BEWARE OSEAN LIES
Osea claims that we killed an estimated 12,000 of our own citizens. The people of Belka know better. Our top researchers say 99.9% of those 12,000 were Osean and Ustian fighters.
We were defending land thats rightfully ours. Oseans claim that we haven't made any efforts to clean up the ratiation in the top soil. We have removed over 1,700 tons of soil since the act of defense.

You don't have to answer this publicly(you never have to answer anything publicly, or at all, but I feel obligated to say that whenever it's about something sensitive), but just how bad was the shit you were getting sent? A part of me's honestly considering trying to elbow my way into the group of people Lily and her cult hate enough to spam just to see what kind of demented nonsense they'll throw at me, what kind of absurd insults they'll use("oh look, your pfp isn't white, you're committing digital blackface!" or something equally as absurd). But even if I don't do that, for all I know my current level of just reblogging you and osean-kitty might already make me a potential target, and I'd rather know at least the general content I'm potentially in for.
The worst of it was most likely coming from Sparky, who isn't affiliated with Lily. He's just an unhinged predatory troll that pops up every so often to stir the pot. He was likely the one sending the deranged pedophillic anons to us and Mikhaila.
As for the ones that are definitely Lily, she's mostly been targeting asunnycoffee over the past week. He's been sent aggressive, raging messages about "spreading lies about an indigenous trans woman", having his identity outright denied, being told he "only said he was Japanese when it was convenient", and being put down for liking Sonic the Hedgehog (yes, really).

When I made that post on liking that it’s Belka again, I actually meant it.
Heavy Ace 7 spoilers
Ok, Ace 7 sets up the framework to pass some secret conspiracy, anti-”American Styled Imperialism” [which is not] crap. It sets it up hard, and lure you into to believing that’s the way it’s going to go.
It starts off with the player dealing with an attack on forward Osean bases, launched by Drones. You learn of the penal unit, and the Global presence of the Osean military. This is topped off by the Space Elevator which is there to “exploit Eursea”. That stinking undercoat of a modern “America actually is bad” story, topped off by civilian killings that are said to be accidental, but in the fog of war may have not been.
You then get framed for killing Harling. You deal with corrupt commanders, and there’s this possible incident of your AWACS having your wingman murder another of the unit. It certainly seems like there’s a set up for uncovering some conspiracy on how Osea’s really at fault.
Then... you don’t. You don’t at all.
You save your corrupt CO, who tries to throw you under the bus, and are recruited into the LRSSG. There’s a “Nothing is cool and we really did ~~send Blaze’s waifu to the asteroid belt~~ put a man on the moon” approach to the potential conspiracies. The plot with Bandog and Full Band? Dropped like a hot coal- it probably WAS an accident. The war? It was all lies [by Belka]. The Elevator? It wasn’t supposed to exploit Eursea. It wasn’t going to be the only one. It does a lot of set up, and then denies it. Because the concept is wrong.
You never flip sides. You fight alongside everyone against the Drones, but are still flying for Osea the whole way through the game. Because, wait for it, Osea aren’t the bad guys. At all.

Onder die Waterval
Was julle al ooit by die Niagara-waterval?
(Joh. 13:1)
Sy liefde is sonder maat, 'Want so hoog as die hemel is bo die aarde, so geweldig is sy goedertierenheid oor die wat Hom vrees.' Ps. 103:11.
Soos die magtige Niagara-waterval, vloei dit rondom ons en vertroos en besiel ons, en voorsien in al ons behoeftes 'na sy rykdom in heerlikehid. ' (Filip. 4:19)

Ace Combat 7's themes were pretty clear to me, it was about the reasons for human progress to continue and what kind of future we want to create. The tragic superweapon in this case wasn't Hugin and Munin themselves, it was the space elevator.
The space elevator, in almost literal terms, is the "ivory tower" of human progress. It's the culmination of all human knowledge and technology, reaching all the way to the stars. Hugin and Munin - named after the ravens of Odin, norse god of war ‐ are the incarnations of war and conflict. Hugin and Munin commandeered the space elevator to use it as a transmission tower to spread their combat algorithm to the rest of the drones, symbolically co-opting all of human progress for the sake of never-ending war and conflict.
The in-universe reason for Hugin and Munin to be the incarnation of inhumanity and war is because they were built on Mihaly's flying style - a flying style that Mihaly perfected due to his utter disregard for his own human limitations or earthly desires. Mihaly used flying as a form of escape from his life, treating the sky as his new kingdom after his actual kingdom was lost. He gave up nobility, family, health, and everything else so he could become the best pilot in the world, despite all the tolls it would have on him.
The Belkan scientist saw his inhuman flying style that sacrificed everything for the sake of pure performance, and felt like it was perfect for his drones. Drones have no human limitations, no human considerations, no need to accommodate anything but their mission parameters. And yes, used well they actually are noble: early on it's made very clear that the automated drones cause minimal civilian casualties and save troops from having to fight and risk their lives. But the flipside of that is that the more they are automated, the less their desires need to align with their controllers'. If you give a superintelligent AI with no regard for human limitations the goal of "win the war by destroying Osea's military capabilities," it will do exactly that: fight and fight and fight and fight until every Osean capable of using a weapon is dead, or until you tell it to stop. And with every satellite in the sky destroyed by Kessler Syndrome, there is no way to tell the AI that the war is over. The off switch burned up with the rest of the sky, and without it there is no going back.
The silver lining of the satellite network going down is that the space elevator - symbol of mankind's progress - was the only transmitter capable of spreading the AI's directives to the rest of the drones, meaning that Hugin and Munin needed to head to that specific location in order to propagate their new directives. Maybe their reason for doing this was a little more poetic than it seems, though - Mihaly's intentions in pushing his body beyond its limits were never cruel, despite all the people he'd killed over the years. He simply wanted to escape from his human limitations, to fly free and unburdened by the troubles of his life. Maybe Hugin and Munin, too, just wanted to be free. Maybe they chose the space elevator because of what it represented - the potential for humanity to surpass its limitations. This time not through force and human sacrifice like weapons of war and Mihaly's ruthless flying, but through cooperation and ingenuity. And, knowingly or unknowingly, seized that promise for themselves, corrupting it.
But maybe it's foolish to ascribe such metaphorical thinking to a cold machine. Then again, it is a human creation, isn't it? Perhaps more of its creators rubbed off on it than originally intended. Or not, it's hard to believe that could be the case. I guess the real answer lies in what you see when you gaze into Harling's mirror. Is human progress something to defend, or is it something to defend yourself from? Does it have to be either? Why not both?
Okay so like. One of the things I love about the Ace Combat franchise is how (at least in 4-6, the ones with which I am most familiar) the superweapons are sort of tragic. They were usually built for a noble purpose but were repurposed by desperate nationalists to cause as much indiscriminate damage to their perceived enemies as possible. The specific reasons why and the methods how depend on the game, but for those four games, that was the case.
It’s a powerful message, especially coming from a game studio from Japan, the only county in the world to have had cities destroyed with nuclear weapons.
7 was just… weird to me, because in the end, it isn’t nationalists who are causing devastation and destruction on a massive scale, it’s… drones? Not like remotely piloted drones, but AI drones that have lost control? And everyone is united in trying to defeat them?
I just… I dunno. I’m not the best at critical analysis. It just… struck me as odd.
