It was a nice night to just sit in and relax, he owed you that much. He's been working so much and the only thing that Atlas wanted to do was be alone with you.

Taking a sip of his whisky, Atlas tilted his head to the side. He could see the tired expression on your face as you made your way over to him. "Come here my dear." Opening his arms out for you, you practically slipped into his arms.

Your face nuzzling into his neck as you gave a smile up at him. "I'm so happy you are here right now Atlas, I missed you."

Letting out a deep chuckle, he ran his hand down your back then pulled you in for a soft kiss. Your eyes closing tasting the sweetness of the whisky on your lovers lips. It only made you want him more, your fingers clutching his tie tightly.

"I have been working far too much lately, I do apologize for that love." Atlas's eyes darkened for a moment as he easily lifted you in his arms. "I will remedy that. It is wrongful that I've been neglecting you so much."

Wrapping your arms around his neck, you couldn't help but feel giddy as he carried you off to the bedroom. "Wonderful."

“Mmph, Izuku, wait—” Shinsou’s protest was clenched as he tried his best to refrain from giggling at the contact. “Y-Your hahahair, it tihihihickles!”

“Hmm?” Deku glanced up, taking his hair away from his boyfriend’s chin and allowing him to relax for a split second before the greenette grinned up at him in that way he only did when he was feeling a little evil. “What, are you saying my hair is too soft for you? You don’t like how it feels?” Then he buried his face into his partner’s neck again, shaking his head so his hair would tickle him purposely this time.

Shinsou squeaked and pushed Deku away, scrunching up his shoulders defensively. “That’s not what I mean and you know it.”

Deku put on his best puppy eyes. “But you said you wanted to cuddle with me. I can’t help it if my hair is tickling you. Do you not wanna do it anymore?”

Shinsou had to fight to keep from pulling him back in immediately, ticklish neck and chin be damned. Those eyes were downright criminal. He cleared his throat. “Of course I still want to cuddle with you. It’s too cold to be sitting by myself. But…maybe we can try a different, erm…position?” He winced.

Deku’s lips twitched as he fought down a smirk, then quickly shifted into a dramatic sigh and scooted further down the couch so when he lay down this time, his hair would rest on Shinsou’s clothed chest. “There, is that better?”

“Yeah,” Shinsou agreed, settling back in relief, getting comfortable. “That’s bett—HEY!” Suddenly he squealed when Deku lifted the hem of his shirt to kiss along his stomach. “W-Whahahat are you dohohohohoing now?!”

“I was going to kiss your face and neck, but since you wanted me to move, I have to kiss you here instead.” Deku’s voice was innocent, but the gleam in his eyes was absolutely anything but. “What? Ticklish here, too?”

“Y-You knohohohow I am – Izuku! Don’t you dare!” Shinsou screeched just before his boyfriend decided to be an absolute villain and blow a raspberry along his lower stomach near his hipline. “GAHAHAHAHAHAHA I TAHAHAHAHAHAKE IT BACK!! Y-You cahahahahan cuddle me up here – wait, don’t do it AGAHAHAHAHAHAHAIN!! SHIHIHIHIHIHIHIT!!”

At this point Deku was laughing as well, effortlessly keeping Shinsou’s wrists away as he blew another raspberry, then went back to kissing, drawing all kinds of giggles and snorts and cackles from his adorable boyfriend. “Oooh, you said a bad word! Guess I’ll have to tickle you a little more for that, Toshi~”

“IZUHUHUHUHUHUKU!!” Shinsou cried, tossing his head back with unfiltered mirth when the smaller boy finally slipped a finger inside his waistband to dig into his incredibly ticklish hip. He bucked and flailed, pleading, “YOUR HAHAHAHAHAHAIR!! I WANAHAHAHAHAHANT YOUR HAIR INSTEHEHEHEHEHEAD!!”

Deku finally let up after another minute of playful tickle torture, scooting back up so his head was tucked under Shinsou’s chin – just where it was always meant to fit. “See? Doesn’t tickle so bad now that you’ve warmed up to the feeling, right?”

Shinsou let out a breathy giggle and wrapped his arms around him, digging a teasing finger into his ribs to make him jerk and giggle as payback. “You’re right. I guess this isn’t so bad after all.”

@digimon02countdown Day 7 - What do you love about Digimon Adventure 02?

While my attachment to Digimon started and persisted due to my love to the original Adventure, there are still quite a few things about 02 that always kept me around. I have already hinted at it in previous posts; the relationships, similarities and support between the "older" and "new" Chosen Children, the concept of the multiverse, Jogress evolution (also the fact that my OTP are absolute dads to the kids)... But I'd say the most important aspect for me is the bonding between the characters. And nothing signifies this more for me, nothing is as outstanding, significant and vibrant - as the development of the relationship between Daisuke and Ken.

I would argue that, overall, no relationship gets that much focus, that much visible positive development than these two. And yes, upon getting asked, I will never deny that, in my opinion, there is a sense of romantic tension between them too, but in this post, I just want to write about how fascinating, soothing and beautiful their bond is to me in general.

Their initial set-up is, once again, that of rivals. That is a theme Digimon has always been playing with - but I'd say no other series threw that trope for a loop like this before. On one hand, there is the fact that they're both playing football, even ending up facing each other at a point in the series where Ken is still considered to be that perfect, untouchable genius, good at and with everything, while Daisuke is considered a thick-headed knucklehead, goodhearted, but brash and not really talented in many areas - and yet, he still admired Ken at this point. Then of course, there is the fact that they're on opposing ends, enemies in the Digital World, having brutal, cruel fights against one another as Chosen Child vs. Digimon Kaiser - until the spell breaks, with the Crest of Miracles breaking Ken's curse.

And from now on, the boy - who's responsible for his own Digimon partner's death and the suffering of so many others - will have to face the aftermath of what he's done, dealing with guilt and self-esteem issues, feeling unworthy and unlovable.

But then there is Daisuke - the only one who immediately wants to give him the chance to atone for what he's done. He is not forgiving him right away, but wants him to be able to make up for everything - and with kindness and the persistence to not let him sacrifice himself and die, they achieve the unthinkable: Their Digimon combine, their hearts pound in sync. They seem to be connected in ways that make Daisuke get excited - and scare the heck out of Ken. He thought he didn't have anything or anyone else but his reborn Digimon partner and family, and now there's this boy he used to fight, he used to be enemies with... Who simply wants to be his friend, who wants them to be "partners" and work together.

It's confusing, it's scary. While Daisuke is sure that they're meant to be and fight next to each other, it takes time for Ken to feel ready to take the steps towards him, the others, forming bonds, friendships. But Daisuke being Daisuke makes it so much easier for him to let his walls down, slowly but steadily enabling him to show his gentle and soft side, starting to trust and rely on him as much as he does in return.

And Daisuke? Daisuke is displaying a sense of confidence and comfort that we rarely saw before - he tended to be so focused on impressing others, covering up his own insecurities with cockiness. But his bond with Ken makes all his natural kindness and straightforwardness come through easily. He may appear more simple-minded at first glance, but his heart has the right priorities - and he'll do what it takes to save Ken, from himself, from darkness, helping him to be his true self.

Daisuke doesn't doubt their connection for a second - and that's why it's so important that Ken is still able to shake him. That he has an impact on him like no other. He will give Ken all the time he needs to face his demons, to do the things that are uncomfortable to him - and he'll be by his side all the way.

They are partners, they've got each other's backs. And as long as they don't lose sight of themselves and each other, it will always be this way.

February OTP Drawing Challenge : Day One - First Date

“Soundwave you will meet me outside in three groons do you understand?” Megatron’s voice caught his TIC off guard as Soundwave had been quite engrossed in his work. When the mech turned to face his leader he almost smiled at how stiff his superior was. About two weeks prior Soundwave received the request of a lifetime, Lord Megatron had asked is Soundwave was comfortable with his lord courting him. Of course, Soundwave had accepted. He had not quite had a name for the way he felt towards the tank mech, at first he thought it was admiration, or loyalty. But after that Soundwave figured out that it was love. The since then Megatron had spent far more time and talked far more with his TIC. They would spend breaks together and even share energon. Soundwave quickly shoved these thoughts aside and spoke a short, “Affirmative.” To their plans. In frount of anyone else, especially on the bridge, they had to remain strictly professional. Though than again the closest they got on being nonprofessional if frount of each other was genuine laughter. Honesty, Soundwave was extremely excited for the meet up, or as humans would call it, date. Neither of them had ever had a partner, so the inexperience was mutual.

That night was a lovely temperature for flying. So Soundwave was in a good mood when he met his lord on a cliff ledge near where the Nemesis was docked. Soundwave hadn’t really expected anything so being treated by a checkered tarp and a few cubes of high grade was shocking. He look to his lord who stood at the side, he was sheepishly fidgeting with his hands the were tucked behind his back. Though Megatron’s leadership and passion were enchanting, Soundwave truly fell for the Megatronus obsessed, awkward and playful bot underneath. D-16 may not be around anymore but those charming element stayed and the blue mech fell head first for it the first time Megatron had let his guard down and spoken about his hero for two straight groons. Soundwave hadn’t loved every second of it. “What do you think?” Megatron looked up with a false stern glare to see what reaction he would receive. Soundwave simply walked forward and took his lords hands in his, “Setup: Tolerable.” Megatron snorted hard a places a hand on his forehead, “and I thought you would be easy to please.” Soundwave shook his head ruefully, “Soundwave: Pleased by Lord Megatron’s presence.” With that a soft smile dance across the tank mechs lips, “I thought I told you to drop the ‘lord’ when we are together?” They both turned to face the tarp and settled down atop it. High grade was not easy to get which made Soundwave feel very warm inside. They sat in calm silence as they sipped their drinks. Finale, Megatron spoke, “one day Soundwave,” he reached for the moon with one hand, “this war will be over and I will give you Cybertron to rule over at my side.” His smile was filled with ambition, promise and love. Soundwave slowly leaned on Megatron’s shoulder, “Soundwave: will give his Megatron that victory.”

That night was one that both would always remember.

character breakdown; Ratchet

Character Breakdown:

How I feel about this character: Everyone's favorite Autobot medic! He's grumpy and snaps at people frequently, but he really does care more than he lets on. I love how even despite his general attitude, he would do anything to help the people he cares about, and he's willing to put his snarkiness aside to help others. And he's generally the smartest person on the team when it comes to making risky decisions.

All the people I ship romantically with this character: Drift, Wheeljack, and Ironhide, in that order.

My non-romantic OTP for this character: Ratchet and Optimus are a good platonic pair. I enjoy their prewar and postwar dynamics. Ratchet is like the friend who said "I told you so" when he said your ex was a bad choice of partner. Also Wheeljack and Ironhide of course as well, since my number one romantic ship for him is still Dratchet. Wheeljack is his explosive mechanical engineering partner and Ironhide drives him nuts.

My unpopular opinion about this character: I'm not a big fan of the TFA voice and design. I think it's fine, but my favorite version of him would be TFP's by far.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I wish we could've seen more fluff with him and Drift in MTMTE. I feel like the build up of their relationship was mostly off screen or implied. Also, I feel like exploring Ratchet's coping with the horrors of war should be looked into. Personally, since he was kind of a party animal when he was younger, I think he's always been a drinker, but developed an unhealthy coping mechanism with it because of how many patients he's lost. His dwelling on those he couldn't save is a really interesting quality about his character, and I'd like to see more of Drift and Ratchet helping each other heal from their bad habits.

And if it wasn’t obvioussss 🍬 (don’t give me angst I can’t take itttt)

Ever since James was a kid, he could remember the cacophony of aromas in his Pa’s potions lab. They always overwhelmed him, and for that reason, when he began Potions lessons, he didn’t actually like it. He was proficient enough, but it wasn’t his favourite. He could tell it was the same for Remus, in the way that Remus wrinkled his nose and grimaced at everything, stepped back from the cauldron and let his partner do all the work while his own gaze meandered to the doorway, where it lingered longingly.

When the Marauders realised Remus was a werewolf, it made sense why Remus hated Potions, and James always found himself watching Remus watch the exit, a pang in his chest, ricocheting away from him and towards Remus, back to him, towards Remus, a sonorous tugging. He began partnering with Remus in order to let Remus lay off, instead of glaring at him disdainfully the way other partners would.

Even though James hated Potions, it felt good to be helping Remus. If he was doing something for Remus, whatever it was, he found himself loving it automatically.

It was lucky his Pa specialised in potions. When Wolfsbane came out, brand new, not even available to the public yet, Fleamont had his hands on it and confirmed, “Yes, it’s safe. Relatively easy to brew, for me at least; I am a revolutionary Potioneer…”

After Fleamont’s long declaration of his extensive skills (arrogance may run in the Potter family), James asked, “Can you… well, my friend is a werewolf, so…”

Fleamont stared at him. “I know. Why else would I start talking to you about Wolfsbane, you pillock?”

James scowled, trying to reel in his amusement because that was not funny. He asked, “Can we make it for them? How long does it take to brew? We need to make a large stock of it, they’ll need it for every full moon, and we need to keep stocking up because there are a lot of full moons to come in the next century, and Pa, can we hurry up and make it now?!” James waved his hands impatiently, pushing Fleamont into the lab.

Fleamont laughed, “Yes, of course. Anything for your Remus,” he smirked, eyes glinting mischievously.

James gaped at him, then spluttered, “What? I— Get to work! And keep the fact that he’s a werewolf a secret, because even though it doesn’t matter, for some reason, that’s the first thing people see about him. There’s so much to him, do you know how brave he is? He’s ten times braver than all the Potters combined, and I thought we were about bravery, but then there’s Remus! Every full moon he picks himself up and lives his life, and he’s really stubborn, he definitely belongs in our family; he determinedly ignores me telling him to rest and faces all his classes, all the people. He goes through so much, and through all of it, he’s the kindest person I know! He’s never angry, he has every right to be, but he never takes excuses, he’s real and upfront and—”

Fleamont clanged a cauldron atop the table in front of them and raised an eyebrow. “Shall we begin?”

“Yes!” James nodded vigorously.

“Pass me seventeen leaves of wolfsbane,” Fleamont instructed, holding out an expectant hand as he stared into the pits of the cauldron. James scrambled around for the ingredient, meticulously counting exactly seventeen, plucking them from the plant with care he didn’t know he possessed, gently placing them in Fleamont’s hand.

“Thank you, jaanu. Crush two mandrake leaves to extract their juice.”

James scrupulously squeezed the leaves until they were wrung dry, drained every drop of juice into the cauldron, watched how the wolfbane swirled and dissolved within it, a green, marshy concoction. He wrinkled his nose at the odour, but then he thought about Remus, and he decided he liked the natural, leafy smell.

It was the scent clinging to Remus’s sweaters after trekking through the Forbidden Forest, russet brown twigs decorating that unruly caramel-coloured hair, mud smeared over freckled cheeks, smudged beside little scars across his chin, embedded under nails and in the ridges of large, rugged hands. It was warm, earthy, old, sweaty, tangled in Remus’s arms and nose buried in Remus’s neck. In fact, James could breathe in this smell for days. He wanted to be overwhelmed by it.

“Acha kaam kiya!” Fleamont grinned, throwing his wand into the air in triumph. “Shabash, beta!”

James reflected the grin, squinting slightly. He had no clue what had just been said (it was times like this when he wished his parents had taught him Hindi), but he got the gist of it. ‘We did it! Well done! We should love ourselves, kiddo!’ or something like that.

The potion shimmering in the cauldron rose from the surface like a warm blue wave in an icy blue breeze, rolling off into clouds of blue smoke which filled the air around them.

It smelled disgusting. James opened his mouth, the tang on his tongue, but Fleamont interrupted, “Adding sugar renders it useless.”

James frowned. “But Remus needs sweet things!”

Fleamont shrugged, “Give him a kiss after he drinks it.”

James stammered incoherently.

“James! This is too much,” Remus protested, shaking his head. “Wolfsbane is expensive and time-consuming, I won’t accept you doing this for me.”

“Remus, Moony, Remmy Rem,” James started placatingly, “My family has more money than we’ll ever need, and I want to spend all my time on you. You can’t stop me, so just accept it.”

Remus faltered. “You’re delusional.”

James widened his eyes in exasperation, Do you hear yourself? He tipped his head back, breathed deeply, and returned to the conversation yelling, “PAPA!”

“Yeah?” Fleamont poked his head into the room.

James pointed at Remus accusingly. “Remus won’t take the potion.”

Fleamont gave Remus a crestfallen expression, which had Remus looking a mixture of guilty and annoyed all at once. James almost felt bad, except it was too funny to feel bad about.

“Remus, beta, you’ve got to let us make the potion for you. I never realised how much I missed the routine of Potioneering until I got the chance to fall in love with it again! Brewing Wolfsbane is just like brewing hair potions!” Fleamont squealed, delving into a lecture about the complex intricacies of potions and the way they tied into each other.

Remus bit his lip as he listened, nodding along as the heat in his eyes softened to a warm, honey brown. “I— well, if you like brewing that much… are you sure, Mr. Potter?

“Remus,” Fleamont grabbed him by the shoulders and peered intently into his eyes. “I have never been more sure about anything in my life.” Casually, he released a still frozen-in-shock Remus, “And call me Monty. I would say call me Pa, but James might find that a little—”

“Okay!” James clapped his hands. “Thank you, Pa,” he pushed him pointedly out of the room.

“Thank you, Monty,” Remus called after him, before glancing at James questioningly.

James ran a hand through his hair, “So… Wolfsbane might taste really gross…”

“I don’t care. All I care about is how you made it for me,” Remus smiled.

James stared at that smile for a very long time. His gaze flicked to Remus’s eyes, and with a slightly raspy voice, he whispered, “I… could make it sweeter.”

“Yeah?” Remus prompted with a raised eyebrow, stepping closer to James.

“Yeah,” James echoed softly, head tilted to meet Remus’s, and they were breathing, breathing, and James could feel it over his skin, warm and earthy, the scent of trees and outdoors, books and indoors.

“Thank you,” Remus murmured, before their lips touched.

It was the most overwhelming whirlwind of smells and emotions James had felt, simply from that delicate brush of lips, but he wanted to be overwhelmed by it, more and more and more. He wrapped his arms around Remus’s neck and pulled him into his mouth, nose pressed into Remus’s cheek because James could breathe him in for days.

In my ideal world, Baxter x Sir Pentious would have been endgame. I mean, i’m pretty sure they are canonically, or at least originally meant to be, ex creative partners, and we all know what THAT means.

They were two of Hell’s most brilliant inventors, but they could never quite manage to make it big. They worked behind the scenes, making a living by providing weapons, elixirs, and the like to big gangs and overlords. They were also both secretly in love with the other, but never voiced their feelings, Pen because his deep seated insecurities and low self-worth made him believe it was impossible for anyone to love him, and Baxter because he didn’t know how to deal with or process his emotions, and didn’t want “matters of the heart” to get in the way of his work.

Baxter never cared much about fame or notoriety, in fact he much preferred to fly under the radar. Pen however was always desperate to find his place in the world, somewhere he could belong and have his achievements appreciated. Overtime he became bitter, and started insisting that he and Baxter should use their inventions to get themselves power and notoriety. This created a rift between them that eventually led to them going their separate ways, and eventually becoming rivals.

Baxter ends up staying at the hotel, which of course causes issues when he finds out Pen is there too. They of course start fighting constantly, and trying to one-up each other. But of course they can’t help but admire each other’s work, and keep end up getting along by accident.

After a while, they form a begrudging friendship, which progresses as the show goes on. This culminates when one late night, Pen drunkenly admits he always held a candle for Baxter, but never had the confidence to tell him. After hearing this, Baxter becomes withdrawn and nervous around Pen, fighting with his inner turmoil and the feeling he doesn’t want to face.

Pen of course assumes he has offended Baxter and ruined their friendship once again. He feaks out, and ends up leaving the hotel without telling anyone, causing Charlie and the others to panic because they actually give a shit about him in this version.

Baxter tracks him down, finding him in their old shared lab/house, now abandoned and run down. The two of them have an honest conversation, in which Pen admits that his fear of being an outcast and his desire for love and acceptance has caused him to sabotage the relationships in his life (and death i guess) that actually mattered, but that the time he’s spent with Baxter and the others in the hotel has helped him to value the place in the world he does have? instead of the one he wants.

In turn, Baxter confides in Pen how his experience as an outcast has lead him to become jaded and closed off, and gave him the mindset that trusting or caring about anyone will only ever be detrimental to him. He also admits that his time in the hotel, especially his relationship with Pen, has challenged that worldview, and finally tells Pen that he has feelings for him.

they come off as a couple who proooobably dont love each other, but everytime they interact its like fate decided that they were meant to be an old married couple bickering until their last breath. just constant playful banter and rolling their eyes when their partner does something dumb, but stifling a laugh at the same time

frank takes advantage of radfords idiocy for sure. he tells him to hop in his van cause hes got puppies in the back, and rad of Course believes him and gets in. theres some kid in a bag, and rads asks who it is cause thats,,, not puppies. frank isnt answering, and the next thing you know hes got rad in his arms to keep him from squirming away cause he Needs him to go up to the cashier at the gas station to get something and hes on bad terms with just about everyone in town, and radford gets along with everyone. so he has to do it

radford is a little difficult to control, he cannot stop going "dude no we're gonna get in trouble!!!! we're gonna get in Soooo much trouble oh my god dude my uncles a cop. do you know what hes gonna do to me!!!! DUDEEEEE" to everything frank does. frank tells him he can disguise as a woman to sneak into a bar theyre driving to, and radford is suddenly immediately on board with the plan

i think theyd still totally get along though. they could hold a conversation for Days at a time and love listening to whatevers on the radio. rad introduces frank to mafia and car chase movies cause thats what frank likes the most apparently. franks got movies too!!!! he stole them. but for radfords sake hes not gonna tell him that

What’s your OTP for your muse(s)?

I try not to have any one OTP though I have repeatedly said and still stand by that ships with fellow Phantom Thieves do have the strongest groundwork for a romantic relationship since there's already that bond or trust. Like just going over the Phantom Thieves really quickly.

Akira/Ren/Joker - I think that Joker was probably his first true friend in a long time and someone who almost immediately proved himself to Ryuji as a good and stand up guy - I think he admires Joker a lot whilst also recognizing Joker carries a lot of weight on his shoulders and I personally see him as trying to bring some cheer, trying to ease some of Joker's burdens as best as he can.

Ann - They've got that middle school connection even if they weren't really close friends - throughout the game, they've got that playfully bickering dynamic which could easily be read as flirty if you wanted to see it that way. The two along with Joker and Morgana were the first of the Phantom Thieves and I just feel they especially have such a strong bond and a strong foundation for a relationship. I also just feel like they'd have a lot of fun being together.

Yusuke - I do love that one skit in Mementos where Ryuji offers to take him out for ramen and after their initial rocky introduction, I can genuinely see Ryuji being protective over Yusuke and wanting to bond with him, not wanting him to be lonely - I think their contrasting personalities and interests would make for a lot of fun.

Makoto - I've always felt he's quite in awe of her, she's student council president and carries so much shit, she's also a complete badass in combat - similarly to Joker I feel he'd want to ease her burdens and be there for her however he could.

Haru - Haru is someone who at her core is incredibly sweet, I just love the idea of these two gardening together and bonding and spending time together. Definitely among the more underrated ships in my opinion.

Akechi - They'd honestly make a fun enemies to lovers ship, it's fun to flesh out their dynamic much more through RP!

Kasumi/Sumire - They've got a bit of an athletics commonality and I feel like if they spent more time together, something could potentially develop, they could become closer.

I also think he's cute with Mishima and it's fun to talk about shipping him with P3 and P4 characters like Chie, Naoto or anyone else! I like to think I'm pretty open-minded when it comes to ships.

What are you willing to RP when it comes to shipping?

Barring anything grievously problematic or inappropriate (like a relationship that's abusive in any way, shape or form or has an uncomfy age gap) I like to think that I'm pretty open minded - whether it's a pre-established ship, slow burn, even if it's more unconventional like friends with benefits situation. If someone wants to potentially ship their muse with Ryuji I'm absolutely open to hearing them out and hearing what they want to do as well as contributing some input of my own and I suppose maybe because I've had so many awesome partners who've never really tried to push or test my boundaries, I haven't thought of anything that would make me really uncomfortable, barring what I mentioned above - pretty much anything short of writing outright smut or porn. Just not comfortable doing that, especially if the muses in question are minors.

How large does the age gap have to be to make it uncomfortable?

I mean if you're looking to ship with a 16/17 year old Ryuji - a high schooler - and your muse is an adult, that'd be an instant no from me. I have of course done verses where he's a bit older and is a young adult and likewise, I'd never want to ship an adult Ryuji with a much younger muse. So yeah, absolutely no adult/minor relationships on here - it's either teenager/teenager or adult/adult.

Are you selective when shipping?

I mean if someone is interested in shipping but our muses have never interacted I do at least ask for some interactions to gauge the chemistry first but I don't consider it being selective or testing them, we're just checking the chemistry, you know? Wouldn't want to write a ship where they feel more like siblings than they do like lovers.

Also having a relationship with the other mun does help but it's not a necessity - so long as we're both comfortable and willing to respect each others' boundaries, that's all you can really ask for - I will tell them if I feel uncomfortable with a certain aspect of the ship or ever wish to drop them and I expect them to do the same for me. Can you break down Rook Blonko from Ben 10 Omniverse?

Hey! I hope your doing well, arlakos! Always nice to see ya! <3 How I feel about this character: As much as I actually adore Omniverse (which I do believe just comes with a bias since it does remind me of Sonic a lot) I have no real strong feelings for Rook beyond that I do really like him. And it helped that when I watched Omniverse for the first time I had a soured taste in my mouth of the previous two Ben shows from when I was little (which, I'll be honest, I think outside sources just made me hate those shows, they're actually quite good so little me was just being silly) which meant I didn't actually like Kevin and Gwen much in the beginning so I wasn't constantly comparing them to Rook as partners for Ben. I feel like this helped me cozy up to his character a whole lot more. But now that I have actually rewatched the other two shows, I actually do prefer at least Kevin as a companion for Ben but I still find it completely unfair to compare them since Rook is fundamentally a different character to Kevin and Gwen which I'm actually very happy they did. It would have been so easy to just make him Kevin and Gwen in one character but this dude is actually his own person and I appreciate that. My only real complaint with Rook is near the end they kind of just forgot about him so he ended up just being another character that kind of makes fun of Ben but still helps out. Occasionally he went back to old Rook, of course, but it was quite aggravating. And there wasn't any cleverness to it. It just seemed mean-spirited. But I really blame that on the writing. They clearly had this idea for Rook and when he wasn't a main part of the storyline for an episode they had no clue what to do with that idea so they reduced him to basic mean-spirited humor. All people I ship romantically with this character: I'm gonna be 100% honest with this; Ben 10 is one of those shows where I find romance just bogs down the show and is in no way helpful to it so it's very hard to actually ship anybody. Specifically people who have actually been couples in the show purely because it's so clear that they were only prepared to write an action show and not romance scenes. I'd love to say Kevin and Gwen are an exception to this but, while they certainly have better moments than literally any other couple, even they sometimes fall into this trap. I say this because I have absolutely have no feelings for Rook's actual relationship in the show beyond it's kind of cute. Rayona has little to no personality and is purely there to be the girl Rook but with none of the fun. I'm happy to see Rook happy and they are by far one of the least problematic ships in this show simply because they do next to nothing with them. So, while I will say I ship them, it's very freaking minor. Now Rook and Ben? I certainly think there's a fun case to have there. I actually believe they have infinitely more chemistry than Rook and Rayona. But I am not a diehard shipper of them like most of the Omniverse fandom seems to be. But they are definitely above Rook x Rayona.

My non-romantic OTP for this character: Well that's really freaking easy. Ben and Rook all the way. Like they're so fun to watch together. Rook being hilariously more "down-to-earth" while Ben is pure chaos. But it's not as simple as Rook calling out Ben's very flawed logic, it's actually far more fun. Something best enjoyed personally rather than explained. Which I'm very happy to be saying this because it would have really sucked if they introduced this guy as Ben's new best bud and then Ben and him wasn't the non-romantic OTP. But since that was probably very obvious I'll give you two more. I actually quite enjoy Kevin and Rook purely for the pure chaos it causes and they're both seemingly unaware of it and then they both get to geek out over tech. And of course, Rook and Gwen. They're both the most "down-to-earth" characters in the show so they bounce off each other pretty well and it's simply hilarious to see how they both have to deal with Ben.

My unpopular opinion about this character: Okay, so I guess this is my most unpopular opinion... I do not care for the idea Rook would be more cat-like. Hilarious coming from me, someone who is a diehard fan of catpeople (specifically catboys, seriously ask @koo1creations she'll tell ya) but I just don't feel it fits Rook and I actually find it kind of ruins what I enjoy about the character. The whole thing with Rook is he's very elegant in how he approaches anything and giving him a more "feral" (for lack of a better term) appearance and actions takes away the magic of Ben and Rook's chemistry because now they're both rather chaotic, I guess. Plus, losing his tail is actually a sign of growing up in his culture so I find it accidentally makes him seem "younger" which also ruins a lot for me because I find him being clearly older and therefore more mature than Ben far more entertaining.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened to this character: I wish he freaking appeared in the reboot. Like I may not have watched it yet but I'm frankly annoyed he was not a character especially since some other characters from Omniverse were. He was at least referenced I guess but that doesn't make me any happier. Like Rook is very unique and a fun character so to ditch him is unfortunate. I imagine he was probably a character the writers may not have felt confident in writing in a new setting since he was pretty much the only thing well liked among most Ben 10 fans about Omniverse. Everything else was very controversial. I suppose there's also always the possibility they just didn't really care for him but at least wanted to leave some nods to him for the other fans but I prefer not to think the negative of the writers especially since, even though I don't love it, I can tell the people who wrote the reboot really loved all of Ben 10 and did their best to make a great adaption.

I mean, the show makes this a tricky question, given that most sinners died a long ass time ago. my portrayal of angel died at 32 but technically has existed for over a century - bro is an old man. I don't really see a limit to how old of a guy Angel would go for LMAO. he's 109, let him have his old man yaoi moment.

mmhmmmm. I'm happy to write with the intention of shipping with husks, but for other ships, there HAS to be chemistry. I have a lot of scattered thoughts about Dungeon Meshi vol. 9, actually. (gonna talk about spoilers below)

-Marcille has a definite habit of misjudging and infantilizing the other races. Comes with the territory of being an elf. Even so, she seems to take that tendency to the extreme with Fallin. Maybe it's because Fallin was so young when they first met? I do think it's interesting though to view it through the lens of Marcille having unacknowledged romantic feelings for her. Loudly insisting that Fallin's just a little girl who needs looking after is a lot safer than examining the depth and nature of her attachment to her best friend.

-that said, Marcille x fireball OTP

-The look of pure excitement on her face after being told that she'd just been killed and brought back-- babygirl, you are just as much of a freak as all these other weirdos in your party.

-Speaking of, Laios' internal moment of "oh, but I'm the freak?" when Marcille casually mentions having eaten fish testicles.

-and to continue on the subject of the dynamic between these two characters specifically, there's a lot to unpack with Laois' succubus taking the form of Marcille, his initial reaction to it, and the way that it ultimately goes about winning him over. So much so that I don't know where to begin with it, really.

-everyones' succubi have some interesting implications. Marcille having the romantic sensibilities of a middle school girl and/or telemundo-addicted abuela. Even Toshiro, who calls his servants family, was so quick to leave her behind in the dungeon when she went MIA. I do love the moment where she pauses to consider the idea of her beast half as a companion and partner. OTP ended with Marcille/fireball, Izutsumi/self-acceptance is my new ship.

-(in light of the nature of her succubus, I'm choosing to interpret her as aro-ace btw. girl CAN still appreciate the raw sensual power of a panther tho.)

-Chilchuck's dad side really comes out where Izutsumi's concerned. The way that he tries to guide her to the "right" answer when she's frustrated with the rest of the group, how quickly he assumes responsibility for her seemingly disappearing, and the fact that he's the first to suggest looking for her despite in no way being physically up for it when he's normally mr. pragmatism. I am such a sucker for adoptive parent/child dynamics.

-oh yeah, why did that cute little page spread of "monsters that steal your heart" on chapter 60 kick off with chil having a nightmare about his three daughters being axe murdered (by himself?) and senshi getting ensnared by a vision of his former party alive and embracing him. all drawn in a chibi style. Ryoko Kui has really mastered tonal whiplash.

all of that isn't even beginning to touch on Kabru, Mithrun, and the massive lore drops, but I'm gonna have to come back to that later.
