Rediscovering Tradition: Kamut Khorasan Wheat Flour from Grand Teton Ancient Grains
In the world of culinary exploration, the spotlight often falls on the exotic and the innovative. Yet, there is a silent revolution underway, one that embraces the rich heritage of ancient grains and their profound connection to our past. Grand Teton Ancient Grains, a name resonating with tradition and authenticity, has emerged as a torchbearer in this movement. At the heart of their offerings lies the remarkable Kamut Khorasan wheat flour, a time-honored grain that speaks volumes about the past, present, and future of nourishment.
Amidst the bustling aisles of modern supermarkets, Kamut Khorasan wheat flour stands as a testament to the agricultural traditions that have sustained humanity for millennia. Grand Teton Ancient Grains' commitment to preserving and sharing this remarkable grain is nothing short of inspiring. Derived from an ancient variety of wheat, Kamut flour carries with it the echoes of civilizations long gone. With its roots tracing back to the fertile crescent of ancient Egypt, this heirloom grain embodies the essence of history in every kernel.
What sets Kamut wheat apart is not only its storied past but also its nutritional prowess. The wheat's larger kernels are a reservoir of essential nutrients, boasting higher levels of protein, lipids, amino acids, vitamins, and minerals compared to modern wheat. This makes Kamut flour a wholesome choice for those seeking not just sustenance, but a holistic approach to health.

The journey from field to flour is a meticulous one, and Grand Teton Ancient Grains has mastered this art. The grain is cultivated using sustainable and regenerative farming practices, harkening back to an era when the land was revered and nurtured. The result is a flour that not only benefits the body but also reflects a commitment to environmental stewardship.
In the realm of culinary creations, Kamut Khorasan wheat flour displays remarkable versatility. Its nutty, buttery flavor adds a distinct character to baked goods, from artisanal bread to pastries. As the popularity of ancient grains surges, this flour finds its way into kitchens that cherish the art of slow living and savoring simple, unadulterated ingredients.
Grand Teton Ancient Grains' dedication to preserving the legacy of Kamut wheat extends beyond mere sustenance. It is an ode to tradition, a nod to the wisdom of our ancestors, and a pledge to safeguard the diversity of our food heritage. In an age where convenience often overshadows quality, the emergence of enterprises like Grand Teton Ancient Grains is a reassuring reminder that the old ways are worth celebrating.
In conclusion, Kamut Khorasan wheat flour from Grand Teton Ancient Grains is more than just a culinary ingredient; it is a bridge that connects us to our roots and a step toward a more sustainable future. As we knead the flour, we knead history into our lives, cherishing the past while shaping the present and influencing the future of nourishment.

I have never been able to, and in fact feel sick if I have to fast for medical procedures and other such reasons. I am lucky that I have not yet known what it is like to starve for days on end but the same cannot be said for Gazans who are trying to survive through a genocide.
Recently my friend Mohammad Ayesh ( @ayeshjourney ) has told me how difficult it has been to acquire even a single bag of flour. The blockade and the destruction from the continuous bombing for over 400 days, have caused a famine to set in. So right now it costs no less that $250 USD to buy a single of bag of flour and with the way donations are barely trickling in, it is becoming difficult for Mohammad and his family to acquire these basic necessities for survival.
I know you have read all this before but still I would request you to make an effort for Mohammad and his family. Please understand that every single day Mohammad is weighed down by a bone deep tiredness. He is working day and night to provide aid, which is why he cannot be online to campaign for his fundraiser. He also feels as if the free world is giving into apathy...please don't let it be so..please help Mohammad and boost and donate to his fundraiser.

Today's (3/25/2025) Episode: A Nose For News
Skye’s father had given xem a lot of advice about success growing up, and his advice after xir most recent embarrassment was blessedly simple.
“Ignore it and focus on working as hard as you can” he had told him. “As this one incident fades in people’s memory new successes, or even new failures, will quickly erase it.”
When Sigrid assigned xem to cover The Spice Festival Skye rose to the challenge, sure that the varied diet xe’d grown up on would allow xem to conquer the Spicy Curry Challenge with ease and look cool while doing it. Surely that would mute online criticism of his unfortunate photoshoot.
Unfortunately, xe was very wrong about how well he could keep his cool… literally. Xir parents had never been fans of spicy food, and the intense heat of the dish quickly overwhelmed the lightweight's refined palate. Skye left the event with a sore tongue and a broken spirit.
“You sent me to cover the festival because you thought I could handle it, and I failed!” Skye cried to xir boss the next day at the office “I’m so sorry! I totally understand if you need to take me off this assignment… I’m an embarrassment to the entire organization!”
“Skye… hardly anyone succeeds at the curry challenge the first time” Sigrid soothed. “Winning was never the goal; I fully expected you to fail. In our business, what matters most is compelling, relatable, content for our readers. The news isn’t about boring perfection, but interesting details.”
“I bet you set up your camera on a timer and got a fantastic shot of your mouth ablaze… didn’t you?” she continued.
Skye nodded “Sure. I had to capture my reaction, but I wasn’t planning to publish those pictures once I saw them.”
“Wrong!” Sigrid shook her head “That’s EXACTLY the story that is going to sell papers. If you want to succeed in this business you’ve got to develop a nose for the news kid, and that means learning about your subjects' lives. That personal interest angle is what will set your writing apart!”
Skye thought back to xir earliest successes, selling photos of their families intimate private moments to the tabloids, and nodded. “OK – I get it. So, me losing in a humiliating fashion was actually sort of a lucky break, in terms of being a compelling story?”
“That’s the spirit!” she laughed “Now get out of here and find our audience some more sparks of fascinating vulnerability; there’s a food stall that just opened in Willow Creek and I want you to go sample the menu and dig up something interesting to tell our readers about the experience.”
Braving the cold to try out Willow’s Creek’s newest eatery Skye warmed up with a so-so bowl of fish chowder and learned all about the proprietor's hatred of Gummy Bear pancakes.
Her dislike of the super popular childhood classic had inspired her to attempt to find better uses for flour and sugar, which had led her to opening the very food stall Skye was eating at! Skye even managed to convince her to share with xem her recipe for cinnamon sugar pretzels. “My twisty treats are 10 times better for breakfast than that disaster of a pancake everyone can’t seem to get enough of!” she proudly exclaimed.
As xe headed back to try making the pretzels in the office test kitchen and write up xir article Skye felt bad xe was going to be giving the stall a mediocre review – a place so close to the water should be serving MUCH better fish than THAT – but felt good about ferreting out xir first secret!
I almost said no to the Nosy trait when it popped up for Skye, but then I realized it was a perfect tie-in to their work on the newspaper. It is structured a bit differently as designed than I intend to use it, as you can see from this episode.
So far, it's been a fun one; the secrets xe has learned have been really creative and enjoyable!

Alex and Abigail
She's that weird purple haired girl, right? Hangs out in graveyards sometimes?
Alex finds her kinda cute... pint-sized. Sometimes daydreams about carrying her, piggyback style.
Abi first noticed Alex when he was mourning his mom at the graveside. She respectfully ignored when he swiped at tears and found another place to journal.
Alex first noticed Abi when he was walking back from his workout at the spa on a summer afternoon. She was playing her flute in the woods. He couldn't help but stare a little bit from behind a tree. He found the music hauntingly beautiful. (And... he's a butt guy, and she has a nice ass, especially while swaying around as she played her flute).
She convinces her dad to give Alex a summer job as a stock boy.
Alex can reach the top shelves and carry heavy bags with ease.
Ngl... she appreciates the "view" of Alex hoisting large bags of potatoes.
The job doesn't pay great but it's something. And he gets a discount on Granny's groceries.
Abi once brought an order of flour, sugar, and baking powder that Alex forgot at the store. She "saved" the day. Evelyn invites her to stay for dinner.
She watched a horror movie with George while Ev fixes their food. His Gramps isn't scared of anything.
Alex didn't want to admit it but he was a little startled by the jump scare scenes. Abi talks a lot throughout the movie and dinner (which George finds annoying). Alex is only half-listening, but he likes her voice. And he's a bit mesmerized by her lips.
She stays to help Alex with dishes while Ev helps George with his evening bath. Abi is a bit playful and splashes water at himz and tosses a sponge.
Oh you're gonna get it! Alex enjoys the playfulness. He splashes her back, maybe even snaps the dish towel toward her ass.
Flirty house chores are the best!
He offers to walk her home, even though it's not far. And then dawdles a bit outside the back door.
The next time Abi sees him, she brings a nice meaty bone for Dusty.
Alex is in love! 😍
Abi wants to join the Adventure Guild... badly. Alex knows this. He offers (in a confident but sincere way) to help her train physically. If she wants. She gladly accepts.
He looks forward to training days with Abi. Starting out with light weights. Then short runs. Sit-ups. Push-ups.
As he grows more comfortable with her, Alex takes off his shirt for jogs on the beach.
She playfully pokes his abs. He likes it!
He builds her an entire training course in the woods over a few weeks. When she sees it, Abi is stunned. Speechless.
Then she leaps into his arms and kisses him, overjoyed.
Of course, it's raining.
Alex isn't big on sweeping romantic gestures. He's a practical guy. This was practical AND romantic.
At first, he's a little flushed, surprised.
They've been flirty for weeks. And she's a bit younger than him.
He expected to make the first move... eventually. But...
Abi doesn't move slow. And he loves it!
Even if it's just a summer fling, Alex feels it is worth it.
After their makeout session in the woods, the two spend loads of time together.
Swimming in the lakes, rivers.
Parasailing in the ocean.
Hiking in the mountains.
Walking Dusty around town together.
Making cookies and watching movies.
Tossing around the gridball.
Organizing a water balloon toss during the luau.
Going to the skate park / batting cages with Sam, who wholeheartedly supports this pairing.
Seb takes a bit to warm to the idea, but only because he's protective of Abigail.
He sees how happy Alex makes her, and comes around. Maybe even plays a little fantasy gridball online with Alex / Shane. Seb goes easy on Alex. Shane does not.
Abi is so supportive of Alex's dream to play gridball professionally.
When an opportunity arises, she encourages him to try out for the minors.
And she bakes him a cake to celebrate when he makes the cut.
She is so proud of him! And he is over the moon that she believes in him.
It's not the Tunnelers. But it doesn't matter. They are both thrilled.
He trains his replacement before he leaves (Martin and Shane, when JojaMart closes).
Which makes Abi love him more.
Alex is so responsible and loyal. Even her dad has to admit that he's good for Abi.
And Alex couldn't be prouder (or louder), cheering in the front row, when she walks across the stage to get her uni diploma.
He knows she worked so hard and he throws her a party to celebrate.
Complete with a pop rocks cake!
And when she decides she wants to pursue a master's, he is right there with her, researching options, learning all he can about the various schools in the area for her specialty.
Abi selects a program near his stadium.
They get a little apartment in Zuzu City.
And every day, he walks her to class and picks her up after practice.
Literally.
She squeals every time.
He takes her out for pizza and beer.
Or cooks at home.
He's actually pretty domestic thanks to Granny. Makes good soups.
And let's be honest... he makes grilled cheeses like nobody's business.
She loves when he wears a long apron... nothing else. 😉
Alex picks out a stone.
The biggest rock he can afford.
But first... he teases her with a rock candy ring.
She loves to chew "rocks" after all. Haha!
When she sees it, she immediately says yes and jumps in his arms.
Even before seeing the "real deal."
You make me a better man... he says. And I will work hard every day to give you the life you deserve.
Her mom and his granny are thrilled to plan a wedding together.
Caroline takes Abi dress shopping, and she invites Alex over frequently for family game nights.
Alex looks forward to it and feels so welcome.
Plus Caroline brews the best tea.
Alex wasn't even a tea drinker before. But Abi's mom makes good stuff.
He feels so grateful for another mom figure in his life. Especially since he lost his mom so young.
George grunts a lot, but he sees how good Abigail is for his grandson.
And Pierre is skeptical but... he knows how well Alex cares for his daughter.
And the two get married... in the woods... where he first saw her play the flute.
Abigail with her long hair flowing, and white dreamy sleeves, flowers in her hair.
Alex in a tux... that George wore for his wedding day. Ev has to take it out a smidge (because Alex is more muscular) but he looks fantastic.
As she walks down the flower petal aisle, barefoot in the soft grass, she winks at him.
He's the luckiest guy alive!
It's a magical day!
Sometimes he can hardly believe this is his life now!
These two (suddenly) make so much sense to me! 🥰

I have a bunch of uninteresting food-related posts so I'm merging them into one four-course megapost:
I ended up not being able to go to costco (long story with too much personal info) but I still tried to get your recommendations in other grocery trips. Tostada shells 👍. The muffins became a midnight snack. I am still not eating breakfast. The local store sushi did not pass my tests so I didn't get it sorry. Also they don't sell the protein shakes locally which is messed up. And eating hummus reinvigorated my love for spreads. I have so many spreads in my fridge now
I bought a "Organic Nine-Grain Sandwich Sourdough loaf" from the fancy artisan store. It tastes and looks like the standard Trader Joe sourdough. This is because the main flour is unbleached wheat flour, and the flours derived from the 8 other grains are negligible ingredients listed below salt on the ingredients label.
I bought a hunk of fancy Parmesan for pasta and then keep forgetting to grate it onto my pasta because I get to excited to start eating the pasta. I am also doing this with a bottle of finishing toasted sesame oil on fried rice.
Does anyone have good turnip recipes? I got some from a friend, and tried roasting one in the oven (well. air fryer. but same thing.) per an online recipe but they came out bitter and incredibly mushy.
That northernlion clip of "The ice cream might be a goated pickup" has been more effective advertising for the dairy industry than all their billboards combined.

grocery list time~
literally just get these things if you want a vegan low cal life, because you can control portions and make things you enjoy eating with less calories- i made some example recipes under the list:
coffee.
SPICES. please make the investment into SPICES!
->continuation of spices, heres a basic list- cocoa powder, cinnamon, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, veggie bouillon powder/cubes, salt, pepper, lemon pepper, etc (you can find more online but please dont forget it)
->and simple sauces like soy sauce, basic hot sauce, mustard, white vinegar, apple cider vinegar, etc.
stevia or agave fruit sweetener. (please make sure whatever you choose you dont buy any sweetener with aspartame!!)
dairy free yogurt (i’ve heard coconut is good)
dairy free butter (earthbalance is my fav by far)
-> you could also make due with olive oil (cooking)
1st milk for normal stuff- unsweet cashew milk or unsweet creamy almond milk
->2nd milk for cooking- i suggest soymilk but creamy coconutmilk works good too
tofu. extra firm and silky work for different things (meat substitutes, egg substitute, diff. milk products substitutes) get either/both
carrots, mushrooms, chickpeas, and cauliflower all make good meat substitutes (bacon, chicken nuggets, pulled pork, etc) if cooked properly
OATS! plain oats are soooo versatile (used as flour, cereal, granola, crust, etc)
ricecakes (i use it as replacement for toast)
Pumpkin or sweet potato (in NO SYRUP canned form, very good for cooking low cal desserts or protein bars)
apple sauce (used for cooking and just yum- can be an egg substitute)
low cal noodle types- chickpea, edamame, shirataki, konjac, cauliflower, zucchini, spaghetti squash, and i think miracle noodle
literally any and all veggies and fruits- but a reminder of basics are broccoli, cucumber, onions, spinach, beets, eggplant, tomato, zucchini, potato, apple, banana, grapes, oranges, pineapple, strawberries, watermelon, mango, etc
WARNING ⚠️ be careful of sugar free drink flavor packets as they contain aspartame and other strange ingredients that ppl have complained of side effects- i would suggest to steer clear of many of the packets and go for a large unsweetened lemonade or fruit punch bin of flavoring so you can make it yourself. please check ingredients for health reasons.
-> HOWEVER, drinks like olipop, simple truth organic, waterloo, and zevia all have flavored water/sparkling water/cola drinks that are aspartame free.
I highlighted things that i think are really important
Veggie dip: yogurt, seasoning spices (ranch seasoning is goated), and a tbsp or lemon or soysauc, all mixed and best used as a “veggie chip” dip, like baked cucumber chips
Literally any cake/protein bar: oats blended, protein powder, 1/2cup apple sauce OR mashed banana, some milk, and whatever toppings you like
Granola: oats, chia seeds, cut up fruit pieces, and maple syrup or honey for binding. mix in bag, bake on baking sheet on pan.
Hot n sour soup: you can use hot n sour packet or make veggie bouillon and add hot sauce, soy sauce, and tsp chili powder. Then (to whichever mix you’ve made) add egg mixing around, and then add extra firm tofu in little cubes. Let the soup mix well and set a little while cooling.
Nicecream: freeze banana. add banana, tbsp of milk, 2 tbsp of yogurt, tbsp of sweetener, and a fruit of choice (a tbsp of protein powder also will help). blend with blender and then let it sit for a minute- add whatever you want on top
my best “toast”: seasalt ricecake, spread 1tbsp vegan cream cheese, and then spread 1.5 tbsp of organic raspberry jelly.
