Just curious, I think the age thing is the big thing with tonks and Remus and a few of the things of how jkr wrote it but I could see them being happy in a non-sirius timeline... But did you say that too bc wolfstar heart, like that they would be together if Sirius lived?
I dunno if this makes any sense lol, but I hope so and that it's coming across right.
I love all your art!!!!!
no, if sirius had lived then wolfstar obviously would have stayed together in my opinion. however, i don’t see it as some sort of betrayal that remus would find love after sirius. sure, you can criticize the relationship based on age gap or how quickly it progressed (if you don’t like those aspects of it) but i don’t think those things make it any less believable.
there’s a certain amount to be said about remus being an older order member and thus in a position of power over tonks, on top of her being younger, but there is no indication in the books that they play into those roles. like, she is often shown as the more pushy ‘i’ll do whatever the fuck i want’ person while he kinda takes a back seat. also, as far as i know it’s not canon that remus ever met tonks when she was a child. they met when they were both adults. (and remus was by no means old lol)

I have a question. It's a really silly question but I am curious. Pink Floyd. I LOVE Pink Floyd. I mean the Dark side of the Moon? Wish you were here? Beautiful. Amazing music. Probably amongst my favorite of all times.
But am I the only one who can listen to them only so much before starting to feel a mixture of existential dread and general depression?
The notable exception is my beloved Piper at the Gates of Dawn. I could listen to that one over and over again.
NB: some of this is and exaggeration for dramatic purpose.
I'll go and do a deep dive of their discography to gather more data.

I mean, I'll take care of a kid if fate throws it at me, but as a conscious decision? Ahahaha, no thank you.
stop telling your teenage daughters who say they don't want kids that they'll change their mind

Not “Only my reading of canon is correct” or “Interpretations are subjective and all valid” but a secret third thing, “More than one interpretation can be valid but there’s a reason your English teacher had you cite quotes and examples in your papers, you have to have a strong argument that your interpretation is actually supported by the text or it is just wrong and I’m fine with telling you it’s wrong, actually.”

I think cis people should also be their gender of choice. Like, if you're a man, you should get to really enjoy being a man- have fun with it! If you're a woman, take the parts of womanhood that really deeply make you happy. If being a little androgynous or ambiguous or hidden is the part that really makes you happy, you don't have to be trans for that. If you wanna lean really hard into being femme or masc- do it! You have one life in your body, do what makes you happy. Ditch the stuff you don't like.
My sinister queer agenda is I think that everyone should be the gender they like in the way they like it.

i do think there is a degree to which certain kinds of Instagram activists have convinced themselves that traumatising themselves in solidarity is a useful form of activism. "I'm having nightmares and crying so much I want to be sick because of all these videos of dying children but I can't look away while people are getting hurt" I mean don't you think you'd be able to help more if you weren't having nightmares and crying all the time?? don't you think this is a one-way trip to burnout? don't you think maybe increasing the amount of trauma going around is counterproductive? I dunno bro there's something to be said for bearing witness but there comes a point where you gotta look hard at yourself and go "am I helping, or am I just making myself suffer so I don't feel guilty for not suffering while somebody else is experiencing bad shit"

My last post was being snarky but here's my genuine pronoun etiquette opinion in case you actually want to know: it's pretty much never a good idea to directly ask someone their pronouns in front of a group of people, especially if you're in a position of authority, i.e. a teacher. The stakes of this question are very high for some people and you are putting them on the spot to decide what they want to share and what is safe to share. If you have decided you want to ask for pronouns at all, you can introduce yourself with your own to remind people that they can share theirs if they want to. And for the love of god whatever you do please do not just single out the most gender non-conforming or "trans looking" (to you) person and ask only them and no one else

this is probably above my pay grade but regarding neil gaiman it's so starkly clear how much class-based absue is entwined in this horrid situation. his victims were financially dependent on him, unable to even admit to themselves that what was happening was abuse because they had, in some cases, literally nowhere else to go. amanda palmer, self-proclaimed feminist, was complicit in a truly fucked mistreatment of a woman because she wanted to keep the babysitter that she didn't have to pay. gaiman was quoted literally saying that he's very wealthy to one of his victims. even the little mention of gaiman making decisions in his and palmer's marriage bc he's the one with the money is just. so telling when you know what to look for. they both took advantage of their social and financial priviledge over their victims and used it to abuse, manipulate, put down, and in the end try to silence them.
(terfs DO NOT touch this)
