Like usual, it's the younger players who always tend to surprise him.

Shiroe is admittedly self-hating, but he's not stupid; he understands that no matter how much he might believe he can put himself through, people like Nyanta, Naotsugu, and Akatsuki have some kind of an obligation to come fetch him when he's holing himself up, though Shiroe privately doubts it's because they actually want to spend time with him. The younger players he's helped out, though...

Well, it's not like he hasn't noticed that some of them look up to him. In some ways, he's glad he can be that kind of person for them---he's still grateful, even now, for the ways Nyanta had stepped up and given him a shoulder to lean on when he'd first started playing.

But he hadn't ever asked after Nyanta's wellbeing; not until after he'd grown out of his teenage problems, of course. He knows well enough now that Nyanta had always wanted a kid of his own to spoil and how that can't really happen for him anymore, but he just hadn't thought to ask at the time.

Tsukasa, though, is almost worryingly perceptive when it comes to the people around him.

"I'm not..." Shiroe starts, but then sighs resolutely, a sheepish smile plastered across his face. "Well, I am, but there are some things I have to take care of on my own. If it makes you feel any better, I don't plan to be out here longer than I can help it. My guildmates---they'd probably come looking for me even if I was."

He hopes the way he smiles after that comes off as reassuring.
