Even more Steve Has Older Siblings AU add-ons:
1. Steve wanted to be a ninja so bad when he was little but Hawkins didn’t have any martial arts classes he could take. Jason offered to ‘teach’ him. This was just an excuse to throw him around a bit but they had to stop when he accidentally dislocated Steve’s elbow two weeks before basketball tryouts.
2. Anytime his dad decided to be a good father, he’d send Steve to his grandparents for the weekend that the other kids were at their house and then do activities with them. Steve didn’t mind this at the time because Grandpa Otis told him cool stories about the war, but when he got older he realized that it was a really fucked up thing to do.
3. Steve thinks that Richie is spearheading fixing their relationship because his own kids live in a different state now, but it’s actually because Will Byers went missing. He called the house six times in between Will going missing and being found, and no one picked up the phone once. It genuinely scared him, especially because he heard their dad bitch about Barb going missing at their house. Steve was mainly screening the calls but for one of them, he was fighting a monster.
4. Carol fucking hates Steve’s siblings so much. She used to cut tiny holes in their bedsheets with fingernail clippers when she’d come over on the weeks that they weren’t there. Later when she worked the summer at the movie theater, she’d spit in their drinks.
5. The first time Steve’s siblings meet Eddie Munson (sans Richie) is after the murder charges are dropped. It’s also in the middle of a forced family dinner. They’re all sitting there awkwardly and then heard the door fling open, and Eddie shout out as he moved through the house, “Harrrrrington, let’s go! I’ve got beer in the cooler and a lunchbox full of - bibles. Hi!” Steve’s out of his chair and dragging Eddie back out the house like, “Sorry, gotta go. To church. Bye mama, love you. Bye.” Eddie is crackling the entire time and Steve comes home the next morning smelling like weed and a good time, and is promptly handed a cup to go piss in. Jason takes the drug test for him. Fails it.
#objectively funny if someone else fails your drug test#somehow Eddie Munson becomes a problem that their dad expects them to fix#Carol thought for a long time that Steve was an only child like her#and when she learned that he had siblings and they sucked#she dedicated the rest of her life to making theirs a little worse#she ride or die like that#steve harrington#eddie munson#carol perkins#Steve has older siblings au

pairing: arthur morgan x fem!reader
summary: you and arthur are occasional lovers with no strings attached, except you caught feelings.
word count: 2613

warnings: nsfw/explicit content
a/n: I’ve been battling writer’s block due to perfectionism and decided to write a spontaneous oneshot as an attempt to pretty much break through it. It's not really a smut, just a fluff with suggestive aspects and nsfw setting. Found this idea sweet, hope you enjoy!
✮ masterlist
You and Arthur first met when he was drunk and while you usually steered away from drunk men, this one in particular caught your eye. For some goddamn reason you decided to take care of him as he sang to himself in the saloon, alone, almost picking a fight with one of the regular customers, if it weren’t for you getting involved.
He hadn’t even tried to touch you and overall he seemed to be safe to be around. You made him eat some food (though he protested, saying he’d rather dance with you) and drink some water, to make his hangover at least a bit better the next morning. Then you made sure he was sound asleep before leaving him in the hotel room, putting a little note on the nightstand saying his adaptation of the song about Otis Miller was by far your favorite.
The second time you met in the same saloon. Though this time he was still sober, with a beer in his hand, looking quite worn out after the day. He didn’t remember you that much but you explained and after realizing you were the stranger who took care of him and left his sick, disoriented self the note, he opened up to you more.
And after sharing a few drinks, that he insisted to pay for you, and some loose conversation, you ended up in that same room, this time with you both being tipsy and making out, after you made the first move and kissed him.
It was like you were obsessed. With the way his rough hands treated you so gently, how he towered over you with your back against the wall, how you found yourself enveloped in his strong arms or the deep low groans in your ear that sent tingles into your belly.
It progressed into something more regular. Both of you helped each other release all the pent up tension and forget about everything that was going on outside the bedroom. What happened in that hotel room stayed between the walls. The desperate kisses, muffled whines and hot touches, your bodies intertwined like stems of ivy. The hungry look in his eyes stayed ingrained in your mind, keeping you company during the nights you spent alone.
Arthur felt safe with you. After Eliza he was reluctant to do this type of thing again, but there was just something about you that set his whole self on fire and made it impossible to resist you.
There was a good hunting spot nearby and he liked to return there for that reason, or maybe, just maybe, it was also the way he stopped by at the saloon every time, searching the room for a familiar face as soon as he stepped inside.
This sort of relationship was unusual for you as well, but his touch drove you crazy. He was so gentle and rugged at the same time, so big and mysterious while having a soft side you got to see anytime he let his guard down.
You knew he was no saint. Though he never told you details, you assumed the law was after him, but your intuition let you relax in his presence and you leaned into the comfort, trusting that if anything, he would protect you rather than hurt you.
The connection was mostly physical but slowly, one night after another, he was taking a hold over your heart, as much as you denied it to yourself.
Until you were finally ready to accept it.
— ∽ ♡ ∼ —
“You… seemed… angry today,” you said between your breaths, lying with your back against the soft mattress and covered only by the thin layer of a blanket.
His eagerness today was really something, clutching the headboard as he pushed his hips against yours, making you lose your breath with every thrust. It seemed personal, like there was more tension to release than usually – and you were more than happy to give him the freedom.
A soft groan left his lips in an agreement, his lungs still trying to fill with air as he lay beside you, exhausted but satisfied.
You yourself were still in that sweet daze, your heart pumping warmth into your whole body and tingles dancing all over your stomach, a smile on your face you couldn’t hold back.
The soreness between your legs somehow felt so good, a reminder of this night that would stay even after he’s gone.
After a moment you rolled to your side, watching Arthur’s glistening face as he was covered in sweat, as much as you were. The loose strands of his hair were sticking to his forehead and a familiar warmth spread in your stomach as you imagined reaching out and brushing those strands back, gently caressing his cheek and planting a kiss on the little scar on his chin.
Yes. You were pretty much screwed.
He turned his head to look at you and caught your gaze, silently reciprocating it and giving you a perfect view at his greenish blue eyes. He looked so vulnerable in that moment it tugged at your heart, wanting nothing but to embrace him in your arms.
But you had no idea how he felt and you didn’t want to make a fool out of yourself.
“I uh…” Arthur cleared his throat, turning away to hide the blush creeping up his cheeks. “Lemme clean this up.”
Your soft gaze followed him as he held onto the cloth and as his eyes asked for consent before he lifted the blanket and gently wiped the stickiness from between your thighs.
You didn’t even try to hide your red cheeks, the situation making it seem more than understandable. You wondered whether he realized how sweet this was of him, how much it made you fall in love even more.
You were both silent and the air felt thick between you two, as if there were many things left unsaid and it made the silence louder.
You never knew but always wondered what ran through his mind after your shared intimacy, how he felt, what was the mysterious gleam in his eyes as he watched you hot and sweating beside him.
When he was done, you sat up with the blanket over you again, watching his flexing muscles as he turned away from you, giving you a perfect view at his back.
Arthur lit himself a cigarette, breathing out soft clouds of smoke that floated up towards the ceiling. He sat back, feeling nothing but lightness and comfort inside.
He turned his head to look at you and found you already watching.
“Ya want a drag?”
“Sure,” you accepted, holding the blanket over your chest as you leaned forward. Instead of taking the cigarette from him as he expected you to, you left it between his fingers and simply wrapped your lips around its end while he held it out for you.
You gently put your fingers around his wrist instead, letting him watch you a little surprised.
Leaning away, you fought back the irritation in your throat and turned away from him, tears forming in your eyes. With your mouth at the crook of your arm, you broke into a violent cough.
“Not used to it, huh?” Arthur lightly mocked you, bringing the cigarette back to his own lips as he watched you struggle to gain composure.
You turned to him with teary eyes, laughing at his snicker. “I can’t be good at everything, cowboy.”
After a few moments your breath finally steadied and you found Arthur lost in thought when you looked back at him. Studying his side profile without him taking notice as he continued to smoke, something occupying his mind.
You caught yourself wishing for those hands to hold your hips instead like they did just half an hour ago. For his bare chest to be pressed against yours again, to have his lips on your own. It was like an addiction.
Having him sit beside you like that, naked, turned you on all over again.
He had no idea how much he had you wrapped around his finger.
You cleared your throat, moving your gaze before he could catch you drooling over him.
“So uh… I’d like to ask something of you.”
He looked at you with surprise in his face, curiously turning his whole body towards you.
“Huh, what is it?” he asked in a relaxed tone, shifting closer to you.
You chuckled under your breath as you turned to reach for your satchel lying beside the bed and pulled out a folded paper.
You slightly shook your head at how silly this was, but handed Arthur the paper along with a pencil nonetheless, a grin on your face.
“I’d like an autograph please,” you said playfully, making sure he knew this was a harmless request from you. Lying back, your eyes followed him as he unfolded the paper with one hand, a wave of shock stunning him as he stared at his own wanted poster.
He immediately searched for your eyes, puzzled by the gesture, frowning in confusion. But the soft features of your face and relaxed body language calmed him. You were just playing around.
Now amused, he chuckled, looking back at the paper in his hand. “Where did ya get that?”
There was a hint of insecurity in his voice. Now there was no doubt you knew about him being a criminal. You had an evidence in your possession and yet you were still here, in the same bed, naked, your skin still hot from his touch.
“On a business trip. Seems you’re quite a celebrity.” You grinned, moving closer as you looked over his shoulder at the drawn outlines of his face.
“You’re prettier in real life, trust me.”
He softly huffed at the compliment, hoping you wouldn’t notice his flushed cheeks. But you did and found it endearing.
“So… you gon’ collect that reward?” he asked, a joking tone in his voice though he kept his gaze fixated on the poster.
You chuckled. “No, no, I don’t think I’d stand a chance against someone built like you, besides, I don’t usually sleep with people I plan to turn in to the law.” You kept the playful attitude, pointing to the pencil in his hand. “Come on, sign it. I’ll keep it as a memento.”
“This?” He seemed amused by the idea, not grasping why you’d possibly do such thing.
He turned around to stub out his cigarette, his thoughts an entangled mess. Did you really not mind? He almost spiraled into overthinking as he stared back at his effigy, paired with a ‘wanted’ and a fair sum of dollars in bold. He wished he could make this part of him disappear, especially around you.
“Sure. I don’t have your photo, so…” You were clearly still joking with your lighthearted tone, little did he know there was truth in it. You planned to keep that poster, safely hidden away, as a way to keep something as a reminder of him. Was that silly?
He chuckled again as he put the pencil against a corner of the poster, scribbling down his name in neat, pretty letters.
Arthur trusted you, knew you wouldn’t misuse it. Your eyes were too honest and your physical intimacy too passionate for that.
You thanked him as he handed it back to you, giddily putting it aside and giving him a big smile.
“I must assure you,” you started teasing him, “that this is my first time being involved with an outlaw. You’re not a threat to me, are you, Mr Morgan?”
“Well that depends,” Arthur answered with the same kind of mischief, a playful gleam in his eyes as he turned to his stomach and lay close to you, his breath warm on your face.
“Depends on what?” You held back a laugh, enjoying the mood of the conversation.
“I’ve made ya scream before.”
“Oh, shut up.” You gently hit his arm with your palm, a laugh escaping your lips this time, making the outlaw laugh with you.
“You know, you’re not quite that threatening,” you said, still smiling, purposefully teasing Arthur who furrowed his brow in confusion.
“Am not?”
“No. Unless you attack me with your kisses, that is.”
“You haven’t seen the things I’ve done, woman.”
“No, but I’ve certainly felt some other things.” Without thinking you hurriedly planted a kiss on his scrunched nose and turned your bare back to him, sitting on the edge of bed as you reached for your clothes scattered around the floor.
Arthur lay back with his arms behind his head as he continued to rest in bed, watching you put on your clothes, though quite messily, and your hair that stayed tangled despite you running your fingers through it.
You let out a soft sigh as the room got filled with comfortable silence, yet it made you nervous to the core.
You were in love and you usually weren’t afraid of expressing your feelings. But now it felt so intimidating, so risky.
“Arthur…” you said with seriousness in your tone this time, quiet and hesitant enough to pique Arthur’s interest. He sat up straight in bed and you looked back over your shoulder, catching him as beautiful as ever.
Lit by warm candlelight, you couldn’t help but let your eyes wander over his bare skin. The broad shoulders, though slouched in relaxation, his chest and flat stomach, small scars all over his exposed arms. The way the blanket lay casually over his lap brought warmth into your cheeks and you bit your lip as you remembered the events of just a little while ago.
You looked at his hands, his knuckles bruised and his fingers holding the sheets. And finally his face, curiously watching you with something in his eyes that you couldn’t quite identify. His light brown hair that you loved seeing this ruffled and messy. He really was so beautiful.
“I think…” You tried to swallow the dryness in your mouth, your palms sweating as you struggled to hold eye contact. “I caught feelings for you, Arthur.”
There. You said it. And you felt like a fool.
Your cheeks were now red and you felt a pit in your stomach, not quite believing you just said it out loud. You knew you wouldn’t have it in you to say it again.
You avoided his gaze, having no idea what his reaction was, the little moment of silence felt like an eternity to you.
“You… did?” There was disbelief in his voice and it made you shift nervously, taking a deep breath as you seemingly forgot to breathe.
“Yes.”
The silence became unbearable. You didn’t know how he looked at you, too scared to see the expression of his face and too embarrassed to meet his eyes.
“I have feeling for you as well, (y/n).”
Your eyes widened in surprise and your heart jumped in your chest as you turned around, joy spreading through your veins.
You searched for any sign of deceit in his face, but there was none. He sat there looking completely vulnerable, honest, defenseless, his cheeks pink as he watched you back.
You rushed towards him, cupping his cheeks before connecting your lips in a long sweet kiss. Arthur wrapped his arms around you, pulling you close against his body as he lovingly pulled at your lips, softly breathing into the kiss with a sense of relief.
Slowly you put his weight on him, making him fall backwards little by little until his head lay on a pillow underneath you.
He broke the kiss, looking up at you with dilated pupils and flushed cheeks. “‘M the only one undressed here.”
You grinned at him, not moving a single inch as you kept him locked under you. “I don’t mind.”
With a kiss you muffled his laugh, a wide smile on your own face.
“So… how ‘bout I join you on your hunting trip tomorrow?” you proposed, hope in your eyes.
“Sure.” Arthur chuckled at your excitement, finding the spark in your eyes adorable as he caressed your cheek. “But I ain’t much of a good hunter.”
“That’s okay.” You kissed the corner of his mouth. “Me neither.”

Jaune Is Not Allow To Drink Alcohol #4
At Junior's
Mercury: What are we doing here?
Cinder: We're looking for that Arc fool.
Mercury: Ok...
Mercury: Why?
Cinder: *Angry* Don't you pay attention to my plans?!
Mercury: I will be honest, I have never paid attention to your plans.
Cinder: Urg! We're here to get Arc drunk so we can find a weak point we can use against the famous Pyrrha Nikos.
Mercury: Oooooh! Well, lucky for you it seems he's already drunk.
He says as he looks past Cinder. She follows his gaze and sees Jaune drinking a mug of beer while singing.
Cinder: This will be easy.
Mercury: Good luck.
Cinder: I don't need luck.
She begins to walk towards him while Mercury stays behind watching.
Jaune: *Singing* 🎶Mr. Miller has laid old Otis in his grave...YAH!🎶
Cinder: Hey Jaune~
Jaune: Huh? *Turns to her*
Cinder: Can I join you for a drink? I can be very good company~
She says with a sensual smile

Bringing your slashers/horror characters to Thanksgiving
Includes: Michael Myers (OG), Beetlejuice, Billy Loomis & Stu Macher, J.D., Otis Driftwood, Baby Firefly, Poly Lost Boys, Carrie White
Includes: gn reader, swearing, pet names,
———————————————————————————-
Michael Myers
In reality, this man is not going to your family’s Thanksgiving. He’s not even taking his mask off.
But let’s pretend!!
Let’s say you DID get Michael to take off his mask and venture out of your home for Thanksgiving.
You told your family that he was mute, some understood that better than others.
Grandma? Loves him for some reason.
“Hi baby, is this Michael? Oh hi sweetheart, how are you doing, come let’s get you guys seated.”
She’s so sweet he’s so unused to it other than from you.
He would freak out a lot of people by sitting there and just staring at everyone.
He’s so big and tall compared to everyone, grandpa would ask if he could help him move a dresser or some shit.
“Come on Michael, we’re gonna be late!” You called, waiting patiently by the door.
When you both arrived at your family’s home where Thanksgiving would be hosted this year, Michael was very tense. Very rarely did he ever take his mask off and he hadn’t had a thanksgiving in years. You took his hand and brushed your thumb over your knuckles as you walked inside, taking your shoes off. Your grandma greeted you with a hug and a comfortingly sweet voice.
“Sweetheart! So glad you could make it! Is this Michael? It’s a pleasure to meet you young man,” your grandma said with a smile, touching his hand which made him tense. “Come now, let’s get you guys seated before the food gets cold.”
Mikey was nervous walking through the house, seeing pictures of grandkids and uncles and cousins, seeing everyone seated.
Your grandpa took liking to his muscles,
“Yeah! Looks like you could get the job done, you mind helping me move some boxes in the garage? My back isn’t as nice as it used to be and my kids are pieces of shit.”
“Dad😡”
———————————————————————————
Beetlejuice
Yeah he can pretend to be problematic for thanksgiving.
Would purposely scare the shit out of your cousins.
Your family calls him musty..
Your emo cousin likes him though!!
“Y/N…get him out of here he stinks!” Meanwhile your dead boyfriend is sitting across from your emo cousin who’s lowkey studying him over. He’s just letting them too, he says it reminds them of Lydia.
Your family is boring to him, he’d much rather have thanksgiving at your own house with Lydia and Adam and Barbra.
“Come on babes, this is boring, we’re out of here,” he states as he takes a Turkey leg and promptly leaves the home, hand in yours.
———————————————————————————-
Billy Loomis & Stu Macher
Your parents and family do not approve.
They’re mostly confused as to why you brought two boys with you. They call it slut behavior.
Billy’s family most likely can’t even get through a normal dinner, let alone Thanksgiving, so he was down for coming.
Stu’s family were out of town and he didn’t want to go to some fancy thanksgiving with a lot of people he didn’t know. He’d rather stay in Woodsboro and get drunk for Thanksgiving, but being with his partners worked too.
Your family is way turned off by Billy, they think he’s rude, where as they think Stu is too energetic.
Billy and Stu would find any excuse to dip, letting them have private time, away from everyone.
Stu would make dirty jokes at the table in you and Billy’s ear.
You get a lot of side eyes from everyone..
You knock on the door with both of your boys, only to be greeted by a strange look.
“Y/N, baby, you brought your friends? How..nice..”
When you were all sat down at the table, your aunt started,
“Two boys Y/N? You friends from school?” Your uncle interjected
“I recognize you Loomis. You better not be causing any trouble.” He practically growled. Billy just nodded.
Lots of apologies to your boys after.
“It’s alright baby, it was bound to happen,” Stu said, grabbing a beer from his fridge
“It’s alright puppy, the food was good,”
———————————————————————————-
J.D
Would genuinely probably be the politest to your parents and family,
Got to make a good impression!!
He’d stay close to you the entire time, making sure to show off who he was to you,
God don’t even get him started on his opinion on politics PLEASE..
I feel like he’s the type of guy that your parents would be nice to in person but when he leaves everyone’s like “he’s so weird?😀”
The type of guy to call older relatives ‘sir’ and ‘ma’am’
Would hit the deserts HARD
“Sweetie your new boyfriend is very nice,” your grandma hums as you help with the dishes, he sits in the other room, arguing about politics.
“Yeah, he sure is something,”
“I’m very glad you could bring him,”
Your aunt walks in the room, shaking her head, “he’s really weird honey,” you looked at her with a confused facial expression, “I don’t know how to explain it. He’s just.. odd.”
———————————————————————————
Otis Driftwood
You’re eating dinner at his house. Nothing else.
——————————————————————————-
Baby Firefly
Would actually try to go to dinner with you if that’s what you really wanted.
Would probably make an okayish impression on your family,
They think she’s energetic and odd,
She knows…a lot,
I like to think that she does like domestic feelings, so she might actually love to go to your thanksgiving,
You’re holding her hand as you drive back to the firefly home, smiling as your stunning girlfriend rambles next to you.
“It was so fun! Thank you for taking me baby,”
“Of course,” you hun as she continues to speak very highly of the little tradition.
———————————————————————————-
Poly Lost Boys
Your parents are very thrown off when you tell them that Thanksgiving needs to be a little later than 1:00 this year because your boyfriends get off at 5:00.. (when it gets dark)
They are even more thrown off when four bikers walk in with mullets and frills and no manners at all.. well, the quiet one has manners.
David would try and make a good impression while keeping up his ‘I’m the top dog’ behavior.
Dwayne just wants to help out and actually make a good impression.
Marko will spend most of his time with any pets and Paul will follow in foot.
They house down food. It’s sort of embarrassing
Your parents are so thrown off it hurts.
“Sweetie where did you meet them again?” Your mom whispers to you from across the table,
“So, boys, what do you do for work?” Your father questioned, each boy having a way different reaction it looks suspicious.
Your parents just nod and try there best to get through the dinner.
After dinner it gets even worse, they’re all over you, touching and giving little kisses during conversation, right in front of your parents.. god it was going to be a long night.
———————————————————————————
Carrie White
Genuinely would do her best to come to your thanksgiving if her mama let her.
She’d be all dressed up and pretty, silently so excited that she gets to go to someone’s thanksgiving.
She’s so polite and quiet around your family,
If you all say grace, she’s an active part of it.
She’d be so flustered and happy to be there,
She thinks your family is so nice!!
You knock on the door of her house for her to rush down, saying goodbye to her mama. You would say hello to Mrs.White, but very uncomfortably.. you didn’t like Carrie’s Mama.
You smile upon seeing her. She looks so pretty.
“Hey darling, you look great,”
She blushed, looking down a little flustered, “thank you,”
You open the passenger door, letting her get in and closing it for her. She felt so nice, being treated so kindly. She’d remember this day for a while.
Please send me any slasher requests,
(Although I’m more prone to write for Billy & Stu at the moment)

Not just sex
Jay Halstead x Reader
Summary: Jay and reader live the evolution of their relationship Warnings: smut Words: 2491 Author's note: I actually don't know if i like the ending and I think there may be some typos, sorry
"I swear to you, the chief's face at that" (Y/N) was practically crying while she told the story "Otis was covered in flour from head to toe, we never understood how it happen"
"Because he's an idiot sweetheart" Hermann said while passing her table and handing her the beer she ordered; she pointed at him "very true, but still"
Jay loved seeing her laughing so much.
"wait wait wait" Adam was chuckling too, "if it was just flour, why did you hear a- how did you said it?"
"a BOOM" she moved her hands to simulate an explosion. She knew he was only asking her to make fun of her, but she laughed at that too.
They were all hanging out at Molly's, as per usual; everyone talking with everyone, about everything, bit (Y/N) could only think of how amazingly blue were Jay's eyes in front of her;
At some point during the evening, (Y/N) send Capp to the smiling blondie across the bar -Lord knew he needed to get laid and that woman was willing on doing it-
Just half an hour later Adam and Kim disappeared too, and they left (Y/N) and Jay alone. The tension was palpable.
They didn't last long like that, swirling their beers through their fingers, looking at each other... (Y/N) hoped noone could notice the true intentions under their eyes, Jay thought they were so obvious with their glances that everyone knew about them and were only waiting for them to confirm anything. Either way, when they got to that point of the night, neither could care less of anything other than each other.
(Y/N) got up to announce she was going to head home but Jay caught her arm, he brought her near him pretending to hug her goodbye to whisper "I'll take you home" and lightly bite her ear; he did it so naturally that noone noticed, but the goosebumps (Y/N) got from just that...
She tried to contain herself, to walk normally through the bar and act like she wasn't going to scream Jay's name in a few minutes but Jay took her hand the moment they stepped out of the bar.
It was so natural.
Too natural. (Y/N) left it and began to walk to the cars, Jay scoffed but was smiling at her.
When they got in Jay's car the air shifted in an awkwardness that didn't belong to them; (Y/N) had a feeling Jay wanted to kiss her and couldn't comprehend why he wasn't doing it. Jay really really wanted to kiss her, but maybe rushing things wasn't a good idea: he didn't want "just sex" with her, and she had to understand it.
Jay leaned over and turned the radio on, "oh my God I love this song" (Y/N) beamed and started to sing. She was so fucking beautiful like this: comfortable and happy in Jay's presence. He loved it. At the chorus of the second song, Jay finally put his hand on her thigh. He could practically feel the internal battle that (Y/N) was fighting between giving in or pretend his touch didn't affect her so much. Jay loved this too.
"I have to say, I really want to stay the night tonight"
It was a simple sentence, but from the way he put it (Y/N) knew it was more than that. He didn't say "I want sex and you're the only one who wants it with me" -which (Y/N) swore multiple times that wasn't true and that there was a very long line of women anywhere he was- no, he wanted to let her know that she made him hard with just a look and he couldn't even think to rest his hands from her but was more than happy to just sleep in the same bed if that's what she wanted.
Don't get her wrong, (Y/N) wanted to jump his bones off, but tease him like this was so fun... So she pretended he didn't say anything and kept signing until they got to her apartment.
She kept her act going smiling at him and kissing his cheek as a thank you for getting her home, she got out of the car and started walking to her flat.
It got him the time that (Y/N) arrived to her door to show up, while she was searching for the keys she felt his hands on her waist. "Took you long enough" she looked up at him and finally looked him in the eyes again. Jay didn't let her say anything else, slamming his lips to hers and devouring her on her porch. When she felt his tongue pushing at her lips she couldn't control herself anymore and opened her mouth to let him do whatever he liked. In their little bubble of hands and mouths they forgot where they were and only returned to reality when (Y/N)'s keys fell from her hands and made a noise. The pair got away from eachother, Jay got the keys and opened the door but it was (Y/N) that pushed him inside and blocked him at the door to kiss him again.
Jay pushed her away with his hands on her waist, (Y/N) was ready to have sex on her couch but he had other plans. He lifted her shirt and turned her around, flashing her back to his chest and while he kissed her neck gently and unbuttoned her jeans he guided her to her bedroom.
When (Y/N) turned to look at him, Jay was shirtless too and was pushing her to the bed to make her sit.
He was so handsome.
He left her in her underwear and was gently pushing her legs apart now, he got on his knees and started kissing and biting her thighs. (Y/N)'s breath stopped in her throat when Jay got to her panties, grabbed them with his teeth and proceeded to take them away with his mouth.
He had a wonderful mouth.
"So wet for me". He knew it was only for him, but liked the reminder. (Y/N) settled on her elbows to look at him better but when he finally licked a stripe she closed her eyes and put a hand in his hair. Jay kept licking her up and down until he heard a whimper and knew it was the moment to start sucking on her clit and massaging her lips with his fingers;
"Jay" she breathed out, he was looking at her through his lashes and she clenched at his look. He entered her with both fingers and (Y/N) moaned again; Jay was fucking smirking on her her pussy. When she tightened her grasp on his hair Jay became a hungry man and devoured her all, "please don't stop".
Oh he would never...
(Y/N) was a mess of moans and screams and Jay wanted so desperately to cume with her, but she was the priority now.
"I-I'm" she couldn't resist anymore, "I know baby" a suck "let it all go" a pump of his fingers "cum for me baby" a last lick. And then it all went away because (Y/N) was a panting wreck and Jay was eating her orgasm out until she calmed down.
When she slumped on her back on the mattress Jay slowed down and started to clean her, slowly, gently and kissing every part of her now red pussy.
After he was done he got up, took off his jeans and boxer and lay down with her. He didn't expect to do anything else, he just wanted to be near her and feel her. (Y/N) turned to him and smiled, she got closer and whispered a content "hi", Jay chuckled at her "hi baby".
Looking at him in all his naked glory, after an orgasm, made her want more, (Y/N) bit her lip and got even closer "I want you". Jay thought she was even hotter when she spoke her desire out loud, but he also knew that her pussy's lips were swollen "you sure?", she travelled her hand from his chest to his dick. (Y/N) squeezed his tip making him hiss, "positive".
Jay smiled and turned to her nightstand to pick a condom while (Y/N) kissed his back and caressed his shoulders. When he got back he already opened the package but she stopped him, "what- something wrong?" she shook her head "I want to do it". She already got the envelope in her hands and Jay's eyebrows never shot up so fast, "if-if you're okay with it", Jay seemed to come back to earth "I-I-I- of course!" she smiled "you're so fucking hot" he confessed kissing her again. While they kissed (Y/N) picked the condom and slowly unraveled it on Jay, he moaned in her mouth and swore he never experienced something hotter.
They lay back on the bed and Jay started to grind on her, "don't tease" she hissed and he smiled.
He loved to tease her.
Jay entered at a slow pace, he wanted to feel every inch of her stretch to his dick. (Y/N) wanted to scream from the first instant he started to move, but she put her hand on her mouth to muffle her noises. Jay didn't agree. He put her hands on top of her head and purred in her ears at the sign "I want to hear you while I fuck you". She would definitely moan now.
Jay on top was so good: he kissed her neck and mumbled dirty things in her ears. And he had so much control of his thrusts, he could almost hit her g spot.
But (Y/N) wanted to be in charge too. It was her on top now and she loved how one of Jay's hands was on her hip and the other on her breast, flicking and squeezing her nipple from time to time. When she was on top they both were a mess of moans and grunts because she was able to grind her clit too and Jay loved the sight of her tits so near his face when she jumped up and down. This time (Y/N) swore Jay didn't moan, he said "I love you". She stopped for a second.
Nahh it couldn't be.
"Jay I-" her movements were becoming sloppy, Jay put both his hands on her hips to steady her "I know baby, I know". She couldn't keep it anymore, so Jay pushed her back on the bed and started to thrusts into her so hard they were both screaming. When Jay came he didn't stop until (Y/N) closed her eyes and finally let go.
After some moments he gently pulled out of her and let her breathe. He threw away the condom and got his boxers again; (Y/N) was happily watching him go around in her room to find her "sleeping t-shirt" from the bed. He sat on the bed again and put it on her, kissing every part of her during the process.
"You okay?"
He always asked her after. She always said "more than okay" and then she stretched her arms to him to make him hug her and sleep with her. He didn't need the grabby hands, he would have done it anyway, but Jay loved seeing her so cozy around him.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Jay Halstead slept so well that night and had a wonderful breakfast with (Y/N) the following morning that he didn't realise what he did up until he heard Adam whisper "I love you" to Kim before she left for a few hours the precinct.
"Oh shit"
Yeah he screwed up big time.
"What?", Adam was already laughing at his face, Antonio was rather concerned instead "what'd you do Halstead?" "I told (Y/N) I love her". He didn't realise what he'd done now either, he was too in shock. Nobody knew about them and he just confessed his love to everyone.
"You did what?" , Antonio's concern shifted to confusion; that seemed to shake Jay to reality "Um-", then they started with the questions "(Y/N) as in (Y/N) (Y/L/N)? The firefighter?" "How long have you two been seeing eachother?" "I knew there was something when-"
"Halstead"
He never thanked God enough for the call from Voight, "Sarge?" "I need you at the 51, Boden already knows what I need, go talk to him", yeah and that's why he didn't thank him.
Adam burst out laughing at Jay's petrified face, "is there a problem, Halstead?" "No Sarge".
He got up and started going like he was doing the walk of shame.
Now Antonio's expression was one of pure amusement.
When he finally arrived at the firestatione, everyone was there. Perfect, he thought, he was gonna embarass himself in front of a platoon of firefighters whithout them even understanding why. He tried to act as cool as possible, asking Severide to see their chief and everything was going smoothly. That was untill he passed Boden's door and saw (Y/N) sat on the couch in the chief's office.
"Ah Detective, I know why you're here", Boden started the search for some documents and Jay could only look at (Y/N); she nodded and saluted him with a short "detective" and a smirk.
Jay wanted to be swallowed by the abyss of the Earth.
Boden handed him two folders and thanked him for the help his unit was giving him to... something- he didn't really listen to anything other than his thoughts.
"Can I talk to you?" he asled (Y/N) when he was sure Boden had finished. She was rather confused but agreed nonetheless; (Y/N) led him to the lockers to be sure of have some privacy. She sat on a bench and he sat next to her, (Y/N) couldn't understand why Jay wasn't looking her in the eyes...
She took his hand to shake him from the visible spiral he was getting himself into and made him look at her.
Three seconds had passed, only three seconds and Jay exploded just because he finally looked at her "I love you"
(Y/N) felt the world stopping, the floor under her feet collapsing and the sky opening.
HE WHAT?
"I'm sorry, I imagined saying it in other circumstances but just before coming down here I realized I actually told you yesterday- which is even more terrible, I am so sorry, telling such a thing while you're on top of me is so... but it slipped and now that i saw you I couldn't wait anymore because I-I feel like I ruined everything"
(Y/N) couldn't decide if she was going to cry or laugh at his face.
"You love me?"
Jay wanted to crawl on the floor and never see the light again, but then he saw her tearing eyes and little smile of amusement and breathed a sigh of relief; "yes, (Y/N). I love you so much"
Yeah now she was crying for real.
She jumped at his neck and kissed him with an emotion he though he never felt.
"I love you Jay Halsted".

Pretty Tied Up (Otis Driftwood x Reader)
Summary: Or, the perils of working at Red Hot Pussy Liquors.
Note: Female reader, but no other descriptors are used. This takes place between House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil’s Rejects. Based on the Guns N' Roses song. Do not interact if you’re under 18, terf or radfem, or post thinspo/ED content.
Word count: 1.8k
Warnings: Dead Dove: Do Not Eat. Armed robbery and implied kidnapping. Sexually explicit content that involves extremely dubious consent and sadism, gags, bondage, groping, and gunplay. Otis is pretty much his own warning. Do not interact if you’re under 18.
Having regulars at a liquor store was a double-edged sword. You got to know some customers well enough to like them, but over time you’d notice they looked increasingly worse for wear as they came up to the checkout with their usual purchases. The exception, of course, were the Fireflys, who you always found unsettling, despite Baby’s attempts to seem affable.
“My brother likes you,” she said one day, leaning against the counter as you rang up three bottles of vodka and two six-packs of beer.
“RJ?” you asked, glancing at her brother standing a few feet behind her.
RJ was always nice enough. Didn’t say much. Tall. Burly. Strong. Ruggedly handsome. You’d be open to going out with him.
She laughed in her usual high-pitch that always toed the line of being spine-chilling. “No silly! I’m talkin’ ‘bout Otis.”
You stared at her blankly. “Who’s Otis?”
“You know, long hair, blue eyes, scruffy ol’ beard. He came in here the other night. You must’ve made one hell of an impression. He won’t shut up about ya.”
Oh yeah. Him. Bought a bottle of whiskey and a stack of hardcore BDSM porno magazines. ‘You ever look at this stuff?’ he’d asked, eyeing you as you put a magazine with a nude, distressed-looking woman suspended by intricate ropes on the cover into a brown paper bag. When you first started working there, you could hardly stomach the sight of the rougher fare. As time went on, you found yourself hesitantly intrigued. ‘Gotta have something to do besides go to church on Sundays,’ you replied, earning a wicked grin from him.
“That’s nice,” you said.
She snickered. “My brother’s not nice.”
“Is this everything?” you asked, hoping to move the interaction along.
“Hey RJ, you gettin’ anything else?” Baby asked over her shoulder.
He shook his head, approaching to pick up the crate you put the bottles in.
Baby handed you a wad of cash. She almost always overpaid, letting you keep the change, which was most of the reason you humored her antics in the first place. “Thanks darlin’! See ya real soon!” she said, wiggling her eyebrows, keen to something you were yet to be aware of.
Two nights later you were working the store alone. Your coworker Billy didn’t even have the decency to call and let you know he wasn’t coming in–or quit. He just didn’t show up at 9:30 when he was supposed to, and your phone call to his house was met with a busy dial tone. Asshole.
It’d been a slow night anyway, but you would have appreciated the heads up, or at least another body in the place when the front door was kicked open.
“This is a robbery! Don’t fucking move or I’ll shoot!”
Despite the bandana covering the bottom half of his face, you knew who it was right away. Long, graying hair and piercing blue eyes that were burned into your memory from his last visit to the liquor store.
You lifted your hands in the air. Your manager had told you on your first day that there was always a possibility of this happening. Better to just let them take whatever cash and booze they wanted and report it to the police once they left. ‘Don’t go playin’ hero. We got insurance.’
“Keep those hands up,” Otis said, slowly approaching the counter. “I’m gonna walk back there, and you’re gonna open the register for me.”
You nodded, eyes glued to him as he slithered around the counter like a snake, gun steadily pointed at you.
“Go on,” he said.
With a trembling hand, you opened the register, the cash-filled drawer popping open for him. He pressed the gun to your temple, instructing you to put the cash in one of the brown paper bags by your side. You tried not to glance at him too much while you stuffed the paper bag with the money, finally pushing it toward him and sticking your hands up again.
“Alright, now turn around.”
“Wh-What?”
“I ain’t got all night.”
You glanced at the door. No way you could make a run for it, but maybe someone would walk in and be able to do something.
He followed your gaze and let out a cruel scoff. “Ain’t nobody coming through that door who can save you. I’m the closest thing to salvation you’ll ever get. Now turn the fuck around.”
With a shaky breath, you did as you were told, freezing when you felt the barrel of the gun press against the back of your head. His free hand grabbed your ass through your jeans, his strong grip almost painful as he squeezed each cheek. “Wonder how much it’d take to make you bruise?” he mumbled, almost to himself. He squeezed again, harder this time, as if he were trying to dig his fingers into your flesh. “Too much work when I can just cut into ya.”
“Don’t hurt me,” you pleaded, though hearing your own voice, you weren’t quite sure how convinced you were that you didn’t want him to do his worst. Knowing what you did about the Firefly clan, the rumblings around Ruggsville about the strange family–it would be pretty damn bad.
“C’mon now, mama. You led me to believe you liked it rough,” he said, voice gravelly and low as he slipped his hand between your legs from behind, rubbing the rough denim material and your cotton panties against your pussy, the friction hitting your clit in just the right spot for you to let out a shameful moan. Your hand flew to your mouth, the other clenched in a fist as you tried not to give him the reaction he wanted. Didn’t want to prove him right. Show him how curious you were. You didn’t even have it in you to fight back, not when you were on the edge, so achingly close until suddenly you weren’t anymore.
You nearly whined when he pulled his hand away, horrified at yourself, your reaction to his groping you. He grabbed each of your arms, roughly pulling them behind your back and tying your wrists together with something itchy and uncomfortable that dug painfully into your skin as you fruitlessly tried to free yourself from the secure knot he made. What the fuck did he use? Your eyes widened at the carpet burn-like sensation that’d begun to sting your skin. The roll of twine beneath the register. You used to secure some customers’ more sensitive purchases sometimes.
Fingers and cloth forced their way into your mouth until you were gagged with the bandana Otis had pulled off of his face. He turned you around, looking you over with a slow, satisfactory nod. “I was having trouble getting over this mental block in my art. Started drivin’ me crazy. Y’know, they showed this nature documentary about a group ‘a lions a while back. How they protect and provide for their families, stalk their prey and go in for the kill–do you ever think about how we’re the only species where killing is taboo? For the rest of the animal kingdom, it’s just nature, part of the circle of life. There was a scene where the lion saw a gazelle from way across the savannah, and it was like nothing else existed except for its prey. It couldn’t rest until it tore that damn thing apart. That’s how I felt when I saw you.”
You shook your head frantically, your pleas of mercy muffled by your gag. Fat tears blurred your vision until he morphed into something monstrous, straight out of a nightmare you couldn’t wake up from.
“I ain’t gonna kill ya,” he said, roughly petting your head, “not yet anyway, that’d be a waste when I’ve barely even started.” He gave you a mean grin as he grabbed a hold of your hair by the roots. “I got a lot planned for you. Those magazines gave me a lot of ideas too.”
He lowered the gun, dragging it between your breasts and further down your abdomen until he reached the waistband of your jeans. Using his other hand, he unbuttoned and unzipped them with alarming ease, pulling them down until they fell to your ankles. Your breath hitched as he pressed the barrel of the gun against your cunt, the thin fabric of your panties the only thing stopping him from being able to slide it inside of you.
Still, the cool metal sent a shiver through you as he rubbed it against your clit, black spots creeping into your peripheral as you hyperventilated through his sadistic experiment. He was hard. That much you knew, but what frightened you, perhaps most of all, was how wet you had become since he tied you up. Your skin still screamed against the rough twine that’d been cutting into your flesh, soon to draw blood as you kept struggling.
Your hips jerked, pressing the gun barrel closer to your pussy that was eager to betray you and clench around it if he just pushed past your panties and shoved it up there. You didn’t want him to do that, not in your right mind. But no one in your situation could be considered in their right mind, could they?
“Don’t fight it,” he encouraged gruffly, blue eyes piercing through you as he watched your knees threaten to give out as you neared orgasm. “Give the devil his due, mama.”
Your hands curled into fists, nails threatening to break through the skin of your palm. Then he did it. Slipped the barrel of the gun past your soaked cotton panties. Your brain short-circuited in a rush of terror and thrill at the sensation. You came, eyelids fluttering shut, a guttural moan tearing from your throat and pushing through your gag. Your limbs felt like ghosts, incorporeal parts of you that could only offer a vague sense of feeling compared to the sensation that overwhelmed your body, pleasure and adrenaline coursing through your veins all the same.
Gun be damned, you collapsed against the checkout counter, unable to support yourself any longer. Your chest heaved, unable to catch your breath with the now saliva-soaked bandana still shoved halfway down your throat. An astounded whine escaped your lips when he brought the gun up to his nose and sniffed. “This is it, mama. This is the devil’s salvation.”
He wasn’t making any damn sense, or your brain was too fuzzy to comprehend what he was saying. All you knew about the devil was from the Bible and that stupid Dr. Satan story people regurgitated like spoiled food. If Otis was the devil, you’d believe it, though.
The sound of a car door slamming shut made your eyes widen, and you glanced over your shoulder, your muffled screams of either help or warning to however was approaching.
“Sorry about this, darlin’. We’ll have a lot more fun later,” he said, hitting you across the face with the gun, sending you to the brink of consciousness.
The bell on the door faintly jingled, and the last thing you remember seeing was a large, familiar figure walking towards you.
“C’mon and help me get ‘er in the car,” Otis said just as you passed out. "Don't forget the cash."

Hey hey hope I’m not too late with this 🫢
100 Compliments - #72 "You always look good."
Brian “Otis” Zvonecek x fem because Otis always does look so good in everything he wears 😍
You Always Look Good - Brian 'Otis' Zvonecek
Summary: Otis dresses up for a shift at Molly's in hopes of impressing you.
A/N: Sorry this took so long to write! School has been crazy!!
✰ ✰ ✰ ✰
"Look at you," Stella teased, pinching Otis' side as she walked past him behind the bar at Molly's .
Otis flinched at the feeling, shoving her hand away, as his cheeks reddened. "I look the same as I always do," he defended. Still, he straightened the button down shirt that he was wearing, navy with little pineapples printed all over it.
Stella was unbothered by Otis' defensiveness. She stopped and looked back at him, eyes traveling up and down as she assessed him. "I don't know, something different 'bout you tonight," she replied, "you do something to your hair?"
"No," he insisted, running a hand subconsciously through his hair.
Sensing his unusually high nerves, Stella offered him a smile, "okay. I'm not trying to give you a hard time, I promise."
Just like she knew he would, Otis deflated, leaning against the bar and looking toward the door of Molly's before looking back at Stella. "I've been...putting feelers out...I met someone, here. She works at the hospital and she's...she's awesome. Incredible. Gorgeous. And I just wanna ya know, look good."
Before Stella could respond to his spiral of nerves, a voice cut in from the other side of the bar, "you always look good."
Otis' eyes went wide and he turned quickly to see the very person of his affection, you, standing there smiling at him.
"Hey," you gave a small wave, leaning against your side of the bar as if that might lessen the distance the wooden countertop created between you and Otis.
Stella backed away, smiling from ear to ear and no doubt going to find Herrmann or Mouch (or anyone that she could gossip with about you and Otis and how red he had turned when you told him that he looked good).
"Hey," he replied, mimicking your wave but quickly lowering his hand in case you could tell how clammy his palms felt right now. If Cruz was here he would definitely give him a hard time for acting like this. Not that anyone could accuse him of being suave but he wasn't lacking in confidence either. Well, he was lacking in the kind of confidence Severide or Casey possessed but he had a decent amount. "Can I, uh, get you a beer? Or something?"
"A beer is good," you replied, taking a seat on one of the stools and watching Otis as he grabbed a bottle of Blue Moon for you, "so...I'm awesome?"
"And incredible," he admitted, a smile creeping onto his face, "and gorgeous."
"A triple threat," you teased, "guess we're evenly matched then?"
It took a few seconds for the words to process in Otis' head, the recognition slowly taking over as he nodded almost dumbly, full on smile breaking through and ears going as red as the rest of his face was. "Yeah?" He meant to sound less like a question but he couldn't help the way his voice raised at the end of the word, turning it into uncertainty.
"Definitely," you replied holding up your pointer finger as you listed out the first of three things, "awesome: you watched all the Star Wars movies with me in one sitting -"
"I mean, you can't not celebrate May 4th correctly."
You held up your middle finger next, ignoring him, "Incredible: you literally save people's lives like, on the daily," finally you held up your thumb, "Gorgeous: self-explanatory. Look at you."
Otis leaned against the bar, trying to look casual and not completely flustered by your comment. "Well, I can't argue with that."
You laughed, "oh can't you?" and leaned over the rest of the way to kiss him.
"Hey! No PDA with the customers Otis!" Herrmann shouted from the other side of the bar.
You pulled away trying to fight a smile as you looked down the bar to Herrmann, Mouch, and Stella, who had obviously been watching you and Otis the entire time.
"How late are you working then?" You asked, "I mean, how many bartenders does this place need tonight?" You glanced around Molly's, slow for a random Tuesday, and then back to Otis, "not that I'm suggesting you ditch your job."
"No, of course not," he said, already turning to Herrmann, "I'm gonna head out, seems like you and Stella have it covered."
"Whoa-"
"Have fun!" Stella cut in, smiling mischievously, "be safe!"
"Oh god," the pink cheeks were back on Otis as he rounded the counter to meet you on your side.
"Hey, she didn't pay for her beer!" Herrmann realized as he watched you and Otis make a break for the door.

He Was Checking you out - Matt Casey
requested: yes
word count: 1,085
warning: jealous!matt, ft some creepy bitch
a/n: tbh i forget it was checking you out and not flirting but i did what i had to do regardless lmaooo
masterlist
Matt Casey was easily the love of your life. Without a doubt. You’d known that since the day you met. You wanted to be with him and you knew he did too. So you asked him out, got drinks, then dinner and now you sat with him at Molly’s weekly for a drink.
And things were nice, “He nearly burnt his ass off, genuinely. That door was not going to hold much longer.” One of his coworker, Kelly, was going on about a house fire that they were called to that day and you felt a weight grow in your stomach.
You were aware he was a firefighter, putting himself directly in the line of danger was something he would do daily. But you still got antsy when it was brought up sometimes. Especially when Kelly whipped out the picture of the back of his jacket that nearly had an entire hole burnt through it.
“Jesus, I’m gonna grab another drink, do you want one?” You questioned the man next to you, standing as he shook his head.
“Nah, I’m alright.” Matt’s hand lingered on you until it physically couldn’t anymore, your body too far from his to reach. And you went up to the bar, asking for a shot or two from the curly haired bartender and downing them right there.
Normally you wouldn’t have been so abrasive with them, but it just needed to take the anxious edge off. Nothing more. “You alright there y/l/n?” Stella questioned, picking up a glass to polish it.
The night had been pretty slow so there wasn’t much for her to do when she wasn’t actively pouring liquor into cups for customers. “Yeah, I just kind of got skeeved out over what they were talking about but, yeah, I’m okay.” You forced a small smile on your face. “Can I get a beer?” Just as you asked, the other man behind the bar came over, already having a bottle in his hand.
“From that guy over there.” Otis’ nose scrunched up, not having had it in him to tell the guy there was no use, instead just offering the drink up and turning back. Your eyes locked with the guy on the opposite end of the bar, that apparently being a sign for him to get up and move closer to you.
Stella gave you a look that silently said she’d have an eye on you as she stepped away, being beckoned over by Mouch for another drink. “Hey,” The stranger nodded his head at you, a tilt to his head as he leaned against the counter.
“Hi.” Short and sweet, attempting to cut the interaction short. “Thanks for the drink,” You added on, be nice and maybe he wouldn’t end up being some psychopath that followed you home.
“Yeah, no problem. I’m James.” He was very adamant on talking to you, not noticing the way you very fully were keeping yourself back from him, any conversation he tried to hold was met with short or dry answers. Not to mention the way his eyes dragged over you.
It made your skin crawl and you were trying to find a decent way to drop this interaction. The only thing that actually got you out of it, was Matt finally deciding he’d had enough of this guy eyeing you up and down and coming over, protectively putting his arm around your waist. “Hey baby,” He made a show of planting a nice and wet kiss to your lips.
Easily, your arm went around him, thankful that he decided to come over, a smile finally spreading onto your face, “Hi.” Your voice was small as the man you didn’t even want near you slinked away, obviously embarrassed.
As soon as he was away, Matt dropped his arm from your side, “We’re going home.” He muttered, pulling you out of the building with his jaw clenched. There was a look you had never, and genuinely you meant, ever seen on his face.
The ride was nearly silent, Matt’s hands simply holding onto the steering wheel, not in yours. Not on your thigh like he would usually on the way home from Molly’s. You would have said something but honestly, what do you even say when you don’t know why he was being like that?
Back at his apartment, you stopped as soon as you shut the door, “Alright, what the hell is your problem? Why are you so mad?” You finally spoke up, crossing your arms. The man had tried to simply go to the room, once again not stopping to say or even look at you.
He turned, raising his eyebrows, “He was clearly checking you out and you didn’t do anything,” His voice came out louder than he meant to, taking in a deep breath. “that’s why I’m mad.”
You pulled your eyebrows together, shaking your head, “I didn’t do anything because I knew I was going to go back over to you anyway, Matt. I’m female in my thirties, I’m used to men unwantedly staring at me.”
That was just how it was for women and sure, you didn’t expect him to fully get that but being blamed for it was not something you were okay with. Even if you were in love with him. “I get that this is, still kind of new, or whatever you want to say about it, but if you’re going to get this worked up anytime a guy looks in my direction,” You cut yourself off, looking at him.
He knew what you were implying, and that alone had him walking over and grabbing onto your hands tightly. “I only did, because he was very clearly undressing you with his eyes, but if you don’t want me to, I won’t. As long as you come home with me at the end of the night, that’s all I care about.”
“And I will. I swear that I will. Always.”
“Okay, alright. I’m sorry.” He moved a hand to the side of your face to lean into a more gentle kiss than earlier, holding yours in his other one still. You interlocked your fingers together before looking up at him.
Slightly you shook your head, “Don’t be. You jealous was a bit hot.” You muttered, gazing up at him while biting at the inside of your cheek.
His eyebrow twitched up, looking back down at you, “Oh yeah?”
“Mhm. Just a bit though.”
“I’ll have to try better next time then.”

Warnings: 18+, minors DNI

It has been years since you’ve called Chicago home. You decided to move away from the city after the death of your father, Benny Severide, he was everywhere you looked. Mourning him while being surrounded by everything that reminded you of him was impossibly hard. Your brother Kelly, completely supported your decision and had even helped you move. Now that you had fully processed his death, you thought it was time to move back. You decided to call Kelly on your drive over.
“Hey, sis, what’s up?” He said as he picked up the phone, by the loudness of his surroundings you knew he was on shift. “Is now a good time? I can call back later.” You should’ve known by now that he would make time for you no matter what. “You’re all good.” You stop at a redlight and continue your conversation with your brother. “I’m moving back to Chicago, actually I just started driving.” You could hear the happiness in his voice, “I’m so glad you’ll be closer again. Have you found a place yet?” He asks. “No not yet, I figured I would just stay at a hotel until I find a place.” Kelly was quick to respond, “Don’t be ridiculous, you can stay with me and Shay until you find something.” You hear a muffled voice on the other side of the line and then a response from Kelly, “Otis, stop it, she is my sister!” His next words are aimed at you, “Just so you know, 51 is off limits for dating, understood?” You laughed, “You’ve got it. I’ll see you later, bye Kelly.”
You arrived in Chicago after a couple of hours, you felt like walking around for a while before heading over to the address that your brother texted you. It was good to be back, you had always loved it here. You were nearing the cemetery where your dad was buried, contemplating whether you should go visit his grave, ultimately deciding that you were ready. It was the first time you had been here since the day of the funeral, you noticed that the grave was well kept and fresh flowers were standing in a vase next to the headstone. It did you well knowing that Kelly came to visit him, when you weren’t able to. Your next stop was your favorite bar, you needed a drink after this big step.
The ambiance in the bar was exactly as you remembered it. The string lights on the ceiling, the pictures of the locals on the wall, and the laughter and conversation filling the room. You spot a free chair at the bar and claim it. You order a beer, a burger and some fries. “Here you go.” The bartender hands you your beer, “The food will be out shortly.” You smile and thank him. Sipping on the beer, you look around the bar, you love to people watch and what better location than a busy bar? There was a group of older men playing a card game, the table filled with pints of beers. At the pool table you spotted a group, you assumed to be twenty five years old, playing an intense game of pool. You move on to the next part of the bar where you find a woman your age playing a game of darts with a fifty year old man, your eyes linger on the blonde woman. She throws her last dart and cheers, “You owe me a drink, Frank!” You miss the rest of the interaction as your food gets placed in front of you.
You start on your burger and after a few bites the woman stands next to you at the bar. “A beer, please, and can you add it to Frank’s tab?” The bartender looks over to Frank, after a thumbs up he places a beer in front of her. “Smart way to get free drinks.” You comment. “Right?” The woman laughs. “Mind if I sit with you for a moment?” You pretend to think for a moment. “Depends, will you be tricking me into buying you drinks as well?” You joke. The woman is quick to respond, “Don’t worry, I don’t trick pretty girls into buying me drinks.” She raised her beer to cheers it with you. A small blush reaches your cheeks, “Then please take a seat.” She smiles and takes a seat. “I’m Leslie, by the way.” You shake her hand and introduce yourself as well, “Pleasure to meet you, Leslie, I’m y/n.” She smirks, “The pleasure is all mine.”
The two of you fall into conversation easily. You watch as Leslie takes one of your fries, you don't mind at all, but you think it's funny that she just started eating your food. She realizes your eyes on her and realizes what she did. "Oh, I'm sorry. I don't know why I did that without asking you first." You place your hand on her knee, stopping her from rambling. "I don't mind, eat as many as you want." Leslie smiles your way, "Okay, but let me buy you your next drink. Another beer?" You tell her that she doesn't have to buy you a drink in return for eating your fries, but she insists. "Okay, but something non-alcoholic like a club soda or something. I have a feeling this will be an evening that I'd like to remember." You say with a subtle wink. Leslie smirks, and orders "Two club soda's, please."
You have just finished your food when Leslie’s favorite song comes on. “Come dance with me, please. This is my absolute favorite song!” Her enthusiasm pulls you over the edge to say yes. She takes your hand and guides you to the middle of the bar. While keeping hold of your hand she starts dancing around, once again her enthusiasm is contagious and you start dancing with her, the whole crowd at the bar disappears and it’s just you and her jumping around, dancing, and laughing. When the song comes to an end Leslie pulls you close, you’re both still breathing hard from the exercise you just did, but neither of you cared and crashed your lips together. You had been thinking of kissing her since the moment she took the seat next to you at the bar, but nothing you had imagined could amount to her lips actually being on yours. You each got carried away in the moment, but got pulled back to reality by the bar crowd cheering and whistling loudly. You look around the room wide eyed, not having expected so many people to watch you make out with someone. Leslie notices and takes your hand once more, “Come on, let’s get out of here.”
After making sure you’re okay with it, she takes you to her apartment two blocks over. Once inside she takes your hand and guides you to her bedroom. She closes the door and pushes you against it, she wastes no time and starts kissing you again. This time without any crowd interruptions you deepen the kiss and soon your hands are exploring each other's bodies. You unbutton her flannel and drop it to the floor, she does the same to your shirt. Next thing you know she’s laying on top of you in her bed. You weren’t typically one to kiss on a first date, let alone go home with a stranger, but with Leslie it was different. The way she was pleasuring you felt more special, more meaningful than a one night stand. You hoped that she felt the same way. When you were both catching your breath, laying down next to each other, Leslie is quick to let you know that she feels the same way. “Please stay the night. I know we did things kind of backwards but I’d love to take you on a breakfast date in the morning.” You smile wide before kissing her softly, “I’d love that too.”
You’re awoken the next morning by Leslie cuddling into your side. You smile with your eyes still closed and wrap your arm around her, cuddling her back. “Good morning.” She says in a raspy morning voice. You say good morning back and the two of you lay in bed cuddling for a little while longer, until Leslie offers you some coffee. Leslie gets out of bed first and grabs a shirt from the floor and puts it on, she looks down and laughs, “This is yours.” You laugh with her, “It looks good on you. Give me your flannel, please.” Leslie walks out of the room in just the shirt and her underwear, so you follow her lead and leave your pants in the room. You follow her into the kitchen and stand next to her at the counter as she fills two cups with coffee. That’s when you hear a door open somewhere in the apartment, you hadn’t exactly gotten as far as talking about roommates last night. You quickly button up the flannel some more, mentally thanking Leslie for the oversized flannel, covering you until mid-thigh. Nothing could’ve prepared you for the next moment, your brother walked into the kitchen. “Kelly?” You question out loud, confused as to what was happening. “Y/n? What are you doing here?” Leslie looks confused between the two of you. Kelly walks closer and asks another question before you can even answer the first one. “And why aren’t you wearing any clothes?” He then looks over to Leslie, who is also not wearing enough clothes. “Oh no, no, no. I told you not to date anyone from 51.”
Leslie is starting to connect the dots of Kelly’s sister coming to visit and the two of you knowing each other. A laugh escapes her mouth, but she quickly holds it in as Kelly sends her a stern look. “Just so we’re all clear, I did not know she was your roommate or worked at 51. Actually, thinking about it, you told me your roommate's name was Shay, this is Leslie.” Leslie steps closer to you and extends her hand, you take it with a confused look on her face. “Leslie Shay.” She says the laughter she’s holding is still present on her face. “Y/n Severide.” You say defeated. “Okay, now we’ve got that all figured out, I’m going to put some clothes on. Excuse me.” Leslie goes to follow you but is stopped by Kelly grabbing her arm. “Shay, you’re my best friend but she’s my little sister. I don’t know what your intentions are but if you hurt her..” Leslie stops him before he can finish his sentence. “Look, I don’t know what the future holds but I really like her. I’ve never felt this strongly about a person from the start, she’s special, and my intention was to take her out for breakfast this morning, please join us.” She doesn’t leave room for Kelly to respond and walks to her room. She knocks on the door before entering, she finds you sitting on her bed, staring at the floor. “Hey, it’s okay. He might kill me if I hurt you but I don’t intend on hurting you. He’s just being protective, he’ll be fine.” You take a deep breath, “Yeah, you’re probably right. This just wasn’t at all what I expected this morning.” She sits down next to you on the bed and hugs you tight. “I invited him to join us for breakfast, I hope that’s okay. He can’t be mad over food, trust me.”
She was right, Kelly saw the way the two of you were interacting and his worries for you getting hurt eased. He trusted both you and Shay, you were both adults. You just also happened to be the two people he cared the most about in this world, but maybe that was a good thing, his two favorite people meeting and getting along so well. Kelly insisted on paying for breakfast, despite Leslie’s insisting that she’s got it. Leslie leans into your and whispers, I’ll take you on an actual date next time.

Otis B Driftwood x Reader || Excerpt
Plot: Just a moment after he tells you he's gonna keep you around. Not a whole lotta context 😅
Warnings: It's Otis B Driftwood. I don't even know where to start 😅
Otis' lips leave your lips feeling hot and bruised. The taste of metal remains on your tongue, forced there by his smothering kiss. His fingers leave a dirty smudge on your jaw as he roughly let's you go and stands up to his full height while you remain, sat on the bed. "Yeah... I think I'm gonna keep you, doll. Oh- I'm definitely gonna keep you."
"I hate you." You snap at him with his grimy sheets fisted in your clenched fingers; every bit of fury and disgust you felt looking at him cooking in your words. And everything else, too. The fear, the horror, the other things that you haven't thought about. That you're afraid to.
Otis doesn't seem too bothered by what you say though, a grimy smirk flickering across his face along with a chuckle. Your words change nothing, for him. You dont matter, not like that. You matter, your being here with him; his secret toy all for himself; but your opinions? What you want? Eh, not important. He shakes his head, strolling off to a chest of drawers. You're also wrong, he thinks, pulling out a nasty looking serrated knife. But whatever. You'll figure that out, eventually.
Your heartbeat jumps to life inside your chest, pounding inside your body, screaming to fly out and take off.
That doesnt stop you from spewling, though. You don't want him to know how scared of him you are, how terrified. ... He thinks that's real fucken cute. "You're an evil freak. If you think I want to stay here, you're out of your mind- "
"Obviously I'm out of my fucking mind. Look at me. Do I look sane to you??"
He turns around, the knife in his strong hand pointed downwards. Tucks it into the back of his jeans causing you to grimace. "Anyway," He shrugs, leaning back to pick up a beer can that's been on that dresser for who-knows-how long and take a swig so that some dribbles down the corner of his mouth. He wipes it with the back of his hand and drops the now empty can on the carpet; crushing it under his boot on his way back to you.
When he sits down close beside you, so your hips and your arms brush together making you shiver, he leans in so you can smell his metallic, now stale beer addled breath and tucks some of your hair ever-so-gently behind your ear making you wince this time. He's being too soft with you, and the thick material band around his wrist is damp and stinks. You also can't stop thinking about the jagged knife in the ass of his jeans. Surely he's getting cut, sitting with it like that?? Doesn't he care????
No, of course not.
"You hate me, huh?... " He whispers, smirking like he knows something you-fucking-dont. Which is infuriating. "... well, maybe. Probably. Whatever. But hey- " He leans in so close you can taste his breath, and try not to gag. "I think you're gonna like it here, baby. Eventually."
"What???" How could he possibly think- After he took you and killed your friends-
"We'll turn you crazy over time. A regular part of the family. Then you'll like it here." With a taught smile, he leans down and presses a hot, rough, open-mouthed kiss to your exposed neck; licking your skin and sucking like he couldn't help himself from getting a taste, before looking back up at your face again. "Then you'll admit y'want me. Promise."
Then he flashes a quick smile, and leaves the dank, messy room. Locks it behind him.

First Christmas - [ Brian ‘Otis’ Zvonecek ]
Summary: Your first proper Christmas with Brian becomes that much more special when he asks you that one magical question
Word Count: 1272
Warnings: female!reader, implied sex
A/N: I feel like this sucks so apologies if it does
Masterlist | Otis Masterlist
It was your first Christmas living with Brian. The first time in the two years you’d been dating that you’d be spending the holiday under the same roof. The last two times you had both been with your families, only getting to spend the last few hours of Christmas day together and cherishing each second.
But things were different now.
Now you were living together, in the very place you’d both put your whole heart into making a home. Which meant from the second the clock struck midnight, you’d get to spend every single second of your favourite holiday with the man you loved more than anything.
And to make matters even better, it was snowing.
“I always loved seeing snow on Christmas.” You sighed contently, drawing lazy circles over Brian’s knee as you sat between his legs.
The first thing you’d done when you both moved in was make a cozy little nook by the biggest window. Filled with pillows, blankets and the stuffed bear Brian had gotten you last Christmas. Somewhere you could just curl up with a cup of tea and watch as the world went by around you. Bonus points if it was raining. You could sit there for hours if it was raining.
You both sat there now, watching the snow. Brian’s arms wrapped comfortingly around you, your back pressed up against his chest with his head resting atop yours. Low Christmas music drifted through the air and the crackling of the fire only added to the coziness of the moment.
All that was missing was some hot cocoa but unfortunately you’d forgotten to pick some up at the store, which meant you had to settle for beer instead. But you didn’t care. You had the love of your life holding you close and that’s all that really mattered.
“I’m really happy we’re together this year.” You said softly, placing your hand on Brian’s as you glanced up at him, the way his eyes softened immediately when they met yours warming your heart immensely.
“Me too, baby.” Brian whispered, leaning down to place a soft kiss against your lips, feeling as they lifted beneath his as you couldn’t help but smile. He pulled back just a little, lifting one hand to gently graze his knuckles down the side of your face. “I have something for you.”
“You do?” Your eyes widened a touch, excitement filling your stomach as it wasn’t Christmas day yet and Brian always was a stickler for the rules of not opening presents until then. He nodded, shuffling a little to reach into his pocket as you lifted yourself away from him.
Spinning to face him, you crossed your legs beneath you, the smile on your face as he pulled out a neatly wrapped, small box from his pocket making him one hundred percent sure he wanted to do this right now. Not that he could have waited anyway but still, your excitement only fuelled his own and surprisingly, he wasn’t as nervous as he thought he might have been.
“I was planning to give it to you tomorrow night.” Brian said almost anxiously, his eyes glued to the box as he hesitated for just a second. He held it out towards you, eyes never leaving it until you had taken it from him and when you did, you could have sworn you heard him suck in a breath. “But I couldn’t wait any longer and honestly, doing it on Christmas seemed kinda cliche.”
“Doing what?” You asked, eyes narrowing a little as you gently shook the box. It made no noise.
“You’ll see.” Brian smiled, pushing your hands closer to you as he urged you to open the present before he did it for you as now that the gears were set in motion, he couldn’t contain his excitement. “Open it.”
“Okay.” You said with a touch of nervousness, sliding your finger through the folds of the paper and carefully tearing it open, revealing a black, velvet box beneath. “Brian…”
Your heart was practically in your throat as you realised what was happening. Your mouth unable to form anything but whispers of unintelligible babble as you shakily opened the box, your eyes tearing up when you confirmed your suspicions about what was inside.
Reaching forwards Brian took the box from you, which was easy given how limp your hands seemed to go. He stood up, pulling you up with him and the second your legs straightened, his bent and he got down on one knee.
“I’ve never had much luck when it came to relationships.” Brian began, taking your hand in his and feeling how it shook in his hold. “But when I met you… I knew I wouldn’t need luck anymore because that was the day I knew I’d found the woman I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.”
You were already crying and he hadn’t even asked you the question yet. But you knew your answer. Hell, you’d known it long before this very moment.
“Will you marry me?”
“Yes.” You nodded, the word leaving your lips before Brian’s even had a chance to settle in the air. “Yes, I’ll marry you.”
Brian’s smile widened more than you’d ever seen it and you didn’t think his dimples could get any deeper, but boy were you wrong. He got to his feet, sliding the most beautiful ring you’d ever laid eyes on onto your finger, where it fit perfectly. Like it was made just for you when in reality, Brian thought he’d have to get it resized.
The second his movements stopped you kissed him, with such intense heat that it would rival that which crackled softly in your fireplace. Your bodies pressed together firmly, his hands landing on either side of your neck as he held you the way you always liked. So gentle and caring that there wasn’t a single doubt in your mind about your answer to his question. And there never would be as Brian was the embodiment perfect.
“I love you so goddamn much.” You whispered, voice a little croaky as you were still very much, crying.
“I love you too.” Brian replied softly, brushing your hair behind your ear as he pressed another loving kiss to your lips, wondering how in the hell he managed to get so lucky. Not only had you agreed to go out with him but you’d now said yes to marrying him, surely he was dreaming?
Things heated up between you both again, your fingers working their way into his soft curls as you kissed him with enough passion that you wouldn’t have needed words to tell him you loved him. You jumped a little, wrapping your legs around his waist and feeling as his hands came to land on your upper thighs, holding you in place as he slowly made his way towards the couch.
The next thing you knew you were lying on top of him, the two of you naked, equally as sweaty as one another and completely out of breath. In other words, in complete and utter bliss as who knew a marriage proposal would result in the best sex the two of you had ever had.
Neither of you had paid any attention to the time, not until the antique grandfather clock you’d thrifted suddenly began to chime, causing you to lift your head a little and glance over at it.
“It’s midnight.” You whispered, smiling softly as your eyes fell back onto your boyf… Your fiancé, rather. You leaned down, pressing a light kiss to his lips before whispering. “Merry Christmas, Brian.”

Dividers by @/firefly-graphics
The house was chaos once again. Screams, crying, thumping and laughter from Baby’s room. That day, it annoyed Otis. The usual joy of it was gone. He reflected on how the chase was, earlier. How Baby lured the group to the house with such ease. She just bat her eyes at any man coming by and they’d come with her without a grain of suspicion in their pea-sized brains. Worst of all, Baby liked it, the attention, the way they worshipped her before the evils made themselves known. It must be nice, knowing that affection and adoration waits just around the corner. What does Otis get, then? They call him a weirdo, a freak. Not that he minds any of that. But the curled up lips, the stares, the subtle rejections… it’s a world of difference. He needed to get away from the house.
“Hey handsome,” was the waitress’ greeting as Otis entered the bar. One of his favourite country songs played, something with a bit of blues mixed in. “I’ll be right with you,” she added, before pushing open the doors to the kitchen and walking out of sight.
Pushing himself up on a bar stool, Otis looked around at the patrons. Quite busy at this hour. It was a lot easier to disappear for a little while when Baby wasn’t with him. Otis knew he wasn’t much of a looker, and he was content with that. No one cared to look twice. Besides, he wasn’t the ugliest one at the bar by far, he thought, as his eyes drifted over one of the patrons in the corner. Shrugging, he turned to the waitress again as he heard her enter, the door slamming shut behind her.
“What’ll it be, handsome?” she asked. There she went again with the flattery. He ordered his beer, and sipped in silence.
“You new here?” he asked, taking her in, taking his time staring her down in a way he knew creeped many out. She continued unloading the dishwasher as if she didn’t notice. She had a bit of an accent, unplaceable but certainly foreign.
“Somewhat, yeah. You a regular?” As she leaned down to gather the plates, her hair fell out of its updo and showed how long it was. Longer than Baby’s. Straighter too. He could wrap it around her neck and choke her with it. At that thought, he suppressed a smile.
“Only when I need to get away,” he answered to her question.
“You’re certainly not alone in that,” she said, giving him a wink as she pushed her hair up and tried her best to comb through the tangles and redo how she had it before. A bearded guy moved next to Otis, and tapped the counter with his car keys to get her attention.
“What’ll it be, sir?” she said, hands still fussing with her hair, only lowering them when the scrunchie snapped into place. As she poured the beers for the bearded man and his pals, she kept glancing over at Otis in a way he didn’t much like.
Or rather, it was the way that those stolen glances made him feel which he didn’t much like.
Once he was home, in bed, with his clothes still on, having a cigarette and watching the smoke rise to the ceiling, he thought of her. There were questions in his mind – and: ‘better luck next time’ rang through his head in what sounded like Baby’s voice. His thoughts turned sour again. It was a joy hunting with her, but when-
“Fuckin’ hell,” Otis muttered, sitting up and pressing the cigarette onto the plate on his nightstand. In the room next to his, separated by just a thin wall, was Baby and her entertainment for the night. Normally he’d leave her be and look forward to getting to cut apart the poor fellow later – not that night though. Banging his fist against the wall, Otis yelled at them to be quiet, which was just met with giggles and faster thumping. Fuck, sometimes he hated his sister.
Regardless, the noises from beside him and the girl on his mind prevented him from getting to sleep. His ratty t-shirt was the first to hit the floor. How would it be? A regular girl – not a victim, still smiling, whispering how handsome he is, leaving lipstick marks on his neck and by his ear. When he got to the button of his jeans, it wasn’t a surprise he was half-hard already. Cursing softly under his breath, he stared up, imagining her on top of him. Would she be shy? Experienced? Not that it mattered, he’d guide her through it. Teach her how to please him. His grip was tight, almost too much so, but even he had trouble showing himself kindness. But she’d feel good. Warm. Soft. He bared his neck at nothing, but it almost felt like her teeth scraped over the skin when he closed his eyes.
A particular irregular thump from beside him shook him from his bliss, and he shouted something cruel, hands too occupied to hit the wall a second time. He hoped his girl didn’t giggle like Baby did. His girl… The ease with which those words hooked themselves in him was lost on him as he squeezed his cock. Precum slicked up his hand, making his strokes more pleasurable. A low groan from the back of his throat lingered in the air. She’d moan so beautifully for him, he was sure. The pace of his hand increased as he imagined her on top of him. Her breasts bouncing as he’d fuck up into her, tugging at her nipples, or his hand around her throat to keep her put. Her blissful expression, not too dissimilar to how he looked then, eyes closed, lips parted, sweat on his brow. Or; pulling her down to him by the hair, to kiss him, keeping her close. Another guttural moan left his throat, and a gasp, as he spilled over his hand and his abdomen. He fell back into his pillow, chest heaving. Too lazy to get up and clean himself, he dangled his arm over the bed, finding his discarded t-shirt and wiped the cum off with it. Better luck next time, he told himself, and hoped he’d dream of her.

Jay Halstead x Sylvie Brett
Requested by @windshield91
TW: stillborn home birth mentioned (Sylvie is a paramedic) and shot child mentioned (Jay is a cop)
After Leslie Shay’s death, Sylvie Brett was the new paramedic on Ambulance 61. She was eventually invited out by the crew at Station 51 and spent time at Molly’s in her free time. She had friends that ran the place, of course, seeing as the bar itself was run by Dawson, Hermann and Otis.
She was bringing shots back to her table when she nearly ran into Jay, very carefully keeping the shots steady as she maneuvered around him.
“Shit, I’m sorry, did you spill any?”
“No,” Sylvie said with a smile, setting them on the table for her friends, then turning back to Jay. “Steady hands.”
Jay smiled back, nodding. “If you’re hanging out with these guys then you must either be a firefighter or a paramedic.” He punched Kelly Severide’s shoulder.
Sylvie laughed. “Paramedic. Sylvie Brett, nice to meet you.” She stuck out a hand.
“Jay Halstead, cop,” he replied, shaking her hand, holding a beer with his free one.
—
From then on, Jay purposefully would run into her at Molly’s. She slowly integrated with him and some of the other mutual friends they had. She liked being around him too, exchanging crazy stories of things they’d seen that week. Although Jay wasn’t a paramedic, word was he dated Gabby for a while, so Sylvie talked to him like he knew more than the average person. In turn, he reciprocated that and talked to her almost like a fellow cop. The two seemed to understand one another despite being from different worlds.
—
One night, Jay sat beside her at the bar. She was drinking alone. Molly’s was pretty empty. He gently touched her shoulder. “Hey, no friends tonight?”
Sylvie took in a breath, as if he’d startled her. “Oh, hey, no, I’m alone.”
Jay nodded. “Me too.” He swigged his beer, looking at her. “What’s going on? You okay?”
She shrugged. “I could ask you the same thing. I don’t see any of your colleagues around.”
Jay laughed dryly, taking another swig of his beer. “Lost a kid today. Shot in the crossfire.”
Sylvie frowned. “Was it your bullet?”
“No, it was the bad guys.” Jay shrugged and sighed. “Just brought up some memories I thought I buried.”
Sylvie nodded. “I lost an infant to a botched home birth today.” She shook her head, tears brimming her eyes. “Gosh, I… I shouldn’t care so much, but I just couldn’t get the little guy to breathe. He wouldn’t breathe.” As the tears spilled over, she put her face into her hands.
Jay frowned and gently rubbed her back. “Hey, it’s not your fault. It wasn’t meant to be. Sometimes… Things don’t work out for us.” He shrugged.
She shook her head, leaning into his touch. “I know, I know but… it doesn’t make it hurt any less.”
“I hear you.” Jay pulled her closer, embracing her in his arms as she wept softly into his chest. Tears even came to his eyes as he pushed his nose into her hair, closing his eyes and kissing the top of her head. “I’ve got you.”
After a few moments, the two pulled apart. Jay reached forward and cupped her face, wiping away her tears. She did the same for him. The mutual comfort as they gazed into each other’s eyes was unlike anything they’d felt before.
Jay smiled slightly at her, which she reciprocated. “Sorry to be such a downer,” she said softly.
“You’re not,” he replied. “I was already sad. You made it better.”
“You too.” She looked over his face. “I never realized you had so many freckles.”
Jay blushed softly, laughing and shaking his head. “No? I guess not a lot of people do.”
Sylvie laughed softly, taking Jay’s hand. “Let’s not sit at the bar and cry into our drinks.”
“Want dinner? I know a really good place down the block.” Jay stood and held her hand as they walked toward the door.
“Dinner sounds great.”
