You know, I'm surprised I never saw Optus trending on here.

I mean, think of all the potential that could've been made it.

Optus, one of the largest network Companies in Australia, suddenly going down with 10 million customers relying on it like it was the last stop of water in the desert. It's freaking out because it lost it's power and no one knows why (my bet is hacked), with other users freaking out about having no internet.

And then there's AO3, who is a veteran. And it's just sitting there in the corner as it's taking a drag of it's cigarette (or Vape pen, I guess) and it tells you how it's been through it's wars (With Tags!)

Like AO3 Tumblr users had the opportunity to take the piss out of Optus and missed it!

Being as I have Telstra as my mobile/ internet 🛜 I had no idea half of Australia’s internet 🛜 was down until guy who use to host giggle & hoots show did a skit about it on TikTok before the news could tell me about it

One of Australia's three mobile service providers is down. The one I'm with, so I haven't had a phone for 8 hours now. Thankfully I have my wifi with a different company, so I still have internet. Because all their services are offline. Even their website was down when I tried to check it.

Yeah sorry to ebeg again but I stg I have had the month from hell. I had to pay outstanding phone bills, I missed my appointment with the food bank because I couldn't call them to reschedule on the day because of the Optus outage and I'm still waiting for them to get back to me to secure a new appt. I have an alcohol dependency disorder and I missed my first session with the queer AOD group because my internet went down and I'm waiting for them to get back to me too, I now have no food in the cupboard except pasta. And this is all the money I have left to last me till Friday the 1st of December.

I repeat, this is all I have left to last me until the December 1st.

So one of Australia's ISPs is going through an insane blackout, all phone lines and internet connections are just gone.

The current Optus blackout is affecting banks, hospitals and fire warning services across the country.

This is nuts.

I didn't get on here until 20 minutes ago because I'm borrowing someone else's Telstra connection.

Did you suffer through optus's outage? If you were asleep it lasted from 4:00 am to about 2:00 pm sydney time and people with landlines coulnt make calls at all while mobile were emergancy only. Obvi this fuck up emergancy services, transport and business. No internet either

We had it but its only effect on me personally was my mum showing up at my house with four enormous plastic tanks to cut into raised garden beds and taking me by surprise 6 minutes before Call of Cthulhu started (because she couldn't text me in advance) so we couldn't do it right then, so now I have a trailer full of plastic tanks parked extremely precariously on a very steep slope directly next to the corner of my house poised to crash right into the power supply thingy and corner of a bedroom at the slightest slipup

My internet worked fine
