Let it be said that someone breaking into Arkham Asylum was not something anyone was expecting. And let it be said that if one was to ever try it, they all- guards, residents, and doctors alike- would think they would be breaking in to break someone out. 

They are not in fact, expecting a child to be running through the halls giggling with everyone failing in catching him. Someone catch the child before he gets hurt or somehow makes it to the isolation ward! The joker is in there!

Danny is honestly having fun. Ms. Arkham- Gotham’s own Gatekeeper and daughter- is really fun! Sure he’d rather she not view the people within her walls as dolls and playthings, but he supposes she’s not exactly harming anyone. And honestly she could hold on tighter to a few of them to prevent them from escaping in his opinion. 

But he’s here to spend time with his new ghostly Aunt, not judge her, so he’s going to get the whole tour! Secret tunnels you say? Oh, a graveyard, inside your walls? That’s amazing! Isolation ward? Ah, where the naughty dolls go, makes sense! 

Well of course he wants to see it, lead the way!

Something I havent seen mentioned before, but Naomi is ruthless when she needs to be. It doesn't show up often, but it does first show up in the parking garage with Splat, when she compliments him, gets his guard down, and then tears the wires stitched into his cheek out.

Also in the fight at her house. A man comes at her with a gun, she asks him to back down from the other side of a door, and when he says he can't, she shoots him through the door. Too bad about the vest, but she does not hesitate to use violence when talking has failed and danger is imminent.

Talking is always her first choice, but violence, even potentially lethal violence, remains an option.

Saw Mouthwashing last night and damn. Love to get the horrors of what I've become violently spat back in my face.

Yeah.

I can imagine he feels the same way and that's why he dotes on me and does what he does--to try to make me happy.

But maybe it's just as much for him, too. I'm softer like that. More like how we were before everything went wrong. Maybe it makes him feel like we didn't lose anything. Maybe he doesn't like that I'm unable to set the guilt aside when he's trying so so hard to, so he makes it so I'll at least shut up about it.

I don't mind being whatever he wants me to be. If he likes me better small, then I'll happily stay that way. I can at least do that much for him.

I just wish he didn't need me...

That's a lie.

It's more like I wish he wouldn't keep me around to torture himself all the time. I don't mind being needed. I like being needed.

But as much as he needs me, my very presence is a constant reminder of what happened. Of what I did to him and where we are now. He doesn't like it, pretends that I don't, makes me softer so it hurts less, but that doesn't stop it.

He doesn't deserve that.
