#Not to be dramatic lmao and it's probably just burnout but i am SO tempted to quit making BTCT altogether :/#I've been working on it for like... idk 2.5+ years now? and i'm just... t i r ed#also it's not like i'm even monetizing it atm. I'm literally just making it in my spare time (for free) and#I don't suspect it would do well if i Tried to monetize it again#and it's far Far too time consuming to continue if i choose to not monetize it#which is why lately i've been feeling like it would be better if I just.. quit making it entirely.#which would suck bc i love the story and the characters but at the same time i feel like it's just not worth continuing?#idk maybe i just have a case of burnout and imposter syndrome lol but#it feels pointless to continue?#I want an art career. And I need to earn more money.#but... i've kinda lost hope that it could be by/through making webcomics#or at least this webcomic#funky's personal tag#i say all this as if i'm not Just About to wrap up the first season production lol#i have like 1-2 more episodes left of season 1 to finsih#maybe i'll just finish making season one and Then call it quits#although season 1 ends on a cliff hanger so that would probably be pretty mean of me LOL

#in our enclosures!!#video linked as source; which i'm glad to see already has a million views and is trending. That's Right#lackadaisy#WHICH i have been reading since at least '07 when i was thirteen my god b/c this animation is based on the ongoing webcomic#like does its influence show up Directly in some Discrete way i can point to in my art? not very easily probably. And Yet.#the inspiration....i wasn't able to be Regularly Only for at least another year / art done Nonprofessionally Online was novel to me#like wow ppl can make & post fanart of w/e they love huh....didn't know webcomics were a thing & i never really read that many since but.#good god the quality of Lackadaisy at its onset is like this is superb?? this person putting in all their talent and effort???#and Then you get years & years more art and i don't even know what superlatives to throw out abt its quality as it evolves. obsessed w/it..#if i see a new lackadaisy comic page i Will be acting out. obviously this animation is a delight & also stunning. and fascinating to also#juxtapose as a Translation / Interpretation of the comic in a different medium & standalone snippet of Story#and that we're not even quite there in the comic timeline; Taking Notes abt character info we get distilledly here....genuinely love like#take it back to '07 i'm like oh boy can't wait for the dream team to assemble. then a decade later when it did? Oh Boy. that is payoff lol#namely hooray for stitches and mudbug at the field office for every passing gangster. killing one marigold associate but not the other#which seems like a promising start to shootouts w/the other dream team triumvirate. i adore that in canon so far mordecai freckle & rocky#have met but only over a nice brunch. re: all intentions anyways. anyways i'm like Gifs Must Be Made while i'm also so riled afresh abt the#comic that i've been sooo hype for for over fifteen yrs now babeyyy Deservedly. i've done a couple of rereads & ought to do another....#For Interest it'd probably take a few sittings to catch up from the start but there is much to be engaged over....this ongoing story that's#historical fiction prohibition bootlegging cats with plenty of focus on characters & several Mysteries. which i'm better at parsing now lol#like one of the more recent rereads like Oh Of Course x (probably) accidentally killed his y & z took the fall & that's a binding secret...#Not [oh of course] abt the circumstances surrounding a's death & how b & c were involved. nor the ''what's marigold's damage'' mystery#which is great. love to not know things. love that we can readily follow all the emergent drama everyone's wading in nowadays. hell yeah#anyways admire my organized approach to gifs here. four shots each Expressions Atmosphere Action Groupshots#sure might've muddled through gifmaking for this anyways but fr being a huge lackadaisy comic enjoyer for now most of my life helps#and its very Overall Inspiration like. just really getting the [you can really just draw stuff out here] going. fr the art's detail & skill#and that enrichment like i'm gonna have a great time following this. And I Have#you don't expect a crowdfunded indie animation in the mix back then but hell yeah fellas#SIGH ok removing a 4th gif that's broken / not displayed despite reuploading then entirely remaking it. if it's a bug i'll try again later

so i think tungl has increased the frequency with which you see blazed posts, and i’m starting to realize that there is a shockingly large and/or loaded portion of this site’s userbase that is still trapped in 2014
#things i have seen blazed include:#at least 6 YA novels pitched as lists of tropes#multiple pieces of unironic superwholock fanart#two webcomics that are blatantly adapted from the creator’s D&D campaign#and artwork of dan and phil as the robot bear and bunny from five fuckers at uncle fester’s#(i still do not know who dan and phil are)

Holly & Macy November 2024 BIG Progress Update!!
Hi, everyone! I've written up a fairly exhaustive progress update about the status of Holly & Macy and Everyone Else. You can read the whole thing (and view the included pictures) on my Patreon. The Patreon post is public, so you do not need to be a member of my Patreon to view it. It should be available for free to everyone. I'll very briefly summarize the main points below. The gist of it is:
Holly & Macy will officially resume weekly updates starting Wednesday January 29th 2025. From then on, the comic will update on Wednesdays at 11am PST. That’s 1pm CST, 2 hours later than the previous update time.
ALSO I am open for commissions right now! I��ve joined an artist collective raising funds to help Shimaa’s family in Gaza. If you donate to Shimaa’s gofundme, you can get some lovely art from me in exchange! More information about how this works, the vetting process, and the participating artists can be found via our carrd. If you have further questions, you can also reach out to my good friend Matty (@maddzroks) who is spearheading this project. At the time of writing, I have 2 slots open for commissions. Let’s do our best to help Shimaa and her family out!

man i remember when nevermore first came out i was sad it was so underrated.. but now after all the drama, i wish it had stayed underrated, because a big fanbase (especially one with a lot of minors) ALWAYS brings drama
#not saying red didn't fuck up. they definitely did#but i do think this has been blown way out of proportion#and it seems more of a case of someone making a mistake and then people escalating it#classic case of people jumping the gun and trying to make it into a black-and-white situation#and thinking making mistakes make someone into a horrible irredeemable person.#even though everyone makes mistakes#honestly this is why official fandom discords should start making themselves 18+ or at least 16+ imo. to avoid all of this#anyway im not leaving the fandom. if i had to leave a fandom for every drama blown out of proportion that comes up#then i couldnt be in anything#bro ive been in fandom for years. ive seen this kind of stuff happen plenty of times and its always the same.#it always seems like such a big deal at the time. then a few years later you look back at it and think ''oh yeah this was so dumb''#honestly this is more of the norm than the exception. which is also why i think the drama is so tiring#im just currently taking a break from it for unrelated reasons (currently not hyperfixating on it. will come back when hyperfixation return#nevermore#webcomic#nevermore webtoon#i just hope the comic doesnt go under because of this#best case scenario the fandom gets smaller and hopefully less toxic

Anyone who knows me knows how meaningful and personal this is to me. You can call it obsessive or passionate either works but either way its important. I said I would start from scratch and redo it all and if this is the only way I can, no matter how hard it will be, its what I'll do. It will be rocky I'm not very good at coding I am doing my best and learning as I go, there will be mistakes. Everything apart from the chapter select on mobile is how it should be mechanically and visually I hope. There are 43 pages as of now, when you are ready press START.
