I've been working on the infrastructure for saved games in Project Special K (as opposed to map tile rendering or model animation) and just now I got an idea.
Right now it's using a bunch of JSON files. I wanted to have them zipped but ran into one issue and predicted another.
But what if I used SQLite or such instead? Good idea?

Do you use Calibre to read and organize fics? I know there is no real alternative, but it sure does get slow when there are over 10 GB of EPUBs
yeah, unfortunately calibre is state of the art. I use it myself, though even performance aside I begrudge the lack of decent server/distributed file support. I may or may not be working on an organizational solution of my own, though...
(extremely wip screenshot, all may change when/if this is ever released)
#ao3downloader#ao2downloader#ao2downloader can load a 25gb library in about 10 seconds currently#I find this just barely acceptable but we'll see what we can do#I'm starting to hit the limits of what sqlite indexes can accomplish but I have a few gambits left I haven't tried#btw? it works on mobile

CherryTree for Windows
When it comes to note-taking applications, many people think of Evernote, Microsoft OneNote, or Google Keep. However, CherryTree offers something different. They have to control complicity, complexity is the thing that will eat you up and spit you out when you are a small team. You can’t do all the things, you can’t have all of these moving parts because they all need oiling, they all need tender, they all need maintenance. You need to reduce, reduce, reduce, reduce. - DHH, , DHH Discusses SQLite (and Stoicism) with Aaron Francis (YouTube)
