hOpe you're having a good day!
For the music ask - 5, 14,30!
Remember to stay hydrated! -🪽🪷🪞
Hii!! :D Thank you for the ask, I am having a good day!! (Tho this is days later, I was having a good day then too!!!)
On to the music ask… This took me a while because I have so many songs that I could say for both 5 and 30 that it took me a minute to go through them. Even then, I couldn’t completely limit it to one song, so I’m giving up a few other songs as bonuses for me being late 😅
5. A song that needs to be played LOUD?
I have so many songs that I can put here, from Sum 41 to Owl City. I also just play all my music on the highest volume. (Hey, I live with loud people. If I don’t play them loud, I will end up hearing more arguing than music) so, I have decided to interpret this question as what songs I completely lose myself in when it’s on the highest volume.
Buried Alive by Creature Feature. I love this song, but it is a song about imagining yourself being buried alive that is chock full of Edgar Allan Poe references. What can I say, I love spoopy things. And the way the melody and vocals hit on the line ‘I can’t explain just how it feels’ is enough to make me forget everything for a few seconds. This one is probably very specific to me, so I’ll give you one more for this question.
Brittle Bones Nicky 3 by Rare Americans. Really, both Brittle Bones Nicky & Brittle Bones Nicky 2 are also bangers that deserve to be listened to loud, but I put Brittle Bones Nicky 3 here because it’s my favorite 😍. It’s very fun to listen to and sing, because it has a very upbeat chorus and memorable lyrics. I will never get over the lines, ‘If it cost me my life, man, I’d save my only friend. That’s something I could live with, I could take that ‘til the end’.
14. A song that you would love played at your wedding?
As Your Father I Expressly Forbid It by Lemon Demon. Ok this one’s kinda a joke. I don’t really know what I would want to play at my wedding. I think I would want songs that remind me of my first date or a Valentine’s Day where the person I would be marrying and I shared the day together. Yk, songs that remind me of good moments of the relationship. But at this point, I’m single and haven’t had a long term relationship. So…. Neil Cicierega, aka Lemon Demon, once joked in an album commentary that ‘As Your Father I Expressly Forbid It’ is the ultimate father anthem and that everyone should play it for father-daughter dances instead of the typical John Mayer song. I’m inclined to agree.
30. A song that reminds you of yourself?
Sin Eater by Penelope Scott
Zero by image dragons
Be My Escape by Relient K
This is the question that took me sooo long. I couldn’t completely decide which song reminds me more of myself, but I was able to limit the list to three. I feel like me describing why I relate to these songs will get a bit redundant, so I’m just gonna let you listen to them.
P.S. I’m staying hydrated! I’m drink peach tea rn 🍑

Any cartoon recommendations? My friend gifted Disney+ for Christmas :)
Oooh! What a nice friend!
Okay no clue if you've seen these and I really hope I'm not just recommending stuff you've already seen or even don't like but oh my gosh for tv shows if you haven't please watch-
Ducktales 2017 of course but I probably don't have to tell you that.
Amphibia. I feel Amphibia gets a bit overshadowed by The Owl House and other shows but it is legitimately so good. The theme makes me feel pumped and despite the shorter episodes they manage to make them so funny and also so impactful. So far only season 1 is up, I wish they'd include the first half of season 2 that they've aired on tv already but ugh is what it is. Still, season 1 alone is still great and worth watching!
The Owl House. Probably most Disney fans have seen or at least heard of this by now but I cannot stress enough how good it is. It does feel familiar to Gravity Falls fans but it stands out on its own strongly as well. Just amazing.
Gravity Falls. The KING. I don't think there's anything I can say that hasn't already been said. It's clever, it's funny, it's got a great mystery element, this is a series that cannot be ignored. Short and sweet but amazing and I'll literally never forget it.
Big Hero 6 the Series. An awesome continuation of the universe that the movie started. It's really funny and legitimately has arcs that I feel could have worked for movies. Also fun fact, ideas that didn't work out for the movie have been getting reworked to be included in the show which is super clever.
Kim Possible. Classic 2000's teen spy fun that holds up so well. It looks great and it's still so fun and enjoyable.
Big City Greens. Probably the most different one on this list but it's a really silly and funny series. It feels aimed more at a younger audience but it is also surprisingly good at having humor that older audiences would like without being inappropriate. I relate to the Green family since I basically would be as lost and confused in a big city as they are. It's mostly humor but there's also heartwarming to it.
Darkwing Duck. Launchpad's favorite! It's super ridiculously out of order on Disney+ so make sure to look for Darkly Dawns the Duck parts 1 and 2 first before watching the rest. It's got that strong 90's feel to it (fitting as it is a show of the 90's of course) but it's still very funny and got great slapstick cartoon animation and humor. Don't miss this!
American Dragon Jake Long. This is an underrated great show from the 2000's! It's about a teen named Jake Long who you guessed it, is a dragon. Worth checking out! (Edit: Sources say it should be coming to Disney plus eventually. It appears to be available in some places but in America it's not currently available.)
Gargoyles. This one is such a hit from back then. It has super quality animation for the time that I still feel holds up to today with powerful messages. It's amazing, do check it out. (Edit: it turns out that yes this one is also available on Disney plus right now.)
Brain is drawing a blank on some other shows so I'll move on to some movie recommendations. Again I have no idea if you've seen any of these so hopefully I'm not just recommending stuff you already have seen 😂 If I am, sorry 😂
Big Hero 6 (the movie takes place before the series so definitely watch the movie first to get the most out of the series and the movie is incredible of course.)
A Goofy Movie. Classic 90's, an epic soundtrack, and the freaking BEST portrayal of Goofy and Max. Legitimately the second most important movie of my personal childhood. It definitely has a 90's feel to it but the performances and the way it hits the heart is timeless.
The Princess and the Frog. Legitimately one of my favorites. Tiana is one of my favorite princesses and it's such a good movie.
Brave. Merida, an icon. The music, amazing even though it's not a musical like The Princess and the Frog and other Disney Princess types. Beautiful animation. Scottish people. It's a win.
Wreck It Ralph. I have mixed feelings on Ralph Breaks the Internet but the original is such a good movie. I feel that even if you aren't a gamer it's still an enjoyable movie but if you are a gamer (which I play a lot of video games 😂) it's even more fun.
The Three Caballeros. Classic Donald fun! It's a weird trippy film but it's such fun and come on it has Donald, José, and Panchito. Win win win.
Fun and Fancy Free. Also an older film, this one has both live action and animation. The highlight is definitely the Mickey and the Beanstalk story which takes up the second half of the movie. But the first half which is the story of a bear named Bongo is still cutesy.
Mickey, Donald, and Goofy: The Three Musketeers. Seriously why does Disney not make more movies like this and the Mickey and the Beanstalk??? It's fun, it's nicely animated, it's a musical, it's really well voice acted, it's a great film.
Monsters University. I think some people brushed this off as the unnecessary prequel movie but I feel like it's a must watch. Definitely works better if you've seen Monsters Inc already though I'm sure most people have. But on it's own, it still stands really strong, it's funny, the voice acting is so strong, and it's at times painfully relatable. It's encouraging and heartbreaking at the same time. I really love it.
And lastly although this one is definitely the most unlike the rest as it's more mature and also a mix of live action and animation- Who Framed Roger Rabbit. This is such a fun film. It's a bit of a parody on the film noir genre but it's so much fun. And come on, it's got Disney and Loony Toons in it. A winner!
EDIT:
Anastasia. This one is newly added so I'm excited that it's finally here. While it is technically not a Disney film it is still an incredibly well-made animated film. Definitely took some historical liberties we'll say, it's still a very beautiful film Amazing soundtrack, stunning animation, and a great story at its heart.
This one I thought I had written down but it was missing so I must have forgotten it
Ducktales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp. This one will feel familiar like a certain Disney princess film as they are similar but this one still has enough duck flair to not feel like a rip off. It's got classic DuckTales fun as well as the classic voice actors, it's great for laughs and for the nostalgia.
Hopefully this is a good list! I tried to pick stuff that wasn't just Disney princess movies or other just popular choices. Thanks for asking and sorry for the errors! 😅

2018: Year in Review
Rules: answer the questions about 2018 and tag some people
Tagged by @isfjmel-phleg
(the following are all things I encountered for the first time in 2018, not necessarily things that were released then)
Top 5 films you watched in 2018
The Incredibles 2. Good time all the way through. Nostalgia was strong with this one.
Avengers: Infinity War. I love everyone interacting with each other. It made me happy and then the movie made me sad.
Gardians of the Galaxy. I know, I know. How have I not seen this until 2018? Honestly, I don’t know.
Black Panther. His sister is awesome.
Ralph Breaks the Internet. It was good. I just wasn’t impressed by it. It felt like a big ad for Disney and the Internet...because it was.
Top 5 TV shows you watched in 2018
Gilmore Girls. After hearing a lot about the show in college, I finally watched it and holy cow I loved it.
The Flash. It’s like all the best parts of a Marvel movie in show...and it’s DC.
A Series of Unfortunate Events. I can’t watch the show alone. I must have a sister watching it with me. It adds to the experience.
We Bare Bears. It’s relaxing. It’s cute. I relate to these bears.
Ducktales. I don’t remember watching the original show much as a kid, but the new one is freaking amazing and I love it.
Top 5 songs of 2018
“My Blood” by Twenty One Pilots
“So Will I (100 Billion X)” by Hillsong UNITED
“Tidal Wave” by Owl City
“Feel It Still” by Portugal. The Man
“High Hopes” by Panic! At the Disco
Top 5 books you read in 2018
Howl’s Moving Castle. One of two actually hard copy books I remember reading in 2018. Very sad, I know. But I liked this one a lot. And I had to finish it before my sister let me watch the anime.
The Screwtape Letters. I think I read this in 2018...This one really opened up a desire to read more theology books. Which led to me listening to:
Mere Christianity. On Audible, no shame in that. I love Lewis’s logical progression of explaining Christianity. I also love how it peels away all the denominational teachings to show just pure Christianity in its simplest form. So beautiful.
Rhett and Link’s Book of Mythicality. Another Audible book but so dang good to listen to at work. It’s the story of YouTubers Rhett and Link (how the met and how they became internetainers) as well as advice in how to make your life mythical as well. They read the book and it’s absolutely perfect. Hilarious.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Haven’t finished this one yet but I’m surprised to say I really like it. And not just because I’m a rebel and I’m reading it because I wasn’t allowed to as a kid but because it’s actually really enjoyable.
5 Good/Positive Things that happened to you in 2018
I’m taking private skating lessons because the head coach at a new rink noticed me showing off for my sister. It was something I always dreamed would happen but never thought it really would.
I moved back home. I was really hesitant about moving back after college but after a year of moving to two different states and not finding a decent job, it was time to move back. And it’s been. so. good. I have a full time job I’m mostly happy in. I have a good relationship with my parents again. My mental state is better. It’s been good.
I visited my sister and best friends for a week and it was fantastic.
I skated my first solo show program. It could have been better but that progress, man.
This one’s not really a “good” but more like a “good for me” thing but an Almost Relationship I was holding on to for 2 years ended. And it made me really sad but it’s also a huge relief. I feel like I can face whatever adventure 2019 has to throw at me without any worries or hindrances.

Do you ever think about how in The Owl House, Season 1 Episode 8 "Once Upon a Swap" Luz says that her favorite movie is "Freaky Fraturday"
Which is obviously a parody on "Freaky Friday"
A movie about a mother and daughter who swap bodies. And by the end have a better understanding of one another.
Do you ever stop to wonder hmm. For such an extreme fantasy lover like Luz, why would a movie like that be her favorite? Hmmm...

Okay so I've definitely been suspecting Sasha is the child of divorced parents for some time too but now with the confirmation, I now have a question. Does Sasha live primarily with one parent (my guess being her mom) and not see the other parent (making that her dad) nearly as often. And due to this lack of that certain parental figure in her life, lead her to attaching a strong bond and finding a father figure in a certain toad, hm?

4Kids anime dubs have many flaws and some incredibly baffling decisions but they are still my childhood and I'm incredibly thankful for them. No I'm not completely blinded by nostalgia, I can criticize them and admit the issues but I still love them and it's comforting to go back and watch them. The music, the voices, yes even the sometimes ridiculous and cheesy dub script, it's just good to go back and enjoy it sometimes regardless of the flaws.

Mabel Pines 🤝 Marcy Wu
Young female protagonists considered strange, quirky, and eccentric among their peers. Living through an unreal and even unexplainable experience. Wants to escape the terrible things of the real world. Suddenly learns they're going to be separated from those closest to them and in a panic to try to save that bond, gets manipulated and makes a rash decision involving handing over a powerful item and unintentionally causing catastrophe. Will be endlessly blamed by weirdos online for not being the face of pure calm and reason despite having their life turned upside down.

Free Guy is easily the most fun I've had at a movie in years. It really feels like the movie that Ready Player One and Ralph Breaks the Internet wanted to be, but waaaay better. As a gamer there's a ton of fun references but it didn't feel reliant on the references for humor. The message of art and artistic expression vs corporation goals and the ideas of artificial intelligence and what is "real?" All get touched on enough to make you think but don't go overboard into overly preachy or incomprehensible territory which was nice. I feel like saying Free Guy is combination of Ready Player One, The Matrix, and The Lego Movie. All topped off with Ryan Reynolds and Jodie Comer's excellent acting. And special shout out to how great Lil Rey Howery's character was as well. Loved the chemistry between him and Reynolds, their friendship is so tangible and wonderful.
The world of Free City felt fun and chaotic as if it was a real game world I could jump into. Loved seeing every inch of it that we got. I liked looking for all the little details that made the world feel like a game we could actually see.
I've seen complaints that the second act isn't as compelling due to increased focus on Joe Kerry, Utkarsh Ambudkar, and Taika Waititi, (plus Jodie Comer)'s real life characters but personally I didn't feel that way. I felt rather compelled honestly to see what these characters would do. It's so easy to think we'd all love to stand up and do the right thing even if it means standing alone but can we really put that into actions? It was interesting to me to see how the different characters react when confronted by the guy with all the power and what they ultimately choose to do.
I have to say overall I really enjoyed this movie and there weren't too many moments that made me cringe or feel confused, definitely not a single moment where I was bored. Fun film, great acting, great music, awesome collection of cameos and references, overall a great time.
9.5/10, will ready up again.
