I know, I know the Nutcracker season is kinda behind us but still I wanted to share the process of creating this very special for me piece. I love the Nutcracker ballet and this is the first proper fanart I made. I enjoyed every minute of the process and now I adore the story even more 💙🍭

I have seen this video a bunch of times, and the way other professional commentators responded to this really bothered me.

In the video, Jennifer Wang is responding to a video about a coat on Abercrombie and Fitch’s website that is titled “Wool-Blend Mod Coat” in the US and “Textured Mod Coat” in Canada. There is not one thread, yarn, or stitch of wool. It’s being marketed as a “wool blend” (in the States… I’m curious about what the difference in regulations is they didn’t try that in Canada.)

Every single other person I saw talking about this talked instead about how you can call something with a very small (but real) amount of the fabric a blend, when that’s not what happened here! There is 0% wool! Nothing! A sheep did not cough on this coat! But it’s being marketed as if the polyester in this coat went to a farm and got hitched with some sheep’s hair! That’s a problem! This should be just blatantly considered fraud! So either, they assumed laypeople getting upset about this were wrong or they didn’t think blatant marketing fraud was a huge deal (which it is! People are right to be extremely angry about this!)!! It IS a huge deal when companies try to push the line of nonexistent regulations or deregulation into fraudulent marketing!

And not one person (that I saw responding, so I could have missed it, which means if they did their insight wasn’t being promoted) looked into the difference of regulation that stopped them from doing this internationally?

Best case scenario is they saw this similar coat “Wool-Blend Mod Coat” (in Canada) which are three wool blend coats that are all around 30% wool, but each colorway is a different amount, and thought that’s what people were upset about. But if you don’t have the time or wherewithal to do your own research… don’t comment on ongoing scandals?

Speaking of which… this scandal better be ongoing because in the video, you can see reviews from the States. I got the “Be the first to review this product” message. So, either, they’ve geolocked the reviews or they’ve scrubbed them. If you’re American, let me know which, I guess.
