Weirdest habit/trait? As a child, I ate sand and crayons and dental picks and ice and fake plants and etc. The impulse still lingers.

If you could have any job you wish, what would it be? Hm. Ballet dancer or nonfiction writer. Probably too lazy to be the former. ;)))

Something you're good at: Dissecting human emotions/motives? Maybe? Making food smell good. Writing rather well (when I have something to write about), though it doesn't have a higher education polish.

Something you're bad at: Communication, in-person. So awkward-- which is my own fault, and something I'm working on!

Something you love: Chocolate. Ice water. T. S. Eliot's poetry. Cold, nippy mornings (rare where I live.) The smell of a cold, green environment. Swimming (bad at it, though.) Ketchup. A song that doesn't depress me.

Something you could talk about for hours off the cuff: Season 8 of The X-Files, probably. So much good that ties directly back to the first seven seasons; so much bad that can be easily ignored without changing its own canon.

Something you hate: Misinterpretation. Uncharitability. Immovability.

Something you collect: Stickers, when I was a little child. Have a sticker book (Bugs Bunny on the front, I think) filled with them, dating back to kindergarten. 00s made the best stickers.

What's your love language? I used to think it's Touch-- though that's incredibly important-- but I've come to the realization it's quality time.

Favourite movie/show: The X-Files. Good Will Hunting (most parts.) The Last of Us, Beauty and the Beast 1987, Frasier are new gems. I prefer watching people watch TV/movies than watching 'em myself.

Favourite food: Steak? No, it's chicken. Can't go wrong with chicken.

Favourite animal: Dogs and rabbits. Dogs because I adore them (and they adore my sister), rabbits because I owned two lovable, cranky ones.

German Shepherds and Flemish Giant rabbits should rule the world.

What were you like as a child? Shy, quiet, mischievous. Always up a tree or running away from home. If I did something I thought was clever, I'd look at the ground and try to hide my smile.

Been reading the latest argument that you posted and I was wondering, what is your genuine opinion on Yamato outside of ships? You rarely talk about him (and you rarely talk about Mimi I noticed) not gonna lie those two are my faves (mostly because I love Gabumon and lilymon so I like their kids too) so what's your genuine opinion? Do You like them because you have to like them or do you dislike them because they get in the way of your ships(mostly Mimi x Koushiro but also Taito always gets better moments than Taikou in my opinion) so I was wondering what you actually think of them as individual characters?

Okay, first off, I am sensing a bit of hostility and passive aggressiveness in this ask - and I understand where this is coming from, I am actually not surprised at this and assume it was just a matter of time until it would come after the recent exchanges. Some friends of mine had their issues with certain fans of certain ships going after fans of other ships. Which, in my opinion, is not how fandom discourse should go, but I will just try my best to answer this diplomatically.

So I'll put up a disclaimer first: Just because I personally don't share the same favourite characters (and ships) doesn't mean that you're not allowed to like them! My order, from most to least favourite, goes like this and if it's not the same for you - that is fine!

Koushirou - 2. Taichi - 3. Sora - 4. Jyou / Hikari - 5. Takeru / Mimi - 6. Yamato

In regards to Yamato: A few weeks ago, I was already asked how I felt about him and I did answer. It's true that, among the original 8 Chosen Children, he is my least favourite and he - or rather his portrayal - does grind my gears at times, but that doesn't mean that I'd write him out of the story or anything like that - he has his purpose, he is an important part of the group, I adore the Yamataikou friendship trio (and, in theory, the Yamataikoura friend group we should have gotten more thoroughly) and Jyoumato is actually one of my favourite Digimon Adventure relationships (platonic and romantic) overall due to their dynamics, impact and how they play off of each other. Since my reasonings may sound emotionally loaded, I can understand if you don't agree with the post I linked above - and like I said, that's perfectly fine if you view him differently than I do.

In terms of shipping, it's a very personal topic that may cause us to react more emotionally than we need to at times and, just like with the characters themselves, we all have our biases and preferences too. For example, I am not the biggest fan of Mi-/mato (and Kou-/mi, as you have mentioned as well), because I personally do not consider them to be romantically compatible - but please don't let that stop you from liking them! Like I pointed out in my analysis, I can understand where people see the potential after all.

It's also not true that I never talk about either Yamato or Mimi - I have just recently conducted a fully fleshed-out fashion analysis about Yamato and Mimi's is still in the works as well (also, all my analysis posts can be found here). Mimi may also be lower on my favourites list overall, but I still would never want to miss her, because, again, she is one of eight puzzle pieces you simply cannot think away - especially if you consider her impact on Sora and Jyou and their respective character arcs and development in both Adventure and Tri! That also goes for a purely platonic angle once again (even if I like them as ships as well). In general, I have my very own ideas on who has the most impact on whom.

I just found it sad that you felt the need to underline that "Taito always gets better moments than Taikou in my opinion" - considering you came to a person who loves Taikou/Taishirou as their OTP. It felt condescending to me. But if that's your opinion, me listing all their, in MY opinion, wonderful and meaningful moments together may not convince you otherwise. You're favorite pairing is Luffy and Law? Mine too! I love the Luffy and Law moments in every One Piece media. Yes, I'm a girl who secretly loves this pairing. In Film Red, my most favorite part of the movie is the dynamic chemistry between Luffy, Law, Bartolomeo, and Bepo. It'll be hilarious if Law and Bartolomeo has unexpected encounter. At first Bartolomeo ignored Law and Bepo, only for the polar to jump in comical style. 😊😂

Yes, Law and Luffy are my hands down OTP like to the point I literally forget who I shipped before them xD. Something about mutual saving of lives and two people who understand loss and what it’s like to be unable to save those you love. Law was there for Luffy in his darkest hour and Luffy helped Law accomplish his goal of defeating Doffy and finally getting revenge for Cora.

I also am a sucker for the golden retriever/black cat energy and sun/moon pairing of these two. They just complete each other and make up for the other lacks. Luffy is the light in Law’s darkness and Law helps ground Luffy. I could go on and on about all the reasons I love them both as individual characters and together but I will stop there.

Their dynamic has infinite possibilities and you can make them fit into basically any story or AU. I enjoy them as top law/bottom luffy, top luffy/bottom law, and switch law/luffy.

Film Red is so funny Law is just having a rough time there. Barto has such a funny dynamic with Law like I think he’s def jealous of him and his closeness with Luffy, even refusing to feed him until he says it’s for Luffy in the anime. Law lowkey annoyed that Barto worships Luffy, I think he’s a little jealous too hehe. Bepo is also just the most perfect fluffy bestie for Law and any interaction with him is always so cute. He loves his captain!

... now this, took a minute to answer in some ways. There a lot of ships I like, so this was really easy and hard to answer at the same time. Some ships it was an immediate yep yep and others I had to go '... but is it a fav of all time, though?" But I think I got it narrowed down.

So here we go, fav ships of all time from any media, no particular order. I didn't get any specific no. to do so I'll just list a handful until I can't think of any others. (Anyone who comes across this that sees a ship on here you don't like and feels the need to say something about it, stay in your lane this ain't about your opinions it's about mine.)

The main FMA ships

Arakawa Hiromu, nigga, you cooked. Imma just put the FMA ships as one and leave it there because if I do it separately, we'll be here all day. But if you wanna see me diving into why I like these ships in a manic ramble, here's a post I made on that here. The romance in FMA is literally a category and a discussion all on its own that I can go about on for hours. FMA has the best romances in shounen so anyone who has consumed FMA will know what I'm talking about. Like, whenever anyone tries to use a manga being 'shounen' to justify shitty romantic writing, I point at FMA's brilliant riding. An animanga's demographic is not an excuse for terrible executions in romance. EdWin, RoyAi, LingFan, AlMei and all the side ships drank and left no molecules.

NaruSaku

Toxic shippers, again, stay in your lane, I don't feel like dealing with y'all any day. I have been shipping this shit for years, always have, always will. Ignore the fact I ship Sakura with literally everyone from the Akatsuki to Hinata to Sai to Shikamaru. (Y'all I used to look up Kisame/Sakura fics, unironically TAT). (Same for Naruto honestly, I've shipped him with Sasuke, Ino, Temari, Tenten, the list goes on and on.) The way Sakura goes from finding Naruto annoying to almost dying multiple times to keep him safe, I will never EVER be over that. Naruto's love going from puppy to something as passionately red as the thread of fate itself. The MinaKushi parallels. I have a lot (and I mean a lot) of ships in Naruto pertaining to these two, but NaruSaku is my absolute favorite. Like it was literally confirmed that Sakura got over Sasuke and then it got retconned for some bullshit. Saying it with my whole chest, argue with a wall, it should have been them. I won't dog any other ships, but yeah, it should have been them. 699 chapters of Naruto being in love with one woman, I sing the praises everyday.

SakuHina

Hinata's prince charming is literally Sakura. I have a whole ass fic I am slowly, painstakingly writing about what Naruto would have been like if Hinata had a crush on Sakura the whole time. I just think they're really cute together, have amazing chemistry and balance each other out. I didn't expect to like SakuHina as much as I did but here we are.

Kyoru

I mentioned it before in another answered ask but Fruits Basket was my first manga (if you're curious what my first anime was, it was Yu Yu Hakusho) and Kyoru was probably my first OTP. There are two characters I think upon so many rewatches and rereads that were prime game for who Kyo and Tohru could have ended up with had things been different (which, I do really ship as well. Multishipper here guys) but I'm not mad about the endgames that we got. From start to finish, Kyo and Tohru's relationship is beautiful and you can feel how strongly they feel for one another. It's like, wow, Takaya really gave us one of the best ships in shoujo and didn't even apologize for it.

Klance

Red + Blue = True. They had chemistry, supplemented for what the other lacked and we really don't need to have me diving into the bs that was VLD. That show wasn't even out long, my god, it was a mess.

NeuviFuri

Should I explain to you the romanticism of Hydro x Hydro? Oof how I love them. A Genshin ship after my own heart, truly. But if anyone is trying to against MiHoyoverse (I was here from the Mihoyo days, leave me alone) in terms of seeing who ships NeuviFuri more, we all lose. They literally paid people to do an ice dancing program in NeuviFuri cosplay, paid a guy to make a companion piece to Furina's song from Neuvillette's perspective and several other animations concerning their relationship in some way. But the Mihoyoverse shenanigans aside, it's the build up of 400+ years of working together, the care they still have for one another and yes the complementary abilities and color palettes. Not enough time in the day to talk about them, I don't think.

Almost thought I wouldn't have a gif for them, then I remembered THEY GOT A MOVIE. Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe is one of my favorite books in the world. I have reread it once a year religiously since 2017 when I first discovered it. This is such a beautiful novel and relationship and if you haven't had the pleasure of reading it or the sequel, please do yourself a favor and buy it or rent it from your local library. It's just, the way Ari has been in love with Dante for so long and didn't even realize it but it's so, so clear to the reader because of just how he talks and describes him? I don't even want to go to deep into this one just in case there's someone here that hasn't read this book because it deserves to be read and experienced blind. Just, just please y'all read it.

i love the way he also holds such an admiration for his gang, the older ones, like how he likes two-bit's humor, nd how he's scared of dally because he's 'so real', i love how much he loves sodapop, nd how he doesn't understand darry until he finally looks at his older brother, i love him and johnny's relationship—two quiet children connecting through silence.

i also love how he's unafraid to be different from his family, not thinking much about how much he likes books when the others don't, how he thinks he isn't able to talk about softer things with the gang mostly because they wouldn't understand it—rather then him being scared they'll make fun of him for it.

i love how he's able to deep dive into the works and strings of the world and his friends—like understanding what dally loved, understanding that two-bit doesn't often face serious things without humor—but isn't able to understand things when it comes to himself.

one thing i wish would / had happened in canon

it's kinda weird, but i wish it had extended more on after the events of the outsiders—because i know in the end it shows him being more comfortable with johnny and dally's death, but grief shows up randomly on days? like? there's no way that he wrote the outsiders and then just moved on, having to portray how johnny and dally died with his own words.

having to understand that at a point, johnny did want to die, having to understand that when johnny left, dally had to join him.

he had to write that out, and i just really would love to know how he handled that, if he struggled writing those parts out, if he had to stop writing one day because it was too much, if maybe there was a time he didn't want to continue it—to choose a different topic for the assignment.

favorite thing about them: uhhh...so much? he gets me right in the FEELS, man. he tells on himself constantly and seems to be completely unaware. sadboi footballer with pretty dead eyes who loves to Read and took a little notebook with him on the team bus. the intersection of having it easy/privileged childhood & traumatic things that shouldn't have happened--i relate. exhilarating to watch his old performances and he seems like he'd be fun to have a conversation with. fascinating to analyze, this all feels sort of reductive...i'm very Fond of him and some of it is hard to put into words, but i feel very "what's not to love?" about him lol. and he has such a Narrative. he's very easy to write about though it probably doesn't turn out well at all (sounds great and deep in my head though)

I didn't want to make a post like this but things have gone too far. I am still not mentioning names. If you know you know, if you don't know, ignore this post and be happy that you don't know.

Yesterday I went on a blitz of blocking people I was told had been sharing my private DMs and talking shit about me behind my back with an artist who is freaked out that I told them I wouldn't take down a reblog, and then explained that they are popular with RavWave shippers, and that I didn't know who they were until other shippers sent me their stuff, because their art does look shippy to us.

It seems that a lot of the people who are really mad about this (and you're welcome to share this one post of mine with those people, though I do not appreciate that their friends have been stalking my blog in general) think that I was trying to ARGUE with that person.

Much as their motivation in drawing the art was not to depict my OTP, my motivation in telling them that they accidentally did was not to argue with them about how they should view the relationship. It was information about why people get what is apparently the wrong idea about their art.

If I were writing or drawing something that was being misinterpreted all over creation, I would want to know why.

Then I would be armed with the knowledge to decide whether or not I wanted to do things differently in the future.

"I don't care what those people think" is a valid decision. So is "hmm, maybe she has a point." Whichever decision I made, I'd want to make it as an informed decision.

I feel a little sorry about this giant misunderstanding, but I'm absolutely disinclined to apologise because:

Their first message to me was insulting. Many people believe that it was a "polite request". But polite words can be used in a thoroughly rude and nasty way. There is no nice way to tell someone that you think they're so nasty you don't want your public posts appearing on their blog.

Saying no to requests is a thing that people are allowed to do.

Their second message to me, which evaded my block because it was sent to another account, was blatantly offensive and went into the quality of my family and relationships. I didn't respond to that because I'd have gone off.

They have their friends stalking my blog and have admitted to doing so, and have responded to venting on my part by vagueblogging in my own blogs by telling everyone that they're the person I am annoyed with and here are the receipts. Seriously, wtf?

I only know this because I'm trying to block all the assholes who are reposting my personal conversations with them, a thing i only know because a friend of mine told me so after receiving a demand they unfriend me.

This person and their friends are sending anon asks to my friends, or in one case, publicly demanding in an RP community, that people who want to interact with them unfollow me, because they will not interact with anyone who interacts with me. Go the fuck back to high school, Regina.

Don't put icing and sprinkles on a pile of shit and tell yourself you gave someone a chocolate cake. This person has never been "nice" to me.

Under the cut: why IDW Ravage would never allow herself to be handled like a pet cat, and why RavWave shippers feel the same way about the Earthspark deleted scenes, even though we know that's probably not what the showrunners meant us to think.

I have come to the conclusion that's it's just another case of antis thinking that if you can see two people in a non-platonic relationship that they think of as family, you're just nasty. Especially if the feline shaped character is being handled like a pet cat.

But the person who said "I look disrespectfully on anyone who ships this, that's just a goof and his cat" has missed the entire point of these characters' relationship. Soundwave would never treat or handle Ravage like she was a pet cat.

Anyone else who says RavWave shippers are nasty because "it's NoRMaL to handle your cat that way" is fundamentally not getting who Ravage is and how she feels about being touched.

Ravage is a sapient adult mech with a full range of sapient adult feelings, and touching her like she's an animal is a microaggression or a macroaggression, depending upon where and how you touch her. The oppression of beastformers is a big fucking thing in IDW 2005. Other beastformers also complain about constantly having to deal with unwanted and disrespectful touching. (Fortress Maximus is a known offender.)

IDW Ravage is sleeping in Megatron's bed throughout MTMTE (when she's under it, she's guarding him). She only allows him to touch her neck in front of others...because behaving like a pet cat increases the chances that people will treat her like one.

(She almost cut Nautica several times. That's another character I ship her with, because what would be funnier than her realising that this actually is a whole ass person and if she can't stop touching her, she might actually be attracted to her?)

(Note: Canonically, Ravage in IDW uses he/him, and I do know that. However, about half the fandom writes Ravage as female. I'm in that half.)

BTW, I feel exactly the same way about the Earthspark deleted scenes. Every RavWave shipper on the planet does. We've talked about it. We realise that the artists and showrunners probably intended it to be innocent on the grounds that she is a cat. But we are also people who like to write her as an adult Decepticon officer with agency and self-respect who wouldn't behave like that in front of other people unless they knew he has privileges they don't.

I am aware that half the fandom draws Ravage art that's basically cat memes. (I hate that so much. But as a proshipper, I recognise people have the right to depict characters any way they want. That doesn't mean I haven't had to vent to people like @bitegore and @miner16 to keep myself from saying something.)

Also, I strongly suggest that people who get this worked up about misinterpretations of their art or writing do not become professional creators. As a member of fandom since the 1970s, I'm kind of super extremely aware that most of what fandom does is counter to what the creator intended, and frequently that's the point.

I'm also kind of super extremely aware that if you don't have loads of people reinterpreting and remixing your work and your characters, that actually means nobody cares about your work enough to have blorbo feels about your characters.

(The side poll, which came from another blog and mentioned no names, was an irritated attempt to find out whether people really do think it's normal to cuddle your mom that way, because the second message insinuated that my mother and I must have a terrible relationship because we don't touch each other like that. I kinda wanted to know what people who were not predisposed to take my side and did not know what was going on would think of that idea, because I really do not think most people touch their mothers like that; their mothers aren't nonsapient animals and would thus consider it weird and inappropriate.)

Perianth because years, years ago, when I was a little school kid, we learned about the build of flowers. My teacher said something like:

No, I don't think you're hypocritical. I totally get it and can relate to you. It's hard to suddenly love m/m ships from something that we love since young age, when what we love mostly are m/f ships from that series, right?

See, I watched anime since childhood and my first anime were One Piece and Detective Conan. Guess the most famous m/m ship from One Piece? ZoSan (Zoro/Sanji) and fyi that ship have inspired real life BL mangaka with that ship's dynamics (including one of my fav BL mangaka). From Conan, it's Kid/Shinichi (for me now, this series have too many het romance, I mean everybody end up with somebody?)

One of my moots asked, how come I don't ship them. And my answer is, sorry those series are my childhood's beloved series. At that time, I still love m/f ships only and don't read any BL/GL media or even ship any same sex characters. So, I just can't see them romantically.

Then as I grew up, I began to love more the dynamics of same sex characters (especially between male ones) compared to het ones.

For your top 3 favorite anime/manga : Naruto, Gintama, & Attack on Titan, I started them because of my friends who love their otps. So, I knew a few people who wrote fanfics and drew fanarts for those ships. They asked me to start those series and asked who are my fav ships. I did and I do have favorite otps from those series.

From Naruto : NaruSasu (one of my fav non-canon ship until now, my friend's no 1 otp), MinaKushi (yes, somehow I love this ship even when they're m/f bcs they're so good together), and HashiMada (old man yaoi, enough said).

From Gintama : GinHiji (love their dynamic, you can't imagine how many doujins they had, also my other friend's no 1 otp), I love Kagura so much, but I don't really ship her with anyone (sorry)

From AoT : Please don't hate me, especially now that I know you love Levi. My fav ship is Levi/Eren (love their dynamic, potential for fics and one of my friend's otp).

No problem! Hi once again! Thanks for your continued support. I posted my answers to the MXTX Ask Game yesterday. Sorry, it took so long; I've been dealing with a lot. I also wanted to apologise for it being so long—I rambled too much again. I hope that my answers met your expectations. Since every MXTX work is exceptional in its own way, it's difficult to compare them. I totally get where there's no unanimous standout in the fandom and everyone has their own favourite.

Yeah, I totally agree. As sad as it is, I'll never be able to ship M/M ships from the shows I watched in my childhood before I became conscious of BL/GL shipping. Thankfully, not many anime fit under that umbrella because most of my formative years were spent obsessing over Naruto and not giving any other anime a chance—embarrassing, I know. For me, Naruto, Bleach, Angel Beats, Charlotte, Ouran High School Host Club, Made In Abyss, and Attack on Titan fall into that bracket. It was actually BNHA that made me start shipping BL pairings. While I don't ship BL/GL ships in those aforementioned series, I can see value in some of the well-founded ones and know if I had started them today, then I would most likely have shipped those pairings wholeheartedly. P.S. I love MinaKushi too. They deserve more screentime! I started Gintama in late 2019/early 2020 as was in my BL phase at the time. So I do like GinHiji, I just slightly prefer the dynamics of GinTsu and GinTaka. I read a lot of GinHiji doujins too lol (they make up pretty much 90% of Gintama doujins available, lmao)... I totally get why people wouldn't ship Kagura with anyone; as for most of the series, she's still young and uninterested in romance. I'm just a fan of the enemies to lovers/rivals to lovers/friends to lovers trope. So I ship her with Sougo since I like their synergy. Though I don't condone people using OkiKagu to sexualise her character pre-time skip.

The great thing about Gintama is that it's quite self-aware; so, they throw bones to practically every group of shippers while they simultaneously avoid verifying anything. So the fandom is much more inclusive than any other shounen fandom. Levi and Eren are my favourite AoT characters, and I used to have a friend who was very into Levi/Eren so I get it. I almost had a phase myself since at first I wasn't a fan of EreMika. However, around late season 3, my best friend had gotten me sold on EreMika and they've really grown on me. I'd like to think that I've matured enough to be amicable about ships. So I wouldn't hate someone who had a different opinion from me so long as they didn't harass me about it. There have been times when my best friend and I have disagreed about ships, but it hasn't come in between our friendship.

Admittedly, the content of my blog will gradually shift since Naruto, Gintama, and Attack on Titan are over—so there isn't much content to post about... I'm not artistically talented—so I can't contribute with fanart and animatics—therefore I rely on reposting, editing, and analysing canon content. I'll continue to do my best, though—especially in new fandoms that have currently captivated me. Wow, another Akatsuki no Yona fan! They need to give us season 2—I swear the manga is so good! I don't think Kija x Jaeha is that random. I could see it... I just honestly never put much thought into shipping other than Hak x Yona since I had a long-standing premonition the dragons would die somehow.

As for your recs, I've actually seen many of them lol... So I'll do a quick run-through of my thoughts and ships in each:

➜ Haikyuu is actually my 3rd favourite sports anime. I used to post about it and read a lot of fics back when season 4 was airing. I went to see the movie in cinemas last year too. While I like most of the fan-favourite pairs—KageHina, BokuAka, and KenHina were featured in a Valentine's Day Ship Post I made 3 years ago.

➜ I'm fond of SK8 The Infinity as well and am excited for the upcoming OVA. I ship both RenGa and MatchBlossom! (P.S. Matchblossom is such a good shipname.) The SK8 dub is one of the only anime dubs I like—it's so unhinged.

➜ I watched Buddy Daddies back when it aired. At first, I thought it was a simpler ripoff of SpyxFamily, but it really grew into its own thing towards the end—and I grew to like it more and more. I quite like how concise yet open-ended its ending was. Not everything needs to drag on, you know...

➜ I've seen BSD too... Though I have quite complex, contradicting feelings about it. While the powers and setting are cool, it's one of the only series that has ever consistently confused me. Like, what is the actual plot of the series? What are the characters trying to achieve? Its lack of consistency both intrigues and frustrates me. I feel like my lack of knowledge of classical literature doesn't help either. Since I'm not fond of the art stystyle, Idly don't fangirl over anyone from BSD. Ironically, my favourite ship/duo from the series would probably be Shin Soukoku.

➜ I've only seen half of Death Note. Sadly, my first introduction to the series was that awful live-action movie... So I didn't bother watching the anime for several years...When I finally did start the anime, it was decently good—but I stopped midway since an AoT fic I'd read years before came rushing back to me and had spoilt most of the upcoming plot points for me. So all the tension and stakes were ruined for me.

➜ Moriarty The Patriot is one of my favourite anime series. I really liked that it delved into deep topics like classism, morality, and social justice. Sherliam is one of my favourite BL ships. Hopefully, they'll continue the anime series someday. I don't think I've ever done any posts on the series... But I will if I ever think of something appropriate.

➜ A year or 2 ago, after finishing the Given manga, I was motivated to start a couple of music-centric anime... I typically try out a few episodes of 3-4 shows and then choose between them. I know I ended up going with Kono Oto Tomare and Uta No Prince-sama. So I think the one I ended up not going with might have been Idolish...Or no scratch that I think it might have been Ensemble Stars... I'd have to go watch episode 1 again and see. So I'll have to get back to you on this.

Thanks for all the recommendations though. Sorry, I've seen most of them already. If you were looking for recommendations yourself, then I'd recommend the following (based on what you've said and recommended):

⦁ Link Click/Shiguang Dailiren really toes the line between canon and non-canon well with its main duo—in part due to China's censorship laws. I don't want to spoil anything since it's very suspenseful, but the show falls into the mystery, drama, and time-travel genres. It's available in three languages, and the latest season has introduced even more intriguing characters. (P.S. The music in this show is absolutely amazing.)

⦁ Ron Kamonohashi's Forbidden Deductions is something I'd recommend to all Moriarty The Patriot fans since its MC is a descendant of both the Holmes and Moriarty bloodlines. It's more episodic and lighter in tone than MTP but no less intriguing.

⦁ Tsurune is sports anime centred around Kyudo—a traditional Japanese form of archery. Just like with Haikyuu and Sk8, it focuses on a lot of M/M duos and rivalries. Its animation is stunning, and the themes it touches on are insightful.

⦁ Owari No Seraph/Seraph of the End is a shounen anime that heavily centres around the ambiguous bond between its two leads—Yuu and Mika. There is an array of other complex relationship dynamics between its other characters as well. Its post-apocalyptic setting, music, and action sequences are somewhat reminiscent of Attack on Titan's earlier seasons, given that both series were animated by Wit Studio.

⦁ Windbreaker is a shounen anime centred around a group of delinquents at an all-boys school that have banded together to protect their town and its people from nearby thugs. Its characters and their interactions with one another are really endearing. While the fights aren't as flashy as other battle shounen, the series covers various significant themes and has significant character depth. The character design and character interactions are my favourite part of the series.

Because in the midst of the madness of the show, all I wanted was a good Simon from the books (or even film), and a good one on top of it all. I was losing absolute hope, until I came across your blog via, via and via x 12. And you know what happened then, I fell in love with that ridiculous portrayal, and I dumped myself into your askbox like the world's most stubborn koala bear, and I insisted that I'd get to talk to, and then write with you. Now I know, I know, the latter didn't really ever happen, but I did get to talk to you. Especially about Jimon, and that's where it all began (🤭)

And then we lost touch for a while, but I followed you on any blog that I found of yours, cause you already had me wanting to stay, I wanted to stay as of quite early on. And it's because I already thought back then that you were an incredible writer. You've always had a way of writing that you never lost (and only got better at): this immeasurable ability to change the air of your writing to fit who you're writing for, which then creates the world that you're writing these threads in perfectly, that we then get to write them in with you. You do that so easily, it's why I love to reread anything you write (bias for our ships, of course, massively so), it's not just the dynamic, and the ship, it's how you write the scenes, you make it so easy for me to close my eyes and envision the entire scene that you wrote perfectly. And I don't just mean see, but also feel it, along with my own muse's reactions— they're so vivid. Everything is. From leaves that fall to the ground, to the way his (usually) expressions change gradually from contentment to anguish and every moment in between, or vice versa, making each every line of dialogue or gesture so incredibly poignant where they move me to the edge of my seat. It's incredible how you do that, I'm in awe of it each time. And the flow, THE WAY IT ALL FLOWS, I could read your stuff out loud all day, you know.

I know all of this is likely incoherent as hell, so let me add in my closing argument. Min, I stay because you blow me away, because you're magnificent at all of this. It's why I trust you through and through with the characters that you pick up (some of them being my absolute favorites in their franchises), and it's why I entrust all of these immense and beloved ships of mine to you, because you write them brilliantly, and you surpass expectations every single time.
