ “Miss Tiny Tot” award.
4. Portraying a Las Vegas showgirl who becomes a superstar in VALLEY OF THE DOLLS, Sharon had to wear a 10-pound jeweled headdress which “gave her a headache.”
5. This picture of Sharon and her father, Maj. Paul Tate, at a 1965 Fort MacArthur party is from a large “family events” scrapbook that Sharon dutifully keeps.
6. Relaxing on the set of YOUR TEETH IN MY NECK, Sharon listens attentively as the Polish-born Polanski explains how she can improve her performance in the next scene.
May 6, 1967 – Sharon Tate had finished her last scenes for The Vampire Killers (later to be called Your Teeth in My Neck), and had no film work for the moment. At 95 Eaton Mews West, London, she moved about in the late afternoon looking for something to do. She sat Buddah-style on the living room floor and put on fake eyelashes, one eyelash at a time. She worried that a sunlamp treatment, taken a few hours before, was going to make red cracks in her face. “Doesn’t it seem to be getting all red on the cheeks? Look close now.”
She wore a gray sweat suit and furry boots, having been to her daily gym class that afternoon. She didn’t like the gym class, but Roman Polanski, her director, had told her she must go. She frowned into a hand mirror, thinking she saw a red streak. She started to bite a fingernail, but stopped. Roman had forbidden any more fingernail biting; she had a tendency to bite them down to the nub. She went to the refrigerator, and amidst Wyborowa vodka and Carlsberg beer, brought out the makings for a salami sandwich. She would not drink a beer because it might bloat her, and Roman was taking her out for dinner.
There was no place in the apartment for her to settle back and relax now. Everything inside had a transient look, as if the tenants would only be there a short season. A complicated stereo set sat on crates; Bach on top of a stack of records, Cannonball Adderly on the bottom. There were no pictures, no pets, no cozy heat. Upstairs on the wall was a framed citation stating that Knife In The Water under the direction of Roman Polanski had been nominated for an Academy Award. As Sharon reached for a folder of still photographs from The Vampire Killers to show a male visitor, she stuck up her bottom in a way she has; as she went through the photos, she pooched out her bosom. But she did it by reflex. Her thoughts were totally on her director, who was not there. She had been in three unreleased films – 13, Don’t Make Waves and The Vampire Killers, all with different directors.
If she caught the public’s fancy in any of these pictures, she would become a movie star. And she was pleased with her work in The Vampire Killers. She was in a nude bathtub scene in it, and in a brief sequence in which she got spanked.
The phone rang; it was a strange female voice with a French accent. “Is Roman there?”
“No, I’m sorry he isn’t,” Sharon said, in her accent of the moment, which was English. “Who shall I say is calling, please?”
“Oh – I just wondered if he were in. Tell him Barbara. Thank you very much..”
The dull London afternoon turned dark, and still no Polanski. He could be cutting The Vampire Killers, or he could be tied up in London traffic or he could be sitting in a café. She took off her furry boots and put her feet into his house slippers, which rested at odd angels by a mammoth bed that cost over $600. The slippers were far too big for her. She wondered if tonight she would be thrown with people who would overwhelm her with their wit, their awesome knowledge, their self-confidence. When she was out in public with Roman, she never felt adequate enough to open her mouth. She could only talk to him alone. Her problem was that she had always been beautiful, and people were forever losing themselves in fantasy over her – electing her a beauty queen, imagining her as a wife, dreaming of a caress. Most people had fantasies. But a few people, like Polanski, took charge.
At the age of six months Sharon Tate was elected Miss Tiny Tot of Dallas, Tex. Her mother had sent in photos of the beautiful baby to contest officials. Sharon’s father was (and is) in the Regular Army, and was then stationed in Dallas. (Both her parents are natives of Houston.) As Sharon grew up, the family moved around in Army style, her father frequently absent from home. She remembers that when her father would return from an overseas tour, and she had reached a nubile age, her mother’s first command would be, “Now you, Sharon Marie, button up that night gown when you come out of your bedroom. Daddy’s home.” Her father was very strict with her as she budded through adolescence, turning thumbs down on potential boyfriends and making her stay in nights. He was very strong and knew how to take charge.
But most people continued to do things for Sharon without her lifting a finger. At 16 she was elected Miss Richland, Washington, and a short time later named Miss Autorama. At the age of 17 she was in Verona, Italy, where her father was stationed, and the prizes mounted. At Vicenza American High she was a cheerleader and baton twirler, and was chosen Homecoming Queen and Queen of the Senior Prom. The Vicenza yearbook for 1961 shows her as a very pretty, large-eyed girl, with hair somewhat darker and hips a little broader than now. She daydreamed at this time about becoming a psychiatrist and a ballerina, and had little to do with her classmates. Yet if any far-out stunts or fads were proposed, this terribly quiet girl was ready to lead the way. “If miniskirts had come in then, ” she says, “I’d have worn the shortest one.”
Today the fad among young girls in cosmopolitan circles is to use the old Anglo-Saxon words in everyday conversation, and Sharon Tate leads the way. But back in Italy at 17, she was just starting her worldly knowledge. She watched the on-location shooting of Barabbas, a film about ancient Rome, and the family scrapbook now includes still pictures of Jack Palance and Anthony Quinn in the movie costumers they wore in Italy. As she walked in Venice one day, she was spotted by the choreographer for the Pat Boone Show, which was being filmed in Italy. She next appeared very briefly in one of Boone’s TV shows, and his glossy smiling face now rests in the album with a fond inscription for Sharon.
When the Tate family moved from Italy to Southern California, Sharon decided it was time to live on her own. She was 18, and she paid a visit to Harold Gefsky, then agent for Richard Beymer, a young actor she met in Rome. “She was so young and beautiful,” Gefsky, a softly-spoken man, said in his Sunset Boulevard office, “that I didn’t know what to do with her. I think the first thing I did was take her to a puppet show.”
He also got her work because her father, in Calvinistic style, had only given her a few dollars to sink or swim. One of her first jobs was dressing up in an Irish costume and handing out Kelly-Kalani wine in Los Angeles restaurants at $25 a day. She also appeared in TV commercials for Chevy cars and Santa Fe cigars. People who knew her during this period agree on one thing. She was the most beautiful girl in the world. “Everywhere I took her she caused a sensation,” Gefsky said. “I would take her into a restaurant and the owner would pay for her meal. Photographers kept stopping her on the street. I’ve lived in Hollywood since the mid-Forties, but I’ve never seen anything like it before or since.”
But at this point no one, except perhaps Sharon, knew if she wanted to be an actress. Then one day Gefsky took her by to meet his friend Herbert Browar, who was connected with TV’s Petticoat Junction. He thought possibly Browar could fix her up with a minor role, something to tide her over. Browar took one look at her and rushed her in to see Martin Ransohoff, head of Filmways, Inc.
Ransohoff has a strand of hair combed over his bald dome. He wears loose sweaters, torn windbreakers and breeches that are baggy in the seat. He first started producing TV commercials in New York when food particles were glued onto Brand X’s plate to show the differences in detergents. He branched out into TV programs with such commercial winners as Mr. Ed, The Beverly Hillbillies and Petticoat Junction. He then tackled movies on the order of The Americanization of Emily and The Loved One, which got mixed reviews but generally made money. He founded the company in 1952 on $200, and today it operates on a budget of over $35 million. He will talk about Oswald Spengler or H. L. Mencken and then croon into his ever-present phone, “Helloooo, Bertie, baby. Where’s the action, kid?” He chews gum till his head rings, smokes two packs a day and sends everyone to the wall with his adrenaline. He can be gratuitously cruel in speaking of others – “She’s got a lunch pail for a mouth,” he said of an aging actress, “and if we take out insurance on her, it’ll have to be that she’ll die.” Then he can take his twin sons to a football game, clean up a dog’s mess in his Bel Air living room, and talk to anyone in the world who has guts enough to call him. A rich man’s son, he sold pots and pans from door to door while going to Colgate and claims the experience taught him what the public will or will not buy. He had little interest in films before he became involved in them, and his favorite actress in the old days was Deanna Durbin – who, coincidentally, was also Polanski’s favorite. Both vividly remember her pedaling a bicycle down a shady street and singing through a dimpled smile. Not everyone has had pleasant dealings with Ransohoff in Hollywood, but all agree he is a super salesman.
When he first saw Sharon Tate, he squinted his right eye and did something that was very impulsive, even for him. “Draw up a contract,” he shouted. “Get her mother. Get my lawyer. This is the girl I want!”
He had not seen a screen test, not even a still photograph. She had hardly opened her mouth. But Marty Ransohoff, like the rest of us, has his fantasies – and Sharon Tate walked into one of his fondest ones. “I have this dream,” Ransohoff said, “where I’ll discover a beautiful girl who’s a nobody and turn her into a star that everybody wants. I’ll do it like L. B. Mayer used to, only better. But once she’s successful, then I’ll loose interest. That’s how my dream goes. I don’t give two cents now for Tuesday Weld or Ann-Margret..”
“I think he’s just trying to pull one over on the public,” Gefsky said.
Sharon signed a seven-year contract, and Ransohoff took charge. Gefsky, a nice man, bowed out. At first she lived in complete fear of Ransohoff, and did as she was told. “She wouldn’t even eat a hamburger if he told her not to,” a friend from that period said. If Ransohoff said she was to appear on The Beverly Hillbillies disguised in a black wig, she appeared. If he told her to go on a moments notice to Big Sur, New York, London, she went. Off and on she studied acting.
Jeff Corey, one acting coach, said, “An incredibly beautiful girl, but a fragmented personality. I tried to get reactions out of her, though. Once I even gave her a stick, and said, ‘Hit me, do something, show emotion’ ..If you can’t tap who you are, you can never act.”
Charles Conrad, another acting teacher, said, “Such a beautiful girl, you would have thought she would have all the confidence in the world. But she had none.” Among her friends, however, she began to refer to herself as “sexy little me.”
Ransohoff tried to place Sharon in The Cincinnati Kid – his own movie – but failed when the director demanded Tuesday Weld. He packed her off to New York to study under the personal direction of Lee Strasberg at the Actors Studio. “She was only with me a few weeks,” Strasberg said, “but I remember her. She was a beautiful girl.” In New York Sharon had a romance with a young French star, who offered her relief from her Texas style, Puritan upbringing. The actor was tall, dark and very nice. When they broke up, the actor bungled a suicide attempt.
Sharon continued to fear Ransohoff. Once, while driving at a high speed near Big Sur, she turned her car over four and a half times, but somehow managed to crawl out with only minor injuries. Her first thought was that Marty would be mad. The first picture he finally placed her in was his French made 13, in which she plays a chillingly beautiful, expressionless girl who goes about putting the hex on people. Completed many months ago, ’13’ still rests in the can waiting for a 1967 release date. Ransohoff flew Sharon back to Hollywood for her second film, Don’t Make Waves, in which she plays a beautiful, deadpan skydiver. Sharon’s first two directors were older men. Britishers – very polite, very nice and understanding with a novice actress.
And then Ransohoff began dickering with Roman Polanski, the Polish director living in London, to make a picture. Polanski, a tiny, baby-faced man whose explosive manner and Beatle-like appearance belie his much-admired skill as a maker of art films, wanted to do something with Ransohoff called The Vampire Killers, a spoof of horror movies. He wanted to play in it himself, and, as in all his movies, he wanted a beautiful girl in a supporting role.
“How about Sharon Tate?” Ransohoff said. “I was thinking more in terms of Jill St. John,” Polanski said.
At Ransohoff’s instigation, Sharon and Polanski had dinner together. He looked at her from time to time, but said nothing. On a second dinner date he was painfully silent once more. Real weirdo, she thought. What’s he waiting on? She found out shortly. Walking in London’s Eaton Square, he suddenly put a bear hug on her and they fell to the ground, Polanski on the bottom. Sharon clouted him and stormed off. “That’s the craziest nut I ever saw,” she said. “I’ll never work for him.”
But Polanski apologized, and they saw each other again. One night he took her to his apartment which had even less furniture than it has now and no electricity. He lit a candle and excused himself, flying upstairs to don a Frankenstein mask. He crept up behind her, raised his arms, and whinnied like a madman. Sharon turned and emitted a terrible scream. It took over an hour for her hysterical weeping to subside. Not long afterward Polanski informed Ransohoff that Sharon would do fine for The Vampire Killers. On the set he treated her as if they never saw each other at night. He cajoled, flattered, got angry – which ever worked – and never had lunch with her. During the nude bathtub scene, he snapped still pictures of her. Still enthusiastic, he had her pose all over the set in the altogether, and then sent the results to Playboy. She plays a gorgeous redhead in The Vampire Killers – and she shows
Roman Polanski walked into his apartment in a sharp blue blazer and high-gloss shoes, carrying a briefcase. He had a good-sized nose and searching, deep-set eyes, and he nodded briskly to Sharon. “A Barbara called,” she let out daintily. “Do you know who that could be?”
“A Barbara?” he called from the kitchen, out of sight. A pause. “You didn’t get any last name? Always get last names. I don’t know any Barbara that would be calling. Sharon, Sharon. There’s no liquor here. Always see to it that we have enough whisky. Can’t you do that?”
Sharon went on the phone to order some, worrying about which brands to specify. She didn’t want to be embarrassed by asking Roman – although he would certainly tell her. He knew the correct whiskey brands in London, the good pastrami places in Manhattan, and the right topless spots in Hollywood. He learned a country’s customs and its language in a couple of weeks. He took a bath now upstairs, calling down for Sharon to fetch him some tea. Later he descended the stairs in a cowboy outfit and boots, ready for dinner. Some movie friends had shown up, and he led the party on foot toward Alvaro’s restaurant.
At the restaurant Sharon basked in the eyes that roved over her. She listened big-eyed to Polanski explain the difference between the sun’s heat and that on earth, apropos of Truffaut’s Fahrenheit 451. The only trouble was that it was difficult to digest pasta in such a giddy atmosphere, and she complained of her stomach. After Polanski figured out how to work the waiter’s ballpoint pen, he signed the check.
In a dreamlike state, Sharon began slipping into her fox fur coat in the foyer. Suddenly, out of nowhere, a tall Englishman with a prep-school tie and large teeth popped up and put his arm around her. “Ummm, you have a sexy feel, love. Don’t we all love to touch you now..” She squirmed away.
Out on the street, she said, “Roman, a complete stranger began hugging me in there.”
“Yeah? Really?” A short distance away he suddenly spied a blond in fox fur who had the same duck walk that Sharon has. “Hey, there goes Sharon,” he said. “Let’s get her and put the two of them together!”
“Don’t you dare,” she said, her anger flashing. Another day, away from Sharon, Polanski said, “I’m trying to get her to be a little meaner, She’s too nice, and she doesn’t believe in her beauty. Once when I was very poor in Poland I had got some beautiful shoes, and I immediately became very ashamed of them. All my friends had plain, ordinary shoes, and I was embarrassed to walk in front of them. That’s how Sharon feels about her beauty. She’s embarrassed by it.”
Sharon has a quarter-inch scar under her left eye and one beside the eye, the result of accidents which she keeps having. As Polanski drove with her one night in London, meticulously keeping on the left in the custom of the land, an Englishman with a couple of pints under his belt hit him from the right. The only one hurt was Sharon, whose head bounced off the dashboard, spraying blood on slacks, boots and fur. An angry red wound appeared at the start of her scalp, and it will leave another whitish scar on her head. With blond hair combed down over her forehead to hide it, she skied at St. Moritz. And then she caught a jet for Hollywood because Ransohoff had called. She must redo a few scenes for Don’t Make Waves. She grumbled a little. She found she could grumble to Ransohoff now. She hated Hollywood, and she didn’t want to leave Polanski. Also, she hated to fly. She had to be drugged to endure it.
And then she appeared beside Ransohoff at La Scala restaurant in Beverly Hills. She had a black costume that looked more like a slip than a dress, and her blond head caught glints of movie-star light as she turned this way and that. “Oh, there’s David! David Hemmings. David, David!”
David Hemmings, who had been featured with her in 13 and had gone on to star in Antonioni’s Blow-Up waved. Other celebrities flicked glances her way, at each other, to the door to see what majesty might enter next. Occasionally they looked down at food or drink. The place was as crowded as Alvaro’s in London, the customers practically the same. Ransohoff wore an open-neck sport shirt and shapeless coat, and he talked business. “Listen, sweetie, I’m going to have to cut some stuff out of The Vampire Killers. Your spanking scene has got to go.”
“Oh, don’t do that. Why would you do that?” “Because it doesn’t move the story. The story has got to move. Bang, bang, bang. No American audience is going to sit still while Polanski indulges himself.”
“But Europeans make movies differently than Americans, ” she explained to the producer she once feared. “Blow-Up moved slowly. But wasn’t it a great film!”
“I’ll tell you something, baby. I didn’t like it. If I’d have seen it before the reviews, I’d have said it’d never make it. It’s not my kind of picture. I want to be told a story without all that hocus-pocus symbolism going on.”
“But that one scene, Marty. When the girl show’s her, ah –” (only Sharon said the Anglo-Saxon word). In Hollywood, New York and London they all talked now about Blow-Up, dwelling on that scene.
“Yeah, I got to hand it to the guy for that one.” Ransohoff said, chuckling. “He pulled a good one off there.”
“Oh, I want to do a complete nude scene,” she said. “Say you’ll let me!”
“OK, OK,” Ransohoff said, bored, looking toward the door. “Yes, yes.”
“Do it now. Don’t just say it.” Then Sharon got bored.
Early in the morning Sharon appeared before the camera at Malibu Beach, redoing a scene for Don’t Make Waves. The sun had a hard time getting through the wisps of fog, and strong klieg lights helped out. In a sequence with an undraped David Draper, “Mr. Universe”, Sharon stuck out her backside and shot out her front. Magically, a button or two came undone on her polka-dot blouse, and after close examination of camera angle, director Sandy Mackendrick decided to leave it that way. He gave Sharon guidance in rubbing mineral oil over Draper’s bare back, as the scene called for. “Treat him like a horse,” he said. “Pat him just as you would an animal. That’s the way..”
She lovingly went over Draper’s muscled back, and then went “ugh” when the camera ceased to roll. The scene was done over and over. In her tiny trailer dressing room, she took a break and smoked daintily. “I’m happier when I’m working,” she said. “I don’t have time to think to much that way.”
One thing to think about was a visit to her parent’s home in Palos Verdes Estates, an hour’s drive away. (Her father was stationed in Korea, her mother and two younger sisters were at home.) Driving to the house one night in a heavy seaside fog, she became quieter and quieter, her words less Anglo-Saxon. A passenger beside her remarked, as the car neared its destination, that the fog reminded him of snow. “You know what it looks like to me?” she said. “Vomit.”
Her mother – a pleasant, plump, dark-haired woman – turned Sharon’s face this way and that. “Have you had your blood count recently, honey? You look so pale to me.” What did she think of Sharon’s becoming a movie star? What did she think of Roman Polanski? “You know,” she said, in the voice of every middle-class American mother, “I don’t care – just as long as she’s happy.”
Back in Hollywood Sharon moved from hotel to hotel, from one friend’s home to another. She talked to Polanski by phone. (It embarrassed him to try to write letters in English because of his mistakes.) So many things were unresolved, shadowy. Ransohoff was sore at Polanski because Polanski had gone way over the budget on The Vampire Killers (“Very un-Hollywood of him,” a Filmways executive said; another only referred to him as “the little–.”); Polanski was mad at Ransohoff because Ransohoff was cutting away at his film and postponing its release in the States. (Ransohoff had also had difficulties with Tony Richardson, the English director, over the budget and the cutting of The Loved One.) “The thing is,” said Sharon, “that Roman is an artist.”
At night Sharon went to The Daisy, a private discotheque in Beverly Hills. She wore an aviator’s leather jacket, slacks, and tinted Ben Franklin glasses. Seated near the dance floor, she silently watched young actresses her age go through their gyrations. Suzanne Pleshette and Patty Duke did subdued turns; Linda Ann Evans, in a miniskirt, did a much more spirited fling. Carolyn Jones, who only yesterday had played the ingénue, now looked like a chaperone. Sharon gave Linda Ann Evans the once over and said, “I’ve worn a much shorter mini in London. That’s nothing.”
From another table a slim, bronzed young man with a pampered black hair ambled confidently past Tina Sinatra, Patty Duke, Suzanne Pleshette – and hovered over this strange blond beauty in an aviator’s leather jacket. He had the air of a football star in a small town high school, who was used to having his pick. He showed his beautiful white teeth and said, “Let’s dance.”
“No,” she said, “let’s not.”
He kept the smile on his face as he backed away. He was now another who had tried to bring Sharon Tate into a private fantasy – but he didn’t know that she had passed his type long ago.
She was going to fly to London and get engaged to Roman Polanski. Then she was going to fly back to star in Valley of the Dolls. Ransohoff was lending her to 20th Century-Fox to play a sexy bombshell who goes to Europe to star in nudie movies and who bewitches the world with her improbable lushness.

Angels and Demons - Part 2
Part 1/Part 3
Here’s part 2! It will be longer and Damien and Marinette will meet!
“Marinette! Wake up! We have to go! Your class is already leaving!” Waking up to a very loud, very high pitched kwami probably wasn’t the best start to Marinette’s day. She sighed, and then realised what Tikki said.
“Wait what! The class is already leaving!” She scrambled to get up, only just missing hitting Tikki. Marinette ran and changed as quickly as she could, pulling on her pink overalls, falling over her suitcases and spilling objects everywhere. Finally she made it out of her obstacle course of a room, running full speed to the lobby, only to find it empty.
Disappointment reared it’s ugly head and she held onto the hope that they were still in the car park, waiting for her. She walked into the car park, dread creeping it’s way up her spine, and she saw exactly what she expected.
Empty. ‘Great, just great.’ She could feel Tikki’s silent comfort in her purse. ‘They left me behind. What a surprise!’
Tikki flew out of her purse, seething, “Mari! Transform! We can still make it!” She beyond mad. She was raging. Tikki couldn’t believe that the class left someone behind. And not just anybody, but her chosen!
“Are you sure Tikki? Wouldn’t it be suspicious it Ladybug was in Gotham? What if somebody figured out my identity?” Marinette shivered, and it wasn’t just from the cold. She didn’t want to imagine what would happen if someone figured out her identity. She didn’t want to imagine what could happen to her parents. Her family. Her friends. (AN: Luka and Kagami)
“Don’t worry, Marinette. I’ll change your costume so it’ll be harder to be spotted.” Tikki didn’t even care anymore she was so furious.
“You can do that! Why didn’t you tell me before!? Also, was that a pun?” Marinette was shocked.
Tikki just smiled sheepishly. “Transform now. Talk later.”
“Alright, but we better talk about this when we get back to the hotel. Tikki, spots on!”
*cue transformation sequence*
—————————————
“Tikki, spots off!” Her feet hit the pavement, and Tikki flew out of her earrings. Marinette quickly put Tikki in her purse, where there were a few cookies lying inside, and started to power walk down the street to Wayne Enterprises.
“If I run I might just about make it there in time!” And with that, Marinette’s power walk turned into a run. She was looking down at the ground, trying not to trip, and running to the huge skyscraper that towered above her.
She almost ran past the building she was going so fast, but she managed to grab a pole and swing through the door, into the buildings lobby, and right into another person.
Marinette backed up immediately, eyes to the ground, “I’m so sorry! It- It was an accident. I was just trying to catch up to my class because they accidentally left me behind! I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to!”
She cautiously looked up, and saw a handsome boy around her age staring at her. His eyes focused on hers.
“Ummmm... Hi. I’m Damien.”
—————————————
Damien, by all accounts, wasn’t a person who believed in a certain religion. He didn’t believe in God, gods, magic, demons or angels. Until he met, or more accurately ran into, one.
Backing up a bit, Damien was woken up in the morning by an annoying older brother who didn’t understand the meaning of Saturdays. So it was understandable that he was a bit... grouchy, to put it nicely.
He walked down the stairs to the kitchen, at the ungodly hour of 8am, only to be met with 3 idiots playing with butter and toast.
“Hey demon spawn! How’d you sleep?” Jason, the second oldest and the causer of chaos, shouted over the noise of the other two.
“Would’ve been better if someone didn’t wake me up so damn early.” Damien was wearing his famous ‘scowl of doom’, and while it usually intimidated his brothers, it was ruined by his sleepiness.
“Come on! It’s not even that early. You could even say it’s late, especially for a bat.” Dick, the oldest, and the idiot that woke him up, declared.
“It’s 8am, Grayson. 8am. If you want to live, shut up.”
“Better get ready Dick, you’re doing the tour for that class from France.” Tim, the second youngest spoke. And yep, Damien was sadly the youngest. But that didn’t stop him from being the most serious.
“Oh yeah, damn. I was going to make marshmallow bombs to serve for lunch today.” Dick displayed a box of marshmallows that he was apparently going to use to make marshmallows bombs.
“HEY DAMIEN! How about you come with me? Learn about the company... you know?” Dick pleaded, almost falling over trying to get to Damien.
“You just don’t want to do the tour.” Damien stated, glaring at Dick.
“Hmm. That too.” Dick crossed his arms and smirked at Damien. “Come on brat. You got no choice anyway. It’s either come with me or stay at the Manor and help Alfred to feed the bats. And I know you hate the bats, even if they did nothing to you.” He mumbled the last part under his breath.
Damien just glared harder at him. But he went back up to change.
 —————————————
‘This is why I didn’t want to come. You know what Dick, I don’t care, I’m leaving. Take that.’ Damien easily ripped his arm out of Lila’s hold, snuck to the back of the class and slipped out of the corridor and into the lobby, power walking outta that mess.
AN: Let’s rewind a bit.
Dick was walking down a corridor to get to the lobby of Wayne Enterprises to the tour group, a class from France. They all seemed to be surrounding a brunette with sausage hair. He walked forward a little more and their (one-sided) conversation became clearer.
“Yeah, I’ve got an on and off relationship with Bruce Wayne’s youngest son. Back when I used to live in Gotham, my Damikins and I had the best times.” The sausage hair girl was speaking to the whole class, and seemed to have them wrapped around her finger.
The ombre red head replied with a “Oh my god, Lila! That is so cool! You know Damien Wayne!”
‘What crap.’ Dick could feel the lies from where he was standing. ‘Those idiots. Oh god. They’re the class I’m giving the tour to?’ He almost turned around and high-tailed it back to where Damien was waiting for him to lead the class to. But, like the ‘good’ son he was, he walked over to them. “Hi there. Are you Francoise Dupont? I’m Richard Grayson your tour guide for the day.”
“Oh hello Mr Grayson. I’m Ms Bustier. And yes this is my class from Françoise Dupont. It’s a pleasure to meet you.” Ms Bustier came up to him and shook hands.
“You too. Now let’s get started. Allow me to take you to the main floor.” Dick lead the group down the corridor and met up with Damien, who was standing in the corridor, waiting impatiently.
Damien was just about ready to leave when Dick finally came back. But instead of a ‘thank you for waiting Damien’ Dick just quickly walked past without even looking at him. Suddenly his arm was taken hostage by a now deemed annoying girl with terrible hair, and he understood why Dick walked by so fast.
“Hey there. I’m Lila. What’s your name?” The now dubbed, Lila, was still holding onto his arm, and was all up in his personal space! Damien had just about had enough of this stupid tour, and it hadn’t even started!
‘This is why I didn’t want to come. You know what Dick, I don’t care, I’m leaving. Take that.’ Damien easily ripped his arm out of Lila’s hold, snuck to the back of the class and slipped out of the corridor and into the lobby, power walking outta that mess.
AN: And now we’re up to speed.
Damien looked behind him, saw no one following him, and turned back around. Only to see a pig-tailed head with hair as dark as night right in front of him.
He, of course, crashed into her. He was dazed for a second, before he regained his bearings and took in the girl he had run into. Wow. What an angel! She was really cute. She had on pretty pink overalls and black converse. He couldn’t see her eyes because her head was down, but he was sure they were just as cute as the rest of her.
The girl was apologising so quickly he could barely keep up with what she was saying. “I’m so sorry! It- It was an accident. I was just trying to catch up to my class because they accidentally left me behind!”
‘Wait what? They left her behind. What kind of idiots would leave someone like her behind? Ohhh. It must have been that class with the sausage girl.’ Damien grimaced at the memory.
“I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to!” She slowly looked up, and Damien finally saw her eyes. They weren’t cute. They weren’t even pretty. They were beautiful. Gorgeous. A bluebell colour that made his heart pound as she stared into his eyes. They made the night sky look dull and plain.
‘Shit. Say something! Say something you idiot! Come on!’ Damien was so enraptured with her eyes he was rendered speechless.
Finally, he managed to stutter out, “Ummmm... Hi. I’m Damien.”

@amaeranthos : a kiss for cloud.
one should never, ever drink their own stock. that had always been tifa’s motto while managing seventh heaven ⎯⎯⎯⎯ a rule she still lived by while she ran its successor. good, quality alcohol had always been hard to come by when living in the slums and things weren’t much better in edge; tifa was getting by with the corel wine she was making herself but the woman cherished any opportunity that could lead to getting her hands on better goods. somehow, that opportunity would be through cloud of all people. it was a quarter after midnight when he came through the door, nearly causing tifa to jump in surprise as she was wiping down the tables for the night. it had been a slow evening and so she had chosen to close up early, figuring it best to busy herself with cleaning and organizing the place while she was alone. tifa hadn’t been expecting him to return until tomorrow evening at best; for cloud to have returned this soon meant he had been in a hurry to get back...but why?
the answer lies hidden behind a shy smirk cloud wears on his face, i have a surprise for you being the first words out of his mouth when their eyes meet in greeting. joining him by the table he’s set his things on, tifa watches in quiet anticipation as he shifts through his duffle bag before carefully pulling out three wrapped bags and sitting them on the table. slowly, she pulls one of the items out of its bag before she begins to unwrap it, a soft gasp leaving her mouth once she realizes just what’s inside. she reads over the label once, twice, and then a third time just to make sure what she’s reading is actually accurate: tequila del sol. est. since 1950. tifa had never seen, let alone actually held, an authentic bottle of tequila from costa del sol before. ‘imported’ bottles had a tendency to float around the slums but they were always low quality dupes ⎯⎯⎯⎯ cheap, watered down tequila sold to anyone desperate ( or naive ) enough to buy them.
❛ how did you even get these? ’ tifa is quickly moving behind the bar counter as she speaks, her mind already coming up with different ways to use these to their advantage ( buy two drinks, get one shot free? maybe do trades again for some drinks? or i could do a super saturday shot special! ). cloud’s trailing behind her, sliding into one of the barstools with a shrug when he answers, payment for a delivery in costa del sol. his gaze is turned away from her as he scratches at his neck. no gil but they had these to trade. they said the bottles were valuable and i figured you could use them here. ❛ good looking out cloud! i appreciate it. ’ she turns to give him a smile and a wink before focusing on placing the bottles on display, an awkward silence falling between them ( as it always did ). once she reaches the last bottle, tifa pauses suddenly as a thought comes to her.
❛ what if we did a quick taste test? ’ she says out loud, her eyes still eying the bottle casually. she had wasted good gil on paying for overpriced fakes during her younger, more inexperienced days as a bartender and had learned the value of tasting a product before serving it to a customer ⎯⎯⎯⎯ it also just so happened to be one of the few times she actually got to drink her own products. while tifa doubted this was a fake, it didn’t hurt to test its authenticity. one could never be too sure after all. turning to look back at cloud, tifa’s eyes sparkle with excitement while she holds the bottle up playfully. ❛ you in? ’
 two hours later.
a shot glass slams against the counter as tifa bites into her last slice of lime, letting out a slurred, ❛ i wiiiiiiiiiiiiiin. ’ to cloud once she’s done. he only shook his head drunkenly in response, a pout on his face as he lifted the bottle of tequila they had just nearly burned through. there’s...still a little more left, he paused, hiccuping before continuing, this isn’t over yet. tifa only giggles at that, leaning over to playfully shove him. ❛ you’re just mad that you’re a lightweight. ’ it’s technically not true but tifa likes teasing him anyway, secretly enjoying the way his cheeks lightly blush when her hand connects briefly with his shoulder. she stretches her arms to the ceiling with a content smile, figuring it best to finally call it a night so that they weren’t tempted to crack open another bottle.
❛ tonight was...fun. ’ she admits, although it almost feels directed more so to herself than to him. sighing, she slides off her barstool to begin cleaning up their mess when the sudden catch of her wrist has her turning to look back at cloud...who seemed to be in the middle of debating on what to do now. his grip was loose enough for tifa to pull out of it if she truly wanted to; she could walk away, pretend this small moment didn’t happen and leave cloud to sulk over his inability to fully tell her what he wanted ⎯⎯⎯⎯ while she laid awake upset that she was just as bad as him. maybe it’s the loneliness she’s felt over the past two weeks since he’s been gone or the multiple shots of alcohol coursing through her system but whatever it was, she’s thankful for it because it made her feel bolder than usual tonight.
she frees her hand from his grip and before she can mentally talk herself out of it, her lips are already attached to his. tifa cups her hands around his face, savoring the remnants of salt and tequila on his mouth, the messy, inexperienced way he begins to kiss her back, and how he hungrily pulls her onto his lap. she doesn’t want it to stop ⎯⎯⎯⎯ she doesn’t want things to go back to the the way it was before and she hoped that maybe, just maybe, her actions could say what she herself never could: i miss you. i want you. i love you. when their lips finally separate for air, a part of her is too nervous to look at him directly but she gathers the courage to meet his gaze anyway. cloud was quiet but his eyes never leave hers as he reaches for the open bottle of liquor and downs the remaining tequila before finally speaking,
Tumblr media
i guess...we can consider this a tie then. he stands then, easily supporting her weight with just one arm ⎯⎯⎯⎯ a lingering reminder of what shinra had done to him; another realization that he wasn’t the same boy she lived next door to as a child...nor was she the same girl he had quietly admired from afar. they were different than before...but was that really a bad thing? ❛ a tie then. ’ tifa softly whispers in agreement, wrapping her legs around his waist before she proceeds to kiss him again: along his lips, cheeks, neck, everywhere. while he carries her upstairs. tifa can’t help but think that she had still won tonight ⎯⎯⎯⎯ just in more ways than one.

Venture to BTS Concert 1
Are you ARMY?  Dying for BTS Concert
Tumblr media
Yes, I did go to BTS World Tour, Love Yourself in HK.   This is my venture story to THE Concert.
In TV news, YouTube, and Facebook, I was getting the name of BTS very often and they got my attention.   Became curious about this K-pop band, who turned out to be the most successful ever in the history of Korean pop music.
Yes, they are the biggest boy band in the world.   They even did the speech at the U.N.  Quite impressive.
During after-work Zumba class, the instructor was even experimenting one of BTS songs.  Definitely, first time to listen to that song.    Totally Unzumbable!!!  But we managed, somehow.
As they were getting popular and became such a world phenomenon (even cover of TIME), I wanted to join this trend.
I became a fan when they released the song IDOL, I know, a late bloomer.  Especially I liked the funny intro part with quite interesting sound and rhythm, which gave you a curiosity and much expectation what to follow next in the song.
Loved a remixed version featuring American-Trinidadian rapper Nicki Minaj and its music video.  Her collaboration helped a bit to expand their fan coverage from just teenagers, hopefully.
Going to  a live concert of popular singers/bands are quite rare experience that ordinary people including myself could not afford.  Not just the money, you need to plan ahead and invest quite a time for the event.
It was February 2019 around my birthday.   I decided to treat myself with BTS concert experiences as a birthday gift.   I heard that their tickets would sold-out within 10 min. (?) timeframe.  But without giving up hope, I googled ‘BTS Tour Tickets’.  With my surprise, it did show several options of ticket purchase for their upcoming Hong Kong and Bangkok Love Yourself Tours in March and April 2019.
Later, I figured out those ticket selling companies were buying chunk of tickets using their some kind of mega macro programs when ticket selling started.  No wonder you were never able to buy tickets using your iPhone or MacBook as it was technically impossible to beat their super computers.
Later, they sold to miserable but eager fans by batches.  Of course, the price would be a total rip-off.   No choice,  I had to join this late comer club.     I had to decide between Hong Kong and Bangkok.    I visited two cities several times from business trips but have never been to Asia World-Expo Arena or Rajamangala National Stadium.
I didn’t want to get lost or have a problem of coming back to the hotel.   So, started to search the hotels near around.
As a lone traveler, I needed to find a decent one, hopefully within walking distance as a commute back to hotel at night would be a nightmare especially considering heavy traffic in Bangkok.
Thank god, there was Hong Kong SkyCity Marriott Hotel, which was directly connected to Asia World-Expo Arena.
As the location was confirmed, it’s time to decide the date and buy the ticket.  As this would be the first and last (?) chance to go for a live concert, I wanted to get a good seat with a decent view of the stage performers.   I went for the best again over-priced seat closest to the stage.
I had to decide between Saturday or Sunday depending on the hotel availability.  Finally, Sunday, March 24 was chosen.  It was one of front seats, just next to the right wing of main stage.
The ticket company even charged additional US$100 for administrative processing  along with ticket price itself with kind notes of “to ensure your ticket is purchased”. What does that mean?  You pay extra “just to MAKE SURE”??  You couldn’t believe how over-priced it was.
I had to calm down and talked to myself ‘this is your birthday gift’ when I did the final payment.
To make it things worse, the SkyCity Marriott turned out to be very pricy.   Furthermore, I didn’t want to take a leave for this but no choice I had to book one night of Sunday as Sunday was bit cheaper than Saturday.   Still this booking became the most expensive ever one-night lodging in my life.
I had to skip a routine Monday business meeting by applying one day annual leave with remarks of “important personal matter.”
It’s time for air-ticket.  I had to compensate the over-the-budget ticket and hotel.    Managed to find the budget airline of Air Asia round tickets, Sunday morning 6am and Monday morning 9am.   Couldn’t sleep that much on Saturday night from the excitement of this venture, like an elementary school girl waiting for a school picnic.
Had to wake up at 3am to be on time for departure flight.  After I arrived in Hong Kong airport,  tried to find a free hotel shuttle bus.    After spending so much, if I could save some money, why not?
There was a warning of typhoon that week.  It was quite windy and chilly.  Had to wait for this free bus for more than 45 min. in the middle of nowhere quite far from main building of the airport.   Renovation construction was on-going everywhere in Hong Kong Airport.
Became miserable and felt stupid while waiting, especially with thin jacket and sleepy eyes, accompanied by strong wind.  Hotel was quite near.   What a ‘penny wise, pound  foolish’
I saw a couple (mother and daughter) waiting for same shuttle.    I figured that they had the same goal of mine.   A daughter was carrying a backpack with  BT21 Chimmy plush doll hanging from the zipper.
Hmm,   I would see them at tonight’s concert.
Finally, a shuttle bus arrived.

Tumblr media
— GENRE; fluff | — PAIRING; Yoongi x Jungkook | — DISCLAIMER; anxiety— Wordcount; 2k  | — written with @cassiavioletblue
Tumblr media
↳ If you want to know which story the anon is referring to, you can read “Kiss me quietly” here!
Jungkook was biting his lip nervously. His heart was beating fast and his palms felt sweaty as he rubbed them against his jeans, before trying to take a deep breath again. He failed miserably, just gasping for air like a fish on land instead. His cheeks blushed in embarrassment, hoping that no one had seen him. No one cared for the young man in his fluffy sweater, that held on tightly to the hem of the fabric to ground himself, but to Jungkook it felt like he was being stared at from everywhere. Why the heck did there need to be so many people on a saturday night. There were one too many familiar faces, some waved at him and Jungkook had awkwardly repeated the motion as they looked at him in a mixture of surprise and questioning gazes.
Jungkook wasn’t one to go out, not alone at least. They were probably asking themselves where Jimin was. It only made him want to vanish even more. Jungkook was shy; he usually never went out and rather stayed inside or with his friends.
And waiting alone in a crowded alley was just heightening his anxiety.
Someone stepped beside the younger and Jungkook looked up at the taller man, who nodded at him with a smile, making him turn his face at the speed of light. The other just chuckled at him and Jungkook quickly pushed himself past the sign, almost making it fall from how he was nervously stumbling. But he couldn’t stay there for long either, when a group of girls made Jungkook turn on his heel and walk to the other side of the bar. He kept his gaze low as he finally found a new corner, where he was still visible enough and yet felt like he could push himself as close to the wall as possible if he needed. Jungkook breathed in slowly and observed the happy people around, vanishing into the bar or stepping out of it with smiles on their faces. He should see this as another opportunity to get out of his comfort zone, to try and do things he usually hated.
Jungkook wanted to do it for him. He wanted him to like him more. But he would be interested in a shy boy like him? He was so scared that Yoongi would turn his back on him, getting bored of his nervous antics, him being too shy to speak up. His mind was spiraling and his heart was aching at the thought. He wanted nothing more to turn around and go home.
Yoongi had chosen dark denim jeans that were tight fitted and not as ripped as the pants he normally wore. It was his version of dressing up, together with a leather jacket that wasn’t really black but rather greyish-blue and really soft to the touch because it had softened through the years. When he came into the bar he had a smile on his face, looking forward to their date - that was until he saw his date sitting in a corner, stiff and awkward. It looked as if Jungkook would have given anything to possess chameleon-characteristics and be able to melt into the wall behind him. When he saw Yoongi he perked up - but flinched immediately when someone behind the bar clanked two glasses together. He looked really uncomfortable and Yoongi suddenly felt bad about suggesting to go out. “That bad, hu?” He whispered when he slipped into the sitting booth right next to Jungkook.
Jungkook shrugged his shoulders, cheeks blushing when he felt Yoongi shifting closer to him. They had been on a few dates already and Jungkook still needed to wrap his mind around that the outgoing-heartbreaking-leather-jacket-wearing man was interested in him. Him, out of all the people, he could have chosen.
Jungkook smiled softly as he nudged his boyfriends side. “S-should I get you a beer?” His voice was so quiet that Yoongi almost didn’t understand him, but Jungkook pointed at the card on the table.
“Yeah, that’s.. if you want to? That would be nice.” He had to fight the urge to tell Jungkook to just stay seated and that he would get them their drinks in a second but Jungkook looked as if he had fought hard to get himself to say this because while Yoongi had no problem with walking past a dozen strangers and ordering drinks without the fear of being judged or overanalyzed he knew it was something that Jungkook had deeply engraved in his mind. So he didn’t want to take that moment of pride away from the younger who visible straightened himself at the prospect of his difficult task.
Jungkook bit his lip as he got up with his wallet in hand. He was taking deep breaths the closer he gotten to the bar, mumbling the type of beer Yoongi wanted a dozen of times in his mind. It was just about ten steps away from the booth. Not far and yet, it felt like Yoongi was too far out of reach already. He was always his safety line.
“What can I get you, love?” The barkeeper didn’t even really look at him, busy with handing out a few drinks, before his gaze froze on the younger. Jungkook opened his mouth but the moment he was sure he could easily do it there were no words. Nothing. Jungkook whined helplessly, when the barkeeper asked again getting obviously frustrated at the younger’s silence.
“Listen dude, if you’re not ordering…”
Jungkook nodded his head, gaze flickering around the room nervously when he spotted the sign at the wall. He pointed at it, quickly making a sign that he wanted two and to his own surprise the man got him right away. When he came back, Jungkook had a proud smile on his face, even though the blush and almost feverish redness of his cheeks were showing how much energy it had cost him to get two bottles of beer.
Yoongi had watched him like a hawk, ready to jump in and solve any problem that might occur but when Jungkook managed to come back with what he had gone to the bar for, smiling from ear to ear he felt pride surging through him, like a father whose son had just made his first steps. “Thank you, Kook.” He took the bottle with a nod, waiting for the other to sit down before they softly clinked their bottles together.
Jungkook leaned against Yoongi, feeling exhausted from his encounter with the barkeeper and way too many people between the ten steps and this booth already.
“H-how was mus-?” Jungkook got interrupted by a group of young students that suddenly stood at their booth. “The whole pub is full; do you mind if we just sit here? You guys don’t need that much room right?” They laughed and Jungkook knew they meant well. They really did. It wasn’t their fault. It was his own for being like this. Jungkook shifted closer to Yoongi, fighting the urge to climb on his lap completely as he tried to give the other enough space.
It was like watching a door shutting right in front of your face: Jungkook’s face closed off, a polite smile the only thing left on it but it wasn’t real, rather like a default mode he used when he wasn’t quite sure how to react. When Yoongi put his arm around him he could feel how the other’s muscles had locked up and it felt like he was hugging a statue. He leaned in, as if to kiss the other’s cheek and whispered quietly so that only Kook could hear him, “Do you want to go? I don’t mind where we are as long as I can have that date with you. And I want you to be comfortable. So whatever you chose it’s fine by me.”
Jungkook felt awful as he averted his gaze, trying to blend out the loud music or the people next to him. He wanted to be better for Yoongi at this, he really did. But it was just too much. With a little too shaky hands, Jungkook reached for his phone and opened up the notes as he always did, too scared to talk. He typed as he leaned his head on Yoongi’s shoulder, feeling a lot safer with him by his side. Jungkook held up his phone for the other to read, a smile appearing on his lips when Yoongi read the two words he had written down: Banana milkshakes?
He smiled encouragingly at the younger. “Yeah, that sounds like a plan.” He kept his arm tightly around his boyfriend as he got up, pulling him along with him while shielding him from the others view a little. He knew it made Kook felt safe if he was manhandled a little during instances when it all got too much. Because Jungkook trusted him to have his best interest at heart and sometimes it was a blessing to just shut off his mind and follow where he was guided. “Excuse us, we were kinda finished here so you can have the table completely. Enjoy the night.” Heads were bowed politely and smiles were exchanged and then they were out, stepping away from the table.
The moment they were out in the fresh night’s air, Jungkook took a deep breath feeling like he had held it. He let himself get pulled along and out of the busy streets, trusting Yoongi to take him somewhere else.
“I really wanted to do this for you,” Jungkook mumbled, brushing his sweaterpaw over his cheek in embarrassment. “It’s what you do with Hobi…like…going out and…and drinking beer. It’s not that hard, is it?” His lips pursed into a little pout, while he was beating himself up about it mentally. He was an awful excuse of a boyfriend.
“What do you mean you wanted to do this for me? Didn’t you want to go out yourself?” He looked at the other in surprise and then sighed deeply when he understood. “Baby, you don’t have to do that. Ever. Trying to do something that you don’t want but think I’ll expect of you. Because I don’t expect you to do anything but being yourself. That’s enough for me. You’re right, I do go out to drink with Hobi every now and then. But that doesn’t mean we have to do the same. We can do our own thing, And I’m perfectly happy with drinking banana milk with you if that makes you happy as well.”
The moment, Yoongi called him ‘baby’ Jungkook felt like his heart jumped out of his chest. He nodded softly. Jungkook was aware, at least the rational part of him that Yoongi was right but it was just so god damn hard to get it on his mind. “But you’re always so happy when you’re with Hobi and…when you’re out and I want to make you happy, too.” He whispered, holding on to the hem of Yoongi’s leather jacket as if he was scared that he could leave and he could prevent it with a soft grip. “I’m scared you’ll get bored of me.”
“How can you think I could get bored of you? I love you, Kook. You’re not a game to me that’ll lose it’s fascination after having been played three times in a row. Don’t worry, I fell in love with you as a person not with what I thought you should be like.” He leaned in as if to confess something “Also I have to tell you a secret. Everytime you smile that happy bunny smile of yours that comes out when you’re truly happy makes me fall in love with you all over again. So the best way to make sure I have no chance of getting a break is enjoying yourself.”
Jungkook immediately wrapped his arms around Yoongi’s neck, pulling him closer with the action as he held onto him tightly. His heart was hurting – but it was the good kind. The really good kind.
“I..I love you, too.” Jungkook whispered, brushing his hand through Yoongi’s hair as he pulled back enough to look at him. He couldn’t help it, but the bunny smile that he had talked about only seconds ago was coming out, making Jungkook scrunch up his nose in the cutest way possible.
