How Will She Know? - Lenka Mok/Riyola Keevan, Gaya/Ouannii

A/N: Day 22 aka 2 for @domaystic

“Just tell her...”    Gaya’s voice is soft even as she watches Lenka pace. She knows, deep down, that this won’t go well if Lenka doesn’t calm herself. Ouannii nods.    “Mee tinka mee love u...”    Ouannii’s advice draws a frustrated noise from Lenka.    “I’ve tried that.... I just... I can’t. She’s so... I couldn’t.”    Gaya smiles slightly.    “Do you need a tutorial?”    Her voice is light but she can see how much Lenka is shaking even as she moves to take her hands.    “Just tell her, Lenka... she won’t push you away.”    “How do you know?”    “Because I told her.”    Riyola’s voice draws a soft noise of fear from Lenka and Riyola half-rolls her eyes, moving to take Lenka’s hand, pulling her away to talk, her voice soft.    “Next time, don’t go looking for a tutorial Lenka, just tell me what you’ve been thinking or feeling. You know I care... deeply... about you.”    A pause, then, finally, after a muttered curse, Riyola speaks softly.    “I love you, Lenka. There’s a reason I’ve never let you leave me.”

I heard that the last cruise for the Halcyon launched today. I wanted to post photos of the 3 characters that really drew @branimation and I into the story.

Sammie was amazingly great and always remembered our names. He really drew us into the story and made us feel important to what was happening. We were the most invested in his story and the grand finale may have made us tear up a little.

I got Gaya to laugh with a joke when I first met her. I originally thought her character was the vein superstar not the secret hero of her people. As a fellow twi'lek, I saw she was really trying to draw me into her story.

Ouannii is just stunning in every way. When I first boarded the ship I didn't speak Rodese. But the language is surprisingly easy to learn. And Ouannii always spoke from the heart and offered real insight.

I was blown away by the Cast Members aboard the ship. They were doing so much and they were remembering so many people at the same time. These people work so hard to give everyone an unforgettable memory.

After mentioning my trip was Star Wars related the other day, someone at work goes "Oh you're really into Star Wars??" and I got a little excited to say yes and talk more, and then she just goes "... I've never seen any of it." and it was like a brick wall slammed into our conversation.

I tried my best to give her the ol "hey not everything of for everyone, different strokes for different folks" response, but me originally mentioning Star Wars was literally a footnote in the otherwise unrelated conversation at hand, so why'd she swerve the convo towards it just to derail? Hyperfixation heartbreak. 🥲

On the plus side, I didn't set off some angry toxic rant, because that's the other risk of trying to talk Star Wars these days.

And it's also so funny because "Star Wars Fandom" is really a lot of smaller splintered fandoms instead. Clone fandom, High Republic fandom, OT fandom, the tiny GS fandom, etc. We talk about how there's "stuff in Star Wars for everyone" and you can pick a lane and stay there happily if you want, but the bigger the media continues to get, the more it becomes apparent that "whoa we went to the same college at the same time, but the class I took and the one you took were very different experiences and we still cannot bond over anything shared except maybe that one friend between us that showed up in both classes... Somehow".

Ouannii and Sandro from the Galactic Starcruiser! Yes, I'm very sad about it's closing. No, I haven't stopped on-and-off crying for the entire last week. Yes, I've had Gaya's whole album stuck in my head for days. I'm nowhere near ready to talk about how much I love Ouannii and Sandro, or how much the idea that we'll never see Ouannii again hurts. Sandro, I'm following on Instagram. That's less sad, lol.
