teeny tiny blurbo in which chay is a cat shifter (sorcerer who can turn into a cat) and kim is a sorcerer too (powers unknown)!

It's another lazy afternoon. Chay, on summer break from his studies at the wizarding college nearby, finally has the time to relax.

And relaxing is all he does now. Carefully padding across the room, he leaps up onto the couch where Kim is laying, reading a spell book of sorts. Sneaking under Kim’s raised arm, he crawls onto Kim’s chest. He greets the sorcerer with a soft mrreow, bunting his furry forehead against Kim’s chin before rubbing his cheek against Kim’s jawline.

Chay shifts as the surface below him moves, Kim accepting his gesture of affection with a warm, rumbly chuckle. His claws instinctively unsheath to grip Kim’s tunic better, but he quickly retracts them, not wanting to leave Kim with scratches. At least, not this way.

When Kim settles, the sound tapering off as Kim grins down fondly at Chay, Chay settles too, tucking his paws under his calico body, taking the loaf form.

“One more chapter and I’m all yours,” Kim promises, and Chay mrrps in response. He can think of many things to do when Kim is done, things he’d need a catnap for. Good that he's taking one now.

Kim then returns his attention to his book, but Chay doesn't mind. Not when Kim starts to trace from the tip of his nose to his forehead in a soothing pattern.

Lowering his chin, he rests it just at the tip of Kim’s sternum. He can faintly feel Kim’s heartbeat beneath his furry belly, his chest rising and falling with every breath. The hum of their magical signatures intertwining as their hearts are in close proximity, the bonds tugging.

It's warm, like the afternoon sun shining through the stained glass and scattering in a kaleidoscope of colours on his back.

A purr, deep and content starts to build in the back of his throat.

As his eyes flutter shut, Chay starts to think that he wouldn't mind if Kim read two or three more chapters instead.
