I don’t think like anyone reads my posts, but if you want rants, crack theories, analysis, or like opinions, just ask.
I’ve watched:
-jjk
-mha
-miraculous ladybug
-apothecary diaries
-Dr. Ramune (I feel like no one watched that. It’s only twelve episodes but it’s good)
-zombie land saga
-fairy tail
-saiki k
-tbhk
-psych
-white collar
-Grimm
-castle
-bungo stray dogs (not all of it though)
-Raven of the inner palace
-undead murder farce
-tomo-chan is a girl
-hell’s paradise
-Oresuki
-mashle
-I’m in love with the villainess
-monthly girls nozaki-kun
-horimiya
-master of killing time
-sasaki and miyano
-love is war
-mlp
-strawberry shortcake (2003-present)
-descendents
-ever after high
-monster high (first gen only)
-Voltron
-pretty much any Disney princess movie
While I haven’t seen one a full way through, I’ve seen multiple episodes of different harem animes and will be able to talk about tropes involved. I probably have watched other shows too, but those are like my high knowledge shows.
Also ask me to explain things more in any of my posts because it’s usually ramblings and I’m aware I can be confusing.

Tsubaki (or Chiharu Yoki) from Oresuki (or Ore wo Suki Nano wa Omae Dake ka yo). Her nickname means "camellia flower". She’s dedicated to her work at Cheerful Skewers and helping Joro, the watering can protagonist

I'm getting teary eyed about Oresuki again because I looked at discussions and the ending of the OVA had way more meaning than I thought... under the cut because spoiler.
When Joro uses the cliche phrase "The Moon is beautiful" to avoid saying I love you, I just thought it was part of the cliche... but it was more than that because it is literally from Pansy's favorite book, which she asked him to read, so there's the extra layer of care he put into picking those words specifically. It also reflects his character because he tends to hide behind a mask he presents towards others, and also to Pansy, who knows Joro's true nature. Aaaaaaaa

Well, since you mentioned your criteria for enjoying a story.....I'd recommend the animes: Oresuki: Are you the only one that really loves me?, Kaguya-sama: Love is war (romance anime parodies that Get It), Princess Tutu (Think Utena or Revue Starlight but with ballet and storybook themes), Madoka Magica, and the Monogatori series (inexplicably has a lot of Vibes in common with Umineko despite not actually having a lot in common)
(sorry for dumping all these recommendations on you)
wow that's kind of a list lol. thanks for the recs! i'll be sure to consider checking some of this out whenever i get the time!

Life Thing Update Words ETC!!!!
Ok the exclamation points are kind of a lie. I’m just excited for words in general and not necessarily for what the words mean.
I played in a pug (pick up game) in overwatch for the first time in years. Somethings have never changed though. Little to no rules, no one really plays too hard, I off role’d to help my team. Everyone was nice though and just played the game.
Been listening to a lot of Fall Out Boy recently and made one of my 10 song playlists for it.
Been also listening to a lot of Halsey lately (hopeless fountain kingdom).
Been having a lot of fun times with friends.
They both play Wrecking Ball and I just of just select the hero and roll around. I thought the picture best described how skillful we are at the hero. Also its titled “We are children of wrecking ball” which is also the new name of are group chat.
also my friend said this to me and I laughed extremely hard at it. I think I was talking about how he gets angry at the game sometimes and rage quits lol.
Worked 2 straight weeks for the first time since I got sick, hurt my shoulder, than got sick again. So lets go everyone loves money (I hate money actually).
I finished my rewatch of Toradora. Finished Tomo-chan Is A Girl, super good show. Saw Creed 3 awhile ago and never talked about it here, also really good. Gonna rewatch another romcom soon but I’m not sure if I want to rewatch My Little Monster or Your Lie In April (and cry). Could always go for a Lovely Complex rewatch. Our Love Has Always Been 10 centimeters Apart wasn’t too bad. Blue Spring Ride was good. Oresuki Are you the only one who loves me? was fucking hilarious. Wish that show got another season. Its sad that the last season of My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU was so fucking weird. The animators were like “nah this is the actual best girl” and forgot there was a storyline till like the very last episode. Shikimori’s Not Just A Cutie was good but its apart of the list of shows I’ve watched but didn’t finish but liked them. I can’t actually do a rewatch of Given because I’ve never finished Given because I get to episode 9 and rewatch it 25 times in a row till I pass out every time.
I don’t know. Life is a lot less sad lately. Been super busy. But I’ve been ok.
I going to get a cake at the end of the summer to celebrate 2 years of freedom.
I’m not sure what else I wanted to write about
I Am My Own Music
So Much (for) Stardust
Flu Game
Fake Out
Are probably my favorite songs off the new Fall Out Boy album.
Uhh.
Pizza good.
yeah.

The romantic comedy genre has a special place in Japanese anime and manga culture. Oresuki (Ore wo Suki Nano wa Omae Dake ka yo) is also a popular anime series inspired by this culture. Based on the light novel series written by Rakuda, the anime series was adapted into anime in 2019. The anime was animated by the studio Connect, which also animated another beloved romantic comedy anime Senryu Girl. Noriaki Akitaya is the director of the anime. Originally aired on many local networks such as Tokyo MX, GYT, GTV, BS11, TVA, and ytv, anime has also appeared on Funimation and Crunchyroll. Thanks to these big streaming services, it gained viewers all over the world. The anime was released as a single season between October 3, 2019 – December 26, 2019, and then an OVA episode was released in September 2020. However, there is no second season released yet, and fans are very keen on a second season.1 What is the plotline of Oresuki?2 Will there be a second season of Oresuki?2.1 Light novel status of the Oresuki in terms of a second season2.2 BluRay and DVD sales of the first season2.3 Popularity and the other key factors3 When is the second season of Oresuki? What is the plotline of Oresuki? The Picture: @Aniplex USA / YouTubeAmatsuyu Kisaragi is invited somewhere by the beauty of the upper-class Sakura Akino and his childhood friend Aoi Hinata. He goes wherever they want, thinking he will hear a confession of love from them. But Sakura and Hinata admit that they love their friend Amatsuya. Amatsuyu thinks no other girl can love him except them, but another girl likes him, Sumireko Sanshokuin. This girl with glasses and braided hair on both sides would not even cross Amatsuyu’s mind because Sumireko always causes trouble to Amatsuyu with her sharp tongue and takes great pleasure in doing this. But in fact, no one knows that the only person who has trouble with her sharp tongue is Amatsuyu. Will there be a second season of Oresuki? As of September 5, 2022, Studio Connect or any related company has yet to renew the anime for a second season. Anime sometimes take years to renew. Unlike regular TV dramas, mostly, the elapsed time does not reduce the possibilities for a new season. It is possible to see a new season, especially for an anime that has just been released in 2019. There is no official statement or rumor for a second season yet. However, there are some key factors that we can speculate about the second season. Let’s start with source material availability.Light novel status of the Oresuki in terms of a second seasonAs we mentioned at the beginning of our article, the light novel, the original of the series, was written by Raukda and illustrated by Buriki. Published by ASCII Media Works, the L/N began airing on February 10, 2016. There is no English-language publisher yet, but it looks like we can see it in the future because the light novel is very popular in Japan.17 volumes have been released for the light novel so far, and the 17th volume was published on January 8, 2022. Unfortunately, it was the final volume of the series and the series is completed. In the first season of Oresuki anime, only the first 5 volumes were adapted. This means that enough source material is available for a new season. There does not seem to be an obstacle for a new season in terms of the light novel. However, as the light novel series is no longer running, advertising work for the franchise will slow and the chances of an anime season will drop.29%LN adaptation rateBluRay and DVD sales of the first seasonAnimes are productions that are released to support light novels/mangas or directly to make a profit. Although disc sales may not seem as valuable as before with the increase of exclusive distributors in recent years, it is important to see the popularity in Japan. Generally, anime is expected to sell 4,000 copies before a new season is confirmed.Oresuki fell under the threshold in the first season of disc sales. A second season of the Oresuki, which sold 1015 copies in the first season, seems unlikely when only disc sales are considered. But we know that disc sales have decreased in recent years with the changing in watching habits. Availability of the exclusive distributors and viewership is more valuable now. Currently, anime is not available on major services like Netflix, Amazon, or Hulu. However, considering being distributed exclusively by a major video distributor in China, the anime might make a serious profit considering China’s population.Popularity and the other key factorsThe popularity of the anime in Japan and worldwide is also one of the main factors affecting the new season decisions. When we look at the anime’s general popularity on Myanimelist, we see it is ranked 476th. For an anime released in 2019, it can be considered average. Around 50k people currently follow the anime’s official Twitter account. Although this only shows the popularity in Japan, we can say that animes that can get a second season usually have more than 100k followers. When we look at worldwide popularity, it lags behind the most popular anime of recent years in Google searches. Considering that very few of the animes have been approved for the new season, we cannot say that we are very hopeful of renewal in terms of popularity. Still, it would not be wrong to say that the anime has above-average popularity and there is a chance for a second season. When is the second season of Oresuki?A second season of the Oresuki has not been confirmed yet. However, as a result of the above assessment, we see that there is still hope for a second season. Although the disc sales were not successful, the light novel still continues, and the anime is known worldwide. We think Connect will not say no to a second-season decision either. There is no official statement yet, but if a new season is approved, it is possible to see a second season of the anime late in 2023. But keep in mind that this is just speculation and quite unlikely. We will update our article as more official information becomes available. Stay tuned.

Oresuki and zombie land saga are popular enough to have a tag. However, I don’t think most people think about how much watching these will forever change every other anime. I haven’t been the same. I’m waiting for the truck every time a character goes across the street or leaves their house. I trust no one.
#Oresuki#zombie land saga#they changed my life#i’m never going to recover#every character is hit by a truck#no one is a friend#there is no trust#I don’t know who you are#but I’m not trusting you#i’m not stupid#we don’t have the budget for an ape

Oresuki s01 and OVA done
I chanced upon Oresuki by a random Blue Sky post recommending it along with some stuff I already watched.
I wasn't wowed by the first episode because Joro was not a likeable character and I prefer likeable protags. However, I'm glad I stuck through it to see what kind of person he actually was.
In essence, the series pokes fun at Harem anime. The MMC, Joro, wanting to be a romcom protag but actually being a scumbag with a heart of gold hiding behind a good guy persona. The FMC, Pansy, is a glasses girl character but it's a disguise as she is actually hot (tho if you ask me, her glasses form is better) and she's in love with Joro's true personality and actively stalks him.
Other characters follow generic tropes for Harem anime with a twist. The older girl who is prim and proper. Childhood friend. Best friend pseudo rival. Tsundere. The... reporter(?) A girl the protag inadvertently inspires/helps. Hyperactive underclassman. And so on.
The story breaks down and pokes fun at these tropes and the events that often lead to the romantic events, and the gags hit most of the time. The onlu times they missed for me was when I didn't recognize what they were referencing.
The running gaf with the bench has been consistently hilarious to me.
The story felt overly focused on the main cast's issues. That's not necessarily a negative, but I personally prefer the setting to be more fleshed out. You get that they're in a school, there's a library, there's tennis and baseball, and there's a rival school that only really comes to the fore near the end.
The conflicts and twists we get to see were pretty good and compelling. Episode 1 and 2 sets the stage of how this isn't your typical romcom. However, the story does fall into certain tropes in the middle. Like, they sort of stop poking fun of romcoms and just becomes a straightforward one.
I'm glad it only happens once but the threat of SA in an early episode by a primary character left me very uncomfortable I almost dropped it. Although there's also a boobgrab at some point too.
I'd say the main series was a fantastic watch barring the final episode because it was a cliffhanger. I got super mad until I saw the true finale was an OVA.
The OVA is a pretty amazing experience and a good finale. I cried twice near the very end!
The OVA has a lot of moving parts and it's basically a battle of wits and luck between the rival characters.
If you're familiar with Kaiji (which they reference hilariously in an episode) the formula is similar. There's a "simple" game and the players are mean't to bend the rules to get ahead. The final stretch of which got me at the edge of my seat and the conclusion made me bawl.
As for the romance. It's there I guess. The other things that serve the romance felt more important.
In conclusion, this gets a recommend from me IF you can watch the OVA cause that season finale pissed me off!
