god i wish they hadn't retconned maul's death. i get wanting to explore more of his character because he was, objectively, one of the coolest star wars characters to ever hit the big screen and didn't get much screentime prior to his death, but also his role was fulfilled perfectly within those constraints so i wasn't too upset by it.

but by retconning it and making it so he never died it's like. okay. what now? the whole point (well, to me, ymmv of course) of the theed generator fight was that it was the first ever fight between the jedi and the sith in thousands of years, and that in the end even though the jedi (obi-wan) won the fight, a jedi (qui-gon) and a sith (maul) still died. a master and an apprentice dying together to herald the start of a new age/the return of the sith. perfectly paralleling the way in rotj a master (palps) and an apprentice (anakin/vader) died together to herald the return of the jedi. in both instances, a father figure (qui-gon/vader) dies in the arms of their son (obi-wan/luke) as a sith (palps/maul) is cast down into the abyss to their deaths. (palps being alive in the ST and retconning his death in rotj is also annoying for this reason)

i mean i like maul. don't get me wrong. he's an incredibly compelling character and i enjoy seeing more of him... but there's always the thought hovering in my mind like "he should be dead though. he should 100% be dead. this wouldn't be happening if he was dead, but i honestly would rather it not if it meant that maul was dead."

like the tpm fight just doesn't hit the same knowing that canonically he's just. going to become a robot octopus at some point. (shoutout to palps becoming sith glados in the ST) it cheapens the moment for me. it was supposed to be a moment of triumph marred by the deep and soul-crushing loss of a loved one and it's just... not, anymore. or at least not to the same extent. AUGH i'm just. frustrated. wish star wars as a whole wasn't constantly reframing/retconning what's been established. just puts a bad taste in my mouth.

i have a room in wobbledogs exclusively for teeth. whenever dogs drop their baby teeth i send the teeth down the chute to to the teeth room. it's because they have a potential effect on dogs when eaten (shifts their hue toward white and increases their glow) that is cool but not quite desirable for every dog out there, and because teeth are so small, they get easily lost in nooks of rooms and also get eaten by dogs you didn't want to eat them, and when you have a dog you want to make eat teeth it's sometimes a pain to find enough. someday i will unleash dogs in here to eat teeth

So great news team, apparently that one fic showing up at the office door has started a fucking stampede as all of the protagonists in the waiting room are all storming the doorway trying to shout their ideas over each other.

There are like five fics and they are all trying to tell me all at once word for word what their first/next chapter is supposed to be.

I have coursework still to do, buddies, sit down and wait your damn turn. I am super close to finishing all of these pieces and if I get it done before the Easter break then I can crash for a while and work on you.

So I posted something because of Loverwatch when it first happened and I told myself I was not going to get invested in another ship between my own characters but. Here we are again.

Here's the gist:

The thought occurred to me that Genji is difficult to snuggle without getting pinched or imprints from the cybernetics and then just the general weight being heavier than a normal person.

Which he knows. So I suspect he would have been hesitant at first, but Abby insisted there is no engineering issue that doesn't have a solution and the same applies here. So they figured out some ways to make it work, usually by sleeping side by side and using pillows and a thick comforter to help cushion.

I have no excuse for this except a lack of self-control and that I like to see Genji happy because he deserves to be. That is all. 😂 [ And also I still blame Loverwatch, hence the relationship tag. ]

I know you probably get these asks a lot, but I've really been trying to try drawing comic pages. I really admire how free and flowing your style is! I've seen your little tutorials and tips and idk what's wrong but I just can't seem to wrap my head around panel composition? Like I do wonderful painting comps, but I can't seem to break out. Do you have any resources or help to get started?

i need to do some kind of room makeover. like everything about my room is so ALMOST there in terms of how i want it to look but its so hard because despite being able to look at other peoples rooms (like on pinterest) and see all the elements that go into making that kind of aesthetic i like.. as soon as it comes to putting it together myself i find it impossible to make it look good LOL

this might also just be a side effect of me not really liking to spend money on things like room decor. i always find it wasteful despite a lot of the room decor i enjoy looking at is kind of inherently "wasteful" because it serves no purpose outside looking pretty

My first thought when I heard about this article was "well yeah things are gonna be getting a little messy and full because with that many kids there's gonna be a lot of stuff that's useful and a lot of stuff that brings the kids joy".

It's not that she's giving up her philosophy, she's just realizing that with three young kids in the house it's not ever gonna look minimalist if you care to keep what they find useful and fills them with joy as well.

And let's face it, we know with three kids anyone with their own life outside the household is never gonna be able to clean up after all of them all them time so there's gonna be mess.

I love the fact she's being open about this so other people can see that no matter what your organizational philosophy is, life is still gonna happen sometimes andrtting your house get messy isn't a moral failing.

I saw the headline of that new marie kondo article that’s goes ‘mk admits to giving up on tidying up after her third child’ on twitter with just hundreds of people yelling about ‘vindication’ in the comments below, and I was like… I’m willing to bet actual money that the article is really about her priorities changing and that she still enjoys tidying up, but her approach to and amount of time spent on it has been altered because she’d rather spend time with her children? sooo I skimmed the article and I’m not saying somebody owes me money but somebody definitely should.

I wish I could say that I’m shocked that people on the internet would - still - be so erroneously outraged over an asian woman politely suggesting you treat yourself and your home with kindness (because your home has an enormous effect on your mental and physical health) while giving you tips on how to organise your home in small, achievable ways that you can adapt to suit your needs and wants, but I’ve been on the internet way too long for that.

she taught me several small tips that I still use in my everyday life and find hugely helpful, especially as a neurodivergent person who’s definitely not a minimalist. anyway, I hope marie kondo has a good day.
