I’ve got a new product on my website! A few weeks ago was the Girl Scout Camp Timbercrest in Western New York for their Friends of Group’s Fall Work Weekend, and I designed the shirts for their event! With Friends of Timbercrest's permission, I’m putting the red eft design on my online shop, starting with organic cotton tote bags.
Any product sold with that red eft design will have 10% of its profits donated to the Friends of Timbercrest, who volunteer to make sure the camp is maintained for future girl scouts and campers to visit. Just at the Fall Work Weekend, the group updated the markers on many of the trails, stained the outside of the Dining Hall, created paddle and canoe racks for the boat house, and removed dead and dangerous trees. If you want to see more of what the group does, you can visit their website here.

Unlocking the Benefits of Wholesale Apparel
Wholesale apparel is a cost-effective way to keep up with the ever-changing trends in fashion and style. Buying in bulk allows retailers to get the best prices and offers the opportunity to purchase a wide variety of clothing items. In addition to the cost savings, there are many other benefits to buying apparel in bulk. This article will discuss the advantages of buying wholesale apparel, such as organic cotton tote bags and printed hoodies.
Advantages of Buying Wholesale Apparel
The advantages of buying wholesale apparel can be broken down into cost savings, variety of options, and sustainability.
Cost Savings
One of the main advantages of buying in bulk is the cost savings. By buying wholesale apparel in bulk, retailers are able to purchase items at a much lower cost per unit. This allows retailers to save money and pass those savings on to their customers. In addition, when buying wholesale apparel, retailers can take advantage of discounts and other incentives offered by the manufacturer. This allows them to further reduce their costs and provide competitive prices to their customers.
Variety of Options
When buying wholesale apparel, retailers have access to a variety of options. They can choose from a wide range of sizes, styles, materials, and colors. This allows them to offer their customers more choice and ensures they can meet the needs of all their customers.
Sustainability
Wholesale apparel is also a great way to be more sustainable. By buying items in bulk, retailers can reduce their packaging and shipping costs. This saves them money and helps to reduce waste. In addition, many suppliers now offer sustainable materials such as organic cotton and hemp. This allows retailers to stock eco-friendly items and meet the growing demand for sustainable fashion.
Types of Wholesale Apparel
When it comes to wholesale apparel, there are a wide range of items to choose from. Some of the most popular items include organic cotton tote bags, printed hoodies, t-shirts, and jeans.
Organic Cotton Tote Bags
Organic cotton tote bags are a great way for retailers to offer customers a stylish and sustainable alternative to plastic bags. These bags are made from organic cotton and are designed to be lightweight and durable. They are also available in a range of colors and styles, making them a great choice for retailers to offer their customers.
Printed Hoodies
Printed hoodies are a great way for retailers to offer customers a unique and stylish look. They are available in a range of styles and colors and can be printed with logos, images, or text. This allows retailers to customize the look of their hoodies and create a unique item that their customers will love.
Conclusion
Wholesale apparel is an excellent way for retailers to save money, offer their customers a wide range of options, and be more sustainable. By buying wholesale apparel such as organic cotton tote bags and printed hoodies, retailers can provide their customers with stylish and sustainable items at an affordable price. In addition, retailers can take advantage of discounts and incentives offered by the manufacturer to further reduce their costs. With the numerous benefits of buying wholesale apparel, it is easy to see why it is such a popular choice with retailers.

Hey! Bamboo toilet paper person here. Your response was very thoughtful-- I want to apologize for placing the onus of climate issues on individual action, haha. I work at a zoo that bills itself as being very heavy on conservation messaging, but as a non-partisan organization we're obviously not allowed to talk about the evils of capitalism. This means that in our programming, we MUST place the responsibility of stopping climate change on individual guests, encouraging them to make more environmentally conscientious decisions like buying reef safe sunscreen or reducing carbon emissions by driving less. The most "political" we're allowed to get is telling people to stay educated and vote in favor of laws that will have a positive impact on the environment. I think I've been drinking the Zoolaid a little TOO much recently, because you're totally right-- the vast, VAST majority of damage to the environment is caused by major corporations, not random people working around their own unique needs. It was also low key a little ableist of me to take issue with that ngl.
Obviously no obligation to respond to this publicly (though it's fine if you choose to do so), but I did want to thank you for your response and mention that it did get through the nonprofit mission-based-organization propaganda living rent free in my head haha. Cheers!
Hey, you work at a zoo? That is SO cool, aadsdggjjg@!!!
And hey, no worries, you totally had a good point about endless waste and trying to counter it where possible- Just from personal experience involved in the barest edge of the fashion industry, I really, really, REALLY hate the idea that, like... people can't access simple shit like plastic straws, even if they're the best, most practical, least-harmful option for them.... because a 12 year old made up some random number for a school project about plastic waste
Where, as a zoo person, I imagine you're already aware that the average sea turtle is WILDLY more likely to die from abandoned plastic fishing nets or ocean-dump grocery bags than accidentally get a straw inside it
So here we are, using paper straws!- which may be an improvement, or may not, I don't have that data, and construction emissions are their own thing- BUT WE STILL HAVE OCEANS FULL OF ABANDONED NETS
WHICH ARE OBJECTIVELY WORSE, but MUCH harder to get rid of, and as the average person doesn't USE fishing nets, it'd much harder to market as a "You, not me" sort of issue.
Cleaning up fishing nets isn't trendy. It isn't sexy. You can't troubleshoot a cute little trendy solution for it that you can market to upwardly-mobile tweens.
But a reusable water bottle? A cute canvas tote? A metal straw? That's a solution you can buy and feel good about.
Never mind that you need to use a single cotton reusable bag somewhere like a million times before the cost of its construction counterbalances the cost of a single grocery bag every time you shop- which, hey, some of us were reusing as trash liners for their wastebaskets, or bundle bags for donating clothes, or lining for our leaky winter boots!
If a better option is available, I'll take it. But as ZERO HARM is next to impossible at this time, I personally am gonna aim for MINIMAL HARM as long as I can.
...sorry, I didn't mean to ramble off again.
But hey, if your nonprofit is doing good things, feel free to shoot me a link! I can post it on my blog :D
(Link to original post for context lol)
#If a company can't sell you a solution then they won't touch the problem#Find a cute and affordable object you can sell to virtue-signalling consumers and MAYBE they'll talk#But just DOING something? The marketing optics better sell enough to justify the expense of THAT

I am not really an avid Purchaser of Objects but periodically I like to take stock of things I’ve bought that turned out to be excellent quality or worth investing in. here are my favorites:
thousandfell’s women’s lace-up sneakers. vegan leather and insanely comfy. took them as my only pair of shoes on a very walking-intensive trip to japan and south korea and ended up exclaiming aloud many times “god I can’t believe how comfy these are!!” they’ve lasted two full years of heavy wear and are still going strong.
the LL bean women’s mountain classic anorak. this is the only jacket I have ever needed in the PNW. it’s insanely lightweight so it’s perfect for brisk but not too cold days (and also amazing for travel as it folds down so small), BUT it’s also roomy enough that you can layer a sweatshirt under it and comfortably wear it outside in temps as low as 35 degrees. it also has SO MANY HUGE POCKETS which means I can carry everything I need for the dogs and the baby in just my jacket lol. like literally i can fit a bottle and diapers and wipes in it. I own it in two colors and wear it every single day.
able’s mamuye leather tote. I believe this was a rec from sasha? I had been searching high and low for a bag that looked professional for work but was still casual enough to use as an everyday or travel tote too. I wanted something simple, durable, and high quality enough that I could use it for a really long time. I splurged for the kind with a zipper and it was worth it! the one change is I wish it came with an organizer or had a bit more built-in structure. I got a cheap one off amazon which works fine and gives it a nice shape, but idk I might eventually buy the one they sell specifically for this bag. I love this bag so much that every time I see it I gasp inwardly at how beautiful it is and how fancy yet low-maintenance it looks. I think your favorite objects should be so beautiful to you they make your heart happy when you see them and this bag definitely qualifies.
karina dresses. the prints can be hit or miss and sell out pretty fast so you have to jump on the new collection releases when they email you. but almost every work dress I own is from this company and I love them so much. they’re super well made, flattering, and cut in a way that makes them very forgiving if your body (like mine) tends to fluctuate up and down in weight a lot. they are so forgiving that I didn’t have to buy any new maternity clothes for work—I just wore these through my whole pregnancy. the one thing that might not work for everyone: they’re made from a synthetic fabric, which means they never wrinkle and hang-dry very quickly, but also idk I do prefer the feel of cotton or linen or another more breathable natural fiber.
speaking of natural fibers: I also purchased a few skirts and a dress from pact (organic cotton basics) and I really like them so far but don’t yet know how they’ll hold up over time! so they get an honorary mention for now.
the thomasville tisdale sectional. this is the greatest couch ever made. I evangelize for it every opportunity I get. it’s so comfy and so gigantic. you can rearrange the modular pieces to form a very comfortable queen-sized bed if you don’t have a spare room or if you just want to have a really cozy movie night. I’ve had it for three years and it gets a lot of wear and tear with the dogs but it still looks and feels SO nice. plus it’s costco and their insane return policy means that if it falls apart in five years (it won’t) I could almost certainly still take it back and get a full refund. best! giant! couch! ever!!!!
ok that’s it lol everything else I own apart from art and quirky sentimental objects is kinda junk, or is just Fine but not worth writing home about. do you own high quality objects or clothing that you love recommending to other people? if so I want to hear about it.
#I am trying to get better at buying a nice thing once#instead of a crappy thing four times bc it disintegrates after 20 uses#this can be challenging bc sometimes something is expensive but STILL garbage#like my Hokas which were great for three months#and then like#started disintegrating#and now have huge holes in them#but I will wear them until I feel I’ve gotten my money’s worth goddammit

For health reasons i want to cleanse my body and fill it with only the healthiest foods, any must haves you swear by? Im not vegan and want to try it out! Cheers !
Eat only organic produce and wholefoods. There's an endless combination of fresh vegetables, legumes, and rice that can use to make delicious meals with, and just as many cuisines to draw influence from. Avoid GMOs like the plague. This will require making a habit of reading every single label. Takes a while to get used to but it's an easy skill to master. DO NOT buy fast food or takeaway from noxious establishments like McDonald's or KFC (and if you're in the States there's going to be hundreds of fast food chains you'll want to avoid). Avoid other chains like Starbucks for similar reasons, along with the obvious ethical reasons. These corporations do more harm to the environment (and the human body) than you would believe possible.
This is not an easy lifestyle, because the people in power do not want it to be easy for you, but it's perfectly achievable and it does get easier.
If you want to further break free from the shackles of modernity and the consumerist chain, you can do the following:
Source all your clothes from local thrift stores, goodwills, or hand-me-downs from friends or family.
Avoid buying any unnecessary plastics. If you're going shopping, bring reusable cotton produce bags. Refrain from using single-use plastic and instead opt to use canvas tote bags.
Pack your own lunches! This will reduce the impulse you'll get to buy from chains. It's all about the 7Ps. "Proper Planning and Preparation Prevents Piss Poor Performance".
Use power sparingly. The privatisation of power necessitates a constant rising of prices due to inflation and issues with production. Solar panels and candles are your friends.
Make friends with your physical media! We live in an age where ownership is going to become a crime. DO NOT abandon your favourite DVDs, video games, etc.
Obviously, there's a plethora of things you'll want to do to detoxify your life and there's degrees regarding what's achievable for any given person. Person A may not be able to afford solar panels, portable power generators and/or batteries, but Person B may be able to afford these luxuries but they simply don't have the space to employ them, whereas Person C may have children that require medical equipment, etc. It's a matter of doing the best you can, realistically, with your available resources and time. Put succinctly, just do the best you can.
I can work on a more comprehensive list for anyone that's interested.
