The urge to give modern au Hiccup the name Håkon and have Hiccup be a nickname but also it's so fucking funny to me when modern aus have his full legal name be 'Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III' in the 21st century.

You ever think about Shaun and Danse interacting and cry a lil bit

#theodoor (renamed synth shaun) struggles w/ being a copy of a contentious evil man #and being used as bait #and being taken in by that mans father as a pity child. not what was wanted but there anyway #and feels urges to act a certain way even after gus gets his ideal programming outta there #and resents basically everything and everyone involved in his existence #because he isnt just a lure. hes a doll. hes a toy made by a cruel and heartless man. made to be exactly like him #and every time he feels any negative emotion he feels like Shaun won and got his clone #every time he feels positive emotion he feels like a puppet carrying out Shauns wishes to be the ideal child #and DANSE eventually comes to terms with his nature/himself in general and gets better. and as he slowly starts entering a relationship #with gus he starts noticing /hey this kid is going through something similar/#/i suffered this but at least i was free to do as i wanted. teddy is a child & hes meant to be a specific child that he cannot possibly be/#and danse notices that teddy is squeamish around science because he wants to distance himself from shaun #so he takes him under his wing. /you wanna see how a laser works?/ and gets him to see that science is not a force of evil #but a tool to be used. Shaun used it for his ego but Danse uses it to protect the others. Isa uses it to heal the wasteland.#Curie uses science to save people and heal their pain. he shows him /you know better. so you wont become him. you literally couldn’t./#like. teddy has a lot of issues being put on the spot to be the missing boy come home. but not being that boy #and danse gets it. he had issues after building his existence on being a paladin and model soldier only to be the Enemy #he gets trying so hard and wanting so bad to be one thing or fully the other. not be in that awful middle ground where its all confusing #and danse figures out over time that the Institute made m797 but he - his choices and his experience - made Danse #and its the same for teddy. and the kid gets along better having someone who can closest understand what he feels #ss; alter #bc teddy is gus' kid so he goes in the tag

It does still boggle my mind that they undid Ein and Aphmau being siblings in mystreet with an SMP video (something entirely not related to mystreet???) to do weird shipbait for a ship I’m pretty sure a majority of the fandom dislikes when they could do romantic rival stuff for Aphmau with. Literally any other character. Like Zane. Which they already do. And that Ein and aphmaus dynamic in SMP videos is way better (and tends to be more funny) when they ARENT doing shipbait like. How do you fuck up a dynamic by trying to make it “less weird” by just making it more boring and one note

on a more serious note i do genuinely think at worst s2 good omens directly ripped off supernatural and at best supernatural set a standard for an entire genre of TV related both generally to a post-Earth afterlife and specifically to the christian bodies of heaven and hell. it's fascinating to watch shows like Good Omens, Lucifer, Miracle Workers, The Good Place all try to follow in Supernatural's footsteps and do what it did without ever attempting to harness the central tenet of the 15-year-long saga which is: none of it is on purpose. the show is about humans and organically, accidentally, contrary to the very explicit beliefs and aims of the showrunners, the story becomes about the very nature of the universe. it's not about angels in gray suits.

also i don't think that the british have anything very interesting to say, at this juncture, about human nature and the potential limits of christian mythology and infrastructure

#also good omens was clearly produced very quickly with a shit budget and exploited labor like the costuming was very weak #hair/makeup even more so #and the cgi idk we all know cgi is shit these days #like the true giant of this genre is Buffy who same thing #a show NOT about the afterlife in any way until they just kept stumbling forward so much for so long that they killed Buffy #and had to bring her back and from there they just kept going #the only other thing i can think of rn is beetlejuice which like doesnt really touch on heaven at all and i think even hell is like renamed #idk why i feel so strongly about this maybe i truly am just a hater #but i think that the great fascinating flaw of supernatural is that it stops just short of saying 'actually the reason all this heaven and #hell stuff doesnt hold up is because the true meaning of the universe is humanity'#and instead of taking that central unnamed idea and running with it alternate media are like.#'you know what yeah Uriel sounds like a black name' like come on #mio.txt #spn #good omens

i hope whoever updates the poseplayer can make it not a nightmare to navigate. imagine if you could sort by creator... or search...

#i rename every posepack i download to have the creator's name first in the title so they all show up together...#but part of the reason i find posing to be annoying is how irritating poseplayer is to use #having to scroll for mad long then previewing a pack but its not what you want so you have to scroll all the way down again #omfg just did math and i have 500 poses....#and i'll still be in game and not have what i need 😭#anywho #i played fallout 4 for almost 15 hours straight yesterday #gonna go play some more bye!#court rambles

im so sad they wrote joanna out of the show. and then they never let laurel have any friends of her own again T_T

#arrow lb #like. she gets team arrow later on. but she doesn't really get her OWN friends. which is really weird and sad and isolating.#don't they do that to dig too #now that i think about it. like i think i remember him and carly having a thing and then breaking up. and he never gets his own supporting #cast member again.#honestly i think thats part of what my problem was with late-seasons arrow.#it feels weirdly. empty? because everyone is either like. a part of the main crew or a random extra.#they dont have many minor recurring characters to fill out the world.#like i fully believe season 1 thea has friends. even if we don't see them often.#maybe not super close 'confess all your deepest feelings' type friends. but still.#whereas like. by season 4. i'm 100% sure thea does not have any friends that we aren't shown explicitly on screen #and even when they give someone a minor recurring character. like curtis' husband.#they always get rid of them in the end. or incorporate them into the main cast.#like. in arrow you are either a main character or you don't really exist.#which works for a show like spn. because they ARE isolated. and also moving around all the time.#but the main cast in arrow live in one city. and they have jobs they go to every day and stuff.#so it feels weirdly empty to not have random citizens show up more often.#also. unrelated. i fucking hate that they renamed the city later on. because one rich guy died????#also star city is way less cool.#because you can just call it 'starling' no problem. but you can't just call it 'star'. so you have to say the city part every time.#also. i wuv birds.
