Hey there!! I have a little LanTris headcanon for you today. Sorry bout the long ask btw =(

Sooo, did you notice how during the first few chapters in Liones when the 4KOTA assembled, Lancelot was openly protective of Percival and maybe Gawain? (Staying close during their battle to watch over them, explaining stuff and also openly saying that he won't be lenient with the demons if they hurt his friend when Gawain was like, right.there.) but instead he doesn't really show it when it's with Tristan? (Lancelot left in the middle of Tristan's battle, felt okay to let him go with the random roommate to god knows where, didn't really offer much voiced support in the demon realm later on)

I have a headcanon that because of those things, later on when the 4KOTA are working together constantly Tristan would just be doing his own things however he liked because he thought Lancelot just, doesn't care enough about him compared to Percival for example, and then they just go down this rabbit hole of arguing about Tristan's safety every mission because Lancelot does care, very much, but he's just too used to not having to voice any feelings with Tristan. And now he's suffering since the prince is being reckless constantly (like risking being kidnapped by Arthur and brainwashed like he's currently in the manga for example, because Tristan thinks it would help their purpose somehow)

I can totally see that to be honest.

I also feel like Lancelot views Tristan as someone strong and independent, someone he can trust to handle stuff by himself while he takes care of Percy and Gawain who are much less experienced than them.

Your headcanon of Tristan getting vexed about Lancelot not paying a lot of attention to him during battle and is very valid because in the past it always used to be him and Lancelot fighting and Lancelot watching his back anf his back only. And now he has to share that with two other people so it would only be natural for him to be upset.

And the part about him doing whatever the hell he wanted is very valid as well because he literally did that in grudge of edinburgh too.

Whenever he got upset or mad he would just rush into battle despite Lancelot telling him to wait for a better plan or something.

As for the Lancelot part, him suffering in silence about people he cares for is kind of in character for him ( jericho, his parents) I can definitely see him being frusteated about Tristan not understanding how he feels while simultaneously not managing to make him understand himself.

Honestly this is a pretty solid headcannon you've got here, kudos to you anon and thanks for sharing 💖

Tristan should have been happy. His best friend and their partner newly engaged at a surprise birthday party for the latter. He really shouldn't have been surprised, they'd been together for years at this point, but something felt so incredibly final about marriage. It was his problem absolutely, he thought he had quashed any feelings he had for his best friend's partner long, long ago. But seeing the ring on their finger felt like his heart had been ripped out and thrown into the sun. He was outside the restaurant. He wished he smoked in that moment. He had his hands stuffed in his jeans pockets, kicking at a stray patch of grass by the entrance when he heard a voice behind him. The last person he really wanted to see.

"Oh no, nothing. It was just getting quite warm in there - needed some fresh air."
