This is a comprehensive, ever-updating list of my current WIPs! Every WIP that has a solid enough concept/outline, that I could theoretically start writing immediately, goes here. The Divinations Trilogy (Book 1: Entrails of the Animals)

Kirsen is a young elf who doesn't really know how to function if she doesn't have a job- a purpose, to keep her busy. When she stumbles upon the Ironwatch, and an ages-old prophecy about ending the world with a magic as rare as it is powerful, it really does seem like she's found just that. But life in Usoara will never be quite so simple and there are life-shattering revelations just waiting to claw their way to freedom. If Kirsen isn't careful, attempting to save the world as she knows it may end up costing more than she is capable of giving.

They were the only ones, once upon a time, and no one has ever bothered to write something explaining the culture and ways of them. So, it looks like Fiona's going to have to do that one herself, if she wants to figure out just what it means to be human. A.K.A. The four most traumatized young adults you've ever seen end up teaching each other how to actually acknowledge their mental health and take care of themselves- with a few hang-ups along the way.

Tales of the Lady Red

The Tyrant Queen's children flee the castle in the night, taking to a ship with the goal of making it as far away as possible. A notorious pirate ship, the Red Lady, interferes with that plan. Its Captain is someone with a hunger for the promise of infamy and the way to reach it presented to her on a silver platter; ransom the Queen's children back to her and disappear before the other shoe drops. The siblings were finally free of their mother's abuse...but are they prepared for the harsh life that awaits outside the castle walls?

They Sing of Fireflies

Firefly ran away from home to become a bounty hunter- what they didn't expect to discover was a deadly conspiracy to wipe out lycanthropy and vampirism, no matter how many innocent lives it takes to do so. Which is a bit much for a fifteen-year-old looking for their first taste of danger. But trying to put your past behind you has a funny way of backfiring sometimes and ignoring your future does not prevent it from bleeding out at your feet. When you keep ignoring it, even as the red trails behind you with every step, it's easy to pretend you will outrun the consequences...but your ancestors will sing of your avoidable mistakes.

Momentum

Little Fang

How long does it take you to realize that YOU are the monster under the bed?

If she ever wants to get her family back, she's going to have to find the handful of other residents that seem to be unaffected and get to the bottom of things...before there are no more brainwashed-civilians left to save.

Like A Stray Dog

Harmonia awakens in a clinic bed without a shred of memory- even the name "Harmonia" is something she came up with just so she'd have something to hold onto. The single instance she remembers is from the moment before this blackout: a scar-faced woman standing over her with a bloodied weapon. With her life effectively stolen from her(in more ways than one, considering she clung to life in a dazed stupor for two weeks before recovering enough to move at all), Harmonia sets out to find this woman- the person she knows in her heart to be responsible for all of this. She's going to get her answers, her LIFE back…even if she has to forcibly tear it from this woman once she finds her.

Temporal Remedy

After awakening on a space station with no memories aside from her name, Remedy must make what she can out of this new life she has. Unfortunately, she doesn't feel like she was ever the type to sit back and let life sort itself out. When Remedy gets ahold of one of the station's infamous time-travel devices and uses it in a panic, to avoid being caught red-handed, it deposits her in what seems to be several decades earlier.

Which, coincidentally, happens to be the two week period where dozens of crewmembers began disappearing from the station without a trace...and nobody ever figured out what truly happened. So really, when presented with two exciting and enticing mysteries to discover, what did you expect the super nosy, headstrong idiot to do? NOT try and investigate them both at the same time?

It seems like a big part of the Crowdstrike situation is the use of a big, high attack surface, mutable OS as a HAL for information appliances (for instance a ticket kiosk). I think rather than sprinkling more and more aggressive EDR on a mega-OS, we should be trying to remove as much from the OS as possible and make the OS as immutable as possible.

Even more so it seems like there was a big push to Crowdstrike and high velocity EDR updates after WannaCry, a crypto locker. But it seems like a kiosk doesn't have much local state to lock up / destroy in the first place. It's most dangerous first as an entry point to the datastore, and second as system that needs high availability for the meat space service it enables. It seems like the same remediation policy for at datastore might not be so great for an endpoint.

The 1980s were an important – and interesting – decade in the synth world. Polyphony was becoming de rigueur and digital synthesis was gaining a foothold with the Yamaha DX-7 and various digital samplers, while stripped-down synths like the Juno 106 and Korg Poly 6 were making synthesis available to the masses. The stage was set for Tom Oberheim – who had been designing some of the best-sounding synths for over a decade – to introduce a no-holds-barred analog synth. And so the Oberheim Matrix 12 was unleashed upon the world in 1985. It was, indeed, an all-out assault on the state of the art, with glorious sonics and tantalizing modulation possibilities, but its near-five-grand price tag put it out of reach for all but a few fortunate souls. Around 1000 units were produced, many of which are still making music to this day.

And Matrix 12 V’s elegant software interface makes configuring all this a cinch. While the original Matrix 12 was an amazing synthesis achievement, Arturia upped the ante by adding a new effects chain for additional sound processing. They also doubled the allowable number of modulations from 20 to 40, giving you even more creative options. Factor in the ability to control all of Matrix 12 V’s parameters via MIDI, letting you perform automation in your DAW, and you’ve got a total beast of a soft synth.

She's the daughter of the main villain and doesn't even know it until she's 18

Is technically one of the popular kids at the Academy, but has a major unrequited crush on one of the punk weirdos! So she doesn't quite fit in either group and she's well aware all of her friends actually find her very annoying

Gains the title of Star Pupil after the previous ones (the punk weirdos) realized the Academy was actually super fucked up and escaped

Everything she does from that point on is controlled and monitored, as they groom her into the perfect little follower

Is sent to kill a Dragon which I'd dangerous and awful by itself, but even worse when you add in that Dragons are considered one of the Living Gods in my lore. They sent a teenager to kill a God and didn't care if she came back or not

Doesn't use Havoc magic for 25 years and her body almost returns to normal! Except then she uses ten tons of it at once to find/rescue her crushes kid and all the corruption comes back with a vengeance
