Friend
You are proud,
A jester of plots and
Tricks.
In my teared hours,
You charge in with
A laugh.
When we work together,
We work as one.
Life without you,
Will not happen for me.
Life without you,
I am not at home.

Poetry: Subway by Eric Keizer
Poetry: Subway by Eric Keizer
Subway
©June 2017 Eric Keizer
Electric worm,
Inwardly I smile, but only
Deep inside, otherwise,
They wonder if you’re crazy/dangerous.
Next stop, North Ave.
Gingerly I step inside,
Doors slam and suddenly,
Acrid, stale, “air conditioning”
Weakly cycles,
But damn,
It’s hot.
There’s sour sweat, sour beer, lingering vomit
Cologne and perfume
Disinfectant.
Next stop, Randolph St.
And sides of beef,

On Poetry: A Lesson on Imagery
On Poetry: A Lesson on Imagery
So poetry is a subject near and dear to me. I studied under Diane Wakoski at university and learned so much from my time there. Today I wanted to talk a little about what I view as the heart of poetry, imagery. I know there are forms like narrative poetry and slam poetry, which are different in their makeup, but they still contain imagery. Imagery is crucial to your poem. It also includes more…

Sometimes, writing happens. Sometimes you can sit alone and just… you know, write. No pressure, no worries. But only an idiot would say it was always that easy for everyone. We all have jobs, family, hobbies, habits… life, any number of reasons (excuses) why the writing never gets done. NanoWrimo is a concept designed to smash through all your excuses, for a short period of time.

How to Harness the Power of the Crowd: 5 Must-Read Tips for Writers Considering Crowdfunding
How to Harness the Power of the Crowd: 5 Must-Read Tips for Writers Considering Crowdfunding
Deciding to publish your own work is big step, but the cost of putting out a book by oneself can be enough to derail even the most stalwart of self-pub dreamers. Out of Context: Existential Crisis

Or maybe you’re in line at the grocery store, sorting your coupons when…wait…she didn’t say what I think she did, did she?
It happens to all of us…
