hello hello!! you may know me from my main blog, @nostalgic-muffins but i have now started a writing blog! this is only a side blog but i wanted to write on this one, rather then my main so now this is a thing lol

I just watched Michael Pierce's "types revisited: istj" video and he mentioned that most Istjs would rather be seen as caring than productive and that they respond really well to compliments on their creativity and wit (xSTJs are funny as hell idc what y'all say). In his opinion, this is because the Istj knows that their need for routine and productivity hithers their ability to relax and pursue their less practical interests, so it means a lot more to them when people notice their less obvious traits. I know this seems kind of obvious but it's something I hadn't really thought about before. As an INFP, people tend to compliment me on how *~introspective and creative~* I am. I appreciate their compliments but I'm also well too aware of their downfalls. Thinking about the possibilities is way more fun than,ya know, reality, so I tend to daydream about my goals than rather than immediatley pursue them. When people mention how hardworking I am, it really makes my day!

I think thats why I tend to get along well with Te-dom types. I admire (and am jealous) of their ability to Get Shit Done and my Fi appreciate their bluntness because they never try to hide how they're feeling and what their true intentions are.

Most of my interactions with Te-dom types are like this: they're usually a person of authority (a professor or boss) and our first one-on-one interaction is them reprimanding me for being a space case lmao. Instead of being defensive, I usually apologize and listen to their criticism with an open mind. I know the infp stereotype is "don't say mean things about me ur crushing mah valueesssss" but most of the time i actually take criticism really well (the exception being: they're only criticising me to stroke their own ego. If that's the case I usually just say "fuck that shit I'm out" lmao).

My Dom Fi makes me well aware that my Fi-Ne makes it hard for me to accomplish things and I know that the Te-dom is critiquing me because they genuinely want me to improve. Most of the time the Te-dom seems surprised or visibly pleased that I'm taking their blunt criticism so well and then we tend to have a good working relationship after that. I mean, I still get annoyed about how "mean" the Te-dom is and they still get annoyed at how big of a space case I am but its more of a "fond exasperation" type deal rather than a "I hate your guts" thing. Te-doms also seem to appreciate it when I voice my ideas and seem amused by my typical infp ~off-best quirkiness~. We also tend to share the same snarky sense of humor and can banter back and forth with each other.

Anyways, that's just my own experience so idk how well this applies to other Dom-Fi/Dom-Te types. Also, like a typical Infp, I wrote this post bc I'm procrastinating cleaning my apartment and now every Dom Te in the world probably wants to wrangle my neck and scream "get off of tumblr and clean asshole!!" so Im gonna go listen to them and try to conquer a pile of dishes with some ajax now lmao.
