Thought id make a tumblr to share some of my writing, got back from a break in writing recently and made this for all the Davesprite x Rose enjoyers out there (Theres dozens of us!)

I just want to say something

Spoilers ig, although really it’s just a potential ship name for a character from DRS1 with a character introduced in the leaked Part 2 (plus another ship name that’s also a new character and an old character)

Arin and Frak as OrangeShipping. Arin wears orange, Frak is orange, therefore OrangeShipping.

Also, some people have been calling Wyldfyre x Roby “Robfyre”, but then someone said it should be FireworkShipping bcs fire from Wyldfyre but also fireworks bcs Roby and I wholeheartedly agree.

Fankidtober post #5: River Sketchit’s updated look!

I drew her once for Fankidtober 2021, and I honestly wasn’t really sold on her design—she looked too much like Misty, in my opinion. So I experimented with some of Misty’s in-game artwork, and found that her hair and eye color from Let’s Go was a nice fit! Now, while she still bears a resemblance to her mother, she isn’t too close of a carbon-copy! The outfit I’ll probably experiment on in the future, but I’m much happier with her design now!

I’m actually tempted to sketch out her brothers now—Caspian’s genetics and hair style are pretty solid, but I still need to fiddle around with Wade’s a bit more.

5. What's the first song that comes to mind when you think about them?

Aside from the song “Misty” by NateWantstoBattle, I love the song “Mermaid” by Train. I’d say it leans more towards Pokeshipping than Misty herself, but still.

14. Assign a fashion aesthetic to this character.

Ooh, this is fun! I actually have an entire Pinterest board with sections dedicated to each character and what their fashion choices/overall aesthetic would be, and Misty is definitely beach vibes all around. Blues, white linens, jean shorts, bikini tops, clothing with Water-type Pokémon printed on it, Converse, tees, tanks, and casual sundresses all scream “Misty” to me. I also imagine she has a lot of sporty one-pieces and athleisure clothing she wears when working out, training, or fulfilling her gym duties.

17. What's a ship for this character you don't hate but it's not your favorite that you're fine with?

I actually might be “cancelled” for this because of the so-called “age gap”, but I’m actually fine with Gymshipping (Brock/Misty). In most cases I don’t ship it romantically and prefer Misty and Brock as very close friends, but I actually prefer it to Orangeshipping, which I’m really not too fond of. But yeah, this is what currently comes to mind, as I love Egoshipping a lot alongside Pokeshipping and other Misty ships I’m kinda just “eh” on.

To commemorate the Pokémon anime ending, I have begin writing a video essay about the history of Pokémon fandom, specifically anime shipping! It will be a multipart series starting with the original series featuring Ash, Brock, Tracey, and Misty! I'm talking AAML/twerpshippy/pokeshipping, rocketshipping, gymshipping, orangeshipping, palletshipping, etc!

Unfortunately, my research can only take me so far, because a lot of the internet from back then isn't well preserved and it can be hard to read as I am unfamiliar with some of the terminology used at the time.

I am making this post in the hopes that people who were active online fandom members from back in 1996-2003 era will see this and respond! I hope to ask a few questions about commonly used terminology, as well as the atmosphere between different sections of the fandom at that time.

Wrote up a spanking new davesprite/rose fic, enjoy.

Summary: After an incident with Jade and her space powers Rose has found Davesprite shrunken down to the size of a tiny bird! Small and helpless Rose takes it upon herself to protect him and keep him safe much to Davesprite's embarrassment.

Fankidtober #6: Caspian and Wade Sketchit!

Caspian and Wade are River’s younger brothers. Caspian’s original concept had him as wanting to specialize in Fire-types, contrary to the Water-type specialty that runs in his family. I don’t really have a goal established for Wade just yet — maybe he’ll be a Research Fellow for Gary? Or a Pokémon School student? Decisions decisions 🤔

Also fun fact: Wade was another fankid I did for Fankidtober 2021, but like his older sister I was kinda meh on his design. Definitely a lot happier with him now!

Remember being a kid in the pokemon fandom and how everyone decided to not combine names but instead pick a word linked to the couple with shipping after it because chaos and every once in a while you'd see a new one like BROCKETSHIPPING and have no idea which characters but you'd go find a "GUIDE TO ALL THE POKEMON SHIPS" post so you could figure it out and then be horrified because the audacity and why did we make it so confusing for ourselves anyway good times
