Slow down for a moment. Allow your heart to guide you, to tell you if there is really a message here for you... And whatever the answer is, feel free to listen to it or to let go. Remembering that when you will be ready or will have the need, your true message will find its way to you.♡

This wait, this hope, this constant search for more in this situation and the grip of pain that your heart holds on you... It is doing much worse, it is hurting you much deeper, than they ever did. Than they or anyone ever could.
All because of the profound love for them, for you, for your hearts together. For your connection and your story. For what you were and what you could've been. All because of that love that simply doesn't want to accept this ending, doesn't want to ruin the memory of that fairytale with the reality of it all.
Convinced that if you do accept it, surrender to this cruel and not at all magical end... It will invalidate everything that you felt. Transforming that deep and sweetly overwhelming love... In just delusion, another mistake, another wound on your tired heart. Another lie. Another fantasy and its destruction.
Another you that is too naive, too romantic, just too good. Who stayed allowing yet another person to betray and hurt you. A person that, no matter what happened and all this pain, you still remember so tenderly. Incapable of seeing them as someone that could've done for you so little, or perhaps, that done to you so much.
But it doesn't need to be black or white, only one thing or another. It doesn't need to be a perfect story from the start to end to be worth it. Because there isn't a perfect one. The ups and downs, the realizations, mistakes and learning, lies and truths, are exactly what make a story worth to be lived and listened to. Worth to be remembered and carried in our hearts.
You don't need to be only a hopeful or a cautious person. They don't need to be a dreamy lover or a villain in disguise. Your story, your moments, don't need to be only sweet and tender or false and cruel... They can be both. They can be sour and sweet at the same time. They can be heart wrenching but still right.
The same way you can cherish the connection you've shared and love them, while still accepting this ending. Letting it go and recognising that it's moment to stop.
Because not everything that is beautiful, good, and so deep, needs to exist forever. And perhaps it's what it gives more worth, and allows us to cherish it. Truly. In the memories of what we lost, but that we still had a chance to love.

What you are holding onto.. is very different from what you tell yourself in your mind. It's different from them, from your story, from the moments that you've created and shared before ending it all... No matter how sweet, tender, warm it all were...
What you are holding onto is something that never happened, but that could've been real if only you had more time together. If only one of you tried more, if only one of you listened more, hoped more, waited more...
You are holding onto what could've been. Unable to let go of the person that felt so vivid, that made you feel so deeply, because they were the last one that your heart had the courage to connect with. And deep down you fear that it was not only the last person, but also the last chance, the last forces and faith that you've had in finding the right one.
But it's okay to let go of them. It is safe for you to let this connection end, for your heart too. It is safe, right, for you to surrender and let this love fade. Because you will never be so lonely as you will be while waiting for them to change their mind. You will never be as hurt as when your gaze meets only their fading foot prints, while they keep walking away without turning back. It will never be worse, than what you feel now as you put yourself in a cage, convincing you on your own that this is all that there is and will be for your heart.
It is scary, it is tiring, to start all over again. Without knowing if you will have at all a chance to create something new, if you will have the strength to let someone new into your life. But in this worry there will be also excitement. In that uncomfortable fear and uncertain steps, there will also be so many beginnings, new experiences, new feelings. That you will let in as soon as you will realize that only because it was so strong, so overwhelming, so important... It is not the only option and way to find love. To experience love. Not the only person to be loved by, not the only way to be treated and cherished. Not the only right chance and way for your heart to tremble so sweetly, making you feel alive again.

Will it be worth it or not... Will depend only on you. But not in how it will end, what else can be done or what you can come up with to make them have a change of heart... The worth of it all will depend only and truly on what you will learn, what you will choose to understand and remember from this, keeping it from now forward in your heart as you walk through this life.
It will depend on how you will choose to see yourself, the narrative that you will tell about what happened and how you lived and felt it. It will depend on if you will once again conclude that you were not worthy or good enough, that you needed or need to do more, to give more, to convince more...
Overlooking this time too, how much you already gave of yourself, the work you've done, the readiness and courage of your heart that kept fighting and hoping. And that even now, overwhelmed with this love that doesn't seem to vanish, still looks for a reason that can excuse them, their decisions and how they treated your soul.
Because at the end of it all... You are not waiting for them to come back because of them, of their love, of their heart... But you are waiting for your own self and what them returning would mean, would demonstrate, about your worth to your own heart and mind.
But you don't need them, or anyone else to be worthy. You don't need to be chosen by them to demonstrate it and make it true. You can do it only by yourself. By what you think about your own self. The worth that you give to your own self and the parts of you that you are ready to change and sacrifice for others again and again.
Let them go. It's all ended now. There is nothing more that you can or should do. Because you already did so much. And the fact that it is still not right, not enough for them, is not your responsibity. It doesn't say a thing about you but says a lot about them, and perhaps their wounded, confused and tired hearts and minds.
They know their worth, they know what is best for them, they choose it even if it hurts others prioritizing themselves. And so you too can. Your worth, your deserviness, your love, is not categorised and determined by others and how much they choose you above someone else, including themselves.
It is only determined by how much you understand that someone is not right for you, for one reason or another, letting them go. Instead of trying to change it and make them stay, to hold together the story you chose to tell yourself now about you and your connection with them. It is not determined by how much you hold onto them or someone on you... But only on how much you hold onto yourself.

Delphine was Barbara's idea.

Stranger Odessey - Heros
Stranger Things - ancient greek mythology au
Steve - Stephanos
Through a series of unfortunate events, including but not limited to: love, loss, a heroic death, more chaos thanks to a drunk Zeus ANYWHERE near Tartarus and finally the mercy of two kind gods. Stephanos finds himself in the position of a champion, a Hero under Hades to be more specific.
His main quest? Find lost souls and help them into the underworld, by giving them a proper burial or the necessary money to fair the river styx. Also: "bring back" some of the escapee monsters from Tartarus, for which he has been given a special sword, that absorbs the essence and souls of said monsters and beasts to store and return to Tartarus.
Robin - Rhoda
Coming from a small mountainside village in the proximity of a temple of Zeus, Rhoda's life was always one of property. One day she has had enough and just run off. Quickly she found other women with similar views and learned their craft fast. From then on, she was a part of the sisterhood of the Daughters of Artemis. But she was destined for more than rituals, hunts and a live devotion.
Her main quest? Due to a lost bet between gods, her patron had an open tab.. So she has to find Anteros and escort her to the Temple, so Artemis can finally get her magical quiver back! But gods dam, that kid is nothing but trouble!!
Chrissy - Chryssa
Chryssa grew up well loved by her family, friends and small town. Her wit, bravery and smarts always help her out in life and so caught the eye of a certain goddess... And after her dream of a life caved in, shattering. The comfort she sought, crying in a temple of Athena; she was heard. And she was taught by the goddess of wisdom and battle strategy herself.
Her main quest? There was word amongst the gods about a new born clairvoyant with the power to become the next oracle. But she has to find a way to the temple of Delphine first. So Chryssa was sent to guard and escort her, in safety. But who knew it was going to be this difficult??

Harry Potter, Lavender love interest? (because canon did her dirty!!)
Oh you're so right about this anon, you have no idea. Meet...
Pythia Trelawney!
Daughter of Sybil Trelawney
A year older than The Golden Trio
Her second name is Delphine. Yeah, she takes all her name from the oracle. What can I say, Sybil is a little bit obsessed with the Seer Family thing lol
Has prophetic dreams (kind of... she sees possible futures... idk think about Garnet from SU but less powerful and can't be controlled lmao)
Little Miss Play Dumb But Actually Knows Too Much
Likes that people underestimate her. It hits harder when they find out she's actually smarter than them lol
Basically friendly crystal baby with hippie style but also straight A student and a bookworm
Met Luna for the first time and decided that she would die for her (they're total besties)
Got closer and closer to Lavender also thanks to her mother ngl

*I AM NO CHEAP THIEF / IT'S THE WORLD OR NOTHING AT ALL.
*NAME: Delphine Baudelaire. *TITLE: The Oracle. *AGE: 29. *PINTEREST: here
»» the flourish of hands married to the drama of words; action as distraction so the discretion of your thievery can commence; the shadows on the wall, shapes created only in others' illumination, shifting with the faintest breath; a deck of cards as both shield and spectacle; a tightrope fraying at both ends; delusive creation as an act not just of godhood, but girlhood — something known in the very fibers of your being.
BASICS, HISTORY, SECRETS & WANTED CONNECTIONS UNDER THE CUT !!
*BASICS.
BIRTH NAME: Delphine Baudelaire NICKNAMES: Delphi TITLE: The Oracle AGE: 29 D.O.B.: tbd (i'm feeling gemini or sag energy for this one <3) BIRTHPLACE:  Tomasina, Madagascar LANGUAGES SPOKEN: French (native), Malagasy (native), English ORIENTATION: Bisexual biromantic RELATIONSHIP STATUS: single ?? (possibly has some fwbs, see history below) CHILDREN: none POSITIVE TRAITS: alluring, witty, adaptable NEUTRAL TRAITS: flirtatious, inventive, coy NEGATIVE TRAITS: delusive, dishonest, mercurial INSP: Holly Golightly, Selina Kyle / Catwoman, Anna Karenina, Margaery Tyrell
*TLDR. (APP + SOME EXTRA DETAILS)
We are so glad to see you safe, FORTUNE-TELLER (SPY FOR MADAGASCAR) DELPHINE BAUDELAIRE of FRANCE! It’s dangerous out in the world these days, but I hear that you are ALLURING and COY enough to handle it. Just don’t let your MERCURIAL NATURE bring you down! Stay on your guard, because with your secret being at risk for exposure, you wouldn’t want everyone to find out THAT YOUR LOYALTIES HAVE BEGUN TO SHIFT FROM THE COUNTRY EMPLOYING YOU TO THE COUNTRY ON WHICH YOU SPY. For Delphine, time has been rendered thick with the hauntings of her past. Born in Madagascar to a poor, criminally-inclined family, she learned quickly to steal in order to survive, and to charm as a means of disarm. As punishment for her and her father's treasonous acts at the start of Madagascar's solidification as a standalone nation, she acts as a spy on the French, with her cover being half-socialite, half-court entertainer. Now, with political revolution spilling over the hallowed halls Delphine has grown accustomed to, she contends with the promise and purpose for something greater than herself, the temptation of her nature, and the hauntings of her past.
*HISTORY.
[ trigger warnings for: mentions/descriptions of blood, war, implications of sex work, more tbd ]
I. EMBER IN THE ASH
»» Delphine's childhood was littered not with toys and pretty things, but stoney streets lined with more bloodshed than blossoms, soldiers fighting over territory disputes as the country itself clamored for independence. Her family was not made of fighters but of thieves. She quickly followed suit, roaming the reddened streets to pick the pockets of the fallen for any trinket to pawn, unbothered by the sights or sounds of the dying.
»» Once too young to know the difference between polish and peril, Delphine used the shell casing of a musket as a hard candy. A gnawing pain in the mouth of a two-year old brought her mother's attention to the hollowed-out bullet between the young Delphine's gums. But, before taking it out, her mother first brandished the moment to her father, a chorus of look at your daughter less a call for reprimand and more an affectionate coo — all for putting a killing thing in her young little mouth.
II. BEAUTY & BETRAYAL.
»» It wasn't the metal that poisoned her, but the so-called love she was weaned on, love which taught little of the closeness of kin in exchange for all manner of thievery, conning, and swindling. Beyond just the apple of her father’s eye, she was fruit bowl and orchard to him — a perfect creature whose particular talents were rarely seen, to set upon the masses in a firestorm of charisma and chaos, blinding the world with her unquestionable beauty.
»» However, he bet on the wrong grand scheme, believing that his wife's homeland could never separate from the 'greater' nation of France. The betrayal of secrets slipped from Delphine's mouth to the ears of a war-hungry general of a neighboring tribe — only for both the general and her father to be put to death for treason, once the nation formalized.
III. GAME, SET, MATCH.
»» Delphine, only nineteen, found her fate left in the hands of a country eager to cement its standing. They saw promise in her, but rejected the leniency of a pardon, too fearful of the girl to grow into her father's shadow, and too wary of the ease in treating the chaotic birth of a nation as ladder rungs upon which to ascend. What better use for a girl whose talents lay in dishonesty and charm than to set her on the world at large?
»» A bag, a few memories, and the crumbs of her birthplace were the only things she carried with her on the journey to the nation on which she was tasked to spy, her mother left in the clutches of Madagascar's government as collateral. It was her father's native country, but it bore no similarities to the man she knew — where he was shadowy but strong, France was a weakened country clinging to the notion of its more glorious past.
»» To the French court, Delphine presented herself as both refugee and gift, escaping the fray as the new country solidified itself, with a talent for supposed divination. To the court, she was no great threat: less a girl who knew the nature of their newfound enemy, and more a pretty young thing they could use to entertain the court from time to time — a distraction.
»» Their attention, however, was grasped entirely when she 'predicted' the location and outcome of a battle, one which supposedly gained France a different African ally. The truth of the matter rested in Madagascar's own carefully planned instructions, sewing seeds of certain belief for the French while Madagascar went on to harvest. A long game, to be sure, but one which garnered secret strides while France was none the wiser.
IV. SHIFTING TIDES.
»» Nearly ten years into her employ, Delphine has become a bourgeoning young socialite, a favorite in the court if only for her entertaining charm and talents as a so-called oracle. Privately, a few nobles have taken to indulging her mercurial fancies in exchange for a nights sharing a warm bed and the divined assurances of their success. The woman enjoys the life to be certain, but still finds herself practicing her old thieving ways from time to time, playing with fire less for excitement, but more so as a means of keeping her core warm.
»» It is not for those reasons, however, that her loyalties have begun to shift. Instead, as a means of gathering information on all facets of the French people, Delphine has taken to associating with more of the common folk, finding in them a certain kinship that simply doesn't exist amidst the lacquered halls and gilded glory of the upper-crust. With a political revolution tinting the rosiness of France in shades of democracy, Delphine has found herself utterly captivated by what seems to be a purpose greater than herself — but the temptation of her nature still lingers, and the hauntings of her past may loom too heavily to ever truly escape.
*WANTED CONNECTIONS.
my brain hurts but i'll add these soon i promise <33 hmu in the meantime pls!!!

What are the most underrated and most overrated Barbie movies in your opinion?
I have a couple:
Princess and the Pauper but because it's the one nobody shuts up about (myself included!!) I hate that others will shame you if you don't personally vibe with it or god forbid like Popstar more. Look I agree it's absolutely wonderful but it's not the only good Barbie movie out there. I love it to death but I wish more people would talk more about some of the other classic movies for once. And on top of that I wish the endless comparisons to it, no matter if the stories are similar or not, would stop. It's one of the best in my opinion but we don't need to compare it to every other movie.
Mermaidia somewhat because I think people mostly just like it for Nori and the fact that it's the first mermaid movie. I think there are better mermaid movies from Barbie (Mermaid Tale & its sequel especially) and I just don't like how they handled Delphine at all. I just find it a bit annoying that the writers had them seek out an oracle, have her tell them to screw off even with mass murder on the line and go seek out this random mirror that can tell them the exact same thing she already knows. I mean, it's not all bad - the only way to turn Elina into a mermaid for the movie was to have someone basically force it onto her. Like she said, she JUST got her wings she's wanted forever, so to keep in character you'd have to make it life-or-death for her to exchange them. But overall the Delphine-to-mirror part wastes a lot of runtime when all that great adventure and danger and character development could've still happened without them having to chase two separate omnipotent beings.
Fairy Secret - I've done a few posts on it already. I just really don't like that Gloss Angeles is such a frankly horrifying place but is presented as somewhere you'd want to go. I also don't like that Ken's situation is played for laughs or the fact that Crystal gets off so easily after what she did. And like several other mean characters in Barbie movies, people tend to ignore Raquelle's actual development and the arc she and Barbie go through and just minimize her character to "hot mean girl". (Also btw their arc gets wiped away anyway and waved off as a "weird dream" that they decide just to go with which I hate). She and Barbie are not rivals-to-lovers. They are bully-and-victim-to-friends. They are starting over at the very end of the film.
