I’m genuinely getting so angry and upset at the comments and dms I’m receiving on Instagram being like “oh so when musicians and actors endorse Kamala it’s fine but when the president of the Fia endorses Trump it’s a problem?”
Like wow. It’s almost as if all art is a reflection of current events and culture as well as the feeling regarding them and can in fact be used as an act of protest. It’s crazy that any artist would express opinions about a current world shifting political event!
Like the thing you have to consider here is that Muhammad Ben Sulayem has consistently made a point to highlight that “politics have no place in this sport.” He has gone far enough to threaten to punish Lewis Hamilton for speaking out about BLM and also threatened Seb for speaking out about Pride. It’s also worth noting that the artists who endorsed Kamala are separate from the corporate entities and are speaking as individuals. MBS is speaking while he is the acting president of the FIA, an organization that represents ever y race creed and religion of the drivers. By endorsing Donald Trump, a rapist fascist and war criminal, and by posting a photo of them shaking hands in front of the McLaren Logo he has isolated his drivers! He has acted out in representation of the fia! He cannot separate himself from his role as FIA president because as long as he is on track or in the paddock he must be that.
Obviously this is a deeply complicated issue but acting as if MBS suddenly bring politics into the sport he has time and time again insisted “has no place in politics” isn’t deeply selfish, irresponsible and as if it hasn’t spit on everything some of the drivers, namely Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel have taken stands for. It’s very clear that politics are only allowed when it benefits his agenda but it’s very, very disappointing.

Yuki answers the question of whether he wants Daniel or Liam as his teammate
“No comments, but I’d say I’ve learnt a lot of things from Daniel. He’s probably one of the formula one drivers I respect the most. He’s very consistent [even after a bad race]. He never shows his frustration. He’s able to separate his mind. I’ve learnt a lot of things from Daniel.”

I just find it very interesting how the same people who are always talking about how important the mental health of drivers is and feel personally attacked when another driver even just alludes to their faves, turn around and defend their faves talking shit about others.
A whole ass witch hunt was started because Lance called Daniel an "idiot" directly after a crash on the radio, where emotions clearly run high. Meanwhile he's been called slurs by other drivers and is regularily catching strays for the tiniest mishaps. But that's funny right? Because it's Lance! He totally deserves being treated like shit, right?

Mclaren has always, and I mean always treated their drivers like they are the least important part of a race/team. They fired Kevin Magnussen on his birthday in an email. They brought Daniel Ricciardo in and broke him because they couldn't figure out how to have a driver like him on the team and balance him with Lando.
They fired David Malukas because he couldn't drive with an injury.
And now this:
Not only did they very clearly blindside Theo Pourchaire, they had him give up his super formula seat in order to be able to driver for them. So now not only is Theo out of an Indycar seat, he has no seat anywhere. The 2023 F2 champion has no seat in any sport at all. It's insane that this is becoming an acceptable behavior.
I hope Theo is able to drive somewhere next season. There are rumors that as soon as his release was announced three teams immediately wanted his info. I have faith he will be in the seat.
DO NOT HATE ON NOLAN SIEGEL. This is not an invitation to do so. He seems like a nice guy. The pay-driver thing is going to be a reality of it all about him, but my big concern is that he has not even tested the Mclaren yet. I hate when a team makes a move based on info from other teams, even when their owner/manager is shared.
I would also like to point out that this decision is in the hands of Zak Brown. He runs Mclaren, both in Indy and F1. If he can do it in Indy, like he already has to David Malukas and now Theo, he could do it to his academy drivers and F1 drivers, like he did to Daniel Ricciardo. I would like to point out, actually, that he's still doing it right now with Oscar. Oscar has had considerable pace these last few races, even better than Lando on occasion, but they have consistently sacrificed him anyway. Oscar has the benefit of being fantastic and also having Mark Webber as his manager. I wouldn't be surprised if Red Bull or Aston Martin offer him a contract in the future. But for drivers who aren't as lucky as Oscar Piastri? It's a problem. Zak Brown has spent countless interview hours ripping into Red Bull's toxic driver environment. Newsflash, at least Red Bull doesn't pretend. At least every driver coming in knows they have a benchmark that is Max. The benchmark for Mclaren is money.

I have a question. When the drivers do the fan stages before a race, F1 usually has two teams go at the same time (for example, I’ve seen Alpine and Ferrari go together before). Why don’t Ferrari and Red Bull ever go together?
Can you imagine Charles and Max on the stage together. Laughing when asked silly questions or blushing when they look at each other.
Lestappen interacting during a fan stage would be simply lovely. 😊

it's so funny trying to talk to people about Speed Racer (2008), because it's like...what if there was a guy who drove a car so well that he defeated capitalism

By the time cars were invented, Jonah Magnus was already well into the body hopping game, which raises the question: has he ever actually learn to drive? Did this man sit through driver’s ed? Or has he just been getting out of legal repercussions for his shit driving by telling the cops everything he knows about their deepest darkest secrets every time he gets pulled over?
