I- I actually did it. Rough draft of chapter 7 is actually complete, at 7.5k words (not a lot, I know, but it's the longest chapter so far, and unless I get carried away with the epilogue it will remain the longest) and after, what, two weeks? I sincerely hope this lives up to expectations and that the longer length and goofy bits and fluffy bits make up for the wait, and that the conflict resolution is satisfactory. I really really hope so.

I just want Peri to go back and be Devs babysitter. Knowing Dev lost his memories and trying to do right by this kid. Trying so hard to not make the same mistakes.

But I also want Dev to be scared to tell Peri he remembers because what if Peri has to leave then or if Jorgon comes to actually wipe his memories. Ao Dev doing his best to act like he did before he had his change of heart.

Basically Peri desperately trying to be a better god parent and Dev desperately (and failing) to be a bad ungrateful kid. (It’s how he sees his past actions)

Then we get guilt of Peri seeing how much of Devs happiness was lost with his memories and how much of a set back this is gor Dev while Dev seeing how mean he is to Peri and how miserable he is making him, which is worse this time because hes doing it on purpose. Dev now knowing Peri really does care but feels forced to be mean so not to slip up and loose Peri again. And Peri now having seen how bad at this he is. Seeing how he is still failing Dev at every turn. But neither willing to give up the other because they know what could have been. Peri knows Dev is a good kid. Dev knows Peri cares about him.

actually, i think Brad and Hunter's eye thing is a reasonable canon basis for the "true ghost form" fanon theory. They look normal most of the time, but at will/if they stop concentrating (unsure if its an active "i'm going to make my eyes bleed" or a passive "i'm going to stop making my eyes not bleed"), their appearance alters in a way that reflects their death. We see a lot of normal-looking ghosts, but we see them looking ill or scary on occasion, as well. This implies there is some element of active choice in a ghost's appearance, whether they decide to mask the spookier aspects of how they look. It follows that the boys could be able to do this as well--though that does raise some questions, like: can all ghosts do spooky things like that/do all ghosts have "true"/death forms? or is it only limited to murder victims/traumatic deaths/tragic deaths? is it always unique to the ghost or is there like, an established set of Spooky Abilities you gain as a ghost?

Anyway, this is sort of getting off track. What i'm saying is i bet charles could be soaking wet and bruised at will if he wanted to be, but neither he nor edwin want to go aroumd scaring people, so they never use their spooky powers.

I was researching something unrelated and stumbled over the art of Kobayashi Kaichi. As you can see, I was unable to walk away from that . This is a redraw of his Blue Birds series minus the last picture (which was pretty too, but did not fit in my idea). I think there are no more blue birds in here, I yeeted the colour scheme out the window. But this was all I could think of, when I saw the series.
