Pitch #04
Characters/Ships: Agatha Christie/OC (Hercule Poirot)
BSD Universe: The Great War and how it went down in Europe, the political history of BSD, the structure of the Order of the Clock Tower
Summary: Agatha Christie is an agent in Britain's special forces division when the Great War breaks out. With her long-range ability, she excels at taking hostages and eliminating enemies. On the battlefield, she meets a Belgian agent who specializes in mind games and poisons, and develops a fascination with him- and he with her. Being madly in love makes the 27-year old Christie think she is invincible; until her lover is killed, along with more than half the soldiers under her command, in a deadly three-way battle. She vows to never let such harm come to her beloved country again, and thus begins her rise to power…

So the one order was held by the Order of the Clock Tower and they had their people delivering it on that plane. That the agency were planning to stop and take before Fyodor could get it.
But Fyodor poisoned and killed the crew and Tecchou sliced the whole thing to pieces. And got it via Fukuchi because Fukuchi’s working for Fyodor.
But the Order of the Clock Tower are also working for Fyodor so did he technically betray them by poisoning those plane guys or were they just cool with that?

I was reading that one post you made about Agatha and how she doesn’t really seem to be a good stand-alone antagonist and I was thinking if maybe that’s how The Remnants of The Guild will come back into play. Like Asagiri has mentioned authors that he wanted to put the manga among like Dante and stuff he mentioned Ernest Hemingway which considering BSDs themes about war and results of it it think he would be a perfect addition. I’d also include Plath in this but that’s more wishful thinking than anything allow considers BSD Steinbeck’s values in regards to family and some of Plath’s works featuring themes of such topics I think it could somewhat work. My money’s definitely more on Hemingway though.
If we're invoking the Guild, as an American-Brit, Raymond Chandler has delightful potential to be involved with both the Order and the Guild. He's also a detective writer, so he would be another mastermind character to fill the void of Dazai and Fyodor's cryptic chicanery. But he's Asagiri's favorite author, which is likely as much of a deterrent for him as a reason to do it.
I also hope Jane Austen makes an appearance. Irl!Natsume Soseki loved her and was greatly influenced by her, and I'd love to see Natsume more, especially set against his literary role model.

*Tentatively throws this out into the world* S-Some of my friend and I’s ideas for the Order of the Clock Tower👉👈 not very often do I make OCs for shows but there was too much potential. Maybe I’ll make fully fleshed out sheets for them; but for now— Arthur Conan Doyle, Ability: The Final Problem, works in just about the same was as Ranpo’s ‘Ultra Deduction’, just as an actual ability here. Also George Orwell (top left corner), Ability: 1984, basically works as a human security camera.

(I REALLY want a gothic Order of the Clock Tower arc) My character wishlist for the next arc of BSD:
Oscar Wilde — No brainer. I want the disturbing gay imagery from The Picture of Dorian Gray. Give it! *makes grabby hands*
The Brontë Sisters — Obvi. Wuthering Heights, Jane Eyre, The Tenant of Wildfell Hall. Let’s get WEIRD with Heathcliff imagery c’mon now.
Daphne du Maurier — PLZ PLZ PLZ. There are so many directions you could go with her ability. Personally, I want The Birds.
Robert Louis Stevenson — We HAVE to get an ability based on Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.
Percy Bysshe Shelley — We bring Mary and Adam back and have Percy and Mary insane couple energy. We should do Prometheus Unbound.
Jane Austen — I want her for a side arc where everybody is forced to overcome their relationship problems with her ability, Pride and Prejudice. I just think it would be funny.
Frenemies JRR Tolkien and CS Lewis — The real life authors once went to a party together dressed as polar bears. There’s so much there.

I do find it interesting how Agatha Christie in Bungou Stray Dogs is known as Dame Agatha Christie.
For those that don't know when someone is knighted by the ruling monarch in England they recieve a title with their name.
Men are referred to as Sir, for example Sir Patrick Stewart.
(And yes people are referred to as Sir despite not being knighted and yes it's confusing, welcome to England.)
Women are referred to as Dame. The real life Agatha Christie was infact knighted and given the title of Dame.
So this could simply be a reference to that. But I am curious about it given the close connection the Order of Clock Tower has with the British Monarchy.
As told to us in Stormbringer about how they are used to protect the Queen.
That kind of immunity and infamouy sets them apart from shadowy illegal organisations like the Guild and the Rats in the House of the Dead.
And makes them more like the Hunting Dogs. Which... I'm sure means they've got as fucked up a backstory as they do.
Nothing government sponsored ever goes well in Bsd.
I also wonder if Agatha was knighted after the Great War.
Given her real life counterpart was knighted and promoted to Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire.
Rather than for her literary work it would be for her fighting prowess.
Maybe, could just be a reference but the implications are fun to think about.

Thought that just occured to me: could Lvcraft have something to do with the Order of the Clock Tower
The Clock Tower possesses many powerful weapons that seem to mimic abilities (specifically talking about One Order w/it's mind control) and Lvcraft doesn't have/isn't an ability but it is rlly similar to one
Francis + Agatha were in cahoots at the start, and Lvcraft mentions a contract.
Another thought that just occured to me: Lvcraft + Chuuya/Verlaine and artificial abilities
Is Lvcraft another experiment similar to Chuuya/Verlaine?? Verlaine's arificial ability Vs Lvcraft's "that's not an ability". They both possess something that is possibly made/artificial that is an ability/strongly resembles an ability.
This falls in love with the first theory about the Clock Tower. I bet those Brits dabbled in studying abilities. While the French and Japanese went about mimicking a soul and tricking the ability and artificial abilities+singularities, whoever made Lvcraft just went "a non human can't have an ability? Fine then, it's not an ability"
Chuuya fighting Lvcraft, Lvcraft being related to Chuuya's story of government experimentation and artificial abilities... could be intesting
#chuuya bsd#order of the clock tower#lovecraft bsd#bungo stray dogs#bsd#verlaine bsd#i know chuuya is not a clone#but i am calling his current ability an artificial one since its not his original ability#just wanted to make that clear
