Okay, so y'all know the phenomenon where American media companies say they can't produce queer stories because they'll just get censored in foreign markets? It's transparent as hell, because the dominant culture of the United States is still violently queerphobic, and in many cases, state queerphobia in other countries is the direct result of Christian imperialism. The US is not the enlightened gay haven in a world of evil homophobic foreigners, and trying to pretend that American media can't be too gay because it'll be censored overseas is asinine. We all know that, right?

Anyway, today I learned that there is an episode of the Australian cartoon Bluey that has been censored in the United States because it shows the dad character pretending to be pregnant and have a baby as part of a game of pretend. Disney refuses to air it on the Disney Channel or on Disney+. It has been made available on YouTube by the Australian rights holders.

So let's quit fucking pretending that Disney is actually scared of foreign censors, hm? The queerphobic censorship is coming from inside the House of Mouse, and it always has been.

For full transparency:

I am not in dire financial straights because of buying the flight tickets. I have done as much as I could to prepare for this flight months in advance, but I am also not exactly in a high paying position to afford this on a regular basis; this did take a healthy chunk of cash, just about $800 for flying alone. I'm not expecting that this sale covers all of it as I am still working my irl job as well (some weeks are better than others). If anything, any commissions that contributes to recouping the tickets will be something I am incredibly grateful for.

I am leaving on September 19th and returning on October 3rd (2 week period). I do have the sale extending just past when I make it home rather than giving such a short deadline before I leave. If you want to place an order while I am in the middle of my visit, it will be my first priority as soon as I come back and survive jet-lag.

Bluey Sugarshores! I finally got behind redesigning her because I felt she needed an upgrade. Everything is still the same, mostly, she's still an astronomer and a country gal! On snaktooth she mainly hangs around either Triffany or Floofty, even though she doesn't exactly like Floofty and side eyes them any chance she physically gets

She didn't move out from snaxburg, seeing as she was sleeping in her hut when everygrump was arguing. And for emotional support for Filbo because he needs it. She's usually seen walking around snaxburg at night, sometimes pulling out a cane to help her get around!

This episode of Bluey is called "Beach day!"

I'm not really the biggest fan of the beach, but it's still nostalgic to remember going as a kid and building sand castles with my big sister

I hope I get to go again someday with a cg or an agere friend and have so so much fun!
