Food and water supplies are decent, even if the taste is mediocre at best. It's been.. About two months and a half since we left Earth, I think. Tulpar wasn't meant for a crew of five, and it shows. Anya nearly sprained her ankle trying to reach for medical supplies, and while passing the hallway today I heard Swansea yelling at Daisuke for cutting a wrong wire while he laughed it off. It's a wonder he hasn't snapped the kid's neck yet. The coffee machine's still broken. ... I've been thinking to myself, lately. I don't mean to get too personal here, but.. Sometimes I find myself questioning my job as a captain. Am I doing the right thing? I studied hard for this. I thought the day would never come, and once it did- I've never been more lost. I'm trying. I'm trying hard. I'm doing my best. But how good is my best? The vast space feels discomforting to me now. It's a reminder I can't change what I have done in the past. But I can try to make the future better, for all of us. Whenever I look at my people, I see respect. Respect, admiration, and it makes me feel warm knowing these people trust me. They trust me to lead them. And I will do everything in my power to help them no matter what. ... Maybe I should lay down for a while. Ciao.

Al coming back from his travels: Xing was great! I've learned so much about alkahestry, and I think we're really making progress and getting Jerso and Zampano's bodies back! It was really nice to see Mei, and Ling is doing a great job as emperor, and I even got to visit some of Xing's neighbors to the east! this year my challenge for everyone is to unlearn the association between love and morality. love is not something that is inherently morally good, and the absence of love is not something that is inherently bad. sex without love isn't morally bankrupt, it's just an action. people without love aren't less kind or less good, they're just people. when we can get past this false (and often unnoticed) dichotomy of good love/evil lovelessness then i think we are going to be able to take leaps and bounds in sex positivity, aro advocacy, certain discussions of mental health...

#and also. not the direct focus. but love doesn't make things good. you can be in love and do terrible terrible things.#people do bad things in the name of love and in despite of love all the time.#but!! imagine a world where people could exist as people and not be demonized.#sex positivity means being cool about All sex. reexamine your internal systems of moral judgement.#this goes for sex workers. for aroallo people. especially aroallo men. for aro people in general who might enjoy sex.#and frankly i think it can easily bleed into discussions about mental health disorders around 'not feeling' certain things #especially demonizing ppl who don't feel as much empathy. i think there's definitely a correlation between that and the emphasis on love.#our support needs to go out to Everybody and i think these things are all structured together in one way or another!!#it might not be immediately obvious but when i tell you it all leads back to amatonormativity..... little bit wild.... large bit wild....#anyway. horror movie psychopath 'oh he can't feel emotions or love' damn alright. well. let's take a closer look at that.#silly that there's an association between lack of love and Murdering. feel like that might affect some stuff.#love is just an emotion/a feeling it doesn't mean anything about you one way or another #same with empathy. you can feel it all you want but it doesn't inherently change the actions you choose to take #anyway. thesis statement. there is a socially constructed link between love and morality. unlearn that.#kiss kiss (<— lovelessly)#aromantic #aromanticism #arospec #talking #aroace #aspec #sex positivity

Daisuke got stuck while attempting to fix the vent in utility. Had to get an axe to free the poor kid out of the foam. Decided to give it to Swansea afterwards- I'm sure he's sane enough not to hit him with it. Besides, it may be useful somehow. Anya's been worried about me. Says I always give out the same answers whenever she does my psych eval- but if I really am fine, why should I reply any differently? I guess I don't blame her for being worried, but I don't really have time for this. ... I'm starting to sound like someone else. God- I-I don't know what to feel about this. I haven't slept in a long time, maybe that's what's causing me to.. ... Keep it together, Curly. I think our supplies will be able to last for at least.. 8 more months. It's some loose calculations, but it's the best we can have currently. I do wish they gave us anything better to eat than cheap food that tastes like plastic. We'll be fine though. I'll make sure of it.
