I both believe "poor people deserve art" and "artists deserve food", but it's hard to reconcile those beliefs. I blame capitalism. And I suppose it mostly matters who you're stealing from?
I don't mean to question you at all, I'm against people pirating your stories. I guess I was just wondering if you had more thoughts regarding the reconciliation the two beliefs I quoted above.
I think the reconciliation is working toward a future where things are better, and authors and artists don't have to beg people not to steal from them because they think every author is Stephen King, who wouldn't notice if you stole the pennies found under his couch when in reality most of us are hunting for spare change down the back of the couch because we are earning below minimum wage.
We need people to embrace the idea that art belongs to the working class, both in terms of consumption but also creation.
If you don't support the working-class creators, you'll only end up with rich fucks with no scope of the world beyond their own narrow view of privilege.
Indie creators are actually working very hard to change the way the industry works, and the publishing industry is shitting itself over it. They don't like the success some of us are having. It's why they keep upping prices while slashing corners on their own production (while never affecting the man at the top) to try and stay competitive within the rat race they've created.
They're not interested in the proliferation of art. They're not interested in making sure their authors can afford to live. They don't want more diversity. They don't want inclusion. They want profit at whatever the cost.
And while indie creators very much need to get paid because we live in a capitalistic society and everything is burning down around us, and a carton of eggs now costs more than what I earn per hour, our creativity is directly at odds with the type of profiteering big publishers want.
The money should go to the writers. Not the CEOs. The money should go to the workers in the print houses. Not the CEOs. No one needs the kind of wealth these people have. It's obscene. We need direct action against these conglomerates. We need unionization. We need a means to fight back so that we can make art and make it accessible.
So, how do we do that? I don't know. I'm just a very tired, disabled creator doing my best to keep my head above water. But I think getting people to realize that art and books are worth saving up for would be a good start.
That putting money in the pockets of creators is just as important as your own enjoyment of their art. Because if there aren't any artists, you've got nothing.
Getting them involved with their local libraries would also be a great start. Educating them on how the industry works is part of that. The number of people telling me they had no idea libraries paid authors is staggering. And that's intentional. It's a by-product of right-wing propaganda to make you think libraries are worthless and just sap taxpayers' money.
They're not.
If they were, the fash wouldn't be trying so hard to take them away.
Basically, we need working-class solidarity and for certain people on the left to rid themselves of the idea that just because something isn't borne of manual labor, it doesn't have worth. We need the artists and the dreamers as much as we need to bricklayers and the craftsmen. Otherwise, what's the fucking point of it all?
#sorry#this isn't an actionable answer to your question#I don't know what that answer is#I just need people to realize art is not the exclusive creation of the wealthy#and treating it as such is making everything worse

GLOW-UP LIKE NEVER BEFORE SERIES
Ladies, we are here. This is the beginning of your glow-up like never before by 2025. We are not sleeping on ourselves in the remaining four months of this year. There is no more putting yourself second, wishing and wanting to be a better version of yourself, because this is your opportunity to show up for you. I will be providing the steps and guidance so stay tuned, its going to be a journey. One that kicks off today.
youtube
Week 1: CREATING THE VISION
This week is for getting into the energy of how you want to feel come January 2025. The vision should excite you, you want to feel like your wildest dreams are possible and this where you lean into faith, trust and imagination.
Step 1: On the first page of your new journal script 3 pages in present tense of what your life looks and feels like on January 1st 2025. You want to get into the small details, using all your senses, what you can hear, see, smell, feel, go all in. Write as much as you can to embody the version of you in your highest expression. It might seem crazy to write this, especially in such a short amount of time, but once you start moving correctly timelines can easily be collapsed. I am a walking testimony of this, as I went from sharing a room in the UK to moving into a spacious 2-bed open view apartment overseas, within four weeks. Did I believe? Yes. Had I been doing all the steps I am sharing with you? Yes. By scripting your life, as crazy and whacky as it may seem you are moving your dreams from thought to reality. A dose of faith is also required for step 1.
Step 2: Vision board, this is where you get to have fun. Find those images on Pinterest that make you feel ‘omg is this my actual fucking life *screams internally* ‘. Again, no playing small. If you want the G-wagon and you’re driving the Honda, add it to your board, if you’re wanting to write a book, add a New York Times bestseller sticker to your vision board, bring your dreams to life. Save to desktop, screensaver, phone Home Screen. You want to see your vision board at the very least a few times per week.
Step 3: Write supporting affirmations for your new vision life. I am, I feel, it feels so good to….Lean into the feelings, be creative. As you write your affirmations a minimum of five, you want to record these on your phone and loop them before bed. You can extend these affirmations, and turn it into a rampage - this is where you really speak life into yourself, going into more details. Your recording can be 1 min - 5 mins. It doesn’t have to be crazy long, the main point is to keep it simple and inspiring. You want to feel inspired when you listen, your own voice, speaking life into your dreams, declaring them. Once you’ve got the recording - LOOP IT. You want this on loop when you’re out on walks this week, when you’re overthinking, but most importantly before you go to bed. Leave it on loop overnight. The goal is to do this every single night for one week.
Step 4: In the back of your journal in short hand write your 1-3 top goals. It might be earn £10k per month, move into your dream apartment, work for x company. Whatever it is, in very simple words write them, 1-3. And do this EVERY SINGLE DAY. If you skip write it in your phone notes or on the nearest piece of paper. Set a reminder on your phone, because this is such a simple step to manifesting that actually WORKS.
I know it might seem like some effort to do steps 1-4, but do you want to live the life of your dreams and invest in your expansion and be so proud of who you are come 1st Jan 2025, or do you want to scroll like a cabbage, and watch everyone else live their dream life, and feel like another year, another of unfulfillment ? Your task, put 30mins - 1 hour aside today to do the above. Homework for the rest of the week, read your affirmations, listen to your recording daily before bed and write those goals down!
Coming next: Week 2: Living by your values + creating space for your dream life…

Do you know who you are?
To the world these days, or at least my generation and younger, personal identity matters a whole lot to people. And to these same people, your identity can be whatever you want it to be.
You are identified by your gender, and they say your gender can be whatever you want on any day.
You are identified by your sexuality and relationship status.
You are identified by the colour of your skin.
You are identified by your job.
There’s more, but I think you get the idea.
So in the eyes of these people, I am male, straight and single, white, and a cafe worker. But I don’t really think that describes ‘Cory’.
But we Christians have a different view of identity. Here’s what the Bible says about who we are.
Psalm 139: 15-16 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
To start with, God knows exactly who you are. He knows everything there is to know about you. So if anyone can show you who you are, it is God.
1 John 3: 1 See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know Him.
We are called God’s children. We are adopted in to the King’s family.
Romans 8:16-18 Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in His sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
By being adopted in to the King’s family, we are made co-heirs with Christ, sharing in His sufferings and glory.
Isaiah 43:1 But now, this is what the Lord says— He who created you, Jacob, He who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
We belong to God.
Romans 6:6 This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe.
Thanks to Christ’s death and resurrection, our faith in Him clothes us in His righteousness and redeems us of our sins. God looks upon us and sees the perfection of Christ.
Ephesians 2:10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
God is perfect, and so is everything He creates. God does not make mistakes. You are His masterpiece, the crowning reflection of His perfect creativity.
1 Corinthians 6:19 Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God?
Your body is a holy space where God dwells.
Ephesians 1: 4 Even before He made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in His eyes.
God created the world in the first chapter of Genesis, and even before then, He knew you perfectly and has loved you perfectly since then.
1 Corinthians 12: 27 Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.
You belong as part of something greater than yourself, and you cannot function to your greatest potential separate to the body.
You were created to do things that other parts of the body cannot do, and you were created to benefit the body just as other parts were created to benefit you.
1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
You are a royal priest of the King. In the old testament, only the high priests could enter the holy of holies within God’s temple. But we, belonging totally to God and being chosen by Him, can enter the presence of God at any time.
And this is all thanks to Christ leaving heaven to become a man, taking our sin to the cross and dying in our place, taking our judgement, and in return sharing His righteousness with us.
Do you know who you are? God does.
#to speak of kings and stars#i did communion at church this afternoon#and this was most of the message i gave#it ended up tying directly in to the sermon#even though i had no input on the sermon at all

after a year and a handful of months of debating on if i should, or wanted to, do commissions (and with some convincing and hyping from friends) i've decided why the heck not!
so to everyone whose ever complimented me and hyped me up for my themes and graphics thank you and you're definitely another driving force in this decision.
making graphics is therapeutic to me and i take a lot of pride and joy in doing it, from seeing everyone loving the things i create. and i want to share that pride and joy even more, sooo if you've ever struggled with making a good theme, feel too lazy to make one, need a banner for a fic or masterlist, a header, or just need someone to help your graphic vision come together; i'm here to provide!
before you commission something, or just want some examples, please check out my past work and portfolio!
PORTFOLIO | PINTEREST | ART TAG | GIFS
PLEASE THOROUGHLY READ THROUGH THE RULES!!!!
✶ all payments will be made through kofi or fiverr depending on what you're commissioning. if you'd rather go through paypal that is also a valid option just message me.
when it comes to commissioning anything details matter!!! i need complete details of what you want to be created. i will not accept something like 'floral vibe' or 'something with browns'. that gives me nothing. i need a vision, i need as much information as possible, examples (but do not take them from other creators please i will decline your commission), you can take inspo or examples from my own themes, or go through my pin board. the more details the better. the greater i can make your vision come into view. this is important!!!
i will not use other peoples art. do not ask for it to be included in whatever project i am creating. everything i make is for personal use only.
you will get two redos for me to change something you don't like about the theme. a preview of the finished product will be sent your way and you can ask for something to be completely re-done, but after that no changes will be made.
please include your user or where you want me to send your graphics within your request.
there's not a time span in which you have to use the theme or graphic for, but a week would be complimentary.
you can commission as many times as you wish after i've finished the first one.
for my own personal reasons minors are not allowed to commission things.
we do not have to be mutuals, nor do you have to be following me to commission something.
you don't have to outwardly give me credit but please do not claim my creations as your own.
if you have any questions before commissioning something my messages are always open and there is never a dumb question. please feel free to ask!
✶ fandoms i will not accept commissions for: anime, supernatural, our flags mean death, good omens (because i am not in them nor have enough knowledge on how to make the vision really suit said fandoms).
a full theme includes: a navigation banner and a header.
when commissioning a theme there are a few things that need to be mentioned and answered, so please include them in your request!
what kind of navi banner do you want? (refer to my portfolio for this, or if you just want something simplistic, big, small, medium, extra, messy, chaotic, etc)
what vibe are you going for? (dark academia, greek myth, ocean, dainty, horror, etc)
colors? (a must ok i need to know, if you give me none then i'm going to do whatever and choose what i think looks best and that's also fine if you want me to have complete creative liberties)
whats your overall vision? (can be included in the vibes section but giving me more detail is better)
text. (what do you want included on it, words, titles, information, quotes, etc)
examples. (like i mentioned in the rules examples are encouraged but do not take them from other creators on here and i will not copy, or make them look like someone else's work)
what kind of header do you want? (a simple png that goes along with the navi colors and vibe, a whole other banner-esk graphic, none, etc)
✶ see the add ons section below if you want more things included in your theme.
now these add ons are only for themes. if you commission a header only, or gif, they will have their own add on options.
$1 - for dividers that match your theme in color and vibe (if you want symbol, graphic, or anything that's not color then the price goes up a dollar)
$1 - three+ icon options (want the perfect icon to fit your theme and don't want to do the searching yourself? i got you)
$2 - content warning + minor dni banners (i'll make theme specifically to match your theme, with your user, and whatever you want them to say or look like etc)
$3 - layout + navi formatting (aka i'll come up with a completely new layout format for your navigation post + your bio)
$4 - a gif header or a gif included within the navi graphic (this is the highest price because finding clips, extracting scenes into caps, making the gif, coloring it to match the theme, blending, etc, is a lot lol)
a header commission includes: only a header. it is not a theme, just a mobile header, or a header for a masterlist, or fic.
the information needed for this commission are as listed below.
what kind of header do you want? (aka what is it for. this is important because the look is dependent on this information)
colors, vibes, vision. (more detail the better)
text. (if you want text on it, what do you want it to say, so title, etc)
examples. (not needed but a plus)
gif commissions include: gifs for your fics or masterlists. not for themes or headers.
depending on how you want these little moving pictures to look you gotta give some details.
fandom, character, scenes. (don't just say 'any scene' unless you truly want me to choose whatever scene lmao)
how many? (the current cut off is six, if you want more then there's an add on)
coloring. (you can completely leave this up to me but if you want them to be a certain color then please let me know, i'll also check with you before making all of them to make sure you like the coloring)
text. (want them to say anything? a title? subtitles? dialogue from your fic? your username on them? etc)
add on: blends. (want two characters or actors from different angles, scenes, or fandoms in the same gif? i got you)
add on: textures. (if you want added details such as a texture on the gifs then this will be extra, but i need to know what kind of texture / details you want added)
fic commissions: are only done through fiverr or paypal. if you are interested in commissioning a fic or any kind of writing then please refer to my fiverr and inquire over there or message me on here. thank you!!
✶REMEMBER TO MESSAGE ME WITH ANY QUESTIONS YOU HAVE BEFORE COMMISSIONING, NO MATTER THE TIME OR SUBJECT, I ENCOURAGE IT!
contact info: on tumblr, or discord: toldbylaur.
where to commission: kofi or pm me!

i know it's not directed at me, but my conversation starter is that i personally find fandom as a place for anyone and everyone. i think my genuine confusion for the discourse is that the age limit to use ao3 is 13, and that most of these works in question are properly tagged as well. (if they aren't then that's an entirely different conversation.)
oh and also that teenagers have sex?
if you don't wanna see it that's never a huge problem! of course you should stay within your comfort zone and avoid things that make you feel uncomfortable (especially if you're on the younger age of the spectrum of minors on these websites!)
but arguing that smut shouldn't exist is something i've never truly understood. Sexuality is something that people (yes that includes young people) can and should explore if they want to. Writing and consuming it in fandom is a way for many older teenagers and young adults to do that in a safe and healthy way.
Especially when it is those things like rape and non-con stuff--shouldn't we be relieved that instead of causing harm to others, people are just using their creativity to write about it?
Tumblr has always been the Gay People Site™, and to me and my expression of both my gender and sexuality, sex is a huge part of that. People have sex! Teenagers have sex! Some people even like to read and write about it!
Unfortunately for a lot of people, their self expression is not socially accepted as the norm, and they can--and may already have--faced disgust and discrimination for their private interests. Sites like Archive of our Own and Tumblr were made for the freedom of self expression and exploring personal interests in an anonymous way, especially those that may be considered taboo.
Will you find me reading incest fics? Probably not, that's not my cup of tea. But I won't complain either, because I know that it may be that for the author and some other people. As long as a fic is properly tagged, I personally do not have issue with content as long as it does not cause mental or physical harm to other (real world) people.
These are fictional characters, and I truly believe that censoring authors and artists just because what they're creating is considered problematic or even just openly disobeys what is widely accepted as the norm is silly and reductive of what we've been fighting for for decades. Humans are sexual beings with sexual minds, and in our modern age we use our thoughts to write whatever we feel like. Sometimes that happens to be sex!
It may be uncomfortable, and may not be for you, but the existence of fanfiction as a whole can open up more understanding for people who are looking for connection, not just connection that you yourself deem "acceptable."
Sex is not something that's impure nor dirty, it is inherently human. It's personal and intimate, but it is not wrong.
this ask is mostly applied to what i've found in kotlc as a fandom, but my inbox is open anytime if you (or anyone who may read this) wants me to expand more on fandom spaces as a whole. i have more thoughts on real world people and a lot of other topics, but i tried to keep it to just what applied to keeper. (trying not to write an entire essay in yours haha.)
i'm aware that i may have a more lenient view on this than most as well, so i'd love to hear your thoughts <3
yeah no i agree basically with all of this! it's something i've been really grappling with over the last few years (especially recently as a ship i really find uncomfortable has become big in some of my circles of mutuals, which has been interesting to see how i thought about it when it was first a thing 3ish years ago and how my reactions have changed now). i think as i grew up i just stopped almost. caring about what other people make? like i just. filter shit out on ao3 and on tumblr and scroll past shit i don't want to see. i unfollow or block if it really becomes an issue.
but personally i just really don't like the idea of any art being given a moral value, even when it portrays topics we really don't want to think about or might feel uncomfortable with. like, my parents wouldn't let me read the hunger games until i was a certain age because the mass child death etc were just so fucking horrifying that they didn't want me exposed to it. and even reading it as an adult i'm like. okay. holy fuck. but that doesn't mean it's immoral or gross or disgusting just because it portrays fucked up things as fiction. and it definitely doesn't say anything about the author that she wrote it.
you don't have to read smut if you're not comfortable with it! you're allowed to be made uncomfortable by sex! but as long as it's properly warned for so you can avoid it, that doesn't mean it shouldn't be allowed to exist.

your fanfic doesn't need to be Content
ok so thanks to this lovely anonymous message i've been motivated to organize my thoughts on the increasingly common phenomenon of fanfic writers treating their own fics like Content for consumption, the way an influencer on social media might (all of this is in the context of the marauders fandom specifically -- no idea how or whether it might apply elsewhere)
what i mean by that is, essentially, instances of fanfic writers playing into the idea that fanfiction is a product created for the consumption of readers (and thereby the idea that fandom is a community that can be clearly divided between "producers"/writers and "consumers"/readers).
some examples i've seen: people "advertising" their fics on platforms like tiktok, sometimes even before they've started writing said fic ("hey guys i'm going to start writing a fic with x y z who's interested??"), or making posts asking outright "if i wrote a fic with x y z would people read it??" i've also seen people share concerns that if they write a certain thing they want to write (i.e, heavy smut, heavy angst, etc) then it will make their fic less "accessible" to a broader audience ("i want everyone to be able to enjoy my fics!")
another recent example that comes to mind is the "jegulus strike." while i'm sure it was largely well-intentioned, a strike is a form of protest tied inextricably to a consumer economy, and positioning writers as laborers who are standing in opposition to readers demanding that labor reinforces the framework of a consumer economy in which fanfiction is a product for consumption.
something i want to make clear here--i'm not saying that any of these behaviors are like....Moral Failings deserving of Ridicule. i think we are all very much conditioned by late-stage capitalism + algorithmic social media to view everything, even our hobbies, within the framework of a consumer economy. this is just me observing some of the ways i see that mindset creeping into fandom spaces.
like. i think there's this unspoken assumption that art is only worthwhile if it has an audience; that creative pursuits only matter if you can profit from them. if people are applying this mindset to fanfiction, then it makes sense to see this impulse to advertise fics the way authors advertise their books on tiktok, or twitter, or whatever. it makes sense for writers to become preoccupied with audience perception, perhaps changing their stories to make them more palatable for a certain audience or even going into the writing process with the audience already in mind--an overhanging and ever-present anxiety, asking yourself "how will this be received?"
the problem is that fanfiction doesn't fit into this model. it has always been meant for a niche audience, never the mainstream, and it has always existed outside the profit economy. trying to turn fanfiction into broadly consumable content is antithetical to the medium itself, and, in all likelihood, will fail. the vast majority of fanfiction is never going to be read by hundreds of thousands of people. if you go into writing it with an audience as your end goal, you will likely be disappointed.
what makes fanfiction so wonderful and unique is that it is meant to be written, first and foremost, for the writer. fanfiction as a medium grew out of personal joy in creation, out of individuals who thought "I want to see this story for myself" and then wrote it. because fanfiction is specific, catered to individual tastes and niche audiences, it lends itself to a unique sort of community in which your work attracts other people with that same niche taste, making it easier to strike up a conversation or start a friendship by saying, "hey, i love this story you wrote for yourself! it just so happens to be the exact sort of thing i wanted to read."
so i guess at the end of the day, my question for other fic writers is: if nobody was ever going to read this, would you still want to write it?
and if the answer is no...i think that's something that calls for reflection! where is your motivation rooted? is it rooted in a desire to create, in the joy of creation? or is it rooted in a desire to be seen, to be validated? wanting to be seen and validated is entirely natural, and it is by no means a bad thing. oftentimes, both these impulses--creation and validation--will be part of the decision to write + post a fic. but if validation is your primary motivation, and if you have internalized the idea that validation means getting as many people as possible to look at the thing you're making and click a heart button, then you will probably end up disappointed. you will probably end up feeling like your writing isn't good enough, no matter how many people end up reading it--because no audience will ever be big enough to validate you if you aren't able to take pride in your creation independent of any metrics of consumption.
i'm not saying that you should never share your fics on social media. like i mentioned above, community is one of the best parts of fanfiction--but are you posting in search of community? or are you posting in search of an audience? i know the line can get blurry sometimes, but i do think those two things look different, and i do think it is productive to look inwards and ask what you are truly seeking when you throw your writing into the void of social media posts. and i think as writers it's important not to fall into the trap of acting like our fics are a product intended for audience consumption, because to do so contributes to the deterioration of a fandom culture that is separate from the profit economy. plus, i just think all of us would be happier if we started trying to actively unlearn the idea that art is only worthwhile if it manages to amass a huge audience.
#art is worthwhile because it's art!!!#creations matter because the act of creation holds value!!!#anyway. this is something ive spent a lot of time reflecting on personally#and i think it's a good thing for anyone writing fanfiction to reflect on!!#like it's completely valid to want people to read ur writing#but if that is the DRIVING FORCE behind why ur writing....it probably won't be sustainable in the long run#ranting and raving

Hello everyone! Thank you all for almost 50 followers!! :3c All activity has been on my main account @morguemaw, so if you want more direct content of Lusttale shoot me a ask about it!!!!
So, abit has changed over the few months and i have a update, coupled with info for all you new guys who found this blog!
1) AU is decided to be 16+. Its suggestive, no NSFW will be posted/shown as i want whatever content i MYSELF to post to be accessible to everyone within a comfortable range! There will be light sexual jokes, however if at any point it reaches too much, please tell me! I know the AU itself should obviously be considered a Explicit Rated AU, however i know there are people who enjoy the AU without the sexual aspects.
2) This AU is not a fan AU OR variant: This AU was made with the plan to 100% rewrite Underlust, i will explain below!!
Why the rewrite?:
I've loved Underlust since i joined the Undertale community, and others have too! However, the owner WAS involved and DID create content involving fontcest, a nazi Chara, Frans content, and was friends/mutuals with others who also created gross content like BlogTheGreatRogue and Lizherubones. This disgusted me and made alot of others feel the same. The AU was left off on a confusing as shit note, from the disgusting writing of Lust MTT to the messed up relationship between the brothers. I want to erase this the best i can. Alot of characters have also 0 content (Such as Lust Alphys) and although i will mostly focus on Sans/Papyrus/Frisk still, i WILL be creating content for mostly every character to again ensure the AU is fully fleshed out for as much enjoyment as possible.
Wheres the creator/owner?:
Awhile back, the owner, NSFWshamecave/Niel, left the internet and the AU for personal and mental reasons and bounced between owning and not owning the Au. They have since been MIA(Missing In Action) from the internet and AU, i doubt they will return or be involved at this point. The AU is considered fandom owned, which if you prefer that i support it, but do not interact with my blog as im basing everything on a rewritten POV with the entire intent to overhaul the AU without being too different or too similar.
What about the Underlust domain name?:
Lusttale CAN be called Underlust, BUT i prefer Lusttale to separate it as its alot easier, HOWEVER i have no issue with it being called Underlust! (Just still please credit/tag me, id love to see any content!)
What about fan AUs or others who make their own Variants?:
Keep going! I support these ten fold. Ive seen so many creative AUs overall, including a recent aroace one that has such adorable designs and is why i want to refresh myself and explain this blog to anyone new who might mistake me as a fan account. If you want to consider your variant a version/variant of my Rewritten AU, please tag me! Id love to see your AUs, your Varaints, EVERYTHING!!
HOWEVER. I do NOT support a single soul who ever uses my AU for Frans, Fontcest, or akin. Dont tag me OR interact with me, its public knowledge how the community feels about those, and im one of the many who don't like that content and wish for my AU to not be used in it. Self inserts, OC/Y/N x Lusttale, or etc is the same, id love to see it!!
What about Swaplust/Lustfell/AUs?:
Swaplust is also inactive: I have had my own interpretation of Swaplust since i found the AU when it was first made, Lustfell however i dont know, if its requested i will create something but i dont want to just claim every Lust AU out there. Not saying im claiming ownership of Swaplust, im saying that the Swaplust i want to make will be considered canon AU and it will be the ONLY Underlust AU i will ever claim, Swaplust has the same exact permissions. (Swaplust too had a very close Frans suggested ship, that is my reason for it)
To clarify if needed, im not forcing the view of me owning the AU onto every Underlust created content, im just saying if you yourself, the community, support what i do, i will continue, hence why i say tag me! I love to see it!
What about headcanons/outdated info like Sans being shorter?:
RN, Sans is the same size as Gaster Sans (i think 5' something?) however im fine with people drawing him short! ^^
Head-canons are also fully fine!!! Tell me any you think of, id love to hear. As long as you respect that i have my own plans, id be overjoyed to read whatever you guys think of or have.
So, to sum it up, Underlust has had a MIA owner since 2019/2020. Because of the history, and the way its loved, its a massive honor if i could step up and help give the community a AU with a solid backstory, solid characters with fleshed out personalities, and a structured plot that will replace something that was/is beloved. The best i can explain it, is my goal is to structure the AU but still keep support for the community as the AU was indeed considered Fandom Owned, again, you do not have to support me wanting to claim it, just do not bash me for it, as im absolutely not considering Lusttale a variant or AU, im considering Lusttale canon.
Questions are welcomed, if you have any concerns i can also explain! (Anon/Off Anon preferred so i can have it be public accessible incase others have the same questions)

Tarot Reading Number 6 :
I wanted a reading around my relationship with my future husband. How will it be or whatever might come up. Specifically i wanted to know when will I meet him? I've been single for decades actually. So I wonder sometimes maybe there is no love for me in this lifetime.
Present Situation:
The Hermit
• Interpretation: The Hermit indicates that you are currently in a phase of deep introspection and solitude. You are seeking answers within yourself and perhaps spending more time alone than usual. This period is essential for your spiritual growth and understanding of your true desires and needs in a relationship. It suggests that you are focusing on self-discovery, which is a crucial step before embarking on a new relationship.
• Advice: Embrace this time for reflection and inner growth. Use it to clarify what you want in a partner and a relationship. This inner work will help you attract a more compatible and fulfilling relationship in the future.
Immediate Challenge:
The Five of Pentacles
• Interpretation: The Five of Pentacles often represents feelings of isolation, financial struggle, or emotional lack. You may be feeling abandoned, left out in the cold, or worried that you will not find love. These feelings can create a barrier to attracting a healthy relationship.
• Advice: Work on healing these feelings of scarcity and lack. Surround yourself with supportive friends and family who can help you feel more connected and valued. Consider seeking professional help if these feelings are overwhelming.
Distant Past:
The Lovers
• Interpretation: The Lovers card suggests that you have experienced deep and meaningful connections in the past. This may have set high standards for what you seek in a partner. These past relationships have significantly influenced your current views and expectations of love.
• Advice: Reflect on these past relationships to understand what worked and what didn’t. Use these insights to inform your future choices in partners, but also ensure that you are not holding onto unrealistic expectations.
Recent Past:
The Nine of Swords
• Interpretation: The Nine of Swords indicates recent anxiety and worry, particularly about your love life. You may have been plagued by doubts, fears, and negative thoughts about whether you will ever find a partner.
• Advice: Acknowledge these fears but do not let them control you. Practice mindfulness or other stress-relief techniques to manage your anxiety. Focus on positive affirmations and visualize the type of relationship you want to attract.
Best Outcome:
The Empress
• Interpretation: The Empress symbolizes abundance, nurturing, and creativity. The best possible outcome for you is to find a relationship filled with love, care, and mutual growth. This card suggests that you will find a partner who cherishes and nurtures you, leading to a fulfilling and abundant relationship.
• Advice: Cultivate an environment of love and care in your own life. Engage in activities that make you feel nurtured and loved. This will help attract a partner who embodies these qualities.
Immediate Future:
The Wheel of Fortune
• Interpretation: The Wheel of Fortune signifies change, cycles, and destiny. In the immediate future, expect significant changes that will lead you toward meeting your future husband. This card indicates that the timing is largely out of your control, as fate will play a role in bringing you together.
• Advice: Be open to changes and new opportunities. Stay positive and trust that the universe is working in your favor. Your path to meeting your future husband may involve unexpected events or shifts in your life.
Internal Influence:
The Four of Cups
• Interpretation: The Four of Cups represents a sense of dissatisfaction and a focus on what is missing rather than what is present. You might be so preoccupied with what you lack in your love life that you are overlooking potential opportunities around you.
• Advice: Shift your focus to appreciate the good things in your life. Practice gratitude and remain open to new experiences and people. This change in perspective can help you recognize and seize new opportunities for love.
External Influence:
The Two of Cups
• Interpretation: The Two of Cups is a powerful card of partnership, mutual attraction, and harmonious relationships. This suggests that there is a strong potential for a meaningful relationship in your external environment. Someone who shares your values and emotional connection may already be in your life or will soon enter it.
• Advice: Be open to forming new connections and deepening existing ones. Engage in social activities where you can meet like-minded people. Pay attention to those around you who exhibit qualities you admire in a partner.
Hopes and Fears:
The Ace of Cups
• Interpretation: The Ace of Cups represents new beginnings in love and emotional fulfillment. You hope for a deep, meaningful connection that brings joy and happiness. However, you might also fear being vulnerable and the possibility of emotional pain.
• Advice: Embrace the potential for new love with an open heart. While vulnerability can be scary, it is also necessary for forming deep and meaningful connections. Trust that opening yourself up to new experiences will bring positive outcomes.
Final Outcome:
The Ten of Pentacles
• Interpretation: The Ten of Pentacles signifies long-term stability, security, and family. This card suggests that your future with your husband will be marked by prosperity and lasting commitment. You will build a solid foundation together, leading to a happy and stable life.
• Advice: Focus on building a strong foundation for yourself now, both emotionally and financially. This will prepare you for a stable and fulfilling relationship when it comes. Trust that the future holds long-term happiness and security for you.
Timing and Summary
The reading suggests that you are on a transformative journey towards meeting your future husband. The Wheel of Fortune indicates that significant changes and opportunities will arise soon, potentially within the next year. This time of introspection (The Hermit) is preparing you for a fulfilling relationship marked by abundance and stability (The Empress and Ten of Pentacles).
While you may have doubts and fears (Nine of Swords, Ace of Cups), shifting your focus to gratitude (Four of Cups) and staying open to new connections (Two of Cups) will help attract the right person. Embrace the changes coming your way and trust that the universe is guiding you towards a loving and lasting relationship.

Unit 4: Nature interpretation through art
For as long as I can remember, I've always appreciated the beauty of our world and overall had a more artistic and observant view of the world. On road trips with my family to our trailer, for the entire three to four hours, I would look outside my window to the sky and with whatever clouds there were, I would imagine what shape they closely resembled and would create intricate stories based on the movement of the clouds, any other shapes it took on and the other clouds around it (which would take on side character roles or help the plot thicken). Lucky for me, I have very patient parents who always pushed me to share my creativity, so throughout the whole car ride, I'd share what I was interpreting from the clouds with the entire car. As mentioned in Chapter 5 of our textbook (page 90), Interpreters also help their audience gain new perspectives or a new view and understanding of something they hadn't given much thought to before; I feel like slowly in my life, I've been developing this skill naturally, this being the first memory of it. I've always loved to look at nature from an artistic and creative point of view, and as I've grown into a more spiritual/religious appreciation of the world, as mentioned in my first blog, it's given me much more profound gratitude and mindfulness. In addition to this, being a biology major and having much experience being in nature and observing it from both a scientific and artistic view allows me to "find patterns within apparent chaos." as mentioned in the same chapter and page of our textbook, to be able to interpret nature through art.
The way I interpret the "Gift of Beauty," is a way of introducing mindfulness and higher awareness to an audience. When we don't see the beauty in nature and its small intricacies, like organisms and ecosystems, which make it a whole, we ignore them and often forget about them. Additionally, in our society today, the world is built to constantly distract you from being in the present moment. Stressors, such as social media, financial issues, jobs and school/school work, are all things that often take up a majority of our time and thoughts, and we become swept up in everything else that we forget to acknowledge many gifts in life, one being nature and its psychological powers.
To have available areas of nature you can visit is a gift in itself, as you can always rely on the stillness of the forest or the tranquillity of hearing the sounds of the river to take a moment and do nothing but observe the beauty of how nature works as one. For those who don't understand how to be present with nature and mindful of the space they're in, this may seem boring, but once mastering this skill, you can use it to its full advantage to reduce levels of stress and increase gratitude and happiness (Alexandros Argyriadis et al., 2024). Keeping all of this in mind, I believe a good interpreter has the gift to present the beauty of nature in such a manner that allows their audience to understand this message, yet be able to conclude it on their own to truly feel spiritually uplifted and want to fight for the preservation of these spaces overall.

I have a bunch of questions. You can ignore them or entertain them.
1. How has your view of Jensen changed after the prequel gate or do you think he was always like that and we failed to notice it?
2. Do you think a spn reboot will happen? Do you want it to happen?
3. Do you think Jared wants a spn reboot or he just simply entertains the idea at cons?
4. Do you want that rumoured Nova project to be true? I want it if Jared wants it😁
5. Was excluding Jared from the prequel deliberate or a miscalculation on jensen's part?
Hey Anon,
Sorry I couldn't answer the ask earlier. It is a festive week for us, so it's quite busy. Got a downtime now, so I thought of catching up on tumblr action. I'm glad I did because these are quite interesting questions.
Since these are different questions, I am dividing it into two post otherwise it will be a long post. I will answer reboot question in this post, and in the next post, I will talk about J2 prequelgate and Nova.
DO YOU THINK SPN REBOOT WILL HAPPEN? DO YOU WANT IT TO HAPPEN? DO YOU THINK JARED WANTS SPN REBOOT....
Well, Anon ... SPN is an IP (intellectual property) of WB, and in today's market, owning an IP is like owning gold. Just the way you can repurporse gold in various shapes and form, Studios can repurpose IPs. The moment studio feels that they have managed to build enough nostalgic sentiments around SPN , and if they feel their is a need for supernatural drama that can instantly attract the audience on their network. They will experiment with reboot.
Also, this is my personal opinion, if we look at the shows that were produced a decade and compare it to today, I feel there is a fatigue setting in. The constant race of churning shows on an almost daily basis on different platforms is hampering creativity, making it monotonous and formulaic. If something works with the audience, everyone is running to create similar stuff. And I feel for networks breaking the mold equals rehashing their old classics. So sooner or later, SPN REBOOT will happen.
Does Jared want to do Reboot, or is he appeasing fans? Frankly, I don't know what Jared wants, so I can only speculate. I feel SPN is his show, so he would like to be part of it in some form or another and that too on his term. When he started SPN, he was an upcoming actor, so he had to accept whatever was offered, but now he has experience and in a position where he can negotiate his own contract and put forth his own terms.
Also, SPN reboot is a set income for at least a year. Denying/rejecting it would not be a wise decision for any actor (when offered), and for someone at Jared position, it would also mean residuals. Remember Jared sacrificed two of his holidays and adjusted two days of his SPN shoot just so he can feature in the reboot of Gilmore Girls. Not just income, but reboot is also about a prestige and nostalgia for an actor.
Will it happen right now. I don't think so. For now, Jared is keeping the show alive within the audience as it got other businesses, namely merchandise and cons associated with it. Also, him outright saying no will kill the buzz around the show, and the toxic part of the fandom will immediately blame him. In the end, it is all about marketing and maintaining an image/ brand.
Lastly, Do I want it to happen?
Immediately, No. I think SPN as a series has run it course. Now, it's time for it to marinate in its success. It is like cooking meat. Meat without marination isn't as juicy as it is when it's marinated for hours. So I think SPN needs to just rest without anyone disturbing its legacy anymore.
And when it is ready for reboot, I want it to be done by someone who has seen the entire seasons and understands the core of the series. I don't want someone who wants a piece of social media traction or appease to a certain section of social media just to get the clout. A good reboot can only be made if the creator stays true the story and character without having any agenda.
I am ending the post here as it is getting long...will answer the rest in the second post

this is probably going to be an unpopular opinion, but some of you seriously need to relax and shut the fuck up about rpf.
i've seen an increasing amount of people in the hermitcraft and life series fandoms with "not the real people" in their pinned who seem to act like they're somehow better than those who do create/consume rpf. and you guys seriously need to get off your high horse right the fuck now and realise that when properly tagged and not forced on anyone, rpf hurts no one. and this goes for all art that commonly gets looked down on in this fandom, darkfic and non con and kinkfics and whatever else. if something is fictional, if it's properly tagged, if it's not forced on anyone - it hurts no one because it's fiction. more than that, it's art. you cannot and should not place boundaries on creativity. not only does that kind of thinking have serious real life consequences that i won't go into right now, but even within fandom spaces all you will end up doing is hurting the very people you often claim to want to protect.
most of the time i've seen this kind of attitude, it's been exhibited by younger people. and i would just like to remind you - you know how you can admit to writing fics and not be criticised and shamed for it? you know how fanfiction is a widely spread and common thing now? you know how nowadays you don't need to put an "i don't own x" disclaimer in your fic? yeah, the rpf people helped do that. obviously i can't speak for every community as i am just one person in my own tiny corner of the globe, but part of what helped me come to think of fanfic as something normal and not something i had to hide was getting used to the idea of rpf. it was frerard and those fics where someone gets sold to one direction and the normalisation of the 14 year old girl writing fanfics where she marries her crush and has three kids.
you people seem to view rpf as this big disgusting thing that god forbid anyone thinks i engage in or condone. and it makes me think of how i would write fanfiction about my swimmates and show it to them, and we'd all laugh about it. when i was a kid i would imagine myself being friends with celebrities and create fictional problems for them so i could provide emotional support. i still, on occasion, hyperfixate on real people and imagine myself interacting with them somehow. in fact, most of the time in my own head is spent daydreaming about various made-up situations including people i know or used to know, because that is simply how i deal with the real world, my form of escapism and just something i do to keep my messy brain occupied. what i'm getting at here is that rpf is normal. it's not this big awful sin. there is literally nothing remarkable whatsoever about the idea that someone would see something in real life and be inspired to turn it to art.
you get nothing from throwing other people also part of your community under the bus when there are those who would get rid of you all. you get nothing from being a dick, from spreading shame and disgust and assigning moral weight to things that cause zero harm. your knee-jerk reaction at something that makes you uncomfortable is not the end all be all of what's right and what deserves to exist. so i pray you, get over yourself, stop acting like you're better than everyone else and shut the fuck up about rpf.
#anyway some of my most favourite fics were rpf and one of them has since been deleted#and i have an idea as to why#so cut it out with being a dick to people over what they create. please#hermitcraft#hermitblr#hermitcraft smp#traffic smp#traffic series#life series#trafficblr#and since this could go for any mcyt fandom in general#mcyt#mcytblr#textdisaster

just dropping in to offer you some motivation, because i totally get art slumps (i just left a 3 yr long one *gasp*). if you’re feeling lost creatively but also like you’re lacking the support you need to keep going, remind yourself that art is supposed to make you happy! draw for yourself, take a break, do whatever you need to step back and view your creations less as “content” for others to consume and more as something that brings you joy to make. and if you ever feel like people don’t care about your content, who cares! post anyways! if you love what you make, people will see that and become interested, but what’s really important is that you feel fulfilled. everything you make has value, always. it’s hard getting past self-deprecation, but if you ever need motivation or want to share your ideas, my dms are open, dude👍
The issue is that I've *tried* to do this. I'm not creatively blocked or anything. A matter of fact, I haven't had art block in... Years. I have a plethora of ideas and there's always new ones I'm creating. And of course, I do enjoy art as well. Buuuuut, I've also been doing it for years only to see the same consistent thing in small fandoms: everyone else has more interesting stuff, they get tons and tons of support, I do everything to satisfy the audience and bring in this following, but literally nothing seems to work because it's all just pointing to, "your art just isn't all that". And it's even worse in large fandoms because that's basically just nothingness lmfao. Haven't been in one in ages though
I'm not gonna stop drawing. But I also can't help that I'm extremely social and want my art to be viewed by others. Humans as a species thrive off community so when there's a lack of that within their space, they tend to feel down. I have no clue what issue it could be other than what I proposed, because small fandom algorithms are non existent. You basically see it all if you're a fandom member. I've tried everything to garner support on things and it's all just. Nothing. I never get the kind of support I've seen my friends here get for the past 2 years, and I'm getting hate mail often about my work. Not to mention the shit talk I get from people.
I mean, hell, you literally just joined (back) and you've got a better following than me. You've managed to get all this attention because your art is just simply amazing. I can't get that. It's sucky knowing everything has pointed to me not being good enough to amass such a following despite how hard I try and how confident I can feel about my skills sometimes.
Once again, I'm not gonna quit or shit like that. I'm well aware that I gotta do it for my own joy and I *do*. But a child is gonna be a little upset if they notice they're showing the same group of people their art that their peers are, yet their peers get so many more "so cute!"s when they get one when lucky, regardless of the child's enjoyment of having drawn it. The same goes for any time of small community where notice isn't dictated by an algorithm due to lack of size. It's the same few people, but the same few people always prefer the talent as one might expect. I don't have what they're looking for. Just a little sad, is all.

(Sending good vibes 🔆🌻)
Real Writer Asks
Aww how sweet. Right back at you Anon!
🍉in what ways has writing helped you process trauma and/or navigate through your own life?
Interesting ask this one is. Because I feel like I'm the kind of person who hasn't used fic for trauma processing. Yet I know that isn't fully true, either. I definitely incorporate some of my own life experiences into my fics, and as a reader, have sought out media with topics I find too difficult to take to a table IRL. But I also spent over 20 years in therapy so I was lucky enough to have that space. I could say that, much like when I'm a player character in a video game, writing men in particular has helped me tremendously with the long, uphill battle of being trans. But I don't actually write trans characters that much. I feel as if perhaps I prefer the point where all the negotiating aspect is gone, and I can just fully embrace the final package. Fully-formed men or, whatever you want to call it. I am an incredibly intense daydreamer, for instance. I talk to myself regularly, I am constantly finding myself in a daze. Fantasizing. Looking at things in reality and being reminded of the media I enjoy. I am a creative, but I can struggle to stay consistent. Writing is a constant in my life. And one that has provided an outlet in so many ways. I've made brief mentions of the incident before. How in a huge fit of mental breakdown I wiped all my creative works (My original AO3 works, my tumblr, live journal etc) from the world. I did this all within days of my inpatient admission to the hospital, and when I came out of it realized I'd just dumped a huge portion of things I'd created over years of hard work and friend interaction out the door. I erased a large part of myself when I did that. And have promised myself no matter how bad it gets, I am never-ever doing that again. It is not worth it. But I acknowledge I wasn't thinking clearly, either. That I was in a place where my head was nowhere on earth; and the decisions I made that night. Offline and online, were a sign of something bigger. Beyond me. Art, creativity, outlets. These are so important in our world. But everyone gets something different out of it. I have been writing fanfic since I was 17. I'm now 32. Huge parts of my personal growth have come with writing, and some of my life events took place around it. That's crazy to think about sometimes.
💌share something with us about an up-and-coming work (WIP) that has you excited!
Sure! You can have some snippets of this BBKaz fic I'm writing right now that is from BB's POV. I almost never write BB, and never his point of view because I find him so hard to write. So I feel like, for once, I'm developing some confidence about doing so. Which is exciting. He feels almost obtainable to write out for me and I'm excited to see how I do and how it comes across.
Tidbit's Below Cut:
“An enemy, a friend. Incapacitate, when possible, Jack. Just because we have strengths does not mean we need to abuse them.” But she was wrong, wasn’t she? She was the deadliest force he’d ever known. How true. How easy. They’d have turned on him. Against the pile, the thick cloy of blood, John listens for the kick of weak feet up ahead. The tallest man of the lots sagging hard. From his vantage point, glancing down his smoldering barrel, John can make out that bright blonde hair. Matted, sticking to his scalp from blood, mud, and trickles of tissue from a comrade or two. His men. The ones John slaughtered in the counted heartbeats charging up his lungs. Three broken fingers scramble for a nearby machete, John takes a leisurely stride. “You’re lost, Commander.” He knows the man speaks English. The contract hinted at it. Aviators, cracked with John’s own wild-mane hair, blood-stained cheeks in their reflection slip down a haughty nose. “Then kill me!” such an odd voice. High pitched, scratchy. Incredibly, the man continues to make demands, “The machete, take it. Cut off my head!” Intrigued, John wanders towards it. Steps over the crumpled form of the man’s deceased second in command. Feels the strong heft and weight in his calloused palm. One of the man’s hands is defiantly held under his back, John only manages to catch a tell-tale grip on something round and solid, clearly bumpy in that fumbling grip. Complete, utter defiance. A trick up his sleeve. Bastardized hope reaches into the deep crevice in his hollow heart. A sudden burst of CPR adrenaline thick. Water in his desert. Light in his tunnel. “I don’t think so.” John thrusts the machete up, pushing the flat of the blade hard against the man’s side. Sends those shattered frames to ground as he rolls him to brace on his hip. Pins his wrist with that threatening edge, digs into those fine, tender bones and new blood coats it’s shiny-dented steel. His captive thrashes, whines with angry fear when John leans over him, wiggling the grenade he wrenches free of his palm in his face. Face to face with a cracked skull inches away, the Commander sneers, sputters. “It was a good try.” John’s breath stumbles as he wraps an arm about the captive’s throat, imagines a man with such fire. Such pride. Clever and desperate.

Installation shots of my exhibition ‘Love fulfilled’ with Carlos/Ishikawa in London.
Love fulfilled
Painting has always fascinated me in how it has the possibility to represent, change and guide the way how people would observe their world. It is a tool of materialising an individual’s way of perceiving their “objective” reality. And by depicting it as their set definition (at least as an attempt). I think it visually influences— and has influenced— people more than we think.
For example, I don’t think we have an idea about how influential those prehistoric cave drawings must have been in the evolution of our consciousness. I can imagine that the first humans perceiving those murals invoked an awareness of concept in them. It started out with basic depictions like trees, the moon, sun, hunt, sex, death, etc… and this conceptualisation of our physical world into images and logos, caused by the acknowledgement of those facets of life, must have been a major step in the evolution of consciousness because of this.
Of course, the creation of those murals probably originated out of some form of function or practicality within these proto-societies/communities. But that’s the beauty of it, that its creation by these individuals probably functioned to unite and socialise a group of people into a community.
By saying this, I am not trying to eulogise painting as some high form of art or anything (because clearly it is also not the sole way of expressing our world). But today I hope it can do a somewhat similar thing by functioning as a unique glimpse into a person’s perception and world view. A perception that hopefully could unite (in the social space; a gallery)— and most ideally inspire some people, who feel an affinity towards this individualistic way of perceiving our shared reality.
In essence, painting for me is a depiction of life and exteriorisation of the intimate being, a display of interests, in whatever way one wants to express and visualise theirs. Influenced by a perpetual stream of consciousness, a great river of contents in a succession of different conditions which I have been taught to call thoughts, images, memories, interior dialogues, regrets, wishes, resolves, all interweaving with the constantly changing pageant of exterior sensations of which I am selectively aware.
Filmmaking is a medium for which I have always had a strong affinity, and towards its possibilities of visualising our world’s narrative. For me it is an endless source of inspiration out of our image cultus. I think what attracts me most is the possibility to depict movement— because painting is frustratingly anti-kinematic and portraying movement on a canvas is something that rarely translates well. The possibility to think in movement and dynamics with film have been a new spark for my creative thinking about imagery and storytelling.
The tools of the filmmaking process has seeped in into the painting vocabulary because of my own personal search in how to facilitate this as a way of expressing my perception or interests. As a continuation on this family legacy (I am a descendant of a sculptor’s family of five generations), I manipulate their hoarded information (this physical materialisation of a memory; sculptures, objects, ornaments, etc.), to collate, classify, compose, and sort it in order to create new ideas, or maybe deconstruct old ones, into painting imagery and storytelling— and as an addition to it, filmmaking has become an entity inside its vernacular.
‘Love fulfilled’ is a title of which I hope that it “speaks” to the mind’s eye. It is an attempt to give the viewer of the exhibition a set directive. Which is intended to cause a search for meaning onto the visual vocabulary, setting verbs in motion and turning sensations into metaphors by inviting us to live it figuratively. Like logos to perception— because of course, every painting has a personal intention, but I do hope that an individual’s mind makes more of it than what the limitations of its figuration depicts.
This title was chosen because of how I feel about it; that it is like a sentimental lie. Its wording could announce romance and as well desperation. Desperate because when will a love ever be fulfilled? Perhaps only when it is looked at one from a future life?
And that’s what I hoped to achieve by adding this marble sculpture of a heart, carefully placed in side a rope nest on top of a Flemish Art Deco carpet. I want to invoke the feeling that this assembly was found and not created, to insinuate the impression of observing, or reminiscing, from a distance towards a life lived.
Anyway, this former life I then imagined, interweaved with elements of my own- and staged in the convenient interior setting of my studio space.
Please take note that whatever I write about the works, there is never an intention for me to give an absolute reasoning or meaning about its narration — ideally they invoke a quest in the spectator’s mind space onto a search for meaning and structure by the own’s associative reading and thinking of the painting.

Gentle reminders for the literature folk
"Oh! Trigger Warnings are an attack on my autonomy as an author" it's not. Really, it's an information you give your audience so they can protect themselves on a fragile momment. It means some people will opt out, it doesn't mean they are censoring your work. The content it's still there, and many will view it.
"But the audience is questioning the need for that scene on the work-" as is theyr right. Once you publish your work, those who view it will have opinios on it. The ones that are respectfully sharing that opinion are well within the lines of the author-viewer dynamic. And that's ok! Criticism is not the end of the world! Allow yourself to reflect on your work and maybe - just maybeee - change the way you see/do it.
Art's autonomy, just like freedom of speech, it's the liberty to do your thing, say what you have to, create your art without guidelines or fear of legal persecution for your fiction. It is NOT the exemption from criticism or responses from your espectador. On the artistic side, you can do whatever you want, share what and if you want, knowing that people will interpret and understand it from their view point. And again, that's ok. That's the magic of creative work, of art, once shared, it's a communication. Be respectful, ignore those who aren't and keep an open mind.
Criticism and censorship are worlds apart. Belive me. I don't know about the rest of the world's experience with it, but look up any Brazilian artists from the 60's and 70's. Read 1984, do a Google search, I don't know. It's very, very different. Artists have changed a lot soldiering through nonsensical critics.
And finally, literature does not exist on a vacuum. Yes, your work it's fictional, it shouldn't be analysed by reality standards but by it's own internal rules. But, that doesn't mean you are not sharing a world view. Even if it's through irony, through metaphor, through the voice of those you want to criticize, it's there. Sometimes authors glamorize certain things, sometimes they demonize certain actions. Sometimes their opinion on a certain topic will be visible. And since there is no canonic rules given to you by your peers, no structure that had to be followed or else, (aka author's autonomy), readers will assume that's on you. Oh well. If it isn't the consequences of your own autonomous actions. Stand for what you believe, clarify any misunderstandings and follow along.
(I know I said finally but) TAKE EVERYTHING THE ACADEMY SAYS WITH A GRAIN OF SALT. THEY ARE NOT THE VOICE OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC JUST LIKE THE PROFESSIONAL CRITICTS AREN'T EITHER.
Keep that in mind and keep writing what you love :) your desire to create will meet the desires of those who wants to connect with your art. It always will, when done with love and honesty. Keep going
Edited because I was angry with my Literature Analysis's teacher and her weird takes on author's autonomy the time I post it
