for someone with a fashion sense variating between "i have to be the most peculiar and strange creature in the grocery store" to "anything more than a cotton shirt and pants today will make me crumble" i have to say. aziraphale looking like a crisp, bunched up laundry that you got out of the washer a moment ago, pulling a literal valentino model, makes me feel like there's hope in the world
#good omens#ineffable husbands#aziracrow#crowley#aziraphale#aziraphale x crowley#aziraphale's fashion is always 200 years or so late but he's also so accustomed to vintage clothing#and i get insane amount of joy imagining them in the future following that trend#50 years from now?#crowley will be wearing hovershoes or some sort of cyberpunk glasses. aziraphale will merely rediscover the 1920' wide stripes#or knitted pullovers#they are so dear to me#marcela talks#i want to break queue

Probably no one is interested in this but like,, it’s knitting season and I already started off strong:
Behold, the sugarplum pullover using langyarn’s orion in blue/green.
I need to buy one more skein and then I’ll be able to finish it. I’ll post the result too.

December craft update
Have finally completed the yoke and divided for sleeves. This one is for my soon-to-be 12 year old niece. She’s finally old enough I can start using adult knitting patterns, so long as I go for the smallest size. Suddenly the options are endless! Pattern for this was selected by her parents from 4 options. Really glad they picked it as I’ve been dying for an excuse to make it since I first stumbled across it on ravelry. Pattern is Strawberry Season Pullover by Tanis Gray.

so anyway I finished the baby dragon blanket.
this project took me easily over 100 hours to knit, plus 20ish hours to design and create the pattern itself. it's something like 200 stitches across and 250 rows long, with the backing knit directly onto the front panel. the baby I started this for has been born long enough that the parent has finished their parental leave and come back to work already (which I guess means I can easily hand it off after it's blocked?)
I broke the 'don't invent a new pattern for a gift' rule and paid the consequences. I could reasonably have done some research instead of just reinventing techniques, but I had fun and I think this turned out a solid 8/10 which is probably better than I had any right to expect under the circumstances.
#baby dragon blanket#IT'S DONE#except for blocking#which it really does desperately need#don't @ me about the mistakes in it I am keenly aware of them but every row takes like 20 minutes so I'm not going to fix a damn thing#knitting#fiber arts#I'm actually quite proud of it and QUITE TIRED OF IT but of course I've already had an idea for a new daring pattern#so I might not even give myself a break#the new daring pattern is going to be a pullover though or maybe a cardigan. not a blanket.#and it will NOT involve colourwork so that right there should solve so many issues

In the past few months I knit not one, not two, but three Winona Pullovers (Heavyweight edition)! Only one was for me but this pattern knits up very fast despite the double knitting and it’s such a nice fit, I highly recommend it! I never did double knitting before and this is a great introduction to it, the chance for bad gauge matching is much smaller than with a button band.
Picture 1 and 3 are the same size, picture 2 is a larger size. For more details you can check out my Ravelry pages for these projects (username myrtebreit).

The Autumn League Pullover is finished! I first knit it years ago and absolutely hated the fit. Finally decided to attempt the pattern again with some new yarn and tailoring mods to pull it in a bit after the bust and around the waist. I cannot believe how much I love it already and I’m so excited for the snow to arrive. This is going to get a lot of use.
I really enjoyed working with Briggs and Little Tuffy, and regret not buying a suitcase full while in Canada. Luckily, it looks pretty spiffy when paired with Lettlopi.

This is a friendly reminder that it does NOT take six balls of yarn to make a sweater. Check the goddamned yardage on the pattern, lest you slink back to the store in shame.
