“Hi,” Eli says, sounding exactly the same as he always does. Daniel can picture him exactly like this, perched at his kitchen counter or on his couch or back at Quest, one hand clutched at his knee. “You alright?”

Daniel wants to laugh even though nothing over the past six hours has been funny. What the fuck does Eli think he’s going to say? “You probably know the answer,” he says flatly. It’s like Eli is pouring lemon juice on his open wound, keeping him locked in this one moment of the worst night of his professional life. He loves Eli, loves him hopelessly and earnestly and against his better judgment every single day, but right now he just—he just needs Eli to leave him alone, just needs to get home and unwind and spit up some gnarly looking flowers into his toilet until the unease in his chest settles.

Eli chuckles humorlessly. “Yeah, I know.” He pauses. “Listen, I know you want to get out of there and everything—” he clears his throat, and even in this half-hearted irritation Daniel is feeling towards his mentor, the instinct to cling to whatever comes out of his mouth next is undeniable. “I just—I wanted to call and check in, and, y’know.” He clears his throat again. “Remind y’that I’ll always be here for you. You know?” He hesitates once more, although Daniel can’t fault him because, what? Any lingering frustration has dissolved in an instant. His head is practically spinning. “I’m in your corner, you can talk to me about anything. Especially—especially the football, since I’ve been around the block, but even outside of that—don’t let this eat you up, Danny.”

Danny.

The flowers inside him are thriving off of Eli’s words, how honest and gentle and kind they sound in his ear, he can tell. Daniel thought the cold of Green Bay had numbed everything inside of him but now it’s all fire inside, it’s every feeling all at once. “How am I supposed to do that?” He finally manages, voice coming out as a whisper. His throat feels scratchy with emotion—and with the greenery in him—and he knows it’s going to take a long time to recover from this, even with whatever Eli suggests to him next.

“Well, first, y’come talk to me. I’ve been there, I know exactly how y’feel—more than anyone else, I get it. And I know you, Daniel. I know how you work, how you prepare, and I know how you think. And you gotta know that this—” Daniel pictures him gesturing wildly, like he’s in front of a whiteboard drawing up plays. “—this ain’t your fault. I know you think it is, and y’re gonna keep thinking it is even though I’m tellin’ you it’s not, but it’s not.” There’s more emotion in his voice than Daniel has ever heard—passion, stress, understanding, care, kindness, all there littered in his words. “So you come talk to me, Danny, y’hear? I don’t care how often you need it, we can run it play by play ‘til I know you get it.”

Daniel doesn’t even realize he’s crying until it’s too late. “We just fell apart, E, I don’t—I just—” He can’t finish his sentence, grief seemingly closing his throat. I wasn’t good enough, how could I not have been good enough when everybody needed me most? He wants to say it. He wants to ask, and he really wants to keep listening to Eli tell him sweet (albeit untrue) things.

He wants to, but he can’t. Because it’s not grief that has him unable to breathe—it’s the Hanahaki. He coughs once, twice, to try and dislodge the blockage, but it seems like it’s bigger than it ever has been before, and it’s not—it’s not working—

“Daniel?” Eli asks, voice tinged in concern. If only he knew. “Daniel, what’s—are you alright?”

Daniel can’t answer. He keeps coughing, body desperately trying to purge the green from his body as he doubles over, but it just won’t budge. Again, again, again, back aching from the force, he coughs to clear his throat but nothing changes.

“Daniel?” Eli’s voice is fainter in his ear even though the phone hasn’t moved—or has it? The corners of his vision have begun to blur. He heave-coughs again, bending still further over to try and simplify the path for the blockage to tumble out into a mess on the wooden floor, but nothing comes up and he’s starting to get dizzy. The pain burning in his back is beginning to fade in time with the way his vision has started to lose focus. Is he still coughing? Daniel isn’t entirely sure. He’s not holding his phone anymore, either, which can’t be good, but he’s not sure where it went. Maybe he dropped it. I’ll just grab it, he thinks, and reaches out to feel for it, but the world spins and suddenly he’s on his back, staring up into the bright lights burning above him.

Like the stadium outside. Like the sun this morning. Like the light he used to hear about in church as a kid.

Daniel can’t hear anything anymore. Maybe his coughing spell has passed, he realizes hazily. It’s such an exhausting thing, to suffer from this kind of sickness—it always drains Daniel when he gets out from underneath the heavy foot of his Hanahaki. All it takes is a quick nap to right him, though—he’s so warm, it’s the perfect time to rest his eyes—

Favourite thing

Boldsushi! SASSUSHI! I love how unapologetically cocky and no-bullshit he gets when surrounded by utter madness and at some (many) points he feels like the only reasonable person in the room. He is also literally the most unique and lovable (once you get to really know him) protagonist I've ever read. My boy is so complex and to me, out of the whole cast, he feels the most like a real person.

Least favourite thing

Atp I adore canon Atsushi so much, the only thing I dislike is his fanon perception. In particular - people who just do not get why he's a compelling protagonist and not a "weak pathetic crybaby." I am pointing knives at everyone who still dares to STILL utter those lies this after recent chapters.

...but! Considering that is not an original thought but a shamelessly stolen flirty dramatic ass pick-up line from our second best boy xD I'll give you another, the silly and the serious:

-> oh the amount of times I have rewided to hear this over and over, laughing hysterically every single time, oh dear

Ok now for the serious one:

"Akutagawaaaaaa!"

"People need to be told they're worthy of being alive by someone else or they can't go on."

-> I love this one because of how blatantly wrong he is. And by wrong, I mean having an unhealthy mindset plagued by deep-rooted trauma, and this being the only way he's learned to cope. That's why he's a fascinating character. He's not saying this as a "lesson" or "moral" to the audience, nor as an objective truth - he's simply stating what he believes in and what drives him to keep going. Obviously this is an incredibly dangerous life policy to have because if you surround yourself by people who don't have your best interest in mind, and you rely on them to tell you what your worth is and why you're allowed to live - then you're just doomed, you're playing with the hazard of life and walking the thinnest line between hope and despair.

I can get into how this also connects to Akutagawa’s influence on Atsushi as he, subconsciously or not, helps him grow in the direction of living seperately from his past and abiding by his own ideals (something that is mirrored by Aku's own struggles), seeing his self-worth and taking action EVEN if faced with his biggest fear of being alone, even when the world is against him and there's no one there to pat him on the back and tell him he did a good job, even when everything and everyone has fought for is gone and he's left to pick up the pieces and he needs to believe his strength goes beyond the tiger's prowess, that he exists for a reason and he is enough, he is allowed to believe himself worthy of going on...

...but this wall of text is gonna have no end, so maybe another time!

Kyouka & Atsushi. There is just no stronger familial relationship than those two and their influence on each other's lives is very sweet and very important. For me this hits especially hard in Beast and makes me tear up, just a bit (totally). I also regularly think about the crepe scene and it fills my heart with warmth and joy. Big brother Atsushi, my love, I will die for you (im almost starting to sound like yk who, jesus).

Even tho I will die on my sskk hill, I respect all ships with Atsushi because they're just wholesome and fun if you imagine then in an alternate universe (where Aku somehow doesn't exist *cough*) I guess if you're fooorcing me to choose, I will have to say Dazatsu because it just doesn't make sense to me, I cannot even see it making sense in any universe or scenario - for me they are simply mentor and mentee, barely even friends at max. The hierarchy gap here is just too large, I feel. But I enjoy some cute fanarts here and there for fun nonetheless <3

Random headcanon

He is absolutely ogling every single cutesy tiger-themed article of clothing and furniture he sees but needs to restrain himself due to the imaginary flies coming out of his wallet. Kyouka notices this someday and buys him a baby tiger plushie or some cartoony tiger bedsheets (*cough* which I may or may not have already written into my wip *cough*).

Unpopular opinion

Considering my only habitat is sskk circles with very insighful people who understand his character mmmm it's a bit hard for me to know what is unpopular. But I'm gonna say that his flashbacks to the orphanage are not reduntant at all, no matter how repetitive they get, because it honestly feels like how a real person would experience trauma. It's not sugar-coated or glorified for the interest of the story, it just feels genuine yk?

Ok OK LIsteN. I think, and I am correct, that we as a fandom have failed spectacularly by getting over this panel WAY so soon. Yes, I have the "you fool" one printed out at my desk and I stare at it lovingly every half hour or so, but THIS ONE! Oh, this belongs in a museum. I would pay money if I had to, just to rest my gaze upon it for a mere second. I believe I need not express myself on why it's so magnificent... but I'm gonna do it anyway, becuz who's stopping me, my blog my rules woooo! :D

1. Peak of Harukawa's new art style. Hands down. The softness of his features. The tender look in his eyes. The composition is strikingly dynamic and just heartbreaking to take it all in. There is a dream-like quality to it that makes it feel ethereal, yet it depicts a living nightmare.

2. Oh, the hand reaching out for Aku. The way he turned his whole body to face him mid fall. As if he's seeking comfort because he's scared to die alone and he's scared of leaving his partner, no matter if he knows his strength and believes in him with his whole being. The way there is not an inkling of regret in his eyes, because he's finally done the right thing. It's his closure, his retribution, his response to a sacrifice in his own name that he didn't believe himself worthy of. But now he understands. Need I say more?

‘When In Rome’ doesn’t seem all that important of an episode at first. But then you realize Xena basically commissioned Gabrielle to kill Crassus. It’s painful cause you know Gabrielle is a person that genuinely does appreciate human life and won’t kill just for the sake of it. If it can be avoided, she will avoid it. Yet, she’s forced to decide time and time again for what to do in the heat of the moment and the conclusion seems to always be for somebody to die. Whether it be herself, Xena or other, and sometimes even at her own hand. She said she accepted the consequences of living her life with Xena early in their travels together, but I don’t think she accounted for the fact she’d have to kill just to keep her and Xena alive. Or, like in the case of this episode, to save Vercinix, a good, innocent man and a hero to his people, from being executed at the order of Caesar. It wasn’t just about sacrificing her own life, it was also sacrificing and betraying everything she stood for so that her and Xena could survive. Season 4 was the storyline for this. Choosing pacifism because she believed it was the right Way for her, then breaking it again when Xena was left vulnerable and defenceless and she had no other option but to make that split-second decision to kill those soldiers that were going to kill her. It was inevitable the way she’d end up. Whether it is a good thing or not is up to you and how you perceive the situations that happen within the episodes. Your better judgement.

This is the life Gabrielle chose. To experience and face all the violence, blood and pain again and again, being just as much a partaker in it as trying to stop it from happening… Just to be with Xena. That’s got to be the most tragically romantic, beautiful and powerful thing I’ve ever known. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Xena and Gabrielle truly are the greatest love story ever told, and I’m not just saying it because they’re my OTP. I’ll be damned if I ever find anything more romantic than Gabrielle’s insistence to throw away her morality for Xena. She’s going against her own sense of self time and again just to protect and defend people’s lives. Especially Xena’s. It’s a testament to how much and how deeply she really loves her and that’s so incredibly romantic. Wouldn’t you agree?

This is another episode where no one really cares about the Xena/Caesar fued. This episode belongs to Gabrielle and her struggle to betray her ideals by personally sending Crassus to the executioner. Commissioned and expected to by Xena, no less.

She's the heart of the whole story here. It all wraps tightly around her.

Just like 'The Deliverer', without what's going on with Gabrielle, it's just another cat-and-mouse Xena VS Caesar game and even though I love the Rome episodes, they're not as interesting as you think they are without Gabrielle’s stuff. And as great as all the other writers are with Gabrielle’s representation and development, only Steven truly gets what Gabrielle’s about. Him and Renee really make this show resonate far beyond a villain-turned-hero seeking redemption story.

Without Gabrielle - this show is half its watch value. Well and truly.

least favorite thing about them: literally nothing could make me hate him. ever

favorite line: i have two actually—

That’s all there is to it.” there’s something about the way he says it so coldly, especially knowing he wasn’t thinking rationally at the time; especially knowing that this night will come to be one of his greatest regrets. he sincerely believes what he says, but. does that make any of what he’s doing any easier to digest? does it help him any?

“I’m a hopelessly self-centered and righteous person. That’s why I took your hand to repay the disgraces against me. Not for anyone else’s sake, but for myself!” oh god. first of all the first time I read this scene (and the entire arc in general) I was crashing the fuck out. second of all what I think about this scene is that he isn’t lying, but that he does want revenge for his brother and parents. he isn’t half as self-centered and self-righteous as he believes he is; those things may be true, but at the same time: he’s so hopelessly kind. he cares so much. he cannot be like his brother as much as he tries and he’s buckling under the weight of his trauma. god. my baby.

brOTP: tbh. as much as ciel & sebastian compels me. all of the servants and soma and also sieglinde. cannot pick one over other. the thing is ciel phantomhive is literally a friendship is magic bitch and he’s just in denial about it.

OTP: cielizzie ❤️ this is less in a romance way and more of a weird fucked up fell-for-the-facade way + partnership built on odd trust way. also they are in love. don’t ask me to elaborate I’ll pull up with a whole essay on ciel’s relationships

random headcanon: I saw a post abt this a few weeks ago!!! but!!! ciel needs his walking stick not just for decorative / status purposes but also because he genuinely needs it, since his body still isn’t as strong as it should be with a combination of his chronic illness and his still being underweight and low-stamina after spending so long in that cage. he has chronic pain, too, probably, in addition to an off depth perception that he has since adjusted to. yes the cricket match was hell for him. (<- now you may ask. mari if he’s your baby why are you doing this to him. idk man the logical chain of events says this is most likely to happen despite him being thirteen years old.)

unpopular opinion: okay I’m going to cheat a bit but since r!ciel is ciel phantomhive also. r!ciel is not a little bitch and I do not trust you if you purposefully hate on him ❤️ that is a child under the influence of a grown adult immortal man and has been through exactly what his brother has been through and suffered something his brother will never understand. also does a child being a nightmare not delight you. come on

least favorite thing about them: the casual paternalistic sexism is like, kind of part and parcel of who he is (and makes light's personality make a lot more sense) but still annoys me every time. he says it's not possible for sayu to have gotten the death note, he's basically forbidden sayu from dating boys… it's subtle but it's always there

favorite line: (this is the one line i like the anime version of more) light, my son. from one murderer to another, i'll see you in hell.

brOTP: i am fucking obsessed with light and soichiro's relationship i have like ten drafts from months ago rambling about them in agony. i think the fanon perception of soichiro as unwilling to accept light's guilt is basically the opposite of what actually happened: he doubts light constantly and he hates himself for it. he literally says on his deathbed that he's so relieved light isn't kira, and matsuda says, "o-of course he isn't! you were still worried about that?" (74) and light's face, god. to know your dad secretly suspected you of being a murderer for five years. to know that he's right.

also him and light are the same kind of punitive justice brainrotted to me. the one difference between them is that soichiro can't do the mental gymnastics light can. like, soichiro is determined to bring down "evil" even if he sacrifices himself for it; light is determined to do the exact same thing. and both of their definitions of sacrifice are kind of fucked! light's for obvious reasons (no the greatest loss to the world isn't your pure soul, it's that you're murdering hundreds of thousands of people) but also every time soichiro considers self-sacrifice light is like "what about mom and sayu?" and soichiro just doesn't. care. like he cares about sachiko and sayu but he thinks of their pain as an extension of his pain

does this make sense. okay here's a clearer example: when soichiro says he's willing to die in an explosion if it means bringing mello down with him, and then this happens

task force in the background: hey uh no the fuck we're not?

but also what i love about soichiro is that he can never actually go through with it. mello correctly clocks that he has never killed a person before. he's punitive justice brainrotted but he can't bring himself to write down mello's name. and That is the difference between soichiro and light.

OTP: i think he and sachiko do genuinely love each other. however i am obsessed with soichello by proxy it's so real to me i love that all their interactions are mello reading him to filth. i dont have much to say about it because i have not spent much time rotating mello in my head but I See The Vision. also the fact that what gets soichiro to pull a gun on mello is when mello says he hasn't killed anyone is sooo good it's like soichiro's insecure about it

nOTP: iiii. uh. hm. i can kind of see soi/matsu as a onesided crush on matsuda's end but i can't really see soichiro reciprocating. could be convinced though as ever

random headcanon: okay i know that i just said it's important to soichiro's character that he's never killed before BUT indulge my crack headcanon for a second. some other shinigami dropped a death note into the human realm maybe a year before 11/28/2003. soichiro picked it up, used it once, and then immediately had a heart attack. the shinigami was like wow you are Not meant for this lmao and took the notebook back immediately. soichiro does not remember this for obvious reasons

unpopular opinion: he doesn't actually like being a cop. quitting would fix him. please soichiro please your family loves you you don't have to do this

When it was Rowden’s second birthday, Luke decided he was finally going to let his brothers see his son. It was a mutual decision between him and his girlfriend, they knew how much Jack and Quinn wanted to see Rowdy.

Luke had regretted leaving Y/N that day back in London so he could pursue his hockey career at Umich. If he could travel back in time, he would’ve swallowed his dreams and stayed with her. But he couldn’t—so he was going to spend the rest of his life making it up to her and Rowden for being absent the first year of his life.

“Oh my god.” The voice of Jack breaks Luke out of his daze. He watches as his older brother picks up Rowden, who, despite being a very fussy kid when it came to strangers, smiled contently in his uncle’s hold. “Hi buddy!”

Luke could’ve sworn he saw tears in his brother’s eyes. Quinn, who was currently waiting his turn in the back, wiped his eyes with his sweater, not wanting to cry in front of his younger brothers.

“I cant believe you named him Rowden Quintin Hughes,” Quinn says, his face converted into a frown, only because he was on the verge of sobbing.

“Hey, don’t cry,” Y/N pats him on the back, giving him a comforting smile. “You and Jack have always been there for me back at Hogwarts. You two were like my older brothers. The least I could do is name Rowdy after you.”

“We love you Y/N,” Jack says, his lips wobbling. “Thank you for putting up with our brother.”

His words make the four of you laugh. Rowden, sensing your happiness, claps his hand, his smile ever so prominent. You give him a kiss on the cheek, glad your family was one again, and you knew Rowden would grow up very loved.

(Some hc are humanoids, some are objects :D) -mepad enjoys carrying taco. this random thing in his robot brain just goes "tiny, small legs, hard to walk, must carry." -taco is very weird when it comes to affection, she's more of a "hey i want this but i dont know how to communicate it" while she stands there awkwardly fidgeting -mepad is CLINGY and VERY affectionate, like openly without hesitation just a bunch of kisses, hugs, tooth-rottingly sweet calls like "Yes, dear?" "Love, are you alright?" (i should totally draw taco's response to those) -when taco gets overwhelmed, she might loaf into her shell and sit between his legs while he turns on the heater to resemble a hug and comfort her -in my gijinka version, his eyes are like screensavers and he has blue irises. when alarmed, they'll form an '!', when thinking or processing something, it's a loading logo, guess what they turn into when talking to taco? hearts. -the first time his irises went '<3' was when he was talking to taco, and he was COMPLETELY unaware whilst taco was embarrassed and tripping up on her sentences (to his confusion) -taco and mepad share a lack of self worth, and have a constant need to please people. for mepad, its more or so rooted in his coding and whenever there's an issue, there'll always be a constant nagging at the back of his mind to 'assist' or else it's a job incomplete. for taco, it's also related to her and mic when they worked behind the scenes. she didn't want to be useless to mic, someone she's started to enjoy being around, so she kept trying to go above and beyond and then get validation afterwards. it's the same thing with mepad! she'll walk on eggshells at first to keep him from 'leaving', until they eventually have a talk and her fears go down a bit, whilst she reminds mepad that he's more than a mixture of wires and metal made to help others. -(ep 15)when taco is acting against the rules and being 'villainous', mepad won't interject to stop her because (1) for some odd reason he kinda likes it and (2) she's going against the show, the same show that mepad has grown to dislike for what it does to the contestants so he wouldn't have any qualms about leaving her to it, or even helping her out -mepad RARELY ever gets angry. it's at most just annoyed quips and somewhat sarcastic remarks, but when he's angry? (ep15 and ep17) OH boy you better watch the heck out! on the rare annual occurrence that he DOES blow up on someone, taco internally fangirls and thinks he should get angry more often -after repairing mepad and the stab wound from the finale, taco definitely would have some sort of separation anxiety, or would keep a close eye on him and snap at people for being 'reckless' or 'careless' around him -also if mepad got repaired, he'd definitely have some sort of anxiety with being alone. he'll do routine checks on everyone to make sure they're all still there, but he'll sub-consciously or secretly prioritize checking on taco first. -as i said earlier, taco is very awkward with affection, but she discovers mepad likes being praised (since his system is built on assisting others and kinda like a Baymax thing where he'll tick off the checklist when he's told everything is fine or if his system tells him that) and she does her best to incorporate awkward compliments like "i appreciate your.. assistance. Thank you, mepad." and his eyes will just BRIGHTEN up and you can practically see him smiling -if others are concerned about mepads 'questionable' decision to be acquainted with taco, he'll either respond with a rebuttal thats genuine or a sarcastic remark hidden behind a polite tone of voice -after rewatching II2 i can say with confidence sarcastic mepad supremacy IM LAUGHING SJAHBDS

My unpopular opinion about this character

to me, kirara is a trans girl, and i'm not debating it. i don't care. the evidence is there in my eyes, and my mind is made up. if you believe differently, that's your business not mine. be blessed <3

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

i wish she would have self-identified. i don't need a whole gender speech, but in the english translation at least, neither kirara nor anyone who knows her since she fell out with the school (hakari) ever refers to her with a pronoun or names an identity.

I just went and scanned the japanese, and in a thought bubble to herself she used "watashi" which could be feminine or could be gender neutral. so net zero info gain.

again, to me, there's enough to indicate she's a girl, and gege doesn't like to spell things out like that so i'm not gonna get shocked about it now. but it would be nice to have so people didn't come to me saying kirara "uses they/them" because that's what panda who hasn't seen her since she transitioned used to refer to her without asking <3

26. Who likes to eat healthy/ Who loves junk food?                 You both have a good balance of both. Rita really enjoys her sweet treats, but she doesn’t go overboard on them. She prefers to order groceries from whole foods while you don’t care where they come from as long as its edible. She does rely on take out a lot, but it’s from healthier places, salads, sandwiches, rice or noodle bowls, acai bowls, salmon or chicken and rice with veggies. You’ve even found her some nights with delivery from restaurants that don’t even offer it and all she’s said is “I know a guy…”. You’re the one more likely to indulge in the greasy pizza, overloaded Chinese food or mcdonalds.

27. Who takes a long shower/ Who sings in the shower?                 Rita’s everything shower is over an hour long every single time. You cannot tell me that woman doesn’t have a like 20 fucking step routine between skincare, haircare, dry brushing, etc. It’s also one of the times during the day that she uses to relax, some candles, a nice soft playlist to help her wind down. You’re the one that sings in the shower, though you only try to do it in the mornings she’s already gone for the day in the hopes to not be overheard.

28. Who is the book worm?                 Rita, absolutely hands down. She’s *obsessed* with books and on weekend shopping days will ALWAYS be dragging you into bookstores, especially antique or second hand ones. She’s usually got multiple on the go at once, a couple of fiction with different genres, and a couple of non fiction.

29. Who is the better cook?                 We all know it’s going to be you. It doesn’t matter if you’re not that great. Rita can’t even defrost an Uncrustable properly.

30. Who likes long walks on the beach?                 Gonna go with both of you. You don’t care what kind of beach it is, you enjoy the company, feeling the sand in your toes, the water on your feet, best way to end the day. Rita prefers the walking paths/sidewalks down by the beach so she doesn’t have to deal with the sand.

31. Who is more affectionate?                 Overall, and physically, you. You’re always telling her how much you love her, and are eager to have a hand or arm linked with hers while walking around outside. You’re more likely to be the one stealing a kiss or showing off PDA. It’s in the privacy of your home that Rita goes overboard with her affection. She shows it by physical touch and gifts mainly. Her hands tracing patterns on your legs while they’re strewn over her lap on the couch, she often catches herself watching you with a dreamy smile on her face because of how much she loves you and how much she can’t believe how well you take care of her.

She can talk for hours on end about those deep philosophical conversations that go on far too late into the night. She always enjoys expanding her mind and self educating herself on various topics and loves spending time looking things up and debating back and fourth with friends.

34. Who would wear “if lost return to…” t-shirt/ Who would wear “I am…” t-shirt?                 You’re definitely wearing the lost one, Rita’s the much more sober and collected one, gently guiding you to the car at the end of the night.

35. Who goes overboard on the holidays?                 Rita. She never means to, you’ve likely set limits for prices of presents and she almost always accidentally exceeds it. She never cared much for holidays, thinking they were overrated and never bothered to decorate her home or office when she was single and working all the time. But there’s something about seeing the way your eyes sparkle in the Christmas lights that she has a team fully decking out the entire apartment every single year because she knows you love it. (she does always make sure they leave the tree bare as that’s been made into a tradition the two of you do together.)

36. Who is the social media addict?                 You. Rita is not chronically online. The apps on her phone are much more likely to be various news ones. She likely has twitter and uses it more as a work reference and again, to keep up on current events and news. I DO like to believe that she has a (likely private) Instagram (and we’re gonna ignore the timeline of when insta became a thing/her age for this hc lol). And she’s been posting on it since college, fancy parties, yacht trips out in the hamptons, semi spicy bikini or dress pics, it’s incredibly aesthetic and she thrives to keep the vibe going. She’s got a fuck ton of followers and is like, lowkey Instagram famous, but most of the posts don’t actually include her face, especially as she got older and more concerned with her professional image.

37. Height difference or age difference?                 Didn’t we already do height? Lol. Age wise, Rita’s usually older. She focused on school and work and didn’t want to waste time dating when she was younger. Now that she’s established most people closer to her age are already married with kids. She doesn’t have any issues dating younger, as long as her partner has their shit together and has some ambition and goals when it comes to life. She cant deal with someone who has no motivation and just lounges around all day.

38. Who likes to star gaze?                 This is more leaning towards you. You like to take a moment during each day to appreciate the little things, like this, and say a silent thank you to the world for making such beautiful things. She doesn’t really think about it until you’re out of the skyscrapers of the city, sometimes out in the hampton’s, sometimes it’s a more tropical vacation that she can really see the night sky and there’s no place she’d rather be than on a cozy blanket showing you constellations.

39. Who buys cereal for the prize inside?                 Absolutely you! Which Rita will lovingly tease you about, especially if there is a collection of toys and you continue to buy boxes until you have the entire set. (and naturally you never actually eat the cereal..)

40. Who is the fun parent/ Who is the responsible parent?                 If it came to actual parenting, I think Rita would be a mix of both, but much heavier leaning toward the responsible one. But she’s not having kids, so she’s always going to be the super fun rich af Aunt. She doesn’t do well with the younger kids, but once they’re about 16/17 she can have actual conversations with them, and she’ll be the one sneaking them booze and inviting them out to the hampton’s and letting them (semi responsibly) party on the yacht. She’s obviously the one you’d want to call when you’re in trouble considering her job and she’s also the one that’s never going to whisper a word to either of your parents. She’ll take those secrets to the grave. And she’s also very capable of intimidating the fuck out of bullies or ex boyfriends. She will threaten them with jail time.

41. Who cries during sad movies?                 Both of you. Rita’s a fucking sap so she cries at the romantic movies, you’re more likely the one to cry over the animals.

42. Who is the neat freak?                 I don’t particularly think Rita’s a neat *freak* but she has everything in its spot and knows where her things are 99.9% of the time. She’s organized, collected, tidy, her kitchen’s always clean cause she never cooks lol. And she likely has a cleaning service come to her apartment weekly to help with that kinda stuff.

43. Who wins the stuffed animals at the carnival for the other one?                 You’re shocked Rita even agreed to go to the carnival with you and you’ve promised to win her one as a thank you. While she does have fun, indulges in plenty of food she never would have touched otherwise, and obviously pays for you to play all the stupid, nearly impossible to win games, it’s the giant smile on your face as you turn to her with a lime neon green giant monkey that makes her the happiest. If it had been some random gift from a first date it would have gone in the trash right away, but because it's from you and you worked so hard to win it he gets a name by the time you’re home and either lives on a stool in the walk in closet or has taken up residency in the guest room. (it’s his room now)

Who is active/ Who is lazy?                 You like to get a daily workout in, something as small as a walk around the block on slower days up to a class at the gym or some heavy lifting on days you’re more ambitious. Rita always makes sure to not be too sedentary, especially with an office job. She enjoys the more streamlined workouts, Pilates or yoga, things that she can do in the privacy of her living room and not have to leave the house for on colder days. She doesn’t particularly enjoy running, but will do it when she starts to feel a little too stiff and immobile. On the other hand, she truly enjoys your post dinner walks through the park, hand in hand as you share little stories.

45. Who is more likely to get drunk?                 Absolutely you. Rita will indulge in a drink or two with dinner, a cocktail or two out at the bar, but she doesn’t go much passed that. She doesn’t like to be out of control of herself, especially out in public. She has been known to finish a bottle of wine or two while at the apartment, and definitely gets a little silly, laughing harder and longer than she normally does.

46. Who has the longer food order?                 This is weird. Lol. I’m gonna go with Rita because she likely hasn’t eaten since breakfast and thus is more hungry, opting for an app or two and a full course meal while you’re fine with just a burger.

47. Who has the more complex coffee order?                 Rita. While it’s pretty simple at home, if she’s out and there’s a fancier option, she’s indulging. She probably has some sort of self made up special combination of different drinks. You’d think the barista’s would hate her for it but they all know her by name and have nicknamed the drink ‘The Calhoun’ so it has its own priced button in the computer and sticker label with all the steps for newer staff. (not to mention she tips incredibly on the daily)

49. Who is the driver/ Who is the passenger?                 You’re always the driver if you’re not in a cab/car service. While Rita does know how to drive, she simply doesn’t. I could definitely see her having gotten her licence back in the day and never using it, thus letting it expire. She’s a passenger princess through and through.

50. Who is the hopeless romantic?                 Rita. That bitch is a cold hearted shark who scares or at least intimidates 90 % of the people she comes across in her workday/life but she has this completely other side to her with the people she trusts and loves. She’s the softest, most gentle, caring, tender person who will always put her love first and take every opportunity to show it.

Ohhh thanks for the question! but I might be the bad person to ask this, because I love to talk about her wayyy too much

Send me a character and I'll list:

1) favourite thing about them

I love her so much from narrative standpoint for things she can represent. Her chapter can be a great statement about trauma response that is often overlooked. Fight or flight are great, of course, but freeze just hits home.

In prisoner's chapter her one resort of hope was lost. She made a plead to be saved in the act of decapitation and was unheard. Such a wish broken. To put everything into something to not work out is so painful. Especially the second time. And new attempts would just remind about the helplessness - disappointment is not an easy wound to heal - so it's easier to embrace it. To find meaning in your pain. It is cruel and absurd and undeserved, but it is yours. You can find beauty in its horrors. And it makes it significant. It gives it at least some little sense it needs to not be so painfully pointless. To her, at least. It's her way to survive. (Oh how I love overrationalisation as a way to cope)

And I like how it's shown that it's hurtful not only to her but to people around too. She is not violent herself, but by not rejecting this harmful behaviour she lets the circle of violence to continue. And it what happens when you fall into a mindset like this. You get so focused on endurance that you fail to see the aftermath of your actions. It can manifest as neglect, direct danger or, most often, the suffering your close ones feel watching you. And there's no exit from the cycle but to acknowledge how harmful your coping is. It's not her fault, but it is so. (Interestingly, while the Allegory of the cage ending is exactly like that, No Exit is about bringing someone on the same level as you.... Becoming the same danger you were afraid of..... and to project that fearful worldview onto someone, subconsciously.....I think it can have interesting connotations to real life)

I believe her story can be beautiful allegory to withstanding any traumatic event that gives you no other choice than to accept it. You know: grief, chronic illness, abuse, depression, etc. You name it

Also, there is a reading of prisoner-cage as an allegory to self harming behaviour in my main account. I can't say if it's as good as I remember it to be (I physically can't take a second look at anything I do until a decade passes - yeah, it's a curse thing. never trust fairies), but it's still very dear to me.

2) the least favourite thing about them

I'm a simple girl...... The only complaint I have is deleted dialogue from prisoner........

3) Favourite line

Of course it's "Look at us go. Aren't we beautiful?"

But honourable mention is her head pun because.......I love puns. And "What? Like the answer's obvisous? Like it's staring me right in the face? Just like you?" because it was so funny to find

And sometimes prepositions start somewhere and stretch a looooong way only to remind of themselves again in the end of the sentence - very chain like) and Prisoner speaking Latin (very clear to use intellectual language). Just for fun.

My hierarchy for cage's endings is: No Exit, The Riddle of Steel, Allegory of the Cage

Yeah, I'm so shameful about that, but.... I love tragedies..... And I don't like when the solution to the puzzle is beyond the puzzle....... I'm so glad happy ending for her exists, but it's not for me

Oh and I like the possibility of free will ending. It's horrendous, no doubt, but I'm glad that there is such a choice available. After the horror of withdrawal we can experience the horror of freedom. Absurd of selfexpression. There is something about it

Hellooo! A while back, I made an ask thanking you for changing my opinion on showtime! At the time, I almost didn't send it cause I was being paranoid.

But now thanks to caffeine, I feel no fear!

So tell me, what made you prefer showtime as your otp other than.. Idk, buttonblossom or.. Jax x Ragatha (don't remember the ship name. Bunnydoll?)

Well, it all comes down to Caine himself. He's my favorite character in the show. It all started when I was just looking for Caine art back when I first entered the fandom, I couldn't get enough of him.

At the time, the only Caine ship that really stuck out to me was Showtime, so I latched onto it in a pseudo-self-insert kind of way, but by the time I started writing fanfiction, I had familiarized myself with Pomni as a character and I thought.....this could work.

I'm a sucker for AI-falls-in-love or becomes more human because of someone who cares enough. Think Detroit Become Human. (Loved that game) After episode 2, when Pomni shows her full capacity for empathy to an AI such as Gummigoo, that really sent my synapses firing about "What if she did that with Caine?"

So I wrote my first Showtime oneshot, "Creative Liberty" and haven't looked back. Technically I wrote the first few chapters of Raceway first, but that was when I was still familiarizing myself with the characters. I consider Creative Liberty my first real showtime fic.

While Showtime is most certainly my favorite, it's not my only ship. I'm a "multi-shipper" So my brain can easily move around the characters and pair them up in a lot of different ways that I still enjoy. That's why on my main blog I tell people "all ships are welcome." Even the crack ones lol.

Because like Goosworx herself said, "Ship whoever you want, just stop attacking each other!" We're here to have fun! Thank you for your question. This might have been a bit more in depth than you were expecting, but I wanted to answer honestly.

PS- Jax x Ragatha is Bunnydoll and is my second favorite overall ship :3

PSS- The only ship that I'm like eeh on is RoyalCourt (PomnixKinger) especially after episode 3. I ship them in a father-daughter way, It's hard for me to picture them in a romantic sense.

TL;DR- This episode was inconsistent to put it politely. I will not continue such niceties below the cut. You've been warned.

I'm going to start with the good. The jokes with Satan and his...therapist?? are delightful, and considering how awful this episode was, I will take it.

The bit where the rest of the imps are tormenting Stolas felt so good, but I'm aware we're meant to sympathize with poor wittle owl boi can do no wrong uwu. So that missed by a mile.

While it wasn't consistent, this episode had some stunning animation. Kudos to the team, especially those working on the shot where Stolas is lifting his cape in the song. That and the slow turns were beautiful.

If the second half of this episode existed in a vacuum, it might have hit its mark. But it doesn't. This is TOTAL tonal whiplash. Completely unearned and obnoxious. Once again, we have the biggest helluverse problem:

I don't want to put in the effort to earn my drama. I am relying on the fandom to fill in the blanks so they cry.

The song is horrendously demeaning and bad. He's belittling him because he's in a place where Blitz can't fight back. You can't convince me that I should go from the tone at the start of the song to the end.

GOD i hate these two. there is nothing appealing left. They are a hollow, pathetic shell of what we were promised. this is "messy" in the way a dumpster is. This isn't some artsy spill of candy. This is trash with glitter poured all over it.

Suddenly we're getting Blitz's "truwe" feelings all dumped on us in the span of a single musical number. This is TERRIBLE. You have been so stingy with any level of development on his end that this feels like a car getting t-boned at an intersection. I guess "self indulgent" is code for "I didn't want to put in effort, i just wanted my OTP." Which is fine in a fandom sense, but this is a SHOW. You have to actually make us believe they feel like that. You have FAILED, and you're still trying to give yourself the prize? Man, you are deluded.

This was total dogshit. This was a rushed attempt to get Stolas in Blitz's house/bed. This was nothing short of MORE woobification of this dumbass owl. HE DID THIS TO HIMSELF. IF ANYTHING, THIS IS A SLAP ON THE WRIST.

He's a privileged piece of shit that is so babied by the writers that even his PUNISHMENT is nothing. So he's banished, but only for a hundred years, which is nothing to an immortal. If you're trying to bring him down to be on par with the imps, you've failed.

He's still going to get his job back in the future. He's still going to have money in the future. He's still going to have power in the future. If anything, you should have had the punishment make him be an imp for those years.

But no. You're so obsessed with him that you've centered the whole plot around HIM. Not I.M.P, not Blitz.

HIM.

This show has become so derailed at this point. Each episode is (somewhat) fine on their own, but you can't sit there and tell me they have any level of consistency. I keep thinking they're going to hit their stride, and they keep failing to do so. This is pathetic.

I'm very close to giving up on this series. Even analyzing it has become a chore. You aren't fun to watch, or make fun of. You're just mediocre.

I so desperately want these shows to have better writing. I want them to have quality and be successful at the same time. But currently we only have the latter and I fear that will wane in time if Vivienne doesn't get her head out of her ass and put in the effort I know her to be capable of. You can't keep coasting off of your pilot fans forever. I implore you to have someone work on the tone and consistency of the helluverse in the future.

Somehow Helluva makes Hotel look like high art, and that's a shame. When it was only the pilots, I truly adored Helluva. It had wonderful characters and great humor.

But here we are.

Not, they I can recall of.

BSD Cast can react in two different ways.

First: GL start shipping them before BSD Cast got into the real world/GL learnt about BSD Cast being real.

BSD Cast will be neutral towards it. They do feel weird about shipping thing, but understand, that it is a way for a GL to express their love towards BSD Cast. BSD Cast won't look on GL's saved shipfics, shipping arts.

When BSD Cast got into the real world, during their first conversation with GL, they will not only explain the self-aware situation, their plans for future and said their thanks to GL. Characters, that GL shipped, will said, that they aren't judging or blaming GL for your fic/art preferences, but, they will really appreciate it, if GL dropped it or, at least, won't try to play a matchmaker and try to make their OTP true. Because the situation will become equally embarrassing, weird and confusing.

Second: After BSD Cast got into the real world, GL are "shipper on deck".

BSD Cast will be mostly fine. As long as GL respect their feelings, don't lie or try to force their OTP them into relationship with each other, BSD Cast will find it somewhat cute and endearing.

UGH. i love him HOPELESSLY. i love the tragedy!!! the STORY the NARRATIVE is just so beautifully constructed it's unbelievable.... hm. non-romantic bennybrax? refusal of non-nuanced view of him and acknowledging his deeply complicated and tragic nature? He Actually Cares For the benny cast and not just benny, he just doesn't show it and uses them for his plans anyway as he believes that's how he can keep them safe. self-made villain brax. deeply traumatized and exhibiting understandable and concerning reactions to it... just. lots of things. oughh.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

hm. for just One Thing, i really wish simon guerrier'd had a good grip on his character while writing the wake. i really like lots of the concept and bits but due to no undertsanding of brax it's just? weird? like Why Would He Do That. (v. dedicated benny analysts have analysed, and i agree w them... brax Could Have done those things for complex reasons but i would have really liked it being shown in the episode itself. love you benny analysists<3)
