A couple minutes to swap out sunglasses, specific lenses and types. Now having black out lenses, but still capable of seeing through them with her own supernatural energy. Specifically a pair of shades to avoid being turned to stone, even if not her style. "Your snakes are such pretty colors, still very much you vibe! Need a coat? Or blanket?"
The first thing he'd done is find Caelan-- the guy always had a blindfold on, so he figured he might have a spare. And he'd been right at least. Honestly Caelan had... a lot of them, unenchanted and ready to be made into a replacement for the one he wore. And since he himself didn't need anything special, it was perfect. He couldn't see and wouldn't be able to look on instinct now, and he'd just replace the band or get it cleaned once this was over. Probably the former, given it'd be a few weeks.
It's been a little bit and he's chosen to go somewhere isolated even with it on, just in case. Maybe once he was comfortable he might take it off, but at least for the trip, he didn't want to risk it. So when he hears a voice from nowhere with no approaching steps, it startles him and he does look in that direction on instinct. Thankfully, his foresight is enough to keep him from doing anything stupid, just because he's not used to having it always on mind. "Ah---."
He stands there for a long moment. The voice sounded familiar but everything is so.....quiet. It's unnerving. ".... Thanks. I appreciate the thought, but I.... I should be okay." The multitude of snakes are swarming around him, over his shoulders and under his arms. It feels weird and they seem to have a mind of their own. This whole situation is fucking weird, actually. Including some person showing up in the middle of the abandoned place he was currently messing around in and fixing up. "Um--- who are you? You sound vaguely familiar but uh.... can't place the voice."

One of the saddest things I've come to realize about RWBY is that its characters are defined more by what they aren't than what they are
#rwde#weiss says she's not her father and she won't run the company like he does when she gets it#but there's not even a hint as to what she plans to do w it once she has it#if you want to show her growth as a character then her plans for the sdc are an absolute must#start her out as v business minded by solely number crunching and focusing on networking#then have her learn more abt the harm the sdc has done to make her switch focus to more humanitarian practices#maybe even wanting to abolish the company wholesale#blakes the most egregious example imo#there is not a single instance of someone arguing *for* peaceful protest. it's always *against* violent protest#which are v different things#its esp bad when you've read the comics where blake and adam are liberating people from literal cages#'what abt the crew members :(' idk blake what abt the slaves youre abandoning by fleeing to beacon?#why should we care abt workers - that we never actually see mind you- who are complicit in slavery?#even worse#WE NEVER SEE ANY CHARACTERS ACTUALLY PERFORMING PEACEFUL PROTEST#theres the flashback and the newsclip from v1 and thats IT#a past event and noise filler#riveting#im for violent protest wholesale but i still understand the merit of peaceful protest#theres actual strategy behind it that isnt purely playing into respectability politics#but youd never know that by watching this show bc peaceful protest is never a focus. it's only anti violence#and not even any good arguments even tho there are plenty to use#esp none in a world thats built around violence due to the man eating monsters roaming round#do we ever see diplomacy actually work in rwby?? i cant think of a genuine moment of solid conflict that isnt resolved w a gunblade#rwby is a fighting action show so on its premise alone it cant avoid fights#so arguing 'violence is bad :(' is doubly stupid#anyway this essay is kicking my ass almost as thoroughly as my life#words are hard#writing them down is even harder#i have like 5 different openings to the section abt this v thing and i cant figure out wtf im doing

#rat rambles#stars posting#from the top au#Ive been thinking abt their and odile's dynamic and tee hee. smiles.#and also abt memories as a whole because I like playing around with them from a more in universe perspective#in one playthrough I watched someone theorized that memories were related to expressions and Ive been low key obsessed with that concept#not to say Im hard committing to incorporating that into this aus worldbuilding but I do want to have odile try to look more into memories#along with the various other gamey things that siffrin has going on but most of those are easier to intuit#but yeah Im imagining that after the first loop hang out odile can get her own unique loop hang out because shes special <3#and also because loop Is the one who has been turorialising siffrin so theyre a good person to question and potentially bounce ideas off of#loop isnt. particularly invested. but they go along with it in hopes shed just use them as a rubber ducky and then move on with her life#but the whole hangout is just them getting increasingly uncomfortable as odile starts pondering if she could access these things as she#learned to with her and siffrin's shared timecraft and they quickly get snippy as she threatens to dig into places that neither they or#siffrin would be even remotely ok with her finding#theres a bunch of lil layers I wanna explore with these two but for this scene in particular Im mostly fond of the idea of like.#loop getting defensive of siffrin I think? or maybe defensive on their behalf? however you wanna word it#I just find loops moments of sympathising and seeing their past self in siffrin to be very interesting and fun#also I think this event could be a fun gateway into odile memories. heart.#which I dont plan on doing too much with but its nice to have the option

Sometimes I get so annoyed by certain coworkers who DO NOT think about their actions and how it can (and almost always) affects others in the office (sometimes even clients)
I get we all have personal issues and or things we want to do, so taking off work is the only option BUT when something has been planned for a month and you decide last minute that you need to step away during the time frame you are needed and supposed to be here while also making others change their schedules… well to be honest I think it’s RUDE and unprofessional!!
