I got hit by a huge wave of nostalgia and fell back into the Undertale rabbithole and I just couldn't resist the urge to make a Handplates skeleton lore accurate oc who I am pretty proud of ngl :] adawd

#funnily enough it all started with me finding a commentary of an undertale analog horror #and then i got the mood to play the game and sorta please my inner child by actually completing a true pacifist route #like I shit you not when I first played as a child i just got stuck on the final boss and that was it #i was seething #anyway after that i remembered that a good friend of mine really likes handplates and that I never finished it so I decided #to start watching it and now i'm obsessed X<X #and looking back it's kinda funny how from like my cringey sans fangirl era i grew so much that i can make a balanced and imo well designed #character. still when i was searching other stuff within the fandom it was still nostalgic and sort of heartwarming and interesting to see #how easy it was to impress me at such a young age. man T_T /pos #tbh Undertale holds such a special place in my heart #thinking back if i didn't have these sorta nerdy fixations and interests I would've probably just crumbled and i'm not joking. I'm glad #these things exist #anyway I should probably make an OC intro of this guy sometime #he's called Dr. T. N. I’m basically just coping directly what I can see in my mind’s eye- and I have no idea how my brain spawns these ideas they Just Happen

I get such a vivid picture sometimes that I don’t know what’s caused it or what’s inspired it I JUST have to draw the new cool dude who rotates in my brain

#Hephaestus himself gifts them to me or something idk #sometimes when I don’t like a design I’ve made it’s because I forgot what they looked like before I could draw them #that happened with a character of mine called Blaze recently #fuckin’ hated it when I was done because it didn’t look how it was supposed to #I AM trying to get into the habit of developing my ideas a bit more by pulling from reference and trying more than one attempt at a design #but I think my brain just stores reference material and throws them in a jumble at me sometimes #this is why I struggle so badly to make designs sometimes because my brain isn’t supplying the funny guys anymore #bitch get the factory running again I want to draw #I think I’ve mentioned this before but I have a near constant like.#reel of movies going through my head about different characters and stories #and I just pull from that when I wanna draw something #I know it’s my own mind and creativity doing these things but I feel like an outsider to my own process JGSHKDDK #idk how I got here but I sure am here #this is all very lighthearted n silly btw I love the way my mind works with this stuff #it’s just not very helpful for other people #anon #asks #oc: moth #art tag #oc tag

i kind of more and more am tempted to make a dragon age server with a focus on ocs because i really want a space to like. worlbuild and chat with people about ocs and consider their interactions but bc i dont know a Whole lot of da people anymore i am wary considering the drama and discourse that can occur here is. its a lot. and i am not in the mental place to mod a server where a bunch of active insane discourse shit is occurring.

but idk if any followers/mutuals would be game for a server like that lmk i could be convinced. maybe itll only be like 5 people and it wont matter. maybe it gets slightly bigger and i just have someone else help me mod

officially 10K into this fic and having a realization about where I'm at on characterization so far, so i'm wondering:

#N posts stuff #i'm like. this first draft is really the writing equivalent of layout sketching: which characters are where / what's the scene About #with the expectation that the second draft will have the building blocks there to build up specific characterization further #but i'm realizing that i am in fact SO broad strokes on the characters so far that i'd need to do extensive studying #of the source material to really hammer in the characterization in a way that i would be satisfied with. a task that at this point #likely wouldn't be very fun. so i had a moment of 'oh idek if i'll be able to finish writing this fic :(' and got sad about it #which was where the 'oh. actually if i'm That loose on characterization right now I could just. shift the characters in #Whatever ways i want them to go and just make them OCs instead of fanfic...' which would actually be like. technically speaking #a Lot more fun bc this fic is so self-indulgent that i keep having moments where i'm pulling back on other elements i'd want to #incorporate into the fic bc 'if it's Too self-indulgent with numerous headcanons it won't be Good to fandom readers'#(ie the character who would Really vibe being a furry and the other begging to be a tgirl)#it Might wind up being something we do no matter what but i am still curious if there would be like. an actual audience for it #and not just something i'm doing all for myself lol; i used to make a LOT of ocs but haven't really done it in Years nd Years #i had a 'no way' moment but i Have had multiple people tell me they read my fics Regardless of whether they've seen source #material or not. so tentatively hopeful the answer is yes? but i'm curious :3

No more doodles for today I got migraine
