but now you were being called a slut. at this very moment, you were being called a slut and getting death threats. at the time, you were getting the same treatment.

it seemed his ex put the idea that he cheated on her with you, into everyones head. and they believed it. they believed it because of the stereotype against hockey players. the stereotype against girl best friends.

but that didn’t stop your relationship. you were so into it. you were there for everything, even his brothers… until you weren’t. it wasn’t like you both ended on bad terms. in fact, you both ended things, stating it was better to stay friends.

the only win from the whole situation was the fact he called you his favorite love. that you would always be the favorite.

i think its really unfair that there are certain people with a lot of connections in the hockey world. i dont have any and i deserve them, i know everything about players and care about them, and i know someone ((i think you do too based on your posts)) who knows pretty much everyone important at the devils, and the players, along with her other connections in the nhl. i just get so mad because shes such a normal hockey fan and doesnt worship the ground they walk on like me.

i know exactly who you’re talking about based on the wonderfulness of context clues, yes, but be honest with me: do you think this is a normal thing to say or be upset about? because, no offense, this is a little worrisome to read.

some people are born with connections at their fingertips, and some aren’t, and some people are naturally likeable (like her) and some are… not 🤷‍♀️ but girl… that’s life. maybe, just possibly, the people she knows like her because she doesn’t “worship the ground players walk on” or “know everything about a player.” it’s not a bad thing to be a “normal” appreciator of a sport.

plus, you have no idea if she “deserves” the connections and opportunities she has or not, and you shouldn’t spend time being angry at a grown woman for being able to do what she does and be able to connect with the hockey world. i promise you, girl, you’ll feel better if you let it go. your time to know players could come any day, okay? be positive, and breathe. 🧘‍♀️🧿🔮😁

OG anon here who sent the prev ask ☝️ cuz I wanna clarify some things in light of the couple of follow ups re: cheating.

When I say I don't care about someone cheating it's purely from the perspective of not being directly involved. Obviously if I were to get cheated on it would be a HUGE breach of trust and I would be hurt by it, but whatever drama it causes is purely between me and the other person. When it comes to any sort of celebrity, be it athletes or what have you, as a fan... I'm not going to consider it a moral failing if the person I'm a fan of cheats on their SO. I'm just not. To me that just indicates that a relationship isn't working and the people involved should probably break up, but like I said in the first post, public image and all that with hockey players. There's a reason over 70% of hockey players end up divorced after they retire: most of these guys aren't dating/marrying the people they truly want to be with during their career.

Again, and speaking as someone who is queer and non-white, I'm going to care more if that person is abusive or a bigot or a zionist or, you know, any number of actual morally reprehensible things, because to me that's what makes a person good or not. Not the status of their relationship.

The reality is that unless you're one of the wags who come on here to be nosy and insecure about their own relationships (please... ladies... live your life and stop caring lol you'll be so much happier), most of the people reading these gossip blogs are never going to meet these players and certainly aren't going to date them. You can still be a fan of a guy even if they cheat because it ultimately doesn't affect you personally. Which is I guess what I was trying to say all along lol. 🤷‍♀️

Okay so I need to know if there's anyone else who had this experience because it's been almost two months since it happened and I'm still unsure of what to make of it. 🧐 Late Feb I was followed on IG from an account that was either a) a Jeremy Swayman catfish; b) some kind of weird honeypot to catch puck bunnies trying to score with him; or c) his actual finsta. The account itself was private and had the same bio as his main, the same profile pic as his cameo account, 5 posts, around 25 followers, and was following over 120 people.

I never sent it a follow request back because I didn't trust that it wasn't fake, but I regret not grabbing a screenshot of it at the time because it kept changing names every day so I wasn't able to track it down after it unfollowed me a couple days later, I assume for not responding. I don't really interact with anything hockey related on Insta besides following a handful of players and official accounts, there's nothing on my profile that indicates I'm a hockey or Bruins fan, and I don't follow any other Bruins fans so I have NO idea how this account even found me, even if it was a catfish. The only thing I can think of is that if it WAS actually him, because it happened the same week the team had the Western Canada road trip (the account followed me on Sunday and unfollowed on Tuesday) and I live in the PNW so it could have been from a location tag. 🤔 So the timeline would track but even then I was ??? why me I'm not a model or tall or blonde or anything like what a player would typically go for.

Obviously I'm just some random anon so I'm not gonna be offended if people take this with a grain of salt (man I REALLY should have taken a screenshot 😂) but I need to know if anyone else had this happen to them because the whole thing was weird as hell and I don't wanna be the only one. Because yeah, either Sway has an impersonator running around IG catfishing people, it's a honeypot to catch bunnies (which is insane person behaviour ngl, speaking as someone who is very obviously NOT a puck bunny), OR he's got a finsta that is kept meticulously hidden and he's apparently secretly into openly queer art girls with weird-colored hair. Lol, lots of teams have WAGs-run Instagram pages. The Kraken and Blues both do, and they’re just the ones I remember.
