Monster Manual 1 List
While D&D isn’t as good as it used to be, most of the monsters are still iconic.
Here is a list of all monsters and how often they appeared in the MONSTER MANUAL 1 (Only the first Monster Manual of an edition counts) of every edition.
Monsters that are put into Monster Manual 1 are the lovechilds of a generation, they are the first to appear in the books and so the most loved by the DEV’s and often also by the fans.
I included only the ones I really love, I left out monsters I don’t care for such as Hippogriff, Hill Giants and some others, but most important monsters are present.

Hi there,
I'm writing from BBC Studios, we are making a paranormal documentary series for BBC Two called Uncanny and we are looking at the Shadow Man figure in different clutures.
We are intersted in showing the image you have of The Fear Dorcha on your page, do you know who might own the copyright to this?
It would be great if you could drop me an email at [email protected].
Thanks so much,
Amy
Hello,
I think it said Michels 2007? But I'm not sure, it isn't a Fear Dorcha or Shadow Folk artwork, it's probably from another video game character. As the artwork is pretty old, I'm not sure where to find the original artwork. Sorry

The "new" Pathfinder
Words cannot describe how much I hate this new(ish) pathfinder Monster Core book.
I used to love Pathfinder/Paizo to death, but now it's just pathetic.
Removing Golems out for cultural reasons, but keeping Dybbuk (who is also from Jewish folklore/myths) in? Who makes up these random rules?
Removing ALL non European mythological monsters (such as Wendigo) and only keeping a few from Hindu (Naga and Rakshasa) is just stupid.
Removing all D&D monsters makes sense maybe and the changes in Basilisk and Barghest are good, but then they cut a lot of interesting monsters from the game but keep Pegasus + Griffon + Hippogriff around, three monsters that have the same use and aren't interesting at all...
This James guy (boss of paizo) always had a hard-on for Lovecraft, but since Lovecraft is some sort of racist, he cut all the lovecraft monsters and replaced them with his own boring imaginations which look like 2ndary lovecraft bores. The "new" devils, angels, demons and stuff are horrible choices, the worst made up demons of all times, they can never replace the awesome D&D demons and devils.
Removing all the foreign mythology but keeping the name heaven and hell, tells me you don't respect Christian players at all, not that I like religion, but if you please one side of the coin, why still harm the other, in my opinion you should just keep using everything, spare for holy gods and symbols maybe, but monsters should be used freely, if cultures don't want their monsters to be used in other media, don't share their stories.
Also all these cute-monsters, why? To please a few two-ponytailed girls that play the girl?
Again, I used to really live towards the release of yet another paizo bestiary, but lately they seem to want to please the woke-side of their fanbase more than to release actually good products...
Minotaurs being reduced to a boring race is also bad, and forced art for male Harpies and Medusa's is just sad, especially they are there to just make a statement.
I do like the new Hags though, one of the only good things in the book.

I understand why you don't like hippogriffs, standard mermaids, standard dragons, elves, dwarfs, and hupia, but what's the deal with you disliking jiangshi, sasquatches, and huldra?
Sasquatches are also boring to me, there are too much species and they are just hairy humans.
I’m getting tired of people asking mythology-channels on youtube about the Jiangshi and Huldra, suddenly everyone knows and craves for these (in my eyes) boring mythological creatures.

Funny
It is funny to me how the most boring mythological/folkloric monsters are often people's fan-favorites and also the ones people ask the most after.
I will never use and never care for:
Mermaids / Hippogriff / Jiangshi / Huldra / Standard Dragons / Standard Unicorns
Meh, meh and meh.

D&D HOrror
So my least favorite human on this planet (Musk) is going to buy (at least he said he will) over D&D to make it "great"' again.
I'm actually not against the thought, I hated this new version of D&D as much as I hated Musk himself, so he can actually save the woke mess that is D&D (after 2015 or so) has become.
Finally awesome monster manuals again, and not this anti golem, orc, drow, beautiful-female-monsters, djinn, wendigo parades, back with PURE evil monsters, not every creature needs a reason to be evil.
If not, I hope they drown each other out. D&D was dead to me anyway, it can only get better, and if it gets worse, at least the torture is over.

May I request a post wherein you go over the bosses of Mythika, when and where you battle them, and their role in the setting?
I'm working on an entire new world of Mythika, I'm playing a lot of Shin Megami Tensei games lately, and it really inspiring me to create my own world like that, not 100% the same of course, but some monsters and battle systems from that game are really awesome!
So more on bosses and stuff like that later, but expect Horsemen of the Apocalypse, Sin Lords (like Narcissus, Lilith and Alastor) the witch queen Baba Yaga, Jack Frost, Jack-in-Irons, Jack the Ripper, Medusa, Hundred-Handed Ones and many more to be bosses in the proposal game (it will never be a real game though, don't have the finances to do so or the skills)

If you are using AI art to create your own art assets now, does this mean that you can edit certain beings that you dislike to be more to your liking? Like making dwarfs more maggot-like or making Nephilim closer to so-called "Biblically-accurate" angels?
Yes, while AI sometimes creates my perfect vision of a creature (by accident), mostly it gives wrong pictures and it takes a while to get it right, but it is a very fun progress and always exciting what you get out of it.
It cannot create chimera-like creatures though, and snakes look strange, also it cannot create ghostly fire, manta rays, and some other animals it doesn't recognize, but otherwise it is just fun and sometimes handy to show people the creatures I have in mind.
I don't understand this hate AI is getting, artists still get jobs, and mobile phones, Youtube, Internet, and all those apps on your phone take away far more important phycial jobs, also artists are expensive for me, impossible to get my dreams on paper, not that AI will get the perfect pictures on, but it sometimes comes close, sometimes the random pictures (with too much fingers or limbs) even give me inspiration I didn't have before. It suddenly gave me the perfect Katsura-Okoto picture for example!

Imp Family
These are all the Imp-like familiar demons from Mythika.

The normal Imp is a true bookwurm, it controls the ink from the pages to create living ink elementals, and absorbs spells from the pages of magic tomes. It gives their magic-using masters stronger magical abilities, but it also uses them to corrupt their soul and turn them hostile and evil. Evil Warlocks love their Imp familiars as well, but Imps mostly search for gentle magic-users to corrupt.

The Vetala is a green-skinned Imp, somewhat bigger than the imp itself it is still only the size of a toddler. Vetala can enter corpses and animate them, not only humanoid corpses, they can also enter the corpses of dragons, dinosaurs and giants, while they can't use the abilities of these corpses, they can use their physical powers of strength, speed and athletics. They are the ultimate familiar of Necromancers.

Gremlins are small blue imps that are prized as familiars by warlords and war mages, they use these sneaky mischievous imps to destroy and corrupt the warmachines and buildings of their enemies. Gremlins love destruction and sabotage buildings to create dangerous traps for their humanoid residents, they also love to toy with vehicles like chariots. Their annoying laughter can be heard from miles away and they are addicted to metallic objects, their metallic treasures are hidden away in a secret room, but they also adore their bodies with the ugly metal objects.

The Incubus, also known as Succubus, Alp, Nightmare or Mara, they are often found as Familiars of Nocnitsa and they enjoy the company of Pesanta Hounds. Incubus terrorize sleeping creatures by invading and haunting their dreams, even having intercourse in the dream will result in the female victims getting pregnant with a Cambion (Sin Child), there are 7 types of Cambions one for each sin. Incubi also corrupt other creatures during their dream visits turning them sinfun while they are awake, they take the form of a beautiful female or male creature in the dreamrealm so they can corrupt more souls. They are Black Imps and are as big as 4 year old child.

Asag are the largest of the imps, they rarely serve a master and have rocky grey skin. Their magic over rock is legendary and they can animate rocks by touching them, their ugly evil vision is sometimes enough to kill a victim with a stare. They are the size of a 10 year old child.

The different dresses of the Leanan Sidhe
Leanan Sidhe in Mythika are these evil vampiric (not undead though) muses, corupted by evil they corrupt the souls of artists (I think they also invented AI to toy with the feelings of real artists), and collect their blood and souls by giving them more inspiration. Here are some bizarre dresses ai came up with. AIgain, ignore the multiple limbs lol, I know real artists make it better, but they never create this kind of stuff, they are too buzzy with their mermaid may month art and dragons for august... zzzz

MYTHIKA's HOUSE SPIRITS
All the house spirits in these AI pictures are too large, but for some reason they won't give them the proper size, but these creatures are the size of a human child, also ignore the limbs, they probably have 2 more toes, only one feet and so on, but that is AI for you lol, these are just good indications on how they look a bit in Mythika.
Blue = Domovoi, it is the standard house spirit and protects the home, unlike the kind Brownie it will ask for offerings, if not given it turns hostile and violent.
Red = Ovinnik, hostile red house spirit, it looks kinda demonic and cat-like in the face, it starts fires, small at first, but when it is bored with the house it will burn it to the ground if it isn't removed by force. They also are said to bring bad luck to the house as long as they are there.
Yellow = Bannik, strange yellow haired house spirit, it mostly resides in bathhouses and emerges from the water in lakes, wells and even from the water used in houses, it is tricky, sometimes it helps but mostly it just plays with the feelings and flesh (burning it with hot water) of it's playthings.
Green = Leshy, while they are of the house spirit family, and look pretty much like them, they are residing in the forest around the houses and are more often found in and around cabins in the woods, they are tricksters and love playing tricks, they also protect the forests and the cabins they choose to protect against any interloper, sometimes even being hostile to the residents visitors. The worst thing a Leshy can do is turn you into a plant.
Grey = Bodach, these evil house spirits are also half bogeymen, they first scare the younger residents of a home with scary nightly visits from the chimney, then after they get bored with their prey they will eventually kidnap them and feast on their flesh by turning it slowly into ash. These are even more hostile than the Ovinnik.
Pink = Albastor, these pink haired and skinned House Spirits are full of lust, they travel in the form of falling stars and mostly appear in bath houses and around inns to kidnap beautiful creatures for their sick amusement.
Brown = Brownie, the most kind of the House Spirits, they help the residents with all tasks in the house and protect it against all evil and other house spirits, fights between Brownies and Domovoi are legendary!
