Don't think about how Singed only thought of him as a experiment, the "Apex of Hextech" a mutation that must survive. How Ambessa saw him as a way to cure death, a weapon, a mutual ally.

Jayce was the only one to (correctly) recognize Viktor was still human, deep down. He even says this in the hexgates: "There must be part of you still in there". He doesn't consider any of Viktor's evolutions to be Viktor. When Viktor's real face is finally revealed, he softens and even smiles, because his Viktor is back.

If that isn't love and admiration, then I don't know what is.
