Exhausting day, so let's yap about something fun.

I've seen a post floating around that went something like "imagine Naruto releasing now, Akatsuki gang would be called woke" and I wanna take this concept another step further and talk about how generally these S-rank criminals are surprisingly tolerating of each other.

(though side point nothing will ever help these men and Konan beat the fruity friend group allegations, like they are wearing matching coats that are TERRIBLY impractical when you are working as, you know, a fucking ASSASSIN. and the nail polish? can anybody explain how that idea came about? like, I guess it's not surprising that members like Konan and Deidara aka Ms. and Mr. Insane Make Up Game of the Terrorist World would paint their nails, but why is Nagato sitting Pain's bodies down for a manicure? The local 195 cm tall fishman agreeing to a pedicure? Why the fuck is Uchiha "killing readers with boredom that I evoke with my 13 hour long yapping about despair and hopelessness" Obito still doing his pedicure in KAGE SUMMIT ARC? BRO, LET GO OF THEM, YOUR BESTIES AREN'T COMING BACK, YOU SENT THEM ALL TO THEIR DEATHS, YOU PIECE OF SHIT, EVERYONE IS 15 SECONDS AWAY FROM MURDERING EACH OTHER, WHY ARE YOU PAINTING THE NAILS ON THE ARM YOU ARE ABOUT TO ATTACH??? omg🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄)

Because I am a lore nerd, I am completely fascinated by the sheer difference between the members. And I speak both of the age and the geographic differences, which, realistically, should create some absolutely wild scenarios between the members.

So let's start by separating the gang by age, because they've actually got three pretty definitive clusters in their group when we look at them from that particular parameter.

Kakuzu is in his own subgroup, being *checks notes* jesus christ 91. Kakuzu is actually older than the village system itself (Kishimoto can't count, so it was either founded 60 or 80 years before the events of Shippuden, and either way Kakuzu spawned in this world on hardcore difficulty way before the clans in Land of Fire decided to stop terrorizing each other and chose to terrorize everyone around them). Mind you, the characters from the major Hidden Villages that were constantly joked about as being these ancient fossils and those who have seen the dawn of fucking civilizations were people like Chiyo (73 years old in Shippuden) and Onoki (79 years old). And. Like. Shinobi generally don't live that long even in the villages where they can live in relative protection and have an opportunity for retirement. Kakuzu's out there collecting his retirement fund from any unlucky motherfucker who gets his face plastered into a Bingo book or something. And he was probably doing that even before becoming a member of Akatsuki. Which. Lmao.

And considering the fact that he was in some sort of fighting age whenever fucking Hashirama was still alive, Akatsuki's old man is likely actually written in the history books that they read in the hidden villages (do kids even learn how to read? I'm pretty sure the villages value kunai throwing more than reading huh). Or at least in the history books of nukenins. Wait, scratch that, he is probably one of the people who is the reason behind a lot of the operating procedures that the villages have whenever you got a deserter or a general terrorist running through you territory. What I'm saying is, the guys from the major villages (meaning Sasori, Deidara, Obito, Kisame and Itachi) have probably known of Kakuzu just off the stories they read in the Academy/heard from older shinobi. I'm not mentioning the guys from minor villages because I am not giving them enough benefit of the doubt to have something like a decent system of education or ninja living past 30😁. I imagine that must be quite the bizarre experience to abandon your village, become a nukenin and meet the OG guy. Like, as OG as they get.

And one last thing I wanted to point out before moving onto the next generation of our fruity terrorist is how weird it must have been for Deidara to meet Kakuzu for the first time? I don't mention the other two from Akatsuki's kids aka Hidan about whom we don't know much about and Itachi who's relationship with old men in his life can be summarized by "they exploit me, I try to get the best things out of this🙂", but Deidara, being Onoki's student, in canon is shown to constantly refer to him as "old man" in various degrees of insultingness (insert a meme about 18 year old Kurotsuchi's broke "maybe you should retire, old man" vs 10 year old Deidara's woke "KILL YOURSELF OLD MAN" *some bridge in Iwa fucking explodes*) and like. He's like 13. And gets to meet Kakuzu. Who is like 85 at the time. Just imagine the experience that Deidara got. He's been hating the old man as long as he remembers, and then gets to meet THAT. Local teenager meets an actual dinosaur moment.

So know we get to the second generational group and it's by far the biggest one in this pretty small organization, and I like to title them "the ones that were born some time around the Second Shinobi World War and got completely fucked over by the Third one😁". This group, obviously, includes Konan and Nagato (both 40 in Shippuden), Sasori (35), Kisame (32) and Obito (yeah yeah I remember that he's been stated to be like 31, but for timeline purposes I prefer to have him at around 30, because otherwise like twenty events get funky). The Second Shinobi World War can only be approximately estimated, but given what little is known of about the characters involved in it, Ame orphans' year of birth is a pretty good estimate of a starting point for shit starting to go down, while Konoha suddenly started having a lot of kids right around the time of Kakashi's generation, meaning that their parents suddenly started having a lot of time to procreate and did not have to run across the border to beat shit out of someone else🤭Either that, or Konoha got the money to pay the shinobi for every kid they manage to pop in the next five years lol.

Anyway, the Third war followed pretty soon (around 18 years after Ame trio's birth, actually), and we certainly know that Obito got pulled into it (because of the, you know, the successful pancake challenge) with Konan and Nagato too, but on Ame's side (the Third War would actually be the best and prime time for the original Akatsuki led by Yahiko to operate, as they would be both old enough to organize something and be strong enough to maneuver between Hanzo and the external enemies aka Konoha, Iwa and Suna). With Sasori it isn't exactly confirmed straight away, but considering that his nickname is "Scorpion of Red SANDS", and when you are a nukenin why would you stay in the desert where there's a lot of sand it's coarse and it gets everywhere in your puppets (c), so most likely Sasori would have gotten this nickname while he was still living in the village, and mind you he was 15 when he left the village with the dead Third Kazekage in tow, all of which would have taken place right around the middle of the Third War, so it isn't much of a stretch to assume that he got a good chunk of murder experience during it.

Kisame is a weird one, because we don't know anything about his life until he's like, adultish? At least that's the vibe I'm getting off his pre-death memories, which are obviously way past the Third Shinobi World War, however, thankfully, Kishimoto can't fucking count, so we have a pretty decent confirmation that this wonderful thing called the Blood Mist would already be in place come Kisame's childhood and youth (regardless of how much Kishimoto repeats the Blood Mist = Fourth Mizukage = the mysterious entity controlling Yagura = the one and only Uchiha Obito. unless, of course, there's a Kamui+ subscription that Obito had when he was younger that allowed him to teleport back in time too, exclusively to be a bigger fucking bitch to everyone). I can't remember the exact calcs, but it's actually thanks to Mei (the Fifth Mizukage) that has a mention that she had to take the wonderful murder exam as a genin, and based off Mei's and Kisame's ages it actually becomes clear that Kisame would have had to graduate from Academy right around the time of Mei's exam or they were literally taking the same exam, something like that. Point being, even if we don't know for sure that Kisame took part in the TSWW, but we do know that he has had to deal with all of that mess related to growing up in Blood Mist🙂🙂🙂🙂So I guess we can call this generation "were born during the SSWW, most got royally fucked over by TSWW, but some of them also got fucked over by Blood Mist".

So these guys, I would say, can be characterised by them having a certain period of peace and purpose in their lifes that they ultimately lost during the subsequent wars, oftentimes suddenly, leaving them with psychological traumas for the rest of their lives that they WOULD make everyone's problem, so what ends up happening is a generation of deluloids that are running around with their grand plans of fixing the world or finding the ideal form of themselves. Ironically, I would say that Nagato and Konan have the most... er... realistic ideas regarding the whole "fixing" thing that others in their generation seem to have. Yes, the guys who say they are a God and an Angel. Because selective nuclear annihilation is a surprisingly effective way to dissuade most people from starting shit with each other😇🙏

Then we have Obito and Kisame both of whom worked for the whole Eye of the Moon thing... I'm not even gonna go in detail about it, it's just so fucking stupid. You listen to it one time and it really becomes apparent that this shit was concocted by a crazy old man with his ex's face on his tiddy and his dead little brother's eyes in his eye sockets that was living in a dank cave for about 50 years all alone. I mean, Obito got brain damage from going on a field trip to Kannabi bridge, I'm not surprised he though that was a good idea, but Kisame has no excuses, yeah, I know you've lived a horrible life that you took as a norm and suddenly all those deaths that you witnessed and contributed to turned out to be completely meaningless, just like pretty much your entire life, but that's not an excuse to listen to this masked dude's yapping about making a PowerPoint Presentation of his Sharingan on the surface of the fucking moon and go "Woah...😳🤩"

And finally we have Sasori, who's less bothered by doing the whole changing the world thing and moreso got his own idea of what an absolute ideal form is supposed to be, and he is going full murder hobo achieving it in his immediate surrondings. And it all stems from that time when his parents died after meeting Hatake Sakumo. Ah, speaking of that.

So back to the original topic of this post as in Akatsuki members are surprisingly chill with each other, regardless of the circumstances of their previous lives? Well, there's a thing with these guys that Kakuzu wouldn't have - a sort of developed sense of loyalty to the village and animosity or coldness to people from the enemy villages. Again, Kakuzu is older than the village system itself, and he would have left pretty early on (considering the whole fiasco seemed to have stemmed from that attempt on Hashirama's life, and Hashirama couldn't have lived past 20-25 years after Konoha's foundation), so he doesn't care for any of that, a guy with a bouty on his head goes into the retirement fund regardless of what headband he's wearing. But for kids that grew up in this system I think it would be at times pretty jarring to suddenly sit on the work meetings with someone they would have considered their mortal enemy just some years ago.

We don't know much about with whom in particular Sasori and Kisame were fighting while in the villages, but taking a look at the geography... I mean, Suna might have been going at it with both Iwa and Konoha lol? Imagine Pain asking Sasori what does he know of Iwa ninja, Sasori goes on to list all the squads he murder and dismembered back in the good old Third War days and then the boss hits him with "Yeah, yeah, anyway, we are getting you a new partner. It's a child from Iwa. He's now yours. Raise him and don't let him kill himself before he turns 18."

Or just Kisame and Sasori generally dealing with the existence of Konoha lmao? Obito's obviously not piping up about his origins, but I like the idea of Itachi getting interrogated on what he knows about Kakashi in particular (who is the son of the guy who killed Sasori's parents. and granny Chiyo went for his throat on fucking sight. not to mention her mass murdering grandsonny).

"Itachi, do you know this Hatake guy?"

"Er, yes, we served in ANBU together?.."

"Good. Tell me where he lives, at what time does he go to bed, what he eats for breakfast and how is he with his Sharingan."

Or just chatting with Kisame and the topic of Kakashi pops up

"Oh, I would love to fight him one day. Is he really that bloodthirsty and insane as they say?"

"Er, no, what gives?"

"He has been in Kirigakure's Bingo Book for years! Oh, and there was this one time when he massacred an entire squad on his own, ripping guts and all. Come to think of it, that was also about the time when we lost one of our biju. What a weird coincidence, huh."

"Oh yeah, I think I know that one. That was about the time when one of his teammates died too. What a weird coincidence, huh."

Because Kishimoto is such an incredible writer that gives only his best when it comes to Obito, especially when he needs to write the conflict and relationships for a 30 year old guy and comes up with nothing but shit that concerned him when he was 14😁😁😁😁😁so he's stuck with nothing interesting for his entire Akatsuki life period, but I still think it's pretty funny that of all the people Obito could have gotten partnered with it had to be the only guy from the village that freed him of the burden of having a right side of the body🙏

But I think by far the most interesting ones would be Konan and Nagato as people of Amegakure, a village, as you remember, that kept getting run over by the major powers surronding it, I believe that in Nagato's flashbacks we even get the confirmation of the conflicts that Nagato personally had with Konoha and Iwa ninja (one for his parents' murder and another whenever Yahiko got in trouble as a kid). To them as part of the original militia Akatsuki the shinobi of the major villages (Iwa, Konoha, Suna in particular) are invaders and pretty much just enemies. But then obviously "Madara" pulls up and starts Uchihasplaining them how the world is wrong (duh) and how they must fix it. Obviously, following the change in management of the organization, they had to recruit new members, and while the official materials don't really have anything regarding this process (no, the videogames/light novels/whatever other bullshit produced by people not called Kishimoto Masashi don't count), I believe it's reasonable to assume that Obito, Nagato and Konan would at least sit down and chat about who they are bringing on their world-fixing-terroristic tour. And like. It must have been quite the experience to just sit there with this guy (who's supposedly one of the founders of the entire system they are currently living in) and get a bunch of candidates that they are supposed to invite even if just some time ago they would have been their enemies lol.

(and to be fair out of all the people that they have from the above mentioned villages two of them (Itachi and Deidara) were like 5 and 3 years old at the time Yahiko got killed, not to mention the whole TSWW, so I guess it would have been more weird to watch "Madara" turn their organization into a daycare rather than watch their headbands. but Sasori absolutely could have been to Ame back in his Suna days during the Third War. though again the nickname suggest that he was likely fighting a defensive war)

And, finally, we got what I like to call the kids generation meaning Hidan, Itachi and Deidara, all three of whom were born during the Third Shinobi World War, and, well, let's just that the defining feature of this group is just mental illness. Like, yeah, everyone's not okay in Akatsuki, but these guys? Fucked over since, like, toddlerhood. At least based on what limited information we have on them, with Itachi's extensive biography throught the plot it's obvious, Deidara was taken in at about the same age as Itachi did and was already on his manic pixie boy yapping about art with a "resume" so long that people three times his age would have trouble competing with the bullshit this young teenager already did. Hidan's the only one of three who was taken in as an adult, but... yeah... the whole cult and mass murder thing probably says nothing good about his childhood.

And just imagine being this young nukenin, only starting to become infamous for your crimes, and then you get dragged to join the organization with some of the strongest terrorists in modern shinobi history. I like to imagine there was this tiny sense of giddiness at achieving something like that? Like whenever a kid gets to do adult things, and there these guys are, on the same level as big shots. Well, at least for Deidara and Hidan, Itachi's too depressed and thinking of his foolish little brother. He can at least be happy that he's got the chillest guy as his partner.

(and on the other hand you got the rest of Akatsuki members confused why the fuck did the Leader get two 13 year olds in quick succession. like. yeah they good at mass murder but do we really have to raise them? is having ninja zoomers on the staff that important for the world domination plan?)

I was rewatching Judgemental Critter's RWBY Beyond review, and while watching the part about Somewhat's episode I realized something

so this is Ambrosius' portal. that's pretty obvious, with the whole blue and yellow aesthetic that all the relics have

now, considering that it seems like Somewhat's episode takes place shortly after V9's end (since that market place, is still being repaired I think), this means that, at the moment of that episode, our "heroes" haven't gotten the relics back yet, since the Boba episode mentions that the gang have been back for weeks already – Ruby's quote: "by the way Yang, you promised we'd go shopping weeks ago" – and yet there was no mention anywhere of the relics somehow being back in their possession (because they prioritize drinking tea and doing Naruto run around the overcrowded, underresourced kingdom over saving the world. lol, lmao even). meaning that Salem's group still has both relics at this point, if not three, considering they fucking nuked Vale offscreen

so here's the thing...

HOW IN THE FUCK DOES ANYONE FROM SALEM'S GANG OF CABBAGES KNOW ABOUT EVERAFTER????

the ONLY characters who were in Everafter and came back out with the knowledge of it (in or close to current time) are RWBYJ. and, if we assume that she's somehow still alive and somehow on Salem's side (somehow), then possibly also Summer.

Neo should most likely still be in her dumbass tree, and even if she isn't and she's back on Remnant, she wouldn't be able to tell (literally) that info to Salem or her gang of failures, because she should remember jackshit about being part of them or them in general, since ascension erases all of your pre-ascension memories. and considering that Neo chose to ascend willingly, I doubt she'd just go "nah, I'm actually pretty good the way I am", then come back with no changes, like Ruby did, and run off to, like, write a lengthy letter to Salem about Everafter or something.

Salem herself can't know about Everafter, because she never had any of the relics in her possession and so never went there. what, did the Brother Gods just randomly roll up to her at some point, after she already turned into Grimm, said "yo, there's this cool Everafter place, we were both born there. here's how you can get to it", and then dipped out? or did she summon Ambrosius and he just started dumping exposition on Everafter onto her unprompted? honestly wouldn't put it past the writers, but let's assume for this that they're not that dumb.

Cinder, Mercury and Tyrian have even LESS chances of knowing about Everafter being real

RWBYJ and anyone from their side have no means of getting there, due to not having relics, like I pointed out before

the ONLY person who could at least somewhat logically come back to Everafter is Summer (again, assuming she's still alive... somehow). she knows how to get there and have already been there, since her weapon is in Blacksmith's workshop. but even if it IS Summer then:

why the hell would she wanna go back there, considering there's nothing for her to get? what, does she suddenly want to help out with the fight against Salem by enlisting a small baby mouse, a deerhare, partially cracked Red Prince and random lads from the market, who don't even know how to fight?

how in the fuck would she even get her hands on the staff if it's with Salem? I doubt she stole it while Salem was too busy monologuing and glaring into the distance or something like that

and if we go with the logical option of Summer still actually being dead, then it doesn't change anything and we're still in the same spot we were if we'd assumed she was secretly alive

so really this final portal thing just makes zero sense. and it's clear why this makes zero sense – because Kerry just wanted to shove some big, cool cliffhanger at the end of the episode to bait people into giving them more money on their show with worse than mediocre writing. "oooooooh, you wanna see who the fuck entered the Everafter at the end there? well, ya gotta give us more money first! pretty pleaaaaaaaaase🥺🥺"

Story time: When I was little and first start wachting anime (not counting Pokemon and Digimon because I didnt know what anime even was when first seeing them on tv) I learned about the big three, and wanted to watch all of them. One at a time thou.

So I watched few videos like amv or top 10 lists on yt to decide which one to start with. Bleach I found pretty boring, still do, just dont think its an anime for me. Im sure its good as it has a lot of fans. But not for me. And One Piece I thought was too childish, not sure if I saw 4kidz dub or it might be before any one of the big emotional scenes (before water 7, as in genocide wasnt a plot point yet) but I thought it was a 'friendship is magic' type of show. Naruto I saw there was blood (why I think I might have seen one piece 4kidz videos) and the nine tail fox, which I thought was the cooled thing ever. So I ended up with watching Naruto first. Spoiler: Nine tails barely have any scenes so that was a huge let down.

I didnt like Naruto because he kept trying to sneak in the womens bath and transforming into a naked girl to give people nosebleeds. Little ace me, who didnt know what asexual was, didnt approve. Sasuke I thougth was an idiot, I normally like the overly emo characters but I just thought hes reasoning and actions were stupid. (Like in the end he came back like "Im going to be the new hokage". like bitch! You are a war criminal that sided with the enemy that tried to destroy the village at one point! Why the fuck would the village want you as their leader??!!) And Sakura just seemed really pointless. There was a thing that she was supposed to be the more giften one in channeling chakra but Naruto and Sasuke quickly cought or was atleast good enough that Sakura wasnt needed that often. There was some good scenes but they were few and far between.

Not liking the main characters is a bad start when watching a show.

I dont remember that much what happend in the anime because I got so mad about how long time it took for things to happen that I ended up suppressing the memories. I didnt know what filler episodes was untill after I was almost at the end of the serie. So I watched all and every filler episodes thinking they were nessesary.

Did you know 41% of the anime was filler? 91 of 220 episodes of the original anime where filler. And 203 of 500 episodes of shippuden where filler. And one point there was even 76 episode in a row that was filler. From 13 july 2005 to 1 february 2007 where just filler episodes.

I refused to watch Bleach and One Piece after thinking they had as much filler episodes as Naruto. Untill I got recommended one piece videos on yt and decided to give it a try. But looking up which episodes where filler so I could skip it. But One piece only had 10 %. I know there were someone that had counted how many minutes where filler scenes in each episode which made that procentage a lot higher.

I know its annoying that One Piece has a lot of scene filler where things are dragged out little too long. But if I had to choose I do rather have filler scenes than filler episodes. Even thou filler episodes can be fun from time to time. But not 76 in a row.

i've never seen a fandom hate and spite their own mc more than the tekken fandom. i was browsing r/Tekken one day for tips on how to beat lili and unsurprisingly i found a post where people kept disrespecting him on his OWN BIRTHDAY. seriously, as someone who is a diehard stan of kazuya mishima and sasuke uchiha (i loved both of them since i was a kid) even those two get more respect than jin - the naruto fandom on reddit never straight up disrespected sasuke on his birthday.

worst part of it all is that jin got basically the same treatment as luke from star wars and captain america in marvel comics - he was just ooc as fuck in tekken 6 and his characterization in that game completely contradicts tekken 3-5 jin. it can easily be fixed too by just saying he got brainwashed by azazel (like how nina got brainwashed by ogre). jin fans get called whiny for trying to retcon or fix their own favorite, but side character fans (ex. paul, law, etc) get a fix their own fav and be called "the best writers in all of fiction". i think i also remember seeing someone say they hope jin's va gets terminal c*ncer and dies so the writers could have miguel kill him off and then replace him with kazuya or lars as the new mc while xiaoyu fucks hwoarang or something (i checked to see if it was still there, but they probably deleted their twitter account).

why can't the tekken fandom just do what voltron stans do and ignore canon while making their own?...yes, everyone and their grandma knows tekken story has gone down the shitter since post tekken 5. so then instead of saying "Tekken story sucks and no one cares about lore in fighting games" for the 100th time how about fucking make your own au's and fanfic.

honestly it's hard to look thru any jin content without a joke about tk6, or straight up bitter haters. i'm not saying every jin post has a comment with that content, but there's a lot that does. reddit is probs the worst place for jin hate too as i see it there the most. heck, i get hate for being a jin main. usually when they don't agree with one of my takes, they point out me being a jin main and how we're all retarded or some shit. (alisa & jun are now more of my mains, but that was back then when i still listed jin as my main lmao) so whilst you're still gonna come across jin hate on places like twitter or even here, it's best to steer away from reddit 'cos it's most egregious there.

yeah. most normal fandoms do just ignore canon, or if they can't ignore canon 'cos it's canon, they acknowledge it's trash and purpose ways it could've been handled better. but the tekken fandom isn't like that. they're insistent on jin being a fucker head because it happened in one game. and yeah, i have seen ppl say jin fans are either whiny or losers for wanting to say he was brainwashed and not hold him responsible for his actions. and it's like, yeah, i approve of holding characters responsible for their actions. but the problem with jin is that his character should've never been written to commit those actions to begin with - i'm not gonna care to hold a character responsible when they were out of character. i'm just gonna criticize the writing.

also maybe you saw that on a message i already answered? there was another anon that also told me something similar that their sister or friend was praying for that in a church lol. i dunno if you're the same anon or not (as you both have similar takes regarding the treatment of jin's character)

i think the reason why tekken fans have a harder time ignoring the Bad Parts of canon compared to fandoms like marvel, star wars, or certain animation is because of the "stories in fighting games don't matter" saying that's popular. it gives people the mentality that they shouldn't care about the story as much... yet ironically caring about it as they're mad at jin for being the Hope of Mankind lmao.

THIS IS HARD!!!! When I dream of a fic, I simply write it.... there is one genre of fic that I really adore but can't bring myself to write and it's daemon aus, as in His Dark Materials. I *adore* the sort of "spirit animal" concept but I just can't write it myself! And this AU is so rare I can barely find any fics for it, especially in modern fandoms!!! It's such a dilemma for me, I'm begging *anyone* willing to write it.

I find myself wanting existing fics to update more, though. A World of One Color by The Big Roman (Hammocker) is a Roman Sionis (Black Mask)/Jason Todd fic series that I drool over every time I think about it. Sadistic yet caring Roman and a Jason desperate to be loved, muah. Chefs kiss. Honestly anything in the Jason/Roman ao3 tag is perfect.

Designation: Miracle by Umisabaku is a kuroko no basket fic with all the classic pairings (and a curveball with my favorite, Akashi/Furihata) which is a sci fi au of KNB. Her summary is the best so I'll just copy:

what i like about your character(s): it'd be a bit of a missed opportunity not to mention your own explodey blond boy, deidara. now i have NOT watched much shippuden yet - being away from home has affected that - but the screentime i've seen from him has given me true insight into why you love him as a muse so much. you've talked me through what you've done differently to canon (which is apparently a common occurrence for naruto in general, and i already can see why LOL), showed me his little tics and habits, and i've even had katsuki briefly interact with him as a fellow explodey blond on the other side... i sometimes see posts from you set in the naruto universe with him, and i can't help but marvel at how you've captured his character in a way that does him more justice than kishi did!

and OF COURSE, we HAVE to talk about your ocs. akihiro and katsuki haven't officially interacted on our blogs yet, but we did briefly discuss it in discord, and how aki would just reaffirm katsuki to be as unapologetically himself as humanly possible. which katsuki was going to do anyway, but it helps to have someone in his corner about it LMAO. i love the idea of aki and his band backing up dynamight as a sponsor and supporter, which then leads to collaborative marketing, and from there, katsuki inadvertently becomes a leader in individuality. all through the vkei genre.

then there's the best boy daiki, which we have a whole au where he gets adopted into the bakugou family after he and katsuki got along and katsuki's parents decided to provide some stability... well, as much as you can get in the bakugou household. these two are the best of friends and best of brothers, even when they collide with each other, but that's what makes them so fun to talk about? i just love the entire dynamic we've built for them around that concept. and eventually, daiki is gonna have to drag his adoptive family to meet his extended family in europe, because it's going to be fun watching poor katsuki out of his ELEMENT the entire time.

Naruto hot takes part 3: can I PLEASE get a waffle?

1) Kushina and Minato’s relationship was so fucked up. Like seriously she was a genocide survivor and he was a literal war criminal who killed thousands of people. 2) Also the fucking power imbalance - Minato was a prodigy, chosen young to be the Third Hokage’s successor, had close ties to the three Sannin aka the most powerful ninja in Konoha, and seemed to have some connection to the Second Hokage. Kushina may have been a Jinjuuriki, but she was also a refugee without a family or connections. 3) Also Minato was probably a psychopath lmao. He literally doesn’t care about anyone’s problems unless they’re shoved in his face, has no reaction to two of his students literally dying, and puts the third one - as a traumatized child - in murder corps. 4) Yk if he was alive he probably would have been a dad in a similar way as Principal Asano from Assassination Classroom. 5) Konoha probably had a part to play in Ushizo’s demise and it’s why no one ever mentions them despite that the literal Hokage was married to an Uzumaki. 6) Sasuke isn’t the amazing radical savior his fandom think he is lol. 7) Yeah, he was the closest to a radical character throughout the series, but the second he found out why Itachi decided killing his whole clan was a good idea he immediately sided with him and never questioned any of his decisions. When he did claim to want a revolution, his ideas were a) becoming a dictator (Kage) or b) killing everyone in Konoha. 8) He has every right to be mad and you could probably make him an actual revolutionary easily, but still lol. 9) Shikaku was a kind of bad dad based on what hints we get of Shikamaru’s home life. 10) Literally everyone’s characterization - Sakura included - was more interesting, well rounded, and had more potential in Part 1 than Part 2. 11) Sakura should have been a ROOT agent. It makes a lot of sense, especially in Part 1. 12) For how interesting Sai’s backstory was there was very little point to his character. The only reason he was there was to be Sasuke’s replacement. 13) The fact that he could have and should have been more is true, but he wasn’t. 14) Tsunade had a shit ton of privilege as both a Senju and the granddaughter of the First Hokage and that really should have been explored. 15) Both Jiraiya and Orochimaru give me pedophile vibes and I do not like it. 16) There was literally no reason why basically all of the Rookie 9 had to be clan heirs. It makes no sense. 17) Sarutobi Hiruzen was probably senile and should probably never be seen ever again. Please someone destroy his face on that stupid Hokage Wall or whatever it’s called. 18) Hashirama wasn’t the happy-go-lucky guy everyone seems to think he is lol. He was manipulative as hell and probably killed a shit ton of people. 19) The Last is a really stupid movie that showcases all of Studio Perriot’s fetishes in like two hours. 20) The one thing that is realistic is Hinata caring more about knitting a scarf for ‘N-naruto kun’ than her sister being kidnapped. 21) Both Sakura and Hinata are shittily written characters who’s entire arcs in-story revolve around guys. The difference is Hinata is a slave owner and Sakura knows jack shit about politics because no one tells her anything. 22) Hey Kishimoto give your main heroine an actual fucking thematic and plot relevant role that makes her equal to her male teammates as she’s literally supposed to be as their deuteragonist challenge. 23) Oh yeah Rin being a ROOT agent also makes a lot of sense. 24) Please sort out Naruto’s backstory. Did he have no friends or were Shikamaru, Kiba, and Chouji his friends? Did he not give a shit about Hinata or did he save her from a copy-pasted version of Sakura’s backstory? Please. 25) Naruto isn’t empathetic at all he just trauma dumps on everyone and expects them to gush over his oh-so-sad backstory because he had it the worst out of everyone, awwww. 26) And the worst part is it works lmaoo. 27) Kakashi has white man energy. 28) The whole reincarnation plotline was stupid and added absolutely nothing other than making Naruto’s whole thing about being an ‘underdog’ even more obsolete as he was literally destined for power. 29) Honestly if the ramen girl (Ayame?) was younger I probably would have shipped her and Naruto. It would’ve been cute. 30) Fugaku wasn’t abusive lol. Yeah, he wasn’t a perfect dad, but he did care about his kids and didn’t purposefully hurt them. The only reason people make him out to be Sasuke’s abuser is so they can make Itachi into this uwu savior instead of a nationalist responsible for a genocide.

What I think is lovely about Naruto and Hinata's relationship is the same thing I find lovely about Naruto and Shikamaru's friendship - there was no 'overcoming' of anything regarding Naruto's intrinsic nature that led them to loving him. A very important part of the development between Naruto and Iruka, for example, is the fact that Iruka had to force himself to see past his prejudices to the sad, scared, lonely little boy that eight-year-old Naruto was; it took years of working side by side for Sakura to view him as anything more than the annoying loudmouth that cut into her fawning and preening time. Not that I'm holding it against those two for working through their own issues and understanding that their initial, one-dimensional assessments of him were wrong, especially considering in Iruka's case he was most definitely fed propaganda regarding Naruto his entire youth, but... everyone initially had some sort of issue with him that they had to get over, and can you imagine how fucking degrading that is? Think of the way the villagers celebrated him after he defeated Pein and saved all their asses. "Hi, there's an immutable part of your identity that I find irredeemably foul and abrasive, but I have nevertheless decided to grace you with the benevolence of my tolerance and company." Man I'd fucking go apeshit that's so backhanded lmao

On the other hand, Hinata and Shikamaru didn't have to do any of that, because they never saw anything inherently wrong with Naruto's character to begin with. Sure, he was brash and loud and ill-mannered and hot-headed and maybe a little daft and a whole host of other unpalatable things, but they didn't see those things as a weakness - they were just Naruto. They were two of the few characters (alongside Choji and Kiba, I suppose, considering they were Naruto's other close friends during school, but I think that's just because they were genuinely nice rather than because there was something about Naruto specifically that attracted them) with the ability not to look past all of Naruto's 'bad' qualities, but to not acknowledge that he has any bad qualities in the first place. Could they be wrong? Of course, everyone has some drawbacks, but they were also, like, six. We can forgive them their optimism.

I think the reason for this is because, even at such a young age, both Hinata and Shikamaru were already emotionally mature enough to be cognisant of their own drawbacks. Shikamaru is comfortable in acknowledging that he's lazy, maybe a bit of a smartass, definitely picked up some heavy cynicism from his father... but those things don't make him any less of a good shinobi, any less worthy of having friends and family and fun. It's just him. We all collectively agree that Hinata obviously had some serious self-esteem issues courtesy of her father, was very self-critical and anxious about her skills - but the way this manifested in her emotionally is that it made her want to work harder, gave her more drive, in order to prove herself to her father and show that she was worthy of being his heir. This points to the fact that Hinata's self-esteem issues didn't lead to self-loathing, they led to a thirst for improvement, and everyone knows that the first step towards improvement is always to acknowledge your faults. Moreover, the qualities she saw in Naruto that made him ‘bad’ are the qualities she wanted to see in herself - confident, unafraid, stubborn, not deferential, always asking questions. If she, Hinata, strove so hard to have even a smidgen of the personality Naruto had, how could those traits possibly be bad?

This level of emotional intelligence set them apart from the rest of their agemates, and let them understand that a person is no less a person for being human. Therefore, when they both stumbled into the connections they built with Naruto, they didn't have the preconceived notions that everyone else did - they were completely judgement free, because judging other people would open themselves up to judgement, too, and nobody likes being judged. Furthermore,  I think Hinata and Shikamaru had mastered the ability of looking at people as a sum of all their parts; after all, if we were to judge someone like Hinata on a weighted scale of her individual traits, her level of social anxiety would outweigh all her other traits combined, but altogether they come together to make a rather sweet, intelligent, and powerful individual.

IDK if any of this made any semblance of sense but that’s why I personally really value NaruHina. It was one of the few times when someone appreciated Naruto not despite his negative qualities, but for them.

In the 478 episode when Naruto and Sasuke in this space in the middle of life and death they go through some memories and when they see themselves as little children alienated by the whole village, after some dialog Sasuke says "You called me your brother... in that sense perhaps we were". To which Naruto replies: "You totally wrong! Damn it! You don't understand, do you?" Shoves him and runes away. I know this wasn't in the manga, but I'm was wrapping my head around it and I cant find any expiation that is not Naruto saying that their bond is far from being brotherly and being annoyed that Sasuke act in denial of their feelings. What do you think? Will be happy to hear your opinion

This scene was totally wrong from Anime's side. And I think it was intentional because they somehow want people to believe that they are Brothers by using multiple 'Brother' references considering how Gayish the original material was.

And the Studio succeeded in it. Regrettably.

Firstly, Sasuke being in denial of his Feelings is one of the misinterpreted take on his character. If anything, He is the first person to realize that he loves Naruto. Remember That time when he was about to die and his head was filled with every little silly moments he shared with Naruto.????

And unlike Naruto, Sasuke didn't need a Sakura to make him realize these things... He knew it, he embraced it. I would say, Sasuke wanted to severe his feelings badly because he was very well aware that those feelings are coming in his way and distracting him.

Tell me, If Sasuke was in complete denial, then how could he knew that he has to KILL ONLY NARUTO to get his Mangekyou Sharingan and to kill him for his Revolution????

He is someone who knew what it means to have a Brother... He had Itachi for that. But why is he wondering about the nature of their Bond when he clearly knew it was much more than that, way back from Land of the Waves arc itself???

I can see Naruto pulling that Brother card (even though he denied that they are not Brothers in front of Hagoromo) but I couldn't see Sasuke pulling it.

So, I do think that Anime did this because they want to bring the Brothers' Agenda and shove it on our faces again and again. Because Guess what??? What you say matches how Sakura is towards Sasuke more then Hinata. Hinata goal has always been to change herself for the better, Naruto gave her the confidence and courage to do that which lead to her admiring and eventually falling love with him, but Hinata's goal was never just about Naruto.

Hinata's achieved her goal of wanting to change herself it was only later she wanted to stand by Naruto's side, but even then Hinata-

Was willing to reject Naruto for the greater good to save both her sister and the world by locating the tenseigan. Hinata despite loving Naruto has her prioritise straight.

Sakura however what were her goals again oh that's her goal was to be with Sasuke nothing else.

Sakura is so obsessed with Sasuke she even wanted to watch him pee. And even willing to betray her village leaving her family behind for him.

She isn't even the strongest kunoichi nor the third strongest ninja like you claim there are a ton of people who are much stronger then her.

There is a reason Sakura's every fight she needs help and a handicap to get through. Like seriously even since part 1 she only managed to tie with Ino cause Naruto shouted at her when Ino was about to win. How can you say Sakura is anywhere close to being the strongest kunoichi when she was literally getting taken out easily by a chunin before the war and even during it she almost gets killed by a ten tails clone and needed to be saved again by her teammates.

So you might want to read the manga properly before you question Hinata's development cause Hinata at least achieved her goal of changing and becoming a stronger person while Sakura-

676 chapters in still feels inferior to Sasuke and Naruto. Cares more about Sasuke not caring when they fighting to save the world.

678 chapters in she gets upset when Sasuke scolds her.

693 chapters in she is still crying over Sasuke the only development she has is that she acknowledges she can't do anything.

I mean Sakura did achieve her goal of getting Sasuke, but that is it she never had any other aspirations outside of Sasuke and by the end of the manga she is still crying over him.

Watches the anime the moment it’s broadcasted, reads metas and watches youtube videos that talk about conspiracies/analyses of your character. 

NO ONE CAN KNOW THOUGH. 

He’s taking his anime phase to the grave. 

For some reason gets super aggressive when you’re being flirty or being shipped with another character?? He hates all the scenes that tease any potential romance between you and other characters. asdfgj He’s like, “No one is good enough for [Name]!!! Except for me.”

Bakugou is those “um actually” ;; fans 

Bakugou is a manga reader, so by the time your introduction scene or Ultimate Attack scene is being aired he becomes super OOC. He’s hyped for it for days, incredibly nervous at how the animators handle the scene. 

By the time he watches it?? 

THE ANIMATION!! THE VOICE ACTING!! YOUR COOLNESS!!! PLS ORA ORA HIM IN THE CHEST!! HE’S BEGGING YOU! IF YOU’RE GOING TO UNISON RAID WITH ANYONE PLS LET IT BE HIM!! 

He’s legitimately sweating buckets by the time the episode is over. A whole-ass fire hazard. 

Probably knows how to play your character theme on the drums. 

Omg but if your character dies/is hinted toward dying/or the most recent chapters ends with a cliffhanger where you’re fatally injured he will become legitimately depressed. 

Like holes himself in his dorm room for a whole day without contacting anyone and with the blinds drawn type of depressed. 

When he comes to class the next day with eye-bags and is slouching and his classmates think that something horrible has happened, it’s probably only Izuku who knows what’s going on. 

He’ll say, “You’re upset about the most recent chapter of [Series], right? I know it must be hard for you right now.” He’ll give Bakugou an officially licensed rubber strap of your character and Bakugou will just ;; cradle it in his hands softly. 

In complete seriousness, your character is probably someone who is strong physically, but publicly rallies for things like, “Failure is fine.” Your character arc would probably explore what it’s like being not good enough or feeling constantly disappointed, so he feels comfort in your character. 

Todoroki Shoto: 

In comparison to Bakugou, he’s probably a more low-key fan unintentionally, but goes just as hard. 

Buys all of the merch, limited-edition or not, has your picture set as his phone lockscreen and homescreen, has a little acrylic charm of you on his phone, follows several fanartists that draw your character on social media. He buys enough merch that his room looks like a glorified shrine. 

It’s canon that he reads manga, but I headcanon that he’s even less picky with his genres and willingly reads things like slice-of-life or shojo all the way to shonen or adult fantasy, so your anime could come from any possible story. 

Your character is probably someone who is sweet and kind but has a traumatic character backstory. 

He probably ends up thinking stuff like, “If [Name] was with me, I would never let them get treated like that.” asdhj he’s a dork too. 

Unironically dramatically quotes you during battle and thinks that it’s still badass because he’s a teenage boy in his anime phase. 

Doesn’t get into debates with people who don’t like your character. He’s like, “Everyone is entitled to their own opinion :)) even though they’re wrong. >:(.” 

If you’re from a sports/competition anime he’ll try to learn all of the rules, and even try it out for himself (if it’s not fighting) but he finds out that he’s... not very good at it. That doesn’t make him any less amazed though! 

If your character is from a different culture with different customs and traditions, he’ll even learn more about them outside of your anime! 

Forces his siblings to watch the anime with him. They don’t necessarily have to, but the Todoroki household has one big TV and he hogs it all the time watching your anime over and over. 

Natsuo is begging him to watch something else and Shoto will just pout angrily from the other side of the couch.( ￣＾￣)

It’s so jarring because he doesn't look or appear like a hardcore anime fan, but sometimes he’ll just butt into conversations randomly and talk about you. 

Like you know those tumblr Naruto posts that talk about it as if it’s some sort of Renaissance literature. That’s Todoroki. 

[”Man, they’re so hot--!” 

“You want to see someone hot?” Todoroki asks with a perfectly straight face, and he’ll just... turn his phone around and show them a picture of an anime character.] 

When his dad tries to set him up with someone else: “You think they’re my type? Do they watch [Series]? Do they know what true friendship is?? Do they understand pining and love the way [Name] does?” 

Endeavor: who the FUCK is [Name]. 

Gets into fanfiction because of your character and series. He’ll just be reading on his phone during break times at school and everyone thinks that he’s being so well-read but he’s just reading pure smut with a straight face. 

Doesn’t mind when you’re shipped with other characters necessarily but he is super picky. If your character is hinted toward a potential romance with another character that’s pretty crass and doesn’t necessarily treat you well but you’re sticking together through the power of friendship, he won’t ship it. 

He’s just like “[Name] would be so much happier with someone else like me.” ://// 

And if your character goes through something traumatic or terrible during the series he’ll be so sad, like soooo sad. :((( Deku would probably be comforting him on the couch in the common room and everyone is concerned because he looks like he’s mourning a lost pet, but it turns out to be over some anime character pshhhsdfh. 

Deku would just be patting his shoulder trying to console him and Todoroki’s just sitting there with a big frown on his face going, [“But they’ve been through so much throughout the anime already...”

"Overcoming death" is literally just a popular Shounen trope- and that's not even counting 'gets maimed horribly and beyone compare, but comes out scott free' like??? People have literally been OVER THE MOON about the fact that Midoriya!!! Has scars!!! Because Shounen is so notoriously awful at showcasing the results of Heroes' mistakes. Even then, the series still uses the same 'ohohoho they are dying horribly!!1' trope all the time.

'Society creates Villains just as it creates Heroes'? Still there, I guess, but Bakugou's addition to that narrative was huge- a supposedly "villainous" kid rejecting villainy?

'You're worth more than your power'? Bakugou is one of the only people who saw Midoriya's worth BEFORE he got his power. He's also one of the only people (save Aizawa) who has acknowledged and pointed out Midoriya's recklessness and his self sacrificing tendencies.

'Heroes need to work together'? Bakugou is still one of the only people that Midoriya has actually fought side by side with other than the Stain Arc. Bakugou was the person who said "Don't go playing Hero on your own." (He's also one of the biggest showcases (bleh) in how Hero Society fails at teamwork- every time he has

Is it really a coincidence that his biggest win was a 'complete victory' that came from him working with his team? Him pushing Jirou out of the way during the 1A/1B showdown? How everyone pointed out his growth, and how he inspired the rest of the class?

During the Provisional License Exam he and Todoroki both failed (because they let their emotions get in the way of their Heroism), but remember what Aizawa said? About how Midoriya and Bakugou inspire the rest of the class to do better?

Especially now with the parallel to the Second User- WHY would they be using foreshadowing and parallels if he's gonna die? What the fuck would be the purpose??
