Deciding to finally post this work I did months ago and no longer keep it locked in a vault in a dungeon. This was super challenging for me to do I’m not even gonna lie lol. I’ve never done a two-person composition with a background before but there’s a first time for everything and it is also how we grow as artists.

As you can see there’s not much happening in the background and the sparkling lights fade into the background as well. I wanted to go for a Polaroid effect and I ran into many issues with figuring out how to best achieve that look. Looking back now, I don’t think it came out bad at all and I can use this as a learning experience

Dumb art advice for people who can’t understand logic like me:

First, turn off your brain and just draw a bunch, for example you want to learn to draw hands, go on Pinterest search ‘Hands’ and just copy what you see, do this everyday for 30min-1hour, slowly you’ll get a vague understanding of how hands work

THEN, go and watch some tutorials and the learn structure of the hand. The logic and structure are important but you won’t understand anything if you don’t already have a good picture of what the thing look like in your brain.

(This method works really well if you want to learn anatomy, don’t go dig into the muscle and skeleton, draw figures first, you don’t need to know what you’re drawing you just need to have an understanding of the flow of human body, it will help you greatly later on when you really go into the structure of body)

Of course this is only based on personal experiences, you can learn the theories and then practice but that did not work for me, if I don’t have hands on experience on what I’m drawing I won’t understand a single word in the tutorial. Do what works best for you I’m just putting this out here

BUt I had a vision and by the gods if i wasnt going to follow it. I absolutely love scottie and the moment i read he was gullible and had bought a bunch of useless crap i just had to come up with a situation where dan would be able to scam him. So here is Scottie, on holiday to Auron city in the carribean, and he runs right into dan's trashcan of operation. Will he actually go ahead and buy this overpriced rock pet? I will leave that up to you but i thought it would be a fun lil scene. But by god I needed so many references for this piece (including taking a photo of myself for scottie's pose because finding specific poses is hell) and urban backgrounds are so not my thing. Decided to make it a lil more fun for me by adding 2 posters, a wanted poster of dan that dan tore off himself and an advert for King's casino, my character Thorn's property. It didnt quite entirely turn out the way i wanted but if i worked on it any longer my arm would fall of and i would have gone insane so it is what it is. Hope you like it though! Happy artfight every body! dont do what i do and render every art piece because you are going to murder your arm, ill probably need to take a lil break from drawing i do not want carpal tunnel no thank you

The Spock gets made human episode of Strange New Worlds is truly abysmal about missing its own point. It wants so badly to make a point about the othering of humans by Vulcans but shoots that point repeatedly in order to have Spock experiences emotions jokes. So then at the end when everyone is giving their little humans are worthy speeches it's like they came from an entire different plot line.

I'm going to my first Con this month and I. I am terrified. I can only go for one day since I have to help my mom move back in with her parents, but that's just more scary to me. That fo-mo shit, right?

So I have so many things running through my head. Like, who do I want to cosplay, who do I want to spend like 12 hours in; do I wear coloured contacts or not, do I wear my glasses because i won't be able to see otherwise or stick to canon? What do I do?
