Very Dope new visual by @cfluxsing check’em out! #Repost @cfluxsing My piece from tonight's show "Blooms" at @facetgallery It's called "Beautiful Deceit". The flower's are called a Water Hyacinths. They are these pretty weeds native to Tropical America. First introduced in South Africa in the early 1900's. The weed functions by depleting the oxygen in water as well as smothering bodies of water disallowing life forms from receiving nutrients this, killing them. The symbolism is western culture, no matter how exciting, technically advanced, appearance of moral beauty or freedom, it tends to overtake traditional cultures of the people whose ancestors have long been existing. It was good to see such a diverse crowd come out for what feels like such an isolated epidemic. You MUST see this especially if you live in Atlanta!! I would love to see it make it to Sundance Film Festival as well. . . 15 years ago @whohetalkingto began @ftpmovement which has since gone International and continues to grow. They’ve been vital components to Feeding our homeless, working with children, those in need , Fighting cases to Free wrongfully accused Black citizens and exposing Police Brutality on local and National levels. . . . I commend the Directors and Producers @whohetalkingto , @vaunghnsaber @reeswa and Power Haus Creative’s own @cfluxsing for doing such a great job and being transparent with their challenges. . . . I’m calling on the City to spread the word (it’s free...) and get with the program! Been a long time coming and the support it real! Thank you to all that came out. By @ejaearth ・・・ "#Yesterday, all our troubles seemed so faaaaaar away..." 15 years of #grassroots #Organizing in #Atlanta was presented on the big screen yesterday at @plazaatlanta in our #feature length film #documentary- #OrganizingIsTheNewCool executive produced and directed by @cfluxsing, @reeswa, @vaunghnsaber, and @whohetalkingto. . . . (Personally, I've had the honor of witnessing and building for 12 of those years. Watching this film I saw a glimpse into the chronicles of the entirety of my 9-year-old's life... from gestation, to stroller, to big-brotherood. I'm in awe of this #timecapsule of our #collectiveworks within this brilliant, beautiful, vibrant entity of #communityorganizing!) . . . After, the folks hosted an #artshow at @westviewmakers. I'm gonna post more of the #artwork in the next post. These works will be up for viewing for three more weeks, so pay them a visit, and send inquiries to #curator and #artist @cfluxsing.
